You know, I gotta say, the fact that GOT7 has yet to do a 7 Deadly Sins inspired comeback feels like a crime
#got7#mark#jay b#jackson#jinyoung#youngjae#bambam#yugyeom#ot7#seven deadly sins#a crime truly#seven members and seven sins#i can just picture the music video#imagine each member made to represent a different sin with makeup and costumes and sets to match#picking who would be which sin is the difficult part#these are my personal choices#mark = sloth; jay b = wrath; jackson = lust; jinyoung = pride; youngjae = greed; bambam = gluttony; yugyeom = envy#my choices are based on what i think each member would look best representing looks and acting wise#they are in no way a reflection of the members’ actual characters and personalities#i do think some of them could be interchangeable which is what makes it hard to choose which sin for which member#but can’t you just picture it!!! how epic that would be!!!#and the title song could be called Sinful or Deadly or something along those lines#i’m just imaging something like the If You Do MV where each member acted out how they would handle a breakup#and the dancing/performance parts would be very chic and sexy monotoned in color#they could TOTALLY pull it off and it would so fit the kind of concepts they like to do

In honour of season 3 of Traitors airing I would like to give my completely unnecessary takes on the vibes Claudia gives off in every season.
Season 1 - Reclusive celebrity who’s secretly sadistic behind the scenes. The ‘death game’ is something she’s set up like a murder mystery for her own amusement. Closest to a real murder mystery novel. Nobody knows quite what they’re getting into but they do know Claudia. Seems genuinely happy for the winners.
Season 2 - Malevolent evil god. The way Claudia managed to sell the empty embrace of evil after Harry won and had to sit with everything he’d done, alone with the money, was insane. A lot more darker fate and death imagery in that season too.
Season 3 - Now here’s where I’m conflicted, because on one hand I want to say evil pantomime narrator (constant talking to camera, the fairground, etc.) but on the other I want to say cult leader because that’s clearly what they seem to be going for. The last mission really evoked Midsommar. We’ll have to see how it pans out.

i would like to say my ideal PJO adaptation (if i was being physically forced against my will to have to pick a live action adaptation over an animated one for some reason) would be a combo like writing of the musical + casting of the show + visuals of the movies
BUT the show actually does have the playwright for the musical as one of the major writers for like three episodes and that did nothing for it. so...
#pjo#riordanverse#pjo tv crit#i do love the casting for the musical lots and lots though#it was really good#i do also have some nitpicks for show casting but they're largely inconsequential#like majority i very much enjoy and think are cast well#i only have one i'd say im actually disappointed with and that's Poseidon. idk he just feels. bland??? does that make sense?#like idk maybe it's the costuming but im not getting Sea God *or* Fishing Dad from him#like i think i kinda see what they were going for and i saw some gifs of him in another show where he plays a pirate and its like#okay. *little* bit better. but idk im just not getting Poseidon from it#in general most of the immortals in the show dont feel very Immortal(tm) but thats definitely mostly just the writing/show itself#not any reflection of the casting#my only other two are i would have liked plus sized Clarisse. i am VERY sad we didnt get that#Dior is a VERY good Clarisse though so i'm not too upset about it. i like her Clarisse energy. the yelling is fantastic.#my most controversial pjo tv take is im still meh on Walker. like he's fine. but like he's kind of Just Fine to me so far#its probably mostly the writing being bad but he hasnt grown on me as Percy yet. i can tell he has the energy though in interviews n stuff#and the main trio dynamic in interviews and stuff is *very* good. i just wish the show writing was better#because the casting IS very good but they have so little to work with. you can really tell theyre trying their best#i like to joke the show would be better if they just set the cast loose in the woods doing in-character improv#like its clear basically all of them know their characters SUPER well. id watch 8 episodes of in the woods pjo cosplay improv.

Saw Sinners this afternoon and. yea. the movie is absolutely as good as everyone says.
#like geniuenly FANTASTIC vampire film ough#fully touch on the psychological aspects of vampires that i feel is often missed but in a really creative way#wont go into spoilers here but ough#a lot of themes and exploration in it that im gonna be sitting and digesting for a bit#the music was absolutely incredible#and yknow me i was looking at the costume choices lmao. they were awesome#the set design was top tier like you could really tell just how much thought was put into this whole thing#absolutely a film I gotta do the credit of going back and watching with subtitles at a later date#[i love the view of seeing in a big screen theater but a real shame i just cant get dialogue in films]#there was def a couple points where the gore was a bit on my oof side but that's my own problem and i went in fully aware XD#the prophet speaks#also was absolutely wild hearing a song i grew up hearing being sung by vampires in the movie akdlflgkhkhj

Finally saw Wicked today. I fear it is, in fact, actually all that and a bag of chips. Like it is genuinely that good
#ramblings of a lunatic#storywise i actually found that they were stretching act 1 a bit thin and it showed in the pacing#but in terms of execution of the musical numbers and aesthetic quality of the sets/costumes/etc???#ohhh bitch. I'm sorry im so fucking seduced by john chu's vision of oz#i am also on team 'this bitch should be more technicolour' but I'm also not a lighting/cinematography guy#like i like Pictures and Images but I'm shit at lighting + composing film shots so yknow. stones and glass houses and everything#anywayyy i love the wizard of oz im a little obsessed w the wziard of oz and all related properties maybe. maybe#god idk if I'd actually enjoy it but i would be really curious to read the book version of wicked. i know it's incredibly different#not just in terms of focus and content but also in terms of being very dense and reportedly a lot drier#but also i do want to see his vision very badly. like when he made oz a surveillance state?? that's smart! it's plainly in the og series!#it's just treated as normal there#but anyway yeah back to the musical i am NOT ashamed to admit i got full body chills during defying gravity#there were parts that were so. sincere and self serious and melodramatic that i couldn't help but love#like YES enough!! with the self referential ironic humour crammed into everything!!!#linger on a moment for far too long and make me sit uncomfortably in the saccharine melodrama!!! it's good for me!!!#the people want big budget fantasy musicals gang...they want razzle and dazzle and heartfelt song!!#and i agree with the ppl. i AM the ppl#wicked movie. good. i enjoy#might just be riding the high of watching it but like idc I'm allowed

AND sometimes if there was one line in the middle of a song#it would randomly be in french or german or maybe russian once?#also all the signs & text was in spanish#so it was an extra level of fun to experience that specific version and be like What the hell is happening#i had to look up if les mis (2012) added a shitty extra song (they did) bc it was SO forgettable that i just. immediately forgot it#eta: sweeney todd (2007) didn't add one.#or tick tick boom#i have painted with too broad a brush!#also lmao @ the wikipedia page for sweeney todd (2007) desperately citing a dozen listicles in order to claim that it's one of the best -#- movie musicals of the 21st century
