A little late but would still be fantastic to use these tips in regards to the first day of the month!
Witchy New Year Refresh
It’s the new year soon and I wanted to share what I plan to do to invite 2024 in with vim and vigor!
I plan to do this over a few weeks as doing it all at once would be exhausting and just isn’t possible for me. Do what works for you and listen to your mind and body!
Clean and Cleanse
Not just spiritually, but I plan to physically clean my space. Any time I am inviting something new into my home—be it the new year, new energy, or a new way of thinking—I clean and cleanse my space.
I’m not one for spiritual sterility, though. I tend to deep clean or organize my spaces and then I will move on to spiritually cleaning my space! Here are some ways you can do this:
Smoke cleansing - a common one but it’s a good one! Not a great option if you have asthma or pets.
Open windows - It’s pretty cold where I am right now but I still like to open the windows for a little bit to let the air flow through the space and carry out any stagnant air and energy.
Sound cleansing - Not always the best option for folks who live with others or have thin walls but I like to blast music and fill my space with sound. When doing this I prefer to use a playlist that invokes the energy I want to bring with me into the new year!
Spray incense - If smoke isn’t possible for you try using a sprayable incense! Just be careful since this will still distribute a substance across your space and if you have children or pets it’s best to use non-toxic plants for this.
Simmer pot - I love to throw together a simmer pot for cleansing my space. I find it works best in the room you’re in which is likely the kitchen but if you have a wax warmer or mug warmer then you can make a mini simmer pot by placing a heat-safe container of water on it and putting in whatever herbs and oils you want!
Connect and Reconnect
I have ADHD and if something is out of sight, it’s out of mind. To this point, I tend to forget about my oracle/tarot decks, offering vessels, and spell vessels. Here’s a few ways I plan to try to connect and reconnect with the spirits and energy around me.
Clean and organize altars or offering spaces - Self-explanatory but this means dusting, wiping down, and moving things around. It could also mean adding new things and tossing old things that have served their purpose.
Set out new offerings - I plan to try and truly connect to my house spirit(s) this year so I want to find a space in the home where I feel like I can best feel its energy and I will leave an offering. This also means refreshing offerings for deities.
Check-in with spell vessels - I’m a very physical witch, I tend to prefer having a real-world anchor for my spells. This adds up, though, and I’m stuck with a bunch of jars, bowls, pouches, or whatever else. Check-in and see if they’re still active or if you still need to maintain the physical aspect of the spell. If not, dispose of them appropriately.
New Year’s meditation - Practicing mindfulness and doing a meditation session to help me connect with myself going into the new year.
Shadow work or self-care - Shadow work is a form of self-care to me, though some of it can be intense and that’s not how I want to start my new year. Instead, I’ll be doing either some very gentle shadow work or I will be otherwise practicing simply self-care.
Misc
Other things you can do for the new year that I don’t have a category for!
Make a hearty and satisfying breakfast on New Year's Day to welcome in the new year--or at least a satisfying cup of coffee!
Drink tea that invokes the energy you’d like to follow you into the new year.
Make a list of things you would like to learn or try in the new year as far as your practice goes.
Here are some posts to look through for the coming year!

Beginner Witch Things to Research
So many older - more experienced - witches tell beginner - baby - witches to start with researching things like protection spells, grounding, cleansing and warding but what do you research afterward? These are just a few things that I would recommend every individual to research, regardless of how experienced you may think you are.
Carl Jung's Map of the Soul This is where the archetypes stem from, a what a lot of witches dread doing - Shadow Work. Shadow Work is uncovering not just traumatic ventures of our pasts but also revealing what made and makes us who we are today. Studying where it all started makes working through your own shadow a lot less stressful and a lot hammering on the soul, it also leads to a lot less martyrdom in the spiritual community.
Honing in on your psychic abilities and Intuition Gaining the ability is easy, everyone has these abilities, you just have to work to get them to where you want them to be. Remember a spiritual practice is still a practice, you have to put in the effort to get better, just as you would a physical sport or an instrument.
Egregores and Amalgamations vs. Deitys vs. Pop Culture Deitys Egregores and amalgamations exist solely in the astral plane and can (and will) mimic, imitate, and parody deities. Being able to decern these, especially with your intuition will always provide useful. Learning that Lucifer from Dantes' Inferno is reaching out to you versus aspected, epithetic source Lucifer will give you a much better relationship and outcome in your practice.
Deity Work vs. Deity Worship Offering play a key role when learning to decern these from each other. You can in fact, do both, but be warned deities get jealous of each other.
Find what you love and surround yourself with it Incorporating things that you love into your practice and not actually doing what you love about your practice is one of the key differences I saw in my practice when I learned how to differentiate them. I found incoporating pop culture media into my practice made me get burnout from both that piece of pop culture and my spiritual practices.
Finding a form of divination that you are most comfortable with Everyone likes using cartomancy, divination using cards or pieces of paper, is the most common form of divination, but learning your favorite form of divination will help avoid burnout and creating tension for yourself in your practice.

I’m not native american or indigenous to the land I live in. So i can’t speak as an authority on this subject
but I will speak based off of what my indigenous friends and local indigenous practitioners have told me
If you’re concerned about using white sage, if you’re worried it’s closed or whatever but you want to use it, this applies to all herbs by the way,
simply, very simply
BUY WHITE SAGE FROM INDIGENOUS PEOPLE.
BUY 👏 WHITE SAGE 👏 FROM INDIGENOUS PEOPLE 👏👏👏
SUPPORT INDIGENOUS BUSINESSES
White sage is a common herb in hoodoo and other folk practices outside of the indigenous peoples of America, the native americans were not the only ones to use it. It is a very important herb to multiple groups of people. This does not mean to say that it isn’t tragically over harvested by large corporations that expend the very culturally significant resource from actual practicing natives.
SO BUY WHITE SAGE FROM INDIGENOUS PEOPLE
That’s all you have to do. Put some money into the pockets of indigenous people. If you can buy it in person, even better, you can speak to indigenous people and learn a thing or two about its use. Every single time I’ve bought herbs from indigenous people (not just sage, literally anything) they’re always so welcoming and happy that I’m there. They’re excited to share. All of my herbs and tools come directly from small local farmers and artist markets. We have one in my town every Wednesday and one in the city every Sunday. You most probably have some going on where you live too. Take the time to look around.
I consider interacting with these small businesses to be a devotional act, and it’s a million times more fulfilling than buying a bundle on amazon or from the witchy section of the craft store, not knowing whether the shit is quality or even what it claims to be.
I think the “white sage is banned point blank period” take is extremely retractive, especially when white people start talking over indigenous people so they can crowd control other white folks.
Most of the harvesters of white sage are indigenous, and it’s silly as fuck to see people harassing indigenous sellers on etsy because it’s “closed”. It sucks to see their sales dip to an all time low because everyone is being told to avoid them.
I wish the popular opinion this entire time had just been “witches who are not native can only use white sage that comes from native harvesters. We’re collectively cancelling big corp herbs and putting all of our attention into uplifting small indigenous businesses.”
All you have to do to assure that you’re not being disrespectful to indigenous people, is support them. This debate is so tired and frankly dumb as hell. It’s so so easy guys. The solution has been in front of us the entire time.

I met someone yesterday who was selling fancy grimoires and dipping ink pens and she said to me "you can't have a grimoire without the right stationary" and I know she was trying to sell me a product but I wanted to talk about it because this is something I see echoed in other aspects of the Witchcraft community:
The idea that Witchcraft has to have a certain level of aesthetic value in order to be valid. This is often also tied into capitalism and buying witchy products, but it can also be something as simple as using a fancy notebook rather than a regular or home-made one for your grimoire/book of shadows.
This is Bullshit.
You can practice Witchcraft without spending any money, by using the products you already own and making and growing what you need. Recycled jars are not inherently less magical than pretty jars with corks you buy in a metaphysical shop. A grimoire in a regular ass notebook is not less magical than one in a leather bound book written in oak gawl ink. A crystal you bought is not necessarily better than a crystal you found at the beach or a river. A spell bag sewn yourself from fabric scraps is not less magical than a spell bag you bought for that purpose. In fact I'd argue in the latter case that sewing it yourself is far better than buying things you have little connection to.
It is important that we de-commercialise our practice, to show working class, disabled and disadvantaged baby witches that Witchcraft is not something you buy. It is something you practice.

I believe in incorporating the plants that live and grow around you into your spiritual practice and common Lilac is prevalent in my neighborhood. During spring it’s incredibly fragrant and I love to harvest the wood and blossoms to make spiritual oils and more. I believe in it comes in a variety of different colors, but I’ll be focusing on its purple and white aspects.
Common Lilac
Gender: Feminine & Masculine
Planet: Venus & Mars
Element: Water & Air
Zodiac: Gemini
Metaphysical powers: Spring, renewal, growth, exorcism, banishing, protection, playfulness, good fortune & misfortune, flirtation, romance, attraction, cognition, memory, wisdom, divination, illusions, pleasure
Lilac wood is commonly used to enhance memory, concentration and more due to its air like properties. This wood is excellent for wands and is also said to be a great offering to forest spirits.
Allegedly, according to several sources the sprigs are used in Russia to imbue children with luck and wisdom. In the UK, in a small localized part of England it was believed to be bad luck to bring white lilacs into the house, but finding one with five petals was considered lucky. The purple and red varieties were less feared but were excluded from house decor as bringers of misfortune.
Since the flowers only bloom for a short period, just a couple of weeks depending on where you live, you only get a brief period of time to harvest, the fragrant blossoms. They typically appear between Beltane & Litha, but often can start budding in late spring in April. This is why they are also associated with spring, renewal, growth and perseverance since they also have the ability to push and penetrate through harsh an heavy winter energies. They’re great for initiating and facilitating energetic breakthroughs and new growth.
In these fairly modern times, they are used for banishing negative energy, ghosts, ghouls and other assorted haunts, specifically the purple variety. They are also considered a romantic sort of flower, that inspires flirtation, playfulness, summer flings/love and short attractions. It may not bring you a marriage proposal but it does bring a fun, playful energy that’s good to incorporate in glamours and love work & it can even defend you from the evil eye.
Could you see yourself incorporating Lilacs into your spiritual practice ?

Kitchen Altars - Placement Pros and Cons
For those unaware, an Altar in Witchcraft is a surface where you do most of your magical or spiritual "stuff". It helps you focus your intentions, harness power, and is your general working space. I see a lot of Kitchen Witches making or wanting to make altars to have in their kitchen. It can give them a space to charge items, to leave offerings, to gather energy and power, ect. They may also use it to invite a specific deity or entity into their kitchen. So what or where can be your Altar? Here are some ideas depending on your needs.
The entire Kitchen This is the route I think many traditional Kitchen Witches Take. An altar is meant to be a working space. Your kitchen is like a swiss army knife of working space. If you want your entire kitchen to be your altar, don't be afraid to add things to Up it's magical energy. Kitchen/Cottage Witch Poppets, Decorative Crystals, Important Symbols, hand made garlands, charms, Whatever.
However, the down side to this is: first, It's harder to stay in the broom closet the more you have on display. I am very lucky in that I don't fear any kind of persecution from family, friends, neighbors, ect. But not everyone feels as secure openly practicing. Second, if you are someone who shares a kitchen with many people like roommates or extended family, you may not be able to set up or decorate the kitchen exactly as you want. Additionally, All these extra people coming in an out at different times with different moods can throw off the energy in the space. So having something separate might work better for you.
Counters Probably the most popular place to set up an altar in a kitchen as it's the most obvious. You may want to set aside a small section of your counter and dedicate it to an altar. A shallow wooden box or tray for you to put your altar in may be a good idea. This is because the main downside to having an altar set up on your counter is you lose counter space. Which can be very valuable. So by building your altar on or in a tray allows you to move it temporarily should you need the extra counter space.
Cupboards or Drawers This is a little more broom closet friendly. You can set up an altar in an obscure cupboard shelf or unused drawer, then open it up when you want to use it. Then when not in use, it's closed up out of sight. Since it's closed off, you don't need to worry as much about dust or kitchen grim. However, the downside is your altar is either taking up valuable storage space or it's in an awkward to get to area. Like that corner cupboard that you need to get on a chair in order to reach the back, or that drawer that can only open when you have the oven door open. If it's a pain in the ass to get to, you're less likely to use it.
Kitchen Table If your table is large enough to hold a bowl or basket as a decorative center piece, consider building your altar in that bowl or basket. This tends to be a great option for those with their foot in the broom closet since the altar can be written off as a decorative piece. It's also good in that it doesn't take up work or storage space. And since it's in a basket or other container, you can move it when you need the space.
The downside is for us witches who are a little more...chaotic...in our organization style. Stuff gets dropped on the kitchen table to be dealt with later, only for later to never come. Mail, clothes, documents, drinking glasses; things just get lost in the layers of time. Your altar may end up lost or damaged.
Windowsill Another popular choice for Kitchen Witches who like to grow herbs or plants. They'll set up their foliage by the window and base an altar around that. Space tends to be a bit limited in these cases, so make sure any additions are small. Also be carful when setting up crystals in your windowsill. While sunlight is great for plants, it can be harmful for some popular crystals like Amethyst and fade the color.
Also, pay attention to how your window opens. If you want to open the window and it slides, or you need to crank a handle, you don't want anything to block the window from opening. And on the flip side, you don't want to damage your altar items if opening the window causes them to fall.
Shelves Specifically shelves that are separate from the kitchen cupboards. You may want to install a floating shelf or just get a corner shelf stand. You can build your altar on one (or all) of the shelf surfaces. It's great as it can be set out of the way but still in an area that's convenient to get to.
The downside tends to be cost and installation. Floating shelves tend to be cheaper than a standing corner shelf. You can find some nice wooden floating shelves at second hand stores or flea markets for anywhere between 10 to 60 dollars. But when you install them, you want to make sure you drill part of it into a wall stud. This helps stop them from falling down. This is assuming you CAN drill into a wall, as many rental agreements don't allow you to put holes in walls. A small, standing shelf is a good alternative and renter friendly. However, you tend to need to buy these new and can cost several hundred dollars. If you or someone you know are good with carpentry, maybe you can build a custom shelf. But new wood is still very expensive.
Fridge Close the fridge, we're not putting it inside. I mean you can; but that might be messy. Most fridges have at lest 1 magnetic surface. And did you know there are a lot of things you can get with magnets attached? Magnetic Jars or Containers, Magnetic shelves, Magnetic hooks- Not to mention the plethora of decorative magnets. I've seen tarot card magnets, moon phase magnets, Astrology magnets, ect. You can arrange your fridge to be a vertical altar.
The downside here being most of these items will probably be bought online, and the quality of the magnetism can vary. Make sure you read reviews and make sure something won't just fall off one day. And avoid pushing the strength of things like Magnetic shelves by loading them up with heavy objects. Another downside may be your fridge doesn't have a magnetic side exposed. Stainless steel fridges tend to not be magnetic on the front. Something about the metal used. They are magnetic on the sides, but if your fridge doesn't have exposed sides due to placement, you may be SOL for a fridge altar.
Outside the Kitchen Lastly, remember that just because you practice kitchen magic, doesn't mean you need to restrict yourself to the kitchen. Kitchen witches are allowed to practice other kinds of magic in addition to kitchen magic. You may want an altar for these situations. So set one up in the living room, dining room, bedroom, backyard, bathroom, wherever works for you. And if it doesn't work for you, don't be afraid to move it!

🔮 spirituality vs witchcraft ✨
many people (especially beginner witches) confuse these two a lot. but where are the differences? what makes one spiritual, when are you a witch?
let's start with spirituality.
spirituality is your very own belief system. that system can be influenced by your religion, your local folklore or the belief in chakras for example. spiritualists believe in the human soul and negative/positive energy. your own way of looking at spirituality may also be different depending on where you grew up; your culture, your family.
HOWEVER, spirituality does NOT equal witchcraft.
witchcraft is, as its name already says, a craft. a personal practice. while witchcraft can be based on culture and religion too, it's more than just a belief in a higher being or magic; it's the combination of that belief and the actual physical practice (such as spells, rituals, chants, ceremonies, kitchen magick, herbal magick and so on).
so in conclusion: being spiritual doesn't automatically make you a witch. being a witch requires a physical practice. and being spiritual for many years doesn't mean that you have the actual experience to call yourself an advanced witch, please keep that in mind!
many spiritualists don't even touch witchcraft. really, it's up to you - find your own path without appropriating and westernizing cultures you don't belong to. always keep that in mind 🖤
also: wicca and witchcraft ARE NOT necessarily the same. wicca is a nature-based religion, witchcraft is the general name for any practice!

#shah mac#i wouldn’t say im a real kabbalist or occultist or theologist or whatever bc i believe that’s something you dedicate your life to#but i’ve read things other than wikipedia and magick in theory and practice and major trends in jewish mysticism 😑#actually they might just read wikipedia

Here's a brief prayer you can say to honour your ancestors during the Samhain season:
May your soul take a soft-footed journey, on a soft-floored path through the old forest to the Land of Comfort, where the only tears are the drops of rain falling from leaves, the only moaning deep ocean swells, the only sighing light evening breezes. Rest in that land, with the peace you have earned.
(This prayer isn't mine, it's from the Pagan Ritual Prayer Book by Ceisiwr Serith)

The Fool's Journey (1 of 3)
~~~~~~~~~~
Just a Disclaimer: english is not my first language, so there will be mistakes. Sorry about that.
Part 2: is available here.
~~~~~~~~~~
Once upon a time... This is how we can start the story of the arcana with no number, The fool. I'll show you one aspect I love the most on the Tarot: its mith.
But first lets get a few things clear before we get to the main subject here. Everything I'm about to tell here is A MITH not a historical event. It holds mysteries on my tradition, and we do not expect it to make sense to everybody.
All I'm about to share is about the Tarot Deck with 78 cards, in wich 22 of them are major arcana and the rest are minors. The story of The Fool goes withing all the major arcana, therefore, the 22 cards all together is the The Fool's Journey.
The first one to tell a story like this was Roberto Caldeira in his book Caminho do Louco, published in Brazil. And one of the aspects of our system towards Tarot is: it tells all the stories, the old ones and the yet to come, so, the one I'm sharing here is my version of it. To see my master's version, get his book.
That being said, here we go. Hope you have fun!
There once was a man who used to live his life like everyone else was. Day by day he did just what everyone was doing: work during the day, ate anything that could look like food, complain about life, complain about others, complain about work, and sleep late in the night just to wake up early next morning to repeat everything, again and again...
One day he woke up, got dressed and walked out the house to go to work when he tripped over his own foot and fell down the stairs. In that moment, while he wasn't neither safe nor on the floor, but somewhere in between, his hole life has passed trough his eyes, and for a fraction of a second it was almost like he was in another reality.
Suddenly, he found himself on a cliff, with a dog chasing him. He quickly noticed his strange clothes and luggage (if we can call it that). Nothing there was understandable to him. He didn't understand what was happening, but overcome by the need to survive, to stay alive, he threw himself off the cliff into the unknown.
This urge to stay alive transformed the man into The Magician.
"OK, Now this?" he thought to himself. He had changed his clothes, had a cape now, everything was so weird. He decided then to open up the bag he was carying, he had to know what was in there...
A sword, a chalice, what seemed to be a disc of gold, and a staff... He knew everything he had carried with him, but what would he do with those was still a mystery.
He than decided he had to keep going, wherever he was going to. This urge kept chasing after him, the urge to live. And so he did. He used the disc as mirror sometimes, had the sword to help on fishing or chasing animals, the staff helped him walk, and the days where going, but not flowing.
He then decided to put his instruments in front of him and did something he had not yet tryed. Observation. And so he stood there, thinking, and in the processes, his mind got free. He was infinite, and he knew it. That moment everything made sense.. He had seen everything, as above so below, and as suddenly as that he changed to The High Priestess.
The Fool is now fully conected and awere of himself in the world. The high priestess has overpassed the mistery, and so our character now understands more of whats happening aroung him. His in some "spiritual existence", or so he thought.
During that time, the Fool got to learn more about his instruments. He then discovered that the sword was all about his soul, his discipline in order to be trustfull. That sword was a reminder that life will train you as a Warior, to fight for your life, for your existence. It's how it works for every being on the planet. We gotta fight for our existence. With discipline.
The chalice was a way of checking his emotions and dealing with them. Remembering to keep his water clean in order not to get thursty! It also showed him that, he was thursty of love, of happiness, of life. Know he could seed that. Oh, and that mirror? Yes, that golden disk reflected him to himself. "Are you worthy? do you feel worthy? what are you wothy for?" As a reminder to forge himself into a better and more beauty version of himself. That just growed bigger and bigger.
That staff became something more to him. Now he had a purpose: to improve. Improve himself for himself. He deserved it! And so he start day by day studying his own life, lookig inside him, fighting his demons.
He was so immersed in the experience he was living, that he barelly saw how much he accomplished. And when he stopet for a bit to look aroung him, everything was diffent. He had became The Empress.
Each achieviment of him was like a child: he was giving birth not to humans, but to his own desire. And there was a bunch of them already, growing all around him. He was no longer thursty for life, or happiness... He started seeing that everything he did had bring something new to his life.
He couldn't be happier. Thouse days were so great he just kept going, chasing his dreams, making them come true. He realized that the urge he felt some time ago was still there, but had chenged, as he did over the time. Something felt different.
He than decided to do what he learned already: ask the universe, life will talk to us. His conection was still on point, and he started to realize he had been manifesting all this glory and life, but where was it? What he had in the end? Was him high? Just as a mother takes responsibility for her children, he needed to take responsibility for his dreams too. It would not be enough to reach them, we must maintain them.
So, our man started to put order in his life. He had a sword, he need to discipline himself. And that made him The Emperror.
Disciplined, our Emperor conquered his life, dominated his daily life facing his main enemy: laziness.
It didn't take long until this whole result catch the attention of the people around. It's not every day that you see a kingdom emerge out of nowhere like this, in your neighbor's backyard. After attracting so much attention, the emperor ended up noticing the society around him.
Thus he observed the people, their customs, and noticed a lot of himself in others. He noticed his old tricks, his struggles, his improvements. They weren't that different, and he could see that.
And suddenly he asked himself: "everything I've been doing, everything I've been fighting for: my wealth, my success, my work, my life, is all of this my will or is it theirs? Who made me?"
Thinking about that, with all the discipline he had learned with the emperor, it was not difficult for him to change again, this time into the Hierofant.
Society is such a complex theme, don't you think? We organize our lifes in so many different ways, with different traditions, with different gods (or its absense). The Fool as deeply mesmerized by the fact that he had been following rules over rules, and all of it was our. We made them. So they made him. That's what he was thinking. He had to do something differente. And so he tried.
He decided to test and question every rule he came across, and in this process a lot happened. He discovered new places, with new people, who had new customs. And when he put into practice what he had learned in the last few months, he came to the same conclusion: Whenever I discover something, I become aware of something, I have the opportunity to dive into it, and when I see results I know: discipline leads to success. The magician, the high priestess, the empress and the emperor had already taught this to the Fool.
Thus he realized that yet another mystery had been revealed: society. Yes, all of us. Our complexity, our characteristics, our possibilities of existence. What do we devote our lives to? He questioned himself rhetorically.
In that moment he wondered, what do I want to do now? And the Lovers he became.
He look up and saw an angel. Was it god? Could it be god? Well, there was no need to worry about the answer. He just asked, and got answered.
After a while, The fool learned so manythings with the angel that got him into thinking that everytime he decided to do something, his wish as blessed by God. Even the bad choices he made was blessed. If life was a road, it sould be a big crossing streets, and the present time is right in the middle of it.
Every decision he made took him somewhere. Some places were goog, other not so much. When he choosed to give himself the attention and care hi needed the things went well. But whenever he let go of his own live, he got lost in his own life.
The should be a mystery, and he was right. He learned that what mooves him is his wishes to became better. He got to understand (finally!!!) the urge he felt. It was DESIRE.
He then realized he was free. Free to choose his own path, to go wherever he wanted. There are so many possibilities for us out there, he tought, and so he decided he was going foward, and that's how he turned into The Chariot.
Now, the angel of life on the previous card had given the Fool a perspective of life, and with an open mind he persued his desire. The star on the forehead show us that he could see the world from a new perspective.
But something was off. The chariot no longer moved. After trying and trying, he only walked in circle. After sometime re realized the problem. One of the animal was going left, the other one right. How could he go anywhere?
Remembering the old days, he decided to put on practice again what he learned, and voilà, something seemed to be working. He could see now, the horses are actually one: he himself. His emotional body and his racional body, materialized outside him. He had to master them, as he did back in the Emperor with his daily routine. Heart and Mind united into one.
Then, without reining in the horses, he climbed into the Chariot. Armed only with his true will, he commanded his instinct and his reason, his rational body and his emotional body. And on he went. And he achieved his goals. And because of this he was transformed and sat on the throne of Justice.
to be continued...

(Practical) Making Holy Oil with Psalm 23 and χ
If you want to hear my rambling version of this, go here. This is not a normal holy oil or an oil I recommend using daily if you don't want an initiation, there's a current attached to this procedure and it is a lot less of a magical lodge and more alongside the thought of "soul of the world" sort of initiation. I recommend taking the time to think if you want to follow with this procedure or not. There's layers to it and you're welcome to explore it yourself. I recommend for this:
A white bowl.
Two white cloth(one for table and one to cover the bowl)
Four (tealight) candles and one yellow candle.
(Olive)Oil
Psalter or a Bible.
Note: You will be doing this whole procedure(for 7 days) on a strict vegetarian diet or vegan diet. Where you won't anything that have a soul or came out of a soul. This will start from Sunday to Saturday.
Procedure:
Light up the yellow candle on a separate table(altar for jesus is better if you have one) asking help and praying to be guided toward the light and proper way to approach this. A sincere prayer from the heart of your choice. (NOTE: this step can only be done once at the start, it doesn't need to be repeated for the rest of the period)
Set up the main table/altar for this working it will not be disturbed for next seven days with white cloth, 4 candles, and bowl of olive oil in the middle covered by a white cloth. Make sure that the direction is east.
Don't light up the candle now!, recite psalm 23 on the bowl filled with olive oil and then cover it carefully with a white cloth.
After covering the bowl with a white cloth light up the candle in clockwise manner starting from top, right, bottom, left.
Let it burn completely and repeat the procedure again daily until the period end.
Once you're done with the week of consecrating that oil with psalm 23 then you can pour it in a bottle with a funnel and bottle it in smaller containers and use it for yourself anointing yourself daily with it day and night slowly you will start to see stuff shifting and your spiritual practice to have a definite refinement to it.
Before I end this, olive oil could be expensive for you. I recommend to use whatever oil you found suitable for you and within your means because the original word for the oil in the psalm wasn't exactly "olive oil", it just said oil. Look into coconut, Sesame, or other good oils that you can use.
May the peace of the lord be with you .

question for the witches of tumblr:
are there any free online witches' almanacs? these can be websites, tumblr blogs, ebooks, anything. I'm doing the 2024 grimoire challenge on tumblr but i'd like something more like those almanac books i see all over the place, with activities and information etc. for every day / week. i'd like some sort of external structure to base my craft on because i'm trying to develop a daily practice but it's hard to do on my own. i've been looking for something like this for ages but for some reason i can't find anything. if anyone knows anything like this please let me know, it'd be greatly appreciated. thanks! :)
