Thinking about the way noir and Hobie were most likely treated because of how they look and being severely underestimated because of it.

Hobie looks and acts like a punk. He is just unserious enough to not be taken seriously. The dude is smart enough to recreate a dimension jumping watch from scraps, that people WATCH him steal and go “ugh sorry about that, he’s always like that”. And they treat him like an instigative child. Meanwhile this man is staging an interdimensional coup and is essentially a rebel freedom fighter in his own world. He is incredibly strategic and a genius while also being kind and sticking to his guns. And as a reminder, without knowing Miles or how his powers worked for even two minutes he was able to accurately help him improve his abilities! Man is observant and a quick thinker! But he’s quiet about it!

Noir dresses and sounds like an ‘oldtimer’ bc he’s from the 1930s. People probably went “ah yes grandpa” with the assumption of a mild mannered, old, and jaded private eye. Probably thought of as behind the times and not as intelligent because of lack of experience with technology. But overall first impression was of a sensible hardworking guy, and at worst melodramatic. In reality, dude is more than mildly neurotic, has severe anger issues, and prone to getting into fights. A raised socialist activist, who has very little to lose, and has canonically burned down the Statue of Liberty, shockingly he is a bit of a wildcard. And more than likely got kicked off/quit the ‘elite strike force’ for those reasons. But he’s also resourceful, smart, and quick to adapt.

Both of these characters are going to be a force to be reckoned with when they get together. Very much house on fire that burns down the entire neighborhood type relationship. I’m very excited.

You know, our natural assumption is that Peter Parker is just SO genius and crafty that at age 16 he developed a web formula in his high school chem class that even twenty years later teams of scientists can’t replicate with millions of dollars in supplies and equipment but like. No offense to Peter but no 16 year old in a high school chem lab could outsmart 20 years worth of technological process+the greatest chemists of their generation+millions of dollars in funding. My theory is that Peter’s formula is so basic (but ingenious!), using such shitty supplies and equipment, that no scientist worth their degree would even consider trying to replicate the formula with his methods. He accidentally took the Glass Onion route to outsmarting these guys which was “just go dumber” and it’s worked for literal decades

There's been some talk on other poll blogs about people cheating somehow. There's a post from one blog and they have graphs and an explanation and I don't think any big poll blog is really safe from them anymore😕

tbh I don't think any cheating is going on. the last minute "sweeps" have been on such tiny shifts that nothing has looked sus to me, and also i don't think anyone cares enough about old hollywood people to get bots involved—we're not talking about mclennon vs jedus here, after all

If Dream was given the BIGGEST. LARGEST. benefit of a doubt of all time, then the truth is:

He isn’t careful with his words or actions.

He CANNOT fathom the consequences of his carelessness.

He can’t be bothered to consider the responsibility of his position before making decisions that inadvertently hurt other people because his fanbase is large, has negative actors, and speak on his behalf. DESPITE whatever he actually intended.

This leads to speculation from those outside of his fan base on his intention, insight to his unconscious motives and exposes his ignorance.

He is impulsive (in his words), prideful, and entitled. It prevents him from understanding the above points.

He is somewhat narrowminded and shortsighted when having to deal with said consequences.

It alludes him why certain topics need to be treated with the seriousness and severity it deserves.

It immensely upsets him that he cannot control his image to the wider public.

For some reason he cannot see that context doesn’t matter as much as the impact does. He focuses SO MUCH on explaining WHY something happened instead of acknowledging YES, it happened. He downplays those consequences in order to emphasize his “rationality”.

Perhaps creators should be taught how to handle an audience before being thrusted into having a sphere of influence.

As Tubbo said, being sexist/racist/etc is technically subjective. I do believe Dream isn’t purposefully racist, sexist, homophobic etc. That is my BOD for him. That’s what he believes for himself also. This is NOT, HOWEVER, how his words and actions come off. It can be interpreted as sexist, racist, transphobic, sinophobic etc to the wider audience. Not to mention the manipulative tactics and weaponized incompetence. He doesn’t realize this, which is why he’s so confused and trying so hard to control the perception of himself.
