Me: *extremely afraid of prison and the general concept of locked or closed doors*
Plural community: People like you are dangerous and should be imprisoned by the people who share your literal brain
#like yeah thanks that didn’t make me feel terrible and afraid at all#thankfully our headspace is only one room so even if they wanted to lock me up they couldn’t#there is no prison and we don’t have a gatekeeper to prevent me from fronting#also none of my headmates (not even Wade and that man hates me) have even ever suggested doing it#even like hearing about it from people who are against the concept is just too much for me#I’m serious about the closed door thing it really freaks me out when other people close the door to a room we’re in where the door isn’t#usually closed#(like the front door is fine but the door to an office or classroom? no fuck no I want to leave)#(and yes classroom doors are usually closed but I have school trauma so they’re an exception)#sorry for over sharing it’s sort of what I do lmao#- alexander

hello mae! I had a request I’d like to give you. I was wondering if you could write a poly!marauders x reader where reader has never slept beside anybody before bc intimacy isn’t something she’s used to therefore she’s not used to being that close to anybody. everytime she shifts she’s afraid to wake up the boys, or she just doesn’t know what to do.
I know you have “first night with marauders” so if this is too similar I totally get it. 🖤
Hello sweetheart, thank you for your request!
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 990 words
You’re terrible at this.
Each of the boys is sound asleep. Sirius has his leg hooked over yours and one of his arms tossed over James’ chest, Remus’ hand has to be halfway numb underneath your pillow, and James is snoring softly on the far side of the bed from you. They’re all so obviously comfortable, practiced in resting like this, whereas you started to get stiff a half hour ago and you’ve been unable to make yourself relax since.
Every movement takes a year, you’re trying so hard not to wake them. You feel like the girl in a movie who’s trying to sneak out of the bed of a one-night stand, all taut muscles and bated breath, except you only want to roll over. Slow, microscopic movements have to be the key.
Your back crackles softly when you shift your weight onto your other hip, and a sigh escapes you before you can stop it.
A low, croaky hum comes from just in front of your face. Your brain is a tempest of expletives.
“Hey.” You can nearly feel the gravel of Remus’ voice buzzing against your lips. “You’re up.”
Muddled with sleep, you can’t tell if his tone is reprimanding or simply observational. “Sorry,” you whisper regardless.
“Wha’ for?” Movement under the pillow beneath your head, and then a long-fingered hand is nestling beneath your cheek. His scars and calluses slide familiarly over your skin. “Can’t sleep?”
Nope, and now it’s two of you. Guilt grows vines around your ribcage. Remus sounds more awake by the second.
“I’ll be okay.” You press a soft kiss to the corner of his lips, hoping to mollify him. “Go back to sleep.”
Your boyfriend makes a half-aware disgruntled sound. “No, not without you.”
As exhausted as you are, you have to bite down on a smile. When he’s uninhibited like this, Remus really is quite the flirt, all his dorky, sweet thoughts coming out before he can remember to stop them. He’s nearly as bad as James.
You think he must see a hint of your smile in the dark, because Remus’ own lips tilt upwards. He leans closer to kiss the cool skin of your cheek, the only cold part of you thanks to a heavy duvet and the body heat of three lovely boyfriends. A kiss for a kiss.
He leaves his lips there as he murmurs, “What’s wrong, dove?”
Well, funny he should ask. What’s wrong now is the slight tickle of his stubble against your cheek, the hoarse quality to his voice in your ear. His breath warming your cold skin, and the hand he slides across the space between you to rest on your hip, layered in between the sheets and your pajama bottoms.
But you know that’s not what he’s asking.
“I can’t get very comfortable,” you confess, speaking so softly he wouldn’t be able to make it out if his ear weren’t two inches from your lips, “and I didn’t want to wake anyone up.”
Remus hums, as though this is a prognosis he’d already reached and was merely waiting for you to confirm. You can hear Sirius’ voice as clearly as if he were awake: know it all.
“They can sleep through anything,” he says. “One time the fire alarm went off, and James didn’t even stir. Don’t worry about them.” You must be emanating guilt, because he strokes his thumb over your hip pacifyingly. “And I don’t mind being woken up. I’m in and out of sleep all night anyway, it’s not hard for me to get back. You’re not used to sleeping with so many people, yeah?”
Your face warms at his phrasing, though of course you know what he means. “Or with anyone,” you murmur.
“Mm. I think I know what you need.”
You don’t realize Remus’ plan until he’s already sat up. He reaches over you, rubbing James’ shoulder gently while you protest vehemently through whispers.
James wakes with a yawn, taking Remus’ hand automatically and bringing it close to his face. “Wha’s’it?”
“Take her,” Remus requests drowsily. With his other hand, he nudges you forward.
James starts to blink his eyes open, and you see no way out. You start climbing over Sirius as delicately as you can. “Sorry,” you whisper, to him, to them, to the room in general.
Remus helps you out by tugging Sirius into your place. The other boy whines but settles quickly, rolling over to sling his leg over Remus’ instead.
James welcomes you as heartily as his sleep-addled state will allow, adjusting the covers over you and smudging a few toothpaste-scented kisses onto your face.
“Y’can’t sleep?” he asks.
You shake your head. “Sorry.”
He makes a soft dismissive sound. “C’mere, angel.”
You refrain from telling him that you’re already here as his arms find their way around you, soft and firm in all the right places and deliciously warm. He starts to make slow, sweeping circles onto your back with his hand.
“Jamie,” you murmur, grateful but embarrassed, “don’t stay up for me. Go to sleep.”
“M’basically there,” he replies. “You first, yeah?”
You can hear Remus’ breathing evening out behind you, syncing with Sirius’, and you’re suddenly sure that this is part of a routine he and the boys shared before you ever met them. That’s how he knew to hand you off to James, and how James knew exactly what to do. Something about that comforts you. And far be it for you to mess with tradition.
You shuffle closer to James under the covers. He obliges you happily, adjusting his grip so he’s holding you more securely, with your leg resting against his and your forehead an inch from his nose. The shushing of his heavy palm on the material of your pajama top is the only sound in the world.
You hear his breathing starting to deepen again, but James is right; you beat him there.

Lucifer with an artist reader
・❥ You’re hosting an art class, and the nude model is someone you never expected
| Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 |
xx: it’s a long one y’all 😭 we’re still in the pre-dating era! Slowburn, anybody? Forget the crumbs, have the whole loaf of bread, my swans ☺️
warning: brief mentions of nudity & mild swearing
After Lucifer’s initial tour of the hotel, he started coming around much more often.
He was beginning to reconcile with his daughter, and that meant making up for all the years he had missed out due to his self-isolation.
When Lucifer came to the hotel for Charlie, he always made time for you.
At first, when you had still been busy working away at the paintings for the hotel, he had used the excuse that he was just coming over simply to “admire the art.”
Nevermind that he crossed the entire hotel just to look at some paintings, but you never pried him about it. You’d be lying if you said you weren’t waiting in anticipation for his visits.
Sometimes, he would lean against the door frame in silence, watching as your brush glided across the surface of the canvas. He dared not to disturb you while you worked. Too afraid he’d cause you to slip up and place your brush in the wrong spot, ruining your piece.
He never would admit it, but the soft, feather-like strokes you made always seemed to lull him into a state of tranquil bliss.
If he had the opportunity to sit there for hours and watch you paint, he’d probably drift off into a peaceful sleep.
It was ASMR for the King of Hell.
You weren’t always sure whether he was admiring the painting, or you. You were too concentrated on making a leaf of a tree, or the surface of the water just right to trace his gaze.
You’d think with Lucifer being the embodiment of pride and his rank as ruler of the realm, he’d have demanded your attention instantly.
Instead, it was you who usually spoke first. “Are you going to sit down?” You’d tease with a warm smile, greeting him with a bat of your eyelashes as you soaked your brush with fresh paint.
“Of course, I just wanted to see your progress, it’s looks beautiful as always.”
You had hummed a thanks as he strode over to the flat cushion in the middle of the room, and collapsed in it. He had now claimed it as his personal spot ever since he had first used it when you let him use his wings for reference.
Every time he made himself comfortable, he would exhale a large sigh of relief, like he just walked out of a noisy and over-stimulating circus show.
His tolerance for people in general was still pretty dicey, but here, in the quiet corner of the hotel, he could reset his mind.
And with you there? He didn’t feel so lonely. Even in your silence, your presence and the multitude of large paintings leaning against the walls was all he needed to keep his mind from drifting off into darker thoughts.
“Boy, do you work fast. I can’t imagine what Hell would like if you were the one running things.”
“Probably terrible,” You had laughed, “I may be able to create art under time constraints, but the pressure of an entire realm on my shoulders? We’ll let the super-powerful-fallen-angel deal with that.”
“There goes my vacation,” He had sighed dramatically.
Sometimes, he’d catch you humming to an ancient tune, and every time he’d ask you about it.
“What song is this?” He’d ask, genuine interest lacing his voice.
“Innsbruck, ich muss dich lassen”
“I’m not even going to pretend to know what that means”
“ ‘Innsbruck, I must leave thee’ ,” you’d laugh, “It’s a German song and is, you guessed it, from the Renaissance.”
“Oh, right. Germany. Yeah, they were our biggest influx of souls back in the early 1900s,” He replied, “Must’ve been fun people.”
You shook your head at that. Right, ‘Fun’, that was a rather.. surface-level take on what that country had gotten into during that period of time.
“You should tell me more about the Renaissance.” He’d ask with puppy-dog eyes, which always made you set down your brush and turn to him. A content smile spreading across your face.
Your knowledge of such a time always intrigued him, the Renaissance as a whole did. For so long, he had desperately clung onto the hope that some of humanity would go on to create great and beautiful things due to his actions. That his Fall wasn't all for nothing.
Slowly, that hope fizzled out, and Lucifer’s growing delusion that Earth mirrored the sinful realm of Hell in more ways than one plagued his mind.
And then you appeared, passionate about Man’s most beautiful creations. Art, music, long-ago writings of sappy declarations of love in the form of poetry, and times when humanity’s intellectual and innovative nature flourished.
“It was absolutely magnificent,” You’d start, drawing from the depths of your mind all the imagery you could remember from when you were alive, “Filled with all kinds of artistic expression, painters that filled the ceilings of churches with heavenly imagery-“
Lucifer had snorted at that. This era in time had such a romanticized idea of what Heaven and their Creators were like. He pitied their ignorance.
“-and beautiful music. They were known for bringing to life a worldview known as Humanism. It was meant to bring back ancient philosophy — like from the Greeks — to uplift people to participate in the betterment of humanity, and to perpetuate much more virtuous actions. There must be a whole city full of them up there, I can't imagine anyone from that period ending up down here with how protective they were of their moral code.”
He’d always listen attentively in silence as you educated him. Sometimes, he’d even pull out the classic yellow rubber duck toy he held so close to his heart, and begin to fiddle with it as you spoke.
When he worked on them in your room, he’d curate them especially for you.
“Look! This one can refill your palette with the bestest freshest paint!” He’d exclaim as he wiggled it in the air, “And it still quacks!”
Every time, you’d pull up a cushion across the table from him, and rest your chin on your hand as you watched in amusement as he demonstrated his work.
In this instance, he squeezed the sides of the duck and it let out a pathetic Sqeaaooo and a glob of paint slid out of its mouth and plopped right onto the table. It splattered, leaving a few droplets on his pretty white overcoat.
Lucifer was a messy fella, and times like this made you growl quietly and reach for a wet cloth from your cleaning bucket. Hastily trying to rid his clothing of the bright red paint. Your movements across his sleeve made his body tense, and his breath quicken.
For someone who easily flustered you with abrupt acts of affection like the first time you met, Lucifer had the uncanny ability to turn his face as red as his cheek spots when you displayed such care towards him.
“It's still a work in progress.” He’d bashfully assure you every time something like that wouldn’t go as planned.
You’d wish Lucifer displayed such creativity outside of the yellow bath toy, but you promised yourself to help him down that path.
You could only imagine how many ideas this man had stored in that head of his, and you had a feeling you’d get him to wake up eventually. The thought of being there for him — with him, made your cheeks hot.
When it was finally time for him to leave the hotel — sometimes hours later, you’d walk him to the door of your little atelier and he’d turn to you, with that charming smirk and half-lidded look.
“Aren’t you going to say goodbye to Charlie?” You had ask, as he adjusted his hat and coat to depart.
“I already did before I got here,” he replied nonchalantly, as if you two existed in completely different buildings. Nevermind that she was a flight of stairs and a few halls away.
There were no more bold kisses to the limbs from him after your first meeting, to your displeasure. Even thinking about it gave you feelings that tugged painfully at your heartstrings and made you beg internally for more.
You desperately wished for him to softly hold your hand once more, to feel his lips graze your knuckles, to drink in the warmth of his touch.
Instead, he clutched his staff tightly, and dipped his hat to you.
“Until next time, Darling,” his voice, like silk, had echoed as waves of gold surrounded him. In a blink of an eye, you were left alone once more. Your heart pounding just like the first time, and every time after that.
Today, your heart was pounding just as fast. Except there was no Lucifer in sight.
Three days ago, you got a call from a good friend of yours who ran an art studio on the other side of Pentagram City. She realized she had double booked her classes, and had begged you to take over one for them.
“I’ve never taught anyone before…” You had trailed off over the phone, apprehensive to the idea.
“Nonsense! You are so well spoken, and you’re fantastic at this kind of stuff,” She exclaimed, “It’s not that hard, all you have to do is sit there while they trace the model and step in a few times to give them some tips on techniques. They aren’t a beginner class, so they shouldn’t need much instruction. You’re also in charge of guiding the model with the poses, but I already have a sheet that has them all, so you just need to follow along.”
You stood there for a moment, thinking. This was something totally strange to you. What were art classes like in Hell, anyway?
“Oh, AND they are going to be nude. At least partially, we make them cover their um, nether regions. That shouldn’t be a problem for you, right? I mean, you get paid for it so…”
Your friend trailed off, and the line went quiet for a moment as you mind raced. You looked around the now -empty atelier, your paintings finished and hung up around the hotel. You had nothing that was stopping you from doing it, not your skills, your time, or even the fact that the model was going to be exposed. You were in Hell, seeing someone like that was an almost daily occurrence. Telling her no just because of your nerves was a douchy thing to do, and you were far above that.
“Fine.” You conceded.
“YAYY!!” She shrieked in happiness, and you had to yank the phone away from your ear before it could start to bleed.
The next few minutes were her telling you where, when, and what to do. You had listened intently, memorizing her words. You didn’t want to make a fool out of yourself in front of strangers that you were teaching.
After hanging up the phone, had you went downstairs and to the hotel’s lobby to inform Charlie of your new job.
“I’m really sorry if this interferes with me working here, but I just couldn’t leave her hanging.”
“Pffft, it’s fine,” Charlie had waved it off, “You accepting the position as my new interior design manager is more than enough, i’m just glad you’re getting out of your comfort zone like this!”
You sighed a breath of relief. Good, no issues. You were worried she would have said no, and the fact she knows about Lucifer visiting you? Well, you weren’t sure how she was taking that. You never dared to ask, nor did she make any kind of indication her feelings about that.
“What’s it like?” She had asked, breaking you out of your thoughts.
“It’s nothing too bad, I think I might actually like it. I just help them with their techniques on mastering figure drawing by using a model as a reference. My friend says they are still looking for one to pose, so hopefully they find one in the next few days.”
“Interestingggggg” Charlie responded, her eyes holding a mischievous glint to them. You could see the gears turning in her head, but what for, you had no clue. You didn’t ask either.
You had spent the next few days preparing, you even had visited the studio. It was very pretty, and the room you were in was small, but rather homey. You had more confidence with your ability to lead the class now after locating specific areas of importance.
Which lead you to present day. You were hurriedly scrambling around the room, grabbing anything of necessity.
Your eyes jumped to the clock, and a squeak of panic escaped you as the class’ starting time got closer and closer. Finally placing the last pencil in your bag, you raced down the stairs, beelining for the door.
“Where you going in such a rush, Hot Cakes?” Angel Dust called out to you from the bar, Husk next to him as he poured Angel another drink.
“To class, do you know where Charlie or Alastor is?” You questioned them.
A rush of wind tickled your back, and you whipped around to see the Radio Demon himself looming behind you.
“Hello, my friend!” Alastor’s toothy grin on full display.
“I heard you were looking for Charlie, unfortunately she left not too long ago. She said it was something of great importance, and that it could shape the future of the hotel. But do not worry, I am here to assist you!”
You placed your hands together into a praying motion, trying your best to appeal to the demon’s better nature. If he had one.
“Can you pretty, pretty please send me to the Regal Fortune Studio? I’m doing a class there and I need to get there on time.” You begged.
Alastor’s eyes squinted in thought. Before his smile widened more than ever.
“Alright, I suppose so.”
You didn’t get to utter a thank you before the demon snapped his fingers, and dark energy crackled around you. Cold suddenly gripped at your shoulders, and your vision blurred.
You squeezed your eyes shut, unsure of what would happen next.
‘Please don’t kill me, please don’t kill me’
Suddenly, light hit your eyelids and you slowly opened them to see the studio before you, just steps away from the front door.
You exhaled a sigh of relief, before yanking open the door.
The door to the classroom was slightly ajar, and you could hear faint voices inside. Indicating that everyone but you was ready to begin.
You crossed the lobby, ready to pull on the handle of the door, before a slight movement in the corner of your eye caused you to turn your head.
At the far end of the room, you could partially see long, blonde hair sticking out into view. Then, you heard the stranger speak to herself. Quiet grumblings of a feminine voice as they berated themself.
You raised an eyebrow.. could it be?
“Charlie?” You asked slowly.
The stranger squeaked, their hair pulled out of view. You heard a thump against the wall, as though they’ve pressed themselves against it in an attempt to hide.
You slowly tip toed the hallway, before whipping your body around the corner, surprising the mysterious figure.
“Charlie!” You shrieked in surprise at the sight of her, crouched against the wall. Her eyes widened in shock, and she let out a shriek of her own. Her eyes darted around, before she pulled herself up to meet your gaze.
“Oh my gosh heyyyyy, I didn’t expect to see you here!” She mocked innocence.
“Bullshit,” you retorted, “I told you where I was going like three days ago. Why are you really here?”
Sweat beaded on her forehead, and she bit her lip. As if she was deciding whether to tell you the truth, or another lie.
Suddenly, she let go of the breath she held, her shoulders dropping in defeat.
“Okay.. the truth is, when you told me you were hosting an art class I was so thrilled! For you, of course. But then, I thought about how much you and my dad were getting along! Then, I thought about how you guys seemed to have the shared interest of art. So I.. told him about the class?”
“And?” You questioned, irritation lacing your voice. You really did not have time for this.
“And I told him about how you were still looking for a model, and you know how he is. He doesn’t have a problem doing things like that in front of people, and he’s getting better at being around people in general..”
You gripped Charlie by her shoulders when she trailed off again, shaking her.
“Spit it out! What about your dad?!”
“HE AGREED TO BE THE MODEL FOR YOUR CLASS BUT I HAD NO IDEA THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE NUDE UNTIL WE SHOWED UP BUT HE JUST SAID GOODBYE AND WALKED INTO THE BACK ROOM!!”
You stopped dead, your breath caught in your throat. You turned your head slightly, eyeing the classroom door.
“Your dad… is in there… naked?” You finally managed to get the sentence out, your gaze returning to Charlie in a look of disbelief.
This was a joke, right? There was noooo way you were going to walk in there a minute and see Lucifer there. This was just a terrible (-bly good?) dream.
Charlie nodded in defeat, her head hung low.
“I don’t even have the mental strength to go in there. I couldn’t stop him, even if I wanted to. He was dead set on this.”
You rubbed a hand along your face, gathering your thoughts.
“Well, there’s no stopping it now,” You said, rolling your shoulders in preparation, “Guess I have a class to teach.”
“Have fun..?” Charlie smiled innocently at you. Her plan was working, after all.
You shot her a glare before crossing the lobby once more, and pulled open the door. You stepped inside, breath hitched, and gently shut the door behind you.
In front of you, four older women sat behind easels with a blank white canvas attached. If they noticed your arrival, they didn’t show it. Instead, they giggled in the direction of the slightly lifted stage. You couldn’t see who was on the stage, but the familiar voice with giddy amusement told you exactly who it was.
“You’re finally here!” Lucifer called, and you did nothing but stand there for a moment.
Straightening your back, you exhaled a deep breath, and walked forward. Right past the stage. You kept your eyes in front of you, ignoring the golden gaze that trailed your figure.
You positioned yourself between the platform and the women who had finally stopped giggling and whispering to each other, and cleared your throat.
“Hello, everyone. I’m your instructor for today, unfortunately Renee couldn’t be here today. We’ll be going over the usual though, figure drawing with the model present today.”
You squeezed your eyes shut, before opening them with renewed energy.
Slowly, you turned on your heels and pivoted in the direction of the platform. Your eyes widening at the sight.
Before you, on a long, red couch lay the King of Hell. Lucifer Morningstar, in all his glory. Shirtless, with no pants in sight. Thankfully, a thin, barely-hiding-anything sheet covered his waist section.
You met his gaze, a playful smirk etched on his lips. He wiggled his eyebrows at you, gauging for a reaction.
You made sure not to give him one. If he thought he was going a reaction from you in front of all these people, he was wrong.
“Let’s start by doing a quick sketching exercise, take about ten minutes to do your best and draw the model in front of you. Once the timer goes off, we’ll review and go over some techniques, before switching to a much longer pose.”
You clicked the timer, and the faint ticking of its gears cemented you into reality.
“Is that Lucifer?” One of the ladies whispered to her friend a chair over. Her friend shrugged, “I have no idea.. but boy, is he handddssoomee.”
You pressed your lips together, trying to ignore their gossip.
Sitting in the chair farthest from the group, you crossed your arms, your gaze resting on the floor. Was he looking at you right now?
You sat there for a moment, before realizing you couldn’t ignore him forever. He was the model after all. Soon you’d have to be helping him change poses anyway.
You looked up, drinking in the view. He was lazily leaning against the back of the velvet couch,
His hair, with no hat to cover it, stuck to his face messily with sweat. As he adjusted his head, a few strands of curls fell in front of his eyes. His intense stare slightly masked.
Was the room getting hot, or was it just you?
His eyes were locked on you, that stupid smirk still on his face. You sent daggers back to him.
He replied with a wave of his fingers.
You refused to let yours eyes travel any farther than his face, not ready for what kind of images your mind would give you regarding what was underneath the sheet.
“Did you know the Renaissance was pretty famous for constantly expanding its artistic art forms?” A voice smooth as butter filled the silence.
What the hell was he doing?!
“Believe it or not, the naked human was a very big inspiration for many of their paintings. No sheet in sight.”
Some of the women perked up in interest at Lucifer’s words. You couldn’t tell if they were actually interested in what he had to say, or just to hear his voice as it commanded the room’s attention.
“For an era so virtuous,” He teased the last part, reminding you of your discussion days earlier, “They so did love their scandalous marble status.”
He let that sink in, and you rolled your eyes dramatically at him. You couldn’t believe this was how Charlie planned on setting the two of you up.
A candle lit romantic dinner? Nah. A trip to the movies? Boring, apparently.
Were you against the idea of getting closer with the ‘Big Boss of Hell’? Of course not! He made you laugh and was actually interested in your ideas. This was just not how you expected it to go down.
“Keep talking, pretty boy!” One called from behind her easel.
Before he could speak again, the timer shrieked in your palm. You shot up from your seat, clasping your hands together loudly.
You turned your back to Lucifer as you began instructing the class, showing them a few techniques on how to straighten their lines, and how to hold their pencil just the right way that would give them a much thicker line for specific parts of the body.
“Alright, now, we’re going to have the model switch positions.”
Grabbing the paper that held all the different poses, you held it out to him, your finger tapping against the specific one in question. It showed the figure in a front facing view, one hand closed in a fist supported their chin, the other tucked neatly underneath. As if they were listening intently to some hot gossip.
“I’m afraid I can’t see what‘s on the paper. Perhaps, if you come a little closer and show me?
You groaned internally, he was enjoying this too much. You strided over to him. His gaze followed you, his grin only widening as you closed in on where he laid.
“You need to turn facing them,” You commanded the King himself. He pivoted, his body fully facing the group of gawking onlookers. He gave them a wink, and they hid behind their easels, their whispers fast and beathless.
“Now, you have to move your arm.. like this.” You spoke, reaching out one hand. You hesitated for a minute. You’ve never been so.. upfront with like this.
Reaching down, you gently circled your fingers around his wrist. Slowly, you allowed your hand to slip down, reaching his forearm.
His body was hot to the touch, and you felt like melting right then and there. Maybe it was time just to accept defeat, this man was just too good looking.
You felt the muscles of his arms shift, and you halted for a half a second.
Did he just tense?
Maybe you weren’t the only one who could be teased.
You guided his arm forward, and then up. Sliding your fingers, ever so gently, around his knuckles. You squeezed, and his hand enclosed into a fist. You guided it underneath his chin.
“Touchy today, aren’t we?” He spoke quietly to you, his voice dripping with velvet allure as you positioned him as the image on the paper showed.
“You be quiet.” You scolded him, trying your best to bring on your most serious face.
His quiet chuckle in response made you drop the face instantly. It was obvious you were pretty bad at this kind of thing, at least compared to Lucifer.
You grabbed his other arm, and gently tugged it underneath. Letting it lay neatly below him.
Taking a step back, you admired your work.
You were going to return to your seat, before a thought crossed your mind. You took a step forward, closing in on Lucifer again.
“And one more thing…” You started.
Using two fingers, you grazed the bottom of his chin, firmly pressing upward. Instinctually, his head followed the motion. He met your eyes, his gaze intensifying.
“Good boy.” You teased, your voice laced with a hint of sultry satisfaction.
You didn’t miss his pupils dilating into slits and his breath hitching slightly. You just turned on your heels, not giving him a second glance before returning to your seat.
You tilted your head at him slightly, looking at him through your eyelashes. Your lips curling into a provocative smirk as you gripped the timer.
Maybe now this would be an even match.
“Begin.”
Time flew by once more, and this time, Lucifer refused to meet your gaze. Instead, he was purely focused on the easels in front him.
“Tell me, my dear artist,” He began, addressing the demon woman before him. Her eyes widened when she realized he was speaking to her.
“If we were back in the Renaissance, would I make quite the muse?”
“Pardon?” The lady asked timidly, her voice coming out in a whisper.
“How about a statue? Think about that. Tall, Marble-skinned, and… lacking this rather uncomfortable cloth.”
The woman’s face turned bright red. Her mouth opened and closed, her tongue refusing to cooperate. Lucifer knew how to play this game well.
Then, he turned his head to you.
“What about you, stranger? Would you think i’d look good in such a form?”
You crossed your legs, leaning back in your chair.
“If the statue could stay quiet, while the class finished their work. Then, perhaps.”
The angel huffed, averting his gaze. He blew a few strands of hair out of his face, before continuing his blank stare at the wall.
The timer in your palm rang once more. You lifted yourself out of the chair. This was it, the last pose.
You strided back to Lucifer, his smoldering gaze on your figure as you approached.
For this pose, he needed to be off his stomach. You weren’t going to roll him like a log, or go anywhere near his torso. That was too brazen of an act for you to commit to, at least with all the eyes on you. Instead, you squeezed your eyes shut and gripped the white sheet. You tugged with all your might.
With an oomph he rolled along with it, he shoulder blades digging into the cushions as he landed exactly where you wanted.
Before the ladies could get even a glimpse, you hurriedly adjusted the sheet back onto him.
“Impressive, bending the devil himself to your will.” He commented as you continued to adjust his arms.
Ignoring him, you moved onto his legs, positioning them slightly.
“Careful~” He chided.
You said nothing to that either. Once he was in the correct pose, you released him. You glanced at his hair, now messily covering his face.
You reached forward and, splaying your fingers, pushed his hair back behind his head. You let your nails softly graze his scalp before you tugged them free.
“Sorry, can’t have your curls covering your face for the girls back there.”
“I bet they wished they were in your position,” Lucifer hummed “Few rarely are.”
You chuckled softly, “Please, the view looks better from back there.”
He let out an audible “Ha!” as the words left your lips and you turned away from him once more. You knew that must’ve stung, sending a blow to the prideful king’s ego.
Thirty minutes went by as you sat there, you spent more time examining your hands than meeting the gaze of the angel across the room.
This had turned into quite an eventful class, you couldn’t lie. You also didn’t expect such a shameless attitude from Lucifer, he was much more timid back in your painting room. Perhaps there was a side of him you still had yet to meet.
To be honest, sitting here, watching the clock tick by, you were pretty surprised this man had managed to stay near-perfectly still these past few hours.
Another thirty, and the timer rang its last chime. You had been positioned behind the drawing ladies, giving them critiques on their work.
You ignored the fact it was Lucifer you kept staring at on their canvas, instead simply regarding it as charcoal lines in need of straightening.
You wished them farewell at the doorway as they left. You hoped they had at least a pleasant time, since they’d have at least a good story to tell to their girlfriends over the phone.
Shutting the door with a soft thud, you sat there for a moment before your shoulders dropped in exhaustion. You honestly weren’t used to that kind of atmosphere, since your work consisted of you alone in a quiet room all day.
Taking a few steps backwards farther into the room, your gaze landing on the couch atop the platform. It was empty. Your eyes widened, did Lucifer just leave you here?
You rushed out of the classroom and strode into the lobby, searching for any signs of him.
“Wow, that little sneaky piece of-”
“I’m right here.” Came a familiar voice behind you.
You jumped, whipping around to find Lucifer dressed fully. Hat and all. Now this is what you were used to. Crossing your arms, you raised an eyebrow.
“What was that back there?” You motioned to the room behind you.
“My daughter invited me to look good in front of people and I did an outstanding job, as usual.”
“As the model? You couldn’t have just used your position as King to get a spot behind the easel instead?”
Lucifer grinned widely, leaning back against the wall. Could this have been his plan, and not Charlie’s? Now you weren’t so sure.
“Unfortunately, not many of us have a skill as perfected as yours with a brush.”
You accepted that praise. You had worked hard for it.
“And, not many people have as great of a photogenic face as me. So, we’re square.”
You chuckled, shaking your head as you walked away. Lucifer kept pace as you both exited the studio, heading toward the curb.
“That reminds me,” Lucifer halted, reaching into his pocket to fish for something.
You stopped beside him, the mystery item in his coat pocket piquing your interest.
“I fixed it!” He held the the paint-vomiting rubber duck out to you, wiggling it in delight.
“You did?”
“That’s right. This bad boy can now pop out six different colors, you just have to pull its beak.”
“That actually really cool,” You laughed, taking the rubber toy from him. You turned it in your hands, maybe later you’d pretty it up with some fresh paint.
You looked up at him again, his golden eyes shimmering from the bright neon backdrop. You have much more to say to him, but your thoughts were jumbled from the day. There was one, though.
“You know, next time you should just ask.” You gripped the duck firmly in the palm of your hand, lowering your arm.
“Ask what?”
“Don’t play dumb with me, Luci. You’re telling me you hijacked my class because you had a change in career choice?”
His smile turned playful again, and he pivoted to face you, shrugging nonchalantly.
“Maybe, maybe not. That depends if i’ll be seeing you next week?” His eyes met yours with a questioning stare.
You gave him a warm-hearting smile, nodding your head.
“As always.”
His smile widened, and with a tap of his staff. Golden waves cascaded around you. It wasn’t cold, like Alastors. Instead, it was warm and relieving, like face planting into your pillows after an exhausting day.
As your vision began to obscure, you saw his face peak into the cascades of light, his hand reaching forward.
“I almost forgot.” His voice echoed, distorted by the magic as it circled them.
His hand enclosed around your own, and planted a kiss right onto your wrist. His lips lingered for a moment, as did his grip around your hand, as if your time together was too fleeting to let go.
You promised silently it wasn’t.
The light rushed over you suddenly, and you had to squeeze your eyes shut to keep from being blinded. Lucifer’s touch vanishing with your sight.
Feeling your feet planting on solid ground, your eyes widened to familiar surroundings of the hotel lobby. You were home, and Lucifer was no where in sight.
“Hey, Hot Cakes!” Angel Dust called, still seated in the same spot at the bar, “How’d it go?”

It’s a little after eleven when Eddie finally manages to get Tarja to bed. It’s hard for her without her plushie. And really, Eddie is very thankful having a hyper-fixation with her toy seems to be the only ‘consequence’ of having divorced parents Tarja seems to have right now. He always worries if having two homes and constantly moving between them is good for her or not. Especially with Tommy being Tarja’s other dad, but against all odds, he’s good to her. So their kid is doing just fine. She’s happy. And if she’s happy, Eddie is happy.
He’s getting ready to open a beer and relax when there’s a knock on the door. He smiles, assuming is Steve bringing Toothless over and almost knocks his beer to the floor when he opens the door.
Steve looks… well he looks amazing, dressed to the nines. Must’ve been date night. But his eyes are red and puffy, his face covered in dark blotches, and his lips are swollen like he’s been biting them too much.
He’s hugging Toothless to his chest and he smiles at Eddie when he sees him, but he looks so sad it breaks his heart.
Eddie throws the beer behind him, sure it will land on the couch and cradles Steve’s face between his hands, “What did that asshole do?
Steve leans into his touch and shuts his eyes for a moment before sighing and stepping away from him, walking inside and sitting on the couch still holding Toothless like a lifeline.
“Nothing, he was just-” Steve shakes his head and chuckles darkly, “He’s just so mean,”
Eddie drops to his knees in front of him and dips his head to look Steve in the eye just like he did that day in the park.
“Break up with him,” he says.
“I can’t.”
“Tommy doesn't deserve you, Steve. You are worth so much more than what that asshole makes you feel. You deserve better. More. Everything,” Eddie pleads, placing his hands on Steve’s knees and squeezing, “If it’s because of Tarja, we’ll figure something out, ok? Lots of people keep in contact with their parent’s significant other after they break up” He rushes, the speech he didn't have quite prepared last week coming out of him in a single breath, “We are friends, right? So you can still visit and see her. Visit me. You don’t have to stop being a part of our lives.”
Steve is staring at him right now like Eddie just gifted him the moon and he’s so beautiful it’s kind of hard for Eddie to keep eye contact, but he squeezes Steve’s knees again to ground himself and does. Steve needs to know he’s very serious about this. About him.
Eyes shining, Steve takes a deep breath and nods slowly, a tear falling down his cheek that Eddie follows with his eyes and watches until it hides under Steve’s v-neck shirt.
“Hey, even I didn’t put up with Tommy's shit for Tarja’s sake and I birthed her,” he jokes awkwardly, trying to make him laugh and feels like doing a little victory dance when Steve snorts cutely,
“Okay,” he hiccups.
“Yeah?” Eddie smiles back at him, relieved.
“Yeah,” Steve sighs, “Fuck Tommy.” And drops back on the couch, looking exhausted, “Can I stay here tonight?” he asks in a whisper, like he’s afraid Eddie will say no. As if.
“Yeah, of course,” Is what he answers, and has half a mind to invite him into his bed but knows it’s a terrible idea. So he lends Steve his favorite flannel pajamas and sets blankets and a pillow on the couch and they say their goodnights.
And if he does a little dance when he closes the door to his room, no one is there to see.
In the morning, Steve stays for breakfast. And attempts to kill Eddie by making his heart explode, cooking it himself from scratch with Tarja’s help, who is so happy she won’t stop running around the kitchen making Toothless fly and sing about ‘happy family breakfast time’.
It’s actually hard to tell if she’s happier to have her plushie back or that Steve is there. Eddie, on the other hand, knows exactly what he’s happiest about. Death by tenderness. Is that a thing? He amuses himself thinking about a couple csi’s with sunglasses saying it,
“He died because he witnessed something too cute,”
“Ah yes, death by fondness. I’ve seen it before.”
After, Eddie walks him to the door and Steve smiles sweetly at him, and holds his hand, squeezing it once before letting go, “Well, see you. I guess,” he says bashfully and there’s a moment there, a second where time stops and Eddie thinks he should kiss him. Wants to kiss him, needs to kiss him.
But he doesn’t. Because Steve is still dating Tommy, and just because he said he was going to break up with him doesn’t mean he wants to start something new with Eddie.
Eddie himself called him his friend for the first time last night for christ sake. ‘Fucking chill’ he thinks to himself.
🧸
And then a week goes by without hearing a word from Steve. But Eddie doesn't hold it against him.
At first, he figures he needs time to think but then he starts to wonder if he really is going to break up with Tommy. Four days in, he gets paranoid about it. Maybe Steve got brainwashed into thinking Eddie is bad for him. Maybe Tommy told him Eddie was putting ideas in his head, that he shouldn’t talk to him anymore… With him telling Steve to break up with his boyfriend and all...
He’s well aware of how manipulative Tommy can be and has seen the way he belittles Steve to keep him around, so he knows it’ll be hard for Steve to actually go through with it.
And he can’t exactly show up at Tommy’s and steal Steve away, no matter how appealing the idea might be. The only thing he can do is just think of Steve, wish him well, and send him strength to do what he needs to do. At the end of the day, it needs to be his decision. His choice.
As Tommy’s week with Tarja approaches he starts getting more and more anxious, wondering if it’ll be Steve or Tommy who picks her up.
When the day finally arrives, and the doorbell rings, Tarja runs to open the door and Eddie peeks his head through the hallway.
“Daddy!” Tarja screams.
“Hey, Tata! You ready?” Tommy says and Eddie steps into the hall to greet him too.
“Not yet!” Tarja chuckles and Tommy smiles at her,
“Okay, go get ready. I’ll wait here,”
Eddie walks to the door and leans on the doorframe, “Hey,”
“Hi. Long time no see,” Tommy says and then adds, “You look great,”
“You don’t,” Eddie answers, because it’s true. He looks like shit. Greasy hair, bags under his eyes, chapped lips, wrinkles on his clothes, “What happened?”
“Steve broke up with me.”
Eddie’s eyes go wide and he smiles, he doesn’t even try to hide it, “He did?”
“Don’t smile, fucker,” Tommy says but there’s no heat behind it. He knows he deserves it.
“Sorry,” Eddie says, not sorry at all.
“Stop,” Tommy whines because Eddie’s smile is actually getting bigger,
“Sorry,” he repeats and then clears his throat, “Did he tell you why?”
“Because I’m a horrible person,” Tommy groans.
“Hey, the first step is to ad-”
“To admit it, yeah, yeah. I know” Tommy interrupts him, groaning again.
Eddie sighs, and punches Tommy’s shoulder lightly, “Look, Tommy, I’m just going to say this because, well… you are pathetic. You need to do better.” And then he points to his back, to where Tarja’s disappeared to get her stuff, “She’s going to grow up and realize you are an awful person and she’s not going to want you in her life. And I’m not going to dissuade her from it, because I already don’t want you to be in mine, you know that, right?”
Tommy looks at him seriously and then nods once, fast and hard. Like he gets it. Like he agrees and is determined to change. And Eddie hopes for Tarja’s sake he is. But knows, deep in his heart, that either way, she’s going to be fine.
“Also, just a heads up. I’m in love with Steve and I’m going to ask him out,” he adds in a rush when he hears Tarja running up behind him.
“You are shitting me,” Tommy whispers, shocked and clenching his teeth.
Eddie laughs, “Nope,” he says, closing his lips loudly around the P.
“Eddie,” Tommy warns him like he’s waiting for Eddie to say he's joking.
“What? I hear he’s single,” Eddie smirks.
“You motherfuc- Hey Tata!” Gathering Tarja in his arms, Tommy drops the subject but he glares at Eddie as he kisses Tarja’s cheek goodbye and murmurs ‘unbelievable’ as he’s leaving. Eddie closes the door and starts laughing at the look on Tommy’s face.
He needs to call Steve.
He tries a couple of times but he doesn’t pick up and he starts worrying Steve might not actually want to talk to him, and then there’s a knock on the door but Eddie, too preoccupied with his anxiety, opens without looking, thinking Tarja forgot something.
When he doesn't hear her, Eddie looks up from his ‘ignored calls’ screen to see nonother than Steve standing there, looking nervous and like a fucking dream with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. A fucking bouquet of flowers. For him. For Eddie. All different shades of red, because he knows is his favorite color.
Eddie just blinks at him a couple of times and Steve flushes even more and drops the hand holding up the flowers, scratches the back of his neck nervously, “This was stupid, the flowers were fucking stupid. They are stupid. I’m stupid, right?”
A laugh bubbles out of Eddie and he grabs him by the scruff of his shirt and pulls him inside. He closes the door once they are both in and slams Steve against it, crushing their lips together. Steve circles his arms around Eddie and holds him close, instantly returning the kiss with fervor.
They kiss as if it were fate. They kiss until it's hard to breathe and Eddie pulls away only to kiss him again, and again, and again.
“Not stupid,” he murmurs between kisses and feels Steve’s smile against his lips.
Eventually, Eddie takes a step back and lets Steve into his home properly, “Hi,” he says cheesily.
“Hi,” Steve says back grinning, then he lifts up the bouquet again, which is now completely ruined by him still holding it strongly while they made out like crazy, and his smile drops,
“Shit,” he pouts cutely, god Eddie wants to eat him. He laughs and takes the flowers anyway, putting them in an empty glass bottle, because he doesn’t own a flower vase, because he’s a normal human being. ‘Who the fuck owns a flower vase?’
“Come here,” he says, holding out both hands for Steve to take and follow him.
Steve takes his hands but doesn't move, instead swings them from side to side, “Wait, let's talk,”
Fuck, yeah. They should. That’s a good idea. Fuck. Damn, Steven Whatever-The-Fuck-Is-His-Middle-Name Harrington and his sensible and very logical choice…
Eddie huffs exaggeratedly making Steve chuckle and redirects them to the couch, where they sit still holding hands, “Alas,” he says dramatically, “You are right, we should talk. I actually wanted to ask you out properly, not debauch you the second you walked through the door. Sorry about that” he lies, not sorry at all, again.
Steve blushes and smiles, drawing little circles with his thumbs on Eddie’s hands, “Yeah me too. I wanna do this right. Ask you out. Go on dates. I think we should take this slow,”
Eddie makes a face and groans at that. He doesn't want to take it slow. He wants Steve to move in right now or something. Steve rolls his eyes amused at his interruption and keeps going,
“I came here to ask you out the right way because I want you to know I’m committed. But we should think about how this will affect Tarja… and Tommy too. We should go out a few times, spend some time alone, and I want you to meet my friends and my parents and I want to meet your friends and your uncle too and just do this properly and-”
Eddie interrupts him with a kiss, he can’t take it anymore, he’s been dying to kiss Steve for months now and he’s so sweet and thoughtful it makes Eddie insane, makes him feel like he needs to ruin him, but in a nice way, like with devotion and love.
Steve lets go of his hands to wrap his arms around Eddie’s waist and hoists him until he’s straddling Steve. Eddie leans his elbows on Steve’s shoulders, and buries his hands in his hair, pulling and messing with it.
“Okay but have you considered having hard, hot, wet sex, and then maybe we do what you said?” He asks panting against Steve’s lips and actually feeling how that punches the air out of him.
He hugs Eddie closer to his chest and whines, “Yeah okay, we can do it your way,” and gets up, lifting Eddie with him as if he were weightless. Eddie squawks and laughs all the way to his room.
🧸
They spend the week together, talking, eating, drinking, laughing and fucking. Except it’s more than that because when Eddie is inside Steve, with his tongue, his fingers, or his strap, it feels like more. It feels like love. Like fate.
Steve, still determined to take things slow, doesn’t stay there all the time, going back to Robin’s where he moved back to after breaking up with Tommy. He actually brings her over one day and the three of them spend the afternoon together. Eddie decides they are going to be best friends immediately because Robin is hilarious and merciless. When Steve gets back the next day he kisses Eddie so good and hard his knees almost give out on him and tells him he has Robin’s seal of approval. Something he knows Tommy never got.
When the week passes Eddie says goodbye theatrically as if they were cross-star lovers in a bad soap opera and Steve chuckles and calls him ridiculous but kisses him so passionately that Eddie drags him right back inside and they say goodbye again a few hours later.
They had decided to wait until Eddie talked to Tarja about her feelings over Tommy’s and Steve’s breakup and whether she still wanted Steve around or not before having him over again.
But when Tarja gets back home she’s gloomy and silent. She hugs Eddie in greeting when she arrives and then spends the rest of the day lying face down on the floor and occasionally sighing loudly, obviously trying to make Eddie ask her what’s wrong.
And really, Eddie shouldn't find it as funny as he does, but he thinks about calling Wayne and telling him he gets it now when Wayne used to tell him he had too much personality.
Eventually, he lies on the floor next to her and asks. Tarja looks at him with big sad eyes and says, “I haven't seen Steve in a million years! And Daddy said he is not his boyfriend anymore! So I’ll never see him again and I miss him”
Eddie coos at her, “I’m sorry you miss him little dragon, but you can totally see him again! Would you like me to call him? Since he’s my friend too?” Already trying to strategize on how to tell her they are more than friends.
Tarja lights up and jumps off the floor and onto Eddie, punching the breath out of him, “Yes! Yes! Call Steve! Steve smiles more when he’s with you than he did with daddy anyway. Why don’t you boyfriend him instead?”
Well… that was easy.
He chuckles and shakes his head, “That’s a great idea sweety, go grab my phone,”
Tarja runs and grabs Eddie’s phone off the table and hands it to him, he doesn’t bother getting off the floor so she kneels beside him listening attentively as he dials Steve’s number.
“Hi, handsome, you talked with Tarja already?” Steve greets him after it rings twice.
“Yeah about that, turns out Tarja talked to me, actually,” he chuckles, “Hi, by the way”
“Hi,” Steve repeats lovingly and laughs, “What do you mean?”
“She had this awesome idea!” he says winking at her and she covers her mouth with her tiny hands to hide her giggles, “That, since you are not with Tommy anymore, you should be my boyfriend instead,” he continues, voice going soft and chuckles when he hears Steve's breathless ‘oh’ on the other side of the line, “Come over?”
“Of course, gimme an hour? I'm with a client” Steve hums and Eddie whispers he’ll give him anything he asks for and hangs up.
An hour later Tarja is still lying on the floor, only now it’s with papers and crayons spread all around her when the doorbell rings. She looks up at Eddie excitedly and he nods at her, “Go on then”
Tarja runs to the door and opens it wide to reveal Steve standing there as beautiful as ever, giving Eddie a deja vu of the first time he saw him.
“Papa Steve!” Tarja yells and jumps up to hug him.
Steve gasps and falls to his knees with her in his arms and looks up at Eddie with shocked wet eyes.
‘So much for taking it slow,’ Eddie thinks with a smirk.
Fin.

Teach You III
warnings: smut, all the way baby
word count: 3k
summary: a continuation of part I & 2 daryl has 0 game, 0 experience, and is eager to please. oral (f!receiving), unprotected p in v, reader is gentle with Daryl. Some dirty talk :)
notes: I couldn't keep it from you any longer, thank you for being so patient with the edits, I tend to post and then proofread after (terrible idea)
The next morning
The golden morning light filters through the room, casting soft, hazy shadows across the bed. Daryl’s arm is still draped over her waist, his touch warm and tentative, like he’s afraid to hold on too tightly.
He doesn’t know how long he’s been awake, but he hasn’t moved, hasn’t dared to break the fragile stillness of the moment. His chest rises and falls against her back, his breaths steady but shallow, and his fingers flex against her hip like they’re testing whether this is real.
The night flashes through his mind in fragments, each one enough to leave his pulse thrumming all over again. Her hands on him, her lips, the way she’d whispered his name like a prayer. He doesn’t understand how it happened—how someone like her could want him, need him like that—but the evidence is right here, her soft, warm bare body pressed against his, her breathing slow and even in the morning light.
He shifts his head slightly, just enough to catch the faint scent of her hair, and the familiarity of it makes his chest ache. She smells like apple shampoo—like home, safety. Everything he never thought he’d have.
Her back presses against his chest, her body relaxed and content, but he can feel the tension in his own—the way his muscles are coiled tight, the way his breathing is just a little too controlled. He doesn’t want to wake her, doesn’t want to ruin whatever peace she’s found in the moments before the day begins.
But then, she stirs. Her body shifts slightly against his, her hand intertwining over his where it rests on her waist. Her fingers brush his, light and deliberate, and his breath catches in his throat.
“Morning,” she murmurs, her voice soft and full of warmth as she shifts slightly against him. Her plush bum moves against him, and Daryl makes a low sound in his throat, a mix between a grunt and a hum, but he doesn’t pull away. His hand slides along her side, his touch light and lingering, and she can feel the hesitation in him.
“You alright?” she asks, tilting her head back to glance at him.
His eyes flicker to hers, then dart away just as quickly. “Yeah,” he mutters, his voice rough with sleep as he kisses her shoulder. “Just… dunno if you…” He trails off, his jaw tightening as he stares at the far corner of the room.
She turns in his arms, her hand sliding up to cup his cheek, her thumb brushing over the rough scruff along his jaw. “Daryl,” she says softly, waiting until his eyes finally meet hers. “If you’re gonna ask if I regret anything, the answer’s no. Not a single thing.”
The tension in his shoulders eases, but there’s still a flicker of doubt in his gaze. “Told ya I ain't ever...” he says quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. “Just didn't want to mess it up.”
Her smile is gentle, her fingers tracing light circles against his jaw. “You didn’t mess up anything,” she reassures him. “You made me feel incredible. And I want more.”
His breath hitches, his grip on her waist tightening slightly. “More?” he asks, like he doesn’t quite believe her.
She leans in, her lips brushing against his in a soft, teasing kiss. “Yeah, more,” she murmurs against his mouth, her fingers trailing up into his hair as she shifts her body to straddle his hips.
His breath stutters, his hands coming to rest on her thighs, but they stay still, hesitant. Her hands slide over his shoulders, steadying herself as she leans closer, her lips brushing against his ear.
“I want you, Daryl,” she whispers, her voice low and inviting. “Right here. Right now. If you're ready.”
He groans, low and rough, his hands twitching as they slide down to her thighs, but when she moves to guide him, he shakes his head slightly. “Wait,” he says, his voice thick. “I… I wanna...can I?"
She pulls back just enough to meet his gaze, her smile soft but teasing. “Oh?” she says, raising an eyebrow. “You wanna take charge now?”
His cheeks flush, but his hands slide to her waist, gripping her gently but firmly. “Wanna… wanna make you feel good,” he admits, his voice faltering but full of intent. “Just… lemme try.”
Her heart swells at the vulnerability in his voice, and she nods, sliding off him to settle back against the pillows. “Alright,” she says softly, her voice full of warmth as she watches him. “Take your time.”
He hovers over her, his hands braced on either side of her as he lowers himself down. His lips find hers again, tentative at first but growing bolder with every passing second. His body is warm and solid against hers, and the softness of her against him feels grounding, comforting.
“Tell me what you like,” he murmurs against her lips, his voice low and rough, and she can feel the sincerity in every word.
She smiles, her hands sliding up his back to rest between his shoulder blades. “I like you,” she whispers, her tone playful but full of truth. “And I like everything you’re doing.”
He looks down at her, his gaze lingering on the beginnings of the flush of her skin, the way her chest rises and falls beneath him, and the soft, inviting curve of her lips.
His cheeks are flushed too, but he doesn’t look away this time, suddenly moving down her body, “Wanna taste you again. Didn’t… didn’t get enough.”
Her breath catches, her heart stuttering at his words. “Daryl,” she murmurs, her tone laced with both surprise and affection.
He doesn’t waste time, his movements a little quicker now, though still careful, as he kisses his way down her body. His lips linger over her collarbone, her chest, and the soft swell of her stomach, each kiss deliberate and reverent.
When he reaches her hips, his hands slide along her thighs, coaxing them apart with a gentleness that makes her shiver. His gaze flickers up to meet hers as he settles between her legs, nipping at the skin of her.
He ducks his head, his hair falling into his eyes, but there’s a determination in his voice as he continues, rough and unfiltered. “Wanna taste this pretty pussy again,” he says, his fingers brushing over her skin, his touch deliberate but still trembling with need.
The noise that escapes her—a sharp, breathless gasp—sends heat surging through him, pushing him forward. His lips curve into a faint smile, more instinct than thought, before his face dips lower, his mouth finding her slick, swollen heat with unrelenting purpose.
He kisses her there first, soft and reverent, like he’s still testing the waters, still learning her. But the way her body jolts, the way her thighs tremble around his shoulders, drives him deeper. His tongue swipes along her folds, dragging up through her wetness, and he groans at the taste of her, low and guttural, the sound vibrating against her.
“Daryl,” she gasps, her hips shifting instinctively against his mouth.
The sound of her saying his name like that—breathless, needy—makes his cock twitch against the mattress, but he doesn’t pull back. His hands slide to her thighs, his fingers digging gently into her skin as he holds her in place.
“You’re so good, Daryl,” she breathes, her voice trembling as her fingers tighten in his hair, pulling him closer.
The praise makes his chest swell, pride mixing with desire as he focuses all his attention on her. His tongue moves with growing confidence, swirling over her sensitive nub before dipping lower, teasing her entrance with slow, deliberate strokes.
“Fuck,” she gasps, her head falling back against the pillow as her hips buck toward him.
He groans again, the vibration making her whimper, and he slides one hand down between them, his fingers testing her wetness before easing one inside. The tight heat of her around his finger is almost enough to make him lose control, but he holds steady, his focus entirely on her.
“Like this?” he asks, his voice rough and muffled against her, his finger curling gently inside her.
“Yes,” she moans, her body arching into him. “Just like that, baby. Don’t stop.”
Encouraged, he curls his finger inside her, his tongue flicking and suckling over the sensitive bundle of nerves at her center. Her moans grow louder, her body moving instinctively against him, and he adds another finger, the stretch of her around his fingers making drops of precum drip from him.
Her thighs tighten around his head, her breathing ragged as her body moves against him, desperate and needy. “Daryl,” she whimpers, her voice breaking. “I’m so close—fuck, don’t stop. Please.”
He doesn’t. He doubles down, his fingers curling inside her, finding that spot that makes her cry out, his tongue pressing harder against her. Her body tightens, her back arching as the tension inside her snaps, her release crashing over her in waves.
He holds her through it, his movements slowing as she comes down, her breathing ragged and uneven. When she finally relaxes beneath him, her thighs trembling, he presses kisses to her inner thigh before crawling back up her body, peppering her soft skin with his lips. As he reaches her hip bone and further up, he lets his teeth graze her, causing a pleasant yelp from her, but he licks each puncture smooth with his tongue.
Eventually, his mouth lands back on hers, and he’s surprised by her fervent need for him, her hands threading back into his hair as her legs bracket his hips. The soft press of her body against his is electric, her lips urgent and warm as they move against his. His cock is rock hard and achingly hot and heavy as it presses against her, the sensation making his hips twitch.
“Are you going to fuck me, Daryl?” she whispers, her mouth brushing against his jaw, her breath hot on his skin.
The growl that escapes him is nearly inhuman, guttural and raw, and he feels his nerves fray at the edges, torn between his desperate need for her and the doubt clawing at his chest. Could he do this? Could he be what she needed, take her like this?
Her lips curve into a smile as she pulls back to look at him, her hand sliding to cup his jaw. He presses his forehead against hers, his breath coming in short, uneven bursts, as he shifts, his hips aligning with hers. The weight of her trust—her eagerness—makes his throat tighten. He wants her to see it, how much he wants this, how much he wants her.
When he reaches down to pump himself in his hand, his breath catches in his throat, a shaky hiss escaping his lips. “Fuck,” he mutters, dragging his cock along her slick heat, feeling how ready she is for him. Both of them gasp when the head of him catches at her entrance, the heat of her making his chest tighten and his mind spin.
She cups his face with both hands, her smile widening as her thumbs stroke his cheeks. “You’re doing so good,” she murmurs, her voice steady and full of warmth.
Her words calm some of the chaos in his chest, and he nods, leaning in to kiss her, soft and slow. “You’re so wet,” he mumbles against her lips, the words rough and unfiltered. “So fuckin’ soft.”
As he pushes into her, his body seems to give out, falling forward until his chest is pressed to hers, his arms trembling with the effort of holding himself up. Her hands stroke the back of his head, her fingers tangling gently in his hair as she pets him.
“I feel you, Daryl,” she whispers, her voice breathy and full of praise, "You feel amazing. So big, so good. Tell me how you feel. You okay?"
He nods quickly, his breath uneven. “Y-yeah,” he mutters, pulling back slightly to hover over her again. His hips move tentatively, just enough to let him feel the drag of her walls around him, and his entire body shudders. “Jesus… you’re squeezin’ me so tight. Feels… God, you feel so good.”
She gasps at the movement, her lips parting as her hips rise to meet his. “Just like that, Daryl,” she whispers, her voice trembling. “Please, please, just like that.”
Her begging sends a jolt of heat straight to his core, She was begging, Daryl realized. Begging for more--for more of him. The thought makes his head fuzzy, but it also spurs him on.
With another shaky exhale, he pushes in further again, his movements slow and careful, like he’s afraid of hurting her. Her soft gasps spur him on, each one sending a jolt of heat straight to his core. When he finally seats himself fully inside her, his arms tremble with the effort of holding himself up, his breath coming in short, uneven bursts.
“You’re perfect,” she breathes, her hands sliding up to cradle his face. Her eyes lock with his, and the look she gives him—full of trust and affection—makes his heart stutter.
“I dunno what I’m doin’,” he admits, his voice low and hoarse, his cheeks flushing.
She smiles, her thumbs brushing along his jaw. “You’re doing everything just right,” she whispers, her voice steady. “Just, please, God, move, Daryl. Please. Whatever feels good to you.”
He nods slowly, his gaze never leaving hers as he starts to move. His thrusts are tentative at first, unsteady, but the soft sounds she makes—the quiet moans and sharp intakes of breath—give him the confidence to keep going.
His movements grow bolder, his hips rolling against hers in a rhythm that’s still slightly uneven but filled with intent. Each stroke sends sparks of pleasure coursing through him, and he can feel the way she tightens around him, her body reacting instinctively to his.
“You’re takin’ me so good,” he murmurs, his voice rough and unsteady as he leans down to press his lips to her neck. “So fuckin’ good.”
Her nails scrape lightly down his back, her moans growing louder as her hips rise to meet his. The way she moves beneath him, the way she says his name like it’s the only thing on her mind, sends him spiraling.
“Daryl,” she gasps, her voice high and breathless. “Please, fuck, don’t stop.”
Her words push him further, his thrusts deepening as he buries his face against her neck, groaning softly against her skin. The heat between them builds steadily, their bodies moving together in perfect sync.
And then, her hand slips between them, her fingers finding her clit and rubbing it in tight, deliberate circles. The sight makes his breath catch, his hips faltering as he pulls back to sit up, his movements slowing. His eyes drop to where their bodies are joined, mesmerized by the way her fingers work against herself, slick with both of them, her hips writhing to meet each stroke.
“Shit,” he mutters, his voice thick with awe as he watches her. His thrusts slow further, each one deliberate and deep, giving her room to move, his chest heaving as he tries to keep his focus.
She’s falling apart beneath him, her lips parting into a perfect “o” of pleasure as her eyes flutter closed, her head tipping back against the pillow. Her moans grow louder, more desperate, her fingers moving faster as her body tightens around him.
“Daryl,” she gasps, her voice trembling, her free hand clawing at his back. “I’m gonna—fuck, I’m gonna cum—please, don’t stop!”
Her begging is his undoing. He grits his teeth, thrusting harder and even faster than before, meeting the rhythm of her fingers with every stroke. Her thighs tremble around him, her hips jerking as she cries out, her release crashing over her.
The way her body grips him, fluttering and pulsing around his cock, makes him lose control. He groans loudly, his hips slamming into hers as he chases his own release.
“Fuck,” he growls, his voice raw as he thrusts harder, faster, the sensation of her tight, wet heat pushing him over the edge.
He spills into her with a broken groan, his body trembling as his climax crashes through him. He thrusts once, twice more, riding out the waves of pleasure before collapsing onto her, his breath ragged and uneven.
Her arms wrap around him, her fingers stroking his back as she presses soft kisses to his temple. The room is quiet now, save for the sound of their breathing, heavy and slow, as they come down together. Her hands stroke his back, her touch gentle and grounding as she murmurs quiet praises into his ear, her voice full of warmth.
“You’re incredible,” she whispers, her lips pressing soft kisses to his temple.
He exhales shakily, his eyes fluttering closed as he lets her words sink in. Each kiss feels like a promise, soft and ticklish, and he can't believe he had any remnants of uncertainty when he woke up this morning. His hands slide beneath her, tightening his arms around her and grounding himself in the warmth of her beneath him.
“Daryl?” she says softly, a teasing edge creeping into her voice.
“Yeah?” he asks, tilting his head to meet her gaze, his brows furrowing slightly.
“I’m real hungry,” she says, her lips curving into a sheepish grin, her fingers toying lightly with the hair at the nape of his neck.
For a moment, he just stares at her, caught off guard by the sudden shift. But then, a low, rough chuckle escapes him, and the tension in his shoulders melts away.
“That so?” he mutters, his lips twitching into a small, lopsided grin. “Guess I worked ya up an appetite, huh?”
She laughs, the sound warm and carefree, and tugs him down for another quick kiss. “Guess you did,” she teases, her eyes glimmering with mischief.
Daryl huffs a laugh, shaking his head as he rolls off her and reaches for the sheet to wrap around them both. “Alright,” he says, his voice softer now, full of affection. “Let’s see what we can scrounge up.”

𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃 𝐀 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘 - 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐔𝐑
Pairing: Noah Sebastian x reader
Summary: When Noah was left alone to take care of his daughter about two years ago, he never thought he would find someone else he would trust enough to include in his little family. But things can change.
Series masterlist
Noah had been texting you all morning, starting with the apologies the moment you woke up and while you were getting ready to go to work.
Noah♡: Fuck
Noah♡: I’m so sorry about last night
His messages came through fast after that, each one more panicked than the last, like he thought you might ignore him entirely or you could never forgive him.
Noah♡: I didn’t mean to fall asleep
Noah♡: I feel like such an ass
Noah♡: Actually, I am
Noah♡: Fuck
Noah♡: Please don’t be mad
He was clearly rattled. You thought he might feel a little guilty about missing dinner but his desperation to make things right surprised you.
Noah usually was the kind of person who could laugh things off and move on. But today, he seemed to be so terribly scared you might be mad at him.
You reassured him right away, telling him that it was fine, that you weren’t upset, but the texts kept coming.
Noah♡: I really wanted to see you
Noah♡: I feel like I screwed this up
Noah♡: I'm so sorry
The more he apologized, the more you started to realize there was something else underneath his words. It wasn’t just about last night, there was a fear there, something deeper. The more he texted, the more you started to piece it together: he wasn’t just scared of messing up the "date", he was scared of losing you.
And you knew that this behavior of his stemmed from the fact that a few years earlier, he had returned home to find it a bit too empty.
Maybe that’s why he was so afraid of screwing things up now: he didn’t want history to repeat itself.
Now, you stood behind the counter of the café, phone buzzing in your hand, trying to figure out how to get him to relax.
You: I’m really not mad
You typed for what felt like the tenth time. But it seemed that, no matter how much you reassured him, he didn’t seem to believe you. He was convinced that this one slip-up would be enough to drive you away. It made your heart ache a little, realizing just how much weight he was putting on this.
You: Everything's fine, I promise. I was just worried something bad happened.
You: I'm glad everything's fine. I'm not mad.
You: What about you come to my place for dinner tonight?
You: Just us and Luna this time.
No new texts appeared on the screen for a moment, then he answered.
Noah♡: Yeah, I'd like that.
Noah♡: We'd like that*
Noah♡: thank you
You: No need to thank me
You: I love you.
The answer this time, came really quickly.
Noah♡: I love you too.
That’s when the bell above the door chimed, and you looked up to see Jolly and Folio stroll in. You smiled, recognizing them immediately as they wandered over, glancing at the menu as if they hadn’t already memorized it.
Jolly caught your eye and grinned. “Hey, thought your favorite costumers would stop by for a caffeine fix,” he said, already pulling out his wallet.
"Hey." Folio waved at you with a small nod in agreement, scanning the pastry case like he hadn’t already tried everything in there.
"Sorry to disappoint you guys, my fave is Noah."
"He is not here now. You can stop lying." Folio laughed.
Soon, Folio and Jolly were sitting at the counter, the two of them quietly sipping your coffees.
Nick glanced at you over the rim of his cup, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “You know,” he began, his voice casual, “we’re really glad Noah found you.”
You blinked in surprise, but before you could respond, Jolly chimed in, nodding. “Yeah, man. It’s been great seeing him this way. He’s… different now. Definitely happier.”
You smiled softly, feeling warmth bloom in your chest at the thought. “Really?”
“Definitely,” Folio repeated, leaning back in his chair. “You know, after everything that happened with Luna’s mom, he just sort of… I dont know, he blamed himself. He thought it was his fault she left. You are just doing good to him. He's happy now. He's happy when he's with you.”
Jolly nodded. “He felt like he failed. As a father, as a partner. And now... he's just happy."
You listened, realizing more and more how Noah must have felt when he thought you were mad at him.
Jolly took a slow sip of his coffee before setting the cup down with a thoughtful nod. “It’s been really cool to see. I mean, we’ve known Noah for years, and he’s always been the type to just keep going, no matter what’s happening in his life. But since you came around, it’s like he’s more at ease. You can tell he’s genuinely happy. And I know you are taking things slow and you have known him for like... a year? And he's still getting used to the idea that someone actually loves him and is not gonna leave him again. But he is happier now.”
You couldn’t help but smile at that, the thought of Noah feeling that way making your heart lift. “I guess I didn’t realize how much things had changed for him.”
Folio shrugged, his grin widening. “He’s not exactly the type to make a big deal out of it. But we can see it. The way he talks about you, or when he’s just hanging out with you and Luna. The man is just in love."
You nodded, your fingers tracing imaginary drawings on the counter. “I’m glad. I really care about him, and Luna.”
Folio smiled, giving you a knowing look. “We can tell. And honestly, it’s been good for him to have someone who gets that being a good dad is really important to him. You fit into their little universe in a way that just… works.”
Jolly agreed, his tone easy and genuine. “Yeah, it’s like you’re part of the family now. Noah’s happy, Luna’s happy, and, well, we’re happy for him. For both of you.”
You couldn’t help but feel a little lighter at their words, the reassurance settling in. You hadn’t doubted how much Noah cared about you, but hearing from his closest friends made it feel more real, more solid.
“Thanks,” you said quietly, smiling at both of them. “That really means a lot.”
Folio waved it off with a grin. “Hey, no need to thank us. We’re just telling it like it is.”
The conversation shifted after that, naturally flowing into stories about the funny things Luna said recently and the band’s new ideas. The three of you laughed as you served a couple of costumers and they kept sipping their coffees, enjoying the calm of the morning.
After many hours, you finished tidying up the café as the last customer left. It was strange to think it had already been almost three years since the café first opened. Every inch held a memory, from the faint coffee stains on the counter to the tiny plant you’d been struggling to keep alive since day one.
Grace grabbed her bag from behind the counter, giving you a quick, almost begrudging nod. “Ready to go?”
“Yeah,” you replied, locking up as the two of you stepped outside. The crisp late afternoon air hit you, a refreshing change from the café’s warmth.
You both walked toward your cars in the dimly lit parking lot, and as you did, Grace suddenly spoke up. “Three years, huh? Hard to believe.”
You nodded, smiling a little. “I know. Feels like we should celebrate or something, right? Three years is a pretty big deal.”
She glanced over at you, raising an eyebrow. “You really think people will care?”
“Sure, why not?” You shrugged, already imagining a little celebration. “We could do something small but nice. You know, like a free cookie with every order, or free candies, maybe put up some cute decorations to make it festive.”
Grace tilted her head, her mouth curving into a smirk. “I’ll admit, I’ve seen worse ideas. Might actually bring in some new people.”
You laughed softly, not entirely surprised by her pragmatic approach. “Well, I thought it could be nice to show some appreciation for the regulars too. They’re part of why this place has done so well.”
She crossed her arms, considering it. “Alright, free cookies and some decorations. But nothing too cheesy, okay? No bright streamers or those glitter confetti things that get everywhere.”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “Deal. I was thinking about simple things, maybe a few extra plants or flowers around.”
Grace nodded approvingly. “Sounds reasonable. Let’s go over ideas tomorrow, though, after the morning rush.”
You agreed, feeling happy at the idea of adding a little extra warmth to the café. This place had become a second home, and celebrating that felt right.
As you each unlocked your cars, Grace gave you a rare smile, albeit a small one. “Guess I’ll see you tomorrow, then.”
“Yeah,” you replied, returning her smile. “See you, Grace.”
With one last wave, you climbed into your car, thinking that before deciding what to do for the café anniversary you wanted to get ready for a perfect dinner with Noah and Luna.
That evening, in the kitchen, you prepped a simple but warm meal, setting the table with a couple of candles to make things feel a bit cozier - and because you always loved candles. You wanted everything to feel comfortable, something that would make Noah happy and put Luna at ease, being her first time at your house.
When you heard the soft knock at the door, you could already imagine Noah on the other side, probably looking a little nervous, one of his hands stuffed in his pockets, the other holding Luna's one, trying not to show just how much he had worried himself into knots all day as you knew he did.
Taking a quick breath, you opened the door to find Noah standing there with Luna next to him. She was clutching her little stuffed bunny, her eyes lighting up the second she saw you.
"Hi!" She waved at you, and you smiled.
“There they are,” you said softly, smiling as you stepped forward.
Noah’s eyes met yours, and he looked almost hesitant, as though he were still unsure if you were really okay with everything that had happened. Before he could say a word, you stepped closer, standing on your tiptoes and wrapping your arms around his neck in a warm, reassuring hug. He held on to you, his relief almost palpable as he relaxed against you. Leaning up, you pressed a gentle kiss to his lips.
"Hey." He smiled.
“Hey. I know its been only two days but I missed you,” you whispered, pulling back just enough to look at him.
He looked down at you, a small, relieved smile finally spreading across his face. “I missed you too. I’m sorry again, I really—”
You placed a finger over his lips. “Don't be stupid and stop apologizing. Come in.”
You stepped aside, holding the door open as they walked in, Luna looked around with curiosity, and she waved her plushie around as if introducing him to the house too.
After setting her down, Noah glanced around, still looking a little uncertain, but with each second, he seemed to relax more and more. The smell of dinner filled the room, and he raised his brows, sniffing the air with an appreciative grin. “Something smells amazing.”
“I tried my best,” you said, leading them both to the dining table where you’d set everything up with warm dishes and cozy candlelight.
Luna, always observant, tilted her head and pointed a tiny finger at the flickering candles. “Look, daddy, magic lights!”
Noah chuckled, a soft laugh you hadn’t heard in only a couple of days and you realized iu missed more than anything. He leaned down to her level, nodding. “Yeah, they are. Careful though, okay? We don’t want to get too close.”
She nodded, her eyes still on the candle.
The three of you settled at the table, and Noah helped Luna into her little chair beside him. As you began to serve the food, Noah glanced at you, his gaze filled with appreciation and something softer, deeper.
For a while, you just ate, comfortable silence settling between bites, the clinking of cutlery and Luna’s occasional little gasps of excitement over the meal filling the room.
At some point, Luna’s face lit up with excitement as she remembered something important. She turned to you, her eyes wide and sparkling.
“Guess what?” she said, bouncing a little in her chair.
“What?” you replied, grinning at her enthusiasm.
“We’re going to the zoo tomorrow! With everyone from class! Daddy says there’s gonna be giraffes and elephants and…” She paused for dramatic effect, leaning closer, her voice lowering to a whisper. “And unicorns.”
You couldn’t help but laugh softly, glancing at Noah, who was stifling a smile himself. “Unicorns, huh?”
Luna nodded, her expression serious. “Yes! I’m gonna find them. They’re hiding, but I’ll see them for sure.”
“Well, then, I guess you’ll have to tell us all about it tomorrow,” you said, giving her an encouraging nod.
She nodded eagerly, taking a determined bite of her food, clearly already planning her adventure. Noah reached over, a warm smile on his face as he ruffled her hair gently.
As you all continued to eat, Noah glanced at you, his hand resting on yours. “I was thinking,” he began, giving you a soft smile. “Since I’ll be dropping Luna off early for her big zoo day, maybe I could pick you up and drive you to work? Stay a bit and grab something? If your coworker is not gonna kick me out.”
Your smile widened, warmth filling you as you met his eyes. “That sounds perfect. Thank you. And I'll protect you from Grace, don't worry.”
Noah laughed.
“Daddy always puts his music in the car!” Luna added, rolling her eyes a little.
You stifled a laugh, glancing at Noah with a playful smile. “Oh, I see, someone’s got a bit of an ego, huh?”
Noah chuckled, giving you a mock-offended look. “Hey! I'm just trying to raise her with the right music taste, thank you very much.”
You all laughed together, the table filled with easy warmth and conversation as Luna continued sharing all the animals she’d meet.
Noah caught your eye, his smile still lingering as he shook his head, clearly taken by his daughter’s antics. It was a simple moment, but it made everything feel… right. Like this was exactly where you both were supposed to be.
After dinner, Luna clambered down from her chair and, wandered into the living room, where she promptly set herself up in front of the TV. She leaned back, her little legs crossed as you offered her the remote, and she started pressing buttons until her favorite cartoon appeared. Soon, her laughter and excited chatter filled the room as she became absorbed in her show, completely at home.
You started gathering the dishes, but Noah stood up, gently placing a hand over yours. “Hey, let me help.”
You gave him a soft smile, nodding as the two of you worked together. Once the dishes were done, you both found yourselves in the kitchen, leaning against the counter, a quiet calm settling between you.
He looked down, rubbing the back of his neck with that same, slightly awkward expression he always wore when he was working up to saying something important. “I don’t think I can say it enough, but… thank you. For tonight. And… for not being mad.”
You shook your head, reaching up to brush a few stray locks away from his eyes. “Noah, stop it. For real. You don’t have to thank me. I understand. You are a dad, a singer, a songwriter and a boyfriend. And sometimes you are just tired. I understand. That doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere. You are great at all these things.”
His shoulders relaxed as he let out a soft breath, finally letting the guilt slip away. “I just… I keep thinking that I’ll screw things up somehow. And I know I shouldn’t. But I do.”
“I know,” you replied softly, your fingers tracing light circles on his arm. “But I’m not going to leave over one missed date, okay? You’re stuck with me. And it was not even a date. Nick would have probably kept talking about the first time he went to the coffe shop and I poured a whole cup on him by accident.”
He chuckled, his gaze softening. “Good. Because I don’t want to mess this up. You mean… you mean a lot to me.”
You stepped closer, slipping your arms around his waist as you looked up at him, your face inches from his. “I’m here, Noah. For you and for Luna. I’m not going anywhere.”
He wrapped his arms around you, holding you close. You could feel his heart beating steadily under your cheek, his warmth seeping into you.
As the two of you stood there, wrapped up in each other, Luna’s cheerful laugh drifted in from the living room, and Noah glanced in her direction, his eyes softening with the quiet pride he felt whenever he looked at her.
He smiled down at you, his voice low and filled with a quiet sincerity. “You know… I like this. The three of us. Like now.”
You squeezed his hand, giving him a gentle smile. “Good. Because I like it too.”
The rest of the night passed in a haze of warmth and laughter. You joined Luna on the couch, letting her explain every plot twist of her cartoon to you with animated hand gestures and gleeful expressions. Noah sat beside you, his hand resting comfortably on your thigh, his thumb gently brushing against it.
Eventually, Luna’s eyelids started to droop, and Noah carefully scooped her up, cradling her against his chest as she mumbled sleepy goodbyes to you. He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead, murmuring soothing words as she settled into his shoulder with a content sigh.
Before he left, he turned to you, his face illuminated by the dim hallway light. “Even if you said I didn't have to thank you...thank you.” he whispered.
You nodded, pressing one last soft kiss to his lips before he stepped out into the night, Luna sound asleep in his arms.
As you closed the door behind them, you felt a sense of warmth settle deep within you, a sense of home that lingered long after they had gone.
The next morning, you waited by the door until you caught sight of Noah’s car pulling up in front of your place. The second you got in, he leaned over to give you a quick, gentle kiss, his eyes soft and warm, the early sunlight making the messy hair poking out from under the hood of his hoodie look even softer than usual.
"Good morning," he murmured with a smile.
"Morning," you replied, leaning in for one more kiss before he started the drive. You felt completely at ease, like the night before had cemented something new and wonderful between you.
“I wonder if Luna found the unicorns yet” you teased, breaking the comfortable silence in the car.
He let out a soft chuckle, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “Oh, definitely. She was up all night practicing her ‘unicorn call’ just in case she needed it today. I think half the house is covered in glitter now.”
“She's dedicated, I’ll give her that,” you laughed.
As Noah pulled into a parking spot near the café, you noticed some activity across the street, where the old bookstore had been vacant for years. A couple of large moving trucks were parked out front, and people were carrying in boxes, furniture, and various pieces of equipment, and you couldn’t help but stare, wondering what might be going in there.
“Look at that,” Noah said, nodding toward the trucks as he put the car in park. “Guess someone finally decided to put that old place to use.”
“Yeah… wonder what it’ll be,” you mused, squinting to try and catch a glimpse of something that would give you a clue.
“Another cafè. To give you competition.” he joked, raising an eyebrow with a grin.
You rolled your eyes. “It’s a pretty big space, maybe it’s a gym or something.”
“Oh, please. This area’s too small for another gym. Maybe… a little art studio? Some kind of gallery, even?”
“Ooh, a gallery would be nice. You could go all broody, stare at abstract paintings, and pretend you totally understand what they mean,” you teased, nudging him.
He laughed, shaking his head. “Or, I could bring you along and make you explain the art to me. I’ll just stand there, nodding like I know what I’m talking about.”
“I’d pay to see that,” you replied, chuckling. “Though, I wouldn’t mind a new bookstore. I always liked the smell of all those old books in there.”
“Now that,” he nodded, “would be amazing. We could take Luna, let her pick out her own books.”
You could both easily imagine it: a cozy bookstore, shelves filled to the ceiling with everything from children’s books to novels. For a moment, you both stood there, imagining it.
Then, he glanced at you, a soft smile lingering on his face. “Whatever it is, I guess we’ll find out soon enough.”
With that, the two of you headed into the café. As you stepped inside, you flicked on the lights, taking in the familiar warmth of the place.
You moved behind the counter as you started getting things ready for the morning crowd. “So… I was thinking about an idea for the café’s anniversary. It’s been three years already, and Grace kind of agreed to a little celebration.”
Noah leaned on the counter. “Yeah? What did you have in mind?”
“Well, something simple. I was thinking free cookies or little treats, some decorations, maybe some plants or flowers around the place to give it a warm touch.”
He nodded, his gaze thoughtful. “Sounds perfect, honestly. And if you need help with anything, I’ve got some stuff I could bring to add to the decorations. Old fairy lights, purple and pink, they were in my bedroom once, and some stuff we don’t use anymore.”
You perked up at that. “Really? That would be amazing. I think it’d add a lot. This place could use a little extra magic for the event.”
He smiled, reaching out to squeeze your hand. “Consider it done. I can bring them tomorrow, and we can figure out where to put everything.”
“Thank you,” you said softly.
He shrugged, his thumb brushing lightly over your knuckles. “Anything for you. For this place too. It’s part of us, you know? It's where we met. If this place hadn't existed maybe we would never have met.”
You looked down, smiling softly as he held your hand, thinking about his words. “I don’t know about that,” you said, glancing back up at him. “Have you ever heard of the red string theory?”
He raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Yeah. I haven't heard of it since I was a kid though.”
You nodded, leaning on the counter a little closer to him. “It's about people who are meant to meet—soulmates, if you want to call them that—that are connected by an invisible red string. No matter where they are in the world, that string brings them together eventually. No matter what happens.”
Noah’s expression softened as he listened, his thumb absently tracing gentle circles on your hand. “So… you’re saying that even if this café wasn’t here, or if we’d missed each other somehow, we’d still end up meeting? Just… somewhere else?”
You nodded. “Exactly. Maybe it would’ve been a random bookshop, or in line at the grocery store, or at one of Luna’s school events. But, one way or another, we would’ve crossed paths.”
He smiled, a warm, almost awed look in his eyes. “Mh. I like that."
“I like that too,” you said softly. “And I think it’s true, you know? Like, we may not see it, but I believe there are little connections and coincidences all around us, nudging us in certain directions, bringing us closer to the people we’re supposed to know.”
Noah glanced around the café, as if seeing it with fresh eyes. “So, if it wasn’t this place, it would have been somewhere else… but, somehow, we’d find each other. I like that,” he repeated, his voice a gentle murmur, "I like thinking I would have found you anyway. And you would have found me."
Your smiled at that, nodding.
Then, you started getting ready for the day, giving Noah his usual tea and changing the little sign on the door from "closed" to "open".
A few people came in as the morning rolled on, and every now and then, someone would recognize Noah, offering a friendly wave or a shy smile. He didn’t mind, casually greeting a couple of fans and even pausing to take a quick photo with one, all while chatting with you as you worked.
The thing you were sure of was that the days at work you spent with Noah sitting at the counter next to you were always the best.

After the announcement of the stars of the match, I slowly walked to the family waiting room to tell Dawson the news. I’m scared to tell him. I know he would be thrilled, but that feeling of uncertainty still resides in the pit of my stomach, along with our miracle.
I walk down the hall with other wives and girlfriends, with my hand before my stomach. Besides me and Clara, John Marino’s girlfriend, no one knows it. They are like family to us, and I’m so grateful for them.
“Breathe, babes, everything is gonna be fine,” she assured me while stroking my back.
“Yeah, I hope,” I let out a nervous sigh, fiddling with my fingers.
“Hey look at me! Dawson is a great man, he would never do anything stupid about the baby, okay? And if you have me and John we will always have your back, just like all boys from the team,” she smiles at me, giving my shoulders a little squeeze.
“Thank you!” I smile at her before we continue on our way to the family room.
When we walked in, Clara immediately pulled me to the couch and pushed me so we could sit down instead of staying the whole time while waiting on our boys.
I pull my phone, open it, and click on an Instagram icon to find out what’s new in the world of celebrities and my friends.
“Oh, y/n how are you?” Ellen asks you with a big smile on her lips as she makes her way toward you. Ellen is the mom of the Hughes brothers. She’s the sweetest woman you have met. She’s like mom to all the boys I dare to say.
“Ellen! Hi! I’m fine, how are ya?” I ask her with a smile as she pulls me in her embrace, hugging me tightly.
“Oh, you know, as a mom of three sons can be!” she laughs pulling from our hug. “I’m fine. Jim is being a pain in my ass as always but otherwise, I’m fine,” she tells me with a smile which makes me and Clara laugh. “Oh, hello dear!” she exclaims pulling Clara in a hug.
Sitting back down on the couch, I rest my head on the headrest closing my eyes. I blow out a deep breath thinking about our baby and what would be Dawson’s reaction.
I know I don’t have to be scared about his reaction because we both want kids, but I’m not sure if it’s too soon for us. Yes, we’ve been married for two years now but you both are just twenty-two and he is enjoying his NHL years.
As I sat here preoccupied with my thoughts I didn’t notice that the guys were already walking into the room. I stand up when I see my man walk into the room.
His eyes traveled around the room to find me. As soon as his eyes land on me a smile grows on his face and he immediately makes his way towards me.
Putting his back down beside me, he pulls me in a tight hug, kissing my forehead. “Hi, beautiful.”
“Hi, handsome. You played amazing today. I’m proud of you.” I whisper in his chest with a smile on my lips.
He slightly pulls away looking you in the eyes before he leans down and presses his lips against mine in a delicious kiss. His right hand takes its place on my cheek deepening the kiss as his tongue makes its way to meet mine.
A slight moan leaves my lips when his tongue starts exploring your mouth. With a grin, Dawson pulls away chuckling at your whine.
“Needy girl,” he smirks resting his hands on my ass, pulling me more into him. My cheeks turn red at his statement burying my head into his chest.
Your moment is interrupted by Jack and Luke, who pull Dawson away from you so they can hug you too, and have you for a minute.
“I’m glad you’re here.” Luke is the first to pull me in a hug kissing the side of my head. I and Luke have known each other since uni. We met because of my mistake when I accidentally poured my drink all over him. But I’m glad that I was so clumsy, because thanks to that I lately met my amazing hot ass husband.
“Yeah me too,” I whisper as I pull away from him only to be pulled in another bear hug, only this time from the middle Hughes brother.
“Hey, I’m glad you made it, Bubba!” he whispered in my ear, his stubble tickling my neck which made me squirm in his hug with a laugh.
“Yeah me too! You played amazing guys!” I laughed pulling away from his tight embrace.
“Sure and that’s why we lost,” Dawson says, the sarcasm clear in his voice as much as in his face.
“Hey, I mean it, okay! It doesn’t mean that you played terribly when you lost. You played amazing, it just wasn’t meant to be.” you shrug your shoulders smiling at them.
“God, if we weren’t already married I would marry right now.” John’s voice comes from behind me as he and Clara stop by us.
I let out a laugh, shaking my head at his statement. “In that case, you wouldn’t have your amazing wife! What would you do without her.”
“That’s true!” he smiles kissing Clara’s cheek.
“Ey, back off man, this is my woman,” Dawson growled playfully, hugging me from behind and resting his hands on my belly.
Clara’s eyes land on his hands, and then she quickly looks into my eyes tilting her head to the side. I just shake my head. I want to tell him when we’re alone.
I let out a deep breath and leaned onto Dawson. “Tired?” he whispered in my ear earning a chuckle from me.
“Shouldn’t I be the one to ask this question?” I ask him tilting my head to the side to see his smile.
“Probably.” he grins leaning into the kiss I happily give him.
“Okay, guys I think we saw enough! Especially Moosey here, he’s too young to see this.” Jack groans playfully.
“I’m not a kid, Jack!” Luke defends himself shoving Jack in the shoulder.
“Yeah leave my baby alone!” I say with a laugh, earning a mean gesture from Luke.
“Okay, Okay, we should get going. I think we all are tired and the only thing we want is a hot shower and bed.” Dawson tightens his hug around me, pulling me closer to him, which is in our situation impossible.
“Yeah, Merc is right!” John nods picking his bag from the ground. “Let’s go home!”
— — — — — — —
“Oh, finally home!” Dawson groans as soon as I unlock the doors and step inside our apartment.
“Yeah,” I nod slipping out of my coat.
“I’m gonna hit a shower and then we can have dinner, huh?” he states resting his hands on my hips as I grab his forearms.
“Sounds good.” I hummed in response. Dawson smiles kissing the tip of my nose before he pulls away, and makes his way to our bathroom.
I make my way into the kitchen and open the fridge to find something that I can do for our dinner, while is Dawson in the shower.
I found some chicken breasts, so maybe I can make them in a pan with some vegetables and quinoa.
I start with dicing the chicken, so I can marinate them in my honey marinade. When I'm done I put the pan on the stove, pour on it some oil, and let it heat up.
Meanwhile, I cut the vegetables I will put in the pan with the meat, which is broccoli, carrot, and zucchini.
When I'm done I put the meat on the heated pan letting it fry.
I take the quinoa out of the cabinet and rinse it twice so we don't eat any dirt. I put it in the pot with two mugs of water and let it boil.
I stir the meat lightly so it doesn't stick to the pan. I pour myself a glass of water leaning my back on the counter and thinking about the way how I tell Dawson about our baby. I'm scared he will leave me. I mean, we're both so young for a baby, even for our marriage, but I'm just scared he doesn't want the baby right now.
He has his best hockey years ahead of him, and I'm just scared he'll blame me, that I ruin them.
"Oh, this smells delicious," Dawson's voice surprised me just like his hand around my waist. "What is it?" he rests his chin on the crock of my neck.
“Chicken with quinoa and vegetables. I know you probably don’t have the mood for my healthy recipes, but…” I trail off, tilting my head to the side to look him in the eyes.
“No, no, I love your meals, love,” he assured me kissing the tip of my nose and placing his hands on my belly.
“Okay,” I smile. “Can you serve the table, please?” nervousness starts to take over my calm voice.
“Sure love.” Dawson pulls away from me, getting two plates for us and the table ready.
When the food is ready I take the pan to the table as Dawson takes the pot and places it next to the pan.
“You can eat now, I'll just cut the vegetables.” I smile at him when I notice him leaning against the table.
“That’s okay, I wait for you,” he mumbled as he mixed the meat and vegetables.
With the vegetables on the plate, I sit down on a chair opposite Dawson, waiting for him to serve himself the food. He reached his hand out, signaling me to hand him my plate.
“Babe, you’re quiet today, is everything okay?” Dawson asks with a full mouth of food, a concern in his eyes.
I slowly pull the meat off the fork, which I slowly chew and swallow. I put the cutlery on the plate and fold my hands in my lap.
“I…uhm…I have something to tell you. I will understand if you want to end it or something…” I trail off.
“Hey, I will never leave you, okay!” Dawson states firmly, grabbing my hand in his.
“I…ugh…I am pregnant,” I mumble out. “I-I know we’re young and even the marriage was so soon, so I will understand if you won’t have something to do with us.” I ramble out nervously.
“You. Are. What?” he shouts out, dropping his cutlery on the table.
“I’m pregnant,” I whisper and I feel how my eyes start to tear. I set my eyes down on my hands in my lap, tears streaming down my cheeks as Dawson doesn’t say anything.
As I hear the sound of the chair being pushed back, a sob escapes my mouth and I look up at him. He’s standing here, one hand over his mouth, the other on his hip, tears glistening in his eyes as he looks behind me. As soon as his eyes find mine, he walks to me and squats in front of me.
“We are going to have a baby, y/n,” he whispers with a smile on his face. “You and me, baby. Oh god, I fucking love you.” he laughs pulling me down into a deep passionate kiss.
Our lips moved in sync. His tongue runs above my lower lip, making its way into my mouth, lightly caressing mine.
The tears make our kiss salty, but breathtaking as it always is.
“You’re not mad?” I whisper in his lips, our foreheads leaning against each other.
“Why would I be mad?” he furrows his brows in confusion.
“I…we never…ugh…we never talk about kids and, and were only twenty. Your hockey career is at the beginning so I thought you, don’t want kids, so you don’t want u-” Dawson stops me, shaking his head.
“Don’t even finish it,” he swallows shaking his head. “I would never leave you. I would never do that to you, or her. I want a family with you, either way, I would never marry you.” he places his hand on my belly, caressing it.
“Her?” I chuckle at him.
“Yeah, my princess.” he nods, nudging his nose to mine. His hands slowly make his way to my waist, pulling me towards him. His semi-hard cock pressed against my hip.
“What if it’s boy?” I grin at him, swinging my hands around his neck, bringing him closer if it’s even possible.
“Then he’ll be our second nhl star in the family.” grinning, his lips graze mine as his hands make their way to my ass. His hand taps on my tight signaling me to jump up.
I wrap my legs around his waist, and he places his on my tights. His lips captured mine in a heated kiss. I return his kisses as passionately as he does.
I have no idea where it comes from. Not even two minutes ago I was sitting on the chair crying and now I’m in his arms, while he walks into our bedroom with a semi-hard cock.
He places me gently on our bed, still kissing me. His, now hard cock is pressing against my cunt, which makes me let our moan of pleasure
Dawson takes that as his chance to escape my lips and attack my neck with kisses and soft nibbling.
His hand slips under my shirt and slowly makes its way to my breast. He massages my breast, and his lips slowly move to the hem of my t-shirt.
“Dawson,” I moan when his thumb runs over my hard nipple, my pussy throbbing.
“This needs to be off.” he tugged at the shirt, signaling me to get up. As soon as he pull off my shirt, his mouth attacked my nipple, sucking on it, his fingers taking care of the other one.
“Daws,” I winced. “Don’t tease.” I jerk my his up only to meet with his hard cock which makes me wetter even more.
“Not teasing, I just can’t get enough of you,” he mumbled, letting go of my nipple and his lips collapsed with mine in a delicate kiss.
I let out a whimper when his finger slid in between my folds. I didn’t even notice when he slipped his hand in here. “Fuck!” he cursed. “You’re so wet,” he hums. “And this all only for me, right?” he nudges his nose in mine earning a nod from me as his finger starts circling on my clit. “Words baby.”
“Yeah, only for you, Mr. Mercer,” I whine jerking my hips to make him quicken his moves.
“Say it again,” he growls in my ear, his fingers quickening their pace on my clit, the well-known pleasure forming in my lower belly.
“Mr. Mercer.” a cry of pleasure leaves my lips, she he pushes one of his fingers inside me, moving slowly with him as his thumb still circling on my clit.
“Fuck,” he growls in my neck, slipping his hand out of my panties he brings it to his mouth sucking on them, before he puts them on my parted lips. I take them in my mouth sucking hard on them, my tongue licking them. “Oh, baby,” he pulls his fingers out, getting off of me. With a slight smirk on his lips, he slowly pulls off his shirt, revealing his toned chest and abs which makes me clench my tights together.
“Take them off.” Dawson points towards the shorts I have still on me.
As soon as he says it my shorts are flying somewhere just like my panties. I lay down, my legs bend in my knees, so my pussy is on display for him.
“Oh god, baby. So gorgeous. Naked only for me, your wet cunt glistening.” he hums, slowly crawling towards me, his legs between mine, hands on the sides of my head and his cock laying on my stomach. He presses his lips to mine, sucking harshly, causing me to moan his name.
“Daws, please.” I moan, my legs clenching around his body.
“Daws please, what?” he mocks me, pressing his body more into me, his chest pressed to my chest.
“Fuck me with your tongue.” I breathe out, avoiding his eyes.
“As you wish, ma’am,” he smirks. He presses his lips to my jaw trailing kisses down my neck. He sucks on my spot on my neck, causing me to squirm underneath him.
“Daws, please.” I tug on his hair as I push his head down towards my throbbing pussy.
He smirks and in a moment his lips are clasped around my clit. I let out a cry of pleasure as I tugged on his hair. His tongue swipes around my clit, sucking on it harshly.
His tongue leaves my clit, his hands grab my thighs above my ass, he swings them over his shoulders and his thumbs hold my folds open. His tongue lick his way up from my entrance to clit.
Moaning I tug at his hair making him groan. The vibrations of his voice on my clit makes me clench my tights around his head.
“Taste so good, baby,” he whispers in my tight, placing soft kisses here. “So sweet. So mine.” and with that he dips his head in my pussy, making me come.
He drives me through my orgasm, licking all of my juice. He let go of me, stripping from his pants and briefs, his hard cock slapping over his lower belly. I clench my tights at the sight of his cock. The tip is red glistening from the precum. I swallow hardly looking into his eyes, smirk lays on his lips as his hand grabs his cock tugging at it in slow strikes.
He places himself between my legs, I wrap my legs around his waist smirking up at him. He smirks, sliding his tip between my folds making me shiver from the pleasure.
He pushes his tip slowly inside me, waiting for me to get used to it. Even after these years we're together it's impossible to get used to his size, he's really big and thick. I nod, and he takes the signal, slowly sinking all his length inside me.
Moans leave our mouths at the feeling of pleasure. He bends down, pressing his lips on mine, his hands on the sides of my head, as he slowly jerks his hips, to meet mine. His thrusts are slow and deep, just how he loves it.
His lips now kissing my neck, which makes me moan all I please.
"I love you," he groans, his thrusts faster and deeper, making me clench around him. "Both of you."
"I love you too!" I cry out loud, clenching around him as he perfectly hits my g-spot, my legs shaking around his waist.
His hands sneak under my head bringing me closer to him, our orgasms hitting us at the same time.
He collapsed on top of me, our breaths were heavy. The air around us smells like sex, sweat, and love.
He turns us around, me laying on top of him, his hand resting on my ass and the other on my belly, caressing it slightly.
"My family." he kisses my forehead, inhaling my scent.
"Our family." I kiss his chest smiling up at him.

thank you for requesting this beautiful man mwah
Broken Stitches
adrian breaks a stitch or two, and you feel the need to help him (or rather, he makes you help him)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A loud bang startles me from my spot on the couch. I sigh and stand up, dragging my tired body to the door. A shocked gasp leaves my lips as I nearly jump out of my skin.
“Hi, baby! Can you let me in? I need some help.”
I unlock the deadbolt on the door and he comes rushing in. The sight before me is terrifying. Adrian’s standing in front of me in a hospital gown with a hospital bracelet to match. His hair is all messed up, probably from laying down on those terrible pillows. He’s covered in cuts, scrapes, and bruises. I look down at his stomach and see blood starting to drench the gown. Despite all of this, he’s smiling.
“Hi, darling, thank you, so, long story short I was in the hospital, but before you can say anything, I’m ok, it’s just a little scratch.”
He keeps rambling while my mouth hangs open, in shock of the situation. I walk over to him and place my hand on his shoulder. “Baby, as much as I love to hear you talk, you’re bleeding. All over yourself. And my floor.”
He looks down at his gown and chuckles awkwardly. “Ha, yeah, I guess I am.” He looks up sheepishly and bites his lip, thinking for a second. “You still have that sewing kit right?”
I tilt my head curiously, afraid of what his next words will be. “Um, yes?” He almost jumps with happiness but stops himself from the wound on his stomach.
“You can stitch me up! I don’t want to go back to the hospital because you know, it’s a pain in the ass, and they’ll want to admit me again.” My mouth drops open again, his suggestion dumbfounding me.
“You want me to what?! You do know, that is not at all sanitary. You might as well head back to the hospital so they do it right, anything I do here will probably give you an infection.” He shrugs and leads himself into my bathroom where he sits on the toilet, his left hand applying pressure on the wound.
“Whatever, I’ll be fine. Besides, if it does get infected, I’ll just go to the hospital then.”
I sigh and reach under my sink to grab the kit. I pull out a needle and some thread, taking my time to make sure I heat sterilize the needle. I thread it and hold it up, a frown on my face.
“I really don’t want to hurt you, Adrian.” He grabs my hand and squeezes it gently, smiling up at me.
“It’s ok, baby, I’ll be ok.” He grabs a washcloth from behind him and bites down. I lean down and lift up the gown, exposing his wound. I wince in pain for him. I take my needle and thread and begin to painstakingly sew up where his stitches had broken.
A good 30 minutes later, I knot off the end of the last stitch. Adrian’s forehead is wet with sweat and his teeth are sore from biting down (not that it did much, I’m shocked the neighbors didn’t call the cops). I get a new washcloth and gently clean off the blood from his stomach. He looks down and smiles, “Wow, baby, that looks really good! You should be my permanent doctor or something!”
I sigh, “Adrian Chase, you do something like this again, I’m dragging you back to the hospital.”

(pt. 1) || (pt. 3)
HUGE TW, PROCEED WITH CAUTION: miscarriage, pregnancy, blood, and the pain that goes along with it.
“lixieee im home!”
you came home with such a big smile on your face. you were a little grumpy about work, your mood swings not making things any better, and you felt a little sick. nonetheless, you were still excited to come home to your boyfriend.
“hey pretty! i’m making some brownies, just give me a bit yeah? they’ll be done in 20”
you walk over to him, giving him a quick peck on the cheek and thanking him before leaving to your room to go shower.
throwing off your clothes, you enter the shower rather quickly, hoping that it will refresh you enough. you run the vanilla shampoo through your hair, the feeling of the bubbles running down your back relaxing you.
all of a sudden, the scent of vanilla hits your nose, an uneasy feeling washing over you. you finish your shower as fast as you can, putting on your clothes and then rushing out the bathroom. maybe you were just hungry?
“hey lix”, you said with a weak smile, sitting down at the table where he was waiting with leftovers from yesterday and his brownies.
“hey angel, you hungry now?”
“mhm…”
he dumps the food out onto your plates, but you grab a brownie before even looking at the food. felix’s brownies could never get old. you take a bite, the warm fudge practically melting in your mouth.
you enjoyed the brownie, and felix began to pick one up, when suddenly your eyes went wide. the same terrible feeling was back, except stronger now. you tried to fight it by swallowing the part of the brownie that was already in your mouth.
the feeling didn’t leave, and you found yourself scrambling to your feet to stand up. “baby… what’s wrong?”
you couldn’t answer, afraid that the bits of your brownie would end up on him, and instead ran to the kitchen sink. felix made sure to follow behind just as fast. the second you got to the sink, you were letting go.
felix watched as you vomited out the brownie and the rest of the food you had today, quickly grabbing your hair so it wouldn’t get in the way. his other hand ran soothing circles around your back, hoping to calm you down.
you threw up with such force that bile shot out your nose, felix now becoming even more concerned. once you’ve calmed down and washed your face, felix finally speaks up. “let’s get you to bed baby.”, he sighs lightly.
he quickly picks you up bridal style, setting you down on your bed carefully. you let out a little whine when felix left, but quickly returned with an emergency bucket. “just in case”, he said with a sweet smile.
he brought the hair dryer from the bathroom, not wanting you to get sick from the cold, and quickly blow dried your hair. he didnt work on styling it, wanting you to get rest as soon as possible.
he quickly runs to grab you a jug of warm water to place on your tummy. you loved that he was so attentive to you, especially on days he was back at home. “i love you lix. i’m sorry for what happened”
“it’s not like you could control it dummy, go to sleep now. i love you”
that morning, felix woke up to an empty bed. the bucket next to you was filled to the brim with bile, felix instantly darting to the bathroom. his heart broke seeing you on the floor, vomiting into the toilet as you shook violently.
he quickly held your hair back again, rubbing the soft part of your tummy to soothe it. “baby what’s going on? did you eat something?”
you shook your head, not trusting your own words in case vomit came out instead. you’re tired, completely worn out. it feels like all the energy in your body has just left you.
suddenly, a wave of realization comes over you, and you begin to panic. you’re constantly vomiting. you have terrible mood swings. you didn’t get your period. everything lines up perfectly.
your breaths become labored, soon becoming large gasps for breath. “felix- i…”
he begins to become extremely worried. “what baby? what’s wrong?”
“i…”; you can’t go on. you’re exhausted. it’s the last thing you remember saying before you black out, almost falling into the toilet if felix weren’t holding you back right now.
“shit- y/n? stay with me okay? i’m calling an ambulance.”
felix struggled to stay calm, tears running down his face as he tried to stop his voice from quivering. “my girlfriend, she needs help. she’s been vomiting like crazy and- she’s passed out right now”, he said it so fast the dispatcher almost couldn’t understand him.
the ambulance was at your house within minutes, felix holding you in his arms again while he waited. he could still feel your breath fanning over his neck, a sense of comfort washing over him. quickly, you guys took off to the hospital.
“felix?”
“oh god baby! you’re awake? are you feeling okay?”
your head hurt a little, and you were incredibly confused, but you decided to tell him anyways. it was probably important. “my head hurts a little bit, but that’s okay”
he holds your hand, clutching tightly, afraid there’s actually something wrong.
the doctor opens the door, sitting on one of the chairs next to where all the machines are hooked up. “okay so, we’ve figured out why you’ve been vomiting so much.”, she pauses.
felix is practically squirming in his seat, afraid for the words about to come out of her mouth. “congratulations, you’re pregnant.”
all of a sudden, his hand lets go, instead using it to slap it over his mouth to conceal his squeals. you jerk your head towards him, afraid of his reaction until you see the tears in his eyes and his bright smile.
you smile back, turning to the doctor who hands you a paper with an article about pregnancy and the symptoms that go along with it. “thank you so much”
“of course, the release forms are at the front desk. call if you need anything. once again, congratulations you two”, she says with a smile.
once she leaves, felix couldn’t hold back, kissing your face practically everywhere. “oh my gosh! y/n!”
you couldn’t help but laugh at his excitement. you were so happy he wasn’t upset or anything. you’ve been wanting to start a family with him for as long as you could remember, but you’re not even married yet.
suddenly, your thoughts hit you like a boulder. “felix… what about the media. what do we tell everyone”
he paused for a moment, he didn’t even think about that aspect of it. “i’ll call them. i’ll call management. if they say it’s not acceptable then fuck it. i’ll quit my job. don’t worry about them, please?”
you smile at felix’s dedication for you. you knew he was going to be such an amazing father.
“wait seriously?! she’s pregnant?”, changbin giggled excitedly.
“seriously. she’s pregnant!”
felix is at the dorms right now with the boys, and he couldn’t be any happier telling them about it. management was very happy for him and understanding of his situation, but he didn’t want to release it to the media just yet.
it’s nearing your third month now, your exhaustion becoming more unbearable by the second. you believed you could push through it though, waiting patiently for felix on the bed.
felix makes it home that night in an exceptionally happy mood. he smothers your face in millions of kisses, holding your hands tight and giggling into your neck. “i love you so much. i can’t wait for our little sprout”
it was difficult to keep his excitement contained around you, but he knew he didn’t have to. you are just as excited as he is.
you slice open the cake, a myriad of pink candies falling out the center. you were so excited to have your baby girl, you could already predict how well she and felix would get along.
“see?! she’s a girl. i knew it.”, seungmin said smugly.
“shut up, we get it. you were the only one that predicted she’s a girl anyways”, jisung replies, jokingly aggrivated.
“yeah, meaning i’m also the only one that was right”, he retorts with a wink.
jisung rolls his eyes, moving to you to give you a hug. it felt awkward hugging all the boys with a baby bump in the way, but it wasn’t all that big yet, so it wasn’t too bad. you continued having fun at the party, singing with the boys the entire time.
you’re so happy your girl is being born into such a good world. you’re lucky all the boys love you so much, you know they’ll all be amazing to your little sprout.
minho looked at you with an incredulous look on his face. “so you want me to make you tteokbokki, but instead of gochujang you want me to use… nutella?”
“i told you man, her pregnancy cravings are fucking crazy”, felix chimes in.
you quickly nod at minho, who instantly gets up to prepare it for you. there’s not a lot that minho wouldn’t do for you or your daughter, considering the fact that you’re best friends already.
“so did you just call me here to cook because felix sucks at anything without a recipe?”
“for the most part yeah”, you let out a giggle. felix walks over to you, kissing you again and peppering them all over your face. a particularly loud groan leaves his lips, and minho jerks his head towards you both.
felix gets off you not too long after, but only to wrap you in a hug from behind, holding your bump up to ease the weight of her. minho visibly gagged at the sight of you two, “okay can you guys stop making out and actually talk to me now? i don’t feel like third wheeling”, he joked.
all three of you began to laugh, you were so excited to start this new chapter with felix.
fuck. what is happening? why does your heart feel so heavy? why do you feel so uneasy. maybe you’re just upset, you’re fine right? you sit on the bed, watching some edits of felix- your guilty pleasure.
all of a sudden, a sharp pain hits your gut. you groan out in pain, tears flooding your eyes. you begin to get up, trying your best to make it to the bathroom. you’re suddenly throwing up again, and you didn’t think anything of it since it was pretty normal.
once you clean yourself up a little, you make your way back to the bed. the sharp pain hit you again, this time making you sink to the floor as you clutch your stomach. “fuck…”
the feeling in between your thighs becomes uneasy, becoming excruciatingly painful. you feel something dripping down your thighs, taking a quick look at it. there’s a pool of blood dripping down onto the hardwood floor, when the pain comes back.
the tears leave your eyes in heavy sobs. you can’t pick yourself back up, the pain becoming unbearable. you’re too weak to make it anywhere, so you try to scream.
you attempts fail, crawling to the bed to grab your phone. you didn’t make it in time. your body gave out on you, blood pouring out from you. you didn’t want to die. you just wanted your sprout. why did this is have to happen?
“y/nnie! i’m home!”
your head jerked up in the direction of the door. you let out a guttural scream. “felix… h-help… please…”
your voice got weaker, not even being able to find the strength to talk. felix rushes to your room, and the world around him stopped. his heart shattered in his chest, immediately calling an ambulance.
“baby… no! stay with me… please. deep breaths okay? you’ll be okay.”
he listened to the dispatcher for instructions on how to help, your eyes slowly fluttering shut. you’re too weak to carry on.
you woke up in the hospital, your baby bump suddenly gone. you touched around your tummy, looking for your little sprout. you noticed felix right next to you, eyes red and incessant tears pouring down his face.
he’s trembling as he grabs your hand, running his thumb over your knuckles. “if i had just gotten there sooner-“
“no felix i… im so sorry. i failed you… i failed our sprout.”, loud sobs filled the room, not being able to contain your emotions anymore. you had lost her for good. she was gone.
“it’s… not your fault. rest now okay? you lost a lot of blood. we can talk in the morning”
he gave you a quick kiss to your forehead, and you shut your eyes. the sleep never came.
you and felix are in bed again, just like you always were. but things were different now. everything felt empty, depressing. you felt empty. you didn’t have your sprout with you.
felix asked to go on hiatus now, wanting to be there for you in every moment. he became hyper-attentive towards you, scared that you might go down a bad path.
the miscarriage took a toll on him just as much as it did you, except you were focusing on the physical parts more. felix watched at night as you stared at your own bare breasts after a shower, producing milk for a baby that wasn’t even growing inside of you anymore. you ran your fingers along your many stretch marks, the skin on your tummy becoming flabby and soft.
you felt ugly. felix was still there to reassure you through everything, but you didn’t know what to do. you blankly stare at your messages from time to time, getting many from your family, close friends and the boys, checking up on you frequently.
felix doesn't know what to do anymore. he doesn't know if he can live with the pain, knowing what could’ve been. it hurts you even more to see felix like this. the sunshine in him has been dulled out, the only thing left are his eyes, swirling with only pain now.
the guiltiness overtook you most nights, felix holding you tight as you both cried again and again. you haven’t slept properly since it happened. seven fucking months.
so close, yet so far.

Chapter Sixteen
chapter warnings: nsfw! (smut)
hi i want to make an announcement quickly!! i'm suffering from writers block at the moment lmao and so i'm still only half way through writing chapter 21... so until i've got myself together and written some more i'm afraid i'll only be posting once a week, so instead of friday and monday posts, for a while it's just going to be mondays :) and of course.. happy monday bffs <3
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“Thank you so much for coming!” Vinny’s parents stood as the two of you got ready to leave, a warm smile on both of their faces, “And I am so so happy we finally got to meet you after all this time, y/n.”
“She’s a good one, Vinny,” his father whispers to him, a small smile on his face as he pats his son on the back, “They don’t come along very often. Don’t ever let her go, son.”
“Trust me,” he nodded, “I won’t.”
“It was so lovely to meet you, Vinny's always talking about you two and I'm so glad we finally got the chance to meet.” You say, leaning your head on Vin's shoulder.
“Thank you, darling, we can’t wait to see you again, hopefully near Vin's birthday!" She smiled, "You two take care!”
You walked out of the venue in shame. You have never felt so terrible over lying about something. Over the night you had gotten to know Vin’s family and you knew it would break their hearts if they were to know the truth about tonight.
The cold of the outside air hit you as Vinny opened the door for you. You thanked him, which he returned with a smile as he told you the uber was on it's way.
"Are you cold?" He asked, a look of concern on his face as the two of you waited by a streetlight, sitting down on the conveniently placed bench. You shook your head, but he could see the goosebumps raising on your arms.
He sighed, taking off his jacket and resting it over your shoulders. Your stubborn act dropped and you smiled, resting your head on his shoulder. He was always warm.
"Thanks." You whispered.
The uber pulled up, and as you and Vinny got in, you held onto him for balance.
“I knew I shouldn’t have worn heels.” You groaned as you got in the car, watching Vin chuckle form the corner of your eye. “Don’t laugh, my feet fucking hurt!”
After getting back to the hotel, you took off your shoes as soon as you stepped out onto your floor, groaning in relief at the feeling of flat ground on your feet. Vin gave you a questionable look, and you stuck your middle finger up at him as you walked down to your room.
You still couldn’t believe how different he looked tonight. There’s nothing like a man in a suit, it was definitely one of your weaknesses. He looked like such a gentleman, and he certainly acted like one tonight.
As he opened the hotel door, you were already pulling at the ribbon at the back of your dress, needing to be set free from it, but it just wasn't coming undone.
“Need some help?” He chuckled, taking his tie off as he shut the door. You thought for a moment before sighing and nodding your head.
He came up behind you, his left hand resting on your waist as he slowly tugged on the ribbon with his right, untying it.
“Y/n?” He broke the silence between the two of you, his voice deep as his fingers lingered on your waist.
“Yeah?”
He didn’t say anything as you turned around to face him. Something had shifted between you two, there was a kind of tension in the air that hasn’t been there in a while, but it had kept coming and going all night. You could tell he felt it too.
“Just... to be clear, there’s still nothing going on between you and Noah, right?”
“After the way spoke to me the other day, no way.” You shook your head. To which he nodded, one of his hands coming up to cup your cheek.
“Good.” He barely breathed out before his lips were on yours, pulling you closer by the waist as you the sudden shock melted away into the kiss. The suddenness of it almost knocked the breath out of you, but before you both went to the point of no return, you pulled away.
“Vinny, are you sure…?” You whisper breathlessly, searching his eyes for any look of uncertainty. "Last time we did this was a mistake, I don't want you to regret this too..."
“All I’ve been able to think about all night is taking that dress off of you, as much as I love how you look in it.” He confessed, and you can tell by the hunger in his eyes that he was serious, he wanted the same as you. "I need you so fucking bad."
“But you said-”
“I don’t care,” he says, “Just for tonight… Please.”
You smirk, noticing how needy he was, and pulling him back in for a kiss.
The two of you end up getting undressed, clothes being tossed all around the room as you make your way towards your bed. Vin’s hands leave your body momentarily as he works on undoing the buttons of his shirt, and your hands work on his trousers. It wasn't long before you were both tangled under the sheets, gasping and holding each other tight, whispering each others names and praises.
Both of you had drunk that night, but neither of you were drunk, the scare when the picture of you and Vin was posted was enough to sober you up. You knew how badly this moment was needed, how you had both been craving each other all night, it was inevitable that you would both give into the need.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
You woke up the next morning to the sound of your ringtone, although there was no sign of your phone. As you looked to the side, you were surprised to see Vinny in your bed, fast asleep under the sheets with you, but as you looked around the room and saw the clothes scattered everywhere you remembered exactly how you got here.
“You don’t know what you do to me.” Vinny says as his hips rock into yours, his lips scattering wet kisses across your chest as all you can do is moan his name. “I’ve been trying my hardest to control myself around you.”
“Don’t…” You whisper, “Me too, Vin… I've never felt like this before.”
“Fuck, I… I...”
The two of you were so close to saying a certain three words last night, three words that would’ve made everything extra awkward this morning as you walked around naked, thankful that Vinny was still asleep as you quickly threw on some clean underwear and an oversized shirt.
Once you finally found your phone, you checked to see who the culprit was that woke you up.
Matt?
You checked to see if there were any messages he had left beforehand, but there weren't. You assumed it was an accident and put your phone on silent, climbing back under the sheets with Vin, smiling at the warmth as you comfortable again.
As much as you wanted to cuddle up to him, to put an arm around him or even face him as he slept, you knew it would be better not to. But he looked so peaceful, you wanted to reach out and fix a piece of hair that had fell over his eyes, or rest your head against him, but you held yourself back.
As you rode him through your high, biting down on your lip, your head thrown back as you felt his warm release coat your walls as his cock twitched inside you, your thighs trembling either side of his hips as you collapsed on to his chest. You two stayed like this for a moment as his fingers brushed through your hair, your felt his heartbeat slowly going back to normal, and he broke the silence.
“This doesn’t change anything between us, right? We’re still just friends?”
“Of course.” You said, finding it difficult to keep your eyes open, “We just needed this... To clear the air...”
He agreed.
As your head hit the pillow again, you couldn’t help but turn to look at him. He looked so peaceful as he slept, the gentle rise and fall of his chest, the way his hair fell over his face. He was beautiful, you wondered if he really knew it.
“Vinny.” You whispered, and when he didn’t move you slightly shook him and raised your voice, “Vin!”
“Huh?” He groaned, struggling to open his eyes, “Wha- What’s the time?”
“It’s just gone 10.”
“Then why the hell are you waking me up?” He grunted, rolling over. "Go back to sleep, y/n."
“I can't and I’m bored.” You complained, “I thought maybe we could go somewhere and get breakfast? Or brunch?”
“You’re not the one who has to drive for five hours later, please let me get my beauty sleep.”
“Okay, fine. I guess I’ll go by myself.” You say, getting out of bed again. You find some clothes in your suitcase, deciding they’d be good enough, and go into the bathroom to get dressed, wash last nights makeup off and brush your teeth.
When you come back out, Vin’s already fully dressed, his usual cargos and band shirt, and he’s sitting on the edge of the bed putting his shoes on.
“I thought you wanted your beauty sleep?” You chuckled.
“Brunch sounded better.”
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“I’m so tired.” Vin groaned as he shifted gears in his car, “I knew we shouldn’t have done brunch.”
“But it was good,” you smile, “Hey, can I put a song on?”
“Really?” He gave you a look from the corner of his eye as he watched the road in front of him. He had already driven back to his home to drop his car off and collect the one he hired from the city the guys were in for their week's break from tour.
“Please?” You begged, and he eventually gave in, telling you the password to his phone which he had bluetoothed to the car.
“Just don’t play anything too slow or I will fall asleep.”
“Yes sir!” You grinned, searching a band up on his spotify.
When we were made… It was no accident…
“Oh hell yeah!” Vinny bobbed his head along to the song as you held onto his phone.
“Sleep Token are playing a show on my birthday this year,” you sigh, “But it sold out before I managed to get any tickets.”
“That sucks,” Vinny frowned, “Have you ever seen them before?”
“No, the last time there was a show near where I live I had to sell my ticket because I couldn’t get the time off work and I didn’t want to risk losing my job.”
“What was the job?”
“I worked at a bookstore at the end of my road. It was perfect, I could walk there and I could walk home on my breaks.”
“What happened? Did you quit?”
“They shut down,” you explained, “Which really sucked because- wait, sorry Noah’s calling me…”
“Hello?”
“What’s up?” You asked as you answered the phone, surprised he called after all these days of no contact.
“I was just wondering how long you guys are gonna be?”
“Why? Are you missing me?” You chuckle, pretending not to notice the side eye you got from Vinny.
“You could say so…” He admitted, “I just wanted to know when you’re back, I... I owe you an apology.”
“I know you do,” you smirk, “I think we’re about 20 minutes away from the hotel, I’ll text you when we’re like 5 minutes away.”
“Okay, thank you.” He said, and there was silence all around.
“Was that all you were calling for?”
“Yeah, I think so. Let me know when you’re nearby, we’re in the hotel for one more night then we’re back on the bus.”
“Okay, cool.” You said, “See you later.”
“Bye.”
As you put your phone back in your lap, you could tell Vinny wanted to say something.
“So…” He took a deep breath, “Are we going to talk about last night?”
Vin's arms were wrapped around your thighs, keeping them spread for him as his face was buried in your heat. His nose bumping your clit as his tongue teased your entrance, all you could do was breathe erratically as you held him in place.
"You're... So..." Your brain had turned to mush as he ate you out, his tongue licking a stripe back up to your clit where he grinned smugly, kissing your clit delicately as he looked up, making eye contact with you as he spoke.
"Too much, baby?"
“What is there to talk about?”
“Don’t play dumb, y/n.”
“I’m being serious.”
“I don’t know, it just didn’t feel like we were just ‘releasing tension’ to me. It felt like there was more to it, like… Just forget it.” He shook his head.
“No, Vinny, what were you going to say?”
“It doesn’t matter.” He huffed, “Let’s just forget it ever happened, okay? It was a mistake, we were drunk.”
“Okay.” You muttered, looking out the passenger window. You both knew that was far from the truth. Neither of you were drunk in the moment, and you certainly didn't regret it.
The rest of the trip back was silent, but not a comfortable silence this time. As the rest of Take Me Back To Eden played on shuffle, you sat and reflected on their lyrics, until you realised you were pretty close to the hotel. You sent a text to Noah letting him know you were almost there, and as you pulled into the car park you noticed how Vin kept the car running.
“Do you mind taking my suitcase in? I’m going to return the car, it’s only a few minutes away. I just don’t want to have to walk back with it.”
“Okay.” You said before you both got out of the car.
He got both suitcases out, wheeling them over to you as you still waited for a reply from Noah.
“My room is number 402, Rick should be in there if you knock.” He said, and you nodded your head in acknowledgement.
“402, got it.”
“Thanks.” He smiled weakly before getting back into the car, driving off as you walked up to the main entrance.
402. 402.
You took the elevator up to the 4th floor, only to find out you were on the 5th and got lost twice before you eventually found Vin’s room.
You knocked on the door, and it slowly opened, revealing Ricky dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans and a miw hoodie, he must have just took a shower as his hair was still damp.
“Is everything okay?” He asked, noticing the two suitcases you were dragging behind you.
“Yeah, Vinny’s gone to return the car and asked if I can give you his suitcase.”
“Oh, okay.” He smiled, taking it off of you. “How was it? Last night?”
“It was nice,” you said, “I got loads of pictures to send to Vin for his parents, they’re such lovely people.”
“Uh huh…” Ricky smirked.
“What?”
“You can tell me, y/n, I’m Vinny’s closest friend. It's impossible for him to keep a secret from me.”
“Tell you what?” You scoffed.
“I know you two are dating, you don’t even try to hide it! The other guys might have bought your ‘I’m going as a photographer’ act but I know Vin too well, I know his parents too well. They wouldn’t invite you as their photographer when they have one in the family.” He laughs, crossing his arms and you pause.
“They weren’t available-“
“Vin’s own sister wasn’t at his parents' anniversary party?”
He got you there.
“Fine." You huffed, "Can I come in? I’ll tell you the truth.”
Rick stood to the side, letting you in. As you walked in, you sat down on one of the beds, crossing your legs as you began to explain.
“I don’t think Vin wanted to tell you because he was embarrassed.”
“Embarrassed?” Ricky furrowed his eyebrows, “He’s embarrassed to be dating you?”
“No! We aren’t together, Rick!” You laugh, “His parents believe he has a girlfriend, he's never told them that he does, but he also never told them the truth- that he hasn't. It’s a bit of a sticky situation, but to save an argument on a special night he asked me if I could pretend to be his girlfriend for the night and he’ll tell them in a week or so that we’ve broken up.”
“Right…” Ricky nodded his head, “So why didn't he just tell me this himself?”
“Because it’s none of your business.” Vinny spat, and you heard the door slam, “Why did you tell him?”
“He made me!” You shook your head, “I tried to stick to the story but he knew too much!”
“Get out.” He said, not even looking at you, “Now.”
“Vinny?”
“You’ve done enough for me, okay. And that’s it.”
“Don’t do this, Vin. We’ve been here before, I don’t want to lose our friendship again over something stupid like this!”
“Please, we’ll talk about this tomorrow. I just need some time... I just need to think.”
You frowned, getting up from the bed, noticing the confusion on Ricky’s face.
“See you, Rick.”
“Bye, y/n.”
You took your suitcase, rolling it through the hallway as you walked to your room. Something was clearly bothering Vinny, and it wasn’t fair that he was taking it out on you. You wondered if he really did regret everything that happened last night, leaving you unsure about what to do, how to move forward.
As you unlocked the door, you switched the lights on and kicked your shoes off, shutting the door behind you before collapsing down onto your bed.
You let out a breath you didn't realise you were holding as you just lied there for a while, staring at the ceiling. You felt awful for what you were doing to Vinny, but you had both agreed last night that it meant nothing, so why was he changing his mind now? You loved him, there was no doubt, but you were sure that it was just platonic, almost sure.
Your phone began to ring, bringing you back from your thoughts, and as you reached into you pocket for it. Noah's name lit up the screen, so you quickly answered, holding your phone up to your ear.
“Hey, I’m here.” He said, and you sat up on your bed.
“Where?”
“Outside your room.” He laughed, “Wanna let me in? Or should I come back with a boombox and get the guys to start a flash mob?”
“What are you talking about?” You laughed as you got up to open the door.
“I want to apologise.” He said as you opened the door, he then hung up the phone. You rolled your eyes, getting up and opening the door.
“It would’ve been better with the flash mob.” You smile, letting him in.
“Look, I’ve been so caught up in work lately, which is inevitable, you know. But I never meant to upset you, y/n, I didn't know that's how I was making you feel. I'm sorry.” He says, sitting down on the bed with you. “We’re working on our new album, the record company keeps asking us for updates and to send them snippets of what we’ve been working on and I know you wouldn’t leak anything but I can’t risk anything.”
“It’s okay.” You said, crossing your legs, “I understand.”
“But you don’t,” he said, “I can tell I’ve upset you, and that isn’t fair-“
“Noah, I knew what I was getting into when we started… this, whatever this is. You don’t have to apologise.”
“Let me make it up to you- properly.” He offered.
“And how would you do that?”
Noah thought for a moment, clearly he hadn’t thought this far ahead.
“I have an idea, but you’ll have to wait and see.”
“But I don’t like waiting.” You frowned, and he shook his head.
“I know,” he smirked, “I promise, I will make it up to you big time. I just need to contact a few people first. But until then… Do you maybe want to do something tonight?”
“What are you suggesting?” You smiled.
“I don’t know, maybe go out somewhere? There’s a karaoke night tonight at this place down the road, Jolly and I suggested it to the guys as a joke but Folio seemed pretty down-“
“Karaoke?” Your eyes lit up, “Get your shoes back on, call the guys, we’re going!”

Pet for Rent, Chapter 2/4 (The Idea)
A CS Modern AU Story
Thanks for joining me for chapter 2! Writing this story has been a bit therapeutic for me after losing my Zeke, and adopting Winston has been, too. I hope you'll stay with me for the rest of the story.
Shout out to @kmomof4 who sent Winston the ducky toy he has in the picture. His Aunt Krystal spoiled him with a welcome package the week we got him!
Thanks so much to @hookedmom. I'm lucky to have the best and most patient beta!
SUMMARY: Emma Swan tries to cheer up her heartbroken son by 'renting' a dog from the local animal shelter. When she attempts to do it a second time, she makes a mistake, and realizes the dog has been rented by someone else the same day - a very handsome man named Killian Jones.
CHAPTER SUMMARY: Emma, Henry, Killian and Norman/Winston spend more time together. When Henry continues feeling sad about having to leave the dog at the animal shelter, Killian proposes an idea that might solve the problem.
RATING: M (for smut in the last chapter, which can easily be skipped if that's not your thing)
WORDS: 6821
ALSO POSTED TO Ao3 and FFN
Story begins under the cut
Emma didn’t think it was possible for four hours with a stranger to pass so quickly. Sooner than she expected, Killian was looking at his phone and announcing that it was time to return Norman to the shelter. It may have been her imagination, but it sounded like there was a note of wistfulness in his voice.
Henry took control of the dog on the walk back, giving the adults an opportunity to resume the conversation that had been ongoing throughout most of their time together. Emma watched her son handling Norman as he wandered from one side of the path to the other to explore in the tall grass and she commented, “Henry is gonna sleep good tonight.”
“I don’t doubt that. He told me he had his last game of the season this morning.”
“That, in addition to playing fetch and ‘keep away’ with Norman, and all of the running around he did with you, will have him zonking out early.” They walked on a few paces, before she added, “I want to thank you, Killian, for spending so much time with him. Since he doesn’t have a father, he doesn’t get a lot of one-on-one time with a man, so I really appreciate it.”
“It was my pleasure. He’s a good listener and a fast learner.”
“Yeah, I kinda wish he had more games left, so he could apply what you taught him. I’m afraid he’ll forget it by next season. You’re wonderful at teaching, and very patient.”
“Thank you, Emma. I truly did enjoy it.”
“The youth league is always begging for people to coach. Maybe you could do that next year.”
Killian looked thoughtful. “Perhaps I could, if I’m still here.”
“Any idea where would you go if you decide to leave?”
“Not really, but it wouldn’t be terribly far away. I want to stay close to Liam.”
When the shelter came into sight, Henry turned around and dragged Norman back to Emma and Killian. “I had fun today. Can we do this again?”
“I’ll have to check our schedule to see when we’ll have another chance to rent Norman,” Emma answered.
Henry shook his head. “No, I mean with Norman and Killian.”
“Oh, uh,” Emma stammered, glancing at Killian, who was scratching behind his ear. “I don’t know about that, kid. This was just an accident and Killian was nice enough to make the best of the situation.”
“But Mom, he had fun, too, didn’t you, Killian?”
“What did I tell you about putting him on the spot?”
“Sorry, Killian,” Henry apologized. “But it did seem like you were having fun.”
Killian reached forward to ruffle the boy’s hair. “It’s quite alright, lad, and you’re right - I had a very good time with you and your mother today. And Winston, of course.”
“You mean Norman,” Emma remarked.
“He still seems more like a Winston to me. Don’t you see the resemblance between him and England’s former Prime Minister?”
Emma took in the dog’s jutting lower jaw, drooping jowls and prominent forehead, and had to admit he did share some physical traits with Winston Churchill. “Yeah, now that you mention it, I do see it.”
“Anyway, at the risk of being too forward, it would be nice to have another day with you and your boy, if you’re amenable to that, Swan.”
Emma thought for a moment, then said, “Henry, why don’t you take Norman to the end of the path and give us a minute, okay?”
He started to protest, but seemed to think better of it. “Come on, Norman. Mom doesn’t want me to hear what she’s gonna say.”
Emma watched him go, her mouth agape over his comment. She heard Killian chuckle and turned to look at him.
“He’s quite a bright young man,” he laughed.
“Yeah, he’s getting too smart for his own good,” she agreed. “But he’s still a little boy and I’m a protective mom. I don’t want to promise him something that’s not going to happen, so if you’re not serious about doing this again…”
“I assure you, Emma,” he interrupted. “I wouldn’t dream of letting him down. If you’re willing to give me your contact information, I’ll send you some options and we can figure out a day that works.”
She eyed him critically for a few seconds, seeing nothing but sincerity in his expression. “I know Henry would really like that.”
“Only Henry?” he asked, quirking a brow.
She couldn’t help but smile. “I have to admit, I had a really good time today, too. So, um, to answer your question, I am, how did you say it, amenable to doing it again.”
His grin made her heart do a pleasant little flip. She made sure Henry and Norman were okay while waiting for Killian to pull out his phone and start a new contact. Once he did, he handed it to her so she could add her information.
After handing it back, they began walking again. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him checking the phone screen. “It’s not a fake number, by the way,” she said.
“That’s good to know,” he returned with a smirk, while typing out a text to her so she would have his info. “Is that something you’ve done before?”
“Maybe,” she replied cryptically.
“In that case, I feel honored that you gave me the real thing.”
She giggled in response, giving him a slight nudge with her elbow as they reached the end of the path.
“What did you say, Mom?” Henry asked, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
“Killian and I are going to look at our schedules to find a day that works.”
“Yay!” Henry shouted. “How about next Saturday?”
“Calm down, kid. I told you we’re going to figure it out.”
They arrived at the shelter and Killian opened the door and held it for them. David was sitting at a desk behind the counter, tapping away at the computer keyboard. He looked up with a broad smile when they entered. “How did it go?”
“Good,” Emma replied. “Thank you for allowing us to borrow Norman for the day.”
David looked between the two adults standing before him, obviously wanting more details. “Did you…all of you…get along okay?”
“Yes we did, Dave,” Killian said smugly.
There were several seconds when all they could hear was the barking of some of the dogs in the back. Finally, David sighed. “Alright, I guess I’ll just take Norman back to his cage, then.”
“Oh, uh,” Emma said, giving Killian a wink, “one of us will be in touch to schedule another day for us…all of us…to rent Norman again.”
David’s grin told them he knew exactly what that meant.

“I hear you met my future brother-in-law,” Belle said. It was Monday, and Emma had stopped at the library to return a couple of books and choose some more before her shift at the sheriff’s station.
“News travels fast.”
“Killian always eats lunch with us after church. He told us about the mix-up at the animal shelter and said he had a great time with you and Henry.”
“He seems like a nice guy,” Emma said, moving to a shelf and studying the books more closely than necessary.
“He thinks very highly of you, too.”
Emma shot her a brief glance. “Oh, yeah? What did he say?”
“Well,” Belle began, clearly struggling to be non-chalant, “he said you were very easy to talk to and he enjoyed your sense of humor. He also said he had fun helping Henry with his soccer skills.”
“He was really good with Henry and I, um, I liked talking to him, too. He’s supposed to contact me to figure out another time to rent Norman together. Henry asked if we could.”
“I don’t suppose you protested too much, did you?”
Emma chose a book off of the shelf and studiously perused the summary on the back. “You know I want my kid to be happy.”
Belle crossed the space between them and laid her hand over the book, garnering Emma’s full attention. “To the best of my knowledge, you’ve never once introduced your son to a man you may be interested in dating in all the years I’ve known you.”
“Wait a second…first of all, I didn’t introduce him to Henry - we met accidentally, and secondly, who says I’m interested in dating him? We’re simply planning to rent Norman together again. It’s really not a big deal, Belle.”
“If you say so, but I have to tell you that I’ve never seen Killian so animated while talking about someone. You certainly made an impression on him.”
“I’m sure I did. Dressed in old sweatpants and a hoodie, no makeup, hair a complete disaster - I was a mess.”
“He didn’t mention that. He just talked about how he enjoyed the time he spent with you and how much he’s looking forward to seeing you again.”
Emma could feel her face heating and knew she must be as red as the leather jacket she was wearing. She wasn’t ready to admit that she was just as eager to see him again, too.
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
That evening, Emma had just finished checking over Henry’s homework and shooed him off to the shower, when her phone dinged with an incoming text. Picking it up from the kitchen counter, she couldn’t help the smile that crossed her face upon seeing Killian’s name.
K: I’m hoping this message reaches Emma Swan. If I’ve reached someone else, you can blame it on her. It was followed by a smirking emoji.
She shook her head at his ridiculousness, and decided to play along.
E: I’m afraid you’ve been misled. This Emma Swan must be a horrible person. She added a winking emoji.
It took a few seconds for the three bubbles to pop up, then she laughed out loud when she read his reply.
K: Oh, she is a terrible, awful person to give me a fake number.
E: She’s probably not used to giving out her number to random men who just happened to rent the same dog she did.
K: That seems to be a plausible excuse. Perhaps I should forgive her.
E: Oh, you most definitely should.
K: Very well. If I’m ever fortunate enough to see her again, I shall grant her my forgiveness.
E: That’s very gentlemanly of you.
K: I’m always a gentleman.
Emma heard the clothes hamper lid slam in the bathroom, signifying that Henry was finished with his shower.
E: I need to get Henry into bed. I’ll be back in twenty minutes or so, depending on how resistant he decides to be tonight.
K: Tell him I said goodnight.
E: That will probably get him all excited and it may be longer than twenty minutes.
K: I’m willing to wait.
Emma left her phone on the sofa and went to Henry’s bedroom, where he was getting settled under the covers. Sitting on the edge of his bed, she brushed his damp bangs away from his forehead.
“Did you brush your teeth?”
“You ask me that every night.”
“Yes, and half the time you’ve neglected to do it.”
“I just have to brush them again in the morning.”
Emma raised an eyebrow at him. “Did you, or didn’t you?”
He sighed dramatically. “I did. Wanna smell my breath to make sure?”
“Not particularly. I believe you. Ready to say your prayers?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. Name three things of thanks,” she said, initiating their nightly tradition.
Henry tapped his chin in thought. “I scored two goals at recess.”
“That’s cool.”
“Yeah, I used what Killian taught me. Oh! That’s my second thing - meeting Killian.”
“Actually, he texted me while you were in the shower.”
“He did? Did he say when we can rent Norman together again?”
“We haven't had a chance to discuss it yet. He did say to tell you goodnight.”
“Tell him I said goodnight to him, too.”
“I will. What’s your third thing?”
“Umm…we changed seats in class and now I’m sitting beside Avery.”
“Just make sure the two of you don’t get into trouble for talking too much.”
“We won’t.”
“Good. Now, what three things do you want to ask of God?”
“To help me do good on my math test tomorrow, to send me another dog, and to let us see Killian again soon.”
They both folded their hands and closed their eyes while Henry said his prayers. When he finished, Emma read him a chapter of Fantastic Mr. Fox, kissed him goodnight and left his room, turning off the light on her way out.
Picking her phone up from her couch, she scrolled through the text conversation with Killian, smiling at the light banter they shared.
E: I’m back.
When a response didn’t come through for a couple of minutes, she went to her bedroom to change into her pajamas. Then she brushed her teeth, washed her face, and applied moisturizer.
When she went back into the living room, she saw a new message on her phone.
K: Is it okay if I call you? I’m not fond of texting.
She noticed that the time stamp was right after she put her phone down, over ten minutes ago. Instead of answering, she brought up his contact and hit the call button.
“Hello, Swan.”
“Hey, sorry if I kept you waiting.”
“I was hoping I didn’t upset you by asking to call.”
“No, nothing like that. I just decided to do my nighttime routine,” Emma explained. “Henry said to tell you goodnight, by the way. I always ask him to tell me three things he’s thankful for from his day, and you were involved in two of them.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah. He scored two goals playing soccer today at recess, because of what you taught him, and he was thankful for meeting you. That’s the third night in a row he’s said that one.”
“That’s very kind of him to say.”
“Well, you made quite an impression on him and he’s eager to see you again. Speaking of which, what does your schedule look like for the next few weeks?”
“It’s wide open, actually. Do Saturdays work best for you?”
“Yeah, because Henry is in school during the week and I work until five every day. I also work one Saturday a month. This coming Saturday is the one I work this month.”
“How about the following week?”
She switched him to speaker and pulled up her calendar app. “That looks good. Henry gets a haircut that morning at nine, but we could meet after that. The weather is going to start getting too cold if we wait much longer.”
“Liam has been telling me to be prepared for a cold winter. He says Maine is quite a bit colder than England during the winter months,” he stated. “Shall we make plans for that day, then?”
“Sounds good to me. Want to meet at the shelter at ten-thirty?”
“Actually,” Killian began, then paused for a few moments before clearing his throat and continuing. “I was wondering if you would agree to me picking up the two of you to go to the shelter together.”
Emma bit her lip, considering his offer. Her gut instinct was to decline because it would seem too much like a date, but her practical side said it was logical for them to make the twenty minute drive together.
She knew he was waiting for her answer and was probably having second thoughts about asking, since she was taking so long. “Um, sure, that would be fine,” she finally said. “I’ll text my address to you.”
“Okay, good. Shall we say ten o’clock? Will that give you enough time for Henry’s haircut?”
“Yeah. It only takes about twenty minutes, if that long. His barber is Jefferson and he’s pretty fast.”
“Liam recommended him and I had an appointment there a couple of weeks ago. He is fast, if a little…quirky.”
“Oh, you mean because he wears the top hat? I guess he’s trying to live up to the name of his shop.”
“Just naming his shop the Mad Hatter of Hair makes him sound a bit eccentric.”
Emma laughed. “He’s harmless, though. His daughter Grace is in Henry’s class and she’s very sweet. Jefferson is raising her by himself. His wife passed away before Grace started kindergarten.”
“How sad. Now I feel bad for judging him.”
“I wouldn’t say you were judging him, just making an accurate observation. I knew him before his wife died and he was every bit as quirky as he is now.”
They continued talking for another twenty minutes. Just like the day they met, the conversation didn’t lag at all as they transitioned easily from one subject to another. Before they ended the call, Killian asked if it would be alright to call her again later in the week and she agreed without hesitation.
Lying in bed that night, Emma smiled dreamily as she replayed their conversation in her mind. She may be venturing into self-imposed forbidden territory ever since Henry’s father abandoned her, but Killian Jones intrigued her and she couldn’t find it within herself to care.
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Killian called Emma four more times over the next two weeks. Their conversations lasted longer each time, until they spent over an hour talking and laughing on Thursday, before their scheduled outing.
He suggested that they take Norman back to Storybrooke’s nature preserve after picking him up, which she thought was a great idea. She mentioned that she and Henry spent quite a bit of time there during the summer, hiking the trails and wading in the creek. Despite intending to visit, Killian hadn’t been able to get there yet and was happy to know his first time would be with Emma, Henry and Norman.
Saturday morning found him taking more time than usual to get ready. He chided himself for being a bit vain, but wanted to make the extra effort for the lovely lady Swan. If things went well, he was planning to ask her out on a proper date.
He had confided his intention to Belle, hoping she would give him advice about where to take Emma, should she agree. Not only did his future sister-in-law present him with recommendations, she also mentioned that she would be happy to watch Henry, and was sure Liam would, too.
Once Killian was satisfied with his appearance, he tried to occupy himself until it was time to drive to Emma and Henry’s house. After going online and paying some bills, washing the few dishes in the sink and sorting his laundry, he still had about twenty minutes left.
His heart sank when he heard the notification for an incoming text, thinking it might be Emma cancelling their plans. He was relieved, then a little apprehensive to see it was from his brother. Belle promised she wouldn’t say anything to Liam about his plans to ask Emma on a date, but they were an engaged couple and couples weren’t supposed to keep secrets from each other. Unfortunately, his former girlfriend hadn’t abided by that rule, since she kept one whopper of a secret from him.
L: Any plans for this afternoon, little brother?
Killian dropped his head back with a sigh. Not only did Liam insist on calling him that irritating moniker, now he had to explain that he did indeed have plans. He was sure he would have to answer questions about what they were and with whom, since he rarely did anything on the weekends.
K: Actually, I do.
L: Oh, really? What are you doing?
K: I’m renting Winston from the shelter again.
L: Great! Belle is working today. Would you mind if I came over to see the little guy?
Killian’s thumbs hovered over his screen, trying to decide how to tell his brother no without sounding rude. Even though Liam was acquainted with Emma, he tended to be over protective, and Killian didn’t want him giving her the third degree or making her feel uncomfortable. Plus, he selfishly wanted to spend time alone with her and Henry.
Glancing at the clock, he saw it was almost time for him to leave. Quickly, he typed a message he was hoping would appease Liam.
K: Sorry, not this time. Emma, Henry and I made plans to spend another day together with him.
As he pulled on his jacket, he heard another notification. Closing his eyes momentarily, he opened them to read Liam’s message, then released a relieved breath.
L: I hope the four of you have a good time, so I can see that look of happiness on your face again.

“Henry, Killian’s here!” Emma announced, dropping the curtain after seeing his car pull up to the curb.
“Coming!” she heard him yell in response.
She quickly ducked into the bathroom and inspected her appearance in the mirror one more time. She hoped to make a better impression on Killian by applying light makeup and pulling her hair back into a neat ponytail. Her outfit was simple - jeans, sneakers, her favorite light blue blouse, and red leather jacket.
The doorbell rang as she re-entered the living room, but before she could get to the door, Henry sped past her to pull it open. “Hey, Killian!” he said excitedly.
“Hello, lad,” Killian answered, then shifted his eyes from Henry to Emma. She saw him swallow before giving her one of his winning smiles. “Good morning, Emma.”
“Hi, Killian. You’re right on time.”
“Not being prompt is bad form, Swan.” Looking at Henry again, he stated, “Your haircut makes you look a bit older.”
Henry reached up to run both hands along the sides of his head. “Do you really think so?”
“Aye, at least a year or two.”
“Please don’t say that,” Emma said, handing Henry his jacket. “He’s growing up way too fast as it is.”
During the drive to the shelter, Henry talked about one thing after another. Emma wondered if Killian would tire of her son’s constant chatter, but his questions at regular intervals proved he was fully engaged in what Henry had to say.
Meanwhile, she spent the time admiring the man beside her. He was dressed in dark, stonewashed jeans, an army green button-down shirt, and the same black leather jacket he wore the first time they met. His scruff was neatly trimmed and his dark hair artfully combed. His rich laugh at some of Henry’s comments was a sound she was sure she would never get tired of hearing.
When they entered the shelter, David gave them a smug smile that Emma tried to ignore. She knew he was probably patting himself on the back for his matchmaking, but she really didn’t mind, because meeting Killian was, so far, a positive experience.
Norman was extremely excited to see them again, and after everyone got into the car, they were on their way back to Storybrooke. Henry was preoccupied with Norman in the back seat, so the adults finally had a chance to chat with each other. Their conversation was as free-flowing as it had been every other time they spoke in the past two weeks. Emma had never met anyone so easy to talk to, and wondered if it was because their backgrounds were so similar.
During their earlier phone conversations, she learned his father had abandoned his family when Killian and Liam were little, leaving their mother to raise them alone. She shared how she was abandoned at a fire station baby box when she was less than a week old, and had never been adopted. They both had been in situations where they were deceived and misled by the person they loved. Emma came to realize that being able to empathize with someone else made it easier to connect with them, just as she had with Killian.
The crisp autumn weather was perfect for hiking at the nature preserve. They explored all of the available paths and walked along the shores of the creek. The water was too chilly for wading, but Norman enjoyed splashing in now and then when he spotted a particularly intriguing leaf, bug or stick.
After hiking for a couple of hours, they took a break to drink Gatorade and snack on protein bars, thoughtfully packed by Killian. He also had treats for Norman, which Henry used to try and teach the dog again how to sit on command.
They stayed until the last possible minute before getting into the car for the drive back to the shelter. No one spoke for several miles, until Henry finally said, “I really wish we didn’t have to take Norman back there. He’s always so sad. Why can’t we just adopt him, Mom?”
Emma glanced over at Killian, who met her eyes for a second before directing his back to the road. “I wish we could, but it wouldn’t really be fair to Norman. We’re both gone all day and he would have to be penned up that whole time.”
“But he loves us and we love him!” Henry exclaimed. “Ernie didn’t have to be penned up and he was fine during the day.”
Emma turned to look at her son. “I know, kid, but it was easy with Ernie. He was with us for several years and was older. Norman is young and full of energy, so he’s going to need a lot more attention and training. I wouldn’t trust him being in the house all day by himself.”
Henry heaved a huge sigh. “Okay.”
They were all silent for the rest of the drive. Emma saw Killian look at her out of the corner of his eye once in a while, but they didn’t carry on a conversation. She spent the time thinking about the practicality of adopting Norman, but knew she would have to stick to her guns, because it just wouldn’t be fair to the rambunctious dog to be cooped up all day.
When they reached the shelter and exited the car, Killian slowed Emma down by placing a hand on her arm, while Henry entered the building with Norman. “Emma, I’ve been giving it some thought and I have an idea, if you’re open to it.”
She shrugged slightly. “Sure, let’s hear it.”
“Perhaps, if you adopted Win-, er, Norman, I could keep him during the day while you’re at work and school. I could pick him up in the morning before you leave and drop him off after you get home.”
“Sort of like shared custody or dog sitting?” she asked, turning to face him.
He chuckled. “Aye, something like that, I suppose.”
“I don’t know, Killian. That seems like a pretty big commitment between people who barely know each other. You’re not even sure you’re going to stay in Storybrooke.”
He scratched behind his ear. “If I move, it won’t be for a while, since I signed a six month lease on my apartment. That would give us time to train the dog. I know we’ve just met, but I…I’ve enjoyed getting to know you and your boy. I’m hoping this is just the beginning of our friendship.”
Emma stuck her hands in the back pocket of her jeans and rocked back on her heels. “I hope so, too, but I’m still not sure about the arrangement you’re suggesting.”
“I completely understand,” he said, then paused before asking, “Are you counting it out altogether, or will you consider it?”
She pulled her lip between her teeth in thought for a few seconds. “I’ll consider it,” she finally answered.
He gave her a small smile, then moved to open the door for her.
They went inside to see Henry sitting cross-legged on the floor with Norman, the dog’s head resting on his leg. David was listening to the boy give him a detailed description of their day at the nature preserve and looked up to give them a big grin. “Sounds like you had quite the adventure today.”
“Aye, we all had quite a workout,” Killian responded. “It’s quite a lovely place.”
“Yeah, we’re lucky to have it in Storybrooke,” David said. “Mary Margaret takes her class there on a field trip every year.”
Henry’s head whipped around. “Mrs. Nolan didn’t take our class!”
“It’s early in the school year,” Emma said. “I’m sure she’ll take you sometime.”
“They usually go in the spring,” David explained, as he walked around the end of the counter. “Are you ready for me to take Norman?”
“No,” Henry said, his voice muffled as he buried his face in the dog’s neck.
The three adults exchanged understanding looks. They gave the boy a couple more minutes, before Emma picked up the end of the leash and put her hand on Henry’s head. “It’s time to say goodbye to him, kid.”
Henry drew back to look at Norman. “Goodbye, boy. I’m gonna miss you.” He kissed the dog on top of the head and rubbed his ears.
Emma reached down to pet the dog, then handed the leash to David. Killian stood beside her to pat Norman, too, telling him to be a good boy.
David bid them all goodbye, then headed to the back with the dog reluctantly following him. Henry looked up at Emma from where he still sat on the floor. “Mom…”
“Henry, don’t say it. I already told you why it’s not a good idea to adopt him right now.”
“Right now? Does that mean we can adopt him later?”
“That’s not what I meant,” Emma replied, giving him her patented ‘don’t push it’ look. “Let’s go, kid.”
With a long-suffering sigh, Henry pushed himself to his feet and followed her out the door Killian was holding open. Once they were in the car and on their way to Storybrooke, Killian asked, “Would you, um, would the two of you like to get a late lunch at Granny’s, when we get back?”
“What do you think, Henry?” Emma threw over her shoulder.
He turned from where he had been glumly staring out the window. “Can I get a cheeseburger and fries?”
“Sure.”
“And a chocolate milkshake?” When his mom didn’t answer immediately, he added, “Please? It’ll make me less sad about Norman.”
Killian chuckled lowly as Emma rolled her eyes, muttering, “I’m raising a con artist.”
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Killian mentally kicked himself the whole way back into town. What was he thinking, asking Emma to agree to what was basically a long term commitment? He probably ruined his chance for asking her out on a date, too. He was sure she would think he was coming on too strong, if he did.
At least she agreed to have lunch with him. Hopefully, she would also allow him to continue calling her. Those phone calls and the texts they shared were always the highlight of his week.
As much as he enjoyed his time with Emma, having Henry with them made it even better. Killian hadn’t had a lot of interaction with children, but it was easy being around Emma’s son. He was bright, articulate and funny - very much like his mother. He was also respectful and well-mannered.
On the day they met, Emma confided to him that she was afraid she was making a lot of mistakes as a single mom, who never had a mother of her own to set an example, but he strongly disagreed. She wasn’t perfect - no parent was, but Henry seemed to be well-adjusted and confident, so she was obviously doing many things right.
Killian saw how much Henry loved the dog and wished he could help make the boy’s desire to adopt him come true, which is why he made the offer. He had come to love the furry little rascal, too, and would seriously consider adopting Norman himself. He just didn’t know if he could take the dog with him if he decided to move away from Storybrooke.
He pulled up in front of Granny’s, cut the engine, unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the door, as he heard Emma and Henry do the same. Typical of a young boy, Henry took off running and was already skipping up the steps to the front door by the time Killian reached Emma’s side.
“He’s pretty excited,” Emma explained. “Eating out is kind of a treat because we don’t do it very often.”
“I hope I wasn’t out of line for asking,” Killian said.
“No, not at all. It really perked him up.”
Killian halted at the bottom of the steps, causing Emma to stop and look at him. “I also hope I didn’t upset you by making the offer to watch Norman.”
“You didn’t,” she assured him. “I’m definitely going to think about it. I really miss having a dog around, too. I just have to weigh all the pros and cons.”
He smiled and nodded his understanding, then bounded up the steps to open the door. Henry was at the counter talking animatedly to Ruby, who looked up and gaped at Emma in surprise.
“Hey, girl! I didn’t realize you knew the very handsome new guy in town!”
Killian could feel his ears turning red, when Emma glanced at him before replying. “Hi, Ruby. Actually, we met by accident a couple of weeks ago.”
“By accident, huh? Did you hit him with your car or something?”
“Nothing like that. We were both renting the same dog at the animal shelter.”
“Was seeing him today another accident?”
Emma put her hands on her hips. “Not that it’s any of your business, but no. It was planned this time.”
Killian wasn’t sure he had ever seen such a wide grin on the waitress’s face. They all gave Ruby their drink order, then Emma ushered Henry to a booth and Killian slid in across from them.
“Are you getting lasagna?” she asked.
“I think I’m going to try the grilled cheese and onion rings. Someone recommended them to me,” he smirked.
“Very intelligent person,” Emma grinned.
“Aye, that she is.”
Ruby arrived at their table with their drinks and Henry’s milkshake. She gave Emma and Killian another broad smile when she took down their identical orders. “His and hers grilled cheeses, huh? Maybe there’s some truth to the saying that couples begin to eat alike.”
Emma sighed and rolled her eyes. “I think the saying is that couples start to look alike, and we aren’t a couple. We’re just friends.”
“I see,” Ruby said, glancing at Henry, who was busy spooning the thick milkshake into his mouth. “Well, they do say there are benefits to being friends.” She gave them an exaggerated wink, then turned and made her way to the kitchen.
“Ruby isn’t exactly the epitome of subtlety,” Emma said, a blush filling her cheeks with color.
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
“It was nice of Killian to take us to Granny’s today,” Henry said, as he was climbing into bed that night.
“Yes, it was. I was very proud of you for remembering to thank him without needing a reminder.”
“Thanks for letting me get a milkshake, even if it didn’t make me stop feeling sad about not being able to adopt Norman.”
Emma tucked the covers around his shoulders. “I know, but try not to think about it.”
“I can’t,” Henry pouted. “He’s probably crying himself to sleep tonight.”
“I think he’s probably going to sleep remembering all of the fun we had today.”
Henry stubbornly shook his head. “Nuh-uh. He’s wondering why we didn’t bring him home with us.”
“Henry,” Emma sighed, “I know you’re sad, but we just can’t…”
“I know,” he interrupted, “you keep saying it wouldn’t be fair for him to be alone all day, but he’s already alone at the shelter all day, except for Mr. Nolan, and at night, there’s nobody there at all.”
“There’s other dogs and cats…”
“That’s not the same. They’re all in cages by themselves. If we adopted him, he could sleep on my bed, like Ernie did.”
Knowing she was going around in circles with him, Emma reached over and picked up the book from his nightstand. “How about if you say your prayers after I read to you tonight?”
Heaving a dramatic sigh, he said, “Fine, but it’s not gonna make me forget about Norman.”
After reading to him for fifteen minutes, hearing his prayers - which mentioned Norman and Killian several times - and kissing him goodnight, she left his room. Heading into her own bedroom, she went through her nightly routine automatically, lost in thought.
Once she was in her pajamas, free of make-up and teeth brushed, she peeked in on her son to find him sound asleep. She made sure the front door was deadbolted, turned off the lights in the kitchen and living room and went back into her room. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she stared at the phone in her hand, mind racing.
Finally, she pulled up Killian’s contact and hit the call button.
She was almost ready to hang up after it rang four times, not wanting it to go to voicemail, when he answered. “Hello, Swan. I wasn’t expecting to talk to you again so soon.”
“I hope I’m not calling too late.”
“Not at all. What’s on your mind?”
“Henry was still upset about Norman before he went to sleep. I feel like I’m being selfish by not allowing him to get a dog.”
“Why do you feel that way?”
“Because one of my excuses is that a dog is a lot of work and would need training, which it would. I’m making it seem like all the work would fall on me. Now, I know Henry is only eight, but I think he’s pretty responsible for his age.”
“From what I’ve seen, I would agree with that,” Killian cut in.
“Thank you. Anyway, I think he would be able to help train and take care of the dog, so that excuse is out the window. The other big concern I had is that the dog would have to be home by himself all day, which brings me to the reason I’m calling. I’ve been seriously considering your offer, if it’s still on the table.”
“It is.”
“Are you sure that’s not asking too much of you? I mean, you’re home during the day, but you’re working. How would you be able to take care of him?”
“I’ve had him here with me a few times already and he makes himself right at home. He’s housebroken and doesn’t demand too much attention. If he starts getting restless, I take him outside and play with him for a while. That works with my schedule because I have to take breaks now and then, when I’ve been staring at the computer screen for too long.”
She blew out a long breath. “What if it turns out to be too big of a commitment? We’ve spent some time together and have done a lot of talking to get to know each other, but we’re still basically strangers.”
“Well actually…” Killian began, then paused for several moments before continuing, “I was hoping to have an opportunity to ask you something today, but the right moment never presented itself.”
Emma’s heart began to beat faster in anticipation of what she suspected he might ask. “What did you want to ask?”
“Would you, um…would you consider going out with me?”
Standing up to pace back and forth between her bed and dresser, she chewed her lip in contemplation. She could literally count how many dates she’d had since Henry’s birth on one hand. She only went on those dates to appease Ruby, who was convinced Emma’s Mr. Right was out there somewhere, but she hadn’t been attracted to any of the men.
She couldn’t say the same about Killian. From the time she laid eyes on him, she felt an attraction that only got stronger the more she got to know him. He seemed to be the total package - kind, intelligent, considerate, and insanely hot.
“What happens if we adopt Norman, then go out with each other and realize we’re not compatible?”
“If you adopt him, I would keep my commitment to help take care of him, even if we decide dating doesn’t work for us. You have my word, Emma.”
She came to a halt at the end of her bed and turned to face the mirror above her dresser. For eight years, Henry had been her number one priority and always would be, but maybe it was time for her to do something for herself. Could that something be going out with Killian Jones?
She was so deep in thought, she didn’t realize how long she had been standing there considering her answer. When Killian finally spoke, his quiet voice startled her. “What do you say, Swan?”
“Yes, Killian. I will go out with you.”

Got a 1k fic prompt over on ao3 about Stede getting worried about Ed and shaking him awake in the night to make sure he's okay and Ed reassuring Stede that he's okay and not going anywhere! Just the sweet thing I needed to write about right now. 💕
I'm still taking prompts to write 1k word fics about! If you need to read about something sweet or healing right now, don't be afraid to ask!
--
Alright, yeah, Ed shouldn’t have snapped.
But he was kind of at the end of his fucking rope. They’d been living at their new place - “the inn,” they called it, even though it was slowly just starting to look like a regular house built for two - for about a week, and Ed hadn’t had a single full night’s sleep the entire fucking time.
The problem was this: Stede kept shaking him awake.
Every night.
Ed loved sharing a bed with Stede, mostly. He loved cuddling with him, waking up in his arms, feeling Stede all around him. He loved how their bed smelled like both of them, how he felt so safe.
But every night, right about as soon as Ed was finally getting some good, deep sleep, Stede kept shaking him awake.
Ed wouldn’t mind Stede waking him up, if there was some real reason. He’d be happy for Stede to wake him up even if he was just feeling a little lonely and needed someone to talk to.
Every time, though, Stede looked frantic as he was shaking Ed awake, but then he’d kind of sigh and pretend that he hadn’t just looked scared half out of his mind, and Ed would be left frustrated and exhausted.
And Stede wouldn’t fucking tell him why.
The sleep deprivation was finally getting to him, because that morning Stede had commented that he looked tired as Ed was stumbling blearily through their kitchen, and Ed had snapped back, “and whose fucking fault is that, Stede?”
Stede had looked like Ed had just punched him in the gut.
That was the frustrating thing, Ed thought, as he took a quick walk around the edge of the garden Stede was plotting out in their front yard. He couldn’t stay mad, not really. He knew Stede was keeping something from him, but he just didn’t have it in him to even maintain a state of any real annoyance, because Stede was obviously worried sick about something.
He just wished Stede would share it with him. Wasn’t that supposed to be part of your partner’s job, to share the weight when something worried you?
Ed went back inside, and apologized, and Stede promised to stop shaking him awake at night.
“I just wish you’d tell me why,” Ed said.
Stede’s smile didn’t reach his eyes. “I’m just being stupid, you don’t have to worry about it.”
That night, Ed got a blissful full night’s sleep, but Stede still looked tired in the morning.
Ed wasn’t terribly surprised - Stede had slept that night with his head on Ed’s chest at what seemed like a bit of an uncomfortable angle.
The days passed, and Ed was able to sleep through the nights, and he felt better than he had in years.
He still didn’t think Stede was sleeping very well, though. He didn’t sleep with his head on Ed’s chest at that uncomfortable-looking angle every night, but he always kept his hand, at least, on Ed’s chest, or on the side of Ed’s neck, right under his jaw. Ed didn’t mind it, he loved nothing more than a good cuddle with Stede, but it didn’t quite match Stede’s usual cuddling style (which seemed to be mostly centered around using Ed as a weighted blanket).
Then, one night, Ed realized that the strange angle Stede slept at, with his head pillowed on Ed’s chest, put his ear right directly over Ed’s heart, and he got it.
Ed didn’t want to scare him, but in the interest of checking his theory, he took in a breath and held it.
Stede had seemed like he was almost asleep, so it took him a moment to notice, but the second he realized Ed’s chest wasn’t moving, he darted upright, frantically shaking Ed’s shoulders.
“Ed? Ed, are you-” Stede sighed, loud and relieved, when Ed sat up, grabbing for his hands. “Thank God, Ed!”
“Were you making sure I was still breathing?”
Stede’s eyes widened, and his mouth opened and shut a couple times.
“Do you think I’m just about to drop dead, man?” Before Stede could start getting cagey, Ed took his hands, pressing Stede’s palm over Ed’s heart. “I’m okay, Stede, but please, man, just talk to me.”
Stede let out a little frustrated sigh. “You’ll think I’m just being stupid-”
“Will not,” Ed promised. “Never.”
“Do you remember that time you died?” Stede pressed his mouth into a line, a sure-fire sign he was trying very hard not to cry. “You were gone. I thought I lost you. And I get so scared, thinking that I might just wake up and you’ll be gone.”
A few tears spilled over, and Stede scrubbed a frustrated hand across his cheeks.
“I just get so worried I can’t stand it,” Stede went on. “I can’t lose you, not right after I just found you, not now that we’re together.”
“Aw, babe, c’mere.” Ed held out his arms in invitation, and Stede threw himself into them, letting Ed pull him close to his chest. “I’m not going anywhere, I promise. You’ve got me for good. No getting rid of me. Already threw away the receipt.”
Stede huffed out a little watery laugh, and Ed kissed his forehead.
“What can I do to help?” Ed asked gently. “Aside from letting you shake me awake every two minutes, that was not fuckin’ sustainable.”
“I am sorry about that,” Stede said. “Maybe just…is it okay if I always touch you while we sleep? Just so I can know you’re alright?”
“Of course,” Ed promised. “You can touch me all you like.”
That got him a fond eye roll, and Ed laughed, leaning in for a sweet kiss.
They fell asleep that night with their fingers laced together and resting on Ed’s chest, right over his heart.
And, yeah, Ed didn’t blame Stede for being jumpy. But he hoped they could both look forward to waking up like this together, for the rest of their forever.

Christmas is Better Spent Together
Chapter Two: 1665
Read on AO3

Rating: General Audiences
Categories: Gen, M/M
Fandom: Good Omens
Relationships: Aziraphale & Crowley, Aziraphale/Crowley
Characters: Aziraphale, Crowley
Words: 798
7 times Aziraphale and Crowley spent Christmas together (and 1 time they didn't)
London, England - 1665
The door to Aziraphale’s lodgings opened and closed quickly, letting in a small flurry of snowflakes. Aziraphale didn’t move from his desk. It was some time before a voice spoke somewhere over his shoulder. “You can’t keep doing this.”
“I assure you, my dear, that I very well can,” Aziraphale answered.
“No, you really can’t.” It countered.
“I am an Angel of the Lord, it is my duty to comfort the afflicted and–”
“Where are these other so-called Angels then, hmm? Not here.” The voice leaned back and Aziraphale heard footsteps retreat to the fireplace. “It’s your duty to watch over the humans, not sew button eyes back onto a little girl’s doll.”
Aziraphale finally turned away from his project with an indignant huff and gave the voice a face, not that he needed the confirmation. Crowley rid himself of his snow-sodden coat and hung it by the fire, shaking his loose hair free from any remaining snowflakes, and pulled a chair up a reasonable distance from Aziraphale’s. “How’d you know what room I was in?”
Crowley shrugged, “Asked the Innkeeper.”
“The door was locked.”
“…Oh.”
Aziraphale sighed and wiped a hand over his face, feeling every bit of his unquantifiable age, “Why are you here, Crowley? I’m afraid I’m not very good company right now.”
“You’re late,” Crowley said simply. “We were supposed to meet at our rendezvous by the Thames at 3. It’s nearly 5 now.”
That at least got a reaction out of the Angel. “Oh my! I’m so terribly sorry! Time must’ve gotten away from me.”
Crowley waved away his words, “Nah, s’alright. Just thought I’d check in on you, wanted to make sure you hadn’t gotten the sickness. I mean, I know we can’t get sick, not like humans, but… I dunno.” Silence fell for a few short moments. “How’re you taking it? I see you’ve been out among them.”
Aziraphale wrung his hands together, “I may not be able to Miracle people back to health, but I can ease their suffering, or make their passing painless.”
Crowley nodded in understanding, remembering the trail of cream-coloured blankets that had led him to the Angel in the first place. “What’s with the doll, then? You can just snap your fingers and fix it if that’s what you’re aiming to do.”
“I needed something to do with my hands,” Aziraphale explained and gently picked up the doll, running his fingers through the frayed yellow yarn of the doll’s hair. “I found this near one of the dead body piles. Thought I’d neaten it up a bit. Give it a proper burial, seeing as how its owner likely won’t.”
Crowley extended a hand, which Aziraphale placed the doll in. He brushed his thumb over the torn embroidery of a name on the doll’s leg. Hope. He handed the doll back to the Angel and sniffed. “Good craftsmanship.”
“Thank you,” Aziraphale said and smiled softly, setting the doll back on the desk. He hesitated before turning back to the Demon, “I hate to have to ask, but… is all this your–”
“No.”
“Oh, okay. Good.” Aziraphale shifted in his seat uncomfortably. “I’m glad. What about you? How are you feeling about all of this?”
Crowley raised a brow and heaved a sigh, “The 14th century is still definitely the worst, but this one is climbing on up there. At least now that it’s winter, the sickness is starting to slow down.”
“Hopefully this will all settle down in the spring,” Aziraphale said.
Crowley’s gaze drifted over to the doll, “Yeah. Hopefully.” He could see tears start to well in the other’s eyes. He pushed himself up and stood. “We could go somewhere.”
Aziraphale lifted tearful eyes and blinked up at him. “What?”
“It’s Christmas. Let’s go do something.” Crowley shrugged with forced nonchalance. “Go spread some holiday joy or whatever in these trying times.”
“I don’t think your side would like you doing that.”
“My side’s too busy sorting through an extra several thousand souls a day to be watching me. Besides, I could spin it my way if they ask.” He put on a comedically gruff expression with his hands on his hips. “‘Why are you giving sweets to children’ Hastur would ask. I’d say ‘I’m ruining their health and making them more susceptible to illness.’ And then he’d say ‘What about your adversary?’ And I’d go ‘I tempted the Angel to eat some of the sweets, too.’”
Aziraphale chuckled at Crowley’s antics, to which the other smirked pridefully. “What do you suggest we do then?” Aziraphale asked.
Crowley shrugged his coat back on, “doesn’t matter to me. Wherever you wanna go, angel. Whatever you wanna do. I’m in.”
Aziraphale’s eyes shone with mirth, “let’s go sing Christmas carols!”
“And you’ve lost me.”

Boyfriend of the month (Rúben Dias x Reader)
**Fluffy boyfriend goals request that made me melt while I was writing it. Hope you enjoy it ❤️**
Word count: 1616
Masterlist
Wattpad
Hearing the alarm going off in the morning at 6.30 is painful enough. But the day has another surprise for me. When I try to sit up in bed, I can feel the pain stabbing my lower stomach. But it doesn’t make sense…my period is not due for another 3 days.
I get up to go to the toilet and can see the confirmation that my period decided to visit me a little early. How nice. I guess it missed me but I can’t reciprocate the feeling.
Fighting the pain, I go to the kitchen to try and eat some food just so I can take some tablets for the pain. There is no way I can go to work if I don’t get some relief for this debilitating pain.
My periods didn’t use to be this bad but a year ago something changed in my body and now I always fear this monthly day of pain.
Rúben: see you tonight! Do you want me to pick you up from work? Xx
Right, I forgot about my date with my boyfriend. And…as much as I would like to have him with me, hugging me with those strong arms, he can’t see me today. We’ve only been dating for two months and I don’t want him to see me like this. Also, my ex was an asshole that instead of supporting me when the periods got worse, just told me not to talk to him about it because it was “gross”.
I hate to be like this but I fear Rúben might do something similar. And I can’t deal with that heartbreak while my hormones are making my moods so weird.
Me: sorry, I can’t meet today. A lot of work. We can meet tomorrow? Xx
I hate lies so much. But this one is necessary. For now at least.
Rúben: I can bring some dinner to you then. I don’t mind waiting until you’re done.
Not the time to be dreamy and perfect, Dias.
Me: I have to stay in the office.
Me: looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
And that’s another lie. My boss knows about my terrible periods and she always allows me to work from home so I don’t have to take the bus in this state. So no office for me today either. Just the sofa, a hot water bottle and my laptop. Let’s hope today is not that bad.
**
At exactly 5 pm, I close my laptop and put it on my coffee table. I take a deep breath, which causes the cramps to feel even worse and just lie down on the sofa, closing my eyes and willing the pain to go away.
After a couple of minutes, I get up to grab some water and another tablet but the doorbell interrupts my little trip. Who could it be? A delivery?
“Rúben?”
“Do you want to explain to me why you lied?”
I take another deep breath and now that I’m standing, it causes me to bend down from the horrible pain.
“Hey, what’s going on? Are you ok?”
He kneels down in front of me, trying to see my face for clues of what could be happening but I keep trying to hide.
“Just go. Why are you here? I told you I couldn’t see you”.
But he doesn’t listen. He just picks me up and closes the door before taking me to the sofa so I can lie down there again.
“Hot water bottle, medicine, all your work stuff right here…you could have just told me you were sick. Are you afraid it’s contagious?”
“You definitely can’t catch this”, I say, my voice weak from how much pain I’m in.
“What is it then…”, but then he sees me holding my stomach and gets it. “Yeah, not something I’ll catch”.
His laugh confuses me. Is he making fun of me now? Or is it just me being paranoid because of how my ex acted?
“Yeah, well, now that you know you can leave”.
“I’m not leaving you while you can barely move because of the pain you’re in. What do you need?”
“Water for my medicine”, I don’t even get to finish the sentence before he gets up to go to the kitchen.
I try to sit up before he comes back so I can take the tablet and when he sees me, he runs towards the sofa again.
“Don’t move. I’ll help you”.
“It’s fine, thank you”.
Tablet is taken, now time to wait.
“You can leave. I’ll be fine in a bit”.
“Can you get through that thick skull of yours that I’m not leaving?”
“But it’s just…girl stuff”.
His confused face is quite adorable.
“Doesn’t this gross you out?”
“Why would it?”
“Because I have my period”.
He’s still confused but chuckles slightly.
“I mean, I don’t want you to be in pain but given we’ve only been together for two months, I’m quite happy to know your period keeps visiting you”.
His words make me laugh, which causes more pain from the cramps and the laugh turns into a groan.
“Sorry”, he says, putting my head on his lap. “I’ll stop being so hilarious until you’re no longer in pain”.
I close my eyes when he starts to play with my hair and just let that soothe me while the tablet keeps working its magic and getting rid of the annoying cramps.
“Is there something you want to eat?”
“My stomach doesn’t feel great but I could eat some soup. I’ll make some in a bit”.
“No, you won’t”, he says, moving a bit to get his phone out of the pocket of his jeans. “I’ll order you some from that place you like”.
When I no longer feel pain, I start to get up, causing Rúben to freak out.
“I’m fine”, I laugh, “and I need the toilet. I’ll be right back”.
By the time I’m back in the living room, Rúben has removed all the rubbish I’ve accumulated during the day from the table.
“We can have dinner here”.
“You really don’t have to stay, Rúben”.
“You know? I’m a little hurt”.
Not what I expected him to say right now.
“Why?”
“Remember the week after we met?”
The little smirk on my face tells him I clearly do.
“I had a little injury and you refused to leave my side. Then a couple of weeks ago, I hurt my finger again”.
“Because you aren’t careful lifting those weights that are heavier than me”.
“Whatever. I hurt my finger and you refused to leave my side. And believe me, a little blister wasn’t that big of an issue. It definitely didn’t leave me unable to move from how much pain I was in”.
“I get it”.
“Do you? Why do you get to look after me but I don’t get to do the same?”
Because I’m an idiot.
“Because I was worried you would be a typical man, being weird around me just because I’m bleeding. I didn’t want you to disappoint me, I guess”.
“Well, I’m not…anymore. We grow and we learn”.
I laugh because I get it.
“I’m sorry. Can you look after me now?”
“Not sure you deserve it”.
But I can tell he’s joking because of the tone he’s using.
“Pleaaaase, can you look after your girlfriend that is in so much pain and needs a lot of hugs and kisses?”
“I guess I’ll have to. How am I going to win boyfriend of the month if I don’t?”
“You might even win boyfriend of the year”.
“I’m not winning player of the season with Erling on the team so I need any other award I can get”.
While I’m getting changed in my room, I hear the doorbell again and by the time I go back to the sofa, Rúben has already placed all of our food on the table.
“I’m actually starving”.
“I got you the bread you like too. Soup isn’t enough food”.
“Thank you”, I say, sitting down next to him and hugging his side. I could stay like this all day.
After eating my soup, the bread and some dumplings I stole from Rúben’s plate, I feel ready to nap for 20 hours. More or less.
“Do you want to go to bed?”, asks Rúben and I nod. “Ok, get ready while I tidy up here”.
“Don’t take too long. I need cuddles”.
It’s not even 7.30 but I’m definitely ready for this day to be over. So I get into my warm bed and get comfortable while I wait for Rúben to be back.
It doesn’t take him long and when he gets in bed with me, I immediately feel his arms bringing me closer to him.
“Where does it hurt?”, he says, his breath tickling the back of my neck.
“It doesn’t hurt anymore, really”:
“Where did it hurt?”
So I take his hands to the area where the cramps were stabbing me today. It still feels a little tender from being in pain for so long. But when he starts to draw little circles with his long fingers, I melt.
“That feels nice”.
“Imagine how nice it would have felt when you were in all that pain”.
“There is always next month”.
“Do you really feel this bad every month?”
I turn my head slightly to look at him and his worried face warms my heart.
“Sadly, yes”.
“God, I’m glad it isn’t contagious, then”.
And this time I can properly laugh at his joke without any cramps attacking me, and while I enjoy my boyfriend holding me tight to make me feel safe in this vulnerable moment.

-Alice 💥💥
hi lovely, it is finally done 💗 this is for alice specifically, but all my fred girlies can enjoy it
summary: alice sacrificed herself to save sirius in the end of the order of the phoenix and is put in a medically induced coma. here is fred’s reaction and inner thoughts during that time she’s in a coma. word count: 1760 words
warnings: this is angsty so mentions of violence, death, medically induced coma, hospitalization, and yeah read w caution i suppose
if u enjoy this please check my pinned post for sending requests!! i can also do deadpool and wolverine and acotar requests
“Where is she?”
Fred’s voice is frantic as he shouts for the closest nurse at St. Mungo’s Hospital. As soon as he heard the news of Alice’s injury and her current condition from Ron, he apparated right away, not wasting any time with Floo powder or anything. He didn’t know exactly what had happened to Alice; he just knew that she had been injured in the battle and that he had to hurry. So, he apparated to the hospital in a rush, leaving Lee and George, who were with him at the time, without another word.
“I’m sorry sir, I don’t know who you’re trying to find?” A nurse tells him, with knitted eyebrows of concern. Fred shakes his head, unable to form the correct words, unable to say Alice’s name like it might be what causes her to die.
A hand rests on Fred’s shoulder. “Alice. Alice Newt. She was brought in here less than an hour ago, she’s injured. Badly.” George’s calm tone as he explains grounds Fred a little bit. It doesn’t save Alice, but it makes Fred feel a little less like he will die. “We’re family.” A little white lie on George’s part, but close enough. They’re her found family after all.
Fred’s eyes wander as the nurse talks to George. His eyes land on a bleary-eyed Capella pacing in the waiting room. “Oh good,” she says, running to Fred once she sees him. “I was trying to figure out how to get in touch with you. She kept asking for you, kept begging me to get you. She was so scared,” Her eyes mist over, biting the inside of her cheek. “Our stupid, stubborn, brave girl.”
“What… what happened?” Fred asks her, afraid to know. Afraid to know what he feels deep down. That something terrible has happened to Alice. It’s like he could feel this tear in his chest like a piece of him is missing. He knows whatever it is, it is bad. But he also knows she’s alive, he can feel that too. Capella purses her lips together, at a loss for words to explain what is happening. She grips his hand, squeezing it.
“She was hit with the killing curse,” Capella explains, the breath catching in Fred’s throat as he listens to her. Hot tears well in his eyes, his anxiety rising. “In the arm. They had to remove it, but she will be okay.” She continues, and a little bit of the tightening grip on Fred’s heart loosens.
He smiles, sighing in relief. “Oh thank Merlin,” He finally lets himself breathe properly. “So can I see her?” He asks, wanting to wrap his arms around her beautiful frame and kiss her all over. He wants to hold her forever, the concept of losing her out of his mind forever. He looks back at Capella and realizes she’s still distraught. He realizes that she wouldn’t have been upset when he first saw her if Alice was okay. Fuck. “She isn’t okay, is she?”
She shakes her head, face grim. “The doctors had to put her in a medically induced coma so her arm can heal. She won’t wake up for a while,” There’s a slight hesitation in her voice, a sob wracking her body. “There’s a chance she won’t wake up ever.” She tells him and suddenly it’s like the world has ended. He can see it, him holding Alice’s hand as she dies, never telling her all the things he hasn’t told her and delivering her euology and watching her body go into the ground. Suddenly it’s like she’s already dead, even though he knows she’s still alive.
“Please take me to her, I need to see her. Hold her hand.” The words feel foreign on his tongue, like he isn’t the one saying them. He doesn’t remember opening his mouth to talk. Capella doesn’t say anything to him, just leads him, and Lee and George trail behind them. George puts his hand on Fred’s shoulder from behind.
The room they’re keeping Alice in is stifling, feels like the air has been sucked out of it. Capella led him to the door but stopped outside of it. “I can’t go in and look at her, I’ll let you three be alone with her. I have some work to do, but I’ll see you out when you’re done.” Done, like he’ll be able to just leave her. Leave her to wake up at any moment without anyone. Yeah, that won’t be happening. It’s clear to him that he can’t leave her once he sees the state of the room she’s in.
It’s completely empty, save for her cot and a tiny night stand. No record player for all the muggle records he buys her, none of her posters or pictures, no dresser for her to put the sweaters she steals from him, no bookshelves for her books, no armchairs for George and Lee to sit on to talk her ear off, nothing. It is so quiet. That’s when his eyes fall on her in the bed, looking so small in the big bed. He approaches her, tears spilling from his eyes.
“Alice…” His voice comes out pleading, like if he says her name, she will wake up and smile her beautiful smile again and she’ll say his name the way she always does, like her pretty lips were made to say his name. Will he ever hear her voice again? He sits at her feet, her hair splayed around her head on the pillow like a halo. Her entire are is gone. She looks so sick. She has always been beautiful, but now she looks wrong. She looks so fragile. He’s never seen his strong, beautiful girl looking so weak.
She doesn’t move at all at his voice. It was foolish of him to think she might. He’s sobbing now, any fear of looking weak gone at the realization that she really and truly might not make it. He sits there, he’s not sure for how long, thinking of the life they lived together. He remembers how she was before, when he had last seen her. He’d kissed her, told her he’d see her later, knowing she might not make it.
He should’ve said more.
He should’ve told her to stay, that they would be fine without her. But that wasn’t true, they needed her and she never would’ve just sat by and done nothing. He should’ve gone with her. He could’ve protected her. “It isn’t your fault that this happened.” George tells him, as if he read his thoughts.
Fred doesn’t look at George, can’t pull his eyes away from Alice’s body. He holds her hand in his. “It is. I could’ve prevented this,” He whispers, voice hoarse from sobbing. “She doesn’t look like herself.”
George chuckles, half-heartedly. “Right? I don’t think I’ve ever seen her without her little grumpy pout. I don’t think she’s ever been this quiet, even when she’s sleepy, she’s still talking.” He says, in an attempt to lighten the mood. Fred hates it. Fred wants him to shut up. Alice should be awake, telling George off. Kissing Fred. Telling him all about the battle. But she’s not.
And there’s a chance she won’t ever be again.
~~~~
Fred spends the whole summer there. They move a chair into Alice’s room and he brings other stuff too. Her record player, for one, and about a dozen records. He brings her a change of clothes every day he comes in, usually one of his sweaters. He reads to her, books he thinks she would like and books he knows are her favorites. He talks to her.
The nurses know him by name, giving him updates or talking to him about the latest Quidditch matches. They don’t talk about the war. Fred tries not to think about the war and it isn’t hard as the only thing he can think about is if Alice will be okay. Some days, Lee and George come with him. Other days, her friends are there too or Ron and Harry and Hermione. But, there isn’t a day that Fred isn’t there. He wants to be there when she wakes up.
Today feels different as soon as he walks into the hospital. The front desk nurses smile and address him by name. He walks the familiar route to Alice’s hospital room, a book tucked to his chest. When he walks in, his heart plummets. There’s a cluster of doctors around Alice’s hospital bed. “…what’s going on?” He asks cautiously.
“Oh, good!! Fred!” Capella smiles when she sees him, the closest one to Alice and the door. “I was wondering when you would be here.” She hands him a coffee, kissing his cheek as a greeting. “It is good to see you, angel.”
“What’s going on right now?” He repeats, squeezing her in a hug gently.
“Oh, I’m sorry. It’s good!! Alice, she’s ready for them to start taking her off the medicine that’s keeping her in the coma. They’re doing it right now!” She is hopeful. Fred knew today was going to be different. He sighs in relief.
So, over the next few days, Alice is under heavy monitoring, people watching to make sure she isn’t going to slip into a nonmedical coma. Fred sits in the corner as they watch over her. Eventually, she starts to blink away, still not fully there but able to open her eyes and blink.
It’s two weeks later when she wakes up fully. “Where… am I?” She asks Fred, who’s the only one in the room. He gasps, throwing his arms around her gently, a muttered “baby, you’re alive” whispered into her hair. He kisses her head. She shoves him away. “What the fuck are you doing?” She pulls out her IV drip in a hurry, shoving him to the floor and standing over him, wearing nothing but his huge sweater and her hospital gown.
“Alice…” Fred whispers, cautiously. She stands over him, ready to throw punches. He stands up. “I’m sorry baby, it’s me. It’s Fred, baby. You’re safe. Please, lay back down.” He tells her, taking a step forward. Her fight is gone and he helps her back into bed.
She sighs into his side. “I’m sorry.” She mumbles, kissing him.
“You scared the shit out of me, love.” He kisses her back. “Never do that again. But you’re okay and I’m okay. I love you more than anything. Now, tell me why you thought that being a fucking hero was a good idea.”
Oddworld zombie apocalypse au
the rain pattered on the window of the safe house. it was a long night last night to say the least…zombies…the infection caused from the brew…everything that’s happened…it was all exhausting…Alf rubbed the back of his head as he slowly woke up before sitting up in the bed in his room,if he could even call it that…he sat there for a few moments before standing,stretching and making his way to the kitchen to make tea after putting his hat on “looks like somebody slept well” Claire said sarcastically as she sipped some coffee,the bitter taste evident on her face “yeah,yeah” Alf says as he stretched and flexed his arms “show off” Claire said with a smirk as she watches the gloomy,abandoned atmosphere grow more dreary with muds running around either infected or running from the infected “how could things get from bad to worse so fast?” Alf himself didn’t even know as he gets out a box of tea bags he found in the cupboard “how’s Abe,by the way? I bet he was scared out of his mind…poor kid” Alf knew that she babied Abe too much sometimes and he wasn’t sure why she did this “he’s not a baby anymore,Claire” Alf grumbled tiredly as he waited for the water to boil for the tea “I know…but it feels like he is” she took a sip of her coffee “I don’t know how you can drink that stuff…” he turned to face Claire,catching himself glancing his eyes around her body before she turned to face him “those people…they seemed…to be afraid that they would turn…before turning,obviously and they just looked at us for guidance and help…it feels so terrible we couldn’t save them because I would have saved them if I was able to…but Abe can craft a cure,can’t he?” Alf nodded,knowing that it could be only in little doses and not for the whole continent of mudos where the slaves were and probably getting infected too “those bites were pretty deep…and gorey…they looked so terrible when they finally turned with all those nasty veins…and they turned so pale,too” Alf shuddered at the memory as he glanced out the window at the rainy weather that was complimenting the situation they were in “I hope Abe wakes up soon” Claire looked at Alf’s arm for a second as he leaned against the counter…it was a deep bite…and she didn’t have a syringe with the cure handy like she did in her bag “I’m gonna make it,Claire…I know I’ll pull through-“ “Alfred?” he bent down on the ground and gripped his stomach as the infection started to set in “Alfred…oh no” she was worried now… “I can’t let you turn…but…I don’t have a cure” she hears footsteps behind her and saw Abe who was clutching a blanket,looking scared for Alf “he’s fine,Abe…he just had a bad dream…and it scared him” “he’s not a boy anymore,Claire!” Alf shouted at her though gritted teeth as he clutched the fabric of overalls “Alf…” he stood up and shook at the water boiled and he put the tea bag in “that’ll help your symptoms at least” she says as she stared out the window again…she almost thought it was a normal day in mudos again…she then thought of April…that poor girl…she was Alf’s girl and she was only 12… “thank odd April wasn’t infected” Alf nodded…his hands quivered as he stirred the tea “want me to help?” Claire asked as Alf’s hands shook “nah…I got this,Claire” he muttered with a shaky voice that sounded even more depressing to Claire since his lisp
“Alright…” she went to wake up Toby or at least make sure he was awake…Alf turned to look at her and blushed watching the way her body moved when she walked to Toby’s room “may odd help us” he whispered
