i got this tattoo for the lesbians who got the same ink to symbolize who they were but so much smaller so it could be concealed easily. they are the reason i get to be me. the lesbians the trans people who came before are always paving the way for the younger generations to be able to be safer and happier. I realized that most of the lesbians whowould have gotten this tattoo are probably dead. They’re gone, they’ve done their time, but they have a legacy; one that i am honored to wear. I’m so grateful to have a community, history, and identity. I wouldn’t have those without the incredible people who came before me. This tattoo is to remind me of them.

Shame
I’m ashamed of who I am, of who I love. I wish it was easy, and I wish I could just be normal, but I never will. I don’t think I’ll ever love a man the way I love a woman. I can’t appreciate a man’s ruggedness and aggression. Maybe it stems from my father, or maybe it's my nature. A girl is who I can love, and sometimes I’m ashamed because society won’t view me the same. A girl has soft features or sharp ones, no matter what, they are kind. Not all women are sweet and soft. Some are strong and brave, and I love both. Women care about the little details and big ones. I’m glad I can experience what it’s like to love a woman, but I’m disappointed in society and my loved ones that they will not accept that I will marry a woman. I’ll always be an outcast because for some people, one of their biggest fears is love, a love that is shared between the same sex. It’s sad that so many people fear their loved ones may love the same gender. It’s sad they are afraid of love.

Love Between Women ― Medieval Poetry
Sparked by a conversation with a friend―in honor of pride month, I am delighted to share my dearest takeaway from my medieval women's history course in university.
Tumblr media
To G―, her one-and-only rose,  from A― the bond of precious love.  What strength have I, that I may bear it,  that I may have patience while you are gone?  Is my strength that of stones that I should wait for your return,  I who do not cease to ache night and day, like one who lacks both hand and foot?  Without you all that is joyous and delightful becomes like mud trodden underfoot,  instead of rejoicing I shed tears,  my spirit never appears joyful.  When I remember the kisses you gave, and with what words of joy you caressed my little breasts, I want to die as I am not allowed to see you.  What shall I, unhappiest [of women], do?  Where shall I, the poorest [of women], turn?  Oh if my body had been consigned to the earth till your longed-for return,  or if Habakkuk’s trance-journey came upon me, that I might once come to see my lover’s face―  then I’d not care if in that hour I should die! For in the world there is no woman born so lovable, so dear,  one who loves me without feigning, with such deep love.  So I shall not cease to feel the endless pain till I win the sight of you again.  Indeed, as a certain wise man says, it is a great misery for a man not to be with him without whom he cannot be.  While the world lasts,  you’ll never be effaced from the centre of my heart.  Why say more?  Return, sweet love! Do not delay your journey longer, know that I cannot bear your absence longer. Farewell, remember me!

Red White and Royal Blue - The MOVIE
I have some (spoiler free) opinions and I'm ready to talk.
Tumblr media
My thoughts on the Red White and Royal Blue movie starring Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Henry and Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex Claremont-Diaz.
First and foremost, I think the cast did an amazing job. Taylor's Alex was the heart of the movie and Henry's Henry was absolutely the soul. Sarah Shahi?? Let's be honest, she's another reason we fell in love with the book! They filled the movie with emotionality that is what made us all fall in love with the book in the first place. I don't think there was one wrong casting here.
It made great cinematic choices, imo. I loved the way they did the phone calls, and the lake scene - Nicholas gets a 15/5 for that scene.
I am going to try to keep this as spoiler free as possible, that being said. As an adaptation I give it a 3/5. HOWEVER, as a standalone movie it's easily a 4-4.4/5. Maybe even a 5/5 depending on enjoyability. This is not a flaw, it just is what it is.
Big changes: No June - sorry y'all, but that's what happens often in adaptations, especially ones that don't HAVE HP budgets. It's going to be very rare to get those kind of adaptations. No Congressman Luna. We have another bad guy with different motives. But that's all I can really talk about without spoilers.
Now, had this been able to be adapted to a limited series, it would have been a much better adaptation - look at Heartstopper.
All of that being said, I don't really care to hear anyone complain that it's silly, or unrealistic, cheesy or any kind of negativity that you wouldn't give a straight comparable movie.
Queer folk are allowed to have a silly romcom, or a romcom without trauma porn. Queer folk are allowed to take up all the room at the table if they so choose. Audrey Plaza would have had justification if this was her story and that's the kind of content I want. (If you know you know).
Queer people deserve to have a million movies where they get their happy ever after without the trauma of existence. The fact that so many people (usually those who aren't LGBTQ+) want queer media that is full of trauma p*rn and y'all that's real fucking weird.
Queer people deserve movies and shows where they have wonderful supportive parents who love them and only want what's best for them, and yes talks to them about needing the HPV vaccines and PrEP. Queer people deserve media where they get to do all the things that opposite sex couples get to do without it being taboo - sex in a supply room, stolen kisses in front of Alexander Hamilton, slow dancing in a closed museum, words and affirmations for their eyes and ears only.
So, this went on way too long, but enjoy it for what it is. And what i is is two young men falling in love, hooking up whenever they can, and existing in this world that so often doesn't want queer folk existing at all.
Excuse me while I go watch it a third time. kthxbyyeeee
(Also, the movie was dedicated to Taylor's sister, Kristy, who unfortunately passed away from a courageous battle with stage IV cancer a few months ago. Taylor said in an interview that she was looking for to it and let's all send him some love. Especially given that they are on strike and he's not able to share this with the world as much.)

sending thoughts and love to all my american friends, moots, and followers right now.
this is a horrible day in history and i am genuinely scared for the future of not only america, but the entire world.
the idea that a felon, a convicted felon is in that office right now when criminals don’t even have the right to vote i think should show everything just how upside down this election was.
the implications of trump being in office puts the health and safety of every woman, every person of colour and every member of the lqbtq+ community in danger.
sending prayers.

Writing Indigenous characters as a white author
Hey guys! So I am an author currently writing a book series and I need some help. Making sure that that my characters and story lines are a respectfully diverse and inclusive is really important to me. Personally I am lqbtq+, I am plus sized, I am afab, I struggle with mental health, im neurodivergent, and I am not christian. These are all things I am able to write about from first hand and personal experience. However, I am white, and making sure that I have all kinds of representation for different cultures and people groups is also majorly important to me. Its also very important to me that while I include lots of representation, it never ends up being stereotypical of a charicature of what people assume people in these groups and cultures to look or act or sound like. These things are important parts of them and their background yes, but I make sure it never becomes their whole personality I am pretty well educated and researched about a lot of different cultures and already have a widely diverse cast of charactes, but I want to also include representation of native communities, especially native American because I live in America, and that's where a lot of this story takes place. In general I want to become more educated about being respectful towards the culture, about the history of what these communities have gone through, and just being aware of things that I should be aware of but I'm not. But because of how terrible the US government is and always has been towards these communities and covering their tracks in history, I am very wary about getting information from traditional sources like books and media that aren't reliable
So what I'm asking is if there is anyone out there who is or knows anyone who is native, of any nation, not just the US, who would be willing and interested in doing an interview of sorts, over text or zoon, whatever you are comfortable with, then I want to extend that invitation! Please let me know!
I just want to make sure that I am portraying native culture in the most accurate and respectful way A little but about the story for context by the way is that it follows a girl who is a witch who grew up in a home of other witches and magic users. Just like her, all of these kids had to leave their family's and homes because they became unsafe after they started showing signs of having powers. Not everyone who has powers comes from families that are like them. Some kids are born into families that don't know about magic and become abusive out of disgust or fear of the magic. The story follows this girl's journey and her friends and family
So yea, if you or anyone you know is interested please let me know! you can comment or message me here if you like, you can also reach me on instagram @ strawberry.fras or my email which is [email protected]
Thanks so much loves!
-Sam
P.s. if you have any better ways to get in touch with people who can help me out I would seriously appreciate it <3

We've been comparing Daenera and Aemond's relationship to Rhaenyra and Daemon's. Twin flames; one soul. But will history compare them to another uncle/niece duo in the dynasty - Maegor and Rhaena?
Aemond killed a nephew, helped to userp the throne, and is going to marry a niece against her will, much like Maegor himself did. In F&B, at least to me, Aemond seemed to have more in common with Maegor than he ever did with Daemon.
And I can see similarities between Rhaena and Daenara. Rhaena was an lqbtq woman that was fierce and extremely strong to have gone through all the crap she went through and not have it destroy her. Dae is in a similar position that Rhaena was in when Maegor married her, and Dae hasn't given up and broken like a weaker person might have in her shoes. Rhaena was also fiece when it came to those she loved, like Dae.
Tumblr media
Although, depending on how your story goes, Daenera might be compared to another of Maegor's wives - Tyanna of the Tower. Tyanna was said to be some sort of sorceress and extremely dark in personality. She worked more in the shadows and used poisons and potions. My thought is that Maegor met his twin flame in her. Tyanna matched his darkness. Daenera is some kind of magical something, she uses poisons and medicinal plant remedies, she can be cruel and vindictive when need be, and now she's being forced to work in the shadows. Also, Aemond constantly thinks that Daenera's darkness matches his own.
Tumblr media
Or maybe the comparisons will all depend on who is telling the story and she gets compared to both in the future.
Tumblr media
I think the comparison will depend on who is telling the story--like so may other things. It's all in the eye of the beholder. And I hope that their time after the war will give some more faith in the better versions of their story being told. But I fear many will see Aemond as the bad guy, and it's 50/50 on Daenera.
I do like the parallel between Rhaenyra/Daemon and Daenera/Aemond--but I also get why there might be more comparisons between Aemond/Maegor.
We'll also see how the people are feeling towards Aemond next chapter 😉

Feature artist Friday!!
Hi guys! As an art student who spends a lot of my free time looking for interesting contemporary artists to study, I thought I could create a little series on some minority artists whose work I personally find absolutely amazing, to hopefully share their art with a wider range of people, since appreciating indie/contemporary minority artists is something that is extremely important and not particularly accessible to the general public.
This is especially important to me as a minority (lqbtq+, disabled/chronically ill, afab, neurodiverse) artist myself. My goal in making these artists and their work more accessible to everyone may include explaining things that many people already know, including art terminology that many artist will be familiar with but not the general public, and explaining the artists minority backgrounds in detail as I feel as though a major step in minority inclusion stems from wider-spread understanding. I am white British and obviously not a member of every minority that I will be covering so if I get things wrong, especially in regards to ethnicity, please feel free to correct me and edits will be made to the post.
Our first artist is, drumroll please…
CRYSTAL WORL
Tumblr media
Tw//Animal skin
We’re focusing on Alaska and its native populations today with Crystal Kaakeeyáa Rose Demientieff Worl (She/her), who is an absolutely amazing multimedia, multidisciplinary artist. She also shares part of her name (Rose) with me! (this isn’t important I just find it cool).
She is Deg Hit’an Athabascan from Fairbanks Alaska and Tlingit from Raven moiety, Sockeye Clan, from the Raven House, (Groups of native Alaskan people) as well as Filipino (People from the Philippines).
-Check out Crystal’s page on the First Peoples Fund here and find out ways to give here
-Find out more about Athabascan people here and here (wikipedia page here)
-Find out more about Deg Xinag, the extremely (like very extremely omg) endangered native language of the Deg Hit’an people here and here (wikipedia page here)
-Find out more about Tlingit people here (wikipedia page here)
-Find out more about Philippine history here (wikipedia page here)
Her work centres strongly on her ethnic background, as she recreates and modernises her clan's stories, as well as focusing on relationships and bonds between her people, the land, and the animals. One of her aims is to  bring attention to Indigenous issues relevant to Alaska, such as protecting the environment and wildlife in Alaska.
Now this woman is absolutely amazing. I have never seen anyone who employs such a range of multimedia (different types of art) techniques the way she does. She does things like graphic design (a type of art that’s about communicating things and transmitting messages), printmaking (which is- like stamping designs you make from  a rubber stamp to something like fabric or wood) , and painting. Those are pretty common forms of visual art, but that's not all she does! She also does less typical forms of art! Beading (art created using beads), stuff in fashion design and also traditional skin sewing (which is all about sewing animal skins into clothing (source)) She also makes jewellery and does some awesome things with glass.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s painted some pretty weird (and massive) things, like a basketball court in Sitka (a part of Alaska), a mural that’s 125 feet by 48 feet in Anchorage (Alaska's largest city) and some resin panels which were installed as guard rails in the newly renovated Juneau (Alaska’s capital city) International Airport. Some other strange and cool things she's designed art for include an ambulance, and an entire plane!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She also has some art that you can use as your Google Chrome background!
Tumblr media
Here is a link to her website, and you can shop her work here. You can learn more about and find out ways to donate/support Alaskan native people here.

-damn this episode is going right for the feelings
-also the more it progresses the more explicitly gay the show get's with it's side characters...right??
-this is so tragically beautiful
-aight not so tragically beautiful now stop killing your gays please :'<
-yeah boy he know's what you mean (what is the song in the background of them in this scene??)
-dome's lil focused face, god they're both clueless good luck to them <3
-even if they don't outright come out and say that this was a gay love story, this show is one for the history books, but it would even slap more if this was an outright lqbtq story with the same plot...like i need producers from here on out to understand that, have shows like this but that are explicitly gay...would it really have subtracted from the overall success if they had gone there??
-'think about the person you are longing for'...i just need y'all to know i am ben affleck with a cigarette at all times watching this show

What has DeSantis done for Florida?
He banned books that promote multiculturalism, history, and diversity.
He made the state open carry making it easier for mass killers to be successful.
He made society untenable for migrants causing a mass exodus, damaging construction, farming, and other jobs that rely on immigrants.
He made sure teachers can be arrested for teaching the truth causing a critical educator shortage to worsen.
He battles Disney causing the state’s largest employer to cancel new projects.
He put a 6 week ban on abortion making Forced Birth the law from Panhandle to the Keys.
He made sure parents of Trans Kids can lose custody.
He cruelly promotes bigotry against LQBTQ+ Kids likely increasing suicide rates.
He rejected AP African American Studies further whitewashing history, and discriminating against Black Citizens.
