I was thinking that maybe the chore jacket is a wordplay on its official French name "Bleu de Travail" freely translated Works Blue aka Louis is working/stunting right now.

The funny thing is, @apparentlybychance just sent me this info right when this message came in (insomnia comes in handy sometimes).

I wonder if Bill Cunningham was riding a Lime (joking. I know he wasn’t. He was riding a Schwinn if anyone cares).

Bill Cunningham was a highly respected photographer (one of the fashion industry’s favorites). In 2010 there was a documentary made about him. He passed away in 2016.

I haven’t seen the doc, but this comment was interesting.

He also had this to say:

“[…] fashion, ah, you know, in point of fact it's the armor to survive the reality of everyday life.”

So, I don’t know if we’re on the right track (and thank you, Jen for being equally as curious).

Maybe he’s showing us he’s working (doing chores)

Maybe it’s a nod to Louis working/stunting.

Maybe it’s a nod to Bill Cunningham.

Maybe he just really loves that jacket.

Louis wore Aime Leon Dore to perform and to greet fans tonight, the 1 year anniversaryof FITF release. Though the brand is named after a version of 'love' plus the owner's father's name and part of his own, it DOES translate to something like Loved Gold Lion.

A post came across my twitter dashboard recently, referencing Harry's LOT outfit from July 16, 2022 in Vienna, and how it should have meant something but in the end meant nothing.

But did it really mean nothing? I was curious.

When I first relistened to Harry's self-titled for the first time since 2017 (yes, I am one of those people who left in 2015 and recently got pulled back in because of Liam's passing) "Kiwi" became my favorite on the album. And right away, it becomes obvious that this song is absolutely about things that happened during his time in the band - but what events, right?

So I started digging, and came across some really great analysis and theories. Truly, this fandom continues to amaze me every single day. The loud reference to Babygate is easy - Harry basically made that association for us by playing "Kiwi" 3x at the end of the last Live on Tour show on July 14, 2018, on the 3rd Anniversary of The Sun's One Conception exclusive. But the Babygate anniversary was two days earlier, and Harry didn't have a show. And he didn't wear the shirt on the 15th when he did have a show.

So why July 16th?

In coming back to this fandom, I started diving into the Great Big Larry Document of Everything. And I began to look at the date itself - there had to be something tied to this date - not a "close enough" but this actual date. If this outfit meant something we were supposed to watch out for, it was tied to this date.

Eleanor's birthday is July 16th. And in 2022, Elounor 2.0 was still happening. In my searching I discovered that Eleanor spent her birthday that year in Ibiza while Louis, as it turns out, was in Manila for LTWT. On the other side of the world.

But Manila, huh?

I remember Manila.

Manila is the show where, on March 22, 2015 1D performed "I Will Survive" after the Elounor 1.0 BUA dropped. Harry almost screaming the lyrics in happiness, Louis walking around on stage with a huge smile on his face. Oh, that day was a good day.

And in looking back at the dates and events that happened afterwards (because the checkerboard would indicate the end was soon), sure enough, six months later the Elounor 2.0 dropped on January 6, 2023. Almost exactly ten years to the day after the Haylor BUA dropped, in fact, which is one of the funniest coincidences in a fandom full of funny coincidences.

Because here's the thing - I don't think "Kiwi" has ever been about just Babygate. I think it's also about Cakegate (which the music video kinda solidified for me). It's about stunts, and the public's fascination with what women the boys are linked to. And perhaps also about the heterosexual image they maintain by participating in said stunts.

To wrap this all up, I don't think every outfit the boys wear means something - but I absolutely do think this one on July 16, 2022 was on purpose.

To be honest I’m very surprised people were not more overwhelmed by the bluegreen/finish line/alligator pants. It was a very BIG acknowledgment for part if his fanbase right? Pretty loud

Yeah, it was great 😂😂 I had a good laugh when I first saw he managed to find those trousers in the first place I mean, how is that even possible LOL but I actually didn’t go to twitter to check how the reaction was over there. I guess here on tumblr people are just slowing moving on and understanding things changed a lot, the way he and Harry communicate is not the same as it was before. People are drained from all the stuff that happened in the last couple of years and these sorts of things now (although they’re fun) just feel a bit confusing. Personally I can’t bring myself to care too much about it and honestly feel a little gaslighted. But I’m happy Louis had fun with it, we definitely had our moment as well!! But I’m not going to fool myself into thinking it’s something deeper or anything but simply an acknowledgement.

Hi Gina. Do you have thoughts on why Harry is wearing nearly the exact same outfit since February? Has he done this before, can you remember?

That jacket is expensive but owes him nothing at this stage!

The thing is, he actually has two of them. One appears to be vintage, the other is new.

But it really does seem odd.

In the past he wore this Randy’s Donuts sweatshirt repeatedly. He stopped right after we figured out the connection to Louis. The Playdium jacket was worn very often throughout holivia and hussell, and we came to call it his “stunt jacket.”

He does get attached to certain Itai’s if clothing and he’ll repeat them often (his Rolling Stones shirt, for example. Or his beloved Chelsea boots). But I can’t think of anything he’s literally worn every single day for weeks.

The only thing I’ve come up with so far is that the style is a “chore coat” (like a precursor to the Carhartt jacket). Being that, I’m gonna need Harry to pop into my inbox and give me a hint because I’m stumped.

So, this has come across my dash a few times this morning but it’s your tags on this post that make me want to call attention to the look on Harry’s face in the second photo.

It’s the same look he got on his face when he was on tour and said “the hiddies are out.”

He knows that we know that he knows that we know.

And it’s written all over his face in that second photo.
