like actually not to show up years late with starbucks etc but what do you MEAN that right after buck almost dies in front of him in the lightning strike, eddie plans that whole poker night not!date with buck, quips about how they could totally take the show on the road to vegas, then trips into “dating feels like a performance” in the immediate subsequent episode, has a whole recurring time of it being set up on dates he doesn’t want by his aunt, finds a new girlfriend, but then soon after he gets actually flown out to vegas by some other guy he just clicked with overnight but who he didn’t realize is gay and it’s deffffinitely also not a date, and eddie is still with said girlfriend and randomly asks her to move in with him and his son for some reason, and then buck comes out and eddie gives a pitch perfect “your bestie just came out to you” response and then goes home has a weirdly symbolic conversation with his girlfriend about how she didn’t tell him the full truth about her past as a nun and he’s not ready and they should slow down and start over so they can actually get to know each other, and then we never actually see that happen because he immediately meets the doppelgänger of the late wife who, guess what, literally died in front of him, which ends about as well as you’d expect it to and. huh???????
