No, but like, WHY do people care so much about other people ship preferences?

I get it, I don't ship the obvious ones or the "right" or what was given to me by the author, but IS JUST A SHIP.

Look, don't get me wrong, I'm not angry at other preferences when it comes to this. What I get annoyed at is that when there is an illustration, an edit, a fucking fic, any kind of media, that shows that romantic dynamic between the characters they will be like

"siblings 🩷" "omg no how could ship that? They aren't like that." "Have you read the books ?" "Omg, people actually ship them?" "The author said..." "omg but this (name of other ship), it's so much better," and so on.

My beautiful person who comments in every edit of (some examples, but I'm sure that there's more) harmony, lunami, zutara, sasusaku .... do you really think that they/we don't know or care about this ? Do you know what you look like when u comment stuff like that? An idiot who can't let others have a different opinion on literally fiction character's romance life, like that one kid in kindergarten who saw another kid getting a toy and go's on about how that toy is lame compared to theirs, a spoiled brat.

You have so many things to be arguing about in the actual plot, but you can't cus you think that the idea of nami and luffy together is so wrong that you go around in every media of them "oda said..." But with other members of the crew, oda said absolutely nothing... not only that, but are we really discussing this ? Can we be talking about I don't know... how racist and hypocrites are some people in this famdon? Really give your disappointment and disgust to that(what is actually important).

Harry and Hermione are another great example of "I know they aren't like that but I like the idea of it" WE KNOW THEY AREN'T LIKE THAT but we think is cute it could HAVE BEING cute, sometimes people just grow up shipping and seeing they as a possible couple, like people who grow hating sakura and now simply can't have a actually good argument of why she should be hated on... that was an ironic comment by the way but also not, ( no, her not liking the main character the same way shouldn't be one, or the author not giving her screen time either much less cus of the fact the the anime did her dirty with so much disconnect things from the manga, like her relationship with sasuke <his perspective of it > or naruto himself for that matter, hate on a literally 12 years old for saying shit that every fucking person in the village grew up thinking, funny, why not hate on the thirdkage then? The person who could have actually stopped the hate on a little kid) [Sorry that got out of the main point]

Or zutara, my God, people get personal with just as harmony, relax, just cus I like them doesn't mean I hate kataang, surprise or not I do think they are indeed very cute, I'm pretty sure some other people who ship zutara too... we just see the potential, what could have happened, once again, enemies to friends to loves, the plot, you know ? There is no need to get offended by the IDEA of it. We love the drama and the fic, the illustrations, the edits are just a format that represents and shows it, share if people who likes it, you don't like it ? Oh well, let me tell you a secret, ignore it, you probably ignore so much more important things, why not a fucking edit of ship you don't even like ?, oh you can't ? You can't see other people "toy" and shut about your disappointment on it, is it that hard ?, oh well, have you actually not known that there's an amazing thing within social media, when you hold/press or simply click on the 3 dots on the top of the post, there's a option there, that's right, BLOCK IT the algorithm will understand if you continue blocking it, unlike some people.

I'm just rambling about this because I'm sick and tired of people being such a killjoy, I just want to enjoy "my ship" and see the comments of people who actually likes it to, not yours "siblings 🩷" in post which is definitely not about that, or "oda said..." when i didn't ask what he said, you know people have different things that brings them a scape from reality that brings them a funny giggle (no killing others people joy, when it's such a basic no harmful thing), wave of emotion for those who don't get to feel much in the day-to-day life or simple just cus.

This isn’t a SaNami post but can someone explain to me why LuNa is so popular? I don’t want to start any shipping wars but it might be the most popular Luffy ship and I don’t really know why.

I try to understand LuNa shippers by reading stuff about them but the only valid reason is just in a few cover arts Nami is wearing a crown as if she’s the “Pirate Queen”; I understand this but it only happens like two or three times.

Another reason people use is Nami looks like Rouge which for mostly every woman and One Piece looking like Nami and Rouge definitely not looking like her this isn’t a very valid reason.

They have some great moments but to be honest they are all just them being good friends, they are all really emotional moments that Luffy has had with every other member of the crew. Is it just because they are the main male and female characters or am I missing something? Anyways live laugh love SaNami.

My very first OC. Her name is Sheilla (Pronounced Sheirra —cause I love how it sounds). She's 39. I came up with her character when I was having a scenario about Lunami awhile ago, and I think I wanna make her real cause I wanna make her a big deal, at least to me.

She lives in the One Piece World, of course. And in my head she's Rayleigh's nephew, and she has mastered all three kinds of haki and also really good at using sword in a fight. There's more to her, I'll probably write a fanfic with her in it and more of her will come up.

i was literally fangirling about lunami on my twitter account, i forgot i had this blog 😭

very random idea I had at some point: if the ships royai (Mustang/Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist) and lunami (Luffy/Nami from One Piece) were ever up against each other in a fight, their chances of winning would depend entirely on whether they fight one-on-one or use teamwork.

Because if they split up, Nami probably wouldn't stand much of a chance against Hawkeye unless she's faster to pull out the thunderbolt tempo than Hawkeye is to shoot, and Luffy might have a bit of a hard time with Mustang's fire powers (because of Ace).

BUT if they work together, royai doesn't really stand a chance. Nami instantly renders Mustang useless by making it rain. Luffy is immune to Hawkeye's bullets. It's pretty one-sided.

Then my brain Did A Thing where it decided to throw in another ship and make it a three-way battle. What if we decided to throw rivetra (Levi/Petra from Attack on Titan)?

A major factor to consider would be the terrain. If it's a flat plain, ODM gear wouldn't help at all. Let's say it's a forest or town. I would say that being able to move quickly and attack from the air would be a major advantage for these two (and we already know that Levi can escape bullets while airborne). Depending on what stage of the battle they're in and who attacks who first, there is a chance that either royai or rivetra would hang back to observe and let the other two fight it out before swooping in for the win (we all know that Luffy is going to charge straight into battle).

So saying who exactly comes out on top becomes extremely difficult. Luffy is weak against blades, but does he have Haki at this point? Has he already unlocked Gear Five? Does Nami use Thunderbolt Tempo against the metal ODM gear? Does Mustang have spare gloves? Who strikes first?

At a rough guess, I'm going to have to say that Luffy (IF he has unlocked gears 4/5 and can use Haki) is going to win. Nami doesn't even need to do much, she can pretty much just make some rain and lightning and then hang back to watch the rest of the fighting.

More of this to come. If you guys want me to analyse battles between other ships and make a guess at who comes out on top, feel free to ask!

(ik you mentioned cross guild somewhere but i don't think you talked about them and i love them sm. also, the appeal of boa/reiju to me is like. warrior princesses learning how to be human together, yknow?)

frobin - compelling, makes sense.

i recommend people frobin fanfiction all the time i made fanart for the most popular frobin fanfiction and it's what people on twitter know me for, yeah. i like frobin. freak for freak t4t love is the best kind of love there is. they have the best visual gag in all the series.

thematically, them being together is self expression. robin loves him because she truly relates to him enough to know what its like to be in his position and have the strength to do what he's done. the opposite is true for him. they are the greatest avenue of each others self expression, both what they are and what they admire, and isn't that the romantic ideal?

cross guild - compelling, makes sense.

i sound smart in these things, because im an articulate person. i'm going to briefly not sound smart, and say that those three men are the hottest beings alive and if they fuck it's my personal sexual fantasy. k back to sounding smart

cross guild is another one of those ships i find funny so I'm inclined towards, but the thing that compels me (especially on the mihawk and buggy end) is how preformative they all are. i think it makes for some incredibly compelling character drama, even when they haven't interacting that much in canon, but mihawk and buggy and croc all have this element of "im presenting it like i'm not a loser but i am and the only reason you think it's cool is because of my social status" and I'm always a sucker for character commentary on what level of preformative someones personality is vs how genuine it is.

luffy/nami - compelling and makes sense, (you probably missed it anon but i'll say it again, every eb5 combination you give is a hard yes from me. i am the merryshipper.)

what isn't there to love about these two? luffy is silly, but gives her the sanctity and security she craves. she gives him her presence and love in return. they love eachother a lot, and colead the strawhats together. nami often overthinks and it's the comfort she needs to listen to luffy and the opposite is true of him, he's reckless and it's a comfort he gets to listen to her. they're a team. a very silly team.

it's ultimately how mutual their partnership is that makes them a compelling ship, how nami comforts luffy and vice versa and how they can rely on eachother and how luffy accepts her unconditionally and nami accepts him conditionally. they see eachother as very safe. it's adorable.

boa/rejiu - never would've considered this before but you convinced me. im an easy person to convince on this front.

i'd write this. it's definitely more compelling to me than tashigi and reiju, as i think boa balances her out wonderfully. boa is a very traumatized girl, and reiju is too, and youve figured out that's my favourite thing in wlw ships by now surely.

boa getting to be a puppy girl towards reiju, and i think boa would be attracted towards reiju, as i think what she loves about luffy is how unaffected he is by her, she's not treated like a commodity. reiju would be similar and probably delight in the attention even though she's convinced herself she is unaffected by most if not all things, and they'd really be very healthy towards eachother. i think boa and reiju have both experienced sexism from men in their lives, in similar and opposite ways almost, and i think they'd draw each other out of what is deemed most "comfortable" for them.

i wont lie, i relate to boa hancock a lot (as i tend to relate to all women in one piece who have fucked up relationships towards men, this does say something about me! if you were wondering) and i think reiju is a tragic figure who is unable to prioritize herself as above the men in her life her relationship towards sanji is fucked. absolutely makes me uncomfortable in the way that i do not care for sanji at all and completely emphasize with her. im in love with her and want her to prioritize herself and i will kill oda for fucking real if she doesnt get a happy ending i love reiju so much i hated every minute she was onscreen in wci and i dont talk about it very often because she makes me want to cry. i do not vibe with her narrative at all in whole cake but i'm unsure if that's a moral beef i have with oda or with her.

okay. damn. im done. personal experience aside. i love this ship thanks for igniting my new obsession.
