As someone who LOVES a good old time travel au, and after seeing amazing fanart of kid!Mihawk i have to let it out!!
I just wanna read a time travel fic where baby Mihawk wakes up and finds himself in the world of adult Mihawk and he's like wtf is going on?
And word goes around that a kid that looks exactly like Hawkeyes and carries the same cross knife as him is roaming around this island and rumors say it's the son he abandoned to fend for himself.
And so, marines and every pirates he ever wronged come after him for revenge and the little guy is just thinking why is everyone trying to get me? While doing his best with his cross dagger to rid of them.
And Shanks, good ol' shanks could have sworn that if his old rival had an 9years old, he would know about it (also he refuses to let the bitter taste in his heart take over unless his own eyes see) so he's skeptical about the whole thing and that's the only thing that gets him to leave his hideout in a reclused ghost island waiting for whatever is his big plan to take place.
News say Red Shanks is on the move after being mia for a few years and everyone got their panties in a twist, what could have raised the emperor from the dead.
He follows from island to island because apparently the young boy knows how to avoid the marines and pirates coming after him.
Till one night, on their stop at some bar on an island that wasn't really on the plan, he sees the boy. Just outside the bar in an alley, where he went to empty his guts from the booze overfilling his body, there stood bloody faced, cross dagger in one hand, a tiny version of his old rival with a bounty hunter's body at his feet.
The boy furrows his eyebrows even more at the new arrival and strikes another pose in case the new guy tries something funny. But Shanks, drunk ass Shanks, who knows his rival by heart is a 100% sure the little guy is in fact his rival for whatever magical reason, there he stands in front of him in the form of an 9years old and Shanks giggles at that -to which the child takes great offense- and just say "hey kid, i'm a friend of your dad's, want me to take you to him?"

i have so many thoughts about his gender and how he's kind of textually a woman and/or abinary (read tags if interested)

#I’m reading volumes 14-16 of the ouran manga OOUGHHH MY HEART#I love this weird little friend group so much its unreal#like u have this charming sweeps you off your feet prince but he’s actually a huge lovable idiot with a kind heart and his friends#who are all misfits that he reached out to and drew in because of his kindness and own weirdness like that shits TIGHT BRO#and the trauma part where he has some deep seated issues with love bc he thinks that itll break a family apart like with his mom#how his family isnt allowed to be together because his mom and dad fell in love and how he says he wants to build a big house#so that way one day everyone will get along as a family like. all he wants is not to lose everyone and the only way to do that is#by maintaining a certain order.. he both wants a complete family so bad and doesnt want anything to sour between anyone#so he assigns each of his friends a family role based on how he sees them and YEAH its mostly played for giggles and tamakis#already weird so its his way of showing theyre close to him but. god damn this boy has LAYERS#it also feels kinda meta towards how found family tends to get thrown around to assign characters as 'siblings' or family roles instead of#using it to describe characters who are close enough to be each others family. cuz tamakis doing that EXACT THING in a way tht#ties in with his character and i have to say its fascinating using that within the story itself and its completely plausible#theres a lot of things i can say about ouran that are good bad and questionable but. god i love it when characters are niceys to each other#i remember i really liked the mall episode bc kyoya and haruhi got to spend time together and their relationship isnt very close#but it was really nice to see their personalities bounce off each other. i think i also wouldve liked to see haruhi alone with kaoru#i also firmly believe all of the hosts are at least a little in love with haruhi and this can be anything like endearing romantic cuz like#who DOESNT love haruhi. kyoya i think would want to study her under a microscope like his fascination with her draws him in#but im fucking obsessed with whatever haruhi and tamaki have going on because YES hes obsessed with her YES he jumps at the chance to#put her in a cute costume but haruhi? she just fucking goes with it because she knows hes fun to be around even if hes a little wacky abt i#theyre all so. they gave my favorite character a closed arc and wrote her out of the story 👍

If hesphael is ephael giving in to hestio with some jibes that have little to no heat behind them, then ailette/hestio is ailette returning hestio's energy even more and hestio not being able to take it. Ephael teases hestio with a ☺️ or 😄 face while ailette is like >:)) and she does not pull punches. she would embarrass him happily and watch him combust. They compete on a bunch of inconsequential things and hestio loses 80% of the time because ailette is just too cool like that.

misunderstanding of my point on one of my post :/
#point was that people who argue that aa4 is more thematically off-base from Ace Attorney as a series than aa5 & 6 are#are ppl who just like to play Phoenix because of familiarity without much thought to his character and themes of AA#point was not ‘ppl who like 5&6 only like it because they can play Phoenix’#especially because the ppl i was talking about dont even necessarily like DD or SOJ they just argue they are more align with the series#and my point was that 5 & 6 do not write the themes of curruption as well (among other things) as the previous games#so if you argue that aa4 feels more ‘off’ from the series than 5&6 do: then you just like the comfort of Phoenix being in the blue suit#because aa4 was different than the trilogy yes but it carried the themes of the trilogy with it into a new era in a way that made sense#aa5 coming in and talking about ‘the dark age of law’ and aa6 having Phoenix say ‘where im from ppl are innocent until proven guilty’#is much more of a slap to the face to the trilogy than anything aa4 did#because these things deny and erase the fact that the trilogy was always about the system being currupt!!#the end of DD doesn’t fix that curruption it finds one bad guy and then has the characters say they fixed it and thats not how that works!!#aa4 doesn’t make the trilogy out to be the golden age of law;#it specifically highlights how that system is what lead to Trucy being abandoned and Phoenix losing all he worked towards#but I wasn’t saying there isn’t anything to like about 5 & 6 or that people only like them for Phoenix back im blue#you gotta not zoom in on one line and look at the rest of the things I said#never said 5 & 6 didn’t have characters that were interesting and charming

As of late I've been obsessed with two fandoms: Les mis and Merlin (yes I'm ten years late on everything) so rightfully I decided to mash the two and this is the result
A Les Mis Merlin!AU,
starring Enjolras as Arthur and Les amis as the knights, bar grantaire that is gonna be Merlin.
Enjolras is a prat in a different way from Arthur, he tends to fail to see from others' prospective and is quite oblivious to feelings and emotional nuance. As a noble he would lack the ability to understand _why_ poor people/sorcerers _don't_ fight for better treatment. He expects them to. He doesn't understand having too much on your plate to do that, nor fearing for your life
Grantaire as Merlin would be a much more reclutant Emrys. He is a cynic, but it'd stem from being constantly scared of death. He'd bring Enj down a notch and make him see the reality of being a commoner, or of having magic. He is so strong he is afraid of his own power, and he doesn't want the weight of the responsability; every magic person is counting of him and he is convinced that he would fail them if he tried.
In this AU magic would be banned in Camelot by the king (role that would fit Javert to a T, ignoring the familiar relations) but Arthur!Enjolras would be pro magic from the start, AND somewhat open about that position. He is the head the knights and has a inner circle made of Les amis that are also pro magic.
I think it would make the most sense for grantaire to keep the magic to himself, even after knowing their stance on it. Maybe it could be revealed that he is a magic user early on, but he would keep being Emrys under wraps. Destiny is shit anyway.
He would gladly lay his life down for Enj and do anything for him tho, as we well know. He would bicker and fight and piss him off but his magic IS for Enj. He believes in the future of Albion just because he believes in Enjolras; destiny is shit and he won't be its bitch but one thing it got right, grantaire would not stop at anything to keep his king safe.
The other characters are more muddy:
I think Cosette could be a (good!)Morgana. Enj's half sibling, with powerful magic. BUT she could also be a good Gwen, with Marius as Lancelot and Jean Valjean as the town forger.
With Cosette as Morgana, Eponine could be her Gwen (and Cosette x Eponine x Marius would work so well here). Gwen!Eponine makes sense because it would keep her lower class status AND would put her in the position to be Grantaire first and best friend in Camelot.
I think that what would make the most sense about the line of succession would be for Enj and Cosette to be half siblings, children of a Duke who had an affair with Fantine (not that Fantine would...you can make this tragic); Fantine then married Jean Valjean (posing as a noble) to keep her honor and give Cosette a father (Valjean is perfectly aware of all of this. They made a patch). Tragedy struck and Enj parents die, so he is taken in by Javert (the king, enj's father brother) because he doesn't have any other descendant and Enj is now the second in line.
Fantine dies and Valjean is discovered to be an impostor posing as noble, and is forced to flee. Javert takes Cosette from him because he know the truth of her birth, so she is rightfully in line for the throne too.
I think most other roles could be shuffled around getting more distant from canon Merlin; we should have Joly as the court physician (or at least apprentice, as opposed to grantaire). Musichetta has her hands full running The Rising Sun, or another tavern/inn. Jehan is a druid in my heart, he could be Enj's contact with the old religion and its people.
Also Jean Valjean could be good not-related-to-Grantaire Balinor. It would give him a reason to be in hiding, and to be hated by Javert
Anyway this is all I have for now, but I'll probably add more later
#lets hear your thoughts on this yall#les Miserables fandom is quite dead but i have the cup of life in my hands so you better wake up#yeah i know enjolras would never want to be a king#he is for the Republique™#but hey#once he is king he can always dismantle the monarchy#unite albion democratically#would Courfeyrac be Gawain? charming lovable emotionally intelligent and always in love#marius as Lancelot is perfect if it wasnt for the fact that marius is the one with like...#the richest background lol and lance is THE commoner#the round table makes perfect sense for them#also i didnt specify but obviously this is enjoltaire#grantaire would make so many Sun King references#spend hours thinking about enj in the crown#he would lay at his feet by the throne and worship the man and meanwhile anj is like “okay how can i Lose all this power and distribute it?”#their relationship is always unbalanced because there's SO much devotion coming from R#and i think that in this case it would come out as R being obsessed with the idea of Enj as a king#because thats the prophecy#thats what it says and out of all of it thats the only thing he can and will get behind#but E is so much more than the future king and is quite uncomfortable with being put on a pedestal#he believe is equality and justice and so until R sees him as a person he wouldnt get too close#he feels as is all that devotion puts distance between them#and its not kike the devotion is going to be to ed down as time goes on#but R would start to see his flaws and his humanity and would start to love more Him than the Idea of Him#and hey this is a merlin that actually IS at the tavern drinking when you cant find him#well most of the times at least#les amis de l'abc#EXR#eponine/marius/cosette#les mis Merlin!AU

With the way Russian women's figure skating is looking right now, if Russia is allowed back in international competition, I hope Liza decides to go for one more try at the Olympics. It's not a guarantee, but I genuinely feel like she has a shot at qualifying for the first time at the age of 29
#fourth time's the charm right#the minimum age is now 17 and eteri's camp is not looking as strong#if Liza can keep her triple axel she's easily competitive with the other skaters in Russia now#again no guarantees but she'd be in the game#I think whether or not Russia is allowed back into international competition next season is going to be a big factor#in her decision to retire or not#she cited it as one of the reasons she's not competing this season#and she wrote a couple paragraphs about how she knows it will be harder to come back from a year off#but she says she's healthy and confident she won't lose her triple axel and she'll be able to do it if she wants#and really after 16 seasons without a break it's smart to take that break now#better now when there's no real competition on the line#she also has Grand Prix spots if she wants them#which the other Russian women are not guaranteed because even kamila hasn't been to a senior worlds#and since Liza placed second at her last senior worlds and anyone who places top six before taking time off#can claim spots when they come back then she should have them#she wouldn't be in a bad place when Russia is allowed back in#so we'll see what happens with that#and even if she does choose to retire she's one of the few Russian women who had a full career in recent years#she outlasted a lot of competitors#but I really do hope she decides to go for it#or even one more Russian nationals for a big send off#she's currently tied for the most Russian nationals ever#one more and it's all hers

I don’t know what a parasocial relationship is and at this point I’m too afraid to ask.
#I mean I sort of get it#but there is a mental block#it’s not all poisonous I guess!!!! sometimes you love people from afar!!!!! it’s okay!!!!!#reality will let you know when it’s time to let them go#I loved stonefield for YEARS and you know what it’s good they broke up because it got too intense#and I healed and moved on. but also like. love from afar isn’t inherently messed up and twisted#‘why woULd aNYoNe CAre ABouT ceLEBritIEs’#ummm idk because they’re human beings And have you met human beings they can be so funny and fascinating and charming#No amount of fame or ego undoes that and sometimes it just makes it more tragic#and like. I say this as someone who has (largely) moved on from caring about celebrities the way that I used to#because like. I needed to. And I needed to grow up#and learn to love the people in my life the most#and to understand who that was#and that it WASn’t Emma stone#But like. I'm trying so hard to keep it all together but i still cannot fully believe that we're seeing hira and kiyoi tomorrow
#first of all. even trying to comprehend that its been more than a year with them and now we're getting MORE#would it be embarrassing if i said that i rewatched the show like 6-8 times haha#i rewatched it a couple of times on my own with like various sub versions and just to feed my obsession#but also ive seen i think pretty much every reaction to it on bilibili#which were rather interesting sometimes funny sometimes real thoughtful and always emotional#and like not to make my tags too long but god its so crazy that rewatching did not make it lose its charm for me At All#i just..they mean so much to me especially hira...no one understands him like i do okay#i was meant to say that its really difficult to keep it together bc ive got my first exam tomorrow as a master student lmao#but yeah um anyway ramblings are over#talking to myself#utsukushii kare
