Fun fact for people who might not know this: Spider Noir is canonically weaker than most versions of Spider-Man.

It’s pretty well known at this point that Spider-Man holds back during fights because he doesn’t actually want to seriously hurt or kill anyone. Noir is a little less inclined to that particular aspect of Spider-Man, so naturally the man really isn’t holding back. He goes 100% every fight and will still sometimes get his ass handed to him. He is almost constantly in kill or be killed survival mode. This is also part of the reason why he wears bullet proofing, wears all black, has weapons like guns, and goes for more of a stealth approach.

Chapter 1: The Meeting in the Virtual World

Kaden, known as "Cosmic" in the online world, was a popular streamer who loved playing horror games. Their streams were full of spooky stories and thrilling gameplays that attracted quite a lot of viewership but not really enough to gain anything from it. One day, while playing a new horror game, they met a guy named Alex, another player who shared their passion for scary adventures. They quickly became friends, chatting and playing together almost every night after Kaden streamed. They would talk about their pasts, their hopes, and dreams, and found out they had a lot in common. As they played and talked, Kaden and Alex eventually started to develop feelings for each other, but they had never seen each other's faces as Kaden wasn't comfortable displaying themselves online.

Chapter 2: A Surprising Discovery

Life had an interesting twist for them. Kaden and Alex, without knowing, lived in the same apartment building on Dark Street. upon talking more, namely about their mental health, they found out they even had the same therapist and were on the same medication for their mental health, what are the odds!? More likely than you think as another resident Kate was also on the same meds from the same therapist. Finally, they decided to meet in person. The moment they saw each other, they felt like they had known each other forever who knew someone who once seemed so far was so damn close! They lived on the same floor! The introduction face to face was a little awkward as they both don't really know how to talk to one another but it wasn't unpleasant.

Chapter 3: The Nightmare Begins

Things took a scary turn when Kaden and Alex started seeing strange things in their apartment building. Eyes watching them from the walls, monsters lurking in the shadows, people they once knew sounded and looked off, speaking eerily. The lights had hands reaching from them and the vents bled a thick meat like ooze... It was like their horror games had come to life. They were trapped inside the building, no matter how many buttons they pushed in the elevator they couldn't stop going up! There was no way to the main floor... There's no way to escape. It felt like a nightmare they couldn't wake up from and they were terrified.

Chapter 4: Escape and Aftermath

With the help of their mutual friend, Kate, who lived on the 2nd floor, they tried to escape, Kate mentioned that you could jump out the window and be on the ground floor OUTSIDE the building. the fall wouldn't hurt them! Kate, who was in this shared hallucination, tried to burn down the building with Alex and Kaden. Before too long though, Adam, Kaden's mutual friend and detective showed up. He was investigating this strong of missing people and murders from people who have gone "crazy" He called Firefighters and the police came, and the 3 were taken to the hospital. The doctors found out that the medication they were on was causing horrible unbreakable hallucinations that altered the mind so intensely that it caused a negative reaction, making the users feral, they seen friends as enemies and often resorted to violence after too long. After getting the right treatment, Kaden, Kate and Alex were safe, the therapist was investigated and taken to prison, but things had changed.

Chapter 5: New Challenges and New Beginnings

After the incident, Alex developed agoraphobia, a fear of going outside, and Kaden started suffering from paranoia and anxiety. They both had a lot of traumas to deal with after what they went through. But they had each other. Their bond, formed in the virtual world and tested in a real-life nightmare, had grown even stronger. They supported each other, understanding what the other was going through, they even invited Kate to their places regularly to check up on her.

Chapter 6: Together Against the World

Kaden and Alex became a couple, facing their challenges together. They found comfort and strength in each other. Even though life had thrown a scary other wordily horror at them, they found love and hope in the midst of it. Their journey wasn't easy, but together, they were ready to face whatever came their way because nothing in the rest of their lives would be as bad as that horrifying experience.

okay people it’s atsv time. guys. i remember almost nothing from the movie (talk about bad memory!!) but GODDDD DAMMM miles rlly been drug through the MUD. his whole body language the whole movie, the way he was left out so many times, betrayed by those he could trust and the way he LOOKED AG PETER B KN THE VENT TJING?? i think people, including myself, need to calm down about the ben reilly thing in ATSV

i know we're all upset because of the way he was treated, and the way he went out, and "why is miguel being treated with respect and accuracy while ben is the edgy 90s comics joke despite them both being from edgy 90s comics" (not to mention that peter was actually the edgy one during those days, it was ben who was more lighthearted and taught peter how to be himself again after becoming so jaded, but uh, we had miles help peter go through that arc in ITSV so i dunno what you expected and i dont know why you'd bring that up)

i get that, hell, before today i was on your side too

but i feel ATSV ben is harmless, and the only thing wrong with all of that was the timing

if you're a ben reilly fan, you know that for like, the past decade or so, feels like, he's been treated like utter garbage

we had that fakeout return in kaine's scarlet spider comic, the clone conspiracy fiasco, the peter david run that shouldve been amazing but editorial hates ben reilly, faking us out again by making ben spider-man again, then making him chasm, nick lowe saying ben has no place in spider-man, then the dumbass dark web "king chasm" thing

but lets be honest, we all know that the directors and writers of ATSV had no ill will towards this, and they didnt *mean* to upset us

they did the same thing with noir a few years back, we can assume they wanted to do the same thing with ben

the only reason noir didnt sting and this *does,* is because of the terrible hand that ben's been dealt

the guys behind spider-verse know their stuff, we know they do, but think: all of the stuff that happened to ben happened during the time they were working on *both* spider-verse films

and when you're pushing animation past its limits and reinventing the wheel, and trying to put your best foot forward in writing, directing, all that, you dont really have time to *know* what the hell is going on in recent comics

yes, spider-verse was inherently built on something recent, but to that i say, first time we heard about that miles animated film was like, 2014, 2015? and lets be honest, the original film pretty much has nothing to do with the original spider-verse comics

i'd say across the spider-verse, moreso, is an adaptation of it, and even then, it just takes the general premise of A BUNCH of spider-people and two teams of them going to war with each other

so lets all calm down, okay?

Chapter 1: Strange Days

Ages ago, I don’t remember when or how, maybe it just appeared in my home, I don’t know, but an oversized Russian nesting doll and ornate vase have just been sitting in the living room/kitchen/dining room of my apartment for a day or so. I have the memory of a potato, get used to it. I’m tempted to just sell the vase and make maybe like $5 off it, but something about it is intriguing. The doll, however, is just cursed looking and kinda funny - it has some furious looking rich guy on it. This guy is wearing a fedora and a large coat, a tie accented with a large spider, and just has his hands folded over another on top of a cane. If I had money, I’d wanna dress like this guy, he could be the antagonist opposing Humphrey Bogart in a nineteen forties noir. He looks like if I stared into his eyes too long, two bolts of lightning would be shot from his eyes and land directly into my own, and I’d probably be possessed by him. Even if this probably has a large sum of money the IRS would have me assassinated for, I have no intention of opening it, not just because it may possess me but also I think it’s just neat.

Just like those chain letters from the early days of the internet, something had to go wrong, and I wish it were me who accidentally knocked down that doll. When I entered my apartment, my cat meowed at me more than she usually does, an adorable way to be welcomed home but there was something odd about the environment. Maybe I’ve seen too many seventies horror movies centered around home invasion, maybe my apartment is having a carbon monoxide leak for some reason, who knows. My cat led me to the display of my assorted knickknacks to see not only the doll’s outermost shell gone, not only a bunch of roaches, but more importantly and bizarrely, a tall man at the table. The man looked almost exactly like who was on the shell, however he’s apparently not cursed looking in the flesh. “I see your little friend here has free-”, “WHAT THE HELL, MAN” I tried to keep my voice low enough so my neighbors won’t think I’ve finally lost it, “I woke up today to a clean house, and now I have a goddamned cockroach infestation, and the cat isn’t even eating any of them!” I look to see my cat just playing with the roaches. “Do you have any idea how pissed my landlord will be if he knows about this? Fuck, do you even know how much it costs to get these bastards exterminated?!” my arms flailed around like a conspiracy theorist’s, suddenly I was thrown against a wall, wrists restrained by a pair of knives that were also thrown against the wall, it doesn’t help that this man looks like a whore.

“When am I?” he calmly asked, I don’t want to say that he was devouring my soul just by staring into my eyes, but that’s what it feels like. “When are you what? I think you mean-”, “No, you idiot, when in time am I?” he leaned his head into mine and left an inch of space between our faces. “Oh” I looked towards the floor, and back at him, “you see, hold on, what’s your name?”, “Horvath”. I couldn’t help but smile and giggle, this guy is living his life looking like a  and his name is literally “Whorevath? You even kinda dress like a whore, why does this make sense?” I lost it, “this dude’s name is Whorevath, imagine being named Whore-DUDE, WHAT THE FUCK?” he hit one of my legs with the jewel end of his cane. “What happened to it?” he asked bluntly. My brows, knitted, I looked down and looked at him again “what do you mean?” I asked. He hit me again “the ring”. “Look, buddy, I’m not going to tell you anything if you keep hitting me, I can get you hitting me out of irritation of me poking fun at your name since you look like you stepped off of the set of a nineteen thirties drama, no offense to the men in those movies who didn’t abuse women, but that’s besides the point.” In response he dropped the cane to the floor and focused on me. He once again asked me about a ring, “the only rings I have are in one of two jewelry boxes, and they’re in my room. And I highly doubt you mean any rings from the thirties, the forties, or the fifties, well considering how you dress, I have like one or two rings from the thirties, and they belonged to my grandma.” Horvath let me down, and made his way to my bedroom.

He made his way to my tall dresser, opened all the drawers of the small yet tall brown jewelry box decorated with a stained glass flower. Top drawer held a pair of Vulcan/Romulan (or elf) ear prosthetics, a Starfleet insignia key chain, a necklace an old friend of mine made for me, and two cat figurines. Second drawer held the only rings I remember having, a small piece of turquoise embedded in probably a silver ring, my grandma’s class ring from nineteen thirty eight, and a ring with miscellaneous gems embedded in it. “Are you sure these are the only rings you have?” Horvath pondered, “keep looking, I hardly look through my jewelry, do I look like I ever have any occasion to wear any of it?”. Next drawer: two watches, clip-on earrings from the thirties to the fifties (they used to be classy and stylish, I know, this concept should be brought back), and a pink rose brooch. Still no ring.

“What does it look like?” I asked, he said it has a dragon on the top. “Yeah, no, I don’t think I have any dragon rings, but you can keep looking if you want.” I shrugged. Bottom box, just assorted necklaces, oof. After moving the knickknacks on my beige jewelry box, also probably from the thirties (maybe fifties, who knows), to my dresser, he attempted to open it. “The key for it is in a blue ring box in that compartment with the door in the brown jewelry box.”, instead of doing what I recommended, he used his cane to somehow pick the lock. “You have quite the collection” he remarked, “thanks, I decided to inherit what I wanted when I was in high school, well over a decade after she passed. However, the Star Trek earrings and cat earrings were gifts to me. Then again, most of the Star Trek stuff I own were either bought by me or gifts. The rest of my grandma’s jewelry, however, belongs to my mom in a tall jewelry box, and uh, I don’t recall seeing anything dragon related in it, not even in my mom’s stuff did I see anything dragon related.” I explained. I gave up, just thinking all I had in there were earrings and necklaces, he glared at me. “So, I was right, I don’t have anything dragon related in my jewelry collection.” I cheerfully said, even though I was being pinned to the wall with my own knives.

He began looking around, and then at me, “I’ve read enough smut to know where this is going” I stared at the ceiling. “You know, I can hear your thoughts”, "for the record, never read my thoughts." I just blinked at him. “What do you need this ring for anyway? Don’t tell me it’s for world domination, I’ve seen that one before, and I don’t think you’d be cool with a ragtag team of characters beating the shit out of you. That would be kinda funny though,” I giggled, “imagine stepping out of the 1930s and immediately getting your ass kicked by some hippies, an old guy, and tall” I was cut off as my eye mask was forced into my mouth. First it was the knives, now it’s my sleeping mask, “you got the mask on the wrong place, asshole” I was muffled behind the fabric. I would think something, but I’m not jinxing this.

“Since my previous apprentice failed Morgana and I, you’ll have to do for a last minute apprentice.” he looked into my eyes. “So, uh, who’s this Morgana?” I asked, he gave me a crash course on the lore of them. Basically, Morgana was Merlin’s arch nemesis who in a way said ‘fuck this shit, and fuck you’ and has the opposite perspective on sorcery that Merlin had, as well as Merlin himself. Morgana wanted to do her own thing and be an individual sorceress, as well as destroy Earth, fair enough. I don’t blame her, especially seeing how civilization as a whole has gone to shit in the past century. You can guess that Merlin was into using sorcery for the life longevity and prosperity of the human race, obviously they’re doomed to be enemies. While Merlin and Morgana were dueling, Horvath stole a page from Merlin’s book - specifically the page about this all powerful spell known as “the rising”. Then the other student of Merlin, Veronica, ingested the soul of Morgana, and she herself was turned into a Russian nesting doll, just like Horvath was, and now the other apprentice, Balthazar, is also on a mission but to stop Horvath from enslaving and genociding humanity. “So, you’re telling me that my favorite horror franchise is real ? We got an ancient book that I doubt was bound in human flesh and inked in blood, ancient incantations, enslaving humanity, and an army of the dead. And tragically the guy that plush over there on my bed is based on, as well as that figurine on my windowsill, and that cross stitch piece on my beige jewelry box, Ash by the way, isn’t going to fall from the heavens, find you, kick your ass, and save humanity. Goddammit.” I said in a disappointed manner, all the while Horvath stared at me. “Will you help me?” he asked, having nothing better to do with my mundane life, I accepted.

To be honest, this could work. With the right CGI, acting, keeping characters in character, and respecting the lore and tone, a live action Gargoyles can be as fantastic as Sam Raimi's live action Spider-Man. Dare I say that if they do this right in every single way down to the fine details, it just might be the media that saves Disney.

Or... it could be such a disaster that it will just be one of the final nails in Disney's coffin. And I have to admit that for a moment I was excited, but then a wave of worry washed over me and drowned out that excitement because I don't trust Disney right now. They have been making one live action remake after the other and each one becomes progressively more disrespectful towards the original and winds serving as a vehicle for politics of culture wars, race/gender/orientation/etc. swaps that wind up doing more harm than good and using medias that just don't work in live action (Lady and the Tramp, The Lion King, the upcoming Bambi to name a few). And my mind just doesn't paint a very positive picture on what a live action Gargoyles would look like today in the hands of Disney's creative team right now.

For the record, Gargoyles already touches topics like xenophobia, racism, elitism, capitalism, family drama, conspiracy and interracial romance, so I would rather they didn't add frosting to a cake that's already covered in icing. Yet I have to confess that if it was up to me, I would rather this series was rebooted as a 2D animated series because it allows for more flexibility, they're more recognizable that way and I would demand that they keep them looking serious, edgy and noire. No cutesy changes, no small bean style and please don't make the characters all look like kids. With that said, for it work in today's day and age while still keeping its identity, it would have to be rated R. Not PG and definitely NOT G.

And most importantly, I hope that everyone on it knows the source material from front to back, loves it and is willing to respect it 100%. Like I said, this is either going to be really great or it's going to be a total flop, but... like I said, I don't trust Disney.

I'll give it a chance, but if my episode three, I don't like what I'm seeing (provided this comes to pass), I'm done.

If spider noir wasn’t kicked off the ‘elite spider task force’ (I think he was but Imma keep going anyways) then the reason I think he would quit, besides general bad vibes, is Miguel referring to Robbie’s death as a canon event. That man would turn fucking feral.

reading Watchmen and deciding Spider-Man Noir is also a racist conspiracy theory psychopath

The resemblance and inspiration with Spider-man is more than obvious for Miraculous ladybug. I immediately noticed the commonalities between the Marinette/Ladybug vs Gabriel Agreste/Monarch and Peter Parker/Spider-man vs Norman Osborn/Green Goblin dualities. And I always thought that Adrien was a bit of a fusion between Peter Parker's love interests (if we take the parksborn ship into account ^^) with his model side that can be associated with Mary Jane Watson, his heroic Chat Noir identity which is very clearly reminiscent of Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat, and finally the "son of an abusive father who turns out to be the main nemesis of the protagonist hero" side which is actually of Harry Osborn's situation

Also at this point of the story in Miraculous, Kagami Tsurugi is also kinda another Harry Osborn, she's friend with the main heroin with whom she was manipulated against at some point (And she's also shipped with Marinette by the fandom ^^), and she has an abusive mother who is a rich business woman who is part is a supervillain conspiracy

It's also interresting to notice that for both Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Peter Parker, their superhero powers and duties always represent an heavy burden they would be happy to leave behind but can't due to a sense of responsability and a desire to save and protect everyone. And in the end, to Marinette and Peter, their Ladybug and Spider-man hero identities always bring them more downside and misery than we can even think about

once again using miraculous ladybug to prove how good parksborn is and how it is a viable spiderman ship:

so we’ve got the red bug-themed protagonist that meets a rich boy at school who they don’t get along with at first. this rich boy just so happens to be the son of the main villain who lost his wife, sucks at being a father, and who’s occupation just so happens to be what the protagonist wants to become. they become friends and the rich boy feels much safer with the protagonist than in his own home, caring about the protagonist deeply. the protagonist, obviously, feels the same way.

the only major differences is the fact that adrien is also a superhero who works alongside the superhero form of the protagonist and loves her, while harry does not work with spiderman and instead hates him, leading him to work against the superhero form of the protagonist. another one worth noting is that adrien has stopped trying to impress his father and is now only trying to stand up to him and be free, while harry is always trying to impress his father and never stops until the end.

once they find out who the other is, adrien and marinette start dating, and harry looses all malice toward spiderman, so if he was a girl they would start dating. it’s clear the protagonist is the one the rich boy cares most about in both situations.

alas, i sit there and watch miraculous and just keep thinking “this is thomas writing out his parksborn fanfiction.”
