i like to think that bruce clocks that superman and clark kent are the same person within two seconds of meeting the second one after having known the first for maybe a month or so. then, on the flip side, it would be SUPER FUNNY if batman and bruce wayne are SO DISTINCT that it then takes several years or possibly even a decade for clark to realize that batman is the same drunk idiot who once spilled a full glass of champagne onto clark's shoes and then offered to buy him a new pair, stating loudly "how much can a pair of shoes cost, three thousand dollars?"

no you don't get it I like superhero comics in a smart way. their long publication histories and self-conscious positioning as a deeply usamerican art form allows them to act as a fascinating time capsule for the cultural history of the united states. you pick up a superhero comic from even just a few decades ago and you get a snapshot into that time period's prevailing views on gender and race relations, nationalism, individualism, environmentalism, views on children, the contemporary relationship between writers/artists, their editors and the reading public, etc. and superhero franchises are so prevalent in usamerican children's media that they act as a shared cultural touchstone of childhood on a scale that few other things do, which results in them being loaded with all these frenetic youth interpretations that are later canonized as young readers become adult writers. it's the adolescence of a thousand people that has since become the thought experiment of a thousand adults. it fascinates me. also it has people in themed skintight spandex/leather outfits beating the shit out of each other which I like for sex pervert reasons

Watching YJ-s1e13 (Alpha Male) despite WHAT IF HE'S CRINGE instincts making me wary on the rewatch and I'm pleasantly surprised he's. NOT badly written. Like this is a Captain Marvel who's Mature. Who listens and responds and doesn't take orders but accepts them where needed. He gives advice calmly, without patronising tones, and it's pretty well received. Rambling under the cut!

Hmmm Fawcett shots. So Billy (or at least Dudley?) lives in a 3-4 tier residential area on a stroad? Pretty high end of middle class to me, ngl, would've expected cheaper. Captain Marvel in a normal house is so funny to see. I like how ABSOLUTELY UNPHASED Dudley is by him in 'work clothes' akjhdkjashd. ALSO. The lightning comes from within him it looks like? I'm sticking to orbital divine laser for him in my head. More funny. And makes indoor transformations a bit tougher!

Also... that's him that's my boy! THAT'S THE LIL GUY! He yawns and goes to bed right away. Eepy beepy needs his sleepy without the stamina of atlas. Maybe even because of it? Does being cap tire him out here???
