Iron Man: Are we sure this guy wants to be a villain? He's had tears in his eyes every moment we've seen him.
Loki: [visibly teary-eyed] I have not. Thor: It's fine, Man of Iron. My brother has always been crying as far back as I can remember. Iron Man: And no one ever thought that was weird?!?

I think that the newer Loki fandom needs to let Loki be the charotic, mischievous, lying god that they are. Let them be "bad"! It's okay!
That's who they are! They don't need to be fixed!

True magic is the imposition of a narrative upon reality. It is telling a story to the world... and making the world believe it.

Iron Man: What's wrong with him? Was he dropped on his head a lot as a baby?
Loki: Bold of you to assume I was ever held.

❝ This universe prefers old patterns, old cycles. It would prefer me in an old shape. These files — these stories — have a gravity that pulls at me. That would crush me back into what I no longer am. Away with them, then. I did terrible things to be Loki — things that haunt me, crimes that cannot be forgiven — but I am Loki. And more than that — I am myself. ❞

So this question popped up in my brain today, who were gods/goddesses that were considered outcasts or rebels among the other gods in their respective pantheons.
The first ones that come to mind are,
1. Sun Wukong: the mischievous Monkey King of Chinese mythology.
2. Eris: The Greek goddess of strife, discord, and chaos.
3. Loki: The infamous trickster god of Norse mythology.
I’m just wondering who are other gods or goddesses from different pantheons who fit this criteria; where they gods/goddesses with truly unique powers and abilities and just stand out from the rest, but at the same time they’re not respected or even liked by either mortals or other gods.
Just wanted to share this thought. 😁✌️

When Loki said “I am Loki. God of Outcasts. They see themselves in me and I in them. All of us alone together.” yeah.

I can see both sides of this. It could be that the temple was seen as the most secure place for a baby, and Odin left things out.
However, even though he didn't know he was a Jotun, Loki did have knowledge of Laufey and the Jotuns. I feel like the heir to the Jotun throne disappearing in a battle, and Laufey looking for his son would be something people outside of Jotunheim would be aware of. Even without knowledge of his own birth, Loki would have known that the king of Jotunheim was searching for a lost heir.
I doubt Odin would have been able to hide from all of Asgard that Laufey was alleging something happened to his child (whether the baby was killed or kidnapped) during the battle between Asgard and Jotunheim.
Which does sort of imply that Laufey was either not looking for the baby or had accepting the child was dead. But even if he had accepted the death of this child, I can see him making it one of his many public grievances against Asgard. I mean, what better way to rally Jotuns against Asgard than to point out they murdered a baby?
The butter knife vs dagger argument and i raise u. Loki fandom not knowing the difference between baby dumping and infanticide (is there a difference?)
Yeah, there's a difference between abandoning a baby and infanticide. I would definitely categorize what happens to baby Loki as an attempt at infanticide.
The only thing I can think of in the Loki fandom that you might be referring to is the idiotic popular fanon that Laufey left Loki in the temple to be protected?? From??? I'm not sure????? And Odin actually didn't save Loki, he kidnapped him???????
