pls omg I'm so mad rn I'm literally fighting like ten ppl on yt shorts cs they think that the whole "war" thing between Palestine and Israel is dumb nd that they choose to stay neutral. It was basically a vid abt kpop idols who got hate for promoting starbucks nd OMG the comments got me raging, saying that it was not a big deal cause it was only a cup. 💀

i feel like im not making any sense but does anyone else feel like there are stories that let u run with them and ones that spell everything out for you
#im reading that post that says artists are directors of audience reaction and not its dictator:#'you cannot guarantee that everyone viewing your work will react as you are trying t make them react. a good artist knows that this is what#allows work to breath. by definition you cannot have art where the viewer brings nothing to the table ... this is why you have to let go of#the urge to plainly state in text exactly how you think the work should be interpreted ... its better to be misinterpreted sometimes than#to talk down to your audience. you wont even gain any control that way; people will still develop their opinions no matter what you do#im thinking abt this again cuz i was thinking maybe the thing that lets adventure time work so well the way it does is cuz it doesnt#take itself too seriously that it gives the audience enough room to fuck with subtext and then fuck with them back yknow. i think it was#mentioned somewhere that they werent even planning to run with the postapocalyptic elements that are hinted in the show but changed their#mind after the one off with the frozen businessmen and dominoed into marcy and simons backstory. on the other side there are stories that#explain too much to let the story speak for itself and i think it ends up having to do more with the crew trying to lead ppl in a certain#direction than expand on what they have and i see a lot of this with miraculous. like when interviews and tweets are used as word of god in#arguments and it becomes a little stifling to play around with it knowing the creator can just interject. u can say its the crews effort to#engage with its audience but it feels more like micromanaging. and none of this is to say there ISNT room for stories that spell things out#theyre just suited for different things. if sesame street tried abstract approaches to themes and nuance itd be counterproductive#a lot of things fly over my head so i need help picking things apart to get it- but it doesnt have to be from the story itself. ive picked#picked up or built on my own interpretations listening to other ppl share their thoughts which creates conversation around the same thing#sometimes stories will spell things out for you without being so obvious abt it that it feels like its woven into the text. my fav example#for this might be ATLA using younger characters as its main cast but instead of feeling like its dumbed down for kids to understand why war#is bad its framed from a childs point of view so younger audiences can pick up on it by relating to the characters. maybe an 8 year old#wont get how geopolitics works but at least they get 'hey the world is a little more complicated than everyone vs. fire nation'. same for#steven universe bc its like theyre trying to describe and put feelings into words that kids might not have so they have smth to start with#especially with the metaphors around relationships bc even if it looks unfamiliar as a kid now maybe the hope is for it to be smth you can#look back to. thats why it feels like these shows grew up with me.. instead of saving difficult topics for 'when im ready for it'#as if its preparing me for high school it gave me smth to turn in my hands and revisit again and again as i grow. stories that never#treated u as dumb all along. just someone who could learn and come back to it as many times as u need to. i loved SU for the longest time#but i felt guilty for enjoying it hearing the way ppl bash it. bc i was a kid and thought other ppl understood it better than me and made#feel bad for leaning into the message of paying forward kindness and not questioning why steven didnt punish the diamonds or hold them#accountable. but im rewatching it now and going oh. i still love this show and what it was trying to teach me#yapping#diary

#I think people treat others on here who share any sort of news like they’re actual professional journalists and we’re not#I genuinely don’t think a single person on here is#We’ve just taken it upon ourselves to share the news bc the actual journalists are the ones who mince words and have ulterior motives etc#But usually if someone on here makes a mistake it’s an honest one & they will rectify it if you notify them#You do not have to attack them or say they’re misleading on purpose like I think most ppl on here#Don’t have that sort of agenda. At least the ones who’re fighting for legitimate causes like Palestinian and Sudanese genocide etc etc#I just hope no one on here gets attacked in light of the Samara situation#I just think we should be more open to making mistakes instead of jumping to bad faith interpretations#News have to be accurate but mistakes r also ok and usually a simple communication resolves it#Tumblr is the bad faith interpretation website so I’m not surprised but I also think we need to be more graceful#Bc how else can anyone improve / learn more etc etc#Whenever someone on here shares an opposing opinion it’s not that I dislike that or want to intentionally suppress it#It’s usually just framed in a very inflammatory way that doesn’t even give me the opportunity to give my side and might motivate other ppl#To think I’m basically like a normal journalist who intentionally misleads 💀💀 I am An Iraqi Girl Who Is Trying To Help#At least this has taught me how to gracefully own up to mistakes and take accountability etc that’s pretty cool#Bc even w all that said I think it’s important to hold urself accountable if u do make a mistake regardless of intention.#We just shouldn’t demonize making mistakes bc how can someone grow Ok I’m done

'I just don't believe in/understand it!' well unfortunately for you I just don't stop existing as an agender person bc you don't believe in it. I'm not fucking tinkerbell.
#vent post#transphobia#let's play a game where we guess if my mom can ever learn to apologize when she did something wrong on accident#and that answer is rarely if ever#a lot of this isn't going to make sense#so just ignore me#also class move from my mom in response to being told she was (potentially) misgendering to RANDOMLY BRING IN MY FATHER WHO I'VE BEEN TOO#SCARED TO EVEN COME OUT TO YET#LIKE NO I HAVEN'T BROUGHT THIS UP WITH DAD AND YOU FUCKING KNOW WHY#BUT THANKS FOR BRINGING HIM INTO THE CONVERSATION I GUESS THAT WAS SUPER RELEVANT#maybe I messed up but so fucking did you#confronted her in the most neutral and nicest way I could bc I KNEW she wasn't misgendering on purpose and so I SAID THAT#and /I/ get called TOO SENSITIVE when asking them too be a bit more careful#I'm not asking for tHE FUCKING MOON HERE I'm asking you to LEARN TO CORRECT YOURSELF WHEN MESSING UP#and I keep fucking saying sorry why do I DO this the second there's friction#I just start apologizing for her and saying I never meant to cause harm I can never stick to my guns when I feel someone's mad at me#especially someone I'm close to why am I LIKE this#this happened the last time we argued and then I feel bad and she gets off scott free#this sounds one-sided but to be fair I did make a misunderstanding#but I still get called ''''too sensitive''''' while holding no accountability#I was APPROACHABLE and NEUTRAL in bringing it up so we could HAVE A CONVERSATION LIKE ADULTS#and yet STILL ASKING FOR TOO MUCH and get the cold shoulder#I knew she was mad from the first text#this shifts lines a little for me#misgendering#tw transphobia

it’s so frustrating trying to research how to support another cluster b disorder because your partner is questioning having it, but all of the stuff is about how abusive they’re going to be
if anyone could give me advice (preferably from someone w/ npd) on how to support a partner questioning/with npd, i would greatly appreciate it :(

having a cishet boyfriend means I have to sometimes do the whole “ok you’re not a bad person but this thing that you’ve never gotten pushback on in your entire life is actually part of a harmful mindset which affects the world around you” thing with surgical precision

(Chronically online subject anon) I was very tired when I sent that ask so I maybe could have phrased it less aggressively but that was actually an astonishingly thought out answer. I actually work as a teacher in the public school system (USA, young high school so like 13-16 age range), started working only this year, and I am. So astonished at how so many of these children act. I have genuinely been approached at lunch and ask what my most controversial discourse takes are (1/2)
(/2) and I genuinely just don’t have any because I grew up in a technological isolated environment (fundamentalist Christian homeschooling cult), and I’ve also been in your discord server and some others and I never expected kids to act like they do on tiktok and discord in real life as well??? I could use some of your advice to tell them if it comes up even worse in the future, so thank you for that genuinely (2/2, can’t go back to edit the beginning)
Yeahh I get you. Keep in mind these kids live in grim times though yaknow? Like Covid going on? Man idk abt other ppl but worst we had when I was a kid was swine flu and even that was scary. And highschool sucked so fucking bad for me I can’t imagine going through this shithole while also going to highschool and dealing with all those hormones. Plus all the other BS they got going on, man I’m struggling to make ends meet as a young adult with the housing market and shit and nothing seems to be getting better so imagine what they’re looking forward to in the future. Even if the kids can be frustrating due to being chronically online, keep in mind a lot of chronically online kids come from chronically distant families and they don’t really have somewhere else TO go. These kids won’t learn better if we don’t teach them better and if you’re genuinely a teacher, you have a unique opportunity to be a turning point for the kids you teach. Guide em to the right direction and don’t be an asshole to the Gen Z’s like the gen X’s were to us, I’m sure they’ll appreciate it.

.............. you know what. A nap does sound nice.
#fire emblem#feh#i think maybe peony is just like that.#man.... i'm like. split between desperately wanting them to do more with her character ESP this new development#and like. almost respecting it. actually.#like knee jerk reaction of crying bad writing/god forbid women get anything ever aside#EXCLUSIVELY considering this in-universe. peony knows exactly what's she's about#she knows exactly what she wants and has an unwavering optimism one track mind about it#LIKE....... i kinda want to put her in the same category as corrin.#someone who actively CHOOSES kindness and love and hope ESP in the face of The Horrors#which can come off as naive or gullible or childish but like. corrin isn't stupid for it.#they have hope and they were sheltered. they hold onto hope even after learning how harsh#and complicated things can be outside of their tower. i almost want to say the same can be said for peony.#she's always been hopeful. she's always been optimistic. and maybe absolutely in the beginning#it was childish naivety (esp on the account of. being a child LMFAO)#but i think what i'm thinking here is now she's finally gotten a chance to grow a little....#remember and reconcile w her past... reconnect with her sister....#and in it all she chooses hope. also not to mention her desire to help others above all else#which IS WHAT MADE HER PEONY IN THE FIRST PLACE‼️‼️‼️ IF/WHEN SHE SWAPPED W SHARENA‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️#peony i am NOT overthinking it. i suffer from divine visions you see. I WILL CONTINUE TO BE OBSESSED W YOU#(also both of these are her 40 convo i just had to go back to grab the overthinking it dialogue)#(and i want everyone to see. my one orb of incredible pain. i did have to spark for her. 🫥)#fe peony

some of y’all should. go outside. touch some grass maybe.
#one of the joys of being a human is being able to go be stupid in our youth#we say and do stupid shit as kids or teenagers because we don’t know any better#and what’s a better way of finding out that our words or actions were wrong than experiencing backlash for it firsthand??#how are we supposed to learn from our mistakes if we never make them??#that’s what our childhoods are for. being stupid#and then we grow up and we take all that stupidness we had as children and learn from it#but some extremely chronically online people don’t believe in making mistakes?? like ever??#not even as a child#which is baffling to me#because we’re all stupid as kids. all of us. especially the people who pretend they’re better than everyone else#so if someone made an honest mistake in their past#literally what right do you have to criticize them for it#if they’ve changed and grown as a person there’s no need to hold their past against them#and i’m talking about actual mistakes not shit like bullying people or saying slurs repeatedly bc you think it’s funny#i’m talking about shit like saying offensive jokes because you were taught the humour of them but not the harm#and saying ignorant shit because you literally didn’t know any better#anyways people who try to cancel people for harmless shit they did 10+ years ago go outside#delete your twitter account while you’re at it#you’re currently choosing to be judgemental and overly critical of people’s pasts in an attempt to ruin their lives#and i think that says more about you than it does about them

I’m a new metal head? I wanna broaden my listenings but I don’t wanna support any bad or racist bands. I listen to ghost Metallica and Volbeat and slipknot and misfits what other bands would u recommend? Is there a site as well to see which bands are discovered to be racist and such ?
while I don’t know of a website that does that in particular I do use music-map.com to find bands similar to the ones I like. it def helps to Google and even read through the bands wiki page (if they have one) but i try to find and listen to smaller bands. the one thing I will say is a LOT of bands, even the really popular ones all have dirt on them, it’s just up to you to decide what you listen to or not.
anyway some really great bands you should check out are Loathe, Zeal and Ardor, Gojira (they do some really great work with indigenous environmentalists), alien weaponry, sepultura, kublai khan (hardcore not rlly metal), and jer (ska but soooo good), pleasure venom (punk!), sunami (hardcore again), Dare, outta pocket (both hardcore lol), unto others (my fav rn), and faetooth!
