Twelve of them took part in the eating, body as communion, recreation of religion which we’ve been waiting for as a theme and the show runners have heavily discussed (burning of a body as standard ritual sacrifice), shauna/lottie/tai prophets with different reactions to their prophecy which is also common in early religious accounts, travis and van early believers and proselytizers, Laura Lee angel perhaps??, if game comes shortly after Jackie’s burning (which is a long standing theory from a lot of people and one I tend to believe—that they eat one girl but the rest are sacrificial to bring game and other prosper etc), the necklace as idolatry almost?, an Abraham Isaac moment I’ve ALSO been waiting for (as have others, aka shauna killing that baby or showing a willingness to kill that baby For Jackie), SHAUNA’S JOURNALS AS HOLY TEXT HI??? Like it DOES make sense that after abruptly doing this taboo and horrific thing they would NEED to believe that Jackie Truly Did That For Them to cope. It would make sense as an opening point for a new religion—followers desperate for not only survival and sense-making but salvation. Who better to grant you salvation than the girl you transgressed??

(I talked a big talk about boring and predictable as my initial impression and it’s very possible it stays that way, but if they make Jackie Taylor a fucking god I’ll gladly eat those words because that’s some fucking genius.)

13. What’s one random headcanon about your muse that people mightn’t know?

i'm partially blaming aven for this one bc a conversation of ours prompted me to think of it but: vautrin is actually very good with his hands, in the sense that he knows a number of practical skills - such as DIY, sewing, cooking, etc. all of this is self-taught, too, as he had to learn to do many things when he left home as a teenager. going from a fairly well off family where they probably had staff to cook, clean, etc, to a tiny little apartment with no furniture and no staff forced him to learn quickly how to do all sorts of things for himself.

need some furniture built? he's on it. need to fix a leaky pipe? he'll handle it. hand him a recipe and he'll cook / bake it. give him needle and thread and he'll fix that tear in your favourite coat.

18. Are there any AU’s you’d like to explore but haven’t had the chance to yet?

i was about to say i can't immediately think of any, but then remember i've had an AU for m.enogias sat in his verses since basically day one of adding him here that i've still not actually explored

and i gotta be honest, i'm probably not going to get to, bc i'm 99.9% sure the theory it's based on is going to die its final death during this version of the game (listen i never actually believed it but i thought it was a cool idea). i just can't see it working once we find out more about a certain harbinger-

although. thinking about it now i would also like to explore, potentially, an AU where t.homa never left m.ondstadt. as much as i'd hate to lose his dynamic with the k.amisato siblings, i think it'd be cool to explore what he'd turn out like if he grew up with his old friends instead

the way yellowjackets maintains ambiguity by crafting a world where some sketchy/spooky things are legit just a coincidence and entirely explainable and then some things are absolutely fuckin not is so good

i get why it drives some people nuts (if everything is coincidence or nothing is coincidence, there is a simple answer to everything either way and you don’t have to keep asking yourself which is which) but living in the same forever uncertainty as the characters is thematically resonant + a neat little narrative trick to force the audience into the same headspace while watching
