Freya internally cringed a little, hearing her name for the eight millionth time today. She’d gotten to the southern islands a few days ago, and Hella and Cajetan - Caj -, two of her younger cousins (which there were way too fucking many of, by the way, and she said this as one of eleven kids), had made it their life‘s mission to ask her about every single thing that she’d ever done. 

The Westergaards were… surprisingly okay, actually, at least most of them. (Dad always said to avoid Caleb, Edvin, the twins, and Loke. That would’ve been easier had Caleb not been the king and had Loke not been Mikki, Hella, and Caj‘s dad.) 

However, being from a different background entirely apparently made her the most fascinating thing to ever walk into Hella‘s line of sight, and it was a bit hard to say no when she knew the pair was well-intentioned. Also, they’d been sneaking her slices of apple pie, and that was definitely a bonus of letting them bug her. (Bjelna, yet another cousin, had told her to tell them that she needed them to help with her baby when Freya got tired of the kids. Thank you, Bjelna.)

You should talk about Berserkers more <333

Aw, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ignore the ask. I was super fixated on finishing that thing I was working on and wanted to finish it first for two reasons. I was super fixated and that would answer part of this ask. Sorta. I'll post that later.

Also I'm sorry if I sound incoherent I took some Benadryl and everything's fuzzy right now.

So. Berserkers.

Okay so I basically love the idea of the berserker and all that but found it lacked a little...panache. At least to me anyway.

Berserkers are essentially a long lived type of humanoid warrior. While out of berserker mode they look identical to regular humans in every way. In fact, there is no way to tell if what you're looking at is a human or a berserker. However, when they shift into their berserker mode they turn into hulking, muscular humanoids that stand somewhere between 8 feet and 9.5 feet tall and weigh anywhere between 350 to 490 pounds. That's without armors and their weapons. Aside from getting really freaking big they conjure up armors and weapons, adults conjure up two weapons. The look and style of the armors and weapons differ from individual to individual but each armor and weapon depends solely on the culture of the berserker.

Let's use Loke for an example. He's Norwegian so his armor and weapons will reflect that. He's a Nordic or Norse whichever you wanna use berserker so that'll reflect on the style of his gear.

Aside from hulking out and conjuring weapons these fuckers are strong and I mean S T R O N G! They're one of the few non-humans that can and dare to go up against the divine in a head to head battle and make them sweat and work for their victory. They're not mindless in this state but they are super quick to start fighting and once a berserker picks a target there's not much that'll stand in the way of them defeating their target.

Also their armor can sustain damage and even break but the amount of force that has to be used in order to break their armor is fucking mental. Now, just because the armor breaks it doesn't mean it's permanent, if the armor breaks the berserker shifts back into their human form until it regenerates which can take a few hours depending on the severity of the damage. However, their weapons will never break or dull or rust. Speaking of, a berserker doesn't need to shift into berserker mode in order to conjure their weapons, they can do so at any time they need. Like so.

Another change I forgot to mention is that while in berserker mode their eyes tend to glow in whatever color their eyes are and that also happens when only conjuring a weapon. Yeah, Loke has green eyes but the red comes from when he was resurrected so Loke's kind of a special case. The electricity surging through the axe isn't normal either. We'll get to that.

Now, berserkers may have their roots and origins in magic but they cannot use magic, not in human form and much less in berserker mode. It's not that they aren't permitted, it's just that they cannot actually understand magic so they can't really learn it. I had to nerf them somewhere lol

Yeah, I know, the doodle is contradicting everything I'm saying but again, Loke's kind of a special case.

If a berserker should ever decide to try and learn magic it would be one hell of a gargantuan task as like I said, they don't actually understand it so they don't bother, besides, with their raw power they don't need magic. Hell, they don't need a rocket launcher either...

When they're young berserkers can conjure a range of weapons to try out and practice with them to sort of get a feeling as to which two they feel most comfortable with, then iirc by their late teens they've already made up their minds as to which two weapons they feel comfortable with and stick to those two only. Since they specialize in two weapons they become like an extension to them, they pretty much master that weapon and become devastating with them.

In the case of Loke he chose a two headed axe like his dad has and the bow and arrow like his mom has.

Like I said, these guys are long lived but they seldom get to fully enjoy that because they're a warrior species. Fighting is in their blood so most die in battle. And these fuckers are extremely tough to kill which means that they tend to die brutally and bloody.

They don't have some jacked up healing like other species have, they'll scar and aren't immune to diseases both inherited and catching.

Loke for example has asthma, hemophilia (which is crazy when you really think about it and what he is), astigmatism, can't see well up close I forgot what that one's called...you get the idea.

Now! Magic and Loke. Okay, so he's idolized his mom for as long as he can remember and always wanted to be like her. Since he was a little boy he asked his mom to teach him how to use magic and while Sanaa knew it was damn near impossible she humored. This took a very long time, we're talking 30+ years for him to get but Sanaa taught him a small trick she often used that can turn one arrow into thousands of arrows that rain on the enemy. She also taught him to conjure an element, in his case it's lightning, to wrap itself around his conjured weapon. These are things that would take a child a few months to get but since Loke's a berserker it took that long. This was kind of a pretty big deal as vommon berserkers just can't really do that but he persevered until he got it. Then it took him some 20 odd years or so to be able to consistently pull it off. Now he can do it in his sleep like it's nothing and it serves to intimidate others and impress others like his mom's side of the family. When they first saw it their minds were blown to hell and back and those people don't get surprised by anything.

So if the berserker is based on the person's culture, what about those who's parents are from two different cultures? Easy. The armor and weapons take aspects of both parents.

That pretty much cover the common berserker. Then there are arcane berserkers of which ONLY AND ONLY the Nyota people can be arcane berserkers. However, if a common berserker and an arcane berserker have a child that child will also be an arcane berserker and be considered a Nyota descendant.

i am making this post only once due to discuss a situation that has been going on for a while. as of right now, i will be stating my stance and stating the situation and what my involvement has been. i will not reblog this post. this will be linked to my pin for a short time. if you are interested or have been keeping up with what's been going on, please feel free to read. this is being done out of respect and i do not wish for anyone to witch hunt or harass.

i am no longer in contact with Loke as of May 3rd. there have been some realizations i've made, specifically with the current situation at hand and in the past where i had been friends with them for a few years and only did i realize that our friendship was made from drama. i had been made aware of things they had done, both in the past and recently, that has made me come to that realization to leave.

because of the contact we had, i was labeled as an enabler and supporter of Loke's behavior. i have not made any posts in the last year regarding them, but i have frequently interacted with them, along with the mess of drama with Star from two years ago. however, i will say i was blind to most of the mess and defended them like how most friends would do naturally. that, i will admit to because of the friendship we had. i do not deny that there were major fuck-ups then and now. i do not support those actions and retract any statements i have made in the past in regards to what they have done.

this leads me into my next point as the reasonings are loosely connected - i am no longer in contact with Star as of April 8th. she is no longer my mutual. the reasonings behind it were due to my statements to her in private DMs that how she had been handling her posts on her end was not being done right. not because i supported Loke, but because of how drama is naturally handled, it was done venomously and to air out on the dash, which broke her own rules about drama.

this later transcended into our friendship and how she would talk to me as a friend instead of a tumblr mutual. i stated that only after my finals and semester end (April 10th) that i would talk to her more about this because i wanted to make mends and talk to her about this one on one with how uncomfortable i felt. i wanted nothing to do with the situation nor did i want to get myself involved and stated this to Star and others. i didn't learn until after my exams that she had blocked me and made her public google document in regards to the drama she had posted continuously on her blog. which lead me to call her out privately in her own discord server.

i have also come to the realization in regards to my friendship with her that part of it was also built on drama and clique behavior, which had been mentioned in her callout posts previously in the past and i had denied in privacy by me. i was quickly sucked into the kind of behavior when it came to posting about drama shortly after befriending Star (making frequent OOC posts vagueposting about situations that happen on the dash and in privacy). i have been working on stopping this behavior and do not wish for that to continue any further with my writing.

if you wish to DM me for further about this and ask more, i will be happy to explain more with honesty. there have been major fuck-ups on my end that i want to come clean about that have been a breakage of my own rules due to being in the heat of the moment. i will be open to any questions and i want to keep it that way if anyone really wants to know more.

after way too long, Act 1 is finally fucking done, yet the more I read it, the shorter it feels. I can’t tell if it’s because I don’t need to absorb the tutorial stuff due to being familiar with the comic already, or because I’m anticipating when shit really goes crazy later on. maybe a bit of both. it certainly preps me for the art style, the flowery language, the weird humor, and so on.

I can say that Act 1 is

fine.

it is of good quality.

nothing groundbreaking and not the best,

but enjoyable nonetheless.

I get that it’s a bit slow and nothing really happens, but I’m able to entertain myself with the page to page shenanigans and good character interactions.

in conclusion: people who skipped Act 1 are cringe, and have doomed themselves. Act 1 good.

Yo! Im the loke/laxus anon, you totallly ate there, i was very invested in the gamer au. And also i wanted to ask, if it's okay would natsu/cobra hcs be cool? Randomly found some fanart of it on pinterest and I was like. Hm. I dont fully understand the concept but intriguing

That one is quite the struggle to imagine. Natsu is the kind of person that requires patience and a certain joie de vivre to get along with. Cobra has neither of those.

Natsu is the one who starts pursuing Cobra, not even romantically at first but just to hang out with him. He's very concerned about Cobra being such a loner and frowning all the time.

This does not go over well. Cobra, as he would remind Natsu, has friends, and doesn't need pink-haired loudmouths clinging to him. Natsu quickly recognizes this train of thought (i.e. only hanging out with a select group of friends and shunning everyone else) as akin to Laxus' behavior pre-Fantasia, and forces the issue.

They fight a few times. Natsu gets stomped, even without Cobra's ability to read minds. Shockingly, this doesn't work to deter him--I know, incredible surprise.

It gets to a point where Cobra is seriously thinking about killing Natsu--not as a joke, just outright that tired of him--when he trips up one day and they have their first real connection. Cobra is feeding a nearby snake, completely lost in his thoughts, so much so his super-hearing doesn't pick up Natsu nearby. Natsu is super proud to catch Cobra, a bad guy, doing something "nice".

Cobra, concerned about his image, defends himself with the rationale that he's not being nice. He's just the cog in the wheel of nature that was selected as the means for an animal to feed itself. It's total bullshit and Natsu calls him on it, too.

This ends up being the weakness that lets Natsu get close, though. He always wants to be around when Cobra feeds snakes or other wildlife, and Cobra never wants to do it in front of him, and when he's finally caught again, he gives the rationale that he does it because even things that aren't pretty or soft deserve to eat.

Cobra only starts truly being able to tolerate Natsu more (well, for a generous value of "tolerate"--he'd still rather Natsu leave him alone) when Natsu starts to expand his unasked-for presence to the rest of the Oracion Seis, which in turn helps him understand Cobra more. Cobra has a familiarity with animal senses and instinct that has helped him pull Racer out of some dark places when he over-uses his hyper speed magic, and he has a grounded attachment to reality that has helped Angel when she starts to dissociate. He even knows a few tricks for maintaining focus and clearing one's head, something he's had to use to counteract his overcranked hearing and which he taught to Midnight to help him sleep. Natsu doesn't start to fall for Cobra until he sees why the other members of the Seis cherish him as much as they do.

Natsu does attempt to be more """"serious"""" around Cobra, if only to not annoy him so much, and the effort is silently appreciated. Natsu lowering the volume and the rapid pace helps him interact with Cobra a lot.

At one point, Cobra gets separated from the rest of the Seis for some misadventure or other that goes pretty rough. Natsu manages to track him down by following his scent, only by the time he does, Cobra's all banged up, soaking wet from rain, ears hurting, and in a shitty mood. Natsu gets him to a safe spot and tosses him a bottle of pain meds for the headache he undoubtedly has, tosses him some dry sweatpants, lets him un-fuckup himself on his own.

Cobra fucks Natsu into another dimension that night, is what I'm saying. Like, something breaks, he just drags Natsu into a room, throws him on a bed--no words, just angry, needy, self-hating, frustrated pumping.

And from there on, whatever's between them is difficult to put a label on. Natsu is into it, Cobra isn't, and there's an understanding that if Natsu ever tells anyone he's dead to rights.

Every once in a while, whatever the hell they are will soften into something that could be. Some cuddling on the couch. Fingers in Natsu's hair. Cobra docile as long as Natsu stays quiet and doesn't move too fast. Cobra will accept the illusion of being loved by someone as long as he doesn't have to consider that it might be real.

just in general evrything about the bells, and more especiall like how is lina giving lupe her bells (because that is 100% gonna happen i think) gonna affect them, for example if they'll get lina's bell as like their own, and if that bell being kinda broken is gonna be any problem

also about the bells, i really wanna know how many bells each witch has!! it''s just something i think would be interesting to analyse. (i looked through all the episodes where a witch has their bells out buut i still now only know for certain the number of bels like 7 witches have (before 137 and emma giving up her bells): Erica 1, Emma 2, Socks 2 (most likely, unless she got mor after the prison break, that's when she at least shows only 2), Alishba 3, Linda 3 (both of whose bells were shown during the prison break), Carla 20, Lina 21.

also also (i use that word so much), the names of the witches! we now know there are 17 witches in the red hoods (+lupe +lina so maybe 19 but oh well) and of those 17 we know the names of 12 (episode 133)

what i wanna know too is like which bell belongs to which witch? we've seen some, for example in the flashback of when they first appeared, and also in the festival of roses we see some, but like i wnna knowww (ye sit's very trivial but that's what makes it fun i think)

the mom. what happened with her in the 8 months that have passed since lupe was last in their original world? did she just continue on like normal, or did she actually regret some of the things she's done? will lupe go see her again?

the inevitable. the thing i've been waiting for for like 2 years. the KISS! alvar mentioned the witch loking very mad and the also saying he's the kinda guy to ask twice before a first kiss and what i think will happen is that he is gonna ask. like he's just the kinda guy. but the thing lupe (most likely) will be "mad" about is just that al didnt tell about it (even tho he was gonna tell you lupe, you just didnt want him to). or they arent mad, but just like very confused/fristrated and Al just interpreted it wrong? i dont know. we'll see (hopefully tomorrow in 140 but at the evry least in 141?? like i dont think it will take so long that it would be 142? A Heart Of Iron Chapter 29 - Part 2 Premiere

When they had brought him home after Tony - he still couldn't believe that there was such a thing as "after Tony" - the others tried to take him to his room, and that almost broke him. His room was where he and Tony first kissed, it was where Tony had told him about him getting out of the wheelchair, and it was even where Tony had told him that he loved him. There were way too many memories there, memories that Loki might be able to revisit someday, but right then, they were too much. It was all too much.

The next few months were a blur. Loki barely left the guest room he was staying in, and the few times he tried, he would see someone playing Mario Kart or one of the Iron Man suits or even one of the Avengers and it would remind him of Tony and he would barely make it back into his room before he broke into tears.Eventually he stopped leaving altogether, he barely ate, and he didn't shower.

He did start journaling, though. He wrote letters to Tony about things that had happened, dreams that he had, and, sometimes, when he ran out of things to talk about, he just started telling stories. He always ended them with "See you soon!" or "Can't wait until you get back", things that didn't mention how he was never going to see Tony again, never going to hold the other man's face in his hands ever again, never going to feel those soft, pink lips against his, and never going to smell the vanilla shampoo that Tony used that always smelled like home.

Basically, he had been journaling.

He sometimes found himself rewatching old videos of Tony, trying not to forget how the other man sounded. Deep down, he knew that he was eventually going to forget how he smelled, and the way his hugs felt, and how his lips felt, and how his lips tasted, but that wasn't going to happen. Tony was going to come back. He had to come back. Loki was going to march down to Valhalla himself and drag that stupid son of a bitch back to life if it was the last thing he did. He had to.

Loki had tried to force his way to Valhalla, but he hadn't been able to get in. He had thrown everything he had at the gates but they wouldn't budge. He had spent hours in front of Odin, pleading for him to just save this one mortal that had died protecting a land that wasn't even his own, but Odin didn't budge either. Loki had gotten on his knees and begged, but Odin still said that if he resurrected everyone in Valhalla that had died a hero's death, it would be empty. Loki had tried saying that he would give up his claim to the throne, even give up his magic, just to be able to have Tony back, but Odin kept saying no.

When he had finally gone home, he had gone down to the gym and started up the virtual arena, choosing Thanos and throwing everything he had at the man that had killed his Tony. When he killed one Thanos, he would select another, and he kept going, eventually getting lightheaded from the exertion. Even then, he tried to push through, and he eventually passed out of the floor of the arena.

He woke up to bright lights, murmuring voices, and a pounding head. He looked around, blinking to clear the spots from his vision, and saw people moving around him. He was pretty sure that he was in a hospital room, but he didn't know why. The last thing he was doing was... The arena. Valhalla. Tony . He tried to sit up, but a hand pushed him back down.

"Loki, don't you dare," Steve said sternly, glaring at him. "What the hell were you thinking? You stormed Valhalla, and when that didn't work, you stormed Asgard, and when that didn't work, you decided to literally fight yourself to death in the arena? Come on, Lokes, you know-"

"Don’t you dare call me that,” Loki hissed. “And it's not my fault that I'm the only one who has tried anything to get Tony back! I'm sorry that I can't just go on with my daily life like he never fucking existed like all of you seem to be able to do."

Steve pulled back, a hurt look on his face.

"I'm going to pretend that you didn't just say that," Steve said slowly. "You do know that we are all feeling the loss of Tony, we just have accepted the fact that we're not God. We can't bring him back, and, even if we could, who's to say that it would even be Tony that we bring back? I mean, you've seen the movies."

"Exactly! That's just fiction, but this is real life. If I could get into Valhalla, then I could figure out a way to bring him back, and then-" Loki said insistently, needing to believe that he was right, that he could save Tony, and Steve cut him off.

"And then what? This isn't what Tony would've wanted, you working yourself to death just because he's gone. We both know that he would've wanted you to-" Steve lectured, and that just made Loki even more upset.

"To- To what? Be happy? Live my life? How am I supposed to do that without him here? I- I don't- I can't-" Loki stammered, voice breaking. "I loved him, Steve. I loved him so much. I can't do this, any of this, without him."

"I know, Loki," Steve murmured softly, staring off into the distance. "I know."

VIBRATES AT MACH FREQUENCY I am so normal about Cana finally having her own space and making it her own after living at the guild, then becoming a ward under the care of the church before briefly rooming with Mira, and finally, she's on her own! She's Miss Independant™! No more curfew, no more rules, no more sneaking out to head to the bar or club, Cana's finally got her own place and she makes the rules! She will decide who she'll allow into her space, she will decide how to relax in her own space, to eat and sleep whenever she pleases and there's not a goddamn thing anyone can say or do to stop her!

Except...well. For so long, she was always in the company of her guildmates; whether it was with Mira and the Strauss siblings or Gray, she was with someone. And until that moment, Cana had never been on her own before. Not that she's worried! Not that she's afraid.

But, y'know, she wouldn't mind if Mira came over to check on her every now and then, and hey, Gray is her brother, she wouldn't let him sleep out on the streets or god forbid in the guild infirmary those goddamn beds are so fucking uncomfortable so obviously she would have made keys for them to come by whenever they wanted! There's no commitment, Cana wouldn't mind if they dropped by her place, just, y'know, mind the mess and don't expect to have anything in the fridge. But she wouldn't turn away anyone who needed a place to stay, just to crash or to just chill.

Cana wouldn't have asked any questions if they suddenly dropped by one day and just decided to crawl into her bed to sleep. Bad day? Long mission? Depression? She wouldn't ask. She would simply crawl in after them and hold them. Sometimes in rare instances, it would turn into a cuddle pile-- and depending on who needed the therapy most, the one who was in the middle would be the one who would be piled on-- and then you have Loke, who joined in late and wouldn't know how deep each of their relationships go or how they all connect to Cana, but nevertheless he easily fits into the fold and it becomes something so normal for Cana to have these people come into her home and settle in her bed, in her space to seek her out for comfort that it's something that she doesn't bother questioning anymore.

( Hint: it's them, it's all of them, they all trauma bond and they all rotate and share middle privileges)

Also while I'm on the subject-- because I know I mentioned this in a whole other fucking headcanon-- Cana and Gray are the first kids to bond together and use touch, specifically hugging and cuddling to cope with each other's trauma. While Cana is not the source of Gray's trauma and neither is he the same for her, they both understand firsthand what grief is, what it's like to have lost family and to survive heartache and tragedy and live with guilt. The two of them growing up together and deal with the stress and trauma of being orphans and as wards of the church-- which eventually turns into a sponsorship that Cana and Gray eventually negotiate with Makarov to become affiliates and eventually mages of Fairy Tail, they both learn each others triggers, what sets them off while learning the best way to calm them or bring them out of a dissociative episode.

And then the two of them using this knowledge when they go on missions together as a trio, when eventually Loke joins their missions and the three of them become closer; whether its during a mission, or if they crash at her place or just somewhere they can all rest together, the trio aren't shy about sharing skinship, of sharing physical touch and body contact while one is in distress.

Anyways, I am so normal about Cana's need for physical contact with those she trusts, I am so normal about her giving those she loves and trusts access to her space and making a point to give them keys I am So Fucking Normal about the fact that the people she allows into her space are the ones she trusts implicitly to keep her safe and secure when she is too weak, too vulnerable or fragile, are people who she would give everything for them, without question.
