How do you spend your free time? => Daydreaming. Lol. But other than daydreaming, I would say I love to read books and write poetry. Also, scrolling Tumblr :>

What are your hobbies and how did you get into them? => Daydreaming is something I've been doing since day one. Reading is quite close too, I've been a book person since I was 6. I actually got into writing because I saw my friend do it and thought, "how hard can it be?" Turns out, not everyone is like that.

What book or movie had a lasting impression on you? => Books, I would say it was After Dark. Really good book that I enjoyed reading a lot. The Song of Achilles too, that book killed me. As for movie, it's a recent Malayalam film called Kishkindha Kaandham. Good gods, I died.

What kind of music do you enjoy? => Oh, boy. I don't know the names. I think hip hop and similar stuff? I really like Chase Atlantic's vibes. But also, some of those really melodious songs Indian languages have, hehe.

Who is your favorite character of all time or at the moment, and why? => All time? Leo Valdez and Tabito Karasu, mnnnghhh. Leo, I first liked him for his character design, but I fell in love with him through the series, where his humor was and where his pain was. Really well written character, it went to shit towards the end of the series though. Boy's got a heart of gold. I love him. As for Karasu, my glorious man, let's ignore my simping for a moment, I can deeply resonate with his character, for one. And he's amazingly written, too. He knows his flaws, knows his limits, but still pushes upto it without showing any of his flaws. And I just really like characters who have the mind to think things through.

my name is rurumi and i enjoy spending my free time writing!

some of my hobbies (outside of writing) includes: drawing, building gundams and keyboards, and fashion! i got into most of them on a whim and became instantly hooked. aside from self-expression, being into fashion also helps with making friends in college because you always have something to talk about!

a book that left a lasting impression on me would have to be either kafka on the shore by haruki murakami or before the coffee gets cold by toshikazu kawaguchi. both stories have kept me up at night thinking a lot about the 'what ifs' in life.

i enjoy soul/r&b alongside anything of jrock influence, but i will basically listen to anything that sounds good. i am currently listening to 'so what' by lucy!

my favorite character at the moment is rin itoshi from blue lock because hes so ridiculously edgy, but at the same time i sympathize with him a lot. on the other hand, my favorite character of all time is suletta mecury from the witch from mercury series, she's an absolute ball of sunshine that i aspire to be.

Suou, the one who values his words

I know I recently kinda called him a liar in my fic, but despite what people might think, Suou truly never lies.

Harmless jokes

Suou had made quite the entrance with his unique style and the famous "Leo Dicaprio" line.

This, to people who knew he was just bluffing for fun (which was pretty much everyone except our beloved Sakura), was quite the shocker, but in a good way, since it helped bringing across that he was indeed friendly.

Facing inquiries from his peers

Suou's way of dealing with questions he doesn't want to answer resembles his fighting style a lot: Deflecting, and throwing the opponent off-balance.

Deflection here refers to how he diverts the attention to someone/something else, thus avoiding having to elaborate.

For example, after the duels with Shishitouren, Suou redirected his classmates to Nirei so that he didn't have to answer.

And by throwing the opponent off-balance, I mean he asked the question back at the other person, like how he dealt with Sakura here.

This doesn't always work, but it is surely effective against someone who is as easily flustered as Sakura.

However, this means that Suou's natural enemies are people who push for an answer regardless of his effort to drive them away.

Entering: Tsugeura Taiga.

Apparently, Suou really had a hard time fending himself off of pushy people. I'm pretty sure he would just beat it into their heads if they weren't someone he cares about, but Tsugeura was his classmate and although stubborn, the boy meant no harm. This left Suou, in a way, kind of helpless.

Look at his face, he's going though it! (And I'm cackling about it haha)

No matter what, there will always be situations where he couldn't crack a joke to cover up, but instead of lying about it, Suou simply refused to answer.

This can be either just nodding to what they say and calling it a day...

(You can see the pattern here. "Everyone calls me that", "That's what everyone says". He's avoiding having to give a concrete answer.)

...or, smiling mysterously.

When Sakura took notice of Nirei's scrapings and questioned Suou about it, you can see the contrast between Nirei's and Suou's responses here. Nirei had opted to an innocuous lie in hope that Sakura wouldn't push it, while Suou only gave him a secretive smile.

Suou just, does not lie.

I feel like a lot of people don't recognize this trait of him. To be fair, it was only when I was going through my notes of Suou's behaviors that I finally saw the pattern.

You were an English teacher who recently started working at a new school. Youre quite nervous, but exciting at the thought of what awaits you with this sudden change.

Donnie

- Donnie was one of those strict science teachers that nobody dared to underestimate.

- At first, he didnt seem too interested when he heard of a new teacher who started working there.

- hes never even been a romantic type, he honestly didnt care and let fate decide if he gets a partner or not.

- When he saw you for the first time though, he thought he might be hallucinating.

- "Oh sweet Galileo help me.."

- you probably immediately checked his "cute but mean" type without even saying a single word

- He became more interested in you, talking to you more often, even at times asking u to meet up during the break.

- "Hey, uhm.. Could i maybe interest u in some coffee during the break?"

- he thought all of this "romantic feeling" thing wasnt real, but he seriously cant help but fall for you.

Leo

- Leo is obviously the laid-back cool Spanish teacher.

- Almost every student liked him, he was chill and even jokes around

- (he once drew donnie on the board with a huge forehead and wrote "megamind" next to it)(no, donnie did not take that well)

- He was quite interested when he heard of a new teacher, hell he was probably the first one to interact with you out of his brothers

- The second he saw you, this mf fell straight face down in love with you

- "oh mi gosh thats the new teacher?! Shes gorgeous! Do you see her Donnie?! You see her?! Oh i so need to get her number!!"

- tries to act sly and flirt with you

- and fails miserably

- "Hey there hermosa, how do you feel about a date? Ya know, just you and me? *Wink wink* *leans on wall, trips and falls miserably*"

Mikey

- Mikey is the sweet art teacher and students enjoy being around him, but yet again they probably wont dare to underestimate his "Dr. Delicate touch" side

- He was quite excited when he heard about a new teacher.

- When he saw you, he suddenly felt nervous and flustered. And he knew why.

- at this point, everyone but you knew abt how he admires you, a little more than in the friendly way.

- He couldnt get the courage to go and talk to you, which put Dr. Feelings to shame

- When you actually started talking tho, you got quite close.

- Youd be with him almost every break

- You would often stay in his classroom/art studio and watch him paint during the lunch break

- and during those times he even asks u to pick his colours

- "Hey Y/n, which colour do you think would suit the ladies dress more? Red or blue?"

- Sometimes you even jokingly ask to be his model, but in all honesty he doesn't mind at all

- you guys were an inseparable duo, and he caught himself falling more and more for you

Raph

- He's the PE teacher, hes fun but strict when he needs to be.

- He doesnt mind that theres a new teacher, hes quite excited abt it actually - he would gladly want to meet you.

- First thing that catches his eye is that he thinks youre really pretty.

- He's most likely stuttering during ur first convo now😭

- Hes super sweet, bringing you coffee and/or lunch, helping u out with random teacher stuff, checking up of u, ect

- "Hey! How you feeling? I brought you some coffee.. if youd like."

- Hes so shy, but he cant help but feel his heart flutter every time you thank him or show appreciation towards him

So it turns out that sixteen minutes in the prison dimension is about six months outside it. Give or take. 

Donnie calls it a temporal differential. Leo’s third day back was spent being gently interrogated within an inch of his life. For every answer he gave, Donnie’s face got a little darker. 

He seems a lot older than the last time Leo saw him. Everyone does. They all look at Leo like he’ll disappear into thin air if they blink too many times. 

He expects it to wear off eventually. He’s only confined to the infirmary for a week and a half, and on bedrest for a week after that, but even a month later Raph and Mikey continue to stick to him like glue. 

“I’m okay,” Leo tells them, when his bad leg seizes up and he staggers on his way to the breakfast table and Mikey’s face crumples horribly. Raph just huffs and lifts Leo clean off his feet to carry him the rest of the way. Swallowing past the uncertain lump in his throat, Leo adds playfully, “I mean, I’m not one to complain about the all-star treatment, but—”

“Good,” Raph rumbles, “then don’t.”

“Sorry if we’re being annoying,” Mikey says with a brightness in his tone that doesn’t sit quite right. He’s said that like fifty times since Leo came back. “We just—we missed you, Lee.” 

And what is Leo supposed to say to that? 

“Annoying? Please,” he scoffs. “I’m the king of everything obnoxious. You couldn’t annoy me if you tried.”

When Raph lowers him into a seat, Leo lifts his arm in invitation for Mikey to scoot his chair up right next to his, and then wraps him up in a tight hug. Mikey slots into his side like he belongs there, and he does, he always will, but it’s just a bit different than Leo remembers. 

Mikey is still his little brother. But only by a few months now. Leo’s seventeenth birthday came and went without him. 

And a part of him—this nameless little part that lives in the back of his mind, that’s lived there ever since dad made him team leader and ripped the rug out from under his feet—thinks that’s why Donnie doesn’t know how to be around him anymore.

He’s a constant presence. He’s a solid pillar for Leo to lean against when his legs don’t want to hold him up. But they don’t know what to say to each other. That unspoken understanding, that twin thing—it’s gone. 

Or so Leo thinks. 

Big Mama is more of a weird estranged relative than a mortal enemy these days, but she’s an entrepreneur first, eccentric wine aunt second. When she gets a big business idea, all bets are off. Leo can kind of respect that. It’s really thrilling and a little fun trying to match wits with a criminal mastermind, like high-stakes 5D chess. 

But her invitations could use some work. Sending a bunch of burly yokai in Grand Nexus uniforms to intercept the turtles on their way to Run of the Mill for dinner is a scheme that could have used a bit more time on the workshop table. 

Immediately Leo’s brothers close ranks around him. He’s allowed to run around in his leg brace at this point, but he has, in no uncertain terms, NOT been cleared to fight. He can tell from the set of Raph and Mikey’s shoulders that they’re beyond ticked off, but he can’t read Donnie’s posture at all. 

It’s bad timing, but suddenly Leo is preoccupied with those dark little thoughts he’s been having recently. Maybe Donnie isn’t happy to have him around. It’s been a lot of extra work, right? Dealing with the prodigal brother’s physical therapy and night terrors aside, now Donnie can’t even pick up some pizza without having to play bodyguard. 

So Leo is distracted—sue him. He’s got a lot going on. When an owl guard grabs him by the arm, he’s not ready for it. The yank backwards causes him to stumble, bad knee bending underneath him. 

The guard seems to loom over him for a moment. The evening gloom of the alleyway and the lurid glow of a nearby neon sign makes Leo’s brain sprint right back to the prison dimension. A distressed chirp works its way out of him before he can fully reorient himself. Add that to his ever-growing list of Good Reasons To Fake His Own Death. 

Big Mama’s goon looks surprised by the sound, grip relenting on Leo’s arm immediately. He wouldn’t do that if he were here for villainous reasons. So Big Mama probably actually considers kidnapping via sudden ambush to be a halfway decent method of picking her nemeses-slash-nephews up for an evening visit. 

Leo only has a second to think, Okay, I can work with this, turning up the charm and pretending like he can’t still feel the aftershocks of panic, before he’s being yanked again. 

This time he’s pulled right in against Donnie’s side, a strong arm around his carapace. There’s a burst of light and warmth—bright purple and overheated electronics, he’d know his brother’s ninpo anywhere—and they’re surrounded by a gleaming, glowing arsenal. 

The owl guard didn’t have a chance in hell. Donnie still doesn’t really look at Leo, not once as Mikey and Raph rush over, not even on the empty-handed trek back home. 

But he sits next to Leo on the couch while Mikey enlists Raph and papa’s help with dinner since their pizza run failed. The bickering and Mikey’s cooking playlist create a familiar, comfortable backdrop where it swells out of the kitchen. Donnie’s shoulder knocks against Leo’s. It feels like how it used to. 

Before he can lose courage, Leo blurts, “The thing I miss most from before is being twins with you.”

As soon as he says it, he wants to take it back. This is more mortifying than all of those initial grueling physical therapy sessions combined. 

He’s scrambling for an escape route that isn’t just hobbling away as fast as he can, or portaling to the bottom of the ocean, when Donnie suddenly says, “Draxum said we hatched together. We’ve been together all our lives. You’re pulling our twin card just because I'm finally taller than you?”

Leo sputters. “By an inch!”

Donnie raises an eyebrow at him, waiting with uncharacteristic patience for Leo to catch up. Maybe that’s what he’s been doing this whole time. 

Eyes stinging, Leo slouches into Donnie’s side. The softshell matches him, his cheek coming to rest on the top of Leo’s head. It reminds Leo of hugging Mikey earlier that morning at the breakfast table. 

Leo still fits here. There’s a good chance he always will. 

“Guess this finally makes me the older twin, huh, Nardo?”

It surprises Leo into laughter, maybe the first big loud laugh to come tripping out of him since well before the invasion. Conversation in the kitchen grinds to a halt and Mikey and Raph come barreling out a second later all covered in flour, eager to catch him in the act, to get in on it. 

“Sorry, Tello,” Leo says, grinning, not very sorry at all. “Not in this lifetime.”

The sound of Regulus’ feet hitting the ground echoed throughout the castle as he ran down the seventh floor corridor. James was hot on his heels, calling out his name as he tried to catch up. It was almost embarrassing how fast James was in comparison to Regulus. As he ran, Regulus reminded himself that he should probably take a few extra laps around the pitch and work on his speed and stamina. He was already out of breath by time James caught up, grabbing him by the forearm and turning him around.

“Reg, let me..” James caught his breath. “Explain. Please.”

As Regulus tried to steady his own breathing, he shook his head. “There’s nothing to explain, Potter.” He took a step back from James, releasing his arm from his grip.

“You saw my mark and you freaked out. I should’ve told you about it but I was terrified you would act this way, especially when it first appeared.” On their seventeenth birthday wixen received soulmarks on their skin. The marks appeared in a random place, but always had something to do with your soulmate. Last year on James’ birthday his appeared right underneath his collarbone. The Leo constellation. Today, a month before Regulus’ seventeenth birthday, the Slytherin had accidentally seen it when James shirt lowered a little bit too far.

“James Potter, terrified of me?” Regulus scoffed and took another step back. “Don’t manipulate the situation any more than you already have. You had no interest in me before. You got your mark and all of a sudden you were everywhere. I asked if you had an ulterior motive and you said no! I trusted you… I mean not at first but.. after awhile, I trusted you.”

“Don’t misinterpret the situation any more than you already have.” James rebutted; his voice was less harsh than Regulus’. He was patient and understanding, even when Regulus didn’t want him to be. “I know how this seems, Reg, I’m sorry. I got the mark, and I knew immediately it had to be you. I watched you for awhile and when I thought it would be okay, I tried to become your friend. You’re my soulmate. I wanted to get to know you but I couldn’t tell you that. You hated me. You blamed me for Sirius leaving, and your family—” James didn’t need to continue that thought, they both knew what he meant by it. The Blacks didn’t believe in soulmates and once they were of age, they broke their soulmate bonds. In recent times, the only Blacks who haven’t broken their bonds were Andromeda and Sirius, and both were disowned. “I know that you’ll break the bond once you get your mark. I wanted to experience what its like having my soulmate close to me because our time is limited.”

Soulmates was a popular conversation topic at Hogwarts, but Regulus and James had never had that discussion. They both knew where each other stood. Once Regulus got his mark, he would begin the process of breaking the bond, and James—James was a hopeless romantic who believed wholeheartedly in soulmates. He made it known over the years, especially when he thought he found his soulmate and made overdramatic displays of affection trying to woo them. Regulus thanked Merlin he had never been on the end of James Potters public display of attraction.

Regulus swallowed the lump in his throat and took another step back. His eyes found James’, he went from being upset at James to being upset at the situation. He knew the Gryffindor was right. If James had told Regulus outright, they wouldn’t have gotten close over the last year. They weren’t best friends forever by any means, but they were close. Regulus trusted James, and that was saying a lot. Regulus would’ve hated him more and avoided him like the plague if he had known about the mark.  “Was it what you imagined?”

“The only thing that could’ve made it better was a snog.” James tried to joke with a laugh, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“I’m breaking the bond.” James winced. He had been expecting it, but hearing it made it real. It hurt worse. “But we still have time until my birthday. We can make the most of it.”

There was an unmistakable look of hope on James’ face as his eyes lit up. “You’ll let me take you to Hogsmeade? And hold your hand as we walk through the village? And snog in The Three Broomsticks?” And so begins ‘James Potter’s 10 Step Plan to Get his Soulmate to Fall in Love and Not Break Their Bond’. The title needed some work, but James was up for the challenge.  

“Don’t push it.” Regulus murmured as he took the first step forward. “We will go to the Three Broomsticks. You will buy me a butterbeer and we can share a table for fifteen minutes maximum. If anyone asks you sat across from me because you thought I was Sirius.”

James was quick to agree, taking what he could get in the moment, although he knew he wouldn’t stick to that plan come Saturday. “Deal.”

So, recently I saw that you started drawing leosagi sketches and when I saw the first one you made I was like "OMG. THE STYLE IS AMAZING".

And I saw the last one you made and it melted my heart. The way Usagi was worried about Leo and he only rushes to hug Usagi bc he missed him...

My heart is blessed. Also I hope they appear more often, maybe an idea (there's no problem if u dont want to) that Usagi takes care of leo after a battle.

Gah-! Thank you so much!! 🥹🥹 Awwwee I'm feeling very very happy that y'all like my silly leosagi sketches hehe ☺️ And yes, they will most likely appear more often 🙌✨ I've been sketching them quite a bit and I think it's fair to say that I caught a bit of brainrot 😅

Also, funnily enough, I actually sketched a lil angsty onesagi moment for ~reasons~, but I was inspired and sketched a lil moment of f!leosagi so here's that~

I really like the idea of both of them being very attentive whenever either one of them gets hurt. I will be honest and say that I don't know too much about Usagi's character, (but that will change with further research into his character...) but for some reason I imagine he would get really quiet and solemn if Leo got seriously wounded. Like, it would be difficult for him to be by Leo's bedside and watch him recover slowly and all that. I dunno hehe 😅

What kinda of nicknames do you think the bayverse turtles would use for their s/o? Do you lean more towards the cute talk or a form of their s/o’s name? Do you think the turtles would use these nicknames anytime, or just in private one on one moments? 🤔 also, do you think they’d get flustered if their s/o gave them a nickname? (Alright. Sorry that last one was fishing. I know they would get flustered 🤣, but I also wanted to see what type of nicknames for them you like)

Leonardo: Leo goes for more whimsical nicknames. He doesn’t have a lot of that in his life, whimsy and sweetness, so he gets it where he can. Blossom is one I used recently. My heart. Honeybee. Pretty bird. Princess if you’re lucky. If he’s in a teasing mood he’ll call you something sticky sweet like honeybunch or cinnamon bun. All of this is in private though, Leo is a deeply private turtle and not a fan of PDA. If you’re with his family and friends he’ll stick to a form of your name or just honey if you’ve done something to make him especially soft.

In bed, now. In bed. Pretty girl. Sweetheart. Mine.

As for nicknames for him, he’ll melt into a pile of goo if you call him sweetheart as you kiss him on the cheek. Call him ‘my hero’ when he gets something down from a high shelf for you and he’ll give you that bashful smile. But really, he likes it best when you just call him Leo. Especially when you whine it into your pillow as he- [is shot]

Raphael: Princess. Shorty. Sweetheart. They start out as teasing or even condescending nicknames, and slowly morph into genuine terms of endearment as he falls in love. He doesn’t care who hears him call you these names either. You’re his, and he wants everyone to know it. Raph is the kind of person who prefers a few well-used terms over variety, so he doesn’t really add any terms of endearment when you get together. However, if you catch him just right he’ll call you ‘my love’ in private.

In bed, it’s sweetheart, babygirl, or baby.

He loves being big and strong, so he loves it when you make him feel big and strong. Big Red. Hunk. If you call him something silly like ‘Mr. Muscles’ he’ll scoff but hide a pleased smile. You’re allowed to call him something like Raphie or Raph-a-doodle, but only in private. Call him handsome, though, and it’s a one-way ticket to Meltsville, population Raph.

Donatello: I know it’s very popular in the fandom for him to use dove. It’s cute, I don’t mind it, but personally I don’t see him using that. Donnie is the kind of turtle to use the more traditional nicknames most often. Dear. Darling. Hon. Sweetie. If he’s feeling especially fond he’ll use ones with a more whimsical and celestial bent. Starlight. Moonbeam. Sunshine. Like Raph, he’ll use these terms at any time. However, he also likes using your name, in full. There’s nothing else that encapsulates you quite as well as your name.

In bed, he still sticks with the traditional. Baby. Darling. Love. Good girl.

Like Leo, Donnie likes it when you call him by his name. Donnie or Donatello works just fine for him. He is very fond of his name. But secretly, he loves it when you unconsciously parrot whatever nickname he just used back at you. i.e. “How was your day dear?” “Better now that I’m with you dear.”

Michelangelo: I’ve spoken a bit about my mans before, here. He’s a big fan of nicknames, and will use a variety. He loves coming up with new, silly nicknames. Angelcakes, of course. Banana muffin. Cupcake. My personal favorite, Starburst. He’ll also use any he hears his brothers using or hears on TV. Mikey’s always looking for inspiration for new names to call you. If he can find one related to your interests, like songbird if you love to sing, he’ll use that one frequently. He uses them all the time, anywhere, even when referring to you when you’re not there. Sometimes you wonder if he actually knows your name. (He does. He just wants to make sure he has your attention.)

In bed, he likes to use babe and baby a lot. Gorgeous. Babygirl. My love if he’s feeling sappy.

Mikey doesn’t really care what you call him, but he loves it when you match his energy. Get in a cute little contest where you try to outdo each other with the most ridiculous nickname, and he’ll have the time of his life. He does like variations on his name. Mikey, Mike, Mikes, Mikester, any variation will get him to grin at you.

jason was tired. so tired. he felt like he was sinking into quicksand as he walked, back aching as if he was atlas, holding up the sky. his fingers twitched, residual sparks of lightning flickering up his arms. they stung. they had never stung before.

he marched straight to his lonely cabin, not stopping at leo's bunker, or aprhodite's cabin—not even yours. he was never too tired to say hi to his friends before. he was never too tired to say to you before. what was wrong with him?

the door shut behind jason, providing him an escape from the ever-busy camp. it gave him relief to slump to the floor, his legs giving out on him as if they were just holding out until he was alone, where prying eyes couldn't reach.

he simply sat there, hugging his knees to his chest like he did whenever he wanted to hide from the loud orders he was given as a child, or so he remembered.

his perfect mask was breaking, his perfect attitude slipping. his nails dug into his arms, the bite of pain clearing his foggy mind. he wouldn't allow himself any time to wallow in his feelings. jason forced himself up and headed into the bathroom.

he wanted nothing more than to take a warm bath, to soak for a while and rest his aching muscles. maybe slide a little too far down so his head dipped below the water, and stay there until it did its work.

but he couldn't, and he wouldn't. he got into the shower, the water ice against his skin. his body screamed in protest, lungs tightening as he took a deep breath at the sudden drop in temperature. that was sure to keep him out of his own head.

and yet, like everything he felt he did recently, he failed. jason couldn't sleep, his mind racing with feelings he tried so hard to shove down. emotions impeded with his ability to work, and if he couldn't work properly, then he was useless. his brain didn't seem to care; it laughed in his face as it threw thought after thought at him. because maybe, in the back of his head, he did feel useless.

it was always percy this, percy that. percy got to be praetor while jason got whispers of "you could never be him." was there something about him that was so forgettable people couldn't wait to replace him? was that why his memories were gone? because nothing about them was so important for even him to hold? was that why, even though little by little they returned, he still had blank spaces in the days he used to recall? maybe if he worked a little harder, he'd be as good as him.

and it was quite unfair of him to feel this way, he believed. after all, percy was a good guy. it's not like they were on bad terms— they could even be called acquaintances, friends if you were looking on the bright side.

thinking of friends brought him to you, the only one he had memories of from the start. you were his best friend, his one and only. you stuck with him, explaining who he was and where he came from as best you could. he remembered how you had painted him like an angel, but he looked at the gaps of your brushstrokes and saw that he was hardened like a double-edged sword. he remembered how you glorified the structure of the romans for his sake, but he read between your praise and found a yearning to be free.

and that's why when you slipped from his waiting heart, he let you go. he did not wish to anchor you when you were meant to be among the clouds, soaring like a bird (yet, why was it that he found you with the son of the sea instead of him?)

"i'm going on another quest." jason smiled weakly, doing his best to put up a brave face. but gods, was it hard. he wanted nothing more than to feel your warmth in his arms; maybe it would soothe the way his heart clenched every time he was reminded of the way he'll never be yours.

"another?" you frowned. he hated the way his eyes were drawn to your lips like lightning to metal. "didn't you just get back from one?"

he shrugged, trying to laugh it off. "yeah, well, someone's gotta do the work around here. i'm the best man for the job." he sounded like he was trying to convince himself. once jason realized your expression wouldn't change, his shoulders sagged. he looked more like a kid than ever, bearing the weight of the world only the gods could lift. "look, i'll get back soon, okay?"

"swear it?" you held out your pinky, your eyes never leaving his face. you offered him a grin, trying to lighten the mood. "if you don't, i might have to get you back for that."

jason chuckled, linking his pinky with yours. "i swear." but it wasn't enough, he needed to hold you. just one more time. he wrapped you in his arms, an aching feeling in his chest that wouldn't go away. his heart twisted even more once he felt you hug him in return, your hands stroking his back like you always did when he was anxious.

he felt you mumble a "be safe" into his shoulder, and he willed himself not to cry in front of you. he gave you a firm nod and pulled away, taking one last second to admire you before he had to leave.

"see you soon, jason." you offered him one last smile.

"goodbye, y/n." why were the words so final on his tongue?

it was because he knew, from his sun-streaked hair to his sore heels, that he would never return. he had the foreboding feeling that something terrible was going to happen, and he'd rather have it happen to him than anyone else.

it was for the best, he thought. he'd die knowing he saved his friends than give up. isn't that what his whole life was for?

jason felt the arrow pierce his heart, three more succeeding it. it was strange. though he bled and bled until he laid in a bed of blood, it felt like a cruel but relieving escape from his emotions. it eased his limbs like a drug, made him feel high on the tang of silver in his mouth. but his heart still fought to beat, to live, to remember. memories of leo and piper, percy and annabeth, frank and hazel. reyna and camp jupiter, chiron and camp half-blood. jason remembered you. how your smile was the light of his life, how it was the last time he'd ever see it again. but he'd die happy, the image of your face branded into his eyes as they shut. when the spear pierced his chest one last time, he felt the weight of his mind disappear back into the sky from which he came from.

It was a simple recon mission at the purple dragons “lair”

But of course, something just had to go wrong you can't quite remember what had caused all of this but you all ended up having to fight the Purple Dragons

And even worse, they had some new blood, some guy who had recently escaped prison Much smarter than the others He pulled a gun And everyone froze especially since it was pointed at you. You had taken up some Kunoichi lessons with Master Splinter And he and Leo agreed that this mission was simple enough for you to tag along Little did they know, things would change tonight As you stared down the barrel You could feel your accelerating pulse in your ears It felt like you couldn't breathe, but were breathing too fast at the same time As if your heart had stopped, but was beating out of your chest Your head felt like an avalanche had pummeled down You managed the strength to take a glance at Leo, only to see him putting down his katanas, ordering his brothers to drop their weapons as well The new blood chuckled and started walking toward you You could see Leo flinch out of reflex but stopped himself so as to not put you in any more danger The new blood tucked your hair out of your face with the gun, and all the brothers seemed to stop breathing But, you remembered Master Splinter's words *Look for an Opening* So, you did You waited for him to start talking about how he would turn the turtles into turtle soup (what is up with that, btw?) And he finally started waiving the gun around mindlessly, so you took a chance You hit his arm, hard But he pulled the trigger faster Thankfully, he shot you in the shoulder, instead of, you know, your face The brothers acted quickly, with the gun out of your face They started attacking Donnie stayed behind to start administering first aid But the scorching pain was too much You'd been cut here and there from some of the foot clans swords But nothing compared to this Your ears were ringing And your vision started going black

When you woke up, you were in the dojo, on a mat There was a pot of warm water beside you and a warm rag on your forehead As you looked around, you saw Leo staring at you a little unsettled, you just stared back at him That's when the little shit said, “Please stop getting shot, it stresses me out” Oh. OH! Mother—you decided against strong language, as you were in the dojo, so you opted for a sassier comeback “Oh, well if YOU don't like it!” as you rolled your eyes. His eyes went wide like saucers, and at seeing your smile, he calmed and laughed while shaking his head “Only you could laugh after something like that” You didn't know if it was the lighting, how close he was to you, or the after-effects of shock But you swore you saw a blush on his face as he looked at you Your faces were only inches apart, and as you both switched from looking into each other's eyes to the other's lips It's as if you had just… synced together It was a small, short, and sweet kiss But it was with him And that's all that mattered When you two parted, Leo was the first to talk Looking at you with wide eyes and a red face, “I thought… I thought that, after Karai you wouldn't…” he trailed off, not wanting to fully confess his self-deprecating thoughts. You had known about his short-lived crush on Karai, but after finding out that she was Master Splinter's daughter, those feelings quickly dissipated Since you were close friends with Raph, the moment you started to have feelings for the Fearless Leader, you'd asked about Leo and Karai, but Raph cleared it up pretty quick “I know that you… felt something for her, but that was a while ago, and, or at least I hope, those feelings are long gone” “Of Course they are!” You two sat like that for a bit until Leo broke the silence by “clearing his throat.” *cough cough* He looked away and mumbled, “could we kiss again?” You almost didn't hear him, but giggled when you were able to make out some words “That depends… are you going to take me on a date after this?” He looked so scared (omg I love this awkward little doofus) “Yes! I mean… Yea, sure…” You decided to take the lead on this one and leaned in and kissed him, a bit harder than before And 1 kiss turned to 2, turned to 3… And then Mikey burst through “Ayo y/n are you… ohhhhh, LEO IS KISSING Y/N!!” You'd never seen Leo look so embarrassed and ready to kill someone at the same time “MIKEYYY”

Ok, so this was requested but I lost the request ;( anyways I hope y’all like it!! Lmk what y’all think!!

This is part 1 because it was long with just these two so I will be doing a part 2 with Donnie and Mikey

Warnings: a little steamy but not smutty

Characters: Leonardo and Raphael

Leonardo:

You had called Leo to come over to your place considering you haven’t had any time together recently. Quite frankly you’ve been wanting to try and step up your flirting game with Leo. You can tell he’s holding back sometimes and you know he’s touch starved. Hell, at this point you’ve been wanting him to show even the slightest bit of affection that’s more than his hand on the small of your back or on your shoulder. 

You had your headphones on as you were going around setting up the atmosphere. You went to your room to grab a blanket and threw it onto your couch as you could finally smell the popcorn and went to grab it before it burned. Grabbing the popcorn from the microwave you turned around and nearly had a heart attack at Leo leaning against the wall at the entrance of the kitchen. Leo chuckled at your reaction and walked towards you to pull off your headphones. “I called out your name a couple of times ya know.” You feel the blood rush to your face, embarrassed that you didn’t notice someone in your house. “Sorry, I was kinda distracted,” you giggle out. “I can see that,” he smirked, “so, what are we watching?” “I thought we could pick something out together.” You started to head towards your living room with Leo trailing behind you. You put the popcorn down on the table in front of the couch and grab your blanket to wrap it around you as you sit down. Leo sat down on the couch next to you, just not close enough to be touching. His arm rested behind you on top of the couch and you’re taking it as progress for the moment. He grabbed the remote from the table and leaned back again, “You really think we’ll be able to agree on something Y/N?” he asked as he was trying to figure out which streaming channel to choose from. You lean in closer to him and grab the remote from his hand and make sure your hand brushes his just enough, while still being natural, to gauge his reaction. “I’m sure we can meet in the middle,” you said while looking into his eyes. You noticed that he seemed to pause a bit before he clenched his jaw and gave a small smile back to you. 

You turned back to the tv with thoughts racing through your mind as you picked Paramount+. “You wanna watch something funny, scary, or a series for us to watch together for the foreseeable future?” you ask as you lean back, resting your head against his arm and looking back up at him with a small smile. He looks down at you and is almost getting lost in your eyes before realizing he is leaning in a little bit. He swears he saw you look down at his lips before looking back back into his baby blues. He cleared his throat and before he could lean back to his spot, you grabbed one of the tail ends of his mask and pulled him back to look you in the face again. “Hmm? You didn’t answer my question, my love,” you said sweetly, “How about a show so that you can come over more?” “I, uh, I think I’d like that,” he stumbled out. “Why don’t we watch Criminal Minds? I’d feel better watching it with you here to make sure no one hurts me,” you said knowing lowkey you get paranoid sometimes. You honestly just want the excuse of being with him for long periods of time and the possibility of getting to snuggle into him with the idea of him providing comfort. “Sounds good,” he quips. You smile widely, let go of his mask, and turn to the tv to get the show started. 

Leo’s arm had made it from the couch to wrapping around your shoulder after the first 5 minutes. You were about halfway through the first episode when you went to grab a piece of popcorn only for Leo to pluck it out of your hand as it was about to go into your mouth and put it into his. You looked up at him with a small giggle and an ‘are you serious' face. He didn’t even look down at you as his eyes were on the tv, but he did nothing to hide the smirk on his face. “If you wanted me to feed you, all you had to do was ask, Leo.” “Then feed me, darling,” he challenged, not thinking you’d actually do it. You put the popcorn on the table and stood up with the blanket that was on your lap and Leo’s eyes watching your every movement. You then moved to where you stood in front of him and Leo was seconds away from asking if you were see-through but choked when you sat down on his lap and one of his hands immediately went to your hip. You placed your hand on his muscled thigh and leaned forward to grab the popcorn which Leo nearly slammed his head back to close his eyes and trying not to focus on the feeling of you practically grinding on his lap. He could feel the heat from between your legs when you grind down a bit on him. You can feel his hand tightening on your hip and you can feel your heart racing as you sink further into his lap and put your back flush against his chest. Leo brought his head forward, placed the hand he had on your waist down to the top of your thigh, and then wrapped his other arm just under your breasts, pushing them up before bringing his lips to your ear, “god, you drive me crazy.” “Good,” you whispered back as you brought a piece of popcorn up to his lips. 

Leo chuckled and grabbed the popcorn bowl and put it back on the table. Wrapping his arms around your waist, he breathed in the scent of your hair and placed a kiss on your shoulder and slowly made his way to your neck and up to just behind your ear. You’re putty in his hands and he knows it. Turning your head, you decided to take the leap and press your lips against his, gently at first, but when he cupped your cheek with his hand, he deepened it. “If it’s going to be like this when I come over, I’ll be over every day.” “Leo, I… don’t want this to be just as friends-” “I’m more than happy with being more than friends, Y/N,” you smiled at his words and rubbed your nose against his softly before placing quick pecs on his lips. He laughed and returned the pecs before doing one last deep, passionate kiss.

Raphael:

You got a text from Raphael to come over to the lair and who were you to say no to him? Not to be dramatic but you’re in love with him and the way you guys flirt is so fun. Plus, getting a chance to fluster him is your favorite pastime. 

Walking into the lair, you’re greeted with Mikey yelling out “Y/N!! Angelcakes!! What are you doing here?” “Hey Mikey!” you greeted as you were lifted into a bear hug by the orange clad turtle, “I was summoned here by Red,” you returned the hug with as much enthusiasm. Mikey was putting you down when you heard Raph chuckle from the gym area, “Hey, shorty, get yer ass up here.” You turned around to see him leaning on the railing from the second floor and he smirked at you as he moved his toothpick with his tongue. You smile as you feel the heat rush to your face but couldn’t help but blow a kiss up to him as you begin to walk towards the gym. He chuckled and headed back into the gym and waited for you. 

“Hey big guy,” you said as you sashay your way up to Raph and put your hands on his abs, pushing your chest up against his, making your breasts look perky against his hard plastron. He swallowed hard trying not to get caught looking at them and instead looked you in your eyes as he placed a hand on your lower back holding you against him a little tighter. “I missed you ya know,” you said with a small pout. “I always miss ya babygirl.” “But if you did, why didn’t you give me my kiss when I got in here,” you tease and tap your cheek waiting. Raphael genuinely smiled, took out his toothpick, and cupped the other side of your face as he placed a gentle kiss against your cheek bone. He didn’t even think before he did it, he changed his grip on your face to guide your face towards his and kissed you sweetly on your lips. You were shocked he finally made the move that when he pulled away you were chasing after his lips. Standing to his full height he chuckled at your pout and put his toothpick back in his mouth. 

Raph stepped back a bit before you grabbed his belt straps and pulled him back to you. “Oh ho ho, you have no idea what you started shorty.” “I think I have an ideAH-” you ended with a high pitched squeal as Raph threw his toothpick and picked you up with one hand going under your ass and carrying you to his room. You guys were in his room in no time. “W-Wait! Raph, we just had our first kiss! I-,” “I ain’t gonna do nothin’ yer not comfortable with baby. I just wanna kiss you sum more.” You smiled at him as he put you down and put both of his hands on the sides of your face. You held your breath as he leaned down and kissed your nose before brushing his against yours softly. You giggled at how sweet he suddenly was. “Raphie, I-,” “Shh, I know N/N, I know. I do too. So much, sweet girl.” You smiled before smashing your lips against his. You push him back to where he felt the bed hit the back of his legs. “Sit down.” “Yes, ma’am,” he said with a small smile. He sat down and was finally at eye-level with you. His legs were spread so you could step between them and press yourself against him again. You put your hands on either side of his face and give him sweet, lingering kisses all over his face. Ending it with a sweet kiss on his lips, with another, and another, lingering longer after each kiss. 

After finally separating, you just wrap your arms around his neck and his around your waist. You both just breathe in the moment with each other, just glad to finally be able to touch each other this way. Raph pulled back first and pushed you back with a small ‘watch out’ as he moved to lay on his back, but due to his shell he was propped up a bit. “C’mere pretty girl,” he said as he patted his lap. You smiled and crawled up to straddle his lap and lay across his chest as he wrapped his arms around you tightly and stuck his nose into your hair. He let out a deep breath and let out a small, “You’re all mine now baby.” “Forever?” “Ain’t no way I’m letting you go.”

The reason I think of 2012 Donnie as being the third oldest isn't entirely because of how Raph messes with him, or his strong middle child energy that repeatedly makes itself known, or how Leo and Raph are more invested in their training than him and Mikey, or how he interacts with Mikey in a way that he doesn't with the others.

It's because of how easily he's swayed and influenced by his brothers.

Donnie is often seen as the type to ruminate extensively over what would be the right thing to do and how to do something the right way, a habit that Leo is well known for exhibiting as well. This is best exampled by when he got on Mikey's case for not properly defending against seoi nage. Even though Mikey's manner of fighting and defending are effective, it's not satisfactory to Donnie because it wasn't the proper way of doing things.

And, on Leo's end, we see it best exampled by him wanting his brothers to do things 'the right way' instead of 'their way'. It's something the two occasionally have to be reminded not to do, both to others and themselves, but getting things done in a manner that's expected of them is something they take pride in. It ties in with Donnie's ceaseless desire to be accurate about things, not because he necessarily needs to, but because he likes to be accurate and it's important to him on a personal level.

This goes hand in hand with Donnie exuding a strong sense of responsibility that not even Raph displays too often unless Leo is out of commission. We see this a lot in how he usually sticks by Leo when patrolling or surveying a situation, where as Raph and Mikey tend to hang back and fool around while counting the minutes.

Beyond that though, Donnie held Splinter's words in high regard when he told him Timothy was his responsibility, and he sided with Leo about bringing the mutated squirrels to the lair, the complete opposite of Raph and Mikey who were vehemently opposed to the idea. He worked ceaselessly to create retromutagen for Kirby and Karai, and he ran himself ragged working to find a cure for the Shredder's brain worms. There was no guarantee that he would've ever figured these out, especially after many failed attempts (and he never could create a cure for the worms), but he stuck to the tasks he assigned himself because he felt a strong responsibility to aid those he cares for and wanted to keep his word.

Just like Leo.

Of course he gets quite a bit of that from Raph as well, but it's as clear as a window recently lathered with windex that Raph had a much bigger influence on Donnie's temperament. He easily gets agitated under stress, or no stress whatsoever as we saw when he blew up over something as small as Mikey spilling popcorn on him, and he complains quite a lot or is quick to snap when things aren't going his way (yet another thing Raph does).

More than the tendency to dish out sarcastic comments and insults like it's Halloween, they're also the only ones to doubt Leo's leadership and they don't hold back one bit. Raph may be the most vocal, but Donnie exhibited leader tendencies long before the S2 finale and, like Raph, isn't fond of being told what to do if it doesn't align for him. The internal conflict in Follow the Leader was heavily instigated by Raph not wanting to fight like Leo, with Donnie all too easily falling into step with him and convincing Mikey to follow suit for a brief stint. It's moments like these that puts Donnie's desire to do things the right way on the back burner and brings forth his desire to do things his right way.

The biggest thing, or person, that made Donnie go back and forth between Leo and Raph though, was Karai.

When Donnie is first introduced to her, he immediately dislikes her for her carefree nature that puts those around her in a dangerous situation, as well as her lack of regard for anyone other than herself. And then, when Leo reveals that she's in the Foot, he has all the more reason to dislike and distrust her, something that everyone agrees on to albeit varying degrees.

Funnily enough though, when Karai tries to form an alliance with the turtles to fight the Kraang, Donnie, despite him preaching about her not being trustworthy minutes prior, sides with Mikey when Leo looks to them for an answer while Raph still remains suspicious of the situation.

Then, when Karai approaches them and claims to believe Splinter is her father, Donnie sides with Leo, despite his previous misgivings about her in The Manhattan Project Part 1. Him and Raph were the most outspoken about her upbringing and current place in their lives as a villain as they grappled with the fact that she's Splinter's daughter. But this time, he wholeheartedly believed her and trusted her to some extent, and he's as shocked as Leo and Mikey when she confesses to them. Her moment of betrayal was just enough for Donnie to go back to Raph's side and question Leo's desire to find and rescue her. The two don't want to bother with her anymore, but they still follow their leader when it's clear that Leo isn't changing his mind.

Even though I just chronicled Donnie flip flopping between Leo and Raph, I did also mention him siding with Mikey on one instance, and their long story with Karai wasn't the only one. When they get pulled into an alternate dimension reminiscent of feudal Japan with an anthropomorphic rabbit as their only guide, they have to rely on Usagi while aiding him on his journey with Kintaro, but Leo gets fed up with his leadership being undermined (as well as being thrust into trouble they didn't ask for) and orders his brothers to follow him while they find a way out of this dimension. Mikey is the first to speak up about how dangerous (and idiotic really) Leo's idea sounds since they're in unfamiliar land, and Donnie immediately says Mikey's right, showing that he also wasn't keen on traversing with no clear destination in sight. They were better off trusting Usagi.

Knowing when to trust someone isn't the only way Mikey influenced Donnie, as he also directly and indirectly encourages Donnie to think outside the box whenever he's struggling to figure something out. Of course there's the obvious one of learning how to fight without thinking, but there's also Mikey's habit of using unconventional means to reach an intended result, as well as him easily pointing out the obvious without the intricacies and convoluted mess of a situation distracting him from it.

What is arguably the most interesting influence Mikey had on Donnie was learning to give someone a second chance when they've wronged you the first time.

Mikey put this on display when Slash returned during S3 in the fight against the Kraang. Though things seemed fairly neutral towards the end of Newtralized!, Leo is immediately wary of and angry with Slash appearing before them after their last two run-ins with him, something Slash expresses guilt over and apologizes for. Leo is still antagonistic and distrusting towards him when the Mutanimals make it clear they're on the good side, but Mikey comes forth and tells his brother that everyone deserves a second chance to prove themselves, and this is Slash's second chance. Leo doesn't want to ally himself with Slash, but Mikey's insistence is enough for him to put aside their differences and prioritize Earth.

And Donnie does the same for the Fugitoid. When it's revealed that the black hole generator was his creation, the Fugitoid emphasizes as much as he can that he regrets creating the device and handing it over to beings who only wanted to abuse its power, but Leo is again the main one to doubt him, with Raph seconding him. Donnie leaps in to put out the fire, preaching exactly what Mikey stated a season ago about giving someone a second chance, and April and Mikey jump in to back the Fugitoid up. Leo is unfortunately too stubborn to heed their words, though he doesn't attempt to force anyone on his side either. Donnie had absolutely no reason to try and convince Leo other than the fact that the Fugitoid has been helping them this whole time, and was honest with them about his previous mistakes.

He didn't have to tell them the truth, but he did, and that was all Donnie needed to believe they weren't being used by the Fugitoid.

There are likely other instances of the guys pulling Donnie in a direction different from the one he'd typically choose, and Donnie occasionally exhibits similar behaviors to Mikey when the youngest turtle is convinced to say or do something he otherwise wouldn't. But, for me personally, all of this supports the idea of Donnie being the third oldest and a middle child.

I have mega ADHD so I forget things easily and have a hard time settling down and doing stuff. I don't remember everyone who deactivates or goes inactive. And I know I should express my love more for people who are currently around--i'd like to do that someday too!! I really hope you just need some time away for your mental health and, if this is something you'd like to continue doing, if it's something you enjoy, that you come back and keep blessing us with your presence. Your Ed is so. Silly and fun and chill and perfect. The video and movie titles you'd come up with are so befitting of his goofy conspiracy interests. You have really captured that old man's essence, in my opinion. Your interactions with Rui were so seamless I figured you were in one of the discord servers and already knew each other and you were just growing and exploring a relationship you'd already practiced in another setting. Honestly everything felt so seamless on your end when I saw you interact with others and when I got to interact with you--Ed was so largely unphased by everyone's shit and distaste for him(up until Towa said he was bad at sucking dick, he was not taking that lying down--) and the way he entertained himself with everyone's affairs. . .he really had the feeling of lying away in his tower, entertained by the humans. 10/10, if it's still fun for you I hope you won't leave us because we will miss you.

@ask-kaito-fuji i didn't get to interact with you much WHICH IS A SHAME. Your Kaito is so cute and he's. Really trying he felt so solid and charming and just awkward enough and I love the way you let him interact with posts that were ooc too because lbr he loves social media! He would be vibing out on tumblr!! It felt like he was this close to realizing he was in the matrix sometimes. Seeing people know a bunch of stuff and going 'why/how do you know so much it's so creepy!!' was delightful, and getting to personally chat with him once or twice was also very fun. 10/10 you brought the party to other people and you captured the character very well. @frostheimking so your blog is gone but not deactivated(deactivated tumblrs have '-deactivated' and a string of numbers on the end of them and you can often still ping them) which, to me, reeks of Tumblr being stupid because I've seen that happen to multiple people before. . . .those are the ones off the top of my head, mostly recent, which isn't to say I don't see or recognize or have appreciation for others not being around a lot or going away(like @/ask-lucas-errant who did answer an ask recently-ish, who isn't too active but that's probably because of lack of asks/interaction; @/shiranami-ren who I figure isn't around much because they draw a lot of their answers and that's a bit more intensive of a way to run their blog--amazing stuff and very much the classic way to do this from the old days, I would absolutely do the same if I could draw; and the Lycas who deleted probably because of inactivity) all of whom have/had great presentation for their characters and handled them well but. Idk. Maybe i ended up posting mostly people 'closer' to me in this context haha. . . .

I wish this fandom was bigger and more active with sending asks and stuff because I feel like that's a big contributor to people falling off or deleting, and I wish I were more consistent with asks and responses and better at sending asks myself because I could be the change I want to see in the world. (I feel like the asks I send have to be, like, good. Like I appreciate getting simple and basic asks but I feel like I need to ask Big Headcanon Questions or something.) But I know everyone's got their own lives and their own things going on so I'm not going to pretend I know what's going on with everyone, y'know? More than anything I hope everyone--active, inactive, deleted, or otherwise--is happy and safe and comfortable where they are and that the ones who've dropped off didn't do so because of anything bad or any kind of discouragement. OK, story time:

You know that in 03TMNT "Good Genes" Donnie is transforming into a supermutant. I had seen the Episode recently. I've made Raph in my own TMNT designs quite Big (Like in Rise) but with the same attitude as 03. My sis said, that she thinks my Raph is too big (she grew up with the small King 12Raph). So my brain put things together and made me dream one of the best dreams I've ever had! The boys were investigating an old TCRI hideout and had to split up. Leo with Mikey and Raph with Donnie. For some reason, Raph and Leo were mad at each other (no surprise, lol) so Mikey tried to calm it down. I followed Raph and Don into an old lab, where they found still liquid chemicals. Donnie got to close and opened one of the vials. Suddenly, they began to bubble, and Raph was only able to shield Donnie from the coming explosion. He got splashed with the liquid, which turned out to be mutagen. Raph screamed and began to change. Claws, teeth, shell, everything began to grow and spike up. Donny fell on his back, and at this moment, the other two brothers stormed into the lab. Leo attacked first, not knowing that "That Monster" he tried to stop, is his brother. Raph struck back and smashed him into a shelf. Donnie tried to explain the sittuation, tried to calm his mutated brother down. Mikey only watched in terror, he couldn't believe what he saw. Raph was out of control, the situation seemed so dramatic, and it felt so helpless. Sadly, I woke up before they could handle anything. BUT DAMN! That's now Canon with my boys!

Aries risings and eclipses: comebacks and rebrands

There's a few celebrities that caught my attention in the past couple of weeks and I felt the urge to look at their charts and talk about them a bit. What I've quickly realized is that… they're all Aries risings and we just went through a total eclipse in Aries and are still battling through a Mercury retrograde (also in Aries). So, this is an Aries rising-only astro news compilation.

Shakira

During the recent Easter break I found myself having a Shakira moment, reminiscing on her old hits and belting out Underneath Your Clothes. I thought that's probably thanks to Mercury just stationing retrograde, which often makes people go back to old stuff. And then I thought… What if everyone's having a Shakira moment now?

And this is when I realized suddenly she's everywhere: giving a surprise show at Times Square, being a guest on Hot Ones, giving a ton of new interviews that flood my YouTube recommend page. She just released a new album but seems like this is a huge reset for her and her name is, once again, on everyone's lips. Shakira is an Aries rising and an Aries Venus with nodes in her 1st and 7th axis - she's not quite an eclipse baby (although almost a Full Moon baby!) but nodes close to her axis may make her sensitive to eclipse seasons. Her ascendant ruler, Mars, is exalted in the 10th house in Capricorn, giving her a slow and steady rise to success and a grounded, solidified place in the public eye.

Interestingly, she received an MTV Vanguard award just last autumn at a time of her exact reverse nodal return, which already foreshadowed things for her.

Her new album was released on March 22nd this year, just a couple of days after Sun ingressed into Aries and a few days before the eclipse. What's important to note that she's also going through her Jupiter return in Taurus. Mercury retrograding in her 1st house makes people and the media reminisce on her career and what she achieved up to this point. Of course a planet retrograding in someone's 1st house can cause a hiccup of some sorts and that happened in her case as well - there was a small outrage surrounding her comments on the last year's Barbie movie and how she and her sons hated it.

Jojo Siwa

Switching lanes let's get to someone that is now talked about in the media excessively but for the wrong reasons and that is… Jojo Siwa. Now, I had to read up on her after I saw people poking fun at the way she's presenting herself but apparently, she was all rainbows and sunshines until she changed her color palette to black and is now calling herself edgy and groundbreaking. She was on Toddlers and Tiaras I believe… so you get the vibe.

Siwa is a Taurus stellium (makes sense with the bows and glitter) with Aries rising, of course. Her ascendant ruler is right next to Neptune in the 11th house, which can bring potential problems when it comes to how she's being received by the public. The badazzledness of the sweet sweet Taurus is amped up by the flashy Jupiter in Leo (opposed by that Mars and squared by Mercury, certainly adding to the loudness of her personality and the, let's say, overall audacity).

The nodes are pretty significant for her as well, as her Sun is accompanied by the north node (really intensifying the Sun's radiant quality) and… she's actually an eclipse baby, being born in the middle of the eclipse season, only three days after a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio. So we have double the strength of having eclipses in her 1st-7th house axis, as well as being an eclipse child in general.

So the "rebranding" seems, well, on brand for her at this time. But again, Mercury retrograding in her 1st house seems to not serve her well, especially given she has it retrograde natally as well. Uranus being co-present in her sign, a bubbly Taurus, paired with Jupiter, which is still a pretty badazzled planet, didn't result in a true 180° switch that she aimed for. In turn we got a somewhat inflated (Jupiter) sense of self and a warped view of things.

But the plus side is that the current Jupiter transit also helped her gain popularity as her video for the new song passed 23 million views on YouTube. Talk about expansion!

Rihanna

Rihanna didn't make a comeback in the same sense Shakira did but she surely made people talk. The singer is allegedly an Aries rising but she also has quite an Aries planetary party with Moon, Venus and Jupiter there as well. And in a true Aries fashion, even if she's not necessarily doing much with her career at the moment, she made sure to remind everyone of herself, especially that she's also in her 1st house profection year so it's all about "ME!" - something an Aries loves.

Rihanna made the headlines by doing a fashion spread for the Interview Magazine. And, to be more precise, by posing in a nun-inspired outfit. The cover photo made some people outraged, while others were sighing in awe. The news broke pretty much on the eclipse (the morning after I believe).

Rihanna dabbles in these high-fashion, obscure themes probably because of the mixture of her Pisces Sun (religious themes? She surely went all-in for the Catholic-themed MET Gala a few year back) and her Aries stellium in the 1st. The ram likes to shock and be bold and sexual but considering she also has Moon and Venus - two feminine planets - in the sign, makes her bold and daring in her fashion choices as well.

Billie Eilish

The last person I want to talk about is… Billie Eilish. I know, I KNOW, you may think "but she's a Pisces rising!". Well Billie somewhat went through a different kind of rebrand and it's that her birth certificate has just been obtained and according to the new info, she is, in fact an Aries rising.

The confusion might be there although if, like me, you see a massive Pisces influence in her, her "new" ascendant ruler is Mars… in Pisces! A corrected birth time is a big deal already, especially given the eclipse and Mercury retrograde - both helped "refresh" her astrological persona and "status" as an Aries ascendant. But that is not all, as on the day of the eclipse Billie announced a brand new album that she will debut on May 17th.

EDIT: Billie is also an eclipse baby! Born just 4 days after a Solar Eclipse. So this is even more fitting.

What's great about this date is that Mars will already be in Aries, probably making her a lot more active. Also, that is only one day before Jupiter cazimi and Venus conjunct Uranus - a great time to release new things into the world. Interestingly, Venus and Uranus will conjoin just a couple of degrees away from Billie's lot of fortune in Taurus. I truly love when astrology is doing its thing.
