''Blood Worm Moon' US Weather Forecast: Top Spots to View Tonight's Total Lunar Eclipse''

Most of the U.S. will have at least partial glimpses of tonight’s total lunar eclipse, with about three-quarters of the nation expected to see the moon as it moves through Earth's shadow. The total eclipse begins at 2:26 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday (11:26 p.m. Pacific Time tonight or 06:26 GMT) and will last for 66 minutes.
The best viewing conditions are expected across the lower Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, Central Plains, and Texas, where skies should remain relatively clear. However, a major storm system moving out of the Northern and Central Rockies will bring widespread clouds and precipitation from Montana south to eastern Arizona and western New Mexico, likely obstructing the view in those areas.
Cloud cover will also pose challenges for eclipse watchers along the Pacific coast of Washington, Oregon, and northern and central California, where a marine layer of low clouds is expected at eclipse time. Similarly, low clouds are likely to obscure the moon along the Gulf Coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and parts of South Florida. See More......

Explanation: On March 14 the Moon was Full. In an appropriate celebration of Pi day, that put the Moon 3.14 radians (180 degrees) in ecliptic longitude from the Sun in planet Earth's sky. As a bonus for fans of Pi and the night sky, on that date the Moon also passed directly through Earth's umbral shadow in a total lunar eclipse. In clear skies, the colors of an eclipsed Moon can be vivid. Reflecting the deeply reddened sunlight scattered into Earth's shadow, the darkened lunar disk was recorded in this time series composite image from Cerro Tololo Observatory, Chile. The lunar triptych captures the start, middle, and end of the total eclipse phase that lasted about an hour. A faint bluish tint seen just along the brighter lunar limb at the shadow's edge is due to sunlight filtered through Earth's stratospheric ozone layer.

About the Calendar Wheel
The image on this post is the calendar I made for 2025, based on my location in Boorloo (so-called Perth, Western Australia), on Wadjuk Noongar boodjar.
From the centre, outwards, you'll see:
The 6 Noongar seasons
The 8 seasonal festivals (I've used the common names for the cross-quarters, since I'll probably use this on my business socials)
The 12 months of the year
The 52-ish weeks of the year
The 365 days of the year
The new, full, and quarter moons for 2025
Depending where in the world you're from, you might also notice some things look a little different than you expect...
The wheel is arranged Southern Hemisphere sunwise. Because the sun skewing towards the equator at midday take it to the north, the sun's path over the course of each day appears to move counter-clockwise (because clocks were made based off northern hemisphere sundials).
The quarter-moon icons seem inverted, because we're viewing the moon from a different vantage point. Southern hemisphere moon phases look like:
🌘🌗🌖🌕🌔🌓🌒
Likewise some dates might seem a little off - Astrological events occur at the same instant, regardless of where in the world we are, but how we mark that instant on our calendar will depend on what timezone we're located in (and which side of midnight that timezone places us).
I'm located ~12hrs ahead of the Eastern United States, so a lot of the events above might be the date before for folks in earlier timezones (likewise for folks in Eastern Australia and New Zealand, a handful of events might be the date after if they're in the early a.m.)

Energy Update: March 2025
Note: All dates in this report are in EST (-5UTC) until 3/9, where they become EDT (-4UTC)
March is a "3" [3 (March) + 9 (2025) = 12 = 1+2=3] Universal Month in a "9" Universal Year. 3 is a manifestation number - in 3 months, we begin reaping the rewards of the months before it. The potential for this does show up astrologically, but it comes with some major caveats as we enter both retrograde season and eclipse season at the same time. Things are changing, and it's going to happen fast.
The Set Up
We begin March with the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node in Pisces, Venus in Aries, Mars in Cancer, Jupiter in Gemini, Uranus in Taurus, and Pluto in Aquarius. There is a LOT of planetary motion this month: the Sun, Mercury, and Neptune will both enter Aries, and Mercury and Venus will both retrograde and move backward into Pisces. Notably, these planets will be moving across the border between 29° Pisces and 00° Aries - either in forward or backward motion. Read this for more context about what is going on.
The Nitty Gritty
March is THE liminal month of 2025, including two personal planet retrogrades and our first eclipse season on the Pisces-Aries axis. Adjustments will have to be made, and it may appear like the future is unknowable until we've gotten through the thick of it. In times like these, we often need to go back to the basics and focus on the minutia in our lives, all of the things that help us get through the day-to-day.
The Lunar Nodes and Eclipse Season
The lunar nodes aren't bodies in the sky. Instead, they are mathematical points indicating where the Sun must be in the sky to fall into alignment with the Earth and our Moon to create our eclipses. Over time, this point moves through the horoscope wheel, showing us the area of life that will be highlighted during each eclipse cycle. For the last year and a half, the Nodes were in Aries and Libra, and we were forced to confront our biases around individuality and togetherness. In January, the Nodes moved onto the axis of Pisces and Virgo.
Pisces and Virgo are both signs of service. From a wide enough viewpoint, Virgo is the fixer in the horoscope - its job is to serve the physical side of humanity. On the other hand, Pisces is the enlightened dreamer who serves the spiritual side of humanity. The two nodes can be read like a compass, pointing toward the North Node and away from the South. In this way, we are getting a cosmic nudge towards spiritual service over the next year and a half.
Now, in March, we are entering eclipse season. Because this is the first eclipse on the new axis, we have mixed eclipses: our lunar moon is in Virgo (the new axis), but our solar eclipse is in Aries (the old axis). This is very in line with the energy of the month, a mixed bag of Pisces and Aries energy as the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Neptune move across the boundary between these two signs. We are both stuck in the old (Pisces) energy and heading into the new (Aries) energy by the season, but it works oppositely with the eclipses where the old (Aries) is making way for the new (Virgo).
Pisces can have a bit of a savior complex, but it comes with a timely cosmic reminder. Trying to save some but not all people likely damns everyone. To be a true savior, you have to be willing to save EVERYONE, even those that are unsavory or you deem undeserving. The North Node in Pisces is a profound reminder that all of us - every living being on this rock drifting through space - are in this together, whether we want to admit to it, or not. On a long enough timeline, what happens to one of us happens to all of us.
You may see climate change more in the fires raging through the American West, but it affects everyone.
You may see that the Trump administration's actions are affecting America, but they will affect the whole world.
Elaborate as necessary.
It's too early to guess how this iteration of the North Node in Pisces will show up for us, but it's coming in hot (eclipses always do). Standard eclipse season advice applies: expect the unexpected, and trust what is showing up in your life during the two weeks between our lunar eclipse on 3/14 and our solar eclipse on 3/29 - eclipses have a way of realigning us with where we need to be in life, the best option is to let it happen. I will write more specifically about the upcoming eclipse cycle soon: stay tuned!
Venus
Venus retrogrades on 3/1 at 10° Aries. This is our second biggest news of the month, after our eclipse season, and it's a pretty big deal, as personal planet retrogrades often are.
Venus rules love and relationships, as we all know, but she also rules pleasure and the getting along half of interpersonal relationships. She is in exile in the cardinal air sign of Aries, the sun sign opposite of one of her two domains, Libra. Where Libra is all about relationships and connections to the people in our lives, Aries is about independence and setting out on your own. You can see why this energy does not vibe well with Venus. This is an especially touchy subject as we have just exited a lunar node cycle on the Aries-Libra axis, and will be highlighted around our lunar eclipse on 3/29, which is our last eclipse in Aries for the next twelve years.
We rely on Venus to be our planetary negotiator, and with her retrograde in Aries, she is doubly out of order. This means it will be doubly hard to find peace or strike an accord—both on the global level and in our personal lives. We can expect everyone to want to be Number 1; nobody will give an inch. The best-case scenario is this stalls out essential conversations that can be resumed at a later date. The worst-case scenario involves escalation...
Unfortunately, we've had a poor alignment of personal planets since early December when Mars stationed retrograde in Leo and Cancer. Mercury will also retrograde at the same time as Venus. We've got a couple more months where it will be hard to get along with the people you actually like, let alone those you aren't as fond of. This is the astrological weather; we have to live in it.
This can be remediated, but it will take a lot of self-awareness and heart energy. The more you can stay in your own heart energy—even when your Others are not in theirs—the easier your relationships will be. You love this person, after all. This doesn't have to become a fight. People who have unresolved relational trauma are going to have a more challenging time with this. Standard Venus retrograde advice applies: do not start or end a relationship while Venus is retrograde. It's not likely to stick.
That said, retrogrades of Venus and Mars are definitely breakup weather. You shouldn't worry about that if you are in a committed, loving relationship. Situationships, though? All those shitty off-again-on-again things? That couple who lives to fight it out? Venus and Mars retrogrades test the stability of all of our relationships, but most people notice it the most in romantic ones. Expect some restructuring. Things you thought were long resolved may surface for further exploration.
As Venus moves backward, she conjuncts Mercury on 3/11 and then the Sun on 3/23 - this will intensify and focus this interpersonal energy. Mercury may force us to think things through, and the Sun tends to shine its light on what we've been ignoring. By 3/26, Venus is sitting at 00° Aries (see more about this here), and on 3/27, she has moved backward into 29° Pisces to conjunct Neptune. This carries all of the energy of our pasts returning to haunt us - exes of all varieties might come out of the woodwork during this time. I'd say, "Don't Do It" - you aren't there anymore for a reason - but I know everyone needs to learn that for themselves in their own way.
It won't last, but that's a lesson all on its own.
Neptune has a way of pulling the wool over our eyes; as the modern ruler of Pisces, it is why many Pisceans seem to move through life with rose-colored glasses. What glitters is most definitely not gold during this time. Buyer beware. I hope you signed a prenup. Apply that liberally wherever it works in your life.
If you're chasing waterfalls, you might be in a rude awakening as Neptune enters Aries on 3/30.
The big flex through all of this is to remain kind. I don't say "nice" here on purpose. You don't have to be nice, but it always pays to be kind. Many people are going to go through it during this retrograde, and if you are paying attention, there will be many chances to step around their shit instead of getting into it. Stay in your own lane and tend your own heart. Know enough to disengage when it's not about you.
Venus retrogrades for 40 days (that...always reminds me of Jesus, but I digress), so this is a long transit, and it's not going to feel good for anyone. That is by design. While Venus is in Aries, people will want to fight it out; while Venus is in Pisces, people are likelier to stick their heads in the sand. Eyes wide open make transits like this a lot easier. Retrogrades are designed to help you retrace the steps in your life and course correct, work with it rather than against it, and there are many rewards at the end of this cycle.
More reading: Energy Update: Venus retrograde Mercury
But wait, there's more!
On the day Venus retrogrades at 10° Aries (3/1), Mercury enters their pre-retrograde shadow at 26° Pisces. These two are near matches to each other: Venus will retrograde from 10° Aries to 24° Pisces, and Mercury will retrograde from 09° Aries to 26° Pisces. We're about to get a double dose personal planet retrograde passing over the end of the horoscopes (Pisces) and the beginning (Aries).
Something needs to end during this time. Eventually, this is going to lead to a new beginning. But there's some work to do yet before we get there.
Mercury retrograde is business as usual; it happens 3-4x times every year. The overlap between Mercury and Venus's retrogrades is not uncommon - it happened two (Venus) retrogrades ago, between 2021 and 2022. To have the entirety of Mercury's retrograde occur inside of Venus's in both time and degree is highly unusual and notable. We should all pay attention to 24° Pisces to 10° Aries. This astrological double whammy crosses over the most critical point in the horoscope wheel (the start of Aries). Notice how Mercury and Venus cross over 00° Aries thrice: once in forward motion, then back again in retrograde, and a third time in forward motion.
This is the secret to retrogrades, they comes in three parts: the pre-retrograde shadow, the retrograde, and the post-retrograde shadow. Any planets in our hot zone - in the skies or in your charts - are going to get tag teamed by Mercury and Venus. While they are both retrograde between 3/11 and 4/7 relationships are going to be rocky and nobody is going to want to talk about it. Maybe that will work to our advantage?
Time will tell. Or, it won't, because the memory will get lost in the liminality of Mercury's journey on the low road.
Again, I want to bring up the feeling of endings in the last degrees of Pisces that are impossible to ignore. This is the end of the astrological year (Sun in Aries, first day of Spring, 3/20), and these retrogrades, weirdly enough, coincide with Lent and are always a part of the late winter or early spring. If you are a Catholic, this is a time to pay attention.
It will be all mists all of the time. Metaphorically speaking. Expect technology and communications to be seriously on the fritz. Mercury likes coffee. Putting it out there because I find that my days during their retrograde always go better when I share my cup of coffee with them in the morning. My partner pointed out to me recently that this is a sacrifice, and I guess that it is.
For the first half of the month, we will be in Mercury's retrograde shadow, which means it'll be looming large ahead of us. We might not notice then when the fighting begins. Since Venus's retrograde coincides exactly with Mercury's pre-retrograde shadow AND we're headed into eclipse season, this might be a very underrated Mercury retrograde cycle. If you're a crafty magician, you might be able to find some interest in roads when our words themselves go unseen.
We will notice when Mercury enters Aries, I think - this is one of the big magic days I mentioned in my post about this rare opportunity we're having.
Things will slow down a lot as Mercury retrogrades on 3/15 (the ides, too, yet another death reference here, folks). When I say the Low Road here, I do mean the path humans cannot walk on and return. In Greek mythology, Hermes was the God who was able to enter Hades and bring Persephone back to her mother. See that death reference continues, and think about the earth coming back to life as we move into springtime. Beware, lest you too become a pillar of salt, I guess? Does that mean you aren't supposed to look back? That doesn't seem quite right...
If that is the path you need to travel right now, Mercury is your guide.
The Sun conjuncts retrograde Mercury at 04° Aries on 3/24 in a close stellium with retrograde Venus. If you are comfortable working with both Mercury and Venus in retrograde, this is a powerful day to take full stock of your life. Work the Sun and let Mercury and Venus guide you.
Finally, on the day of our last solar eclipse in Aries, Mercury drifts back into Pisces, the sign of their fall. This is yet another hit on that 29-00° point. Seemingly seconds later, Neptune enters Pisces.
By the end of the month, we might be feeling right and fully pickled by this double retrograde stew.
Our Lights: The Sun and the Moon
The Sun and the Moon got fourth billing this month - that's how you know that things have gotten really juicy up in here. We're rounding out Pisces season in the dark depths of a Venus retrograde and entering Aries season, which will light up our lives and that potent 00° Aries spot in all of our charts. Both our lunar events are eclipses. So yeah, its gonna be a lot.
The end of Pisces is power-packed right now with Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node in a heavy stellium. The Sun will have to conjunct all three of these and our retrograde Mercury and Venus before it has gotten itself through this mess. And we are the Sun, metaphorically, in this equation. The Sun is the seat of light in our natal birth charts AND in our lives. The sun's movement in our skies changes our seasons, and we are entering springtime.
Before we get there, the Sun will square Jupiter (unlucky, generally) on 3/2 and trine Mars (energetic but also not great) on 3/8 but with so much going on otherwise, these might be unremarkable.
Our Sun conjuncts Saturn at 22° Pisces on 3/12 which reminds us - irrevocably - that hard times are hard. This is a call to action to step up, Saturn is a lot of pressure, but pressure is what makes diamonds.
The next day (3/12) we experience a total lunar eclipse at 23° Virgo, tightly opposed to the stellium of the Sun, Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node in Pisces. This is the real deal of eclipses and not one to fuck around with lightly. It's also worth noting that Jupiter is in a wide t-square to the Moon and South Node in Virgo and the stellium in Pisces. We should thank our lucky stars that Mercury and retrograde Venus are quite far away in Aries during this lunation.
That is enough. We don't need any more planets involved.
Our eclipsed Virgo Full Moon is a 9/3 Full Moon.
6 (Virgo Moon) + 12 (Pisces Sun) = 18 = 1+8 = 9. 9 (Virgo Full Moon) + 3 (March 2025) = 12 = 1+2 = 3.
It should surprise no one that this is a 9/3 full moon. Virgo full moons are always endings; they occur in the sign of Pisces. And this one holds the power of pure manifestation through the number 3. It's worth noting that three multiplied by itself is 9. This energy can be used forward or backward; you could work it to banish or end something significant in your life, create something new, or multiply your blessings. Remember that you want to set honest and reasonable goals because Saturn is no fool. Eclipse magic is wild and untenable, DNI if you're a control freak.
The Sun conjuncts the North Node at 27° Pisces on 3/17 which is going to be a huge check on our new normal. The Head of the Dragon is in Pisces now: are you being true to your own heart? Are you thinking about how that will affect all of us? How can you care for your physical self and be the wild and free creature your soul yearns to be? Pisces has a tendency towards martyrdom that is very likely to come to the surface as the North Node transits through our 12th sign. In its most mature form, Pisces is extremely altruistic and deeply caring for humanity as a whole. We need this right now. I believe that what happens to one of us happens to all of us, the more of us who can align with this Piscean energy, the more chance it will spread.
Our North Node in Pisces REALLY CARES. OUT LOUD. Probably in tears about it, but we can't blame anyone for that, now, can we?
I don't doubt that the whole fucking world needs to have a good old cry about what is happening in America right now. Because that's the Piscean Dragon lesson: we are not alone in this. What happens to one of us affects all of us. This earth really isn't that big. Not now, with near-instant communication, global travel, and nuclear weapons.
There are some deep holes we've gotten ourselves into. The world and, for many of us, in our lives. And we are going to tromp on them over and over again through these eclipses coinciding with these retrograde cycles. There's no way around it. Know it's coming, and shore yourself up the best that you can.
That's will mean something very different for everyone, and that's okay.
The Sun conjuncts Neptune exactly on 3/19 and enters Aries the next day. Happy Spring Equinox! We've made it through another astrological year. This is Sun in 00° Aries, the most potent of all of our 00° Aries days.
In Aries, the Sun makes an instant stellium with retrograde Mercury and Venus, and sextiles Pluto in Aquarius. This will likely create some turbulence and trigger much of what is coming up because of our double retrogrades.
And then, on 3/29, we experience our last eclipsed new moon in Aries in this lunar cycle. At 09° Aries, the solar-lunar conjunction is fairly far from the hard stellium in Pisces, but eclipses pack a punch whether they play with the other planets, or not. If you like to make big magical gestures and just let them go to let the universe do with it what it will, this is the day for you.
Our eclipsed Aries New Moon is a 2/5 New Moon. 1 (Aries Moon) + 1 (Aries Sun) = 2. 2 (Aries new moon) + 3 (March 2025) = 5.
Two is a connection number and fives can be used to break things apart, for good or for ill. I would forgo working with these numbers and go back to the basics of Aries/1 energy. This has strong fuck around and find out energy to it if that's your vibe.
Since this is the last eclipsed Aries moon for a while, you could apply it to what you've learned in the last year and a half while the North node was in Aries.
Mars
Mars is finally in forward motion, but still in its retrograde shadow in the sign of its fall, Cancer. He isn't hindering us much this month, but he's certainly not helping anything either. As the ruler of Aries (and in the sign square to Aries), he may prove a minor aggravation all month long. Thankfully, he doesn't square off with either of our two retrograde planets.
Neptune
By its nature, Neptune obscures so its often hard to pin down the effects of our nubulous outer planet. It is changing signs this month, though, which is worth noting. What will Neptune in Aries bring us this time around?
I think it's impossible to know except in hindsight. Neptune was last in Aries in 1875, too much of our lives has changed to even try to make predictions of its impact.
Looking Ahead
The second half of Aries season will be smoother than the first because we will finally be done with solar eclipses in Aries, and that is a huge relief. We need to move through the rest of Mercury and Venus' retrogrades, though, so we are not completely out of the water, it has just stopped churning quite so viciously. The eclipse hangovers may be long lived this time, but with the mists of Mercury gathering, its hard to tell as of yet.
The Details
3/1 - Mercury enters its pre-retrograde shadow 26° Pisces, Venus retrogrades 10° Aries 3/2 - Sun in Pisces square Jupiter in Gemini, Mercury conjunct Neptune 29° Pisces, Mercury conjunct North Node 28° Pisces 3/3 - Mercury enters Aries 3/5 - Mercury in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius 3/8 - Sun in Pisces trine Mars in Cancer 3/9 - DST 3/11 - Mercury conjunct retrograde Venus 08° Aries 3/12 - Sun conjunct Saturn 22° Pisces 3/14 - Total lunar eclipse 23° Virgo, Sun in Pisces sextile Uranus in Taurus 3/15 - Mercury retrogrades 09° Aries 3/17 - Sun conjuncts North Node 27° Pisces 3/19 - Sun conjuncts Neptune 29° Pisces 3/20 - Sun enters Aries 3/21 - retrograde Venus in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius 3/23 - Sun conjunct retrograde Venus 03° Aries, Sun in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius 3/24 - Sun conjunct retrograde Mercury 04° Aries 3/25 - retrograde Mercury in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius 3/26 - Mars in Cancer square Chiron in Aries 3/27 - retrograde Venus enters Pisces, retrograde Venus conjunct Neptune 29° Pisces 3/29 - partial lunar eclipse 09° Aries, retrograde Mercury enters Pisces, retrograde Mercury conjunct Neptune 29° Pisces 3/30 - Neptune enters Aries

Astronomy Picture of the Day
2025 March 15
Tololo Totality
Image Credit & Copyright: Petr Horálek/CTIO (Cerro Tololo Observatory) /AURA/NSF/ NOIRLab
On March 14 the Moon was Full.

March 2025 Important Dates
AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's March Forecast, hosted by Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock. It's a big month ahead and I'm already late, so I'm gonna skip the recap for today.
We enter March on the back off Mars finally going direct, but now it's Venus's turn to go retrograde! As these two planets dance with each other and the Sun, we'll launch into eclipse season and Mercury retrograde, with Neptune adding influence to everything before ingressing to Aries for the next ~15 years.

Mars's station in late February still hangs heavily over the next few weeks--we may have a lingering feeling of exhaustion or conflict highlighted by the retrograde, though the direct station shows us the way forward.
March 1st - Venus stations Retrograde She's been slowing down for the past couple months as she passed her shadow period in Pisces, but now we're really in it. Venus is at her brightest right before her retrograde, after which she slows down and then disappears within the Sun's rays for 40 days and 40 nights. Symbolically, she goes to the underworld and eventually emerges through the other side (from evening to morning star) as a new person. During this time we deeply question Venusian matters, often "What and who do I really want?"

Venus rx is a great time to redesign areas of your life (look to the Aries-Pisces houses she'll be revisiting) or reevaluating your creative pursuits. Other keywords involve relationship turning points or breakups--Dorotheus (~500 CE) actually has a horary (casting chart for a question the moment it's asked) guideline for this: if Venus has yet to conjoin the Sun, he predicts a lost lover/spouse will return because there's still a celestial union to be made, but if Venus has already had her cazimi, they won't. In general, let things shake out before trying to make permanent decisions, because changeups are still ahead anyways. This may also be a good time to follow the beat of your own drum, even if it doesn't line up with what everyone else expects. Sometimes a weird approach works, and works just for you (a key signature of people born under Venus rx).
March 2nd Sun square Jupiter, Mercury conjunct Neptune
March 3rd - Mercury enters Aries Mercury is going to spend a lot of time here, as he'll station retrograde on the 15th.
March 5th - Electional chart for the month (not pictured)
The chart is for around 10:30am local time, with 12 Gemini on the Ascendant. This places Jupiter right on the Ascendant, bringing boons to our ventures before things get crazy later in the month. The Moon is in Gemini, applying to a wide conjunction to Jupiter (but still within the 13° orb recommended for the Moon in electional charts). Venus is already retrograde, but Mercury is still direct and applying to a conjunction with Venus and a sextile with Jupiter. Chris recommends starting endeavors early in the month before Mercury retrograde and eclipse season starting later on.
March 11th - Mercury conjunct Venus
March 12th - Sun conjunct Saturn
March 14th - Virgo Lunar Eclipse Through his mundane studies over the past few years, Chris has found that "eclipse season" begins about a week before the first eclipse (they always come in pairs!) goes exact, meaning around March 7th we'll already start seeing the pace increase, including the rise and fall of prominent figures in the news and major endings -> beginnings in our personal charts.
This is also our first eclipse in Virgo (of the Virgo-Pisces eclipse series we'll experience for the next two years). This is a South Node eclipse, and the Tail of the Dragon connotes losses, endings, letting go, and things disappearing. On a positive note this is a good time for quitting bad habits, but this is also the kind of time where governments shut down because they can't agree on a budget and the money we normally expect is suddenly gone. We can't physically see the nodes or land on them, but they're responsible for the most dramatic change possible in the sky: eclipses. Thus eclipse events are often caused by subtle, shadowy, half-hidden processes that suddenly become very important. This particular eclipse is ruled by a weakened, soon-to-retrograde Mercury, so it will likely be particularly chaotic (the US budget is due on the 14th 👀).
We've had one eclipse in Pisces before, but this is the first in Virgo. This Virgo-Pisces series lasts longer than others, starting early and ending late. This eclipse (23♓/♍) really emphasizes the Saturn (22♓)-Neptune (29♓) conjunction. In other words, the lights are barely separating from Saturn at the time of this eclipse, with the Sun headed for a conjunction with and the Moon headed for an opposition to Neptune. Chris predicts bubbles will be popped in society & personal charts. The eclipse is also close to a trine with Uranus (24♉), which is the first aspect the Moon will make after this eclipse. Hopefully this disruptive energy will be flowing and liberating for some people. Letting things go can be freeing; sometimes the space and time gained by giving something up is more valuable than the thing surrendered. This is also a good aspect for castle walls collapsing suddenly instead of the siege we all expected. The North Node-Saturn-Neptune alignment of this eclipse happened once in the 20th century (when the Berlin wall fell), and once in the 18th century, in 1773 (year of the Boston Tea "Party").
In our personal lives events will probably not be so dramatic, but we will see walls suddenly fall down, or decide to abandon projects that are never going to work and build somewhere else. Austin urges us to look for the silver lining in the months ahead. We're not getting a lot of new good things, but negative influences on us may be themselves negated, and that's something good too. You have to let go of old things to make space for new things. We may also see in retrospect that smaller happenings now will turn out to be hugely important later in our lives. Eclipses speak to feeling pulled towards something and you're not sure why yet, or finding yourself loosening your grip on something, with the reasons becoming clear to you later. The Sun is going to make many important meetings (conjunctions) with other planets, most of which occur right in this dark period between two eclipses (Mercury and Venus are both invisible for most of the next 2 weeks!). Whatever happens at these points will turn out to be very important a few weeks (or months) down the line.
March 15th - Mercury stations Retrograde Keywords for Mercury retrograde include technical and logistical snafus, miscommunications, and delays in travel. With two inner planets (Venus and Mercury) retrograde at the same time, our expectations in every day life will be subverted/inverted/change trajectories a lot. Both planets will also conjoin Neptune as they regress to Pisces, adding even more confusion to the mix.
Mercury will also be squaring Mars for much of this retrograde, bringing speech that start fights, foul language, vicious insults and cutting words. Hidden in the peace offering is a little poisoned dagger.
March 19th - Sun conjunct Neptune
March 20th - Sun enters Aries This month the Sun and Neptune trade places with Venus and Mercury, as the former two enter Aries and the latter two regress to Pisces. All our stories overlap this month, going back and forth between the two signs. Themes we saw in January and February will come back into our lives as Venus and Mercury revisit those points in our charts.
March 22nd - Sun square Retrograde Venus This Venus cazimi (exact conjunction to Sun) takes place halfway through and serves as the turning point of the retrograde. Things won't fully resolve until April, but we'll start seeing how we can move forward. Exalted Venus returns to her throne, but finds matters in disarray.
March 24th - Sun conjunct Retrograde Mercury
March 27th - Retrograde Venus enters Pisces, squares Neptune Venus is in her place of exaltation, while also being weighed down by Saturn and confused by Neptune.
March 29th - Solar Eclipse in Aries Unlike the Virgo eclipse, this is concluding a series of events on the Aries-Libra axis. This eclipse is an especially big deal, as every other eclipse in Aries has coincided with major geopolitical events in the world. For example, Aries/Libra eclipse season a year ago saw Iran and Israel in direct missile conflict, and the next escalation occurred during the following eclipse series (as well as assassinations). Thus a continuation or escalation is unfortunately on the horizon. Decapitations and leaders of assassinations also occur under North Node Aries eclipses. As the sign ruling the head and exaltation of the Sun, leadership especially is implicated during Aries eclipses (and eclipses already indicate political leaders stepping down or disappearing). In terms of Venus and Mars transits, we're seeing a return of 1961 (the Bay of Pigs), 1929 (stock market crash), and 1969 (when Nixon took office and secretly bombed Cambodia). Both our hosts predict major power shifts and rearrangements over the next decade, with important events taking place during flash points like the eclipses. This eclipse is like the earthquake that then sets off a tsunami, which in turn causes a leak from a nuclear power plant.
For personal charts, pay attention to the Aries house of your chart, especially events from last fall (September-October 2024), and last spring (March-April 2024), where we had the first full set of eclipses in Libra and Aries. Our hosts may have to record the April forecast before the events of this eclipse occur, which makes it a big cliffhanger forecast-wise.
I didn't catch a chart in the video, so here's one I pulled from Astro-Seek:
March 30th - Neptune enters Aries, Mercury enters Aries Unlike Venus, Mercury enters into a position of fall here, so the conjunction with Saturn into conjunction with Mercury really hampers our ability to communicate.
Neptune enters Aries for the next 14-15 years (talked about at length in the yearly forecast--here are my notes). Historically, Aries Neptune has brought us some very heroic and also very violent dreams: the US Civil War broke out on a Neptune Aries ingress, and the Taiping Rebellion's bloodiest years were under an Aries Neptune. If that wasn't enough, after the eclipse activating everything in the sign, Saturn is going to be hovering around Neptune just out of exact conjunction distance for the next few months (receding at the end of this year, but coming back with a vengeance in early 2026).
My advice for the month ahead is: brace yourself for the storm and don't act rashly. Listen to your gut, wait it out, and let go of anything dragging you down.

2025 started out with WTF and has not really stopped. If you didn't know:
(EDIT: WE AREN'T EVEN HALFWAY THROUGH JANUARY BASICALLY???)
there's theories of Suckerbitch trying to buy out ByteDance (backed by Facebook making a TikTok acc right before the strange shut down of yesterday, late Jan 18th for all of the us).
The app is trying to praise Trump for saving it, not the thousands of TikTokers like UnderTheDeskNews (who I trust the most about this news since they've been fighting the ban since the trial of Shou [You can actually see them right behind him in footage of the trial]) who've been working their asses off.
The crash happened before the 19th, which scared people shitless because nothing was supposed to happen to the app before then.
Everyone on tiktok is confused.
Ryan Kelly called it we're dating the US gov, which I add to it “and its toxic”.
In order to spite the gov, people flooded to Little Red Book (Xiaohongshu)/Red Note to deliberately say "if China wants to profile me and my family and friends, I'll save them trouble". Which then led to a culture exchange no one in either government wanted to this degree.
THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO PAINT TRUMP AS A HERO WHEN HE'S STARTING MASS DEPORTATIONS IN CHICAGO IN LIKE A DAY OR TWO, AS WELL AS ENACTING PROJECT 2025 IN LESS THAN 24 HOUR (LESS THAN LIKE 6 HOURS AS OF POSTING THIS).
People are glad to use TikTok again cause it's back up but are calling it a ploy to make trump a hero, claiming TikTok doesn't care about users because they didn't communicate with users at all about anything really, because of the message when you are American and open the app back up for the first time since it went down saying "thanks to trump". And many other things, such as the MENTAL BULLSHIT MANY PEOPLE WENT THROUGH BECAUSE OF NO UNDERSTANDING AND THE SHUT DOWN BEING EARLY.
On the brightside - we have a blood lunar eclipse soon? Like a total lunar eclipse that will make the moon red in march?
Either this is the year the US collapses irreparably or it's the year we see George Orwell's 1984 book become real.

The Week Ahead: March 10-16, 2025
Executive summary: we’re in the shadow of the eclipse until April Fool’s Day, Mercury is about to station retrograde, and Venus is already retrograde.
Lunar Phases
Monday, March 10, 08:19 UTC - Gibbous Moon, 5°01’ Leo
The key phrases for the Gibbous lunar phase are “tweak and adjust plans as needed,” and “pour more energy and effort into our intentions.” Much of what we see during this time is performative in nature - it’s useful to be able to discern between what is bluster and what is sincere.
Friday, March 14, 06:55 UTC - Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, 23°57’ Virgo
Because this is an eclipse (which I persist in mistyping as “evlipse”), the usual words don’t apply. It’s a lunar eclipse, too, which means something has to go in order to make room for what the solar eclipse brings. And deep down, despite any sorrow at letting go - and there will be some sorrow - deep down, we know we’re truly more than ready for new things.
Void of Course Moon
Tuesday, March 11, 22:16 UTC (Leo) - Wednesday, March 12, 07:56 UTC (Virgo)
Friday, March 14, 17:47 UTC (Virgo) - 18:59 UTC (Libra)
Sunday, March 16, 09:53 UTC (Libra) - Monday, March 17, 07:30 UTC (Scorpio)
Retrograde/Direct/Etc.
Pre-retrograde shadow: Mercury/Aries (until Saturday the 15th), Pallas/Aquarius, Juno/Sagittarius, Vesta/Scorpio
Retrograde: Mercury/Aries (starting Saturday the 15th), Venus/Aries
Post-retrograde shadow: Mars/Cancer, Jupiter/Gemini
Transiting Mercury enters its “Storm” on Tuesday the 11th. This acts like the retrograde. “Not favorable to start new projects - just follow through with the items that are already on your plate. Write down new ideas with the date and time they occurred.”
And, transiting Mercury stations retrograde on Saturday, March 15, 06:46 UTC, at 9°35’ Aries. Survival tips (from the book Mercury Retrograde by Chrissie Blaze):
Put a temporary stopper on new ideas and use the time to constructively review things that are already underway
Count to three before making those split-second decisions you are normally so good at
Take some of that unused vacation time and relax
Do a kind deed for someone else
Et Cetera
There are no Opportunity Periods this week - considering we have a lunar eclipse, followed (almost exactly 24 hours later) by Mercury stationing retrograde, that shouldn’t be a surprise.
Not a very fun week, then. Best to take care of business, and help each other through this time. Love to you all - let’s make the best of it.

Week of 3/10 - 3/16
astrology forecast + collective tarot card for the week
Card for this week: The Emperor - once known as the weekly card from 9/9/24 (the week i declared to be the most productive week of virgo season 2024), the emperor is back for the virgo lunar eclipse. you're the grounding force for yourself this week! drama may surround us these days, but you're more than equipped to keep yourself stable. hardship is inevitable, but you're standing firm. it levels you less and less as you're able to stick with your plans and learn from past experiences. everything led you here! learn from yourself, recognize how far you've come, and be open to sharing your successes and struggles with those around you who might be in similar situations. you'll recognize how much wisdom you have to share!
Transits/Astro forecast: introspection continues this week (accelerates, even). i'm getting specific with the past transit dates because i've gotten a lot out of reflecting on those specific timeframes lately - perhaps you will too! take what resonates etc etc. this is a fantastic week to clear out any clutter - mental, emotional, physical. the clear-shit-out energy is present all week, but especially friday into the weekend. i would advise keeping this weekend pretty low key - you'll appreciate having the opportunity to downsize and reconfigure. we're firmly in Fated Events territory now through April, and between retrogrades and eclipses.... expect some plot twists. give some extra thought to any major decisions (if you can't hold off until mid April). current retrogrades are mercury and venus.
tuesday 3/11 - mercury conjunct venus rx - last time we had this transit: august 7th 2024. even through the retrograde mayhem, today you'll find communication/brainstorming around social/romantic/artistic matters to flow effortlessly. you're a conduit for thoughts and expression, use this energy!! create!
wednesday 3/12 - sun conjunct saturn - last time we had this transit: february 28th 2024. a checkpoint of sorts- where have you leveled up and where are you putting effort into leveling up? if you've been consistently showing up and putting in the work, that should be clear today! if you need to recalculate where you're steering the ship, that should also be clear today. simplify wherever possible and re-commit yourself to The Process.
friday 3/14 - full moon in virgo, lunar eclipse, sun sextile uranus, mercury stations retrograde - mamma mia! so- last time we had sun sextile uranus: july 18th 2024, and last time we had a virgo lunar eclipse: february 21st 2008 (for good measure- we had virgo solar eclipses in early september 2015 and 2016). LOTS to reflect on in those timeframes - we've been closing out chapters from 2008 for several months now, but there's still more! 17 mighty years - insane to think about. i could say a lot about the virgo lunar eclipse, but the most useful comments i can make are: rest, clean, strategize, simplify and let things unfold. you don't have to hide under the covers! just don't overbook yourself and give plenty of time to process any downloads you might be receiving. sun sextile uranus adds an unconventional and eclectic flair to the day. then, naturally, mercury retrograde enters the picture for the usual logistical/communication chaos. back up your files, give yourself a cushion of time, expect snags for the next 3 weeks. kind of a lot to fit in one day!
potential journal prompts:
first week of venus retrograde check-in - where might you have been deprioritizing yourself in past relationships (romantic or platonic)? what might it look like to "get your spark back"?
Write open-endedly about a cycle you're ready to close. career, relational, lifestyle, anything. Give it a good farewell! focus just on releasing for now, we'll get to the new stuff shortly.
Keeping things super open again- 2008 -> 2015/16 -> 2025 - without applying any specific lens to this analysis, what are the first things that come to mind when you think of those years? what relevant cycles renewed/altered each year listed?
Where in your life might you be craving routine? What can you do to create that?
Not a journal prompt but felt like it belonged down here - clean something random that you don't normally clean or notice much! care for something often overlooked!

Astro Notes on Current Events:
The Fall of Sean 'Diddy' Combs

From my professional perspective: / cw for mentions of abuse:
Diddy's incarceration and undoing coincides w/ Pluto regressing back into Capricorn and conjoining his Mars and many factors but I had my eye on that transit for months. There's no getting out of this one. Our current and incoming south nodes are conjoining planets in his chart which can be associated with domestic power abuse, control issues, and legal disputes being magnified. The SN is associated w/ the 'karma' you inherit or reap from the past.
On Sep 18th, the partial lunar eclipse in Pisces directly opposes his Pluto. Moon-Pluto oppositions can deal with feminine-coded abuse. It's emotional negligence, gaslighting, and a complete conquering of an emotional reality which starts with caregivers. From a legal and symbolic standpoint, this translates to me as the private subjugation of women. Abuse of wives, live-in partners, domestic servants, and child abuse and trafficking.
Saturn isn't aspecting this but its co-presence adds tension to the landscape. The collective needs justice. Being ruled by Jupiter in Gemini for the time being, this has to do with what was said and what can be factually proven. Witness and survivor accounts are going to play a major role here. Saturn is also conjoined with his natal NN which is in retrograde at the moment. In December it'll be direct. From a prosecution standpoint, this is saying they'll have everything they need to charge him by this date or something even more damning may come to light at that time. Dec 10th.
But it goes deeper than you'd think. Many psychics and astrologers have forecasted potential ties to more powerful players coming to light through this. My guess is that they're going to try to pin it all on him..but as quickly as possible. With Mars transiting through all of Cancer between now and November, this happening in the US's 8H and squaring Diddy's Venus planets may be about uncovering that the trafficking and other criminal activity doesn't only incriminate him but anyone w/ power attached to him. It was never just about Diddy. There's more people involved and they're all at risk. I'd argue that astrologically, his Mars's exaltation was protecting him, especially if he has a night chart. But Pluto bouncing from that Mars to continuing its applying square to his Retrograde Saturn in Taurus spells out that any shadiness he thought he could get away with would inevitably come to light..with an ass beating attached. Pluto's official long term ingress in Aquarius starts on Nov 19th.
On March 14th '25, there'll be a total lunar eclipse conjoining his Pluto. There's potentially going to be more charges made and files/documentation being brought in. But on Sep 21st '25, there's a very interesting partial solar eclipse occurring right on the late Kim Porter's 29-degree Virgo Pluto. I'm just going to call it, but if the rumors are true that he played a part in her death, we're going to definitely find out then. Keep your eyes on Sep 21, 2025.
If it doesn't happen then, it'll be a couple eclipses down the line because the next Cancer/Cap eclipse cycle occurs right where Kim Porter's Moon and Diddy's Lilith fall and it's going to reveal how abusive (and fatal) that Moon-Lilith connection was. That's mother-coded and child-coded too. So, anything involving children, pregnancy, etc, may come to light as well. That'll be happening in 2028. Tbh, I'm calling it because there'll also be a partial eclipse on his Juno that's going to be conjoined with her Mercury as well. Kim Porter's life and the darkness she was forced to keep secret is going to fully (and finally) be told very shortly. That man is about to be destroyed. Tbh, it's giving a memoir she may have wanted to have published.
Her scorned (but vindicated) Lilith has a full lunar eclipse occurring on March 3 '26. This is why I'm thinking that it's not just going to be a single decisive punch of getting her spiritual lick back with one eclipse cycle. Kim Porter was an actual inner-planet Scorpio stellium. It's going to be a rolling and incapacitating series of punches. Or of slow and painful dismemberment, quite honestly. Between now and 2028 and beyond, everyone is going to know just how abysmally awful this man is.
But he won't be alone. Oh, no. With Pluto in Aqua occurring right at the start of everything, it'll be the beginning of the end for the entertainment world in its current state.

Proclaiming the Year of Aliyan-Ba'al
KTU 1.78 is quite a peculiar piece of ancient literature. It's an astrological report from Ugarit written in the City's own language and alphabet.¹ Despite being only six lines long, it has been the subject of extended discussion among scholars due to an ominous description of an astronomical event.² This event was identified early on by researchers with a solar eclipse dated to 1375 BCE, but a 1989 reexamination by astronomer Teije De Jong and Assyriologist W.H. van Soldt pointed to another solar eclipse, of 1223 BCE, as a more likely candidate.¹,³,⁴
This challenged the prevailing view of the timeframe of the Ugaritic texts.⁵ An even fuller picture thereof has emerged from research upon texts including those discovered in the house of a Diviner named Agaptharri.⁶ Three of these are particularly intriguing in relation to the Ba'al cycle, one of them even providing insight into the ritual aspect of the myth. It's classified as RS 24.293 and it involves 𒀭Mot, the God of Death who swallows up 𒀭Ba'al before being destroyed by 𒀭Maiden Anat to restore Her Brother to life.⁷
The Fourth Tablet of Ba'al itself, written by the scribe Ilimilku of Shuban under 𒀭'King Niqmaddu IV of Ugarit (formerly reckoned “Niqmaddu III”) around the same time as the apparent eclipse, also contains a portion of broken text which bridges 𒀭Ba'al the Victorious' Great Theophany and His instructions to the Lads 𒀭Gapn and 𒀭Ugar to deliver His message to 𒀭Mot. Restoration of the text shows it appears to refer to the Sun, personified as 𒀭Shapash the Luminary of the Gods, being cloaked in gloom as a grim omen.⁸,⁹ I think it's easy to see the connection I'm making here; I believe these two eclipses can be taken together as a sort of symbolic epoch.
The date was recorded as the Month of Khiyyaru during the New Moon which was the first Day of the Month in the Ugaritic calendar.¹ This lunar calendar has twelve months beginning just before the Autumnal Equinox in September. There was a modern version on Tess Dawson's Natib Qadish website but it's no longer present and I'm interested in repurposing it if I can figure out the math involved (especially with intercalation).
In any case, under the De Jong and van Soldt dating we are now in Year 3248 of Ba'al the Victorious starting in late Summer of 2024 CE and ending in late Summer of 2025 CE. This is of course the first actual use of such a dating system, so it's only appropriate for it to take place on the civil New Year's Day. Shulmu 𒁲𒈬 and Happy New Year to all!
