Luffy who’s never felt any sort of attraction for anyone in his entire life until he meets Sanji. And at first he doesn’t get it like he doesn’t understand why he feels a certain way around Sanji. I think it takes all the way till wci where he at least has the understanding that the love he feels for Sanji is different than for the rest of his friends. After wci he clings on to him always, he’ll be behind Sanji with his arms around his waist while he cooks and sanjis like “it’ll be a while, you can go out on to the deck” and Luffy’s like “I wanna watch you make it though” I think it would be the same for Sanji after wci he starts to feel something for Luffy especially since he becomes clingier with him. During wano when luffys unconscious sanji went into the room he was in just to check on him and he brushed his fingers through his hands and then he kissed his forehead. He then freaked out and left the room and passed around for hours because he’s conflicted and why did he do that was that not super weird of him??? And then maybe twords the very end of the festival in the night Sanji tells Luffy what he did because maybe he feels a ashamed probably a mix of all of it, being attracted to a man, his captain, is he good enough, Luffy deserves better. Luffy doesn’t say anything he doesn’t know what to say he just knows how he feels so he leans in a kisses Sanji and it feels like a weight being lifted off both of them.

Zoro and luffy becoming extra possessive of sanji when they realize every pirate crew and even the marines seem infatuated with their cook

At first they thought it was amusing the heart pirates and the kid pirates were so eager to spend time with sanji, either talking or tasting his food, but then they noticed the side glances, the lingering touches every time sanji handed them a plate

With the g5 it was even worse, the marines seemed to forget sanji was pirate, all in favor of complimenting his food, his looks, his fighting style. They'd follow him like puppies, eager to shout a praise at every move sanji made

Their second intentions were obvious, but sanji seemed oblivious to them, being genuinely happy his abilities are being recognized and thanking them for the compliments, offering to cook for them again if they ever wished

Zoro and luffy could almost cry at that, how could a man be so kind and selfless??

But at the same time, they just couldn't stand it, they couldn't stand these filthy pirates and filthy marines ogling their precious cook like that

So they made it their mission to never leave sanji alone when in their presence, to always have a secure arm around his waist, to whisper praises against his ears before anyone else had the chance to, and to sneak in a kiss when sanji thought no one was looking

(I don't think you understand how much I think about zoro and luffy being possessive of sanji, I think they should growl at anyone that got too close to their cook)

Thinking about the reactions Ace and Sabo would have to finding out Luffy’s in love with Sanji;; Honestly Ace being the overprotective one is probably more in character but it would be so fucking funny if Ace just catches Luffy staring at Sanji for a little too long and decides he’s going to be his little brother’s ultimate wingman. He’s COMMITTED and he’s going to sneakily create SO many romantic moments for Luffy to take advantage of. But Sabo,, Sabo turns out to be the overprotective one LMAO he sees Sanji smile softly at Luffy one (1) time and he’s like oh HELL no, not MY little brother. Ace tries to set them up, Sabo tries to…SABOtage them ;)))))

Even more hilarious is if this is happening at the same time. Luffy is oblivious but Sanji’s inwardly questioning what the hell is going on bc every time he THINKS there’s a romantic situation blossoming between them, absolute disaster strikes right after. Meanwhile in the background Ace and Sabo are arguing (“Stop fucking everything up you’re ruining all my plans!!” “Luffy’s far too young to have a boyfriend, are you kidding me right now?” “He’s NINETEEN Sabo get over it!!” “Not until that cook wins my approval and right now it’s not looking good for him” “ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS. Sabs do you HEAR yourself rn”)

Thoughs on Transfem Luffy? Personally I actually love this concept, some of my main hcs are:

- She comes out after Garp leaves her with Dadan so when he first sees her bounty posters he thinks he is going crazy at first

- Design is literally the same but with pigtails and the classic op girl eyes

- She casually nentions being trans after a visit from Chopper and everybody is cool with that. (Exept sanji)

- Amazpn Lily is a nightmare at first but after explaining herself Boa makes misgendering her a crime

- Impel Down is a lot more interesting

- Akainu is the only transphobic person in op and he gets his ass beaten

- Sabo cries (of joy) at Dressrosa for her

- Wano is more interesting too

Very very positive thoughts about transfem Luffy. She's my beloved. My little ball of chaos. The same exact as our canon Luffy but with different pronouns and somehow I imagine her to be even more unhinged because you wouldn't expect a cutie pie like her to be so damn chaotic.

Honestly, the whole thing is just something so cute to me. Makino? Dadan? Ace? Sabo? Shanks? They'd all support her like crazy. Ace and Sabo would beat the shit out of anyone saying anything bad about her while Makino teaches her (and her brothers) how to do her hair so it doesn't bother her while playing/running/training. This makes even more sense now because both Shanks and Dragon give major girl dad energy, so of course they'd love her (thinking about Dragon seeing the first Wanted poster and being thrilled about it and mourning a bit not being able to see her). Uta!!! Uta would tell her to be more feminine and delicate but she'd end up being charmed by her freedom, so she'd also beat the shit out of anyone who doesn't consider her sister a girl. Luffy is very nonchalant and careless about these things but is very stubborn so she gets frustrated when someone doesn't respect her identity. She's all like "I am a girl but I still wanna do stuff boys do, y'know? It just feels right to do whatever I want but, uh, as a girl. It makes sense".

Not to mention that she'd come out in the worst moment possible, in the most sudden way, and everyone in the crew would accept her but they'd be so astonished because Luffy is just so damn stupid and blunt sometimes. Also, I think it'd be good for Sanji to learn about trans girls... It'd help Sanji... In so many ways... The closet is glass for Sanji too but this isn't about her...

Amazon Lily is even better because Boa and Luffy would've been even greater friends (even though I love the whole "Luffy being the only guy she feels safe with" I also think that Boa acknowledging trans girls in an island specifically for women would be awesome).

Akainu can go rot in hell. If someone's transphobic in this show, it is him only.

Sabo!!!!!!! Sabo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sabo would be the best brother ever to his sister. I just know that he'd be even more protective than he is now even knowing she can protect herself. Like that's his baby sister!!! And he'd be so happy to see her again and realizing she has the family and support she has always wanted!! The fact that she lives free and by her own ideals is enough for Sabo to be the happiest.

Wano is more interesting because she'd actually relate to Yamato's experience!!!!!!!! Trans besties!!!!!!!!! And Kiku!!!!!! Wano truly is the trans arc...

Overall, I believe she'd be the exact same as she is now but would easily get bothered by people telling her she's not a girl or saying that she isn't girly enough. She'd be ruthless and yet the cutest thing ever. Btw, she'd still go shirtless/topless even if she gets boobs because she does not care about it lmao--

I've been saying we need more Luffy female protagonists, tbh. It'd be soooo good for the story and would add more to the topics of freedom and liberation.

LuSan headcanon

A tie is so much more than just a tie. To Luffy, a tie is easy access.

Luffy wants to kiss? Grab a hold of Sanji's tie and urge his head down. Quick sweet kisses are pressed to the chef's cheeks and throat. Maybe even a bit of a marking bite just above the height of his collar.

Luffy wants attention immediately? Give Sanji's tie a few soft tugs to drawn his focus. It always earns Luffy his hair being ruffle. The tactile stimulation brings a smile to his face and boost his energy levels as he giggles.

Luffy feeling particularly territorial? Grab Sanji's tie and a firm tug. Dragging the cook onto his lap. One of Luffy's hands gripping the tie like a leash as his other hand sits possessively on the blond's hip. The captain's nose pressed to the cook's warm throat while glaring over Sanji's shoulder at potential threats.

Luffy thinks Sanji's working too much? Grab the silk tie and slip the knots free. Tie the chef's hands behind his back with the incredibly soft material. Just hoist the bound chef over the captain's shoulder and carry him to the calm of the aquarium room for an afternoon of snuggling and watching the fish.

Luffy can't stop fidgeting while cuddling? Just stroke the smooth, soothing texture of the tie's material while snuggled in Sanji's arms. A calming fidget toy that keeps Luffy from running off before either one has had enough cuddles.

A tie is never a blindfold. Never something to make Sanji feel trapped and frightened in the darkness.

A tie is a lifeline.

i was going to reblog a post talking about aroace luffy and being COMPLETELY WRONG about it (let it be known that aroace luffy is merely a headcanon that happens to be universally accepted. coded characters =/= canon.)

but !! i decided not to waste my energy and instead thought about a sanji headcanon so

fuck you, heres aromantic sanji !! (lithromantic specifically)

what is lithromantic? lithromantic is a romantic attraction without the desire for reciprocation. in other words: someone who has a crush on another but doesn't want that same feelings back.

for a small explanation on why lithromantic!sanji... simply put sanji is overall a romantic guy and loves doing romantic/loving gestures for the people he appreciates

but to me, because of the environment he was born in. it made it hard for sanji to desire a committed relationship. so when someone reciprocates feelings for him or has feelings for him, he won't notice or that attraction slowly fades. he does eventually learns that not all committed relationships are bad and that they can be good. in fact, he'd be very happy for healthy relationships. but to him, he cannot desire it for himself and finds it discomforting.

now, sanji can still date or possibly be in relationships! it's just very unlikely or that he wont have the same desires as his partner.

he'll always have a lot of love and gestures to give, but he simply cannot take. (also yes he accepts affection just not relationships)

OKAY ADDING ONTO THIS BC MOOT ON TWT MENTIONED IT: sanji being lithromantic makes a LOT of sense because when characters like pudding showed interest, sanji was completely normal. and in a wano filler, there was a woman that clearly had interest in sanji. but instead he focused on her pet mouse while getting close in proximity with her. and when he notices shes anxious/something, all he asks is "hm? whats wrong?"

and honestly, i hc that if he does act weird around ppl showing interest but it's at the wrong time, he'd act as he usually does when being romantic

I actually love the idea that when Sanjis mad he loses it in French like he’s in the kitchen yelling and Luffy and the kids are all looking at each other like ????

Luffy’s epiphany “I’m in love with Sanji” moment happens when Sanji takes a two day trip to grab food supplies. Sanji made sure to leave plenty of food he’d already prepared in the fridge for Luffy and the others so they wouldn’t miss any meals while he was gone. Out of sheer habit Luffy barges into the galley shouting SANJI FOOD and just. Goes real quiet when he remembers that Sanji isn’t there. The rest of the crew notice while he’s eating that he seems super mopey, and they’re like hey what’s wrong, you have food, it’s Sanji’s cooking, what’s the big deal? And Luffy’s like yeah but it’s not the SAME. Because Sanji isn’t here. And they’re like ??? and Luffy’s realizing it’s not just Sanji’s food that he likes, it’s SANJI, and Sanji’s not there right now so he’s sad bc he misses him. It’s not the same to eat his food and not have him be there to serve it. It’s not the same since he’s not in the kitchen cooking and Luffy can’t sit and watch him in his element. It’s not the same bc Luffy can’t tell him how delicious it is and watch his reaction (he always gets super flustered and pleased and it’s CUTE). The food’s still yummy but it’s lacking one very important ingredient: Sanji!! Sanji’s not THERE and Luffy misses him so so so much. Cue him pouting and sulking around the ship for the next two days waiting for Sanji to come home. It’s literally that one SpongeBob line “What did you do while I was gone?” “Wait for you to come back 🥺🥺🥺” Luffy now knows he’s found something he loves more than food and that’s the cook that makes food for him. GOD. They make me ill

I am currently in an AroAce Luffy Mood so accept my crew x Lu ideas

ZoLu as a partnership where they call one another Their Boyfriend, and they pass as a romantic relationship. Luffy doesn't really Get Romantic Feelings but he DOES love. He has squishes on his whole crew, but Zoro is His Zoro.

Zoro, for his part, is aromantic or some flavor thereof where his devotion to Luffy is maybe romantic love, maybe platonic love, who cares, he'd do anything for his captain.

Simultaneously, Luffy has a queer platonic relationship with most people on the crew, they are HIS and the only boundaries he'll respect at the ones they establish. Who cares about propriety? They're PIRATES!

After different arcs, Luffy gets Clingier to certain people - it's either New Friend Fawning or Not So Hidden Abandonment Issues Cropping Up. Sometimes it's just a need for comfort, either on his end or for one of his people.

Sanji spent a long time keeping everyone... kind of at arm's length. Ussop and he wind up falling into orbit, and life isgood, is beautiful, Sanji is so happy - but he also is so terrified.

He will follow his captain to the end of the world, and he loves his crew, his friends, with everything he has. There is no where on the planet he'd be safer than there, with them. But Luffy's eyes, so dark and searching and Seeing - they make him antsy. It's alright in passing, in energetic moments. It's unbearable during those rare moments of calm examination. Sanji makes it clear very early on that he's not into that.

It's only after WCI that Luffy grabs Sanji into a tight hug late one evening, them both sitting up, awake and alone in the small kitchen. It's then that calloused rubber hands cup a stubble dotted jaw, a forehead pressed to forehead, and brown-black-red eyes meet blue and Luffy just... waits.

And Sanji? Oh, he's tired. He's tired, he's sad, he's hurt but he's safe and-

He's Luffy's.

He is baptized under that gaze that night with hot cocoa in their tongues and warmth in their hearts and Sanji lets himself have this. It doesn't matter if he deserves it, it doesn't matter if it's alright, all that matters is that It Is, that he can claim it for himself.

Just. Idek where I was going with this honestly. Just AAAAAAAAAAA

Aroace Zolu is so funny to me. They're a third secret thing. It's like they are not boyfriends but they are boyfriends but actually that's just how first mates/captains are with each other but they're special and unlike anybody else and-- You get me.

And I agree btw I think Luffy has QPR relationships everywhere in the crew (I mean. Mostly east blue crew but yeah) because his way of loving is more than just friendship but it's not romantic love either? And they don't need a word for that because they are pirates so it doesn't matter at all what labels they use as long as they're happy with it.

The last part btw????? Do you want me to CRY?????? Aghhh. I love Sanji opening up and accepting the love Luffy has to offer him. It's my favorite flavor of Lusan.
