Beautiful venue, team, and life. My first show of the year and my first show with the VIP department for Insomniac. I worked this show two weeks after my dad passed away and I am so privileged to be surrounded by such compassionate people. I believe the atmosphere Okeechobee gives is like no other, it’s no wonder why people say this is their favorite festival. Only a two hour drive from Orlando, but I was able to camp with friends and be able to show my dad that I’m strong enough for him!

Unfortunate that I don’t have many photos from this job but I was able to work VIP box office with Ultra Miami back in March. Miami in the spring is always so beautiful with the weather being just right. I had a really wonderful team to work with as well and especially an amazing boss. Working in the beginning of this year has been tough with my dad passing and bosses like these were my rock. I’m lucky to be able to have an immediate understanding support system just by being able to be sympathetic for one another. I digress, the show went great! Lots of scammers on the street though which is always repetitive to say “you got scammed girl, you’re in Miami.” There really isn’t anything you can do but cut your losses :/ Beautiful venue.

My 3rd festival this year, Dreamville gave me the opportunity to become acquainted with ScoreMore. I worked box office and had the pleasure of getting my good friend an opportunity to become a manager for this show. Love to see my friends do great things even if it is just small steps within the industry, I’m happy to be apart of it!

Shaky Knees was a wonderful time to be acquainted with C3 Presents. Atlanta remains one of my favorite cities to visit and I hope to return soon. I worked box office this round and to me in the beginning stages of event work what matters is getting any work you can get. I appreciate being able to be well versed in the front gate tech and being able to help new festival workers get adjusted to the tech as well.

My 2nd elevated experience show with Ins*mniac. Forbidden Kingdom was also local to me which is always a privilege to be able to work close with a small team of hard working folks. This event really put me to work and I’m always appreciative of my bosses who are willing to show me the ropes. I also had a good time watching everyone in their medieval dragon themed rave outfits, a fun show for the books! I also had to show off how nice my skin looked that day and my forever altering appearance.

My fourth vip enhanced experience position with Ins*mniac and I had the pleasure of doing it from home! Skyline Orlando I hope with time blossoms into a greater production than what it’s currently working with, but even now this party gives such an intimate experience to its guests. This team was one of my favorites being so small, but each one of my coworkers were great individuals to be around. I hope to see more work on the east coast from them!

EDC LV was exhausting, but I always have the privilege working with this team. This being the 3rd elevated experience team with Ins*mniac. I definitely struggled to get on site coming from out of state without a car and then had to suffer a wind storm that came through the campsite, so I was able to receive compensation for my hotel stay that I needed to feel secure in. Safety is of course my main priority and I hope the biggest festival in the country realizes that for all staff in the near future. However, this department killed it all things considered. I also hope posting about my experiences never puts my line of work in jeopardy, but what’s said needs to be said.

film, iPhone, and a horrible grainy flash photo that was taken on accident. My trip to Primavera in Barcelona was bitter sweet, it was my first international festival that I took a break from working. I bought VIP tickets for both weekends and it was crazy observing the dynamic of this fest from a production perspective. This blog is all from an objective point a few but I met some caring people on this trip solo. I hope to be able to work this event in the near future once I master my Spanish :)!

I was able to have the privilege to work as a shuttle line manager for Rolling Loud this past weekend. Even though the job itself was relatively easy, I came to my first work co-manager relationship that I had a difficult time being able to make my voice heard. Working as young adult in this industry this last weekend gave me the reality check that ageism and passive aggressive coworkers will try to take advantage of your age.
I was able to confront my issue in the end and thats all you can do. Even if it goes bad, at least you tried to have your voice heard. Women in the industry should always try to support one an another, but some just aren’t as willing. Stay positive!
