random thoughts rereading trk part 1:

the prologue will always kill me… “this was the year he was going to die” gansey that is making me want to die wtf

the fact that gwenllian is described as putting a bunch of shit in her hair and wearing a bunch of different layers and blue keeps complaining. babe the only difference is that she’s tall

okay we do basically get confirmation that blue amplifies ronan’s dreaming! i wasn’t sure whether it was implied or stated

the money i would pay to get the scene where blue threw that guys (his names holtzclaw?) backpack over his car. like what even happened before that

“ronan’s jealousy of henry was visible from space” king he said three words to gansey. you’ll live. no wonder adam thought you were such an asshole at first i can’t even imagine

Adam “i usually don’t take sides but that’s bullshit” Parrish putting ronan in his place during the gansey v lynch divorce argument

im a uni student who has been obsessed with trc and aftg for like 6 years (i used to have a booktok account of the same name that i posted a lot of bird-book content on, if you ever followed me on there pls lmk!!

my account contains lots of spoilers for the raven cycle series, the dreamer trilogy, and all for the game (haven’t read tsc yet but i still repost stuff about it) please don’t scroll if you’re scared of being spoiled

i post fics on strange_constellation on AO3! mostly bluesey but i have a couple aftg x trc crossovers on my page or that im working on

for things outside of trc/aftg i love all things music, especially lorde, fiona apple, radiohead, ethel cain, and lucy dacus, as well as musical theatre (spring awakening, next to normal, rent) for shows i love the bear, daisy jones and the six, new girl

okay i saw a post talking about ronan in the dreamer triology only really viewing “his people” as his brothers and adam, and not gansey anymore which like deeply hurts don’t get me wrong i wanna cry but i think it’s so interesting for their characters:

the biggest reason i think is because the dreamer trilogy can technically be read as a stand alone and gansey isn’t in it a lot, it wouldn’t make sense to mention him tons (this does annoy me a bit when this happens, not that i want like a fan-servicey mention every three seconds but it’s frustrating when you have four books of friendship and then it’s just abandoned, like even if it’s a standalone, it’s also a spinoff yk?)

but more interestingly, i think it goes to show the level of trust ronan has in gansey living.

the only way ronan survived after niall’s death was focusing on gansey as a guide and being his protector. he fervently dreams cures for stings for a guy destined to die, and attaches all of his worth and purpose onto gansey.

but now, gansey lived and will live, and doesn’t need ronan anymore to save him. it’s so bittersweet because they still are brothers and love each other but it will never be the same anymore

ronan views adam and his brothers as his sole responsibility and himself as their protector, while he knows that gansey will live and keep living, and that blue will be there to love and protect him. of course he holds a little resentment towards them for leaving, but i think he knows that gansey needs to move on, which is why he almost disregards gansey and doesn’t trouble him with any of his problems.

i don’t think it’s a case of ronan forgetting gansey or loving him any less. it’s just that they are not eachothers responsibility anymore. (but i still imagine the guilt gansey would feel after learning what’s happened to ronan…)

so like. we all know that the reason gansey was so intense about ronan graduating and adam moving out of his dad's house was because he knew he was going to die that year and wanted to make sure his friends were set without him right

random headcannons for trc: part 2

gansey will drop the craziest dad lore randomly from his time travelling, like adam will say something about cults and he’ll be like “oh yes, i was involved in one in mexico! :)” and will not explain further

blue starts swearing a ton after becoming friends with ronan

adam and blue start making bets about things, especially at gansey washington galas (no ronan and gansey are not allowed to join)

ronan was the cutest kid. like so adorable that declan regularly wonders how he turned into such an asshole

gansey starts spending a lot more time at fox way and becomes maura’s favourite now because of how much he loves blue (and know that she knows he won’t like die)

mr gray teaches blue self-defence and gives her a light course on how to be a hitman (in case ecology doesn’t work out!)

blue and matthew get along very well, which secretly warms ronan’s heart. his two little siblings

Pynch is forever S tier because Ronan is like the first time I ever saw him I knew I had to have him, because subconsciously I knew he was the presence I dreamt of all those years ago in my loneliest of times, and I begged God for even the slightest sliver of a chance. And Adam is like the first time I saw him he outperformed me at groceries and that was when I knew I had to sell my soul to become an academic weapon. Also it wasn't him.

does anyone in the trc fandom think about how iirc noah had a gf when he died??? do we even have a name for her? like every thing we know abt noah sorta points to him as this like. bombastic creative life-of-the-party guy, but ive never really see people talk about the fact that he definitely had friends (and a girlfriend!) outside of whelk

admittedly, his gf was cheating on him, but yk. you get my point
