Flickers of his breath graze Yukio’s ear, soft as wisps of flame over kindling. 

He knows Shima can’t have fully grasped what this message means. No. Of course, he hasn’t. Shima may have been tasked to pass this secret along, but he wouldn’t say it in this way if he knew more. 

Regardless, it’s too late. The idea is irrevocable, swaying just beyond the corners of Yukio’s vision. He’s already enthralled by it, so much that there’s no decision to be made. 

“Now I’ve told you, so do what you want with it.” Shima raises a finger to his lips and winks as he walks away. 

“Which side are you on?” It’s a futile question, yet he’s asked it twice now. He doesn’t even know what answer he cares for. 

Shima laughs. “Who knows?” When he turns back, the mirth in his voice doesn’t reflect in his eyes. “Which side are you on?” 

Those words fall from his tongue one by one like scattering dice. As he leaves, their echo swells in the empty hallway, spoken as if they were particularly clever. 

Yukio’s lip curls when he catches sight of his own silhouette in the tall row of windows beside him. He’s cold and sheer. Do his motives appear as simple to see through?

“Of course,” he says, “you of all people wouldn’t be fooled so easily.” 

Perhaps it doesn’t matter. Shima won’t be enough to stop him, and it’s clear he has no intentions to do so in the first place. 

The soft hum of warm air vents switches on when he steps near the windows. It’s never completely silent here. Blinking specks of red lights line the ship’s massive steel wings. In spite of the darkness, no stars are visible. All he can see are layered clouds in the distance. 

This fortress is undeniably impressive from a technological perspective. It’s clear it was designed with both comfort and safety in mind. He hadn’t expected that after seeing their lab in Shimane. 

Yukio turns away and strides down the hallway with measured, even steps. 

He’s been given a weapon. All that’s left is to weigh how best to use it.

While rewatching ducktales, I realised that they looove foreshadowing, they do it all the time, sometimes they even give the whole plot of an episode in the very first scenes without the viewer noticing lol.

Anyway, I realised that they foreshadowed the whole “duke of making a mess” thing that Huey had in the sword of swanstantine episode!

THE THING IS, EVEN on my first watch, I could tell that this was supposed to be a multiple episode arc but they HAD to make it shorter because ducktales was getting cancelled and I’m PISSED. LIKE ALL OF MY FAVOURITE CARTOONS, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE.

DEWEY had his own arc where he’s trying to uncover his mom’s dissaperance with Webby. LOUIE had his own arc where he was struggling with his place in the family and HUEY. DIDN’T.

Ughhh they foreshadowed the Duke of making a mess in the intern episode and even in Scrooge’s birthday!!

Those are BOTH season 1 episodes (I’m not gonna list more foreshadowing because you get my point) SO THEY’VE BEEN BUILDING UP THIS ARC SINCE THE BEGINNING AND THEY DIDNT GET TO CASH IT INNNNN RAHHHHHH 🗣️‼️‼️‼️‼️

When watching the ONE episode where he appears, you could IMMEDIATELY tell that it should’ve been a bigger deal. I mean come onnnn, they enter Huey’s mind scape and there’s a huge closed up door??? With locks??? DUUUDE THAT WOULD’VE BEEN AWESOMMMMEEE

I’m saying all of this but this is just to vent some frustration about how animation shows will just be cancelled without the chance to say all that they’ve wanted to say… and as the one who wants to hear it: *cries and wails and pees on the floor*

Ducktales was planning so many more seasons and only got 3, like every other great animation show nowadays i fear

I mean there's a chance Rhaenyra asked him to do it on purpose to send a message to the Greens, but, like... look at Ulf in those scenes and tell me that man actually knows what he is doing yet. You can't. He probably climbed into that saddle to make this whole "the dragon's not eating me" thing official, and also because what else is he gonna do he's stuck in a pit with her, and Silverwing was like oh okay let's go flying! I love the idea of River crushing on Louisa next season actually.

First things first: Louisa is pulling away from the kiss. Like- I feel like that, combined with the fact that she rejected River earlier this season, is a sign that she’s probably not interested in anything beyond platonic with River ? I don’t know why people are freaking out so much over this scene ??

Despite this, I do think that River liking her has some genuine potential:

Maybe he’s just such a hot mess after going through, let’s be honest, the world’s longest fucking trauma conga line that he confuses his own feelings of trust and appreciation as romantic attraction, leading to the most awkward kiss of all time. This could be a really nice way to explore the value of their relationship as well as solidify their friendship

Ooooor alternatively: River is actually down bad. Like- c’mon! Louisa is literally the person he trusts the most (judging by the fact that he called her when he was with Harkness). They’ve been through tons of shit together, she saved his life and she’s Louisa fucking Guy!! (And frankly out of his league imo). I wouldn’t blame the guy if he actually fell for her.

I get it! I’m also tired of romance being ‘forced’ on male-female friendships, but romantic attraction can be interesting! It can bring out new sides of characters, it can make friendships more complex, it can lead to new and interesting plot lines, etc

I think no matter what happens (and I honestly think it’s just a spoof and not a real kiss), I trust that the writers know what they’re doing and that it’ll be done in a way that does both the characters justice.

(…but also it’s weird how many people are ‘grossed out’ at the idea that River might kiss Louisa idk)

Time for my usual run down of the season , didn’t do it how I usually do because honestly I had not very nice things to say about the first 5 episodes 💀

Dr s2 pt2 spoielrs ahead

- jay? Jay!?! JAY!? Hello what was THAT- IT Was a COP out honestly, all the hype and build up for a shit ass reveal and a boring fight between him and nya, only for him to LEAVE 5 minutes later. I wanted more of him being evil, it was so rushed and just usless. Like they could have just made nya find him or something, he didn’t have to be evil, Because they did literally NOTHING with it. I know they probably realise they need a whole season to build up to jay but maybe if they didn’t focus on Lloyd all the time they could??

-It was nice to see some old characters again, like tox and Mr pale! Finally some old rep 😭 I just wish they we’re actually utilised properly. I didn’t want just cameos I wanted actual character arcs or something. I know I’m asking for a lot and “should be greatful to even get to see them” but s4 showed all the old elemental master so well, and they all at least got a little moment to shine even if just for one fight, then they added to that with season 9. It just felt like a *here’s your old characters now shut up*

-People may think I’m being too picky with this, but the random panning to Geo and other characters with jayas fight TOOK ME OUT!? Like we just had this super emotional revels and now jay and nya gotta fight, oh okay we’re just gonna show a purple goblin mid scene ?? Like it just took me out the moment and was also so random. Like he doesn’t even know nya that well, why are we seeing his reaction more then the ninjas. Same for the audience. Like they don’t know these people WHY ARE THEY HERE

- wyldfyre and Roby! What can’t I say about them. Saved the season for me honestly. I like how wyldfyre actually got a break this season and got to be goofy and silly. We really saw more of her personality shine! Her being the comic relief was really refreshing to see. Plus her and Roby instantly hitting it off, just like Kailor did was such a cute nod to them. The fact that their just so sweet and full of puppy love, they couldn’t be more different then eachother but that isn’t mentioned ONCE (I like that) wyldfyre takes on all of Roby words, and him roaring for her to show he loves her too. I just adore how they take on eachother characteristics and embrace how their different. Plus the blatant flirting 😭🤚🏻 made giggle

- ERIN LOW KEY TURNING EVIL HELLO!? I was kinda expecting someone to turn on the ninja, honestly shocked it was Erin. Him and sora fighting broke my heart :( I can 100% understand his point of view, it’s been over a year since he met Lloyd and he’s still no closer to his parents. It does suck and I wish it was prioritised too, but Lloyd can’t help that all the danger they have been facing is world ending. Someone just needs to give him and hug. But I also think he needs to learn he can’t have everything in life. He wanted to be a ninja and he got that! I know he lots his parents but so did sora. I just think he needs a good hug and some support

- cole and zane we so pushed aside this season. I know they aren’t the main focus anymore, but for cole especially just doesn’t feel like a character anymore? He hasn’t since 13 honestly. I don’t think it helps that I’m still getting used to Andrew voicing him ( no fault of his own the writers won’t give him enough material to work with) so it genuinely feels like a new character to me. Plus his lack of interest in the ninja. Zane could have been used so much this season to analyse their opponents and help train sora, but they just cast him aside. Like hello he had an entire episode DEDICATED TO HIM BEING A DETECTIVE? Why didn’t they let him help Erin figure out the murders ( yes it was to do those flashbacks of his parents but that didn’t really add much)

- Kai coming back was so underwhelming, I honestly would have liked if they waited till next season to do that. We didn’t get a proper reunion of him and wyldfyre or nya :(

- ep 11-20 did not feel like a part 2, they felt like an entire different season. The separate parts really don’t merge well on my opinion. We’re following 2 completely different story lines and fighting 2 different villains. Their isn’t really an over arching storyline aside from Ras and his gang. Who don’t even turn out to be the main villains 💀 this part just felt like a re do of seaosn 4 but a lot more boring. I really couldn’t get into the story until at least episode 5. It was just way to repetitive with no real danger being shown.

I think that’s everything I wanna talk about for now, there’s others but they more small critiques or details I liked. Not my favourite season ( you can probably tell lol) definitely the worst of all 4 parts so far in my opinion. But I’m hoping season 3 is better since we hopefully have an actual evil ninja ( Erin) and jaya to look forward too

Anything specific you want to see in S4 now that they’ve announced it’s Benedict’s season?

Yes. I want montage of Pen and Colin fucking in-between whatever story shenanigans is going on. Benedict finds his soul mate at a masquerade ball? Polin fucking. Benedict finds out his love is of the lower class? More Polin fucking. Benedict tries to figure out his lot in life? Polin's just breaking all the furniture. Maybe they will get use out of that ikea table.

...Okay, I'm only half joking...

Fine, here's my more serious answer...

I really want Benedict to come to a place where he feels more grounded and less aimless. I hope he finds his love of art again, he does feel like he's the most creative Bridgerton, and why they kind of let go of that in Season 3, idk.

I hope that whoever his love interest is - is someone fun and someone we can all fall in love with, like we did with Kate or John. (We already loved Pen from the beginning - that was such a different thing.) And I hope they continue the diversity trend in whatever way that might entail.

I actually do want a Polin subplot - but I'm sure there's going to be fallout from the Lady Whistledown stuff. Honestly, and selfishly of me, I want Polin subplot for the rest of the series -- because it worked great for the first few seasons ;)

I want to see Francesca and Eloise in Scotland - a change of scenery would be nice. Plus, I get the feeling that we're going to see John get ill and die by the end of the season. Ten bucks says that the end of Season 4 sets up Francesca to lead Season 5.

I want more Kate and Anthony. LET KATE AND PENELOPE HAVE A FRIENDSHIP OR AT LEAST SOME SCREEN TIME - I DARE YOU NETFLIX/SHONDA/JESS WHOEVER.

Give me more ABC Brothers scenes, because I honestly love those to death. Plus, get Gregory more involved, he's getting there. (Really, I love all the sibling shenanigans in general, so I want more of all of it.)

I really like the show having a more light hearted feel. I'm sure it'll be different - because the show does try to change things up each season, and I do like that. But I don't really want to go back to the Season 1 heaviness. Let's continue going down the ridiculous and fun ballrooms and gowns fun that the show has been.

I really just want to be entertained. :)

MAWS S2E1 SPOILERS

I kinda like Krypton being a colonizing empire Viltrum-style. And Jor-El's very clear distaste for it ("like a disease"). And I'm sorry, the BRAINIAC SYSTEM??! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! That explains Brainiac being like "I will rebuild the Kryptonian empire!" Not sure if I like Brainiac being a Kryptonian program again but whatevs. He's a rare type of character where his species doesn't really matter, his whole shtick is just knowledge. I just personally prefer the green guy.

AND ALSO THE THREAT YOU COULDNT DEFEAT HAD VERY INTERESTING CURVING LAZERS THAT JUST ERASED FOLKS AND WE SAW THAT PARADEMON IN THE TRAILER HMMMMMMMMMMM

Kara seems to have been a baby when she was sent away, just like Clark. I'm not really sure if I like this or not yet cause I feel like there's a lot of untapped potential with the whole "older cousin but when she lands on Earth the baby is a full-grown man" thing that nothing ever really touches on. Also will that mean she aged while on the pod? Does she still have the brain of a baby or did she mature there too? Or is she gonna have been on Earth the whole time or something. Either way, I'm pretty hyped. I trust in their plan.

Clark calling Jor-El dad just to argue with him about Lois is really funny to me. That whole interaction from the "you brought your mate..." to "you too?!" was hilarious. Sad to see him go so soon.

Also man that is a weird Fortress of Solitude. Looks cool though.
