I always found Cory’s dying far more powerful in the 1987 movie than in the Lifetime version. I had a lot of issues with Lifetime’s adaptation (although I enjoyed the sequels more). You really get the sense of how terrible the situation was in the 1987 movie, the kids look malnourished and sunlight deprived. Even though the amount of time they were imprisoned was condensed, a much better effort was made to show how dreadful and terrible the situation was. Plus, the actor who played Cory was so adorable. The music also helped greatly with this. “One Flower Dies” by Christopher Young is just so haunting and heartbreaking (that can really be said for the entire soundtrack).

spent some time trying to figure out just what peter parker's haircut is, when drawn by steve ditko (and pretty much every artist afterwards for decades). i always hesitate to call it slicked back cause, well, there's some volume there! just the littlest bit. it comes up and out towards the front of his head:
after a skim of wikipedia's article on hairstyles in the 50's, i've settled on peter having an ivy league haircut. probably styled a little bit, to get that volume.
i even managed to find a somewhat-decent, real world equivalent to peter (in hair alone): lindsay crosby, of the crosby boys. it's kind of tough to find a good picture of him (he's not as famous as bing), but here are some decent ones that show his hair:
anyways, i have solved a mystery nobody probably wanted solved. but it was important to me, alright?

One Dress a Day Challenge
June: Weddings
Leverage (s1e7, "The Wedding Job") / Beth Riesgraf as Parker, plus Lindsay Halladay as Maid of Honor
I really have to hand it to the Leverage costume team--they are positive geniuses at coming up with a truly terrible costume when the situation calls for it (here's another fine example of their work). This bridesmaid dress would be bad enough if it had just been overly ruched, shiny, and pink--but whoever decided to sprinkle it with blue roses deserves an Emmy. And just when you think it can't get worse, there are the gloves! Which appear to have some sort of frilly garter holding them on, because you can see in one picture that Parker is starting to pull the glove off, but there's still a band further up her forearm. Add blue open-toed shoes and a silly little tiara for the crowning (pun intended) touch.
The dress zips up the back and then a panel snaps over the fastening to hide it. I've included a shot of the back fastening for reference.
Also, for comparison and to prove that the dress really looks good on no one, here it is on Lindsay Halliday as the Maid of Honor from the same episode:

Supporting casts I miss
Roxy and Dubbilex from the Hawaii years of Superboy. They were his family.
The entire crew from '90s Impulse. Carol and Preston, especially, but Rolly and Eddie, too. I'd even like to see Wade and Ayana and Mike again. And White Lightning. And for her to have a name.
Hank and Dawn's college buddies from the '80s Hawk and Dove. Though I admit to being unsure how to translate Donna's "1980s young republican" personality into today's world.
