Core Gems

So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they can’t hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.

Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realize…they are in some kind of auction…in the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And they…they were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.

Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.

However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.

In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who was…hold on…holding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghosts’ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.

Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.

The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someone’s interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.

Bruce had no idea what happened at the auction, but he could have sworn that some of the gems faintly glowed right before he and Selina were shot. If the necklace was some sort of magical item, then he needed to understand exactly what has been brought to Gotham. It was unfortunate that Selena had taken some parts of the necklace but he utilized his vast wealth to make sure all the other parts ended in his possession. Now he would take them back to the mansion for examination.

#Dpxdc #dcxdp #kizzer55555 ideas #Bruce thinks the necklace is magical. He’s technically not wrong.#When he gets home he immediately puts each gem in a glass container to examine them. For the longest time though nothing happens.#They all look like normal gems except for the main three of the piece. He can’t identify what kind of gem they are.#The gems are perfect spheres with various shades of blue (with hints of green and white) swirling around.#The colors almost look like they are moving in slow motion. Still. Nothing happens as he examines them and no strange events happen.#That is until one day he decided to take the gems to be examined by a professional and a villain attacked.#A piece of building was about to crush him when a wall of ice appeared as a shield over him. After that he took them back to the cave.#Bruce looks up thousands of documents about enchanted necklaces and artifacts but finds nothing. He even calls in favors from JLD.#Zatanna doesn’t recognize them but feels some kind of power coming off the gems however it doesn’t feel malevolent (at least for 2 of them)#(The last gem is neutral.) Also Constantine was unavailable (*cough* hiding from responsibilities *cough*)#The other bats get interested in the gems. Tim has a theory that they are some kind of protective charms. Damian agrees.#(Everyone is shocked Tim and Damian agree on something). So while Bruce is continuing his investigation the other bats decide to do some #‘Field testing’ and take the gems out. Consequently the gems end up saving their lives and they discover a few things they can do like make #The wearer invisible. Intangible. Create green barriers/constructs. Create ice. Vibrate when an enemy is coming. And much more.#The bats fashion them into new individual bracelets/necklaces and think they are the coolest thing. They have powered up protective charms!#The halfas just wish these kids would STOP PUTTING THEIR LIVES IN DANGER! What are they MORONS?!#Most of the ectoplasms they recover is used to protect the bats and nearby civilians.#(Dan also trolls people and is mostly protective his siblings though)#People notice the new power ups. A rougue gets his hands on a gem and tries to use it ONCE to attack something but the gems didn’t respond.#Then it froze the rough’s legs to the ground.#Much time later the gems are swapped between the bats and alternated and have just become a new item in their belt #(batman was not pleased but eventually got used to it and begrudgingly accepted that they were useful. Especially when they save his kids)#They come to a Justice league meeting and Constantine finally sees them.#His mouth drops in shock and he frantically asks where they got GHOST CORES?! And this is when the bats finally realise what they have.#And are horrified to realize EXACTLY what they are holding and that these ‘gems’ were technically ALIVE.#Meanwhile the three Halfas have been kinda chilling but also working their butts off to keep this family alive. It was a fulltime job.

not enough discussion about the gavins' complicated relationship with feminine-coded/beauty products, i don't think.

#for klavier because it's not as direct it's about how we never see him actually wearing lipstick? even though apollo literally attends #a concert of his which is where you'd most expect him to wear makeup. but apparently he just doesnt. or at least not in public #klavier gavin #kristoph gavin #i feel like there are several ways you can read into it. the misogyny/toxic masculinity one is really obvious clearly with kristoph's #singling out of men specifically and klavier's (probably accidental?) condescending manner of calling women 'fraulein' plus his general #mildly patronising attitude towards many of the women in the game (also probably unintentional)#(i think he's trying to be charming and it's coming off wrong to some of them. like ema. and me.)#but i feel like there's also maybe an element of... inherent perfecfionism to it? like both of these products are conventionally beautifyin #products and kristoph while he is open to showing people he uses nail polish specifically chooses one that's clear and missable unless you #see him apply it. he also feels the need to justify his use of it and specifically spell it out as something he chooses to do rather than #needs to do even though duh. that should be obvious.#idk there's just something about his seeming need to take control of that narrative that i find interesting. his need to spin it into a #'there's nothing wrong with my nails but I had the foresight to see that even the smallest parts of my appearance should be kept immaculate #and it's a choice i'm making to refine an already adequate part of my personage /not/ to cover some unsightly defect.' the need to emphasis #that specifically is so. hm. and with klavier i could see it being a case of him liking makeup liking the pops of colour yet being unwillin #to admit to it because he's afraid that other people might see it as him being dissatisfied with his own appearance regardless of if he is #or isn't. or even just perceiving colourful makeup as being unseemly because it's so overt and unnatural.#like i can see this as them both viewing 'real' beauty to be that which is inherent to a person and seemingly effortless #thus somehow negating the beauty which one achieves through cosmetics or other external means.#and if you want to use external means to achieve beauty or neatness or whatever then your only valid options are those which blend into you #natural state. like clear nail polish. or really awful spray tan.#i feel like klavier's less confined by these ideas (if they hold merit at all) considering he actually owns coloured lipstick and he wears #jewellery (admittedly quite 'masculine' jewellery no gems or pearls or anything like that but jewellery nonetheless) but i think it just #makes it more interesting that he doesnt seem quite able to cross the line anyway. like it's that ingrained into his system.#anyway that's all i've got. you guys should tell me what you think too #annotations

i saw this tweet and found it interesting for two reasons. one is that some people base how good cartoon network would be to toh by how it treated su, and despite the fact that su’s treatment by the network was considered poor at the time, now its thought to be exceptionally good in comparison to modern shows.

two is how exactly su got impacted by a limited budget. a common criticism is how characters like connie, peridot, and lapis are left out of missions. but balancing a lot of characters is not only hard but also costly (extra animation, extra voices—it’s been revealed that the show is limited to a set number of characters per episode otherwise they’re over budget). animation mistakes are not uncommon since retakes cost extra. the entire reason the original show got cut short was due to loss of funding!

#i don’t know if pay rates differ per networks #but a.ivi and s.urrashu have said that they needed to work outside of su in order to make sufficient funds #it only makes me wonder what other ways su suffered from a lower budget #that we as the audience never got to see #in the vein of the too-little characters complaint #another part of that is that low-stakes episodes should’ve been abt the main cast instead of the townies #like last one out of beach city and too short to ride vs restaurant wars and kiki’s pizza delivery service #i definitely see that especially since that isn’t budget related #nor would it seem to be network related (even if cn had an ‘episodic episodes’ quota it could still be abt the gems #(another side note: /would/ cn even have a requirement that the show make episodes that can be watched standalone?#this is a question for the people who were around when su was airing #what episodes often got rerun?#was it the townie eps or the lore eps?#for example i heard that su once did a ‘peridot event’ where they just reran peridot episodes #which had eps that skip around in the show #did they even care about airing the story so that it made sense anyways?#id get it if the low stakes townie episodes were the ones getting rerun))#but i have such a boring view on that which is i think it’s simply because the creators like townie eps #like in interviews r.ebecca s.ugar has said she’s the type to be really invested in background characters #answers in interviews have been crafted in ways to hide what’s really going on though tbf #prime example of this is rebecca and ian saying the wedding being interrupted was meant to follow the common trope #when later in the art book they said that it was bc cn rejected the ep bc it ‘wasn’t interesting enough’#both could simultaneously be true! it’s a psychology thing though where people make up nice-sounding explanations behind what they create #in retrospect because they want it to be thought out in such a nice way they believe in it #the bigger problem is that not matter how many episodes there are of them #it can be hard for ppl to be invested in the townies the same way they are invested in the main cast #i’m sure that a million writers have made surefire advice on how to get an audience to care about characters #but off the top of my head i think it’s because 1. most don’t have strong motivations to get truly invested in #(exception is ronaldo but people find him too annoying to care about him)#okay i had more points and explanations but i hit the tag limit and idk if anyone is actually reading this so bye

my little headcanon is that despite all the possible negative associations he could have with it, Steven still goes out of his way to wear the color pink because it reminds him of the overwhelming self-love he felt when embracing his seperated self. He might have originally worn the color in a passive attempt to emulate his mother at first, but now it's a reminder of how much he isn't her, and how desperately he wanted to be himself when he fell apart. A comforting thought when he is otherwise feeling self-doubt.

#in fact he moves his primary color CLOSER to his gem half imo with his future jacket #rose muted her pink when she changed and steven similarly wore slightly muted (though darker) tones of pink #the jacket in comparison is bright pink and envelops him like a hug #which i don't think he thought through conciously i just think he finds it comforting subconciously for the most part #steven universe #steven universe future

been fascinated with Finding Frankie today and while I definitely think there's a lot to praise about the game and the story and the characters,, i'm also hella confused as to WHY (not what) things in the story were happening...

not saying it needs like HELLA lore like Poppy Playtime or an ARG like Amanda the Adventurer or smth but even if u think about the story of the game as completely self-contained (as in, it has no effect on the universe it resides within),, some of the things that happen happen for no reason other than they were written that way??? which, again,, isn't a bad thing,, but i'd def like to see some of the plot threads introduced in the game developed more if they do end up making sequels...

!!! SPOILERS AHEAD !!!

things like,, why are there two frankies??? why is one evil (capitalism) and the other one just tries to stomp on you?? why are the mascots sentient or whatever??? were they built like that??? do they have human something inside them (human organs, human soul, etc.) or are they just inanimate objects that have their own consciousnesses of some kind????

who started the game show? who's running it? who created the mascots? who are the people watching the streams? does the government know or is this like squid games? how have they not gone bankrupt previously? how have the police not been notified BEFORE of hundreds of people dying before you arrive?

what is the player's motivation for being a contestant? it seems like your character tried really hard to get that vhs tape... why does frankie get mad at you for "ruining his fucking gameshow" and then turn around when you somehow survive falling into the incinerator (which,, what??? did you use the grindrails?? is that even the player???) and be like "omg let's be business partners buddy"???

how parkour physics work?? (i can suspend my disbelief on this one the most, honestly),, HOW IS THIS FACILITY RUNNING??? IS FRANKIE RUNNING THE WHOLE THING??? are there humans behind the whole operation that you're not seeing?? who called the polices???? why do they never bring that up again??? WHAT IS A NOOB NOOB?!?!??!1 why do they explode why do they do a little dance when ur chasing them why do they have blood inside them i'm assuming its blood cus all the supposed blood in this game is black is it dried?? is it old blood??? is it stylized?? is it ichor of some kind??? what??

maybe my tendency to overthink is getting carried away here,, probably,, but i def want to understand more about this setting bc there's so much that can be done with it, even if it's explained away with silly cartoon logic or something.

I have found a beautiful perfect humble rock specimen that is light yellow with a weird dark yellowy brown lining, somewhat resembling a chunk of smoked gouda cheese... effervescent

#I am still very into trash collecting at the moment and even went out and got one of those grabby sticks for cheap and a little #bucket I can carry around and put trash in. so I am going on walks in nature a bit more (not really to enjoy nature but more to play the #very fun Real Life Hidden Object Point And Click Game that is 'hunt for bottle caps and cans' .. but eh.. whatever gets me out of the #house lol).. anyway.. some nature places near water will have cool rocks #Which I know you're not supposed to take them and I MOSTLY dont.. but every once in a while it's like... when else will I ever find a #gouda rock... I have cleaned up 4 buckets of trash today.. I have helped the environment.. mayhaps.. i could take a One Single Rocke as a #treate... ANYWAY. but yeah. I don't know the names of rocks but there's a rock that's a matte muted marigold yellow sort of #color and I call them 'cheese rock'. I'm pretty sure this one is of the 'cheese rock' species but it just has weird brown coloration #like maybe it got stained or something on one side of it. Most of the other cheese rocks have no markings. though sometimes there will be a #auburn reddish sort of hue on a corner or something.. hrmm.. curious. I also got a Beginner's Hobby rock tumbler and some supplies #so I might try polishing some of the rocks from my enormous rock collection. even though they're all street rocks I picked up from sidewalk #and stuff. I saw a video where someone put random gravel and stuff in a rock tumbler and none of them were Stunning Gems or whatver #but some still turned out cool enough that I would be pleased with the result... OUgh.. I want to post more I need to like do costumes and #sculptures and stuff and be Active On Social Media and think about my Future and Career and how it always benefits artists to keep an #active social media or etc. but I just feel so tired and bad lately. I think the summer heat waves have really exhausted me. I also have #been trying to make new friends + on a weird schedule so I've been socializing and also watching media too much. I notice I always start #to feel this kind of unsettled stress of not making any forward progress in my life if I do that for too long. like 'Okay this week I've #done nothing but meet up with two friends & watch like 10 episodes of tv and only worked on a few projects on the side.. this is HORRIBLE!'#(ppl who follow me here that I talk to on discord: this isn't about you! ok u know that fake 80s horror movie meme that people did on tiktok well aside from the blatant goncharov plagiarism i feel like the idea isnt inherently bad but trying to convince people the movie is real while giving it an obscure and therefore easily googleable name like zapotha is unwise. like goncharov was always openly fake but the video said they want to convince people zepotha is real. too easy to fact check imo.

#if you want to convince ppl this is a real movie you gotta name it like. using the few things that 80s horror titles are allowed to use..#its gotta be some kind of combination of #'night of the (xyz)'. the name of a broad category of monster (demon werewolf etc). smth like freak/creep. massacre.#and/or some event that high schoolers would participate in. prom. graduation. camp. slumber party. etc. bonus pts if its a franchise.#like omg have you seen my favorite underrated 80s horror? Vampire Camp III: Night of the Were-Creeps? from 1987?#omg its soooo good you have to check it out. linnea quigley's best role. don't @ me you know im right.#avpost #you gotta give it a really tropey name so people cant like look it up and find nothing.#at the very least if you name it 'night of the ' people will find a ton of other horror movies and assume it's blocking out the right movie #anyway you dont have to watch the rest of the vampire camp series to understand the 3rd movie bc they explain the lore #in a campfire scene at the beginning. so youll be caught up. plus the second one was really weird and hasnt aged well #the first one is kind of a low budget 1981 gem but the bad dialogue and acting is really hard to get past. pretty good gore effects though.#check it out if you like that sort of thing but the series takes off at the 3rd movie. when they make it more horror comedy.#i think its getting a remake soon. directed by a woman!

btw i probably won't be adding any more role systems to my to-do list unless they follow the original template; where the top three+middle stripes are the system itself, while the fourth+bottom four are for subsets. ill keep using the ones ive been doing but i won't be changing new ones anymore

#tech.txt #i never really liked changing ppls new templates #but i really really need things to be uniform or i get itchy. idk how to describe it #and ik i was really bad at keeping definitions the same at first but i think im doing ok now!#but yeah . changing ppls templates made me feel bad but keeping them the same also made me feel bad #so im just gonna not add anymore unless they're like pupyzu's original template! i think that's the best course of action rn #ill still continue to put my own spin on subsets though! like with the gem ones #or a couple of pupyzu's original ones where i can't find the symbol used or i feel the colors would be better tweaked #but the systems themselves won't be changed!

Every fantasy series I try to get into just leaves me longing for deeper characters and prettier prose 😭 Robin Hobb save meeeeeee

#even though she's the one who broke me in the first place #how do i put up with these stock characters when i know how real characters can feel #how do i put up with utilitarian (or conversely overwrought) prose when i know how warm and poignant fantasy prose can be #my first love was fantasy but my most read genre now is literary #and I'm starting to doubt that anyone else can blend the two like her #or at least it's so rare that I'm just wasting my time and money trying to find the few gems out there 😭#with all that said lol... I'm reading The Poppy War and I'm not actually hating it #I like it a lot better than The Fifth Season though that's a low bar lol #but it's still pretty lacking in what I personally want from character and prose #I'll be surprised if I'm hooked enough to want to continue the series by the end of this book 😔

i started all of these games at wildly different times, took varying levels of breaks partway through each of them, and then finished all of their achievements in the same two days

i don't know what to do with myself now

#buenos dias short people #tunic was like. i played to maybe halfway. took a months long break #when i picked it back up i didnt remember what i was doing so i started a new file and played like a third #months long break. but this time i resumed the second file and played through to the end #the game is very cryptic but starting over gave me a handle on the mechanics and what was important #outer wilds took like four tries even though i knew it would be good i just wasnt hooked #the game is about knowledge even more than tunic like knowledge is the whole deal and it comes slowly at first #but when it hit it really hit. god damn #please play outer wilds #spyro? um. it was good #i don't know that i took any big breaks from it? there were some but a couple weeks at most #spyro levels are not particularly complex. or content rich. and i really felt that 60 hours #playing the whole trilogy all back to back can really burn you out #its a collectathon you're bound to spend a good while just wandering around to find that one last thing you missed #and i didn't know i could left stick for sparx to point out the nearest gems until like halfway through 2 so that was a time waster #im not saying it wasn't a good game but spyros moveset is like. glide fire charge and you do this for three games #until they throw in random nonspyro playable characters in 3 and they all control really bad and weird. but its still mostly spyro #i could have taken big breaks between each game and it would've been better probably but its a collection im gonna roll to the next one

tbh when people say "when will we have this" in fantasy flavor theres usually a webtoon about it

#fair if you dont want romance though #but my point here is that there are a lot of hidden gems and i feel like people write these comics off as like bad #ive definitely used the word mediocre but i mean it with love #a lot of them ARE very similar and maybe not showstopping or grand but you can see the personality of the author/artist #and many of them have small moments that are really good or good ways of doing specific things #some of them are beautiful #some of them have really interesting premises or really good plots #a lot of fans may be annoying but you dont have to interact with them. i dont.#and yeah a lot of them arent very good but thats true of any genre #theres just so much of it and webtoon is easy to publish on of course theres going to be shit that sucks #and if you want to find something good sure you can wait for it to fall in your lap but sometimes you need to find it yourself

Need someone to make a “you wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me” meme but with old school runescape

#GOD it was such a ride #my first ever account got hacked by someone who was doing that ‘runescape censors your password even if you type it backwards’ scam lol #another time i got scammed in a trade #someone pretended they were going to give me this whole set of armour in exchange for some gems i had #then took them back at the last second so i lost my gems #it was just uncut emeralds but i was really upset about it #i hadn’t figured out what to do with them yet so i thought they were valuable #some people there were SUPER nice though #i remember cutting down some trees on a new account; trying to get my woodcutting skill up #and a level 3 person with the default avatar walked up and started cutting down a yew tree. i & everyone else around was shook #someone said like ‘yo are you a bot or an alt or something’ and he said ‘oh i just don’t train combat. i don’t find it interesting’#he had like level 70 in woodcutting and a lot of others but never did combat #i also befriended somebody who was way higher level than me just randomly and we used to talk whenever we were both online lol #i complimented her ‘socks’ (actually boots) and she straight up showed me the dungeon you can go through to get them #which was awesome #and then when the grand exchange opened i lost like a weekend of my life #i was always getting nerfed by random events as well. that was the other thing #i really miss it sometimes. i don’t miss how grindy it was though #i think that was why i liked to train combat. it felt like less of a grind because you could break it up by picking up loot and organising #your loot. i used to always train prayer by burying the bones as well lol #on my best account i had probably level 20 prayer due to this #tl;dr you wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me (2006 runescape)#personal

Well lads, HnK is finally over, cya space rocks

The ending was decent enough, I feel this is one of the rare times I kinda prefer where the fandom was going with the plot versus canon. But it's over, was a bittersweet journey, yahoo

#i woulda preferred that theory that phos was gonna be sensei 2 but their job was fixing that abusive atmosphere with a new set of gems #though thats old news/theory given it was well before we got angel!phos #my biggest gripe was the sheer lack of conclusion to any of the gem relationships #i feel only four maybe got a proper conclusion and that was jade/dia/bortz/cinnabar #though even then cinnabar seemed a bit rushed #we ever gonna get into how cairngorm was still under the thumb of someone stronger than them to the very end?#and never had an ounce of freedom to choose?#or yellow straight up getting dementia from trauma?#or rutile not finding a solution to padpa and just getting lunarian handwave?#antarc?????? just being like 'whack' and nothing else????#what the fuck was going on with the reincarnated baby version of gosche???? why did they get so much focus????#they didnt do anything!#guh its such a gripe

Hey there my whumpers and Tumblr buddies!! Thought I would give you all a quick run down for my future posting schedule!!

Good news, i will have one again! :D

It’s gonna be equally spirratic as the last one. And HOPEFULLY i will move on from the “once in a pink moon” kinda system I have going on rn.

#I’ve been hyper focussed on school and film #bunch of big exams last week #and a film competition today!#sadly my team (of two) aka my one friend and I got fifth. Which considering the competition it really good #But our other two friends GOT FIRST 😆#it’s been six hours since i got home and I’m still reeling. In a good way #the four of us… idk how to explain it #but you know when you find your people. And stuff just starts to click. And even though u feel the smidge of jealousy and sadness of loss #the feeling of pride and platonic love is just so much deeper. That’s the word. Love. I love Then to Jupiter and back. We hugged for like #6mins. Just chatting. Happy for one another. I was trying not to cry happy tears. 😂#they are moving to provincials in a month!
