sorry for the inconsistency, have an exam tmrw so was prepping for it. kind of feel unprepared still, but plan is to wake up early and revise all my portions 2× before the exam :) hoping everything goes well! ♡

hey, to the indian ppl on tumblr, they uploaded spotify mods that work! no more ads every 30 mins <3
they do work a bit weird (attaching pic below), definitely and you can't loop songs anymore? there might be more functions that don't quite work right, but as far as ads and playlists are concerned, they're working 100% ok! 👍🏼

From one burnt out student to another
This semester has been an absolute nightmare for me, so welcome to the resulting post where I try to help other people who are in the same boat!
How about we run through a quick list together, okay?
Unclench your jaw, relax your shoulders, relax your face, unclench your fists
Are you sitting in the shape of a C right now? *hitting you with a broom* straighten your back out!!
Maybe get up and stretch while you're at it!
Have you taken your meds today? If not, go get 'em.
Have you eaten enough today? Coffee/energy drinks are not a meal!!
What have you eaten today? Do you need to get something to snack on?
Have you had any water today?
Do you need to rest? There is NO shame in taking a nap or relaxing. If someone does shame you, send them my way
How long has it been since you moved from where you are right now? Maybe move to another room if you can.
How long has it been since you looked away from your screen? Take a little 5-10 minute break to rest your eyes :)
How long has it been since you've showered? (No shame in this one either, it's okay if you can't do it. You're not judged here.)
Do you need to get into some fresh, comfy clothes?
If the weather in your area will allow it, can you open a window or go sit outside?
Affirmations:
My grades do not define me
I am more than a grade/a gpa
I am allowed to make mistakes
I am allowed to rest
Taking breaks is necessary for my well being
This semester/school year will not last forever

Take your trash out
Pick stuff up off the floor if there is anything
Do your dishes/run the dishwasher
Do a load of laundry/put any clothes away
Journal
Schedule any needed doctor's/dentist's/therapy appointments
Leave your home for a little bit
Go do something you enjoy
Create something
Go for a walk
Cook your favorite meal
You are doing amazing, and I'm so proud of you. You can and will get through this. You're not alone <3

today was fine i s'pose 𔓘 – evening kinda got wasted away. there was a wedding nearby, and they blasted away music (which in all totality is, fair) which had me distracted, lol. hopefully tmrw goes better productivity wise!! 𐙚

dealing with study burnout
it’s that moment when the textbooks, notes, and exams start to feel overwhelming. what can you do to avoid study burnout?

take regular breaks -> follow the pomodoro technique or take short breaks every 45-60 minutes.
set realistic goals -> break your study sessions into smaller, manageable tasks.
instead of cramming an entire chapter in one sitting, focus on mastering one section at a time.
mix up your study routine -> alternate between reading, writing, watching videos, or using flashcards.
practice self-care -> get enough sleep, stay hydrated (~72 oz), and eat nourishing foods. incorporate exercise, whether it's a quick walk, or a gym session.
know when to step back -> taking a break occasionally will help you return to your studies feeling refreshed and ready to focus.
practice mindfulness -> try practicing meditation to calm your mind. even a 5-minute session can help you reset mentally and emotionally.
headspace - a great guided meditation app, the only con is the pricing
here are some good free alternatives tho:

runner
medito
connect with others -> even a quick chat about how you’re feeling can make a huge difference in your mood and motivation.
celebrate small wins -> don’t wait until you’ve finished a whole subject to feel accomplished.
celebrate the small victories—whether it’s finishing a section, acing a practice quiz, or just sticking to your study plan for the day.
adjust your expectations -> if things don’t go exactly to plan, don’t beat yourself up. adjust your expectations and keep moving forward.
take time to unplug -> unplugging for a few hours can give you a much-needed mental break.
I can guarantee that less social media makes my mood better, not just for studying but for social interactions. try making a dedicated time of the day where you step away from screens!!

☆ did classes on all three days (6hr + 1 hr + 2 hr)
☆ did physics tuition on wednesday after such a long time! (3 hr)
☆ finished biological classification
☆ finished revising collisions.
☆ did mcqs on work, power and energy & NLM
☆ finished chemical bonding and solved some mcqs.
aaahh, took a break on tuesday eve. went to tuition that day, and it left me so tired by the end of it lol. but i don't feel as guilty since i got 4 hrs of studying done in the morning! ^^
wednesday & thursday were...not great – i feel i like i could've (and should have) gotten a lot more done. i have a test this sunday, and i am not feeling very prepared ://
to end on a brighter note ✨️, the weather's been great!!! :)) definitely bit surprising, given the place i'm from, (winters don't set in before dec usually) but it's so pleasant, i'm loving every bit of it ❄️ <3

Prepare for your classes ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Wake up on time. We don't want to be stressed first thing in the morning, right?
Eat breakfast. So you will be able to better focus in class.
Assigned reading and homework. Make sure you are prepared for your classes!! :)
Review your notes. Going through some of your flashcards before class is really helpful.
Check your bag and charge your devices. Ensure you have everything you need: Books, homework, chargers, pens, water...

Listen and pay attention. You can save yourself a lot of trouble by simply paying attention, trust me.
Take notes. My favourite note-taking method is the Cornell method; I can make a separate post on that!! <3
"Quick notes." If you struggle with note-taking, try taking quick and messy notes. You can clean them up once you get home!!
Engage. If you have any questions or don't understand something, make sure to ask!! Most teachers really appreciate students who speak up. :)
No distractions. Turn off your phone, no chatting, you'll be glad...

Finish your assignments as soon as you can. Go home, put on a cosy outfit, have a snack, and get working!! <3
Prepare flash cards. A great way of reviewing your notes, too... :)
Update your Study schedule. Write down any assignment and due dates, reading you must do, upcoming tests, etc...
Clean up your notes. Review them, highlight the important parts, and maybe even make them look cute!! :)
Don't avoid topics/Subjects you dislike. I know it is tempting, but you can't avoid them forever, so you might as well get them done

Structure and routine ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Goals and Priorities. Keep them realistic and manageable.
Time management. Having a set schedule makes studying less overwhelming; it takes some discipline but is so worth it!! <3
Develop a routine. Figure out what works best for you; I prefer studying in the morning or at night.
No "zero days". Even if you can only do a bit, do it!! NO. ZERO. DAYS.
Remember your goals. Dreams will keep you motivated; remind yourself of what you're working for!! <3

Self-care and balance ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Don't forget about your hobbies. You need to do things that make you happy, so make time for those things!!
Maintain a balanced diet. I know chocolates and junk are tempting, especially when you are busy studying all day, but you're not doing yourself any favours.
Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. 8 Hours. Non-negotiable.
Exercise regularly. Even if it's just a walk, put on some headphones, listen to music, and give yourself a break. <3
Care for your social life. Reach out to your friends, make plans, and keep in touch; a good work-life balance is critical!!

Study dates. Meet up with your friends at a cosy cafe, discuss your work, and have some fun!! Studying doesn't have to be all serious all the time ;)
Silly Pinterest boards. Visualising your goals will help you find motivation!!
Music to set the mood. I have a bunch of playlists on my Spotify that might help!! <3
Cosy sweater and candles. The cosy Rory Gilmore vibes haha...
Getting a coffee before class. A little treat before things get serious... Simple pleasures, you know? :)

I'm a sucker for handwritten notes. Give me the option and I'll always write them by hand. I love scrawling words and using odd pens and filling the margins with afterthoughts and extra details. There's a certain magic to pen and paper that a tablet or laptop can just never match.
