getting mildly annoyed with some things in shadow generations that were references to existing games or art or whatever being treated as completely new information by people in the fandom but then i have to remember that not everyone has all the sonic knowledge that i do and that the original source for the idea of maria being the one to name shadow is a short comic that was posted to the japanese socials forever ago and never got an official english translation and isnt really talked about often in fan spaces these days and this is the first time theyre talking about the origin of shadows name onscreen in a game . so maybe its kinda reasonable that not everyone knows about all this stuff and im the weird one in this situation for assuming people do

I like to think in the P.E au that Anya and Curly specifically get haunted hard by Jimmy's weird reality crossing guilt manifested.
It's targeting them because Jimmy's guilt grows more around them. The idea of him acting and playing nice despite what he did. It's like a buffet that allows it to pick from their plates.
Anya sees this stagnant version of her, blood from her mouth, clutching her stomach with a bottle of pills in her other hand. She's talking about not being heard, a pixel, relief from a burden. She tries to ask a question and it's never the right one. She's not understanding but in a way, she's getting that this version of her is in pain. She tries to help, extends a hand and asks how she can help, stop it. She stares and there's utter despair and disappointment in her eyes.
What did you do?
Curly sees this burnt mangled thing. But he can't call it that. Even with no skin and chipping teeth, covered in sullied bandages and smelling of death overdue, he can see his face. He can recognized that eye, he stares at it a lot in the mirror, usually a second one is attached but he digresses. They are just watching, staring and unmoving. He asks himself what happened, how can he help and his own retched mangled voice comes out from a empty maw.
I told you.
They have no idea what it really means. They don't know who to tell. Flashes of a life they don't know or maybe a future they haven't lived yet. Perhaps they treat it as their own minds trying to tell them something. They bare that burden themselves and that alone makes it heavier. Plumper. More appetizing to the guilt causing it.
Tragically that guilt is not their own.
#refining the au and the crew cant see the entity always but pretty much its always felt sort of like a mind over matter debacle#it is like the code scanner sections where only jimmy sees it but it can kinda interact with things to an extent like a force of negative#energy jimmy cant just outright tell them cause theyll just think he's insane but he can't ignore it cause he can't ignore the guilt anymor#anya and curly are its biggest targets as it is relatively easy for him to rectify the issues with Swansea and Daisuke vs the internalized#problems he has with Anya and Curly and its sort of about him no longer becoming that person he was in that future cause its the same#timeline but like divergence he was sent back with something awful and the story is less about forgiveness and more about repenting#hes still weird and an asshole he is being tormented but no one else gets seriously hurt so bittersweet#its like a fix-it but like imagine getting put into a perfect world with all the knowledge of ur fuck ups and now being haunted by the#guilt you will do the same shit again because you already have and having to prove you arent that person but then you also prove you didnt#ever have to be that person so you damn yourself even more like this doesn't end happy for Jimmy like ill tell you that but he'll actually#learn something so yeah thats somethting but everyone is still a little worse after this but can move on happily#the demons are tormenting each other by blaming them for Jimmy's actions invertedly cause while its not her fault anya in the reg timeline#def wondered if she stayed silent if this all wouldve happened even though it really isnt her fault and Curly knew deep down how bad Jimmy#was how bad he was to him and he likely told himself Jimmy would be the end of him and a lot of other but was so beaten down he couldnt go#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#curly mouthwashing#captain curly#anya mouthwashing#nurse anya#jimmy mouthwashing#pe au#thinking of calling it pestilent equine au? that sound good? we like P.E is just the short funny name for it?

i've gone to sleep angry and woken up angry every day since last saturday
#the flatmate who moved out was made CRYSTAL clear of her contractual duties to keep paying rent until she's been replaced on the lease#just like the other flatmate who moved out (and flatmate B is a student who works part time and has a deadbeat dad she can't move home to)#flatmate A works full time and will be living at home rent free and only moved out to go on a free holiday to mexico with her sisters#but it's flatmate A who's throwing a tantrum saying she wants her bond back and wants to stop paying rent now#even though no one's moved in to replace her on the lease WHICH WAS THE STIPULATION OF HER BREAKING IT EARLY#she KNEW this and she avoided all attempts at conversation about it before she moved out#but now that we're not face to face she's so brave over text with her lawyer sisters in her ear trying to tell us we're fucking her over#and trying to get us to pay HER RENT on top of our own#it's a fixed term lease you can only break it if you abide by the conditions the landlord sets#and the conditions were that she find someone to replace her on the lease#she's claiming that bc flatmate c (who's staying in the flat) moved into her room out of his couples room (bc him and flatmate b broke up)#that that somehow counts as her being replaced on the lease#no matter how many times we tell her that's not the case because how the fuck could he replace her when he's already on the lease#she refuses to listen. the great thing about reading a mediocre book is that it puts me right to sleep
#perfect bedtime activity#im halfway through the pairing and i genuinely keep falling asleep each time#only continuing for the italian sections so if something funny or interesting happens i can send it to res#the main problem is that i simply don't gaf about these characters like we know Nothing about them#and everything about their relationship is told not shown#in that way it kind of if feels like fanfic? like i'm supposed to know these characters already#'i didn't know where we ended and love began' 'love took root in me before i even knew its name' i don't know who they areeee#so the book starts with their breaking up and then they end up on the same european food tour and decide to see who can out-slut each other#like......that's it. and it's so obvious they still have feelings for each other. like what are the stakes!! it's so dull#it's fluffy in a way that makes me roll my eyes if that makes sense#like there was a chapter where they go into a bakery and the owner is panicking bc for Some reason literally all the staff couldn't show up#that day. so ofc the two characters on their own decide to step in and help her make all the pastries before opening time. huh?????#is that even possible??? literally having the worst day ever and i cant ever be happy (has only experienced minor inconveniences today but they keep adding up)
#first of all i didnt get a lot of sleep so im mad tired#second of all the place i usually get lunch on campus said they werent doing bagels at the moment and it ruined me#cuz i was soooo excited to get bagels#third of all i was already cranky so i got all in my feels last night#so i had a dream where my gf who isnt my gf and saw each other on one fo the campuses and she was w her friends#at one point we were both leaving and iw as watcing her and her and her friend knew i was there#so then her friend comes over and shes like '[gf name] loves you so much'#and i was about to cry tears of joy i was like REALLY???#and then her friend started laughing and gestured to my gf who isn't my gf's OTHER friend behind me and she was like 'jk lol she meant#this friend not you el oh el'#and then my gf and her friends were all laughing at me and i burst into tears#and then in full on sobs i was like 'i loved you so much how could you leave me'#and then my gf was just like 'well youre a bad person and you think youre sooooo myseterious and youre a terrible person and i never loved#you' and oh my god it ruined my morning#i know a lot of it was just psychological cuz i was already moody when i went to bed#and i have this werid paranoia where i think her and her friends talk shit about me#which i doubt they do but it still stresses me out#so thats probably why that hapepned#and then on top of all that. fourth of all im getting lunch and i literally see her outside. like i dont see her for days and of course#the day i least want to see her shes right there#i mean im generally doing better than september and i didnt feel the same sinking feeling#i used to in like sept but still like brooooo bro this day could not be worseee#the only good thing that happened was that i passed my physics exam <3#also yeah again i said these are minor inconveniences im just frustrated lol#sunny rambles

I'll never be able to take the theory that Vincent is Sephiroth's real father seriously cuz I cannot stress enough how important I think it is to the plot that Vincent wanted to fuck Lucrecia and did not get to.

fuck offff just cried watching a still wakes the deep playthrough
#and we like. had already seen a video essay on it so we knew what happens#and yet. it still hits so hard.#and like 70% of that is the voice actibg god all the vas are incredible#like. there was so much emotion.#obviously the narrative and script were a huge part of building the characters#but it could have easily been brought down by the voice acting#yeah. such an incredible game#like the story is SO GOOD and all the characters feel so real and the setting and environment just. agh#caz's va especially was incredible just as a character caz is amazing#especially as a player character like he is regularly audibly scared out of his mind and just trying to survive and keep those close to him#alive#and every single time he fails you feel for him#idk man just such a genuinely incredible game#and so refreshing compared to like gimmicky horror ya know?#the horror of swtd is watching people you know and have close bonds with succumb to their worst traits and become violent#and of fucking up and not being able to fix it like FUCK the part where caz's first daughter is born and he says he'll never leave#her or suze like. fuuuuuck#confluence.txt

#it was so fun but also impromptu as fuck which made me a bit nervous because i was not prepared lol#but it was still such a great time#i also realized how much i knew about dnd while helping everyone build characters#everyone was shocked when i was like oh yeah I've never actually played before#i have just consumed a concerning amount of critical role and dimension 20 and spent a lot of time looking at spells and subclasses lol#also i had like three ideas of characters to play and i originally settled on a grave cleric but the subclass was in a different book#so i ended up going with my wildfire druid who was pretty fleshed out but i realized i never named her#so i quickly tried to find a name in the middle of helping people build their characters#and when we actually started playing i straight up forgot my name and was oh shit that me lol#at least my wildfire spirit already had his name picked out lol#but that shit was so fun and we have a good mix of goofy characters and semi serious characters which is gonna make shit super interesting#although during our session zero trial fight my girlfriend did make me go unconscious but she fudged the numbers so i at least didnt die#at least my girlfriend is a gracious dm lol#personal
