"The Miracle Drug That Can Save Lives: Narcan Now Available Over-the-Counter!"
The US drug body recently approved the first over-the-counter opioid overdose reversal drug, Narcan. This drug has the potential to save countless lives and reduce healthcare costs associated with opioid overdose treatment. Narcan works by binding to the same receptors in the brain that opioids bind to, thereby reversing the effects of the opioids. It is available in the form of a nasal spray,…

✌️✌️✌️Can you fit a square peg in a round hole? But you must find a way to do it without fundamentally changing the square peg. In it’s purest, most organic form, peer support operates separate from clinical programming. The deeper you integrate into clinical organization or healthcare system the more pressure to change core principles. This is not inherently bad. However, this must be acknowledged and planned for accordingly. A really good example. A fundamental principle of recovery support is “low threshold of engagement”. Which means, we should make it really easy to enroll and receive services. Another way to think of it. The more paperwork (forms and “fields”) to complete the less engaging the process will be. Clearly, we can’t avoid all forms. But can we adjust? Make changes to clinical protocols and adjust regulatory standards to better fit low threshold principles? If we can’t, or if we won’t, our impact as peers will be dramatically limited. Paperwork and protocols. ✅ As many as necessary. ✅ As few as possible. ✅ The trick is threading this needle. Joining grassroots, creative peer support with medicalized, clinical environment. It can be done. But it will require much work and intentionality. Lots of adjustment on both ends. Patience and communication. And mutual respect between clinical providers and recovery support programs. Youturn Health is down for the cause. We can adjust and shave a little off the edges of the square peg (a little bit). And we have some round hole partners who are making it work. There is nothing easy about this process. It was easy it would have already happened. #healthcare #mentalhealth #recovery #opioidcrisis #overdoseawareness #sober #soberlife #psychology #positivepsychology https://www.instagram.com/p/CoTRs8futGR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Walmart says they will pay $3.1 billion to settle lawsuits from multiple U.S. states alleging Walmart contributed to the nationwide opioid epidemic.
In a statement, Walmart stated it had agreed to the payment to resolve “all opioid lawsuits and potential lawsuits by state, local, and tribal governments.”
Walmart said it will “provide significant aid to communities across the country in the fight towards the opioid crisis, with aid reaching state and local governments faster than any other nationwide opioid settlement to date.”
The lawsuits were introduced by multiple states incuding New York, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, and more.
The coalition of attorneys general in these states claimed the actions of Walmart’s pharmacies had been a direct factor in the nationwide opioid crisis.

CVS, Walgreens and Walmart Must Pay $650.5 Million in Ohio Opioids Case A federal judge ordered the big pharmacy chains to bear partial responsibility for the deadly drug crisis. A federal judge on Wednesday ordered three of the nation’s largest pharmacy chains — CVS, Walgreens and Walmart — to pay $650.5 million to two Ohio counties, ruling that the companies must be held accountable for their part in fueling the opioid epidemic. The decision is a companion piece to a November jury verdict that found the companies had continued to dispense mass quantities of prescription painkillers over the years while ignoring flagrant signs that the pills were being abused. The ruling is the first by a federal judge that assigns a firm money figure against the pharmacy chains for their roles in the opioid crisis. Here, the judge, Dan A. Polster of United States District Court in northern Ohio, who has overseen more than 3,000 cases in the opioid litigation, ruled that the pharmacies bore responsibility for one-third of the amount that Ohio’s hard-hit Lake and Trumbull counties need to address the continuing damage wrought by the epidemic. Drug manufacturers and drug distributors, two other groups in the pharmaceutical chain that have been sued, also bear responsibility, he said. Mark Lanier, the Texas lawyer who led the plaintiffs’ trial team, said of the pharmacy chains: “These companies are rending the fabric of society apart. They should not only show remorse, they should show they need to rectify what they’ve done. And they won’t do it. So the judge is doing it.” Representatives for CVS, Walgreens and Walmart expressed their disappointment in Judge Polster’s ruling and said their companies would appeal. Fraser Engerman, a spokesman for Walgreens, described the judge’s analysis as flawed, and said the company would appeal. “We never manufactured or marketed opioids nor did we distribute them to the ‘pill mills’ and internet pharmacies that fueled this crisis,” he said. Michael DeAngelis, a CVS spokesman, also said the company would appeal, adding, “Pharmacists fill legal prescriptions written by D.E.A.-licensed doctors who…… #amerikkka #twoamericas #opioidcrisis https://www.instagram.com/p/ChZGYSzOa_W/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
