For those who don't know: The Gray Ghost (aka Simon Trent) was an actor who portrayed the superhero in the in-universe series "The Gray Ghost". But because of that role, he was typecasted and struggled to find other roles, up to the point of almost being evicted. He ended up helping Batman in solving a series of bombings commited by the crazed toy collector Manbomber, which helped him revitalise his popularity and found him a job.

His voice actor, Adam West, also faced the same thing after the 60s Batman series ended. He played Batman in the popular Silver-Age live-action series and couldn't find other acting roles. Unlike Simon Trent, Adam West didn't stop a bombing. He instead ended up doing voicework for animated series and cartoons, pretty much just leaving the acting industry entirely.

Al and Bracey chat with James Aquilone about Kolchak! - Comic Crusaders Podcast #131

Today Al and the guys chat with James Aquilone, about a Brand New Kickstarter featuring a CLASSIC character, KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER! The KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER 50TH ANNIVERSARY GRAPHIC NOVEL ANTHOLOGY will be available in limited-edition softcover and hardcover editions, both with variant covers. In addition Moonstone Books is creating a special 40-page standalone comic for the Kickstarter, featuring the story "Satanic Panic '88," written by James Aquilone and illustrated by Colton Worley, featuring a cover by Dan Brereton.

“It’s been half a century since Carl Kolchak made his first appearance on TV and it seems the fandom for the character is stronger than ever,” said editor James Aquilone. “I wanted to create something very special for the anniversary: a look at the life of my favorite monster hunter, from his childhood to his last case…the ultimate Kolchak story, full of creatures, frights, and the reporter’s iconic wit.”
