the most obnoxious thing about discussions about ai is that suddenly a bunch of people learned that using electricity consumes water but not any sense of scale for it. like i hear a lot that talking to chatgpt for 50 turns uses a 16 oz bottle of water, but if you are a popular tumblr account you use more water than that every day just from traffic to your blog. this is something that’s kind of difficult to model because it’s so variable, but i just checked the size of my blog accessed from the dash and it’s 436 kb (~0.43 mb). So lets say every person who accesses your blog is loading .43 mb which takes .2 watt hours of energy (most people use tumblr on their phones which is less efficient than a fixed network so uses more power) and one wh uses .5 liters of water, it only takes 4.73 clicks on your blog to equal 16 oz. this is all highly dependent on a lot of factors, but a bottle of water is not a lot in energy usage, you use like 40 gallons of water streaming a movie.

stooop making comics about your internal experiences while being so isolated/self-absorbed you never talk to other people about their internal experiences to be able to know whether what you are feeling is a noteworthy or insightful thing to make a comic about or if it is a normal part of being a human being experienced by everyone. and if you still feel like you have to make a comic about it after learning you’re literally normal at least make it about a character who isn’t you so that it can be you’re telling a story that’s relatable not that you’re trying to present a common experience like it’s unusual or deep or something.

What’s there to talk about about milk and cereal?

you see each thing to ever exist has a deep history and context within and without itself so there is much to talk about about milk and cereal. i am broadly interested in public health and i am more specifically interested in food vis a vis public health and more specifically interested in food safety and “health food” and more specifically interested in. milk and cereal.

the thing to think of of the day about milk and cereal is that they used to feed cows beer mash which has no nutritional value, and therefore children in the late 1800s were drinking like just white water. jt also had worms and formaldehyde in it.
