Kevin Conroy will always be my Batman. I would come home from school every day and watch Batman The Animated Series on fox kids and couldn’t wait until the next day to watch again. Kevin Conroy’s voice for Batman was a stroke of genius, there couldn’t have been a better actor for the role. The DC Pride comic that he did Becoming Batman was amazing and a great story if you haven’t read it. I can’t read a Batman comic without his voice in my head when reading Batman speech bubbles.

Like a lot of people. Batman the Animated Series was a big influence on me and seeing the passing of Kevin Conroy and Arleen Sorkin feels like an extreme loss. Thankful for all the amazing stories they gave us.

now that i really think about it, Kevin Conroy was the perfect decision for Batman’s voice. He would sit there and say that he was a hero, and i could sit there and BELIEVE it. He would say the things only a hero could say in the voice of just a human, and i would imagine myself being a hero. AND THAT’S THE ESSENCE OF BATMAN!! YOU DON’T NEED TO HAVE SUPERPOWERS TO BE SOMEONE’S SAVIOR. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE LARGER THAN LIFE TO CHERISH AND PROTECT IT.
