Here are our personal faves from this year’s main collection, though we definitely encourage you to check them ALL out!

On a Beach, With You (The Tel Aviv Remix) by niniblack [Cherik, NC17]

Charles Xavier meets Erik Lehnsherr on a beach in Israel.

Mod Note: A wonderful ‘first meeting’ fic full of romance and sex - our favorite things!

No Place Like Here by still_lycoris [Cherik, NC17]

Erik does some night wandering and some night thinking. Bumping into Charles slightly derails both of these things.

Mod Note: Sexy, with gorgeous characterization.

Common Ground by arcapelago (arcanewinter) [Gen, PG13]

When a dinosaur fossil is found right on the Xavier estate, Raven is surprised at Charles' indifference.

Mod Note: We were blown away at how much this fic made us FEEL about their relationship (and others) post-XMA. Nice handling of Raven’s role as teacher/trainer, and great interaction between her and Scott. :D

Beginnings (every first time remix) by Red [Erik/Magda, Cherik, NC17]

Once, Magda knew Erik completely—even that he had powers, even that he preferred the company of men. But it's been a lifetime since their wedding day, and by the time they're reuniting in a freezing hotel room, they’ve spent longer believing each other dead than ever they knew each other alive.

Mod Note: A gorgeous fic that answers the ‘how’ of Erik and Magda getting together pre-XMA. Beautiful and bittersweet. 

Somewhere I'm Going & Have Never Been Before by Yahtzee [Cherik, PG13]

In late December 1984, Charles falls victim to the terrible pandemic sweeping across the globe. He's sick, probably dying, and utterly alone in an isolated cabin...until he's not.

Mod Note: Charles and Erik together at the end of the world is OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE THING. This is perfect hurt/comfort with a happy ending. :D
