How I Create Pouches for Spells
by repurposing old fabrics.
These DIY pouches are a personal and sustainable way to add an extra touch of intention to your spellwork.
Here are two methods I use: the Circular Pouch and the Sleeve Pouch. Both methods are beginner-friendly and require minimal sewing skills.
Materials Needed:
ā€¢Old fabric (such as clothes that no longer fit, sleeves, or scraps)
ā€¢Scissors
ā€¢Needle and thread (or a sewing machine)
ā€¢Cord, ribbon, or a fabric strip for tying the pouch
ā€¢Optional: Decorations (I decorate some pouches with embroidery, beads, or charms)
I experiment with different fabrics and colors for unique textures and energy. I prefer black sturdy materials for my protection spells, colorful tulle for beauty spells and blue velvet for good sleep spells.
Method A: Circular Pouch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This method works great for making versatile pouches of any size.
1. I prepare the fabric
I find a piece of fabric I no longer need.
I use scissors to cut the fabric into a circular shape. I sometimes use a plate or lid as a guide to trace the circle.
2. I create the cord
If the fabric doesnā€™t have a pre-existing cord, I cut a long, thin strip from the fabric itself to use as a cord.
I make sure itā€™s long enough to tie my pouch securely.
3. I assemble the pouch
I place my spell items in the center of the circle.
I gather the edges of the fabric upward to enclose the items.
I tie the cord around the gathered edges to secure my pouch.
And thatā€™s it! A quick, no-sew pouch thatā€™s perfect for small spells and charms.
Method B: Sleeve Pouch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This method is ideal for repurposing shirt or sweater sleeves and creates a sturdier pouch.
1. I cut the sleeve
I take an old shirt or sweater.
I cut the sleeve horizontally at the desired length to create a short fabric ā€œpipe.ā€ (The longer the piece, the larger your pouch.)
2. I sew the bottom
I turn the fabric inside out so the seams are on the outside.
I sew one of the open ends shut using a needle and thread.
Sometimes I reinforce the seam by stitching twice or using a strong thread.
3. I finish the pouch
I turn the fabric right-side out.
I use the open end as the top of the pouch.
I add my spell ingredients and tie it closed with a cord or ribbon.

No but imagine a post-canon MDZS RPG where your build depends on the sect you pick (or play a rogue cultivtor) based on what strengths you want, like do you want a fast and loose fighting style? Be a Jiang disciple! Something based on music and rhythmic movement? Gusu Lan! Ruthless and tenacious? The Nie! Then you take main and side quests from the characters, solve ghost/demon mysteries, uncover political machinations, etc. maybe help sect leader Jiang find a new wife idk also have the option to try ghost cultivation that has unique casting perks but also has HP or mana risks??? like, guys i just want this game so bad

This was inspired by a guest character in Campaign 2 of Critical Role, as well as the Dust of Tracelessness(?), but with smells! Keep your DnD party safe from those pesky hounds!
Strange Smells Pouch
Wondrous Item, uncommon ā€œThis leatherbound satchel has some heft to it and a small buttoned flap on the top. A string of pungent, earthy scents exude from it. Every sniff is a little bit different, but thereā€™s no mistaking that itā€™s coming directly from the bag.ā€
You can use an action to sprinkle some contents of the pouch behind you, the odor is so strange and pungent it will cover a large area and keep any creatures from tracking you by scent. Any creature that smells the contents of this pouch cannot find traces of you or your allies with Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on scent.

2023 Bloom Bags
Last year saw the introduction of Bloom Bags to the shop.
40 in total were created, with no two being the same, and while I continue to develop these little treasures, I feel so fortunate at the response you've all had towards them.
There are currently only 6 of these bloom bags left in the shop, however not to fret, more are on the way, and while I already have new themes in the works, I'd love to hear from you about what types of bloom bags you'd like to see in the future.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Thank you all again for your support. ā¤ļø
Best!
