Hi, love. Wow. That really similar to so much of what we think has happened with Harry and Louis, as well as what we’ve heard from so many formerly closeted celebrities. It’s disgusting. Thank you so much for sharing and yes, come back and share anything else you remember!

Do you feel that majority of Louis’ fans believe that he is the dad?
I see mixed opinions, some think we, larries, are minority, some think ppl who believe the narrative just have louder voices. What I noticed on instagram that most of larrie accounts avoid this topic cause of the hate they get, and since Louis made larrie denials and praised his son, ppl who believe him they think Louis gave the green light to send hate towards larries.
And sensitive questions, do you think we larries are welcomed in this fandom by Louis (despite his larrie denials)? Does Louis need and want us to stay?
Hi, anon! Sorry, it took forever to answer this! But I wanted to address this one ask before stepping back from the topic for a while. (thank you to everyone who always sends me asks and discussions about babygate for understanding!)
IMO it’s both. I do believe the majority think Louis is Freddie’s biological father, and I also think this majority is unbelievably louder than us. You made some great points that I agree with. I think those of us who question the narrative are often 1) older fans who are more tired of the day-to-day interactions and follow-ups, and 2) somewhat silenced because of the overwhelming hate we receive. So I assume this topic is probably avoided or only discussed privately in group chats, anonymous accounts, or places like tumblr, where we can stay in our bubble more easily. That’s why the other side is so much louder. I do think there are still a lot of us who don’t believe the narrative, but it's nothing compared to when this all started. Back then, it felt like no one believed it. Over the years, Louis has done a lot to rebrand and embed the idea into fans’ minds that Freddie is his carbon copy and that he’s a devoted father. I think these are the two key pillars that make people not only believe he’s Freddie’s father but also become deeply attached to their relationship, especially since it’s been so publicly shared.
They went from something super shady and avoided to placing it front and center, making the father-son dynamic likeable and even endearing to A LOT of fans. That’s why I think the majority now believe it… honestly, being a father has become a huge part of Louis’ persona, and it’s something his fans love. If you look at comments and stuff like that, people are obsessed with him and Freddie, especially after the documentary. It’s crazy how it changed.
As for your second question, ugh… I’m honestly not sure. I do go back and forth on it a lot. It feels very hypocritical of him to act like he doesn’t want us here after all the fan service and encouragement he gave us regarding babygate and larry discussions. Especially since a huge part of his fanbase seems to be accepting very accepting of larry. It feels like a betrayal every time he encourages the hate toward us, an awful look on him.

Can I have a bit of a whinge? I feel like younger Louis used to be a lot more open-minded and less preoccupied with looking cool. At least publicly. Now he is so concerned with how he comes across and can be a bit of a snob. This isn't just about the wmyb quote, that's just what prompted this message. Anyway, I know it sort of comes with the territory of the genre of music he's doing but I feel like aren't you supposed to give less fucks as you get older and not get more concerned with perception?
I totally hear you. For someone who wants to reassure everyone he doesn’t give a fuck about what people think of him (let’s tattoo an anarchy symbol on the middle finger because you’re so bad ass), Louis does lash out in ways that make you think, he cares too much.
I understand he wants to get rid of his soft boyband image in order to be taken seriously in the alternative rock world but the only people who listen to him say these things are his fans who are mostly (and obvs there are people who are very dismissive about his 1D days) in love with the entire journey and not just the recent 2000s rock/black&red tinted visuals and stoner image.
However, we don’t know what he had to face BTS, what people have put in his way before he was able to put out WALLS, it took him years to find solid ground to put out that album, how people he probably looks up to and wants to impress have treated him because of WMYB, how he was mocked for years with no real outlet to prove he is more than what Simon Cowell dressed him in and the hair crimes Lou Teasdale has committed.
Do I think he could handle his anger more eloquently, could think his answers more through, be more humble at times? Absolutely. (And more often than not he does.)
But do I also see that there’s more that meets the eye and not everything Louis says or does is an act against us or our beliefs? Yes! It’s as always, a little bit more complex.
In reference to this.

🎬‼️AOTV Spoilers‼️ babygate free version
OK, I’m going to try organizing my scrambled ADHD brain thoughts on AOTV as several others have done here.
First off, let’s talk about the One Direction nostalgia… FUCK. That killed me. I know it sounds fucking dramatic, but for so many of us having Zayn leave, babygate, and then the break back-to-back was just like blow after blow. I honestly felt some weird kind of grief response as I watching, my heart just broke for Louis and for all of us over again. I realized how NOT over them breaking up I am, but I also am happy it happened. I can’t imagine where they would all be if they were forced to continue down the path they were put on.
I appreciate how honest he was about his grief. We knew, but like, it was never said as clearly as it was in the film just how dark of a space he was in. Hearing about Jay, and everything she was to him again, just wow. What an incredible woman she was. Also Lottie saying they did all they could to help Fizzy but ultimately they failed, that was brutal. Bless them all, they are so strong.
I said this in a separate post, but I feel like those moments that they chose to show H were so so beautiful and important. Louis definitely picked a moment where H was just looking so perfectly feminine and beautiful and himself. Louis is nothing but proud of his person.
I found it hilarious that both Liam and Niall were in it, like fully spent time with him and filmed for this doc. I know they were playing at similar festivals, so it was convenient, but how blatant to have nothing with Harry post one direction, too obvi in my opinion haha.
There was a moment and god I wish I could remember it better, but he mentions how during his struggle with getting back on stage and his confidence, he says he feels like he’s two different people and he struggles to combine and reconcile those two parts of him. I think this was deliberate and obviously much much more layered than just what was shown and I can’t wait to watch that bit again.
Obviously so many good tour moments, except when they talk to fans. I also hate that shit and cringe and I don’t know why they talked to the people they did. The rainbows everywhere was hilarious, because it was clear how they are present EVERYWHERE, no matter which country they are in. If I was in the GP and didn’t know about Louis, I would be hella confused by that, especially because it is just *not mentioned*. I’m OK with that, if Louis really wanted to deny his sexuality again right there, he could have commented on being ONLY a straight ally to all of these queer fans, but chose not to. INCH-resting to say the least.
One thing I can say throughout the entire film is that I do feel like 90% of it is authentic and real and Louis. I feel like we’ve seen glimpses of him because of tour, but even then, he’s in full performance mode. So seeing so much footage of him in his personal and private spaces was wild, something we haven’t seen a long time. That alone was worth it for me to watch the movie and I’d watch it over and over again.

This is depressing Flávia 😭 thank you
lol sorry it was made to be funny.
the thing is I don’t get how people can read that article and actually believe that’s who louis is. one) it’s a printed interview, everything can be edited, distorted or taken out of context even if it has the approval of his team. and two) people love to think they are besties with louis when in reality we don’t really know anything about his private life, I’d say we get to see maybe 2% of his life and yet everything we see is made for us to see.
we can tell he is a good person by the way he acts around his fans, about how people always have good things to say about him, the way he is always taking smaller bands under his wings because he knows how hard and fucked up the music industry is.
I saw a tiktok totally unrelated to louis (it was about the beef between selena/haley/kylie) and the person was saying how maybe if you always have to come online to apologize for something you did and said, maybe there’s some truth to it and to people’s reaction to your behavior, and when you think about louis, he is not this person at all, I do believe he is a genuine good person who is just in a very unique situation.
Idk why that’s the way we are supposed to perceive him, maybe it’s to show he is the opposite of harry, maybe it’s to distance himself from the boyband image, maybe it’s to be accepted by the indie rock/indie pop/pop punk market, maybe it’s all of these things, but there’s so much more to louis than just smoking and drinking and partying. was he ever so drunk he wasn’t able to perform? no. was he ever so high he made some stupid comment or embarrassed himself in front of the cameras that he had to apologize for it? no. so stop putting this against louis and start acknowledging the good things we’ve actually seen him do, because thats who he is!!!! and if you are unhappy just leave!!!!

Sorry, I didn’t want to come off as rude. I just wanted to make sure I read your posts correctly because I have a hard time telling if something is sarcasm or if it’s meant for fun or if there’s context hidden between the lines and so on. I’ve misread people’s post as genuinely believing before when in reality they just shipped for fun or because the thought two people would be cute together.
Fair enough! Sarcasm is very hard to pick up on in written form that's for sure.
My space is 100% Larry - no shipping involved. I believe the guys are still closeted as they were in 1D and with stunts involved their situation is very complex.
I'm not waiting for the big Coming Out - that part of it is their business completely - I'm just here to support their art while spreading the word that binding human beings' images along with their art isn't right. There's still a huge number of people who have no idea about this part of the business and believe every word they read in the tabloids. I think it's time for a new look at PR strategies in the entertainment industry.

“Louis is a good person who does the best he can out of a shit situation. But he's also human and make mistakes out of ignorance. Either you accept his situation and know he's far from who he portrays himself to be, or you take everything at face value and realise that he's not worth stanning. I don't see an in between here. Either you get it or you don’t.”
hello marte, I think you are one of the few larries who thinks Louis is innocent" in this. I see many blogs that are really angry with him and I think they don't even trust what he says anymore, in my opinion I think Louis is sabotaging himself and I don't know why, I know he's still trapped in this but I don't understand why he continues to treat larries that way, most of them look disappointed and fed up with everything. I don't think they leave Larry but they look disappointed and tired, I would also get tired but I support Louis too much to leave him alone. I want to see what happens and what all this leads us to, but I think that what happened was more of the same but I still saw that if it damaged the relationship between Larries and Louis :( and it's very sad.
sorry if my english is bad :(
Hi, anon!
I don't think Louis is completly innocent in this, because i do think he's got some agency and say in what happens. It's just that his options are bad. He's dealt a shit hand. But i also think he could do more to better his own situation and endear himself to fans. Or at least do things differently. For example there was no excuse for how badly Louis and his team handled the Asia tour cancellation, the moving venue in Indonesia, and the whole Red Rocks situation. That's all on him and his management.
You shouldn't trust what Louis says ever. Why would you, he's been caught in lies for over a decade. If people haven't noticed the difference between the persona behind the twitter account and the real Louis, both in temper, kindness, appreciation of his lgbtqai+ fans and stance on larry, then they should open their eyes. His social media accounts are mouthpieces that's used to deny larry and prove he's a straight man and a lad.
I think your first cut is the deepest. If this is the first time you've experienced Louis like this, then i get that people are disappointed, angry and upset. It's far from the first time it's happened and it won't be the last. Either it makes people leave or it makes people stay. Some people stay for a while and then get fed up. A little event could be their last straw. Others like me have seen him much worse and have learned to live with it. It's not shocking, but expected behaviour at this point. It wont stop until it's all over and the gig is up.
Louis is a good person who does the best he can out of a shit situation. But he's also human and make mistakes out of ignorance. Either you accept his situation and know he's far from who he portrays himself to be, or you take everything at face value and realise that he's not worth stanning. I don't see an in between here. Either you get it or you don’t.

I had taken seven thousand souls by then. But Lestat was the only one that felt like murder. Semantics, surely, but it's how I felt. He came by invitation. My distraction from the monochromatic landscape. The gray of an obliterated road, the gray-brown of a charred and bullet-ridden city.

I think it all comes back to their curated public images built since day one, you know? So some fans have this misconstrued idea that Harry is a star, a bourgeois, heartthrob who have it easy and more recently due his distancing from social media (totally understandable), unreachable and money/charts/hits driven. While Louis is still the humble working class guy, underdog who "made it" and is still very grounded, very attached to his roots. So sometimes unconsciously, and for lack of critical thinking, fans will attack H for something they think just reinforces and confirms this public persona, kind of already expecting it. At the same time embrace Louis cause feel he's more like "one of us". Almost as if Louis would HAD to go back to work (after Liam) to make ends meet and Harry hadn't.
This is really absurd cause 3 minutes of reflection make one realize Harry does not come from a super rich family, likes to walk around in the streets and talk to people, hangs out around flee markets and frequently repeats his daily clothes. Louis IS a millionaire, drinks, eats and wears expensive stuff and probably could afford a very comfortable life without having to ever work again. Just to mention a few of their complexities.
Sometimes is just people who hadn't their brains fully developed yet Gina 🤣 but I would also like to blame simon cowell once again for everything that's wrong with the world.
You’ve taken the words out of my mouth, love. This is the crux of it.

Hey there! I was wondering what your thoughts are on the boys public image going forward into the future. Louis public image has obviously changed a lot, at least in my opinion with from beginning of 1D, to bad boy Louis, uninvolved father to father of the year. Harry more open in recent years but still the model dating womanizer, one year relationship guy. Do we think Harry continues that way? Or as he gets older will there be a push for him to “settle down” as well or just continue like this?
Oh, but that’s so hard to predict, anon. It really depends on their professional goals and what they want moving forward. Maybe what we can discuss is what the fanbase wants from them and how other artists are shaping their PR strategies.
This might seem unrelated, but I’m very into trend forecasting and study it a lot for marketing strategies in my job. So we can easily draw parallels between brands and artists in the entertainment industry. Right now, there’s a huge desire for authenticity, truth, and honesty—mostly driven by issues like mental health, social media, and politics. Basically, people just want to connect with others who share their beliefs and who can genuinely represent them on a deeper level. So, any kind of interaction or action that feels insincere, surface-level, or disconnected from the public tends to be dismissed and forgotten. Which is what I assume most artists are focusing on currently.
With that in mind, I think Louis has really found a way to connect with his fans by leaning into his "Father of the Year" persona and going back to his roots in this new era. I’ve touched on this before, but I think it was a significant rebrand. Making his family and backstory central to his public persona helps fans feel like they truly know him, not just "stage Louis." His album and tour were very successful, and I think he’s in a great place right now. IMO this is the path he’ll stick to for the next few years, at least.
As for Harry, I’m going to guess he’s probably recalibrating right now?! At least, I hope he is! He’s a mainstream artist, and his public image needs to be managed on a bigger scale. The whole Holivia situation and the Grammys put him in a bit of hot waters, and his public image wasn’t at its best during that time. So, I expect some rebranding and new strategies (hopefully) for HS4. People aren’t really buying the old PR relationships and "fuck boy" image that Harry has leaned on since his 1D days. It used to generate a lot of attention and fuel female fantasies, but it’s not being received the same way anymore. He came dangerously close to being seriously canceled with Holivia. So, I think he needs to pivot in a different direction, I assume a lot of artists with similar strategies as him are also in a similar situation and this concern has been a discussion in his fanbase for a while now. It’s tricky because being a womanizer has always been part of his public persona and used to his advantage for promo. Honestly, I don’t think he’ll completely drop that (maybe ever) because there’s still some appeal to it, but being too mysterious or ambiguous about certain things has an expiration date. Rumors and controversy sell, but they can also get you canceled—it’s a pretty dangerous line to walk these days. So, I think he’ll need to start balancing things out carefully.

i’ve never seen a bad and nasty recipe from people about H&L behavior, not even a fake one. we love and stan the right celebs don’t we!
This!
The TPWK brand stems from an honest place of gratitude and kindness. People who worked with Harry all swoon over him and I love it so much for him.
And with Louis it’s even more fascinating because he’s much more closed off and I can imagine he doesn’t let many people in and he’s got such a close-knit circle. (which Harry does too.) But those who are part of it, are the nicest and most down to earth people who praise the floor Louis walks on. It really reflects well on Louis. And people who worked with him all get starry-eyed. No bad word about him ever.
They prove that one can be successful in the entertainment industry without becoming an ass or creating a toxic work environment. They deserve the world!
