my take on beast & ancient swap au burning spice & golden cheese edition

i have this au expanded bc i've been thinking about it for the past month or so, but i want to share some basic ideas i came up with for a bs & gc swap during all this time even if most of it seems kinda obvious

so basically golden cheese, formerly the herald of change, now holds the soul jam of destruction and her corruption has its roots in her greed obv, as time passed it grew bigger and bigger until it became harmful to everyone around her. she treats everything and everyone as her property, but not in a healthy way and believes that she can do whatever she wants with what is hers, thus being destruction. the whole world is already hers and she's so rich and spoiled that the treasures are not precious anymore and now are just some toys to play with until they break and she founds new ones. she can afford it. more and more and more and more

her appearance resembles more of a snake now than a bird. she flies much less than her og version and her wings are usually down, but it doesn't make her dislike using her wings

burning spice holds the light of abundance. he is a strong, brave and kind hero, he isn't greedy, in fact he's really generous. same as the og golden cheese, has lost his kingdom he deared so much in a war. but unlike her, he didn't make a virtual version of it, instead he tried to move on and build a new one from scratch, starting off small, which he succeeds to do much later on. as much as he enjoys witnessing the creation of something new, watching the new life spark, he still misses everything he held so dear before

his looks are inspired from his pre-corruption silhouette from the official beasts introduction video. normally, he has 4 arms, but after the first fight with golden cheese, she rips off the extra 2 of them. as he awakens, he gets his 6 arms

both the spice gang and the cheese gang are alive and well here and now

the spice gang is helping burning spice to regain his kingdoms prosperity, however only nutmeg tiger made it to beast-yeast together with burning spice by an accident

the cheese gang follow golden cheese more out of their own greed, trying to survive and get a piece of the riches

obviously, smoked cheese is swapped with nutmeg tiger. nutmeg tiger is still a strong mighty warrior, a proud general of burning spices kingdom. she shows a lot of care and loyalty to burning spice, always standing by his side. she has her own garden in the kingdom to take care of the plants because of her in-game sprite where she smiles watering the plants and i thought it was hella cute to ignore lol

smoked cheeses appearance and attitude didn't really change much because he was already villainous enough. but now he's extra villainous. he might be actually the only one to truly admire golden cheeses toxic greed, but is always ready to stab her back if anything for his own greater good. he's just as evil and greedy as her and he waits for a perfect moment to strike and take everything to himself, which didn't happen yet

mozzarella, being swapped with cilantro cobra, just like her gets killed by her ruler too. golden cheese accidentally kills mozzarella in her pursuit for burning spice

her loyal marzipan cookies followed her everywhere, listening to her orders

burnt cheese is swapped with safron buffalo and fettuccine with pepper pangolin

cheesebirds are swapped with kulfis. cheesebirds, just as og kulfis, live in fear and only wish to survive. elder kulfi (now high priest kulfi) is swapped with high priest cheesenbird (now elder cheesebird)

elder cheesebird and young cheesebird give burning spice and nutmeg tiger a shelter. young cheesebird later on gets saved by burning spice in his first fight with golden cheese

high priest kulfi is the holy healing herald of the burning spice kingdoms house of prayer and is a dear friend of burning spice

there is much-much more ideas and thoughts i can yap about, but im not a writer, i wanted to keep it as short as possible and also english isn't my first language so the language barrier is demolishing me lol im sorry if it was painful to read

i might actually redesign the designs a little bit later, those are just some random sketches i did to kinda imagine the blurry shape i have in my head on a paper as a whole, not getting into the details. and if a lot of yall like it i might actually put an effort and draw something much more than just two raw simple sketches lol

I'm just going to say this, the first thing I read about CatNap is he likes watching his friends sleep.

So that's how this starts.

As usual, CatNap has a cartoon/plush form and a monster form in my AU.

I talk a bit more about this in the DogDay concept.

CatNap, in his more innocent plush form, is docile, gentle, bashful, and highly impressionable according to the wiki.

CatNap can have an eerie presence but he is usually very calming.

He prioritizes proper rest, especially towards you.

When left all alone in Playcare, he becomes a hunting beast who worships The Prototype.

He's not Theo in this version, he's his own thing.

He's sadistic and enjoys the hunt in his more beastly form.

However... he isn't heartless... as in this concept he cares for you a lot.

Let's use this concept just to discuss his overall behavior like I did in the last one.

CatNap's plush/cartoon form still manages to get up to just about the waist of an adult on two legs.

Although the cat also likes to roam on four legs.

CatNap has a lavender smell in his fur, a scent known to calm and put others to sleep.

Although... that isn't exactly what he uses to put you to sleep.

Like in canon, CatNap has the ability to release Poppy Gas from his lungs.

Said gas creates hallucinations and even puts the target asleep.

CatNap likes it when his best friend sleeps....

So, the purple cat often likes to crawl on your lap, release some of the gas, and puts you to sleep as he nuzzles into you with a purr.

Yes, I feel I want to make CatNap purr in my version.

CatNap likes to wrap his long tail around you and follows you around loyally.

He wants to make you happy, healthy, and full of energy!

The only way to do that is a good night's sleep, right?

So let him help you.

CatNap definitely also uses his lavender scent to calm you, too.

He just wants his friend to hold him and sleep...

He'll watch over you like a good friend should.

Then there's the monster form.

He's still very dedicated to you, even when he roams the area like a stalking cat.

CatNap watches over you like a hawk, a caretaker at heart.

In his larger form he looks more unnerving, crawling on all fours like huge hunting cat.

He carefully stalks prey (and you) in the shadows, disorienting them with Poppy Gas before striking.

Unlike DogDay he doesn't bother hiding his predatory nature.

He doesn't care if blood or bits of flesh stain his purple fur when he eats.

His lavender scent still lingers despite the dirty blood smell when he's near you.

The large cat often tries to curl around you in his larger form, purring softly as he encourages you to sleep.

If you try to leave his long tail prevents it... he'll even give you Poppy Gas if you still struggle.

If you think about it... CatNap would be very similar to Moon from FNAF... except CatNap is more... religious?

Speaking of that, CatNap may view you as a gift from The Prototype.

His god has rewarded him for his loyalty!

He'll cherish you as his Best Friend....

CatNap would not hurt you as he views you as his gift and Best Friend.

He often swaps between his smaller cartoon/plush form and his monster form.

If he isn't on a hunt and doesn't want to scare you... he'll swap to his more docile form and encourage you to hold him.

Admittedly... his purr and lavender scent is enough to make you want to sleep anyways.

CatNap is mostly sadistic towards others, like DogDay and the other Critters if they were still alive somehow.

CatNap is possessive of his newfound pal.

He growls and hisses when you try to leave or if you mention any other Toy Mascot.

Even if you did escape, CatNap is hot on your tail, stalking you from the shadows.

Next thing you know the room you're in fills with red mist... you start to hallucinate... the last thing you see before you collapse is the monstrous form of a predatory cat.

Then you wake up back where you once were... with a purple plush cat wrapped in your arms purring away.

It looks like you aren't leaving the claws of CatNap after all....

Their core personalities and backgrounds stay the same, it's mostly a role switch

Niffty <--> Husker

Angel Dust <--> Vaggie

Alastor <--> Charlie

These r edits bc I was just figuring out their designs for the AU, I'll draw them normally another time (Husker isn't here cuz I can't find a good png of the mf)

In this AU Alastor started the hotel mostly because he randomly thought up the idea once and thought, "that's fucking hilarious, I'm doing that" + a secondary sentimental reason he'd kill me for saying (he got genuinely fully invested in the cause eventually)

He advertised it on his radio show suddenly out of the blue after 7 and a half years of radio (lol) silence. Alastor still owns Husker's and Niffty's souls but they're also obviously friends (or atleast close to it)

Also he can read tarot bc why not :3

Charlie is closer to her dad in this AU and more sheltered, adopting a more aloof, smug, and dangerous persona so sinners take her seriously, she also has a very slight condescending outlook towards sinners but she's at her core still compassionate and still views them as her people and want to protect them to a certain extent, and she still thinks the Exterminations are unnecessary and cruel, but she doesn't feel like she can do much about it since according to Lucifer's stories and discouragement, she knows heaven likely wouldn't listen much if at all, but when she heard of Alastor's little project it resparked hope in her and she decided to invest in it, becoming co-owner and funder for the hotel.

Angel Dust/Anthony never made a deal with Valentino and actually stayed in his family's crime/mafia business for the 1st half of him being in Hell, but his dad is a POS and kicked him out for being gay so he started doing s3x work, and then he met Alastor after he brutalized his harassers one day, and Angel wanted to repay the favor somehow. Alastor seems interested in him so they struck a deal (not a soul deal, just a simple deal) which has Angel/Anthony is under Alastors protection in exchange for Angel/Anthony's loyalty and assistance when needed (which is a rare case so Angel still feels like he owes Alastor). They grow friendly with time, and Alastor offers to have him be patient zero for his redemption project, and he accepted.

Vaggie/Vi is still a fallen exterminstor and still met Charlie the same way she did in the show, but after that they went their separate ways and Vi finds herself making a deal with Velvette. Instead of being a pornstar like Angel in the show, she is an influencer and a rockstar/singer, she does enjoy making music and playing the guitar but Velvette tends to overwork her and make her do things she doesn't really like for views/popularity. Velvette is the nicest to Vi/Vaggie compared to with her other employees (which isn't a very highly set bar tbh) but she also frequently break her boundaries.

Vi met Charlie again during one of her concerts and they got close and started dating. (Also one sided Velvette x Vaggie is sort of slightly maybe canon in this AU bc toxic Yuri is fun (and it's only fully one sided after Charlie and Vaggie/Vi started dating))

She helps manage the hotel when needed, but is honestly only there cause Charlie is.

Not much about Niffty changes tbh (she's perfect the way she is, utterly unhinged 😍) she's just a bit more mellowed out and less hyper (she's still hyper just not all the time like in the show) and she's also a bartender and has surprisingly good taste for alcohol, and also frequently makes borderline poisonous drinks while experimenting, but when she gets it right it's really good. Doesn't stop the others of being terrified of her drinks though

Husker is a more smiley and charming in this AU, using a laid back attitude to put people at ease and more willing to open up to him if they need to (he used to use the information people share as blackmail when he needs to back when he was an Overlord, although he never actually needs to spread anything, just threats), and he's still very observant but he's also slightly more unhinged- He's a sort of butler/cleaner for the hotel

He still gets grumpy time to time, but mostly when he's drunk, which isn't as often anymore ever since Niffty was put in charge of the bar (understandably so)

He has a bit of an anger issue and also gets annoyed easily, and sometimes makes unhinged threats as a sort of joke (they stop being much of a joke once you genuinely piss him off)

He likes things clean and tidy because it helps him pretend to be put together

He and Alastor are a bit friendlier compared to in the show, hes still one of the few people that knows more about Alastor, though hes still bummed about the whole being owned by Alastor thing (Husker can also read tarot to a lesser extent bc Al taught him for funzies and Husker thought it's interesting)

His gambling addiction is also ever so slightly worse

Ok, hear me out-

Hoo AU where Gaia doesn't wake up but Hera, in a fit of rage (she's an olympian, she's usually angry about something or the other), swaps Percy and Jason and releases a bunch of the giants and monsters from the underworld. This means most of the first two books goes exactly the same way.

Except, when Leo fires on camp Jupiter, instead of the seven hopping on the Argo II and flying off to save the world, they have to stay because the whole point was to unite the two camps. So Rome doesn't go in pursuit, but all the Greek demigods are taken hostage, including Percy because everyone thinks he betrayed them.

Now, Reyna's grappling with her loyalty to Rome and her gut instincts that the Greeks are telling the truth. Jason's beginning to realise that not only is he not quite Roman anymore, he's fallen in love with a Greek (in my head this is Leo but if you prefer a different ship, you do you). Frank and Hazel are doing their best to help the Greeks without getting imprisoned themselves. Percy and Annabeth are trying to earn back the Romans' trust since they're the only ones who are allowed to negotiate. Leo and Piper are desperately forming escape plans for if the worst happens, while realising that the Romans can be pretty cool when they're not actively trying to kill them. Also, Grover is there because i say so and he basically unionises the fauns lmao.

Brainstorming Bad Kids and Rat Grinders swap au. Definitely not perfect butttt

Gorgug: A kid relentlessly bullied till he becomes nothing but a ball of sizzling rage. Porter bullies him as well to “toughen him up.” He’ll make the perfect barbarian out of him. Less emo and more metal. Chose rage rather than letting himself be belittled, walked over, and forgotten.

Fig: In lieu of a proper father figure, Fig has latched onto Porter. A bard and a paladin, signing her loyalty to Porter as “the first person to give a shit about her.” Chose rage as an act of rebellion and her new identity after her horns grew in.

Adaine: Every evil team needs someone who can see the future to avoid their faults. Neglected and looking to one up all her sister has done. Bitchy like canon but it’s worse because she’s still a prep. Her and Fabian fund so much of the team’s plans. Chose rage because she wanted to choose something for herself, not what her parents order.

Fabian: Ego is his biggest fault. Wants to be great sooooo bad. Why not help a teacher become a god if it gives you fame? Chose rage so as not to die in the shadow of his father’s legacy.

Kristin: Her lack of faith in Helio made her a blank slate to become a Cleric of Ankarna. Is slowly weaned from the ideas of Ankarna’s original domain, to her corrupted domain, to Porter taking her domain. Is given the answer “If we conquer, then we can end suffering!” Chose rage after feeling abandoned by Helio.

Riz: The briefcase kid became the no talking kid. He has become disillusioned with the idea of justice and people caring for others. It’s every man for himself now. Sticks with Porter’s plan because he just wants his mom and him to be safe. Silent and deadly, possibly an Assassin Rogue. Chose rage because he couldn’t leave Sklonda by herself.

It’s all Whirred Up (NSBU Swap AU concept)

Essentially I started thinking about what it might be like if the action heroes were the ones in the real world, and the video world characters were the action heroes. I tried my best to switch things up so it feels different enough, although I’m still a little unsure about some character roles.

Will I ever actually sit down and write this properly? Who knows

In an old strip mall in Lake Elsinore sits one of the last remaining video rental stores in the country: Slater’s Video Superstore.

With the rise of streaming and digital media, however, the store is on its last legs. Its last week in fact, and its employees prepare to close down and find a new road to take in life.

Steven “King” Skin is a Princeton student with a bright future in politics. He’s nearing the end of his gap year, and wondering whether he really wants to go back to school after all. He works on the finances of the video store.

As he almost mindlessly balances the the store’s financial spreadsheets, he watches on one of the video store screens: Liv Skyler, master thief. Her name is whispered amongst criminal circles like a legend, because she can steal without even leaving a single trace behind.

Victor Ethanol is a young man with a dream of pursuing Formula 1 racing, but working several odd jobs to provide for his family. He does occasional maintanance/ plumbing work for the businesses in the strip mall, including the video store, which he visits frequently.

Trying to get him to take a break from working so hard, his brother Shaun asks if he wants to watch a movie. The movie’s protagonist? One Wendell Morris, former biker gang member who has become an informant for several underground organizations. He’s the black sheep of the Morris family, and their falling out is shrouded in mystery.

G13 is a young hacker who got caught attempting to access classified files, and was sentenced to community service. He’s supposed to be cleaning trash around the strip mall, but he mostly stays inside the video store using the crusty old public computer they have, since he’s no longer allowed to use any at home.

While attempting to bypass the many blocks on that ancient desktop computer, he sees a trailer for an old movie. It depicts Usha Rao, more commonly known by both her allies and enemies as Grandmother. She’s the head of a widespread criminal organization, and despite her sweet seeming appearance is someone to be feared. She’s been alive longer than anyone knows, she’s seen everything and knows everything, so if you mess with her family you cannot escape her wrath.

Working over by the more adult section of the store, is Jack Manhattan. After suffering through a grueling divorce with his wife and losing custody of his two children, his life is essentially at a standstill. He is very vocal about how much he prefers not being tied down, and talks about having many partners, but it’s clear that in reality he is not dealing with the separation well and is very lonely.

Unable to even look at the more unsavory content in front of him without thinking about the love he lost, he switches the channel only to see a movie starring crime investigator Paula Donvalson. While many overlook her based on her wild and sporadic personality, the crazy deductions she makes are more often than not entirely on the money, and the FBI begrudgingly hires her for many of their cases.

Jennifer Drips is a woman who does not stay in one place for far too long. Drifting quickly from town to town, she never sets up roots, but leaves a trail of lovers behind her. She is currently staying in a crappy apartment near Lake Elsinore, and working at the video store for some extra cash before she moves on.

On a screen behind her as she’s packing up the store’s inventory, plays a movie led by Russel Feelds, a mechanic developing gadgets for every organization under the sun. A self described lone wolf, he has no loyalty to any side, as long as you can pay his prices.

Greg Stocks is a wealthy man who owns nearly every storefront in the strip mall, except for the video store. He heads in every day attempting to make an offer that Slater will accept, but even as the store is close to shutting down, the video store owner remains stubborn.

Walking by the front of the store he sees, on one of the display TVs, a film about a man known only as Dang. Dang is the world’s deadliest assassin, and his methods are all just as strange as the man himself. After every kill he leaves behind his calling card, the word “rashab”. No one has deciphered its meaning yet.

Was having some role reversal thoughts on my twitt so I'm just gonna copy-paste them here as well

I like Decepticon Bumblebee AU's but I do think if you're going to do them you should have Soundwave switch to being an Autobot so that both sides still have rival spy/scout combos & also bc a roleswap between those two would be really cool to explore how the team dynamics change

Soundwave is a very formal person with a more 'mechanical' speech and doesn't usually take part in shenanigans BUT he's also a single parent of at least 4 casette children and this nuance opens up a world of really interesting ways that they can have a personal arc

On the flipside, Bumblebee is a much more fun-loving person who is always down for some shenanigans and would be the only con who isn't physically strong [with strength being something the cons usually value most above all else] BUT he's also a massive risktaker and very intelligent which would be really fun to see from an antagonist POV

Add to this, both Bumblebee and Soundwave are known for their intense ride-or-die loyalty to their respective bosses, and there is something very juicy about swapping who those loyalties are for and how that changes the boss-scout relationship

Is Optimus as close to Soundwave as he usually is with Bumblebee or are they strictly professional, and does Soundwave rat out the other bots for 'misconduct' or for questioning their leader? Does Bumblebee spy on the other cons for Megatron to weed them out like Soundwave would or is he more likely to keep some things a secret to uphold peace in that faction?

Just a lot of really cool ways it can be explored is all I'm saying

Jean Kirschtein Simp Post

I love Jean Kirschtein. He had me in the palm of his hand from the moment he challenged Eren for being a suicidal maniac (AND HE WAS RIGHT!!!), and when he debuted in s4, he was basically my husband.

Bless his s4 visuals because he didn't need to look this good, like damn.

Again, Jean calling out Eren for for constantly attempting suicide as well as being irresponsible in his fights got me from the get-go. I watched Eren be irresponsible and I watched everyone else applaud him for being courageous but I don't think they understood that Eren already had little to live for, so it wasn't courage. It was the only option. Eren was fearless for the most part. Jean telling him he's suicidal and irresponsible was refreshing, and it showed that Jean had a better head on his shoulders than most of their cohorts.

Actually, this plays into what Marco told Jean - that he'd would make a good leader. It's because Jean is aware of his surroundings and makes good use of it. Eren on the other hand, bites off more than he can chew then lets his friends clean up his mess. That's why they clash. Jean sees how things can be handled with the least amount of casualties, and Eren fights. And even then, Jean ends up growing up and moving past things with Eren till s4, when Eren becomes a problem again.

Additionally, I love the way Jean loves. Openly, honestly, wholeheartedly. Now, he's a smart man, so he knew not to mess with a girl clearly in love with someone else, but you could see how openly he'd loved Mikasa if they'd gotten together. Like he'd be giddy and happy all the time - because he has the girl he wants. Also, loyalty? Seven years after they met and he was still fantasising about her.

Also Jean can cook. That's just chef's kiss, no pun intended. I love me a man that can cook. And I know he, Connie and Sasha were swapping recipes over the years. They had a ball in the kitchen if Sasha didn't eat everything.

I say this in every post as well - but his friendships with Connie and Sasha humanised him. They matched his energy and took his ass down a peg or 10. They were the siblings he didn't have, but needed. Like you can't tell me he's just some vain/arrogant guy when he has the capability of having deep relationships with others like what he had with Connie and Sasha. I'll this again as well - Sasha never went a day not knowing that Jean and Connie had her back.

But yeah, seeing him go from this arrogant little teenage shit, to a capable man was a sight to behold. All his dreams were crushed and he changed course. He wanted to be best best, and he ended up being one of the best (can't beat Annie and Mikasa). His friend that hyped him up the most? Dead - titan vomit. The girl he loved? In love with someone else. Becoming military police? A waste of his skills in light of the real fight being with the titans. The high rise apartment? Probably still a possibility, but when do they actually live in their homes as soldiers? Jean had some of the best character development I've seen in fucking ages.

One of the things I resonated with the most was the fact that he kept fighting. He kept moving forward. Even when he'd cover his ears and fantasise about his high rise apartment in Wall Sheena with Mikasa and their child - he'd get up and deal with reality. Do you know how fucking hard that is? When you have a real and genuine fear of what life is, and you still get up to face it - that's true courage. That's something I'll admire till the day I die.

Now that we're done talking about his personality, let's talk looks because his s4 visuals were absolute fucking crack. I don't know what Isayama put into his visuals, but he did it right. Honestly everyone looked great but due to my attraction to Jean, he looked even better. The mullet he'd slick back? Just his looks in general? Absolute fucking crack, and I am just an addict. Jean is the full package. The full fucking package.

I have this headcanon (basically a modern au) that he likes expensive cologne and has a somewhat meticulous grooming routine. He cooks a lot, and it's like French restaurant quality, but he'll never forget his humble omurice roots. As an individual, he's cool and respectful, but it's always chaos with Connie and Sasha. He's a private person and excels in his dedicated career/job, and be he loves openly. He doesn't hide who he loves or that he loves them. Like, he's a person at the end of the day, but just a really cool one. Also he's responsible.

Anyway yeah, Jean Kirschtein is perfection incarnate and I stand by that.
