Hey guys so do we want to talk about how Lila’s entire thing is that she lies and yet the biggest lie this season isn’t coming from her... but from Marinette.

How Lila and Marinette match each other intellectually, which Marinette herself says while fighting Lila (‘unlike the other Hawkmoth you’re actually clever!’). How Marinette has always fought against Lila’s lies but is now perpetuating one herself that will probably turn out to be one of the most (unintentionally-don't attack my daughter) harmful ones in the show- and its to Adrien- one of the only people who didn't initially fall for Lila's lies.

How the thing- the lie that is going to break Adrien this season, that will guiltrip him over his final confrontation with his father, make him hate himself for not being there for the final battle, and make him feel the weight of a thousand revelations and implications and betrayal once revealed, comes not from the villain known for lying... but from Marinette.

There is something to be said about villains paralleling the hero, and BOY is this season going to be one of the most heartbreaking and craziest examples of it yet.

I NEED the episode of Adrien figuring out the secret (and all the implications that come with it) to be on some Gravity Falls ‘Not What He Seems” shit!!! His POV, dramatic lighting, crazy ass ramp up…. that shit better be an entire short film.

And while yes, ‘Not What He Seems’ might be a strange comparison because that was dropping a really big reveal on the audience as well as on the characters, I still think this needs just as much attention!!! To Adrien this is life shattering information that leads to so many other revelations- he was fighting his dad the whole time, his mom’s body was in the basement, he cataclysmed his father, Nathalie was probably Mayura, holy shit he was fighting his dad the whole time, his dad who was never a hero- who was a terrorist and really was selfishly neglecting him and ladybug lied about it and why the fuck did she lie about it?????

Bonus points if this is also the episode he figures out he’s a sentimonster!!!!!! Give me an insane episode of him FINALLY piecing it all together and possibly snapping and make it the best episode of the show PLEASE.

adrien looked so miserable, hugging nathalie and crying, his eyes red rimmed and his heart hurting from experiencing such a deep loss a second time. he'd probably been crying for hours. hadn't thought he'd be able to be whole again. and then he saw marinette and LIT UP, smiling and running to her and immediately hugging her. it has me wanting to Cry. he was swaying as he was holding her. he needed that hug like he needed air. that hug was probably some of the best relief he'd felt from grief all day. she's everything to him. he loves her so much. imagine how much weight that hug lifted from his shoulders. how he probably sank into that hug and the stress melted from him. how much he cares about marinette and how much she means to him. im sick. i love them sm

i am so so glad that this is how we get to say goodbye to the old animation: a heartfelt ladynoir rooftop scene where time stands still and it’s just the two of them, by each other’s side like always. even if everything else seems bleak, even if they don’t yet know how to overcome this new challenge, it’s still them against the world. and that’s what matters
