Batfam Brainrot still going strong, and at this rate, it probably won’t go away until I finish up drawing them in my very specific order. This time, it actually is Tim Drake’s turn! Have some Red Robin!

Initial trace with low effort background! Listen. I’m NOT drawing the condom cowl. I loved the Red Robin comics, but that was probably the only part I actually hated. The stupid stupid earless cowl. Fortunately for me, the writers apparently got the memo halfway through, since Tim has this MUCH COOLER alternative costume when he’s in the Ünternet. Yeah, for those of you who’ve never read it, turns out the supervillains have a Ready Player One-esque virtual reality internet that they use to communicate that’s also, like, really corruptive and strongly encourages all your worst impulses and feelings. Tim takes it down from the inside out with the help of his catatonic Guy In the Chair, Lonnie Machin, formerly known as Anarky. Anyway, this is my favorite Red Robin costume, mostly cuz the mask is really unique and cool and very bird-like. I’m also a long-hair Tim supremacist.

Stylization time! I mentioned in the Carrie Kelley post that I need to draw more characters with capes because they’re genuinely so fun! Like, I know, Edna Mode is correct during her whole rant about no capes. They’re not practical like 90% of the time. But, MAN, do they look cool! And in the case of Batfamily members, I actually can attempt to justify it! Bruce’s cape is bulletproof, Tim’s cape is secretly a glider, and the Robin cape is great for jerking the current Robin around like a misbehaving cat when they fall over ledges or whatever! I also pushed Tim towards the skinny side. Tim is a teenager who isn’t done growing, so I like the idea that he’s kind of gangly and awkward and wiry. Not as muscular as his big brothers, simply because he’s still growing into his proportions.

Characterization pose! I wanted to draw him in a pose that communicated his maniacal scheming supervillain energy, so analytical head tilt and slightly hunched shoulders felt good for that. I’m a major fan of Tim being slightly creepy too, so this helped. I love the expression I gave him in his civvies! Just a dead eyed stare that could mean anything from “plotting your murder for a minor insult” to “wondering if eating that 4 day old sandwich of unknown origin was a bad idea.” I enjoy the fact that his hair is about the same length as Cass’, which makes them pretty indistinguishable for someone with failing eyesight. They definitely use it to mess with people. Also, I know his boots are solid black too, but I really wanted some more red to help break up the overwhelming amount of black in his costume. There are only so many shades of gray I can use before it gets annoying! As usual, the hero name text was traced, although this time I also typed out his real name and traced that too.

Tim: Exactly. I mean, sure, the plan might have involved hacking into Gotham’s power grid, a few strategic distractions, and, uh, some minor illegal surveillance-

Barbara: MINOR? DISTRUBANCES??

Tim: Okay, fine! The plan also had a teensy bit of hacking into the stock market, manipulating a few politicians, and borrowing a couple confidential documents, but nobody was harmed!

Bruce: ...In the strictest sense.

Tim: Yes! See, it's a win-win solution!

Barbara: *furious* You two are insane. You’re treating morally ambiguous like it’s a fun new hobby. He practically engineered an escape from a high-security prison by tricking the entire staff into thinking it was game night. In addition, he orchestrated a city-wide blackout just to steal classified documents, and you’re calling it genius?

Bruce: Very resourceful.

Tim: I mean... it’s not his fault they didn’t know how to play Dungeons & Dragons. Also, I want to see who else could pull off a high-profile heist while simultaneously launching a PR campaign for a new tech startup!

Bruce: *to Tim* Wayne Enterprise's tech gadgets cleared the shelves, we need to speed up production.

Tim: Already on it.

Barbara: You’re defending this? That’s not genius, that’s a psychotic breakdown wrapped in a cape! It's madness layered up in a three-piece suit!

Bruce and Tim: It’s Dick.

Barbara: I swear, if it was anyone else, you’d be throwing them in a cell for years.

Bruce and Tim: It’s Nightwing. He has plausible deniability.

Barbara: Plausible? I think he has a whole separate universe of deniability!

You could say that everyone has a colour. It could be their favourite colour, a colour that suits them or a colour they just surround themselves with uncontiously.

But when playing in the wii you’ve got maximum 4 players, each one with a number and color.

That started a tradition in the Wayne household. Blue, red, green and yellow. Player 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Dick was always player 1 in everything, perks of being the first child. When Jason joined them he took player 2 that then became Tim’s place, Cass taking player 3. The oldest siblings (or the ones that came before) have the privilege of having the first players. And whoever came over to play took player 4, mostly Bruce or Steph.

But then Damian came when a wii arrived home. He should’ve been player 4, but player 3 was green, and green was a better colour. Cass and him changed places, she wouldn’t complain.

And then Jason came back to life, Damian insisting he should be player 2 because it was his rightful position but not letting Tim be player 3, making him player 4 with Cass and other guests.

And then the family grew and they got a switch for the family to share, each one of them (and honorary members) having a set colour controller, the player number being attributed to whoever was the fastest, even if Dick and his blue controller always end up being player one.

And if you’re wondering here go the colours of each one controller: blue for Dick, red for Jason, yellow for Tim, pink for Cass, purple for Steph, green for Damian, orange for Duke and grey, black or other sets for the rest of the people that come to play

Here me out: Babs, Steph, and Cass have girl nights at the clock tower, Dick crashes one of them and he has his long hair. Babs, Steph, Cass, and Dick all sit in a hair braiding circle. Maybe Tim hops in and they teach him how to braid hair.

Maybe Cass had never braided hair beforehand either (I’m sure she learned how to for tactical reasons) so her and Tim share that first together.

Maybe the next time Cass visits Bruce, she has a braid in her hair.
