hiii can i request a jealous!regulus x reader where they are together but not really because they had a fight and haven’t talked in a week but there’s a party (slytherin common room bc they won a quidditch game) and reader is getting drunk and some guy (anyone but barty and evan, and snape obviously) comes up to her and starts to flirt and regulus sees that and gets super jealous so he steps in and gets all possessive
hi thank you so much for the request lovely <3
I have such a weak spot for possessive regulus it's unreal 😫
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Possessive
It had been a week. One very long, very silent week ever since you and your boyfriend, Regulus Black, fought. The argument was about something ridiculous, something minor that you couldn't even fathom to remember, but nevertheless you were stubborn, you refused to be the bigger, the more mature person and apologise to establish peace once more. Regulus was just as stubborn, perhaps more.
He would leave the room whenever you entered, he would change his usual seat in classes so he was not sat with you, he would do everything and anything in his attempt to make you succumb to his game and apologise weakly.
You knew his weakness however; it was obvious in the way that no matter what he did, what you did, his eyes of harsh blue would stare at you with a gaze that showed too much, showed his love for you, his care for you, but most of all, his unwilling desire to do anything for you.
So Regulus could act cold and distant all he wanted, but you knew that it was just that - an act.
The green walls and wooden floors thumped with the beat of the music as pure debauchery took place.
Parties after the Slytherin team won in Quidditch had created a reputation of being completely unpredictable, a scandal amongst the school. Anything could happen at these celebrations; anyone could drink too much, anyone could break the delicate and expensive decorations, anyone could fuck the wrong person in a completely wrong place.
Who could blame these Slytherins, their victories were things to be noted in history, with Regulus Black the centre focus.
It was thanks to him that the team would walk away with a trophy, and this time was no different.
You knew how quick and agile he was with a broom, you knew how focused he could be, how competitive the boy is.
However, you did not see the victory, did not watch the game. Much to Regulus' dismay, you were not in the stands with his initials painted on your cheeks in green and black, cheering louder than anyone else.
But you did show up for the party.
Of course, you wouldn't miss it, it was the party everybody longed for. You still wouldn't speak to him, not even sparing a glance his way. Yet his eyes were glued onto you, onto your tight-fitting clothes, onto your dark makeup, onto your devilish smile. Yes, he could pretend he did not care all he want, could act as if he was listening to Barty and Evan talking and joking next to him, but you knew he was wrapped around your finger, and deep down, he knew it too.
It had been an hour since you initially arrived, and all the alcohol you have downed easily had been slowly catching up to you. You had been growing tipsy, and Regulus was monitoring you to make sure you would not do anything you would regret in the morning.
Like talk to the pervert who had been staring you up and down all night with a gross smirk on his face.
Regulus knew him, unfortunately. Graham Peake. He knew that the boy had always been desperate to kiss you, to touch you. He wouldn't get the chance. He would never even know what it felt like to have your soft lips on his. Nobody else would ever know the feeling except Regulus Arcturus Black.
Graham had wrapped his hand around your upper arm, that stupid smirk remaining on his face as you turned around to face the stranger.
"Hi." He spoke, and you immediately rolled your eyes.
"Hi." You murmured back, taking another sip of your drink.
"You look very nice tonight." Graham grinned as if it was supposed to make you weak in the knees, but it couldn't, it would hilariously never.
You were getting a bit too tipsy to register how close he had gotten to you, only focused on Regulus and whatever he had disappeared to.
"Where's your boyfriend?" Graham tilted his head, sliding his hand slowly down your arm.
You shrugged, taking another sip of your drink whilst the boy opposite you only smirked wider.
"Hm, maybe I should take care of you tonight then?"
"Maybe you should leave her alone." Regulus appeared behind you with an intimidating glare, his jaw clenched as he stared down Graham.
"Oh, Regulus, I uh-"
"Wait, excuse me, let me fix my wording," Regulus shoved the cowering boy away, creating much-needed distance.
"Fuck. Off." He didn't usually swear, having been taught about how much of an abysmal habit it is to swear, but he only swore when he was really angry. He was a very polite person, so when Regulus Black swore, it never led to anything good.
Graham seemed to be frozen in place, shocked at how quick the situation unfolded in front of him. Regulus only raised an eyebrow and the coward hurried away, apologising profusely to you and Regulus as he walked away.
You smirked when you felt Regulus' hand rub your shoulder.
"Are you-"
"You know, you're cute when you're jealous." You turned around and wrapped your arms around his neck, beaming proudly whilst Regulus scoffed.
"I'm not jealous." He wrapped his arms around your waist in a possessive hold.
"Yes you are." You bit your lip as you leaned closer to the boy.
"Why would I be jealous of that idiot?" He spat, glaring at said idiot as Graham was sat hunched over by the fireplace.
"Hmm, maybe because you haven't talked to me all week?" You muttered, but Regulus heard, given how close the two of you were.
"You haven't talked to me either." Regulus pointed out as you pouted.
"I didn't talk to you 'cause you avoided me." You practically gave him puppy-dog eyes, knowing that it would make him surrender to the game he had created in the first place, drawing up the white flag.
Regulus sighed before he spoke.
"I'm sorry."
You grinned and pecked his cheek.
"I forgive you."
He smiled only slightly before returning his harsh gaze onto Graham.
"You know that you have nothing to worry about, right?" You caught his attention once more, Regulus staring at you with a loving gaze.
"I'm yours. Completely and utterly yours."
The boy grinned at that, not an arrogant grin but a smile of pride, of satisfaction.
"I know." He answered, pecking your forehead as you nuzzled his neck.
"I know just as much that I'm yours. Always have been." Regulus spoke softly as you tilted your head up and leaned in for a kiss.
He gave in, and kissed you passionately, grinning into the kiss as he knew Graham was watching pathetically.

@jegulus-microfic / february 6: murder / word count: 692 cw: consensual violence(?)
Regulus is having the shittiest day of his life. He started the day with a very detailed text from his lovely mother, reminding him of how much of a disappointment he is for dropping out of college to open a bar with his equally disappointing brother. Later, there was a mistake with the vodka delivery (it was not their usual brand), so he and Sirius had to make some awkward phone calls as the distributor refused to change it. Also, almost too late, they realised that all the ice in stock had melted during the night due to a power cut they weren't aware of, so he and Remus had to rush out to get more. The cherry on top was that the guy he was kind of seeing (mostly to fuck, if he's being honest) decided to get back with his ex, and the thing is, Regulus isn't angry or sad about it, because he saw it coming, but it adds up to the whole situation.
"You look like you're about to murder someone with that knife."
And now James Potter is here.
Everyone knows that if Regulus takes it upon himself to cut the limes, it is because he is at his limit and it is best to stay away. Everyone except James, who seems to have no sense of self-preservation.
"Are you volunteering?" he says without stopping what he is doing.
"Maybe I am. I'm sorry about Daniel, Sirius told me what happened."
"You know his name is Michael, James."
"Yeah, whatever. So what do you say if I help you blow off some steam?" he asks, leaning over the top of the bar.
Listen, Regulus knows he doesn't mean it like that, but he can't help but think of the older man in exactly that way. Blame it on the crush he has had on his brother's best friend for several years. So he just raises an eyebrow at him.
"Oh, I didn't mean it like that." James says after a moment. Is he smirking?
"Then what?"
"Have you ever heard of hurricane shots?"
"Of course, they ask Marlene and Dorcas for them all the time," he replies as he bends down to pick up some empty bottles. It's not rush hour yet, but it's important to get everything ready before then.
"Great, may I have one?"
"Sure, let me call Dorc-"
"From you. May I have one from you?" Regulus bumps his head on the counter as he stands up. James' idea to help him relax is going to give him a stroke.
"Sure." It's the only thing he says before the other man can say anything and he starts gathering what he needs for the shot. "Is vodka okay for your shot?" James just nods, but he can feel his eyes lingering as he pours the alcohol and the glass of water.
Regulus has never done this before but he knows the procedure, he sets everything down on the bartop and shortly afterwards he sits down on the edge of it, opening his legs to let James stand between them. His heart is racing but he looks up to remove the man's glasses (it would be a tragedy if they got ruined) and leaves them beside him. He hands the shot to his victim and rings the small bell they have for this purpose.
"Don't hold back." James says with that grin again as he places a hand on Regulus' thigh and promptly takes the shot, looking him in the eye. Oh, he hates him so much.
Regulus splashes him with the water and then slaps him.
He slaps him. Hard.
James shakes his head and runs a hand over his face to remove the water and his own hair from his forehead, then looks at him with an expression that can only be described as pure devotion, and Regulus knows it.
They kiss. Hard. In a way that only two idiots who have spent years pining for each other can do.
Cheers and shouts from the people in the bar. In the background, Sirius hands Remus some money.
"I knew it would work." Remus says.

Would you consider writing part two for the last Remus story? I can't deal with them not admitting they love each other and getting together 😭
poor little james blurb got put on hold for this but oh well!! thank you for requesting and i hope this makes up for the last blurb🖤
part one
.
Remus Lupin had come to realise that life was absolutely horrible and pointless without you in it.
It had been almost a month since you walked away from him in the library, and Remus didn’t think his life could get much worse than seeing you not even look back at him but did. He was forced to confront the habits he gained over the years of your friendship.
He would prepare a cup of coffee in the morning for you, only to realise you were on the other side of the Great Hall.
He would excitedly rush to your dorm to tell you about a book he just read, only to be told by one of your roommates that you were out for the night.
He would hear your laugh in between classes or in the corridors, and his head would be snapping around to see if he could even catch a glimpse of your smile.
Remus Lupin was miserable without you and everyone could see that.
James and Sirius had tried to cheer him up. Lily had tried to coax him on weekends out to Hogsmeade. Marlene and Dorcas had even tried their fair hand in trying to get a peak of the old Remus back, but it was useless.
It was Mary who had the idea of trying to get the two of you to reconcile. However, approaching you was never going to work considering the fact you weren’t talking to any of them either. And they doubted Regulus would be any help in persuading you into talking to them.
It left only one reasonable option—trapping the two of you in a room until you worked out your differences.
Remus was easy enough to convince. It felt a bit dodgy to be using his general exhaustion from the full moon that just passed against him, but he didn’t put up much of a fight as they led him towards the Quidditch closet out by the field. You were a little more difficult, but it didn’t mean they hadn’t managed to do much, your fists pounding on the door the second you heard the lock click.
But it was useless. You were trapped.
And then you turned around, finding Remus sat on the floor with his back pressed against the wall. There were dark bags under his eyes and his cheeks looked a little more sunken in that they usually did after a full moon. He looked paler and you noted the new scar slashed across his cheek, fresh and not fully healed yet.
“Oh.”
But he didn’t say anything. He just looked at you. Partly because he was convinced he was imagining it and partly because he was scared that if he opened his mouth, he would ruin the first chance he had to see you in weeks.
You squirmed a little under his intense gaze, turning to try and shove the door open a few more times. But with no wand and your non-verbal spellcasting skills amatuer at best, you were forced to accept your fate.
You settled on the floor, leaning against the wall across from him so you were forced to meet his gaze. Neither one of you said anything at first and it felt wrong. It was rare you didn’t know what to say to each other, and in the moments where silence did fall, it was nothing but comfortable.
But this was tense, awkward even. And neither of you knew how to navigate it.
Much to both of your surprise, it was Remus who spoke first.
“I’m sorry,” he started and you froze, unsure if he had actually spoken or if you imagined it. But when you lifted your head, his eyes were wide and pleading and you knew you heard him correctly.
“Remus—”
“I’m so fucking sorry,” he continued, cutting you off and you pressed your lips together as you listened to him. “I did trust you,” he said before pausing to correct himself. “I do trust you. And I’m sorry I never told you—”
“Why didn’t you?” you asked, your voice so small you almost didn’t recognise yourself.
“I was protecting—”
“The real reason, Remus,” you said sternly. “Give me the truth, I at least deserve this.”
He let out a shaky breath, his eyes falling to focus on the ground between his feet as he spoke. “People’s opinions of me change when I tell them my secret,” he confessed. “Even if they don’t mean for it to, it does. It happened with the boys, it happened with Lily and Dorcas and Mary and Marlene. The few professors that know, it changed their perspective too. I hate it.”
You didn’t say anything.
“I hate the pitying looks they give me after a full moon, I hate the way they treat me like I’m about to shatter into a million pieces,” he muttered with a bitter laugh, before he lifted his head and looked at you. “I couldn’t see that with you. The others…I could deal with but I didn’t want you to change how you saw me. I didn’t want you to stop looking at me like I was worth something.”
You swallowed the emotions that laid thick in the back of your throat. “Remus, I could never.”
“But you did,” he said with a grim smile. “And it is my fault you did so.”
“Because you were a self-deprecating idiot who should have realised I knew all along,” you murmured and gave him a soft smile, and something like hope flared in his chest.
“That I am,” he admitted with a nod. “I’m sorry, love.”
“You and those puppy dog eyes are too hard to resist, Lupin,” you grumbled as you shuffled across the small closet, making your way towards him until you were straddling his lap. “I’m still angry at you.”
Remus' face fell a little but he nodded. “I understand.”
“But I still love you so I get to do this,” you murmured and before he could even process what was happening, you were grabbing his face in your hands and pressing your lips against his.
Remus melted into your touch instantly, his arms winding around your waist and pulling your body down until you were fully situated on his lap. He kissed you back eagerly, his tongue darting out to lick and tease you like he had been dreaming of doing since he knew what the feelings he had meant. He let out a small whimper when you nipped his lip, a noise that only got louder when you pulled away.
“You’re a fucking idiot, Remus,” you whispered, your forehead pressed against his. “But you’re my idiot.”
“And I’ll spend the rest of my life making up for my stupidity as long as you keep calling me yours, love,” Remus whispered back, lifting his head to peck your lips. “I love you too.”

i still remember your order. || callisto regulus.
Tumblr media
Callisto still remembers the day he fell in love with you.
It was the brightest day of summer, the sun was boiling hot, the sky a crystalline blue, and all of the plants either bright green or dull brown. He was incredibly irritated, having dealt with the nobles and their ceaseless list of complaints, then running into his stepmother and being forced to listen to her endless tirade.
They're all so bothersome. He thought to himself, trying to contain his anger and frustration. Annoying.
He decided that he'd take some time off in town to cool down his temper. He'd been working so hard for the past week, he deserved it; and so he dropped off a curt message to Cedric to finish up the paperwork for the new school they were organizing to open in the village - "Your Highness! You can't just run off like that-!" - and then headed downtown.
He'd only gone a few steps into the market, feeling the tension in his muscles unwind and letting out a deep sigh as he relaxed, when he heard a very, very familiar voice.
"Callisto! Hi!"
He turned and had scarcely a moment to process... well, anything, before you - a sweet student who had once healed his wounds - tackled him in a crushing hug. People stopped to openly stare and he threatened them with his eyes before ruffling your hair.
"Good afternoon." He responded, good naturedly. "I see that the summer heat has failed to lower your energy."
"And you're as grouchy as ever," You counter, frowning at him. You're the only person he allows to talk to him like that - if it was anyone else, he would have separated their head from their shoulders a long time ago. Slipping your hand into your pocket, you offer, "I was going to get myself a drink, if you're willing to come along?"
He considers the proposal before agreeing with a shrug. It's not like he has anywhere else to be. "Alright."
As you two make your way to the nearest little café, his thoughts wander back to when your way-too-cheerful presence actually became tolerable to him, actually became something he looked forward to. He had met you when an assasination attack had caught him off-guard, and though he'd managed to kill them, his wounds were just a little bit too deep. He'd staggered into the more remote parts of the village, fighting against his pounding head, when he'd stumbled into you. You'd given only one shriek of surprise before he'd shut your mouth with one of his satin black gloves, mumbling at you to not 'cause a ruckus' before promptly passing out.
You'd managed to haul him to your cozy little house, somehow, with much groaning and cursing. You had then set yourself, rather determinedly, to the task of healing him, and even though it had taken you three hours whole, you had done it.
Callisto had woken up in your small, comfortable bedroom, hazy and dazed. He'd wondered why the walls were wooden instead of smooth white marble, why the bedsheets were cotton instead of pure silk, and why on Earth there was a small, sleepy commoner dozing off at the foot of the bed with a bottle of medicine swinging from her hand.
"Oi, you. Wake up."
You had stirred and then abruptly sitten up, as though remembering who was there with you. "Your Highness. Are you feeling alright?"
"Yes, but... were you the one who healed me?"
You had laughed. "Yes, sorry to disappoint you."
He rouses himself from the memory as you push open the door to the little café. He doesn't quite understand why his heartbeat speeds up, why he nervously watches you ask for your drink as though it's an exact science, why his stomach seems to be performing somersaults by just looking at you.
You order casually and without event — a milk tea with sugary pearls and extra sugar — and he orders a matcha tea with honey and milk.
The hot milk and warm honey remind him of himself. You take a sip of your drink and look so delighted that he wonders if he can ever make you look happier than you are right now and then resolves to try his best. Desperate to say something but not knowing what to say, he says, "Your drink looks sweet. That fits."
You flush pink and grin at him.
That look on your face is one he'll never forget.
——
'So, Your Majesty ordered a matcha tea with honey and milk, along with a milk tea with chocolate sugar pearls and extra sugar, is that right?'
Callisto nods. The first drink — matcha tea with honey and milk — isn't necessarily his favorite, but he orders it out of habit everytime he comes by to this place. The woman behind the counter places both drinks on the table, and the little girl in his lap begins to squirm and reaches for your drink with small chubby hands.
"No, silly," He chides his daughter, "that's for mama, remember? You're too small."
The woman makes a sound of surprise and looks abashed as he glances up, but he only explains, "She's only a few months old. Choking hazard."
She laughs but gives a solemn nod. "Yes, it's bad for the baby princess."
Callisto smiles and thanks her before stepping outside, wanting to get home and surprise you with the drink as soon as possible.
The summer is still bright as ever.

There's no need to hide
Word count: 1009 words James/Regulus. First wizarding war AU (they're both stuck together in the same safe house)
⋆。°✩˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗⋆。°✩
“No, this won’t do.” James stands up, “We are not spending today of all days moping.”
“We’re not moping, we’re just talking.” Regulus replies, slightly indignant.
“All we ever talk about are big, sad, mushy feelings.” James dramatically flails his hands around, almost as if shooing the sentiment away.
“Big, mushy, feelings.” Regulus repeats, he tries to sound offended but the tug on his lips says otherwise.
“Well yeah, everyone you know thinks you’re dead, terribly sorry we can’t do anything about that by the way. And me, well, where the fuck do we start, you know?”
Regulus looks back at him, slowly blinking. the sickly yellow lightbulb casting down its shadows.
He doesn’t need to think about that right now.
He just needs something to fill the noise.
The air was filled with the sense of slight delirium. Nothing felt real. Nothing had consequence. James felt like he could run away, sprint off into the fields and pretend the last twenty two years of his life were a lapse of chemicals his mind made up in a haze.
The depression that hung over him all week threatened to spill into hysterical exuberance. But James didn’t care, it’s been so long since he had someone near him, someone that wasn’t decades older than him. Someone that talked to him, not just through him. Someone that didn’t expect him to be something he wasn’t.
He’ll let himself get drunk on whatever endorphins his body, for whatever reason, was dishing out.
He just needs something to fill the noise.
“Look James, maybe we should call it a night-“
“Nonsense! It’s your birthday, we’re staying up. We’re transforming some stale bread into equally stale cake. We’re playing music your obnoxious little self wouldn’t be caught dead listening to, and we’re dancing.”
He taps his wand. The tinny radio spluttered to life. The glittery synths were scratchy and soft. It filled the room instantly.
Regulus looks back horrified, his eyes widened.
He stretches his hand out for Regulus to take.
Regulus stares down at it, then back at James’ face “Oh no, absolutely not.”
“Oh c’mon, I used to do this all the time with Peter.”
“Is that all what you four did all day? dance around with each other?”
“Mostly, amongst other things. The worst of us was Remus, man had two left feet and fingernails like talons.” he fondly remembers the way Remus’ grip dug into his shoulders and ‘Moony, can you for the love of everything try and be less rigid’ while everyone else in the common room cheered them on, well, mostly Sirius.
Regulus snorts, “I should’ve known. And to think of all the time I wondered what on earth you people did.”
“Well, we had to, the marauders couldn’t embarrass themselves in front of the ladies.”
James’ hand was still outstretched. He wiggled his fingers again, “Come on. Can’t you just humor me?”
“You know it’s my birthday, you should be humoring me.” Still, something in his expression softens - he sighs, unfolds his arms, and carefully places his hand into James’ own.
The soft music and layered vocals had filtered throughout the room. The noise of it seemingly amplified in the tiny living room.
James slowly put his hand on Regulus’ shoulder - the unexpected warmth that rushed through him made him pause. He realizes, this was the first time he’s touched another person in months.
(Eight months to be exact, the last time he saw Marlene, drenched in black hoods at an Order meeting. She gave him a full body hug and squeezed all the oxygen out of him.)
Still, he slides his other hand across Regulus’ palm. The song playing was by a muggle band he didn’t recognize - a ditzy little number, all dreamy sounds and far away vocals. The shimmering effect the night held seemed to surge as they swayed.
It was awkward at first, as it always is. Clutching to each other’s shoulders in a frigid way that even Remus would realize was painful. That was until James, in his delirious state of glee started adding twists and turns left and right, loosening both of them up.
Regulus followed his every move, surprisingly fluid and confident in a way his posture never was. They both slowly started to laugh with every unnecessary kick or turn they flourished as they moved across the kitchen floor. This wasn’t a formal dance in any sense of the word, bouncing around like fools across the linoleum tiles.
It’s been a long time since he felt like this. Young, stupid, and full of bravado. Of course, now it was tinged with the haziness of all what’s broken his heart over and over, night after night. But it was still there, a flickering light in the dark. On and off. He silently pleaded with whoever was handling it to not click it off just yet.
“Okay, you have to stop before I start to vomit,” Regulus raises his voice over the bellowing music, a woman singing about hot stuff.
“We’ve both had nothing all day, nice try though!”
“Have you ever seen a cat dry heave?”
James laughs. He slows his tempo down back to a sway.
“Alright, we’re slowing down, only because it’s your birthday. Otherwise we would’ve been spinning off the patio,”
Regulus promptly ignores him. “Wasn’t there a promise of cake during your little speech?”
“Stale cake.” James corrects. “and i can only manage sweetened white bread, with bits of frosting.”
“I’ve had worse meals,” Regulus replies
“I bet you did,” James smiles back.
They come to a stop as the last seconds of the song play, another already fading in.
They both found themselves a few moments later hunched over a piece of incredibly stale, possibly moldy bread. Both throwing every bit of transfiguration spell they had in their arsenal. The result was a dried-out, but surprisingly pretty piece of yellow sponge cake. James had taken bits of milk and transfigured it into real looking icing, which coated the sides in swirls and peaks.

꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡
Welcome to canon couples in my DR
(don't take this personally, it's just my opinion)
1) Pandora Rosier x Lily Evans
Pandora "my family told me my dreams are just dreams" Rosier x Lily "Well, my family taught me to follow my dreams" Evans
• this couple is the absolute cutest, two goddess queens both learning they have feelings for each other
• Pandora grew up with an evil family and felt she should be kind, she sees kindness as her only real superpower, not being psychic . Pandora being proud of lily for seeing the good in not only the people around her but herself
• Lily grew up judged for her blood type, sometimes she still does worry if she's being judged but Pandora quickly likes to help her see the light, that she doesn't see lily any different
• Pandora loves to talk and gush about lily to regulus while lily loves to talk and gush about Pandora to Benjamin (me) (speaking in first person so I feel like a character and therefore apart of the marauders lol)
2) Dorcas Meadowes x Marlene McKinnon
• classic badass lesbian couple
• started out as academic rivals despite both being in Slytherin
• "I scored an A+ dork." "groans. for now you have McKinnon. But that charms test is mine."
• Dorcas likes to play basketball, and she plays it rough. Marlene just watches with a bucket of popcorn, cheering her girlfriend on with a smug grin whenever Dorcas punches someone's face in
• Marlene growing up to have internal homophobia and Dorcus helping her see their love is real, and love is love
• On their anniversary night, Marlene gifts Dorcas a real rare dragon that Dorcas has no idea how she got, Marlene replies with a simple "I have my ways"
• while Dorcas checks the collar of the dragon, she notices the locket open and inside a diamond ring. when she turns around, Marlene is on one knee with arms spread open
"marry me dork?"
3) Mary Macdonalds x Evan Rosier
• stone head x hopeless romantic
• they meet in the library while Mary is reading a novel and Evan is selling cocaine to a customer, he realizes she saw and approaches her, attempting to suave her into not telling "Romeo and Juliet huh?" he asks, Mary raises an eyebrow "this is Macbeth." she replies making him freeze up, she smiles "don't worry, I won't tell", he smiles back "cool"
• he tries to get her to try drugs a little but she refuses with a burning passion, after a few months go by he stops taking drugs cause he wants to be better for her
• after mary gets dumped by yet another boyfriend, she feels undesirable and goes to evan to find solace. Evan listens to her every word with a burning sensation in his chest, he comforts her up close, rubbing her back.
"I want to be someone's first choice, Evan"
"....you are mary." he whispers, she frowns
"no no- I know what you mean. I'm not his first choice." she says, Evan frowns
"you're someone's first choice," he replies, but he's not brave enough to say "you're my first choice"
• after a few months together, she's reading a romantic novel to him and gushing, talking about fanfiction and he just listens with a smile on his face. "and then he lifts her chin up and kisses her!! ahh! so romantic!" she squeals and Evan smiles before it fades, before he can rethink, he's lifting her chin up, getting close and pressing his lips to hers. they separate after awhile and he notices her wide eyes, he smiles sheepishly
• "you're my first choice, Marian."
4) Sirius Black x James Potter
• the definition of ultimate bromance
• started off with them making fun and teasing other couples, even going as far as kissing and hugging each other, but both secretly start to like it
• they're best friends to lovers, Sirius enjoys Remus company sure but no one quite understands his chaotic-ness like James does, a lover and a best friend is the best you can get right?
• they're running down the halls after pranking Severus Snape again before they see professor McGonagall walking straight down the hallway, they panic and hide in a small secluded area trying not to breath each other's air
• "well, it seems we've found each other in a tight situation" James replies with a grin making Sirius grin back "good one James" he retorts playfully
• they stay there for awhile and notice McGonagall is gone, but both seemed to like...being up close. they wouldn't tell each other that though
• extreme slow burn, Sirius isn't the one with internal homophobia. anything his parents is against, he fully supports so gay rights is his middle name. James is the one who has to deal with the conflict, he's undoubtedly sure his parents will support him but he still struggles
• I also feel like they're the same but in different fonts lol, like they'll look at a situation and think "should we?" and the other is like "definitely"
5) Remus lupin x Barty Crouch Jr
come on now
Remus "I'm a fucking werewolf, does that not bother you?" Lupin " x Barty "I have dreamt of this moment my entire life. Crush me now." Crouch Jr
• they're damn chaotic. barty regularly tries to set a building on fire and Remus is behind him 'trying' to stop him but secretly adds more gasoline
• they bring out each other's worse in the best way that you can't help but see the appeal
• definition of "partners in crime" except the crime is getting James to admit his feelings to Sirius but he is in EXTREME denial
• Barty growing up in a household similar to an orphanage, too many kids around and the only way he felt noticed was by being a little gremlin
• Remus who actually grew up in orphanage but did the same although soon realizes those people weren't his parents and stopped trying to get their attention or approval
• both understand each other in a deeper way
• they also have nasty sex LMAO
• they're both tall, semi strong and extremely dominant. if your dorm is across from them, and you hear screams of agony and things crashing into the walls, don't worry they're just making love <3
• masochism tango is their song, I'm calling it
• they're a healthy couple emotionally and mentally guys, they just a little kinky physically 🤭
god I ship them with a burning passion, you cannot take them away from me 😭😭😭

Sugar in a coffee
(James Potter / Regulus Black | 317 words)
For @jegulus-microfic prompt: coffee
“Reg! Reggie!” James bursts into the room wide grin on his face. As soon as he spots Regulus, he basically runs to him. He jumps over the back of the sofa landing at Regulus’ legs. “Here is the love of my life. How are you? How was your day?” James asks before Regulus can fully comprehend his arrival the boy presses a kiss to his lips. His lips taste unusually sweet.
“I'm good. How are you?” Regulus asks. James moves to sit up gesturing with his hands widely as he describes his day to perfect detail changing topics that it takes Regulus strong concentration to keep up. Not even to mention that he is talking twice faster than normal.
"You are awfully cheerful that you were supposed to study the whole day.” Regulus squirms his eyes at him.
James grins at him. “Oh, I was getting tired, so Sirius gave me a coffee. And it didn't work so he gave me another one! But Reg...” James makes a face. “It tasted horrible. How can you drink it regularly?! You drink a lot of coffee. But I like the smell in our kitchen. And watching you there. Anyway, it was horrible, but I put a lot of sugar there and it was fine. Do you also drink coffee with sugar? I just realized I don't know. How come I don't know? Does it make me a bad boyfriend? I don't want you to think I'm a bad boyfriend. But I think you don't drink it with sugar...” James keeps talking and Regulus wonders if he is even breathing. He reaches for his phone nodding towards James as a sign he is still listening. He dials his brother's number.
“Sirius Orion Black, I'm gonna kill you.” he hisses as soon as Sirius picks up the phone.
Sirius laughs. “Looks like James got home.”
“Dead,” Regulus says and hangs up.

Bring the Lion Out
Inspired by a tiktok from @r.a.b_enthusiast ! Thank you
Tumblr media
Regulus feels the bed dip signaling that James is getting up now. They have a game today and James likes to head to the pitch early to get some extra practice before breakfast. Regulus is about to get up too when he hears the curtain slide across the rod shut. Sirius’s muffled voice on the other side has him straining his ears to listen.
“Okay I got the sound system set up!”
“Shhe, he is still sleeping.” James hisses back.
Regulus drops his head back and rolls his eyes. Those two couldn't be quiet even when they tried.
“I know! You just have to convince him to have Slytherin to go first and then when you go on the pitch I’ll play the song.” Sirius whispers back still at the same volume.
“Wicked!” James says a little louder before Sirius shushes him again.
Regulus presses his lips together in thought but hearing the shifting on the other side of the curtains he quickly settles back down in the bed before the curtain can be pulled back again. James kisses him goodbye and he pretends to stir awake.
“Going to practice?” He mumbles letting his voice get extra thick and sleepy like James likes.
James grunts a forced cough and shakes his head, “Yea love, I’ll see you on the pitch!” He turns to go and Regulus lets himself enjoy the view before quickly tossing back and covers and rushing to get dressed. He has to find Evan and Barty.
[]
“No worries Reggie, we can find it and change the music.” Barty crosses his arms across his chest and leans back against the stone walls.
Evan stares at his shoes, hands in his pockets, deep in thought. “Yea we could put something stupid on instead….”
“No,” Regulus cuts in. “I want to play our own song first. We have to pick something good though and then they can play whatever they have planned.”
Evans' eyes sparkle as he meets Regulus’s gaze. “I have the perfect song!”
[]
In the locker room the teams are getting ready. James nudges Regulus with his shoulder as he comes over to sit on the bench with him.
“Ready?” James asks as he helps Regulus buckle the last of his guards.
“As I ever will be.” He says, he can't meet James’s eye at the moment. He settles with nudging him back with his shoulder.
James leans in to kiss him but Regulus doges easily, “No kissing before games.” He smacks him on his arm guard.
James laughs easily, “Right, right, I forgot. Hey, why don't you guys get out there? I need a minute with the team.”
Regulus holds back a huge grin that threatens to spill over. “Sure. Slytherins lets go!” He calls. As Captain Regulus makes sure everyone is lined up, he brings up the rear.
James calls his team over and begins his usual Captains speech. It fades out as he watches the doors close behind Regulus. “Alright team! Remember just like we practiced! We let them get out on the pitch and then we go out when Peter starts the music!”
“This is going to be epic!” Sirius is beaming.
Out on the stands the grounds vibrate with a low hum, beautiful and haunting. The hum carries across the pitch and sends a shiver through everyone in the stands.
The lyrics start off soft but slowly build as the chorus begins. Everyone is confused at first,
“Bring the lion out
Bring the, bring the lion out
Bring the lion out
Bring the, bring the lion out”
Gryffidors stand erupts in cheers, clapping and screaming.
“(Ooh) bring the lion out”
The first Slytherin takes off into the sky.
“(Ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out”
The second one kicks off the ground circles alongside the first.
“(Ooh-ooh) bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out”
Slythrin’s stand starts cheering. Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws look around confused.
“(Ooh-ooh) bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out”
The fourth player kicks off and the rest of the team can be seen from the ground. The stands are rumbling with the vibrations from the song and the students pounding their firsts on their seats to the beat.
“(Ooh-ooh) bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out”
Regulus stands in his Quidditch leathers. His hood over his head. He casts a terrifying figure, stalking onto the pitch in tempo with the beat. His molten silver eyes sharp and imposing. He holds a fist up in the air as the whole pitch erupts in chants with the music.
“(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out”
Finally Regulus kicks off into the sky flying around the pitch with his team.
“(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the lion out
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) bring the, bring the lion out”
James and the Gryffindor team stand waiting their turn looking around confused.
“Well what the fuck!” Sirius snaps.
“Wait,” Marlene says, “I don't get it. Why would they use that song?”
James is partially impressed but also pissed that his darling boyfriend stole their idea. “Because Regulus is the lion.” Marlene squints at the sky still confused. “He is named after a star, the Lion’s Heart.” Her jaw drops in realization. Regulus managed to play a song to confuse the Gryffindor team into cheering for the Slytherins too. By the time the students realized what was happening their boos were drowned out by the other three houses cheering.
Peter must have been able to figure out how to switch the song and Queen starts playing but it is too late. The Gryffindor's do their best to keep the momentum going but by then only the Gryffindors are stomping and clapping along.

(If you're not comfortable with ask games, feel free to ignore)
When you get this, list 5 songs you like to listen to, publish them, and send this ask to the last 10 people in your notifs!
@not-so-empty-sekai (side blog)
your art is so good btw :3
Oh? A song ask-chain game? Sounds fun! :Dc
Hmmm. Okay, how about this!
I’ll list 5 songs that are pjsk songs (since I’ve been listening to them a lotttt), and 5 other songs that aren’t pjsk related, to mix things up a bit! >:3c
Okay? Nice~
Let’s gooooo!!! (List under the cut)
Side Note: Thank you for saying my art is good! It made my day! >///<
PJSK Songs that I listen to~
1. Bake no Hana
youtube
Of course this song is gonna make it into the list! Because ever since Mizu5, I’ve just been listening to this every dayyyy :’)
Mizu5 wreaked me emotional for reals, for realssss ;v;
2. Ultra C
youtube
I’m so proud of vbs for finally surpassing RAD Weekend! It was such a good event, and an even banger song! The moment where Miku gave one last encouragement to Kohane? So good. Ahhh! Of course the scene afterwards where vbs when to visit Nagi’s grave! Ahhhhh! It punched me in the guts! In a good way tho! TvT
3. Watashi Wa Ame
youtube
I know it’s a joke that all of Ena’s events are about her struggles as an artist, and while it’s true. I do think they mix it up enough and show Ena’s character growth throughout it super well. And this event is the prime example of that.
Her getting insight of what her father struggled with as an artist. Ena learning how she was the main inspiration for his father’s possible last painting. How he sees her as a hope of light in his darkest times. How he genuinely loves and wants to protect her (albeit not in the greatest way as we all know). And how she grew so much in both understanding and confidence to understand her father’s intentions.
It’s such a really nice event for me that also got me emotional. Also the song is so gooddddd~ *v*
4. Regulus
youtube
Yepppp, a Leo/Need song! It’s such a banger!
While I’m not that well versed on Leo/Need compared to N25 and VBS, I did read Honami’s stories (look, my adhd brain be hopping around the storyline like crazy whenever i gets attached to a character lol)
And i just gotta say, I’m so proud of Honami! She has definitely grown so much since the main story.
Her initially lacking the confidence to make a decision due to her anxiety, fears, and people pleasing tendencies. (that caused her to initially be distant from her closest friends, and caused her to be depressed during that time)
To now. Being confident to speak truthfully about her feelings and standing up for herself and Leo/Need (seen in the Little Braver event). And now she’s an offical leader of Leo/Need! Ahhhh! So proud of her! >v<
5. Watashi Wa, Watashitachi Wa
youtube
Bang! A More More Jump song to finish off this list! >:Dc
And once again, I’m not as well versed in the MMJ, but my adhd brain did get attached to Shizuku, hence me reading the her event stories (i still have read Shizu4 yet tho… •3•;)
But anyway! I absolutely love this song and the event that is associated with it. It’s such a good way for Shizuku to face her past and show how much she has grown and is willing to be more proactive to be the best idol she can be, as herself.
It also gave more insight what happened during her time in Cheerful*Days and how the rift between the members began. Fleshing out the members and showing a more complex situation than a simple jealousy situation at first glance.
And like the song is so catchy and hopeful, a perfect song that embodies Shizuku’s determination. :3c
Oh shoot. That took longer than expected uhhhh… Rapid fire non-pjsk song list, go!
Non-PJSK Songs:
1. 雨乙女 (Ameotome)
youtube
2. Sing The Moon
youtube
3. Yubikiri Genman
youtube
4. ThoughtCrime
youtube
5. いばら (Ibara)
youtube

December 22nd, 1972
As the days grew closer to Winter Break, the more withdrawn Sirius became. None of them dared touch the subject of his family, though they all knew the unspoken truth of everything. Leading up to day of their departure, they all made it a point to cheer Sirius up at any cost; whether that meant James taking him out for quidditch practice more often, or her and Remus skipping their scheduled library time in lieu of listening to records in the Gryffindor Common Room. Peter found it harder than the rest, trying his best to help distract his friend. The two were like oil and water sometimes, Sirius frequently becoming annoyed with Pete over trivial things such as chess moves, quidditch rules, and (most ardently) opinions on David Bowie (Pete seemed to think he was ‘too flashy’, preferring the likes of Bob Dylan when it came to muggle music). One person that didn’t have a difficult time distracting Sirius seemed to be Mary, of whom he was beginning to spend more and more time with. Mary was sweet, funny, and absolutely gorgeous, so it only made sense that she would set her sights on one of the fittest boys in their year. She began to sit with them during meals, sandwiched between Sirius and her best friend Marlene. When the topic of quidditch came up (which it always did), Mary would sigh and set her golden-brown eyes across the table to her and Remus. The three of them talked about muggle music, books, and movies. Mary was muggle-born as well, and she immediately felt a kinship; it also helped that Mary was extremely opinionated and not afraid to vocalize it, putting Sirius in his place a few times before winter break started. She liked Mary a lot, so why was there a dull ache in her chest whenever Sirius smiled at her?
Going home for Christmas was harder than before, and she could only assume it would get worse as the years spent at Hogwarts went on. It’s not that she didn’t miss her parents, but the muggle world didn’t fascinate her anymore; there was no wonder, or mystery, or…spark. She wanted nothing more than to stay in Scotland, surrounded by the tall castle walls, vibrating with magic stretching back hundreds of years. Jealousy peaked its head in when she thought of her friends getting to go home to magical households, only to be quickly shut away as she remembered the scars Sirius had shown her on his birthday. She thought of Remus’ parents, and the cage they kept him in both metaphorically and physically. At least her parents were supportive, at least they loved her.
As they arrived at King’s Cross, she bid her friends goodbye, lingering back with Remus as he scanned the platform for his parents. She waved at the sight of her dad peaking over a family of young wizards towards the back of the crowd.
“Oh! before you go, I have something for you,” he said, a hint of excitement in his voice as he bent down to rummage through his bag.
“Remus,” her tone was one of faux disappointment, “you really shouldn’t have gotten me anything, I don’t need—“
He thrust a small book into her hands, smiling shyly at her.
She ran her fingers over the smooth leather cover, flipping it open to reveal its heavyweight cream colored pages.
“A sketchbook,” she breathed, “Oh Remus, it’s wonderful! Thank you!”
“It’s not just any sketchbook, watch,” he said, pulling out his wand. He tapped a page twice, and the inked words started to appear.
If you ever need me, I’m always within reach. - RL
She looked up at him, mouth hanging open in shock.
“Just write something, and tap twice with your wand,” he held up an identical book, “I’ll get it on my end.”
Her eyes started to fill with tears and she pulled him into a bone-crushing hug, “This is amazing, this is the best gift anyone has ever given me,” she whispered, face buried into the side of his neck.
“It’s just a modified Aparecium charm and—“
“—shut up. It’s perfect,” she cut him off, refusing to allow him to undermine his own genius.
They lingered in the embrace, until Remus caught sight of his parents on the platform.
“I’ve gotta go—“ he whispered, and she didn’t need to look up to know they were watching. Swallowing the sinking feeling in her stomach, she pushed the need to ask what Remus was so afraid of into the back of her mind. Releasing him, she glanced down at the sketchbook and smiled, “You don’t have an excuse to not write me this time, Remus Lupin.”
———
For the first time in two years, Remus wrote her almost every day. The sketchbook was practically glued to her person, scribbling down responses frantically and giggling softly to hide the correspondence. The constant contact made the Hogwarts-sized hole in her heart a little smaller.
Maybe she was delusional, or just going mad, but it almost seemed like Remus was opening up more through their new mode of communication. Never one for heartfelt talks, or expressing his emotions openly in general, Remus tended to keep a lot hidden, something she had (for the most part) grown used to. The sketchbook had created a proverbial security blanket, allowing him to feel comfortable enough to begin to share bits and pieces of insight into his mysterious home-life. His mom was sick, something he confided in her on Christmas Day. The doctors weren’t sure what it was, but she had good days and bad.
Christmas was bad. Remus didn’t respond until the following afternoon.
He said that another doctor came to the house and gave her some medicine to help her sleep, and his dad had left shortly afterwards in a state of anger, something Remus was relieved about. When pressed further, Remus wrote back about how his mother (who she now knew as Hope) was refusing magical intervention, and would only allow muggle doctors into the house. Ever since his accident when he was little, Remus said she had become wary of magic.
The admission brought her closer to him, hoping that maybe now they would be able to communicate more effectively in the future and avoid any silent standoffs like before.
In addition to Remus, she also wrote letters to the other three. She only ever heard back from two.
———
The steam from the engine was making her eyes water as she hung out of the compartment window. Remus, James, and Peter sat behind her, talking amongst themselves as she searched the emptying platform for the final member of the party. A glimpse of black hair caught her peripheral, snapping her head to see Regulus stepping onto the train. Off to the side, was Walburga, arms crossed and lips in her trademark scowl as she watched her youngest son board the Hogwarts Express.
Sirius was nowhere to be seen.
She quickly pushed back through the window, stepping over Remus’ long legs to scamper out into the corridor.
“Oi!” James called, leaping up to peer out after her.
She pushed through the students lingering outside of the other corridors, looking for the younger Black brother. She didn’t get far before he emerged from the other car, shouldering past her without so much as a glance.
“Reg!” She called, spinning quickly towards him, “Where’s Sirius?”
Regulus turned around slowly, his grey eyes dissecting her, “He’ll be late.”
What the fuck did that mean? The train left in 2 minutes.
He turned back around, head cocking over his shoulder as he started walking away, “…and don’t ever presume to speak to me again, mudblood.”
She felt the blood leave her face. If she wasn’t so concerned for Sirius, she might’ve said something, but instead headed back towards her compartment, pale and anxious.
———
The train ride to Hogwarts was weird. James didn’t know what to do with himself without his best friend to conspire with. Remus was quietly reading for the majority of the ride, only pausing to speak with the others about new developments in the war when James brought it up.
That’s what they were calling it now: a war.
James told them about the secret meetings being held at his house over the break, the coming and going of powerful wizards including Dumbledore himself. Voldemort was gaining power, apparently amassing more and more followers by the day. Beside her on the bench, Peter shuddered.
“Alright?” She nudged him gently.
He offered a sheepish smile, “Yeah, sorry. Things have been…difficult at home. Mum’s getting called out at all hours of the night, Dad comes home from work so exhausted every day that he’s like a walking corpse. It’s just…scary to hear about everything…”
She passed him her last chocolate frog, a small gesture that she knew couldn’t make up for the fear and anxiety, but it was all she could offer at the moment.
The carriage ride to the castle consisted of James and Peter’s frantic quidditch analysis, with her and Remus both staring out the rainy window in silence. Once inside the Great Hall, they diverged, forced to separate to their respective house tables. She craned her neck from the opposite side of the hall, trying to see her friends from two tables over. Remus caught her eye, staring back sadly as she noticed the empty seat beside James.
———
Mollitiam, Remus wrote the Gryffindor password into the sketchbook later that night. She had it open next to her pillow, waiting to hear any word about Sirius. It was the first thing Remus sent after getting back to the common room, he’s not here. Curtains drawn tight, silencing charm cast, she buried into the quilt and cried as the images of his scarred body flashed through her mind.
That night, she dreamt of Regulus. His silver eyes boring holes into her skull as he hurled curse after curse towards her. Bracing for pain, she felt nothing but the heat of the passing blasts. Looking up, Reg was smirking. From behind, she heard whimpering.
Slowly, she turned, only to find Sirius laying on the cold stone, surrounded in a pool of his own blood.
She woke up yelling a name, but unable to remembers who’s. Great heaving breaths tried to calm the still-firing nerves buzzing throughout her body. She looked around her bed, taking note of the small crack of sunlight coming through the part in the curtains; it must be just past dawn. The sketchbook brought back the memories of last night, and she quickly picked it up to read the small message scrawled in the top corner: He’s here.
She’d never run that fast in her life. Lungs burning, and legs shaking, she yelled the password to the Fat Lady and clambered through the portrait hole to find James, Remus, and Peter in the common room by the fire.
“Where is he?” She exhaled.
Remus stood up, placing his book down on the table, “Sleeping. He didn’t get in ’til before dawn.”
She looked up at the staircase that led to the boy’s dormitory, “How is he? Did any of you speak to him?”
By the fireplace, James looked solemn. Remus glanced over at him briefly, “He’s—he’s alright. Didn’t seem to want to talk much…”
There was something else that happened, she could tell by his tone. She was willing to bet Sirius had another outburst at one of their misfortunes.
She sighed, turning and beginning to jog up the stairs before Remus grabbed her wrist, spinning her to face him.
“Where’re you going? I said he doesn’t want to talk to anyone,” His face was full of concern and exhaustion.
“I know, and I don’t care,” she smiled sweetly at her friend, pulling her wrist free to continue upstairs. Remus didn’t try and stop her again.
The door to the dormitory creaked open as she crept inside. Sirius’ bed was the only one with the curtains drawn, and she quietly made her way over, pausing at his bedside table.
“Sirius?” She whispered to the velvet.
“Go away…” a muffled voice came from inside.
“Please, let me in. We don’t have to talk if you don’t want to.” She stood there and stared at the little gold stars on the curtains, listening as soft grumbling came from just beyond the fabric.
The curtains parted slightly, a silent invitation for her to climb inside his refuge. She sat at the end of the bed, staring at Sirius in the dark. Even in the almost non-existent light, she could see the distinct blue shining back at her.
“I was worried about you,” she whispered as he crossed his arms like a petulant child.
“I’m fine,” he grunted.
She cast him a glare, hoping he could sense her annoyance at his tone through the dark.
“You know I don’t believe that for a moment, Sirius.”
He shrunk down to lay back against the headboard, “Oh yeah? Why’s that?”
“I spoke to Reg.”
Sirius shot back up, eyes hard as he stared back. They were silent for a minute, until he finally spoke up, voice quieter but still lined with a soft anger, “…and what did that little monster say?”
“When you didn’t show up to the platform I asked him where you were. He said you’d ‘be late’—“ She purposefully omitted the statement that followed, she hadn’t even told the other boys about what Regulus had called her on the train. As much as Sirius talked about hating his family, she knew that didn’t include Reggie, even though he’d never admit it. She’d seen the pain behind his eyes too many times as his little brother ignored him in the corridors.
Sirius let out a dark laugh, “Well? He wasn’t wrong, was he?”
“…the implication was there, Siri. What happened?”
She stared back at him, straightening her spine and refusing to let him deflect. He met her eyes, and she watched them glaze over after a moment.
“I didn’t think I’d be coming back,” he whispered, voice soft and sprinkled with the leftover remnants of fear, “She intercepted one of James’ letters at the beginning of break, and my owl privileges were taken away, something about preventing me from speaking with ‘blood traitors’ or whatever,” he scoffed, looking down at his hands which were twisting the scarlet sheets tightly, “A few days later, she caught one of yours.”
Her throat constricted as her blood ran cold.
“She doesn’t know your name, only your face from that one run-in in Diagon Alley. When she asked who you were, I lied, said your last name was Addams and you were helping me with a Potions assignment. Reggie—my darling brother—told her the truth. He’s always so eager to please our dear Mummy. She said yours wasn’t a last name she knew, which is just code for ‘nothing worthy of recognition’. I guess she looked up your records, because the next thing I knew, I was being dragged to my father’s study.”
The slimy tendrils of guilt crept their way up her esophagus, clogging her airway as she struggled to take shallow breaths. Sirius didn’t look at her, just continued to stare at his fidgeting hands, hair a dark curtain over his pale face.
“Dad said he was disappointed in me, which is nothing new,” he let out a humorless laugh, “but then he started going on about muggleborns, and how they’re dangerous, how ‘a son of the Noble House of Black shouldn’t be associating with such filth’.”
His tone changed, voice growing smaller, meeker, and she watched as he curled into himself.
“Then my mom came in, she always does his dirty work…”
His fingers absent-mindedly twitched towards the hem of his shirt, and she wanted to scream.
Crawling carefully towards him, she unwrapped his hand from the sheets and squeezed it. He leaned back against the headboard again, and she filled in the space beside him.
“…she said they were looking into ‘other educational institutions’ for me, ones that didn’t ‘pander to muggle sympathizer agendas’. They said if I didn’t shape up and start…honoring the family name, that I’d be sent away. They forbade me from taking the train in, didn’t say a word about if I was even allowed back, not until this morning…” In the absence of sheets, he played with her fingers, voice quiet and tired.
She didn’t know what to say. I mean…she did. She wanted to tell him that his family was batshit insane, that they were horrible bigots who lived in a delusional world full of hatred and false notions of purity. But at the end of the day—Sirius already knew all of that. What would it help?
So instead of speaking, she laid with him in silence while he ran a finger over her palm, tracing imaginary patterns along the lifelines. She watched as his eyelids became heavy and his breathing evened out before speaking again.
“Siri?”
He hummed, not able to open his eyes fully.
“I’m going to go to class, okay?”
Sirius gripped her hand, a desperate movement that brought tears to her eyes.
“…stay. Please…” he whispered.
The strain of his voice had her body going numb; the loud, obnoxious, overly confident boy she knew was long gone at that moment. It was devastating.
“Of course,” She nodded, laying back down as his body visibly relaxed; within seconds, he was asleep.
She brushed his hair out of his face, watching how his eyes fluttered in his sleep, “…you’re safe now, Siri.”
———
June 11th, 1973
As the castle grounds thawed, so did Sirius’ attitude towards his parents threats. He leaned further into pranks, doubling down on his assault of the entirety of the Slytherin House, including his brother. The only thing stronger than his desire to disappoint his parents even further, was her and Remus’ determination to have them all pass their end of year exams. Peter was so tightly wound that he could barely function, consistently forgetting everything and mumbling to himself throughout the day. She tried her best to tutor him in anything he asked, holing up in the library for hours at a time and quizzing him on everything from Astronomy to Potions. With only a few more cram sessions until exams, Peter was practically tearing his hair out as they went over the properties of Fluxweed for the umpteenth time.
“—all you have to do is remember at least five uses!” She gave him an encouraging smile, trying to calm down the currently red-faced boy sitting across from her.
“I can barely name three! There’s no way I’m going to pass Herbology,“ Pete groaned, burying his head into his folded arms on the table, “Mum’s gonna kill me.”
She sighed, “Okay, what if we take a break and switch to—“
A crumped ball of paper struck the side of her head. Reaching down to pick it up off the floor, she unfolded what was clearly a page from the Daily Prophet:
MUGGLE FAMILY ATTACKED IN CROYDON!
James had kept them all informed about any news regarding the war; his parents wrote him daily and provided any updates they could. Attacks on muggles and muggleborns had become too frequent, and she tried her best to not show the effect it was having on her psyche. According to James, the ministry wasn’t naming suspects, but the general consensus was that Voldemort supporters (now coined as Death Eaters apparently) were behind it. Mr. Potter told his son that they were ‘monitoring’ a few individuals, but refused to give up any surnames, much to James’ dismay.
“Psst!”
She glanced over her shoulder to see a table of Slytherin’s directly behind them, smirking over torn pages of newspaper.
The dark haired boy nearest her leaned forward, “Isn’t your family from London too, mudblood?”
The table erupted into laughter. She tensed at the thought of her parents, gripping her quill so hard it was in danger of snapping. Across from her, Pete was staring daggers at them, mouth set in a hard line.
“Maybe they’ll be next Barty!” Mulciber clapped his friend on the back, shooting her a wink.
Beside him, a dirty-blonde boy crumpled up another piece of paper and levitated it with his wand, shooting it over towards her head again. Pete flicked it away quickly before it could invade their space. The Slytherin boy tore another page off the newspaper, balling it up in annoyance and launching it faster this time. Pete waved it away effortlessly with his wand. Before she could even register it, the boy stood up with an ink pot in his fist, throwing it with gusto across the aisle.
Pete leapt up with his wand trained on the glass jar, “Immobulus!”
The ink pot froze in mid-air just inches from her head, Peter grabbed it, setting it down safely onto the table. She exhaled the breath she had been holding, as Peter pointed his wand directly at the other boy.
“Expelliarmus!” He called, the Slytherin’s wand launching out of his fist and across the aisle. Pete snatched it, giving the other boy a brief glare as he turned and threw it across the library.
Mulciber rose from the table, “You stupid, fuckin—“
Before he could push his chair back, she grabbed Pete’s arm and pulled him towards the door, rushing out into the corridor and back towards Gryffindor Tower.
They paused to catch their breath on one of the moving staircases.
“I’m sorry,” Peter huffed, hands on his knees, “I didn’t mean to—I just heard what he called you and—I can go get McGonagall and tell her—“
“Pete!” She grabbed his shoulders, “That was—“
“Irresponsible? Stupid? Reckless? Yeah I know—“ Through deep breaths, he was looking down at this feet, shame growing visible on his face.
“I mean…yes, but it was also incredibly brave.”
Pete looked up, a smile creeping upwards as the Fat Lady granted them entrance.
“Thank you, you’re a good friend,” she hugged him tightly, his body tensing in her arms for a brief second until relaxing entirely.
“I also think it’s worth mentioning,” she released him from the embrace, “Both of those spells are definitely going to be on our final exams, and you executed them perfectly!”
The two of them walked into the common room, Peter blushing immensely.
“I think you just need to relax, you’ll do just fine—“
“—Great! Just the two we were looking for!” James stood in the center of the common room, excitement radiating from his entire body. Beside him, Sirius was perched on the couch with a large book in his lap, grinning broadly as they approached.
“…and why’s that?” She returned a skeptical look, eyes volleying between the two giddy boys.
James nodded towards the dormitory, “I think we should speak about it somewhere less…out in the open.”
That didn’t help ease her suspicions in the slightest capacity.
James led them all upstairs, Sirius launching himself onto his bed in a dramatic fashion as she sat on the of Remus’ vacant one.
“Where’s Lupin?” Pete asked, eyeing the bedside table of their missing friend.
“Detention,” Sirius smirked.
“For what?” She leaned over to sift through the collection of books on his nightstand, stealing a banged up copy of Animal Farm.
“Got caught putting time-released dung bombs under the benches of the Sytherin Table in the Great Hall.”
She raised a disapproving eyebrow, “I’m assuming that was your brilliant idea, so why aren’t you with him?”
Sirius shrugged, “McGonagall separated us. He’s got Friday, I’ve got Wednesday, James has Monday.”
She rolled her eyes, focusing back on James who was leaning against his bedpost.
“Right, so, speaking of Remus, we are all aware of his little…affliction,” he began to explain, “Well, we’ve been thinking of ways to help him and I think we’ve finally figured it out.”
She shook her head, letting out a frustrated sigh, “There’s no cure for lycanthropy, James, trust me I’ve tried looking up a million different remedies and experimental treatments—”
“Yes, but that’s because you were too preoccupied on curing him, we're just talking about easing the symptoms,” Sirius sat up higher on his bed.
Her heart began to pick up speed, “What do you mean?”
“Werewolves are only a real danger to humans…not to other animals,” James started, “So we’re…uh—“
“—we’re going to become animagi and keep Lupin company during his transformations,” Sirius finished for him.
She stared between them blankly for a few seconds, “Okay, one question: ARE YOU COMPLETELY MAD?!”
Sirius smiled, James pushed off the bedpost and held up his hands in defense, “I know, I know, it’s…a lot, but we’ve looked into the process and it seems do-able. We would be able to keep Remus occupied while in wolf form so he might not hurt himself anymore!”
“James, the ritual to become an animagi is extremely difficult and dangerous if not done properly. I know you said you’ve looked into it, but have you considered the risks?”
He nodded absolutely, “Me and Sirius want to do it, we need to do it to help Remus. I can’t imagine waking up one morning to hear from Madam Pomfrey that he’s clawed his entire face off…”
She shuddered at the thought, thinking back to the morning Remus stared helplessly at the scar etched across his face in the bright, sterilized light of the hospital wing.
“So, are you in?” Sirius interrupted her thoughts, staring intently from across the room.
Peter seemed hesitant at first, but eventually began to nod silently once he saw James’ smile.
“When do you plan on doing it?” She muttered, a million thoughts ricocheting around her head.
“This summer,” James announced.
She looked between her three friends, admiring their loyalty but fearing their ambition, “…let me think about it.”
———
June 19th, 1973
Sirius had called her a coward.
After a long deliberation, and countless hours pouring over potion books and texts regarding animagi processes, she had ultimately decided to not pursue it alongside her friends. She loved Remus with her entire being, but when she read and reread the stories documented about rituals gone wrong, all she could think about was her family; she couldn’t put them through that.
James took the decision well, only asking that she promised not to tell a living soul about their plans, and to try and keep Remus distracted so he wouldn’t find out until it was completed. He knew that their friend wouldn’t approve of the rest of them doing something so dangerous, even it was to help him. Peter, being as easy-going as he was, didn’t care in the slightest. He understood her apprehension, and admitted to even considering backing out initially as well (something he disclosed to her privately, not daring to say it in front of the other two).
She caught Sirius and James leaving the quidditch pitch the week before school let out, the two boys getting in some final drills on the field before summer break. The animagi plan had been the only thing on her mind besides exams, weighing the risks and rewards over and over again in-between revising.
“I’ve thought it over,” she double-checked over her shoulder to make sure no one was around as they sat in the empty stands, “I’m not going to do the ritual with you guys.”
“Why?” She could immediately feel the anger radiated off of Sirius.
James’ smile fell slightly, a little crease forming in-between his brows, “Are you sure? I promise, we’ll be as safe and by-the-book as possible—“
“James,” she held up a gentle hand, “I’m positive. I can’t risk it going wrong, I can’t put my family in that position, having to live with some sort of half human…half…creature daughter.”
James looked like he was holding back, he did that a lot, something she had begun to notice little by little; but instead of letting his thoughts flow freely, he gave a single definitive nod.
Sirius was standing behind him, silent and brooding as his eyes threatened to burn a hole in her skull.
She met the intensity head-on, connecting their gazes into an unbroken line of tension.
“What’re you so afraid of?” Sirius mumbled.
She raised her eyebrows, a mixture of caution and wondering if he had even researched this ritual at all. “I mean, we can start with risk of becoming a permanent human-animal hybrid—“
“—It’s for Moony though,” His voice became colder as his eyes narrowed.
“Who?” Too annoyed at Sirius’ attitude, she didn’t have the brain power to follow along.
“Remus,” James chimed in, trying to diffuse the tension, “It’s his nickname we’ve been using since we found out about his…problem.”
Her eyes shot to James, “…a little morbid, don’t you think?”
He shrugged.
“He doesn’t care, he seems to like it. You don’t know him like we do,” Sirius jabbed.
It felt like she had been punched; the insecurities from first year floating back to the surface.
She wasn’t one of them, she never would be. They were her best friends, but she wasn’t theirs.
“Fuck you, Black,” she sneered, turning to leave. The desire to get away from them both was overwhelming.
Storming out from below the quidditch stands, James called after her.
Sirius called her a coward.

Oct 24 - Slytherin Skittles - Candy Eating
1,171 words
Regulus was not in the mood to have people over today. It didn’t matter that it was his friends instead of James’. He didn’t want to socialise, but unfortunately with this group, it wouldn’t matter what he said, they were coming over no matter what. Sometimes, he wondered why they cared so much about him and wouldn’t just let him sit in a dark room and read a book for the rest of his days.
The incessant knocking at his front door drew Regulus out of his musing and he groaned loudly even though there was nobody there to hear him. Regulus pulled himself up off of the couch and didn’t even bother to put his book down. The knocking continued until he yanked open the door with a scowl.
“Why must you be so annoying right now?” Regulus grumbled as he saw a grinning Barty on the other side of his door.
“Because you love me for it.” Barty pushed past Regulus and plopped down on his couch.
“I really don’t.”
“Reggie, stop being sour. We brought sweets,” Pandora said sweetly when she came in behind him, followed by Evan and Dorcas.
“Why?”
“To cheer you up,” Dorcas replied instantly, sitting in one of the armchairs next to Pandora.
“I don’t need any cheering up. I was perfectly content to sit and read by myself.”
That was only partially true. Yes, he was content to sit and read but he preferred when James was home to read with him. Unfortunately, he had to leave for a work trip and won’t be back until Thursday. It was Tuesday and he had only been gone since Sunday. It wasn’t that he needed to see James every day but he did prefer it when his husband was home. But that didn’t mean that Regulus needed his friends to come and barge into his house with…
Wait…
“Did you say sweets?” Pandora nodded with her gentle smile that Regulus knew was her ‘I know what you need’ smile. It wasn’t a secret that Regulus had a sweet tooth.
“Of course, that’s the only word that you heard,” Barty threw his hands up in the air in surrender. “Did you even hear a single word I said?”
Honestly, Regulus didn’t even realise that Barty was talking until he got upset that Regulus wasn’t listening. It shouldn’t be a surprise but Regulus has a tendency to tune things out when he’s annoyed.
“Did you say something?” Regulus asked sarcastically with a smirk.
“You little shit,” Barty groaned before launching back into his story, not that Regulus was listening this time either.
“Reggie?” Dorcas called.
“Hmm?”
“Where do you keep going? I swear half the time we’re over here, you are lost somewhere in your own little world.”
“Have you not met me?” Regulus asked exasperatedly. “When am I not in my own head?”
“That’s beside the point. We brought sweets and you are going to socialise,” Pandora responded firmly. “I’m not going to let you wallow in the dark until James comes home.”
He wasn’t wallowing. He was just enjoying some alone time because he knew that as soon as James came home then Sirius would be home and they would both pester him about Halloween. He can only take so much excitement so he is savouring the peace while he has it.
“I’m not wallowing,” Regulus declared as he crossed his arms over his chest.
The four of them stared at Regulus for another few minutes before Regulus had to give in and sat back down on the couch next to Evan. He grabbed his bookmark and marked the page he was on before he set his book on the table between the couch and armchair that Pandora and Dorcas were sitting in.
“Fine, maybe I am but that didn’t mean you all needed to come over here.” He was still a little annoyed. “What sweets did you bring?”
“I swear he only cares about the sweets,” Barty said annoyed but there was a hint of a smile to it.
“We have all of the sweets,” Pandora replied, ignoring Barty’s comment and dumping the bag on the coffee table. “Chocolates, gummies, lollies, everything that you could think of. We got it.”
“What the fuck? Did you raid the sweets shop or something?” Regulus squawked as the sweets filled his coffee table.
“No, we only bought a few things,” Evan said with a smirk as Barty tried to hide his laughter behind his hand.
“You did, didn’t you?” Regulus glared at Evan and Barty for a few minutes before Dorcas threw a Mars bar at him.
“Eat your chocolate and be grateful.”
Regulus could get behind his friends barging into his quiet time if it meant they were going to bring him sweets. He did actually enjoy it when his friends barged into his house most of the time, not that he was going to tell them that. They would never leave if they knew he enjoyed their company.
Regulus was starting to relax on the couch as the conversation continued about nothing of importance. He had already had three chocolate bars, two Turkish delights, and a handful of gummies. Barty couldn’t eat anything and not make a mess to save his life. He had chocolate wrappers strewn all around him and somehow managed to get chocolate on his forehead, although Regulus was sure that Evan was to blame for that.
“Can you not make a mess in my house, please?” Regulus asked after another ten minutes of watching Barty throw yet another wrapper on the table.
“It’s contained.” Barty shrugged and Regulus tried to smack him but he ducked out of the way before he could.
“Seriously, how do you always manage to make a mess when you eat and how the hell did you get chocolate on your forehead?”
Barty reached up and wiped off the chocolate with a look of betrayal.
“Who put chocolate on my forehead?” Barty exclaimed loudly.
Everyone else snickered and pointed their fingers at a different person in the room. Pandora was pointing at Evan, Dorcas was pointing at Regulus, Evan was pointing at Dorcas and Regulus was pointing at Pandora. Barty huffed and crossed his arms as he sunk back into the couch. That just caused everyone to fall into full-on laughter at his dramatics.
“How did you not know that somebody touched your head?” Dorcas asked after they had calmed down and caught their breaths.
“I wasn’t paying attention to what you people were doing. I was too busy enjoying my sweets to focus on any of you?”
“Oh, stop pouting,” Evan said as he gave his boyfriend a kiss on the cheek. “We’re only having a little bit of fun.”
Barty did stop pouting… eventually. The five of them spent the next hour eating sweets and messing around with each other. Regulus wouldn’t admit this but they did cheer him up and he got in a few laughs too but he still wished it was Thursday.

please could I request a matchup? if requests aren't open please feel free to ignore and delete this ask!! thank you so so much :)
I would like a Harry Potter matchup, preferably from the marauders era or the slytherin boys (not including draco). I am a boy + I'd prefer to be matched with a male character if that is possible!!
I have short-ish fluffy brown hair in a shaggy mullet, with gray eyes and light freckles over my nose. I'm about 5'6" I think as well??? And in terms of personality I'm super shy and awkward in general. I barely talk to people but when it's just me and my friends or people I trust super well I actually never shut up 😭😭 I'm always rambling and explaining my interests to people and I love cracking really dumb jokes to people I care about even if they're really bad jokes just to lighten the mood or cheer them up when they're feeling down + I have such an immature sense of humour that I laugh at the dumbest jokes 😭
My hobbies are reading (anything that has super dramatic plots and stuff but I'll also read anything if I think the writing style is nice/pretty tbh!), and I'm super into the classic nerdy stuff like video games (racing games are my favourites and i get super competetive while plahing them), superhero comics, action movies, and all that. But I'm super into analysing movies as well, and I'd say that's my main interest.
My love language is physical touch! I'm very clingy and affectionate to those I love, and I'm pretty much always holding their hands.
For any additional information, my hogwarts house is ravenclaw, I'd describe my aesthetic as dark academia and my mbti type is infj! I really hope that helps + that's enough information!! Thank you again :)
ᴍᴀᴛᴄʜᴜᴘ ꜰᴏʀ ɴᴏɴɴɪᴇ!

a/n: i have yet to do a harry potter matchup!! so you are the first congratulations 🗣️
Tumblr media
i match you with.. regulus black!
loner boyfriends 🗣️
probably get close because of a shared class and you two just sort of group together due to both of you being more reserved
absolutely loves just listening to you ramble
contrary to popular belief (i have no idea if it’s contrary or not) i believe regulus loves physical touch once he gets comfortable
definitely have book club-esque discussions about whatever you two are reading
shy sun x reserved moon duo 🗣️

Carve Your Name Into My Bedpost
“You’re up in 1…2…3! Go! Go! Go!”
“I know you’re on a break but can you come over in the morning? I need you to record something for me,”
“Faster, you can move faster than that, come on, Evan,”
“Brighten up, the fans aren’t here to see you looking half-dead. They want pretty boys, not zombies. Come on! Let’s go!”
  “I love you,”
“If anything can make it all worth it, it’s that. The long days,  endless performances, and concerts, it’s all worth it in the end. Because thanks to this, I have him.”
“Wake up! Evs! Up! Up! Rosie, Love, Sweetcheeks!” Barty’s smooth voice cut through his thoughts, his painted nails digging into Evan’s shoulder.
“I’m up,” Straightening his back, he raised his head up from the messy vanity table, products scattered all over its surface.  Barty’s gorgeous face with the clear skin and hazel eyes comes into view, his hair a mess of curls on his head. His eyes light up when he catches sight of Evan’s face, smiling widely at the boy.
“Helen is looking for you,” he smiles as he speaks, brushing his hands through Evan’s hair. The blonde boy just smiles at him, fingers intertwining with Barty’s free hand. His thumb rubs circles into the tattoed rose on his wrist, eyes sparkling.
“Let’s go then,” his voice barely a whisper, he pulls himself up, tucking himself into Barty’s side, soaking up his Gucci cologne. He could stay right there forever, he thinks. They walk to Helen like that, Evan tucked into Barty’s side so close they might as well be merged at the hip. He hears Albert chuckle as they walk past, the bodyguard trailing behind the couple.
The thing about being in one of the biggest bands in the whole world–the next Beatles if you asked the right people–is that cuddling up to your boyfriend isn’t something you get to do a lot. Not with the late-night recordings, endless performances, rehearsals and paparazzi lurking on every corner on every street. So who can blame them for using every second of fresh air they get to cuddle up together? No one whose opinion Evan gives a fuck about. So yes, he will cuddle up to his boyfriend.
“The Queen Sleeping Beauty is now entering, all rise!” Barty declares loudly, putting on some fake accent so bad Evan can’t put a finger on what the inspiration might be.
“Yes, yes, all rise for me! Evan Astanine Rosier the first and only,” he does a little curtsy once he is in front of Helen, smiling widely at the woman. “You requested my presence?” He mocks Regulus’ posh accent as he speaks, grinning more when Barty claps a hand around his shoulder. “I will entrust my darling to you, Helen! Doll him up nicely for me, will you?” Barty leaves the room at that, but not before smacking a kiss onto Evan’s cheeks.
Their stylist rolls her eyes, guiding Evan to a nearby chair and getting to work while listening to Evan ramble on and on about some “dramatics” for the performance. She stopped sharing her opinions 30 minutes in when Evan got offended when she said “I don’t think you need all that, you provide enough drama for us all already.”
Eyeliner. Mascara. Lipbalm. Blush. Glitter. So much glitter. She works her magic behind him, using product after product to turn him into the “Most Cutest Boybander Around” as most tabloids have dubbed him. Barty still hasn’t let it go yet, teasing him day after day about how “adorable his little rose is”. It’s only slightly annoying. The sparkle in his hazel eyes is enough to make it endearing for Evan. “Done.” Helen takes a few steps back, turning the chair about to let him check himself out.
“Thank you, Helen, you’re a gem!” He kisses her on the cheek quickly before dashing out, in search of Barty (and Regulus) to prepare for their concert.
   “3…2…1…Go!”
“Good evening, London!” Evan rushes out on stage, Barty following behind him, electric guitar in tow. The bright lights are blinding, bright and hot as the loud cheering of fans floods the stadium, teenage girls and boys screaming their names at the very top of their lungs.
“How are you tonight? Good? Yeah!” Barty’s voice soon joins him, velvety smooth and flowing like silk. Stop staring Evan, they’re gonna post this if you do. Shit am I doing heart eyes? Fuck, look away Rosier. “Today, we’ve got a little surprise for y’all if you’re cooperative so…” Regulus starts, taking position at the mic, face as passive as ever. The fans scream even louder at that, causing a chuckle to escape from Barty.
From the corner of his eye, he sees Barty getting ready, the band playing the starting the instrumentals for Dress.
Our secret moments in your crowded room
They got no idea about me and you
There is an indentation in the shape of you
Made your mark on me, a golden tattoo
Regulus starts them off, his soft voice filling the stadium. Evan takes a few steps back with the mic, angling it such that he could stealthily sneak glances at Barty. Not like some fan wouldn’t notice and post a video on it no matter how conspicous he is.
All of this silence and patience, pining in anticipation
My hands are shaking from holding back from you (ah, ah, ah)
All of this silence and patience, pining and desperately waiting
My hands are shaking from all this (ah, ha, ha, ha)
He sings next, Barty helping out with the “ah”s. He never understood why anyone would think Barty doing that part, while his boyfriend is in attendance was a good idea. Just cause he was asexual doesn’t mean Barty isn’t fucking hot like that.
Say my name and everything just stops
I don't want you like a best friend
Only bought this dress so you could take it off
Take it off
Carve your name into my bedpost
'Cause I don't want you like a best friend
Only bought this dress so you could take it off
Take it off
He does however, agree that he deserves a duet with his boyfriend, after all the stunts and hiding in the closet. The fans seem to agree too, alway keeping quiet at this bit, letting them have their moment.
Inescapable, I'm not even gonna try
And if I get burned, at least we were electrified
I'm spilling wine in the bathtub
You kiss my face and we're both drunk
Everyone thinks that they know us
But they know nothing about
His eyes are trained on Barty’s hands as he strums the guitar, his rings shining in the light while Regulus sings his solo. Barty and his guitar are the only thing he looks at here though, or any part of the song for the matter.
All of this silence and patience, pining in anticipation
My hands are shaking from holding back from you (ah, ah, ah)
All of this silence and patience, pining and desperately waiting
My hands are shaking from all this (ah, ha, ha, ha)
Say my name and everything just stops
I don't want you like a best friend
Only bought this dress so you could take it off
Take it off
Carve your name into my bedpost
'Cause I don't want you like a best friend
Only bought this dress so you could take it off
Take it off
Only bought this dress so you could take it off
Only bought this dress so you could take it off
Barty and Evan join Regulus at this bit, their voices blending nicely with each other and the fans. Evan couldn’t care about how they sound though. Just Barty and his stupid jawline that looks so good in the light, his hazel eyes shining just as brightly as they always do.
Flashback when you met me
Your buzzcut and my hair bleached
Even in my worst times
You could see the best of me
Flashback to my mistakes
My rebounds, my earthquakes
Even in my worst lies
You saw the truth in me
And I woke up just in time
Now I wake up by your side
My one and only, my lifeline
I woke up just in time
Now I wake up by your side
My hands shake, I can't explain this ah, ha, ha, ha
Evan’s eyes don’t leave Barty even as he sings his solo, his thoughts circling around the boy and only the boy. His stupid buzzcut when they first met, the times they held each other. When he confessed.
Say my name and everything just stops.
The lights dim as is routine, the entire stadium quieting. And then.
  “Evan.”
A deep british accent says his name, the entire stadium screaming. A pride flag get’s thrown on stage, fans trying to calm down for the last 45 seconds or so of the song while the boys sing, Barty leaving his mic to sing to Evan instead.
  “I love you, Rosie,”
  “I love you too, Bartemius,”
The fans cheer loudly, Regulus clapping in the corner, the smallest hint of a smile ghosting his lips. He’s out. They’re out. They’re out. No more stunts, no more models. Just Barty and him.

didn't post Remus' birthday here either because I'm all fucked up and ruptured the ligament of my ankle on the 10th, but here it goes
about 3000 words (or 2000, I don't remember) of wolfstar getting together (and jegulus and marylily but in the background), Remus' friendships and fluff
despite not making much sense and being all over the place, I really like this one
“I was looking for you, Moony,” Pete drops on his side, sitting cross-legged and putting an arm around Remus’ shoulders.
“I literally told you I’d be here.”
“Well, yes, but I wanted to talk to you.”
“Why did you want to talk to me?”
“Well, Moony, can’t I just want to spend time with my best friend?”
Remus snorts. “Are you hiding from Lockhart again?”
“He keeps trying to kiss me!” He groans. “I don’t like him, Moony. He wants me to stroke his ego.”
“And you’re too good for him.”
“Yes, that too.”
Remus shakes his head with a fond smile, Lockhart has been chasing after Peter since his first year, their second. And yes, Peter is queer, but not like that. First of all, Peter says he doesn’t want to date people he doesn’t know, snog them, or do anything other than be friends with them.
Second of all, Peter has loads of people lining up at his door, he’s too charming with that shining smile and kind green eyes, not to mention the way he talks, he’ll beguile everyone who comes across him. Not the marauders, though, his relationship with them is strictly platonic.
The third thing is the annoying one, Lockhart can’t take a hint, and Peter is too nice to actually reject him. Merlin, that man is impossible, he thinks he’s the best person that’s ever existed, as in beautiful, intelligent and so it goes.
He’s not. He’s pathetic.
“You should tell him no, Pete.”
“I tried to, but he laughed as if it was a joke,” Peter sighs dramatically and lies down on Remus’ lap with a hand over his forehead. “Please kill me.”
Remus rolls his eyes and speaks harshly. “Stop it, don’t say that.”
“Sorry,” he says sheepishly. “I don’t mean it.”
“I know you don’t, it’s alright,” he pats Peter’s head. “Do you want me to hex him?”
“Would you?” He smiles when Remus nods, he really means it. “It’s alright, I’ll deal with him.”
“The offer remains, just say the word and I’ll do it.”
“Cheers, mate,” he gets up. “I’ll see if I can scare him away now, thank you for listening.”
“Anytime.”
.
“Remus, you won’t believe what happened!” Remus looks at James, waiting for him to continue. “Try to guess it.”
For the way he’s smiling and jumping, it’s probably something to do with quidditch or Regulus. Might be a spell too, he’s been trying to find a way to transfigure the floor into real lava. Why? He wants the trill to play ‘the floor is lava’ for real.
Yes, they’re all of age.
Yes, they still like to play games.
“I don’t know, James.”
“It’s for you, actually. Tomorrow is your birthday.”
“I’m aware,” he says dryly, but smiling so James will understand that it was a joke. “You don’t have to give me anything, James.”
“I don’t care.”
Remus sighs. “What happened, then?”
“Well, do you remember when I said I was going to ask my father if he could find you a job for The Quibbler?” Remus’ heart starts racing and his eyes widen when he nods. “You start right when we finish school.” No way. No fucking way. That’s not happening. Is this happening? “Moony, please tell me you’re not going to faint.”
“I can’t promise that,” he whispers. “I need to sit down.”
“Please tell me I didn’t fuck up,” James says in worry after Remus sits on the floor.
“Fuck up? James, I fucking love you! I can’t believe it! I could kiss you right now!”
“Please don’t,” he laughs, “Sirius would kill me, it’d be worse than the day they found out I have a crush on Reggie.”
“It really wouldn’t.”
“Moony, look at me.” He does so. “Talk to them, you won’t regret it.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
James sighs. “Alright, happy birthday, Moony.” He kisses his head and gets up, leaving Remus alone with his books in te common room.
.
"Why are you bothering us about it?" Regulus asks Remus flatly. "Don't you have other friends to do so?"
"I can't talk about it with them, though, can I?"
Regulus sighs. "God, you're annoying."
"You can't say that today, Reg," Pandora says. "It's his birthday."
Evan huffs a laugh. "Maybe getting older made him even more annoying."
“Piss off,” Remus says angrily, even though he’s not. It’s just that he absolutely can’t let them know. The study group can know: Lily knows, Pandora, Regulus, Evan, Dorcas, and Barty by extension because they’re always there bothering them even though Remus has never seen them open a book… James can’t know, Peter can’t know and most importantly, Sirius can’t know. They have a ‘no secrets and no lies’ pact, if he tells Peter or James, they’ll have to tell Sirius. And Sirius can’t know. His friends are laughing at him, all of them but Lily. Lily is looking at him with pity, which somehow is even worse. “Stop it,” he says pointing at her. “You promised you would be nice about it if I told you.”
“They're not being nice, why do I have to?”
“Because you’re the nice one,” Dorcas explains with a straight face. “We’re here to make Remus’ life a living hell, you’re here to help him bear it.”
Remus groans and rolls his eyes again, but his mind goes back to Sirius. Their perfect hair and silver eyes. Oh, they’re so beautiful. Remus woke up today with Sirius as Padfoot, jumping on top of him and licking his face, he didn’t even remember it was his birthday until Sirius made sure to tell him with a wonderful and beautiful grin. Then they made sure to hold his hand through breakfast and only let him go when he said he had to come to the library for the study group, but not before complaining about how Remus studies on weekends. He blushes.
“Look at him,” Barty laughs. “He’s pathetic, isn’t he?”
“I’ll show you who’s pathetic, Mx ‘I’m in love with my best friend but I can’t tell him because I can’t risk our friendship.”
He’s talking about Evan, but when everybody looks at him, he realises that he’s in the same position. It’s different, though, everybody knew Evan was in love with Barty too. Evan even made sure to make Barty know it.
“Remus…”
“I know, ” he snarls. “I’m going to the lake. Don’t follow me.”
He thinks he wants to be followed, but he doesn’t expect them to, he literally told them not to. It’s just that Sirius is everything to him, they’re thoughtful, careful, soft… They never did as much as raise their voice at him, even though they’ve done it with everyone else, even James when they found out he has a crush on their little brother.
And none of them can call him pathetic. Lily has been hopelessly in love with Mary since their first year. Regulus has had a crush on James even before coming to Hogwarts. Apparently, his crush started when Sirius showed him a picture of their friends and talked about them when they were home. Barty and Dorcas went through the same situation before. The only person who can mock him is Pandora, but, for a reason, she doesn’t.
He wants to tell James and Peter, they would understand, but he can’t. He can’t tell them because they’d have to hide it from Sirius, and Remus doesn’t want to put them in that situation.
When he sits on the ground, facing the lake, he feels an anger he hasn’t felt in years. Why the fuck is it all so hard? Merlin, he’s 18, he should’ve been stable by now. But he isn’t. His life is a mess, all he can think about is the NEWTs and Sirius. He needs top marks and he wants Sirius to love him back. He’d be so happy if Sirius loved him back. Even though he’ll have a job in The Quibbler, he will fuck up and need to find another job. He needs top marks.
“You should ask them out,” Remus jumps startled and points his wand at the voice before even looking at them. Reasonably so, the last time he was alone at the lake and someone went after him, it was Snape and he wasn’t prepared at all, he ended up in the hospital wing because of a dark spell. “God, Remus, it’s me.”
“You startled me, twat.”
“Well, don’t start with that, you’re fine,” Regulus says emotionless. “And my point stands,” Remus sits back down on the ground, not facing him. “You should ask them out.”
“First of all,” he says sharply. “I specifically told you not to follow me.”
“Mhm,” he hums nonchalantly. “As if you didn’t want to be followed. I know you, Lupin, you want– No, you need someone to convince you that Sirius loves you back but won’t make the first move, you have to do it.”
“You’re a hypocrite,” Remus mumbles. “If I tell Sirius, then you’ll have to tell James and ask him on a date.”
“I’ll do it.”
“What?” Remus chokes, his eyes wide in shock.
“I said I’ll do it. I’ll go to your common room with you, you’ll tell James to meet me outside. While I tell him I love him in the room behind the knight tapestry, you’ll tell Sirius in your dorm.” Regulus doesn’t seem to be lying, he wouldn’t lie about something like that, would he? “And for the record, both James and Peter know. You’re not subtle, Remus.”
He rolls his eyes and gets up. “Alright, then,” he says, “But if I lose my best friend and fuck up everything, you’ll regret meeting me in the first place.”
Regulus smirks. “Are you sure you can handle me, Lupin?”
“With my hands and feet tied just after the full moon.”
Regulus raises his eyebrows and gets up too, heading for the castle. It’s fine, really, the way Regulus treats him, their friendship is like that. Remus likes his bluntness, sometimes it’s necessary. He appreciates all his friends: the way Lily lets him lie in her lap when he needs it; the way James hugs him when he’s overwhelmed, knowing exactly how much pressure he needs to feel better; the way Peter will sit next to him and say nothing when he’s having an anxiety attack, giving him the support he needs without overwhelming him; the way Pandora coddles him when no one else will; even when Dorcas, Barty and Evan mock him to make him laugh. They all help him in their own way.
And Sirius. Sirius knows how he’s feeling even before him, they know when he needs someone to let him talk, they know when to get someone else to help him, even though they’re always enough. They know Remus even more than Remus knows himself. How he likes his tea, how he loves chocolate cake but only without topping because it makes him feel sick, how he loves to hear them sing when he’s sad… They know when Remus needs Padfoot to lie down with him and nuzzle his face, licking his nose in an attempt to cheer him up.
Sirius is perfect for him and he doesn’t want to lose them.
.
Well, that’s harder than he anticipated, Just looking at Sirius makes his stomach turn and his limbs get cold. He can’t do it. He just can’t. No, no, no. Sirius is looking back at him with that beautiful grin, showing their chipped tooth. Oh, what a sight, he’d look at them forever if he could.
But he can’t, so he averts his eyes and hides in his four-poster.
“Moony,” he hears Sirius saying softly. “I’m coming in.”
“No.”
“I won’t leave you alone on your birthday.”
“I wasn’t alone until now.”
“But you were with my brother, not with me.”
“My point stands,” he says flatly. “I want to be alone, Padfoot.”
“No, you don’t.”
No, I don’t.
“I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t mean it.”
“You would, I know you,” they say calmly. “I hope you’re still decent because I’m coming in.”
And they do, because his friends have no concept of personal space and they know when he’s lying. “What?”
“You’re worried.”
“Of course I’m not,” he says sarcastically. “I’m the epitome of calmness.”
“Don’t be mean to me, Moony,” they pout. “What happened?”
Oh, fuck, he’ll have to do it, won’t he? He promised Regulus he would do it, he can’t back off now. “Nothing happened, Sirius, just leave me alone.”
“Did my brother do something to you? Do I have to hit him for you?”
“Don’t hit your brother.”
“It wouldn’t be the first nor the last time, he’s my brother, we do that.” Remus huffs a laugh. “There we are! Now give me a smile.”
“Piss off,” he says, frowning again. “I just need to be alone for a while.”
“Oh, did something happen? Are you overwhelmed?”
“I’m fine, Sirius, just leave.”
“Do you need me to get James? I’ll get him for you. Did Barty say something?”
“I don’t understand your problem with Barty.”
“Well, James doesn’t like them, so as the amazingly supportive friend that I am, I don’t like them either.”
“James is jealous of them.”
“Do you need him now?”
“He’s doing something important now.” Merlin, he has to do it. “Sit down, would you?”
“Are you just giving me orders like a dog?” They do it anyway.
“Well, you obeyed, didn’t you?”
They laugh. “What happened, Moony?”
“Well, your brother and I made a deal, if he does something, I’ll have to do something too,” he says carefully. “And he’s doing it right now, so I’ll have to do it too. But I need you to bear with me and not speak or leave until I tell you to.”
“So you’re giving me orders like a dog.” Remus glares at them. “Alright, I’m sorry, I’ll be quiet.”
He’s sure Sirius is being difficult because they know Remus finds it funny, but it’s not helping now, it’s just making him even more anxious because he’ll miss it. He’ll miss Sirius when they stop talking to him.
“Reg is outside confessing his love for James.”
“Really?!” They jump with a grin. “Oh my God, I can’t believe it, it’s been what? Six years? Seven?”
“Sirius.”
“Alright, I promise I’ll be quiet now,” they zip their mouth shut and pretend to throw an imaginary key through the window.
“Regulus is confessing his love for James because I agreed to do something if he did that.” They nod. “I said if he confessed his love for James, I’d confess my love for you. Which isn’t fair because it’s my birthday and you’ll feel guilty for rejecting me on my birthday. Don’t. I’ll be fine. I just don’t want things to get weird because even if I can’t have you as a partner, I still want to have you as a friend, I can’t lose you.”
They just nod again and Remus sighs.
“You can reject me today, it’s best if you do it now, I don’t want you to wait until tomorrow so I won’t feel bad on my birthday, just… Just please don’t let me lose you as a friend, because even though I love you as more than that, I still love you as a friend and I appreciate your friendship and you as a person and I can’t, Sirius, I just can’t.”
They don’t move.
“I promise I won’t kill Regulus for giving me bad advice either, I know you love him and I won’t kill him even if I want to. I can’t promise I won’t kill the others, though, but you don’t like Barty, so there’s that. If I kill him would you want to be my friend again? I’ll do whatever it takes.” His breath hitches and he realises what he had just said, putting his hands over his mouth and widening his eyes. “I take it back, I can’t kill anyone, I’m sorry. But I’ll do anything else, just don’t leave me.”
Their face is blank.
“I fucked up, didn’t I? I’m sorry, I should have known better. And now I made you uncomfortable because I’m a bad friend and I put you in an awful position. I’m sorry, Sirius,” he feels his eyes watering. Of course he’s going to cry, he’s going to lose one of his best friends, how could someone not cry about it? “Just… I’ll stay away from you if you want to, I won’t touch you anymore if you don’t want me to, I–”
“Remus,” Sirius says gravely and he freezes. “Moony, slow down. Breathe. Come on, inhale… hold… exhale… hold… That’s it, better now? Do you want me to hug you? Will the pressure make you feel better?”
“You don’t want to touch me.”
“I wouldn’t have offered if I didn’t, would I?” They smile. “You’re overwhelmed, Remus, do you need the pressure?” Is he overwhelmed? He hadn’t noticed. But it makes sense, he’s feeling like he needs to peel his skin off. “Moony?”
He slowly nods. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologise, love, I love you too. I have for a while now. James and Peter know, and Reg too, he’s known the longest.”
“You do?”
“I do.”
“That little shite could have told me, couldn’t he? I’ve– Ugh,” he sighs. “He’s known I’m in love with you for a good while now, he could have… It would have… You told him not to tell me, didn’t you?”
“What do you think?” They ask hoarsely. “I can’t live without you, can I?”
“I’m sorry.”
“Remus John Lupin, I think you’re wasting too much time apologising when you could be snogging me. I really need you to, it’s a life or death situation, you’re torturing me by looking at me like that.”
“Am I?” Remus smirks. “What if I want to torture you?”
Sirius grins with that mischievous glint in their eyes. “Naughty boy,” they laugh. “I’ll let you do anything to me.”
“Anything? Well, that’s a huge promise, isn’t–"
Before they can continue, James runs into the room and throws himself on his bed, laughing. “You won’t believe me!”
“Regulus said he loves you?”
“Regulus said he loves me!!”
“And now you’re dating?”
“And now we’re dating!!”
“Moony and I are dating now, too.”
“Oh, are we?” Remus asks with a smirk.
“I thought so,” they frown. “Haven’t you just said you want to make me suffer?”
“Padfoot,” James says carefully. “I don’t think… What do you mean? Suffer? Moony, you can’t– Why would you– I thought you–”
“James, mate,” Remus says laughing. “I don’t think you understood what Sirius meant. But we’re not dating.”
“We’re not?”
“Regulus said I’d have to make the first move,” he explains. “Can I be your boyfriend, Sirius?”
“YES! Oh my God, James! Did you see that? Tell me you saw that.”
“You know…” he says with a weird smile. “I think I’ll leave you two to it, I’ll be back later. Lock the door, will you?”
“Wanker.”
.
“So both of you are suddenly taken?” Dorcas asks amused. “Out of nowhere?”
“I guess.”
“You’re pathetic,” Barty announces. “Both of you. Absolutely pathetic.”
“I’m pathetic?” Regulus asks rolling his eyes. “Alright, Mx ‘I don’t think I’ve ever been happier than when he kissed me’.”
“You weren’t supposed to tell him that.”
“Why not, darling?” Evan asks with a smirk. “Are you afraid I won’t think you’re cool anymore? Don’t worry, I’ve never thought you were cool."
“And how does it feel, Remus?”
“Oh, Lily, you have to tell Mary, I want to relive the moment Sirius called me ‘love’ again and again. I’d live in that moment forever.”
“Sirius made you sappy.”
Remus feels a dazed smile on his face. “They did.”
 .
"Remus," Lily says in the common room the next day. "I told her."
"How did it go?"
"You were right," she says quietly, but undoubtedly thrilled. "Merlin, Remus, her lips are so soft and warm. Her hair smells like coconut and vanilla and I'd live in her arms forever."
"I told you you wouldn't regret it, didn't I?" He asks smiling. "And you know I'm always right."
"We can go on double dates now."
"Lily, you know I love you, don't you?" She nods. "I'll not be going on double dates. Ever."
"Oh, you're so boring."
"I don't see anyone complaining."
She smiles at him. "Yes, unfortunately, we still love you."

Which redacted character do you think would be the softest to a character who is shy / anxious and deals with self loathing? Asking for a friend 👀
A friend you say? Hmmm
Arguably, every listener deals with self-loathing in some kind of way. And their respective partners (or friend group in Freelancer's case) comfort them.
On the opposite side, you have Lasko and his listener in the wonder of reverse comfort. But your friend (👀) is searching for soft comfort specifically.
Gavin is gonna take the crown. He's pretty versatile and tends to be a personality chameleon. Plus if you look at the DAMN group, he tends to comfort Lasko in his own way by pulling Lasko out of bad spiraling thoughts by flirting. Freelancer tends to be more reserved when it comes to opening up about things they're dealing with and wants to constantly take on other's burdens. Just the fact that he tends to be surrounded with people on a spectrum of shy/anxious and self loathing individuals points towards understanding how to best comfort them. He has a lot of social awareness to understand that what might work for one person, won't work for another. (I love Gavin.)
(Caelum would work too, but he's the obvious choice since his entire existence basically revolves around comforting people and loosening knots. Only problem would be that no one but other d(a)emons and FL can see/hear him O.O So depending on the usage of this information that may or may not be important.)
Below the cut are my reasons for ruling out the other characters if you're interested.
I'm gonna have to eliminate Asher, David, and Milo (purely because their listeners seem outgoing.) Sweetheart could be shy, but that's just because I have a headcanon that since they're a stealth, they're so used to hiding as much as they can even when they're not thinking about it. But that's not canon (*yet*) All we got is that when they're in flight or fight mode, they tend to cloak without trying.
Sam could be a good contender since he's so gentle and comforts Darlin when they start trashing on themselves. Honestly he's probably a runner up to Gavin. But I can't label him the softest because of Gavin's existence. But for whatever reason your friend (I'm not buying it sorry lol) needs this and Gavin just doesn't quite fit the slot, I would go for Sam.
Vincent is slutty. Nah, I'm kidding. Vincent seems more easy at comforting after something happens. Through no fault of his own. The comfort audios we get are always after an event happens that Lovely is struggling to cope afterwards, versus in the middle of something. He does have that awareness that apologizing for it doesn't always help, so kudos to him.
Aaron is also really socially aware, but he relies so heavily on communication to understand a situation (which is good. Communication is healthy) that it might be difficult for him to comfort someone who is shy. We all know that Smartass isn't shy around him, so we haven't really seen him comforting them because of something. *that I know of. I need to relisten to his playlist soon. I miss him.* He did a good job comforting Elliot, but Elliot also seems kind of outgoing. I wouldn't call him shy.
Ollie is a sweetheart. But in all honesty I've only listened to his first two audios so I don't really know much about him O.O
Vega... It's Vega. He'd manipulate you into feeling better, but only on his terms and when it benefits him. I love him.
Regulus... No. Obvs.
Blake could be good at it since he's a yandere so he's pretty into knowing all your details. He would know how best to comfort you because he knows you so well. But he wouldn't be the softest to anyone who isnt his darling, so if that's who this shy/anxious self loathing person is then Blake is off the table. He's pretty single minded.
Guy would be amazing at cheering someone up. But we're looking for soft. Not energetic cheering up. Vulnerable soft Guy in his confession audio holds a special place in my heart though. But his "sleep aid" proved that the best thing when you're trying to calm down is have him go to a far away restaurant to retrieve food.
Avior is a tricky one. So many of his audios were him putting up a front to keep Starlight at arms length. Then afterwards it was most reverse comfort from how I saw it. So Idk how he would be. There's not a lot of evidence in my perspective to make a clear decision.
Ivan - Same deal as with Avior. Not enough objective evidence. First he's a scary kidnapper and then he's begging to try his old relationship again. No comfort stuff really.
Morgan would be great with a reclusive person. (Since I think that's what his listener is? His voice always puts me to sleep. But I'm not sure entirely since I always fall asleep hehe)
Lasko did pretty well at comforting FL after the Kody incident, but his panic in wanting to make people feel better wouldn't make him a good contender. Sorry Lasky.
Kody is a wet noodle.
Huxley would be good at it, but I can see him struggling to find the words he wants to use. Hugs are great and he seems like he is soft with people in a more touchy manner. Depending on the person that can be good. But if you're like me and get uncomfortable when people touch you and you just like the idea of physical contact, then he wouldn't be the top choice.
Damien would kind of be like Guy in the way he could cheer you up, but it wouldn't be soft. As much as he hates it, the first reaction he has is to protect which can get him heated. Not the most calming presence. Plus he's not the most socially aware.
Geordi... it depends if they're in his head. He tries to choose his words very carefully, but he's naturally a very anxious person as well. Their anxiety could feed off of his and then we have another Lasko situation.
Brachium is another pretty good choice. Only problem is he's difficult to reach so he would be difficult to give comfort. But his voice and aura are very calming if a bit somber. He is pretty good at being soft with Sunshine with his "little one"s and such. I love him, he's such a dad.
Cam is kind of like Caelum in the way he would be very good at it. Plus he's obvious. But he's overworked. Let him sleep TT-TT
James is too analytical and focused on saving the world and getting back home. Soft isn't the word I would use for him.
Anton... same vibes as Brachium. He's soft but somber.
Marcus is whiny.
Brian is grumpy. Plus there's no evidence for him.
Quinn would be shit at it obvs.
Echo would just snap his fingers and make you more anxious. He finds that shit funny.
Did I miss anyone? O.O
