Note
For pure angst and evil purposes, how easy would it be to make ROs cry?
Alright, here's them rated hardest to make cry to easiest-- and keep note, this is specifically in the context of someone trying to hurt their feelings (and them knowing). Because the order would change in so many ways for so many different things (who cries most under stress, who cries most if someone they care for is hurt, etc, etc)
Hardest to easiest: Sabir, Jost, Nikke + Syfyn, Amilia, Vethna
Freedom (is their own thing)
Sabir: Sabir, in general, is a vulnerable person. He likes being honest when he's not in "politician mode", likes sharing his feelings, feels comfort in openly showing his emotions which includes crying. But if for whatever reason someone starts really trying to hurt his feelings, that man can just... shut them off. I mean really turn off his emotions. It's honestly unsettling, and probably very disturbing. You won't be able to make him cry. Like... you just won't.
That being said, there are some people I don't think Sabir could ever muster the strength to do that to. It's not that he's not capable of it, it's that he'd rather be open and allow himself to be hurt by the person he loves than ever shut them out. (Looks at evil MCs nervously...)
Jost: Jost is pretty similar to Sabir, except she's always on the emotional defensive. She doesn't let people in ever, and because of that, it's hard to get a sad reaction from her. That being said, Jost is like... hilariously easy to piss off but that can go from being funny to being really upsetting to witness real quick. Because of that, I think it's possible, if you keep pressing hard enough, to make Jost cry from anger and rage. But you'd have to keep her cornered, cause she'd try to make a run for it before that could happen.
Nikke + Syfyn: They're tied! They both have pretty strong brave faces, but at their core, they're both such loyal and dedicated people that their strong face would crack, inevitably. Seeing someone they care for lash out at them, use their weaknesses against them, would be enough to make them start breaking down. But it wouldn't be soft crying. It'd be angry, defensive, confused. And they'd both probably storm off at the end and retreat into themselves. The only difference is Syfyn is terrible at holding a grudge and keeping a cold shoulder (MC snapping is a *cough* exception), and Nikke is a little too good at it.
Amilia: Amilia, honestly, is probably equal to Nikke + Syfyn in terms of how much you'd have to throw at her to make her actually start crying, but she's a lot more vulnerable. She won't hide the fact she's becoming upset, she'll beg for the other person to just stop, and when they don't... she'd just start crying. Not ugly crying, not breaking down, but she'd make no attempt to hide her tears as she sniffles. I think Amilia is comfortable in that sadness in a way the others aren't, and she has no problem being blunt in that sadness-- asking the other person if they're happy they made her hurt (and genuinely asking, not just saying it to spite them). It's hard to explain... maybe I'll get the chance to write it... in game... (*looks at camera dramatically*)
Vethna: Don't. Please don't. If someone close to Vethna, at this point, just straight up turned on them and started throwing shit at their face in a fight to purposely hurt them and was just outwardly downright malicious, Vethna wouldn't even put up a fight. They'd probably try to look indignant, nonchalant, and unfazed, throwing a witty, sharp retort your way... but that would probably last a total of ten seconds before they just start crying. I get this image in my head of Vethna almost seeming child-like when they cry-- pouted lips, huffing breaths, avoiding the other person's gaze. I think Vethna has too many "sore spots" in their self-worth and confidence to be able to handle something like that with any sort of grace. But the worst part is I think that leaves them very susceptible to manipulation. Vethna craves approval from the people around them, so it would be easy to use their vulnerability against them.
Freedom: Okay, Freedom is just hovering all around because emotions are so wonderfully bizarre and strange to/for them. I don't think you could make Freedom cry if you were just like... "I'm gonna be a dick because I'm annoyed or angry" and started insulting them. They'd just look at you with a raised brow and vaguely amused expression. But if someone was close to them, and genuinely upset by something Freedom did, and that person was hurt and fighting back tears and lashing out as a response... then I believe that would make Freedom cry. MC + Freedom are very innately connected, and I think feeling the weight of those emotions on them if they're close would be enough to make Freedom start crying... and then become incredibly confused by it. They're definitely a pretty crier though-- like, their face is all stone-still and then their tears run down all dramatically...

All Farms…
Javier Peña
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Javier has to decide what to do with the ranch
Warnings/Tags: grief, loss, hurt (no comfort?), ranch/farm used interchangeably here.
Notes: I started this on Christmas after walking my grandparents farm which happens to be the same farm I lived on for the first 7 years of my life. My grandparents are getting older which has sparked a lot of conversation with what will happen to the farm when they're gone. Fast forward to now, I'm currently processing a lot of feelings this Easter weekend. I lost my step dad last year. He was a farmer too. After his cancer diagnosis, all of us kids (there are ALOT of us) came home for Easter. It was the last time I saw him look like himself and the last time we were all together before he died. In my processing, I started working on this piece again. It's one of those things I need to put out into the world for me. I hope for anyone else going through something similar, it brings you comfort or makes you feel not quite so alone.
Peep the cow picture. I took that one myself at Christmas :)

All farms have a graveyard. One of lost memories and stories. Typically along a ridge or tree line, piled-up equipment that was never sold or broken beyond repair sits in overgrown piles and sunken earth. The old family car. The beat-up sports car or pickup truck each son or sometimes daughter inevitably thought they could fix only to spend hundreds of fruitless hours with one glory ride before it went haywire. Scrap metal torn from barn roofs pile up. Every tire imaginable is half buried in the earth. No farmer dares to clean out the graveyard. The moment you do, you’ll find use or need for the items thrown out.
The Peńa’s graveyard sits between scattered trees at the bottom of the hill. Javier rarely makes his way to that side of the farm. They don’t use that space for cattle since his dad downsized the herd. He pretends there’s no reason for it, but it’s more than just broken down cars and scrap piles to Javier. It’s a ghost town of memories.
There’s his mom’s ‘62 Ford. The one she drove his whole childhood. The vehicle that took them across town, to Sunday services, and hosted their many road trips. Its where his Mom feels most tangible, her soft voice playing in his head singing to the radio.
His first truck. The one he’d spent months fixing up, he kissed Sally Jones on a Saturday night and done much more with Vanessa Reyes. He’s proposed to Lorraine in that truck, driven past the church in it too.
Chucho’s first American Harvester sits further back. His dad is so proud of that machine… or he was.
The ache grows in Javier’s chest as he stands at the edge of the graveyard. He begged Chucho for years to clean this up. His dad always waved him off, stating that he would get to it someday. Except, Chucho didn’t make it to someday, and now it is Javier’s responsibility.
His fingers twitch, desperate for the feel of a cigarette between them. Nicorette gum sits in his breast pocket instead. He’s working to quit again, picking the worst damn time to do it, but that’s life.
He should probably bring the tractor down to pull everything out. It’s overwhelming with no good place to start. Digging around down there will only dig up the memories. Javier can’t deal with the memories right now, so he leaves the project for another day. He only needs to clean it up if he decides to sell the ranch.
The house is quiet when he walks through the door. Javier is used to the subtle sounds of life- the coffee pot going, the tv running on low, Chucho’s boots on the linoleum, but it never comes. It won’t ever come again.
Javier kicks off his boots, lining them right next to his dad’s. He hasn’t moved them. He’s not sure he will.
He heads for the back of the house toward his room but stops at his Dad’s door. It’s shut tight as he places a hand on the wood. Javier hasn’t gone in there since picking out clothes. It’s a strange thing to pick out clothes for a dead man. How does one pick out what someone will wear for the rest of eternity?
His hand lands on the knob, and it gives way with a squeak. The same squeak that used to echo down the hall, waking Javier up before the sun to let him know it was time for chores. Javier is flooded with the comforting scent of his father. It envelopes him, pulling tears into his eyes immediately. The bed is fixed just as Chucho had left it before he went out and started the chores just as he always did. Except that day, almost a month ago now, Chucho Peña didn’t return to the house.
He collapsed in the field. He was already gone when Javier found him. He died alone and that hurt almost as much as the fact that he was gone.
A thin layer of dust covers the surfaces in the room. He should clean it, but would it lose its smell then? In here, Javier feels surrounded by his father. The closest he can get to him. His room, the one he shared with Javier’s mother, is perfectly preserved.
Javier dares to ease onto the bed and look at the world from Chucho’s perspective every day as he woke up. On the dresser, there’s a photo of his parents when they first started dating, and one from Javier’s high school graduation. On the bedside table, there’s a book with a bookmark halfway through, a picture from his parent’s wedding day, and another of Chucho on the tractor with Javier in his lap. He couldn’t have been older than two at the time. Javier traces it with his finger, wishes he could remember that moment, wishes he could go back in time and relive it all, even the bad days, and treasure it all, ask his dad more questions, called him more often.
Javier lays down on his parents' bed. Chucho’s scent is thicker here with Javier’s head on his pillow. Big, hot tears fall from the corners of his eyes dampening the pillow. He rests his hands over his chest, letting his eyes close. Javier can hear his voice now, his laughter, catches a hint of his mother’s as well. It’s Javier’s job to carry on their legacy.
All farms have a graveyard. One of lost memories and stories. No farmer dares to clean out the graveyard. When a tractor kicks the dust or that farm use pickup can only be stripped for parts, Javier follows in his father’s footsteps. He lays them to rest between scattered trees at the bottom of the hill.

Bit of a weird question, but how do you think Legend (or any of the Links, really) would handle getting separated once the quest is over?
I'm personally of the opinion that he and Warriors would be the ones to figure out a way to visit afterwards, but that's mostly because I hate found families breaking apart to go home after the plot ends. I also like seeing takes where one of them doesn't return to their original time for one reason or another.
Time is used to this sort of thing; losing everyone after it's all over and not able to go back. If anything, I think he drifts into a short depression but eventually moves on. He doesn't try to get back to them because none of his efforts with similar incidents ever did any good, so he really doesn't see the point in trying this time. Instead, he tries to make sure to take care of the world he has to pass to them.
I think Four would be a bit broken up about it, but he's also used to saying goodbye to brothers once the adventure ends. He might dabble a bit with trying to find a way back to them, but he;s very cautious for fear of bringing back anything else, so eventually gives up and/or get's distracted with a way to bring back Shadow instead.
I think Sky would probably consider trying to use the time gates to visit the others, maybe he succeeds, maybe he get's lost for a bit and Zelda has to pull him back to their time so they can fix the gates to do what they want, maybe it works. I think he'd try though.
I think Wind and Hyrule would be broken up about losing their brothers, but they have too many responsibilities in their worlds (rebuilding their Hyrules) to really get to dabble with ways to meet the others again. I think they'd handle the loss well though, as they're bright souls and still young enough that change isn't as shattering for them. Not knowing any horrible future fates also makes letting go of the others easier, and they help themselves process it by trying to remind themselves that the others can now be at rest and at home.
Twilight and Legend would take the loss terribly. The vet keeps losing people so I think it'll really break him, and Twilight's fear for Time, for Wild, for all his brothers who he can no longer protect 100% gives him constant anxiety. Depression and a need to find a way back to the others probably take them over until either they do make it back to see the others again or they give up in despair (hence why Twilight's spirit lingers beside Wild as the Old Wolf)
Wild, obviously, is so busy rebuilding Hyrule and going through TotK that he doesn't really have much chance to do much more than miss his brothers. Post TotK though, he and Zelda probably do look into time traveling around if/when they find out Zelda's time powers.
Warriors though, Warriors probably confronts Cia and demands visitation rights as recompense for the war, Zelda backs him up. Cia is willing and the heroes get established visiting times so they ca keep up with each other. I will take no discussion on this, Warriors refuses to leave his brothers alone and sad, he will visit them even if he has to beg Cia for it.
(And if Cia doesn't agree, Nayru sort of owes Legend her life, and she's definitely got a soft spot for him, so I can see her allowing him to visit his brothers as long as he promises to not screw up the timeline.)

Hermitcraft x MHA au
I will never use this au but I had to get it off my brain or I would not be able to get anything done. Fair warning, none of this is very thought out, so it is not my best work when it comes to aus.
I'm thinking that The Watchers would be the main threat. They want to return to a world without heroes. The way they go about doing this is by slowly targeting pro-heroes, attacking them when they're alone, and stealing their quirk; sometimes even going so far as killing them with their own stolen quirk. As these attacks become more frequent and heroes start falling left and right, the heroes decide something has to be done about it.
A group of heroes gets called forward by the hero commission for a top-secret mission to locate The Watchers and take them down before they can do any more harm than they already have. The main cast would consist of Grian, Pearl, Impulse, Scar, and Mumbo; with Etho, Cub, Gem, and Skizz as supporting cast.
Scar
Quirk: None. He uses support items to enhance his strength and speed, and uses a bow and arrow as his weapon of choice.
About: #1 pro-hero. He's wanted nothing more than to be the #1 hero ever since he was young and was very determined to do just that despite his lack of quirk. He takes the hero ranking very seriously and treats Grian like his rival. He is often disheartened by Grian's inability to take things seriously. Only a few select people are privy to the fact that he is a quirkless hero, and he ends up using that to his advantage when they find out The Watchers are stealing peoples quirks.
Originally, it was only going to be Scar that went after The Watchers, but he put in a request for a team, and The Commission approved of it. Scar was the one to recommend the commission ask for Grian's help, because as much as he considers him a rival and thinks he needs to take things more serious, Scar sees how skilled Grian is and wanted him on the team.
Hero Name: Sharpshot
Grian
Quirk: Explosion. He creates explosions from the palms of his hands and the soles of his feet.
About: #2 pro-hero. He never intended to be popular, and only really got into being a hero to have a little fun, but people ended up liking him, so his ratings skyrocketed at the start of his career and have stayed relatively consistent as it progressed. He could not care less about the hero rankings and isn't even aware that his own placement is so high.
He is very destructive and careless. He usually leaves a lot of property damage behind in his wake, which somehow does not tank his public ratings? He's a little cocky and a little full of himself, enjoys blowing things up just a little but too much. At first, he was only helping with the case because he thought it sounded fun. He would be the first team member attacked by The Watchers after their mission officially starts, barely making it out alive. He starts taking things more seriously after the encounter.
Hero Name: Ground-Zero
Mumbo
Quirk: Technokensis. He has a level of control over technology, such as computers and similar hardware. For example, he is able to remotely hack computer systems as well as security systems.
About: An underground hero who specializes in information gathering and infiltration. He always hated the sensationalized nature of the hero industry and tries to stay out of the limelight. He is well adept at hacking and creating programs without the use of his quirk. He only agreed to join the mission because Grian, his best friend, begged him to. Grian's reasoning? It would be boring without Mumbo. However, Mumbo ends up becoming vital to their mission and is the one to gather all their intel and get them into places.
Hero Name: Computo
Pearl
Quirk: Lightshow. She can create clusters of light similar to stars and control their brightness and multiplicity.
About: #14 pro-hero. Despite being a new hero (only a few months into her pro career) Pearl's flashy quirk and endearing attitude has made her a quickly beloved and well recognized hero. She is very, very excited to be working with the #1 hero on a mission as important as this one.
Hero Name: Moon-Ray
Impulse
Quirk: Candy. He can secrete a thick, caramel-like substance from his body that he can harden or soften at will. When hard, it is incredibly hard to break, making it perfect for securing villains and unstable structures alike. It's also edible.
About: #5 pro-hero. He's sweet and funny, so it is no surprise that he is fairly high ranked. He is popular with kids. His quirk is surprisingly effective for things like search and rescue, so he is often called in as a first responder to disasters. He doesn't fight very many high-class villains but will jump at the opportunity to help in any way he can whether or not he is outclassed. Pearl was his sidekick before she went pro, and he was the one who put the hero commission in contact with her for the mission.
Hero Name: ???
Etho
Quirk: Magnesis. He has control over all metals. Not only can he move it around at will, it can also become malleable in his hands and he can mold them into whatever shape he desires
About: Former #1 hero who retired after receiving near fatal injuries in a fight with a villain, including the loss of an arm and leg, and permanent damage to one of his eyes. He now works in the support department creating items for other heroes. He helped create some of Scar's support items.
Hero Name (former): Forge
Cub
Quirk: Chemical sweat. He can secrete any number of different chemicals from his body as long as he knows their make up (similar to Momo's quirk but he can only make chemical compounds).
About: Scar's longtime friend who has supported him from the very beginning even when others doubted him. He was the one who got Scar into contact with Etho. Due to the nature of his quirk, he can also create medicine, so he acts as a medic for the heroes. He likes to experiment with poisons.
Hero Name: The Doctor (not an official name, that is just what he is referred to as).
Skizz
Quirk: Dove. He has a mutation type quirk that gives him a pair of massive, white wings. He can fly with them, and they also become rock hard to protect him from attacks. He cannot fly with them when they are in protection mode.
About: Skizz is Impulse's former hero partner and is currently a gym teacher at a hero school. He occasionally still helps Impulse out with villains/missions when it is asked of him. He is everyone's first go to for venting, and he gives a mean hug. He was Pearl and Gem's gym teacher.
Hero Name (former): Angel
Gem
Quirk: Manifest(?). She can take on the attributes of any animal in her immediate vicinity. For example, if a bird flies over her, she may turn her arms into wings or sprout them from her back (though that takes more effort and concentration). She does not have to see the animal for this to work, they just have to be near her. It works with bugs too.
About: #15 hero and Pearl's hero partner. They attended a hero school together and always had the intention of working together after graduating. Gem was disheartened when she was not invited to be a part of the operation to take down The Watchers, but she was happy for Pearl nonetheless and supports her all the way. She still offers support from time to time, but she is not an official part of the operation. She was not invited because they deemed her quirk "too situational" since it relied on a live animal being near her at all times for her to maintain a manifestation.
Hero Name: Fauna

Hi Pinky! So like, I had a thought. (Dangerous, I know.)
What if the Chain gets to a town and the townsfolk are just BEGGING this group of obviously well trained warriors to help them in their plight. They’re willing to pay upfront and they tell tales of a wicked beast that dwells in a cave nearby that torments them and has for several years! They beg the Chain to slay the beast and free them from its evil spirit.
Naturally, the Chain investigate.
After a journey, they arrive at the cave… which at first glance is full of treasure! Sweet! But as they continue to investigate, there’s no sign of this beast. But it seems an area of the cave has been made to resemble a home. A bunch of cloth has been piled up in the shape of a bed, a tree stump (looks like it was legit pulled out of the ground) was placed like a table nearby, and wooden boards against the wall were made to resemble cabinets. They were empty. More of the cave had the crude decor, it was like an imitation of sorts.
Anyway, as they’re investigating, they hear something approaching! So they hide and wait for whatever it is to show itself. Turns out, this ‘beast’ is nothing more than a girl (or boy. Or gn. Idk. I’m a girl so I project) maybe in her late teens or early twenties. However, it was clear she wasn’t quite… Hylian. Her skin was a pale gray. She had horns protruding from both sides of her head, and instead of hands and feet, she had claws/talons. And when she opened her mouth, she had rows of razor sharp teeth.
“I’m home~” She said in a singsong voice as she pulled a brand new gem from her bag and placed it with her other treasures. She then proceeds to throw a bloodied fish onto the table and dance around her home without a care in the world.
The details get fuzzy at this point because I’m unsure exactly how the Chain respond. But the gist is either they show themselves or the girl finds them. She then proceeds to get very scared and cowers. This eventually turns into the Chain questioning her and they find out the townsfolk weren’t truthful. Turns out, she has only ever set foot into the town once… and was chased out with torches and pitchforks. And they often come by when she’s away and trashes her home and takes her belongings.
She tried to mimic the Hylian homes she’s seen, so that’s why the decor of the cave was the way that it was. She wasn’t entirely sure what it was all for, but she wanted to be like them. She knew the people in the town slept in beds and put food on a table, so she adopted the habits.
She likes shiny things! So that’s why she has so much treasure. She goes out on treasure hunting trips and finds anything shiny. She has never stolen her shiny treasures. She actually finds ruins and similar places to dig and find what she wants.
This is also where details get fuzzy. Idk if the idea will ever continue in my mind because I’m honestly unsure of what happens. I kinda think some of the Chain (Time) is like “not our circus not our monkeys” because she’s not actually doing anyone any harm. But the other half of the Chain is like “We can’t just leave her and met the townsfolk continue to torment her!” Again though, details are fuzzy and I’m unsure of how to continue.
Hope you have enjoyed this little idea I had. Feel free to comment on it or add your own spin to it. This goes for you and everyone else who sees this.
For the longest time, I thought I already responded to this. Oof- my sickness was deep-
Poor Reader, they were just trying to fit in with the people and instead they were run out of town and attacked.
I think it would make more sense if Reader finds them first. they have no reason to show themselves to the "threat" especially if said threat doesn't know they're there yet. It's a learning opportunity to see what they do and what they've been doing in the comfort of their own home.
If Reader found them on their own, it cold lead to more angst and more opportunity to open up the dialogue for the viewer (I can't really call y'all Reader here, can I?) to learn more about the current world and circumstances. Use for exposition purposes.
I wonder why Reader was trying to copy the people so bad though? Where did Reader come from?
Furthermore, I think maybe the next point of what to do next would lend itself nicely to having Reader join them in their adventures. It's the perfect middle ground to the whole "not our circus, not our monkeys" thing you mentioned while also giving Reader an opportunity to escape the harrassment from the townsfolk.
Granted, I'm not entirely sure where to take it from this point as well. But maybe the community can come up with something. XD

Arya and Sansa storyswap: an exercise in imagination
Premise: I tried to speculate what might happen if Sansa manages to escape King's Landing and Arya gets stuck in the capital. I collected my thoughts on this scenario trying to make logical, credible choices that respected the characterization of the characters and the timeline of the books (the wiki was very usefull for this). I discarded all the scenarios that end in "…and then she dies horribly" because they're boring. I write with assumption that they would still remain POV characters and therefore mantain a minimum of plot armor. Like everyone, I have my biases so it's not perfect, but I tried to put myself in the most neutral mindset possible. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts. Part 2, Part 3
Part 1/3: Sansa
A Game of Thrones
I believe Sansa's story would remain mostly the same until the end of Sansa III (AGOT). The only thing I feel like adding is an exchange with Arya. During breakfast Sansa notices Arya's bruises and her sister tells her about the secret passage with dragon skulls that she found, and how she got out of the Red Keep. Sansa clearly doesn't believe her and she thinks it's just Arya being weird.
At the end of Sansa III they receive the news that they will be leaving King's Landing soon, and she runs away crying and barricades herself in her room. In Sansa IV she is locked in Maegor's Holdfast and we find out that she went to Cersei to tell her about Ned's plan to leave. There's a narrative hole between these two chapters that can be exploited to make little changes. What happened that night after Sansa locked herself in her room? It has to be something that makes her change her mind about going to the queen or at least something that stops her from doing so. Personally I choose septa Mordane, you could expand her character and make her a little more similar to how she is in the show where she is shown genuinely loyal to House Stark.
The septa is present when Sansa escapes to her room so it's not unrealistic that she would decide to follow her. Sansa has been behaving "almost as wicked as Arya" lately so Mordane decides to follow her to lecture her or console her. Maybe she reaches her before she can barricade the door and make her see reason. Or perhaps seeing the girl so out of it she goes to Lord Eddard to talk, and she persuades him to talk again to his daughter and help her to calm down. Here you could write a scene parallel to the one in which Ned talks to Arya about Needle.
Sansa is not happy with her father's plans, and she begs him to go to the queen, to discuss this further and find another solution, to make her stay. To reassure her, Ned tells her that he already intends to go to Cersei (as he will do in Eddard XII), but he does not reveal the real reason why he wants to talk to her.
However he fears that the girl might take the initiative and do it herself. To be safe he assigns her a guard and ask him and the septa to prevent his daughter from interacting with Cersei before the departure. (I would like the guard to be Alyn but at this point he has already left for the Riverlands).
Cersei has less informations and when the moment of Ned's arrest arrives, Sansa is with her protectors that have already been warned to keep the Lannisters away from her. When the Lannister men arrive for her, the Stark guard slows them down and septa Mordane drags her away. First the two try to look for Ned, but they soon realize that the Tower of the Hand is under attack. The septa drags Sansa into the servants' quarters (into the kitchens? in the pantry?) idk.
The Septa shoves her in a dark niche, under a cupboard, throws a tablecloth over her and tells her to stay hidden. Mordane tries to think of a plan, but the Lannister men burst in. They recognize her as one of the Stark servants but when she does not provide useful information on the Stark girls they kill her. Sansa remains there all night, lying in the dust. She tries not to make any noise, she is terrified, and from her hiding place she can see the septa's corpse lying on the ground.
The first light of dawn comes in through a little window. Sansa tries to gather courage, she has to leave before the servants start working. The idea disgusts her, but she sees only one way to go unnoticed: she undresses Mordane, covers the silk dress with the septa's habit and hides the face with her veil. Then she wraps the woman in the tablecloth, as if it were a shroud and hides her in that same niche. She tries not to attract attention and find a way out. Sansa doesn't fully understand what happened, she would like to go to the queen or her father, but she is too afraid of the Lannister men after seeing them kill Mordane.
She hasn't eaten in a whole day so before leaving the kitchens she steals some food, like she did with Jeyne. The thought saddens her, who knows where her friend is? She hasn't seen her since she had breakfast with her and Arya. 'Arya...' Sansa remembers the secret passage her sister told her about and decides to try to reach it. With a little luck she makes it, no one pays attention to an anonymous septa. Thanks to the tunnel she manages to reach Flea Bottom.
Here she lives for a few days, trying to listen conversations to find out something about her father. Obv Sansa doesn't try to kill pigeons, she has to stoop to pilfering some food, and even eat trash. She mostly frequents the surroundings of the The Great Sept of Baelor and prays. She sings religious hymns and people take her for a begging septa and throw her some crumbs. One day the sept square fills with people, they are here for the execution of the traitor Eddard Stark. Sansa tries to climb up to not be crushed by the crowd. She sees her beloved Joffrey give the order! She screams, but her voice is drowned out by the noise.
The show is over, the people disperse again. She looks around desperately searching for something, she hopes for a friendly face. it is then that she recognizes a man dressed in black: it's Yoren. Sansa had seen him a few days earlier in the throne room, while he was asking father for men to recruit in the Night's Watch (in Sansa III). He's going away, but Sansa follows him. Now it's clear to her that King's Landing is no longer a safe place and this may be her only chance to return in the North, to home, to safety.
Yoren realizes he's being followed and try to scare her away. Sansa lifts her veil to show herself, she reveals her identity, She begs him to take her out of the city with him, she try to appeal to the ancient friendship between the Starks and the Night's Watch. Yoren looks at her face and recognizes a certain resemblance to Catelyn Stark. He chooses to believe her, so he cuts her hair, dresses her up as a boy and throws her in with the other recruits.
A Clash of Kings
I find it very funny that Sansa's boy name could be Sandor. Anyway, she tries to act nice and compliant to not put herself at risk, but mostly gets people to walk all over her. The younger recruits bully her because she “looks like a female (derogatory)” and she's an easy target. On the other hand, she doesn't have a sword to steal so Hot Pie and Lommy don't try to rob her, they just think she's a loser. Sansa keeps to herself, she doesn't go near Jaqen's cage, she doesn't catch a rabbit to share with Gendry, she doesn't manage to establish a particular relationship with anyone in the group. The commonfolk sucks, Yoren is kind I guess but he stinks. It will take a long time before she can start thinking about social injustice, for now she's just shocked by their miserable living conditions.
The Golden cloaks come looking for Gendry, but Sansa stays hidden because she thinks they are looking for her. Why would the queen want that rude guy? For a moment she thinks that he vaguely resemble Lord Renly… but no, that's nonsense. And even if it was, he's still a bastard. Yoren tells them that if the golden cloaks return they must escape.
One night the group go to sleep, but soon they are attacked by Amory Lorch. Sansa doesn't want to fight, she tries to hide, but in the chaos she ends up showing a soldier down from the tower, killing a man for the first time. She does everything she can to reach the trapdoor and escape. There's no way she'll go back to free Jaqen, but she decides to grab Weasel in the escape.
The small group of survivors, led by Gendry, arrive near an abandoned village. The Bull decides to explore it and takes Hot Pie with him. Sansa doesn't know it, but Gendry wants to abandon her and the others because he thinks they are just slowing them down. He has decided to propose the escape to Hot Pie because he is the second "less useless" choice after Arya. As per canon, Gendry and Hot Pie are captured by the Mountain's men (and probably die in Harrenhal).
Now here is an important change. Arya was captured and taken to Harrenhal because she returned to the village and try to save Gendry, but I don't think Sansa would do the same so she would not be captured at this point in the story. When Sansa and Weasel hear the sound of men in armor approaching, they run away to hide and leaves Lommy there to his fate.
The two girls now find themselves in the forest alone and without supplies in a land of burned villages, they're severely malnourished. Sansa would definitely think about trying to reach Riverrun, but she has no way of orienting herself. If we want to give her any hope of survival I'd say the only solution is for the two of them to be lucky enough to walk in the right direction. In this way the two get closer to the territory frequented by the Brotherhood without Banners and with a bit of luck the outlaws finds them before they die of starvation.
A Storm of Swords
The Brotherhood takes the orphans with them and feeds them. Weasel is probably left at the first inn/orphanage (where she will live a long and happy life), while Sansa meets Harwin, she is recognized and taken hostage. She learns that Winterfell has been conquered by Theon and that Bran and Rickon are dead.
She stark using women's clothes again because she prefers them. And also because every day she manages to hide the fact that she is a girl less and less. She has no intention of cutting her hair a second time, and now that she started eating regularly again she got her first period too. Coarse as they are, it is a relief to be surrounded by people who recognize her as a noble lady. Lady Ravella is a breath of fresh air and Tom is an acceptable singer. She enjoys Edric Dayne's company and thinks he's cute, but she doesn't understand why he wants to talk about Jon Snow.
Sansa is taken to Lord Beric who promises to reunite her with her mother. The sight of the undead man repulses her, but his behavior is chivalrous enough. She certainly doesn't try to escape, she just hopes that he respects his oath.
One day a prisoner with a familiar and unmistakable face is brought to the Hollow Hill: it's the Hound.

Tumblr media
• You always hid that you were the Bat, Ever since ur father retired you were eager to take his place, it was no surprising there whenever your classmates asked you who was your parents you always told them that they died and u lived with your "Grandpa" (Aka Alfred ) and they all believed it plus even if you'll tell them they'll be even WORSE
•Now your classmates were already obsessed and overbearing with you they bicker with each other about who would hang out with you Mina would pinch your cheeks telling you how adorable you are tsuyu loves to cuddle with you and if you tried to leave she'd guilt trip you to stay longer, Hakagure love watching you even if you're not talking to her but if you are she acts like she doesn't deserve to talk to someone like you, Jirou is Making you a bunch of playlist involving love songs and your fav songs are now hers too
And the boys aren't any better
•Bakugo would force you to walk with him to class while holding hands and glaring at anyone who looked funny, Todoroki would always need help with something in his room whether be a broken lamp or some work he would always be something in his dorm room and while you're helping him he'll invite you to spend the night or to just watch you, Izuku would try to squeeze information out of you by asking a bunch of questions about everything, Sero and Denki would try to invite you to play video games with them and would try to impress you with their skills making it a big completion
•But they always question your strange habits, Like how you'll go to bed early, Or how you mostly don't use your work as much and use your fighting skills, and whenever you see the bat on TV you always 1st one to see it
•One day you were heading to bed early while talking to Kirishima and Tokoyami the 2 men got curious and took a peak in your room to their shock you were to be seen but there was another costume on your bed that looked similar to "the bats" hero costume kiri took the mask and examine it and theories were true they were gonna have to tell the class
•The next day you were bombarded with questions, squealing and wonder everyone was holding put autographs and stuff it was crazy
"HOW DID YOU BEAT 5 NOMUS BY YOURSELF"
"Troublesome extra STOP BEING RECKLESS"
"Y/n you have no reason to be fighting crime late at night it is unhealthy"
"CAN YOU SIGH MY NOTEBOOK"
You were shocked and confusion by this sudden attention so you questioned it and to your horror kiri sheepishly told you that he peaked into your room and saw it defeated you told them about how you were bat kid and sternly told them to NOT Tell anyone about it
To this day on the class all promise to protect you and keep it a secret
•Like How Kirishima and denki would beg you to let them see your gadgets and if you accepted it they'll play fight it with each other which u scolded them not too but Kiri will worship your weapons like crazy
•Ojiro would offer you to train to where it's just the two of you
•Izuku and ochako is just be obsessing over you Like lovesick puppies Izuku is just writing down everything about you and finally gets to add more info about the bar hero section while Ochako is just sighing dreamily doodling you with love hearts and cute little letters
•iida will forbid you from sneaking outside and scold you about how it is way past your bedtime and that school is important and if you still manage to sneak out he's going HUNT MODE heck even some of your classmates will join in cause they're extremely worried for you especially when you're fighting all these villains
Your classmates see a devoted to protecting you no matter how dangerous after all you are their batty little darling~

I have a ton of questions the sprung up in reading the newest chapter of Clipped Wings. I figured it'd be better to ask in a tumblr ask than stuff my comment with more words.
First, just out of curiosity; is there a reason April calls Leo 'Elle'? It doesn't seems to be derivative from any part of his name. I know Mikey has one similar-- just El, I think? What's the inspiration/origin behind them? Or do you just like how they sound? I haven't seen them anywhere else and was just curious. This isn't a knock or anything, just something I've been wondering.
How did Raph Leo and Mikey keep Splinter from knowing about the whole 'locking in the closet' thing? It seems like Donnie screamed and cried for DAYS, even if it was on-and-off. Did they just get him out of the Lair for four days? How'd they manage that?
Finally, how much does April's mom know about the boys? I know she knows Donnie's name, and that he's a good friend of hers. It's likely she knows the names of the other turtles. Does she KNOW they're turtles? Has she ever met them? How much does she know about the current curse situation? I don't know how much or little April has said to her-- I only know of that conversation in Caged Lungs where it seems like they were talking about the possibility of abuse. April's Mom seemed to have called it before April even did.
Thank your for your time! :)
april calls donnie dee/d a lot in canon, so i thought it'd be cute to extend it to leo and mikey too (elle/l and em/m) just because i think theyre still nickname-able first letters of a name, rip raph lmao. i love how they all cycle between SO many nicknames for each other and i had to extend it just a little bit (plus it gives april something kind of special with them). it just kind of popped up when i was writing her and did not leave LOL
also donnie's voice broke. surprisingly early :( by the time splinter was back he wasn't doing anything but begging and sometimes his voice wouldnt even work at all, so it was more like he was silently mouthing it. he also went dissociative several times and blacked out-- it's mentioned in ME i think that splinter was there when they were celebrating leo's birthday, so when he was around and they were probably just throwing him off the trail.
in repo mantis donnie and mikey were gone for longer than a WEEK (i think like ten days!!), its not a big surprise that they can easily make an excuse for one of them just disappearing like that. splinter will trust them when they say donnie's safe, just busy.
it might be a bit contrived but its a necessity for plot!
and the boys have met april's mom at this point!! if there were more canon information on her i probably would have included her, but as it is i just imagine they had a really dumb funny first meeting where they tried way too hard to impress her and overshot PFFT
it wasn't as scary as you'd think, mutants are ALL OVER the media now, and there's a non-zero chance april's mom has met one before, especially if she's spoken to draxum. it was a bit of a surprise but she adjusted way quicker than she would have before the mutant crisis happened BGHFHGHF. OH YEAH NOT TO MENTION THE TELEPORTING CAT LOL
she did definitely call donnie's abuse, hearing "he doesn't want to go home and he looks beat up" is easy to call. afterwards april gives her a basic rundown and its probably a several day process to get things set up with online classes and such, so they had a lot of time to talk about it, but since chapter 11 especially april's been pretty distant because that was super traumatic for her.

The characterization of Klaus in his fanfics is just insane.
First of all, this is gonna be bashing to 96% of Klaus’s fanfics lmao. I still love reading them tho.
But straight to the point, why are people writing him as if he would ever allow someone, anyone, to disrespect him the way authors make their ocs do??? No, Klaus wouldn't be giggling and shit if you call him "puppy" or "Santa Klaus", he's literally gonna murder you in the spot and even worse lmao.
I've read so much stories where the protagonist is constantly insulting Klaus and bickering with him (it's funny tho) and he just... allows it. Yes, Klaus, the man who's literally shown to tear off heads whenever someone as much breathes in the wrong way, and yet he allows this teen (because in 99% of fanfics the protagonist is a girl not over nineteen, at least physically) to talk shit about him.
Like I absolutely love those kind of stories, they're good and I'll continue reading them, but the Klaus they write is 100% ooc. And I understand why, because as someone who used to write fanfics of him, his character is just so difficult to write but it doesn't seem like they even try to.
Moving to another famous trope in his fanfics: soulmate stories. I find it very ooc that he would actually accept he has a soulmate: he wouldn't believe it, he's literally the most paranoid character of tvdu, Klaus would 100% believe it's just a plot made to control him and he would probably kill his soulmate, only to regret it forever. Or those "I've been seeing her/having dreams about her for a thousand of years, she's without a doubt the person I'm meant to love forever", what?? 😭
If Klaus ever saw this person in real life, there are just two possibilities I can think of:
A) he would be extremely paranoid and would kill this person on the spot
B) he would be extremely paranoid, but decides to not kill x person for some barely explained reason and would get to know her/him and perhaps fall in love.
I'm aware Klaus can and has been soft in canon: with his family (in occasions, more in New Orleans modern era), with Hayley, Marcel, and Cami. I mean, Klaus loved Cami so much he actually begged her to not leave him, to fully turn into a vampire because he was terrified of losing her, and a decade after her death he was still in love with her (something a certain part of the fandom fails to see lmao).
The fanfics where he cheats with Hayley/Cami/Caroline/ Genevieve/Aurora or he just cheats while he's in a relationship also are ooc imo. If he's in a commited relationship and he loves the person he's with, I don't see him as the cheater type, especially because he wasn't sleeping around in the program.
But either way, show me the fanfics with true depiction. Show me fanfics where he's so screwed up that he continually pushes the person he loves away, where he constantly hurts them with/without intention as he did to his siblings, where he constantly uses his s/o for his own personal gain or similar. Where he's actually his true self, the man he was in tvd before having Hope and even after having Hope, because she actually did not change him that much.
I think I only found three fics like that: one in ao3 called I Would Hurt A Fly, where the oc was a witch or something like it and he used her as a personal sex toy/blood bag but there were slight hints of his love but sadly was deleted.
Or the ones written by @viavolterra and @saintsir4n, the way they write Klaus is the closest I've ever seen to his canon self and it's genuinely good writing. Patisserie is also a really good written fanfic that writes the characters well, but it's a poly Mikaelson fic (which it's even better, the more the best)
Either way, a violent man isn't gonna change with the power of love and family. The Originals tried doing that with Hope and they failed, because Klaus was the same man he was at the start, just slightly less mean to his family.

DESCENDANTS 1 MAL IN DIASOMNIA
I feel like they probs know she’s the daughter of Maleficient. Like she turned into a dragon by accident.
Her most prominent relationships are the first years and Diasomnia.
She definitely gets along with Silver and they chill out together, listening to music (Mal picks loud music to keep him awake).
Lilia reminds her of her mother, lowkey, so she kinda has a soft spot for him and likes when he compliments her or acts caring to her.
Honestly, her and Malleus are two opposing individuals you don't want in a room together. They both have great leadership skills and fierce protection of their friends, so I feel like Mal'd understand him overblotting. They don't usually have interests that overlap, so they don't hang out much (to the fortune of the whole school).
Sebek respects her almost as much as he respects Malleus and Lilia, so he's always there to yell at Ace for 'disrespecting' Mal. They are also classmates and boy is Mal always embarrassed by him, but he backs off when she sternly tells him to and she likes playing jokes on him.
Ace is her favorite first year, mainly cause of his pranks. He was afraid of her, after the whole dragon incident the first time they met, but after some time, they bonded over pranks. The first time Ace pranked Mal, it was by accident, and he expected Mal to kill him, but she laughed it off and they practically became best friends.
Deuce is someone she did not like, at first, but he grew on her, ngl. Deuce was terrified of her and always nervous, but he soon became a bit more loose around her. When Deuce told Mal about his mom, she jokingly called him a momma's boy, but she's actually a bit jealous of his relationship with his mom. They are both good friends, but became best friends after ranting about how much their friends were head over heels for each other (*cough* Evie and Ace *cough).
Savanaclaw respectively fears her. Even Leona. Like, they try to avoid bullying her friends, cause the last time that happened, Mal broke the person's arm and got away scot free cause she's the daughter of Maleficient. But, she admires Leona's authority over his dorm, and she relates with Ruggie with not growing up exactly privileged. Her and Ruggie actually get along very well, when they have an aligned goal and they usually point out the others' schemes/plans in admiration. Ruggie still doesn't mess with her, though.
Jack is the only few that questions her authority and is left proven wrong. He respected her, sure, but she always seemed like a bully to him. It isn't until they spend more time around each other that they see their similarities and actually understand each other. They both hate showing affection, usually, and they're very loyal to their friends and not to mention that they are the reasonable ones of the first years, most of the time. I feel like they'd defend each other, like Ace is making fun of Jack and Mal shoots and insult at him, making Ace's attention on her.
She hangs in Pomefiore mainly because of Evie or, a few times, Epel.
Her and Epel together almost always cause trouble and chaos. She made the mistake of underestimating him, but she'll never do it again. Epel sees her as an escape from the posh life of Pomefiore, since she's pretty good at escaping Rook's watchful eye. Mal does NOT get his obsession with being manly, though. Like she can break Leona's arm and she doesn't need crazy big muscles for that.
Vil often faints around her. Mainly because of the rebellious attitude she inspires in Epel and some other Pomefiore students. Often begs Evie to get Mal out before he snaps. Their goals can align, and they see each other as formidable ally/foe when the situation calls for it. You know that Into the Book NBC where Vil is like, "Should we just leave them to die?"? Yeah, Mal definitely asks the same question at the same time.
"That creepy guy who follows Vil, Epel and Evie around? Evie says to not worry, and I don't, but if he tries anything, he's going to turn into ashes." We don't talk about Mal and Rook, guys. They're like a toxic, one sided, platonic yuri.
Mal calls Azul 'Shrimpy' cause he's a bit shorter than her, and he reminds her of a certain octopus she loved making fun of. Azul is always walking eggshells around her, so he just lets her get away with this.
Mal loves how shady Jamil is and she guessed what he was up to like a mile away. She doesn't really have any strong opinions on Kalim, so she does not care. She tries to encourage Jamil to embrace the 'dark side' more often, though. Jamil politely declines, most of the time.
Riddle was such a let down for her, ngl. She heard "OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!" and was expecting a bloodbath. Relates with his relationship with his mother, and it's kinda how she was able to realize that maybe her mother did not actually love her as much as she thought. She is always getting him to have some fun and let loose and Riddle sometimes agrees, mainly because she's a prominent figure and because he kinda likes it.
Speaking of letdowns, Idia makes her cringe, majority of the time. Like, she CANNOT believe that he's supposed to lead the dorm her dad is inspired by. Idia doesn't even bother with her. He's always hiding when she's around and he'd rather jump off a balcony than see her. He's scared shitless of her. Ortho tells him that he's calling Mal over and Idia will SPRINT out of his room.
Ortho and Mal. Mutual respect and admiration. A little robot that WILL choose violence? Why not? A girl that can turn into a dragon? Why not? Mal and Ortho hang, sometimes, mainly with the other first years.
Grim is like Mal's biggest fan. Always willing to agree with her and do anything she's doing. She finds it annoying, but endearing.

Ok but brainrot time 🧍‍♀️@neverchecking @wayfayrr
So Sage will JOIN the cult eh?
Look the way he is atm there will be inevitable drama. So much that the guy in the beginning is disrupting the (secretly cult) group bcs of him smothering and hogging darling to himself— especially when you released that hcs of how manipulative and stuff he was? That was BEGGING for some inevitable drama down the line!
Picture this: Sage is always on the lookout for your attention to be solely placed on him and him only, and he'll use whatever grubby or dirty methods and CREATE MORE himself if he has to! Just look at him and give him affection pllllsssssss?? But in the bg he's like destroyed the chain's chances of having her and it's FRUSTRATING them to a point they'd naturally try and sabotage Sage's chances in return. Heck even as a whole group.
This just further keeps Sage excluded from the group, and it's even more felt when he makes Reader choose between him or the chain. It's always that.
And Reader? Idk abt u guys but my reader will cry out in frustration: she loves all of them! How can you make her choose? I'm rlly starting to think at some point with all this pressure Sage has been doing he's gonna make Reader cry at some point (mine at least, cuz in her eyes she felt she isn't doing enough to satisfy both parties. She gives and gives but for some reason it isn't enough and it's DRAINING and she wants to cry and now her worth is being questioned by herself and that's a DANGEROUS LINE OF THOUGHT cuz it could teether over to Darling leaving and tHAT CAN'T HAPPEN)
And NOT ONLY THAT. But if this continues on far enough, it could even lead to an accident too— a catastrophic one. Remember the times when the chain wasn't united into the cult that they were now? In Gliphy's writing of that campfire union smth before they agreed to worship their new Goddess, Legend specifically said Reader was HURT from their rivalries.
History will repeat itself, with Sage.
A brewing storm that Legend, —who has become the backbone, mediator AND BRIDGE of the chain— will undoubtedly notice at some point and try as he might he'll stubbornly try and knock some sense into Sage, probs knock him down a peg a bit, he should SHARE and not become overly SMOTHERING, he'll chase their darling away and that's the last thing they need!
But Sage, stubborn, hurt and battered heart Sage, doesn't listen and doesn't himself do the same problems the chain once did before they formed. In his eyes he's ABOVE them from doing the things they used to do, or maybe, he is NOT them and therefore won't be able to do those mistakes. BUT HE IS. HE INEVITABLY WILL. And if Sage goes on this way Reader not only just cry, she'll get HURT, AGAIN.
And when it happens that's practically the eye of the storm. And until she got stuck in bed recovering with no certain date? It's a whole train wreck of explosive emotions between him and the chain.
Sage is in DENIAL. NO. NO NO NO HE DID NOT HURT THEIR DARLING NO IT WAS THOSE LINKS FAULTS IF THEY WEREN'T IN THE PICTURE SHE WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN HURT! To which the chain will flip over at him WT* NO IT WAS U THE WHOLE TIME U MANIPULATIVE ATTENTION HOG!! U MADE HER CRY ETC. ETC. It's a battle of words and there's a point they're all screaming at each other—
But naturally Legend halts everything and deals with Sage HIMSELF— Being the bridge that keeps the chain together this whole time, he'll do it again for the sake of keeping this family he actually cherished. And he'll do it by getting rid of the root of the problem.
This is an interesting clash in my opinion. Sage and Legend. Honestly they're so very similar in some ways.
Legend is a hoarder so there's like a hc of him taking everything he can to keep it to himself cuz he also loses stuff and he'll stop at NOTHING to gain his darling's affection and attention too (even when he's tsuntsun. There's no way he's letting all those walls he built be a reason he can't even have a moment w his darling). Mans lost so many loved ones and got betrayed and all that that he's become the way he is to keep himself safe, but his lil inner bunny still longs for that companion, for family, for love.
Sage lost EVERYTHING. absolutely EVERYTHING :')) He's on his THIRD adventure, the princess DITCHED him and he's like at the inch of his life facing Ganon. Man has also gotten all spiky and hard shelled bcs of it. He's tired of people and the princess (smth Legend can relate) he's tired and DESPISES Hylia (smth the chain ALL relates). He can't let anyone get close cuz he'll just get hurt again (Legend absolutely relates)
In a way, they're like, sides of the same coin? Reflected mirrors? Legend has went through so many adventures himself, and while it wasn't quite like Sage's it did leave him as hardshelled and everything as he is now. Personally I think Legend would understand him the most. So he tried, he rlly did, to tolerate Sage. Tried warning him not to do the same mistakes the chain and he HIMSELF once did, that he could push darling away. He knew how he felt the most after all. But he didn't LISTEN. And now they're darling is hurt, AGAIN. And now Legend's patience is on a thin THREAD.
Sage has ONE. LAST. CHANCE. to make things up. And this time Legend is WILLING to cut things off w him and the chain FR if he doesn't own up to his mistakes and the fix the mess he made. He's willing to keep darling AWAY from Sage, bcs the only thing Sage has been good for this whole time is making DARLING OF ALL PEOPLE question their worth, disrupting the chain and their bonds. He's not one of em? He's gonna keep being that way? Fine. They'll take darling WITH THEM and they'll leave him in his Hyrule. But not before Legend chews him out and makes him SEE his mistake. See the DAMAGE it caused not just the chain but to DARLING. that it was HIS FAULT. ALL OF IT. THAT EVERYTHING HAPPENED.
Trust me when I say Sage is one wrong move away from getting maimed by Legend. Man is so ready to kill and the others are too. Especially Cal and Wild. Legend will let Sage decide what he'll do next. And he better not be thinking of kidnapping their own darling cuz they're all gonna fight tooth and nail to keep him away from her and he'll be BANNED from seeing her even if he didn't do that. He needs to see his mistake, just like they all did. And once he ACTUALLY tries to somehow show his sorry and all that? While things are rusty and all, and forgiveness ain't easily given, they'd still accept some... Some..
He's a Link after all. No one here can blame him for anything (even if no matter what, the mistakes he did are inexcusable).

ngl emilia on btz feels very off, on her base morals rather than her panic. wouldn't the same logic applied to subaru for "it might hurt now but will be good for you in the long run" be applied to meili as well? elsa is a person that actually enjoys torturing people. there's no reason to keep her other than making meili happier right now, but having her around would not be any good, even for meili, in the long run. and we see she's willing to sacrifice that momentary happiness for the greater good with subaru.
my second point is that subaru very rarely begs for mercy when dying, and I think that makes it hit harder. I think that's why the whale death stuck so much with wilhelm, not just because yep whale, but because of subaru's desperate "I don't want to die". it's very jarring to see a loved one be so scared for their lives. so it feels really off when emilia gets on friendly terms with julius after the duel where subaru pretty much begs for mercy, desperately wants to tap out and surrenders, only to get further brutalized in return, even with ferris telling him to stop. it almost sounds like had ferris not been there subaru would have reset. and I don't think that's the kind of image that leaves your mind, for like years (taking into account that they're in re zero, because irl I don't think that would ever go away).
and it's not the sort of thing that can be rationalized either, telling yourself that their intentions were good does not make the knee-jerk reactions go away. (I'm sure this will be seen with subaru too, on btz3)
we see wilhelm get emotional/angry when he's reminded of that moment with the whale. i think emilia would have a similar reaction to say, seeing rem. and now to seeing julius as well, being reminded of subaru desperate to surrender.
specially after the fact, it probably gives the intrusive thought of "it's taking me everything I have to push subaru away right now, how can your panic almost make you kill him"
her getting together with the guy that almost killed him is not even just a misunderstanding from subaru's perspective, or something he's taking the wrong way, it's straight up what happens.
julius ain't beating the partner-beating allegations, that's twice now lmao 😭
thoughts?
A couple things:
1) Emilia’s decision about Subaru was not actually based in logic: it was based in panic. From her perspective, she had literally JUST watched him die thousands of times, gone back, watched him nearly get beaten to death AGAIN, and then listened as he basically confirmed that he was willing to do “whatever it takes” to make her happy. She is going to need a lot of time before she is able to revisit this train of thought with anything resembling a clear head.
2) Keeping Elsa alive isn’t necessarily a terrible idea, because she can still be useful and it is possible to keep her on a leash. Everyone else thinks it’s an awful idea at first, but Meili and Emilia vouching for her good behavior — especially Meili, who will openly take the fall for it if Elsa does anything to cross them — does ultimately mean that she’s going to behave herself. This gamble pays off.
3) Can’t spoil how their relationship develops without just giving everything away, but I’ll just say that how Julius is received post-duel is very dependent on how Subaru appears to react to him, how Julius appears to conduct himself around him, and how helpful he appears to be in the collective effort to keep Subaru safe and cared for. And like — it’s not like he did that and then showed zero remorse and threatened to do it again or something, he IS actually making a concerted and genuine effort to be a helpful and comforting presence in Subaru’s life. It’s not like he’s Elsa, who is not allowed anywhere NEAR Subaru precisely because she actually does not have any remorse for her previous actions (and would not have had any even if she DID remember violently murdering him two times in a row).

I know you have analysed them a lot but what is your fav part of rhaelya? And what's a fic idea you would like to write about them?
oh Rhaegar & Lyanna are the reason I joined fandom for the first time, so you know my love for them is special 😅 as for my favorite part: I have probably talked about this before but I'm very touched by the concept of 'human connection in a hurricane.' It's about how chaos causes panic & panic can overwhelm us but it's true purpose is clarity. In the mire of asoiaf political intrigues and betrothals, Rhaelya represents that clarity. In general, I find Rhaelya to be more similar than not (for all the icefire chatting). What do you do when you love your father but he's the reason you can't go home? If the people who love you can't help you or save you, does that turn you cruel or empathetic towards the world? When do/don't we trust?
There is also the obvious which is that Rhaegar & Lyanna fall in together because the other is what they admire. It may seem like a random & sudden pairing but really there's a mirroring from the beginning. Rhaegar sings a song to an audience which doesn't understand—Lyanna cries for a reason her family doesn't get either. Their coming together is about hiding the Knight of the Laughing Tree's identity and in that moment they see each other. Lyanna jousts for Howland—Rhaegar does it for Lyanna. Ostensibly the latter are chivalrous acts (defending the weak/honoring the maiden) but because they're not performed within the usual paradigm as expected these actions are a) reviled and b) reveal what truly motivates the two: Compassion. Justice.
I am also partial to the complication of returns/how leaving a place that is no longer safe is a love story/the moments that beg you to run headlong into them and you, human as can be, make that choice. All of these are part of Rhaelya's story. It's true that Lyanna left her family who she loved. People will say ah she was young, she was stupid, she was blinded by Rhaegar's charisma; but again, this is a moment about clarity. About certainty. Justice is about what happens in the future. Lyanna ran to the future & left behind only those whose love mattered less than their ability to possess her.
Rhaegar I have recently longposted about so it's clear how I formulate him. On the Lyanna part I've definitely said this but basically once the war kicked off there was no way for him to transport Lyanna anywhere without further endangering her and/or him family with Elia—you need to understand that Rhaegar loved his children to understand him at all. That he loved his mother, his father, had seen them broken down & turn apathetic or even cruel towards the world. You need to understand that Lyanna represented a shining light of hope against this backdrop for him. I am also one of the people who believe that Rhaegar & Lyanna's sexual relationship only started after Brandon/Rickard were executed so clearly this is a complex but also painfully simple story about the human heart for me. I love people at their most human. Affirming people's dignity during suffering or crisis is an ethical duty I feel I have towards others. And GRRM did exactly that for Rhaegar and Lyanna, so how can I not love them? I'd ship Rhaelya if I was born in a small Bavarian village in 1753, etc etc.
As for the fic I'd love to write, there are two:
1—
Rhaegar riding through the Riverlands on his way to the Ghost of High Heart. He's with Myles Mooton, Arthur Dayne, Richard Lonmouth, Oswell Whent. They stop at the Inn at the Crossroads. Everyone's laughing and drinking, Myles is flirting with the one pretty barmaid while Rhaegar is ContemplatingTM—Bess is her name. Bess boasts about all the ladies and lordlings who stopped at their inn recently & gives a description of what sounds like Brandon and Lyanna Stark. They enjoy riding out on their lil horses. But, Bess says, the Northern lord didn't like the look of our little lordling so they didn't stay long & haven't been bacj. The girl was kind though! She gave a few coins for the boy after slipping away from her wroth brother. Suddenly, Rhaegar's tuned in and the little lordling is trotted out...
A toddler with black hair and blue eyes. Soon after, the plans change.
2—
Their first meeting including Rhaegar nerding out a bit over meeting a crannogman after Howland uses lite magic to try and help them escape. Benjen & Howland trying to take responsibility for being the KOTLT and failing. Lyanna not just a winter maiden but a stubborn Northern bitch hardened by winter (it's the iron underneath baby!!). Sussing each other out during a long silent stare down. Maybe somebody even cracks a Joke? That kind of thing.
OK long answer 💀 sorry but I can't help myself!

Greetings!
Actors Au Schneider interacting with Schneider (ehhh just have either her be alive miraculously or this is before she disappears).
What are your headcanons for Sonetto and Schneider for actors AU? Either as a pair or individually is up to you!
Whats the tea between Arcana and Constantine?
Ill guess the seasons for the actors au are the patches, and the mysterious narrators are like the mysterious voices that appear in the beginning of eps. Grandpa and Grandma could be old famous actors (maybe the Grandpa was the narrator in Disco Elysium since Ive heard his voice has been compared to that game) or related someone in the cast!
Hello again, Comrade!
Schneider talking to AU Schneider could probably happen after the storm, a surprising apparition of another - less healthy and tired looking - Schneider was quite a surprise, and naturally both wanted to see each other.
AU Schneider is healthier and more active than Canon Schneider due to their difference in pasts, but still maintains that similar personality trait that characterizes them. This didn't last long, as the others, but Schneider was able to leave this alternative universe in peace after knowing her family is safe, even if not in the world she comes from.
Canon Schneider: Is My Lord alright?
AU Schneider: "My Lord"? You mean Vertin? Yeah, she must be spending time with her girlfriend
Canon Schneider: Girlfriend? Is she dating Sonetto?
AU Schneider: Nah, Sonetto is dating me
Canon Schneider: What?
As for Sonetto and Schneider, it's not that long of a story actually.
Sonetto used to study with Vertin and Mesmer Jr in the same class and held nearly the same activities, when it comes to filming, she's quite camera shy.
One of the most extroverted ones is Schneider so she always ended up helping Sonetto during scenes, trying to get her to crack open that shell. One would say they're complete opposites, which is why they somehow attracted each other.
They're not dating per say, it's that stage where they both know but haven't been able to give that step further, either for outside reasons or simple nervousness.
Sonetto is definitely more shy than in the series, though she does develop alongside her character. This is her first time actually acting, unlike some of her classmates (Matilda is pretty experienced in this field due to her family name but ofc, they're just acquaintances) and she's very, very nervous, which prompts her to often make mistakes
Meanwhile Schneider is not necessarily new but she's not been in the filming industry for long, she's slightly older than Sonetto after all. She knows some stuff and decides to help a fellow.
Gotta say, Sonetto did have a crush on Vertin a while back
How do I explain Constantine's and Arcana's relationship... It's complicated.
They're friends and have been for a while, they were one of the first members to be cast and have had enough time to connect. And by friends I mean frenemies who got it for each other but will not admit it.
They're their biggest supporter and hater at the same time. Saying they're enemies is getting rid of every friendly interaction they had, saying they're friends is a bit too little but saying they're lovers is quite the lie.
It's... Complicated.
Smoker grandpa and Sarcastic grandma ate quite a famous couple the directors had to beg for them to give their voices for the series. They're married and have children who are older than half of the cast, who already have children, they are grandparents after all. None of their children actually act on R1999, they truly enjoy the series but only they are a part of it
The narration happens at the start of a chapter or during a change of scene, offering more information on the background of the characters and current situation. The narrators also have a part to play on separate projects (Like Three Doors, for example) but they gain relevance as a storyteller for the series.

Canon CoD Characters as 70s Slasher Characters
Just like with the TF141, I'm going to be putting these characters into the stereotypes that I think they'd be in a 70s slasher. Once again, none of them can be the killer.
I've also done this post with Non-Canon CoD characters as well!
Alex would be a background character. Perhaps he has a few interactions with the final girl, perhaps he's just a background character. Either way, he's not super fleshed out in the slasher, which makes him either fodder or someone who gets away. He'd definitely be one of the characters that fans of the movie would beg to know more about, probably has a great fight before dying, or he helps others escape from the killer. If he's used to pad the body count, he's going down kicking ass.
Farah is either the smart girl stereotype or the legend person. She'd realize pretty damn quickly that she's in a horror movie and then it would depend on her role. As the smart girl, she'd be working with the final girl to make traps for defense against the killer. However, if she's just there to tell the legend of the killer, she's dipping so fast. Listen, if it was a human, she'd be in your corner. But the killer you're facing with her as Ms. Exposition is supernatural. She would, rightfully, not fuck with that. Probably helps Alex evacuate people still and tells the final girl how to kill the killer if such information is available. If she does face the killer, she's going down swinging dammit!
Kate is Ms. Exposition. If the killer has any information on them, she'll get it to the final girl. One of the characters that immediately realizes that she's in a horror movie. Is probably not with the rest of the cast physically, so she's the most likely to survive (outside of one person, but we'll get to them). Not quite team mom, but gets protective of the final girl should she help out. If she does end up facing the killer, you can bet that she's going down fighting.
Alejandro is the lovable jock. He forms the classic pair of nerdy-and-jock-friends with Rudy (who we will get to next). He's smarter than the usual archetype, but he's self deprecating, insisting he's only good for his muscles. However, due to being this archetype, he also suffers from the Worf effect, usually being one of the first killed to show how strong the killer is. He does go down swinging, though, sometimes leaving a wound that the final girl can use to defeat the killer.
Rudy is the cute nerd, as the other half of the nerd-and-jock-friends with Alejandro. He helps the survivors realize they're in a horror movie, usually upon finding Alejandro's corpse. He'll come up with traps and ways to corner the killer, but he's more likely to go straight after the killer for revenge. He's definitely going down with a fight, if he doesn't stay with the final girl. Usually dedicates the kill in honor of their fallen friends.
Valeria is the drug dealer. Because it 's a 70s slasher, with the Hays Code still being a heavy guideline for movies, she's going to die because of moral reasons. There might be implications that she crosses the border as well, because we all know those old slasher movies are just a look at cis, white, conservative men's fear. Because of both of these reasons, despite how badass she is in CoD, she'd be killed without a fight, in a painfully drawn out way. (If it was a newer slasher, she'd probably escape, honestly.)
Graves is the Asshole© of the group. He drinks and smokes, similar to Soap, but he also refuses to take no for an answer unless someone else forces him to accept it. When the kills start piling up, he tries to leave, not in the terror way but like 'fuck y'all, I ain't dying for dick'. This does not save him as he's guaranteed to die now, once again because 70s slashers tend to be morality tales. Abandoning people is a no-go, and Graves dies for his crime of betrayal, usually by surprise, meaning no fighting back.
Makarov is the "human" antagonist. He's not the killer, but he may have helped make the killer into, well, the killer. Or he's the asshole who wants to get something from the group. Because of this, however, he'll usually disappear in the 2nd half of the movie. Is he dead, did he escape scot-free? Who knows, not the audience. He can be interchangeable with Graves' character, as to not make too many unlikable characters on screen. Once again, the morality of 70s slashers makes him die, if he dies, anticlimactically.
Nikolai is the driver of the vehicle that drops off the final girl. You remember me mentioning someone surviving with Kate? Yeah, this is him. He drops off his passenger and fucks right off. He might not even know that a killer is loose, but he's not staying. He's got other shit to do. If he does get caught by the killer, he's fighting, with a high chance at taking the killer down with him.
