I would like to share a personal opinion on TechClaw (Roxanne x Eclipse):

I dont want TechClaw to be canon.

TechClaw is a great ship and all (especially with how theyre on par with each other which is admittedly adorable and I see why people ship them!), but being canon in the show? I dont think I'd like that; I would prefer if TechClaw would stay fanon.

Now why say this?

Eclipse seems to be Demiromantic (someone who only develops romantic feelings once they form a strong bond), and it'll be, as per usual, forced when Eclipse suddenly falls for Roxanne who hes only known for FIVE months—not even a year has passed! That just doesnt seem like a strong bond to me which means I dont see how Eclipse would fall for her so easily like this. (←Sorry. I am VERY cautious when it comes to portrayal of sexualities and want to try portray them as accurately as possible, so TechClaw suddenly becoming canon when theyve only known each other for a mere FIVE months doesnt feel right to me in terms of how Eclipse seems to be identifying himself.)

I personally agree with what @nosleepygay (sorry for the @!) says about them specifically: platonic parents. Seriously, look at that amazing, new and fresh dynamic! Platonic parents. Look. Amazing; beautiful. So why waste it? Why waste such a genuinely new dynamic you just made? Its so much more prettier to see a boy and a girl just being friends rather than being romantically involved with each other—isnt that what they argue about sometimes? How a girl and a boy cant just be friends?

Roxanne herself said that she didnt have to be the kids (Andrew, Andy and Jake) mother to take care of them (it was this ep I think), so why just disregard her words? Especially so far into the lore?

SPEAKING OF LORE; why a romance subplot now?

If TechClaw does become canon (which, again, I WOULDNT MIND IF IT DID! if you ship it, thats fine and I support you), I would prefer if it becomes canon AFTER everything is resolved.

Why? Because danger is literally coming; if Eclipse decides to be romantically involved with anyone (AGAIN: I wouldnt mind if he did!), that would be risky.

How? Because not only does he have to manage his new relationship, but he also has kids to care for and teach, and then theres Charlie who he needs to train, Henry who he needs to protect, AND finding Afton. Managing relationships, especially romantic ones, are hard and can get in the way of so many things. (←I am not saying this is the case for most, rather I am saying that now isnt the time for Eclipse to have a relationship with all the chaos thats happened, is happening, and will happen.)

(Again, I am so sorry! I nitpick a LOT when it comes to 'why, how and when' something happens. I know TechClaw will grow on me if it does become canon since StarTools/Solar x Nebula has actually done the same thing! But right now? Right now I dont know if I want TechClaw to be canon with the state of whats happening in their dimension; nurturing a fresh relationship when theres already a storm coming your way wont make anything stronger, especially since you dont know the person that long. ←I dont have experience, but friendships can be the same thing ig?)

Now, I am NOT being ungrateful; I love the work everyone who works on EAPS puts into it and pumping videos to be uploaded daily—its wonderful and I love and respect every single one of them. This is, again, just my personal opinion, so feel free to disagree!

If you ship TechClaw/Roxanne x Eclipse, thats perfectly fine and I support you! After all, I can see why people ship it with how they act with each other and what their dynamic is. By all means, keep shipping it, I dont mind it one bit :3

im working on something else rn but a lil while ago i made a star wars au, so here you go :)

the main idea is written in the corner but imma tldr it(also i dont trust the upload quality of the pic): set in roughly prequel era robotnik used to be a high up republic special weapons group guy and, as a high up military guy, was assigned a jedi bodyguard, that being stone.

once his inventions got a bit too war-crime-y the republic had him jailed and stone (who fell in love with him) breaks him out and they start being weapons dealers

other misc details under the cut

okay so some of these are mentioned in the pic but i wanted to specify/expand/clarify:

stone never really falls to the dark side, that's actually why he couldn't bleed his own crystal (which let's be completely clear he would be willing to do for robotnik), he simply didnt have the hate and pain necessary to do it. he follows robotnik, his devotion and duty to him is what gives him strength in the force(think knights of zakuul)

to go with his brand, also just to show that he could, robotnik made stone a lightsaber with a black market red kyber crystal... smthn smthn your lightsaber is your life...

i went with orange for his original one because

it provides a nice contrast with the rest of his fit

it goes with robotnik's colour scheme

he simply does not have the temperament of a purple lightsaber, i dunno man the vibes are off

for my fourth reason let me present to you a quick clone wars episode concept:

(clone wars intro music)(random quote) UNCERTAINTY HAS GRIPPED THE REPUBLIC! the separatists have captured a republic military research vessel along with its scientists and military generals! it is up to only 3 brave jedi to save them.

(i fucked up the tone of the intro guy by the middle, and also i dont really have a 3rd guy i just wrote 3 cuz it seemed like a number they would use)

anyway gimmick clone wars intro aside

robotnik was forced entirely into the military uniform(including non special gloves) for a special scientific military meeting where "even jedi werent allowed" it obviously being a trap robotnik had a few aces up his sleeve, but even so, stone was told to stay on alert, because robotnik was most definitely getting kidnapped.

so when robotnik misses all 3 agreed upon check ins stone contacts the council(hes already somewhere with a lot of jedi, its not just a matter of "he thought it best to report"(and waste precious time that could be spent saving the doctor?) but "he literally cannot take a ship and leave without it raising suspicion"), he basically tells them something like "we cant waste any time arguing, im going. i am closest to the last reported location" so the council sticks 2 more people on him(if it was an actual episode they would most likely be already established, so we could see a "familiar face" interacting with this new character of stone)

anyway they find where did the seps take them because obviously robotnik chipped himself.

with the correct password(that only stone has(not that he knows that hes the only one)) robotnik can be tracked even through hyperspace(not exactly, but it at least gives a general quadrant of space, which ofc after leaving hyperspace gets pin-point accurate)

they get to the base, they sneak around trying to find how to get to the prisoners(because its nice that they have robotniks coordinates to the tenth of a milimetre, but they dont have the base blueprints)

during the dramatic peak of the ep, there's a weirdly menacing moment where the mild mannered jedi knight, that was kinda made fun of the entire episode for being "reduced to an errand boy" can actually swing a lightsaber around pretty well.

and then he unties robotnik, helps him up, asks if hes alright("of course not, imbecile! what took you?" "the tracker wasnt as accurate while in hyperspace as you theorised" "hm. well in any case none of this would happen if it werent for this stupid uniform" "i have a change of clothes prepared for you in the ship") aaannnd the errand boy is back

fast forward, robotnik was both arrested and freed, is now doing his own thing.

the two knights that were with stone in that "initial episode" are snooping around one of robotnik's labs, investigating this new arms dealer. they're on a terminal of some sort and behind them out of focus of the camera a bright orange lightsaber ignites, contrasting sharply against the red/blue tones of the lab.

"you aren't welcome here." the former jedi knight says.

but i wanted to talk about the idea that everything that u experience is because of ur mind and that goes into how you interpret things as well. so lets talk about how u can protect ur peace through ur reactions.

CAN WE NOT? ;

first, lets remember that everyone experiences the world differently and reacts to things differently from each other. based on subconscious belief, self concept, upbringing, trauma etc. therefore everyones perception of things is shaped by their own unique brain.

for example lets imagine that theres a rly pretty girl and shes rly sweet. the people around her have an idea in their mind that pretty girls are stuck up and mean, so they look for reasons to categorize her and prove themselves right. they look for ways to make her fit into the narrative that they've fed themselves…💬🎀

i give this example to show that peoples judgement of u is based more on them and their subconscious beliefs more then it is about you. period. someone else's problem with u isnt ur business. when u persist in a belief whether its consciously or subconsciously your reality will prove you right. your literally manifesting a belief that doesnt serve you so can we not?

PROTECT UR PEACE BY NOT TAKING THINGS PERSONALLY ;

taking things personally means, misinterpreting someone's thoughts/actions and believing them to be targeted toward us personally…💬🎀

this is particularly dangerous to our peace because when u take things personally you'll start to adopt what other people tell u about urself as fact. if someone calls u dumb then ur gonna believe them and think that something is wrong with you when that isnt the case.

if u know that ur actually rly intelligent and someone tells u that ur dumb, you won't care because you know that ur smart and you know that they're just projecting their beliefs unto you. you make the facts about you. not others.

YOU DECIDE THE FACTS ;

for a fun journal exercise i want you to write down the facts about yourself (u can also write down new traits that you'd like to manifest and make fact about urself) so open ur diary to a fresh page and write an about-me page. fill the page with positive facts about urself and who you are. these are the facts and if someone tells u otherwise, fact check em.

BE GENEROUS ;

people spew some crazy shit when they dont like you or are envious of you and the best way to respond is to first, not respond at all because they dont even deserve to get a reaction out of you. but if ur lowkey petty, add onto their accusations to make them look dumber.

like if they try to clock you about something and accuse u of something, make the accusation WORSE. ofc with nuance but have some fun with it sometimes.

people can't shame you for made up accusations if u dont care and if ur living in ur truth and therefore their agenda to try and bring u down to make themselves feel better is ultimately squashed. dont waste ur energy arguing with people and just keep that peace protected.

am i the only one who doesn't like timebomb? i mean theres nothing wrong with liking the ship i obviously wouldn't judge others for having a different opinion than me, but lots of things about the ship just doesn’t sit right with me personally.

like for example ekko was in the au for only two days (he showed up two days before his au self was supposed to show off his project and left the night before which means he was only there for two days) yet in those two days he managed to fall in love with someone who tried to kill him and has killed many of his friends multiple times? i get that he had an obvious cute little crush on her when they were kids (if you pay attention it was pretty obvious and also kinda cute) but that wasn't long lived because she literally switched sides after that and for the next 8 years they weren't in contact (not much contact other than her trying to kill him or/and his friends anyways) like idk about anyone else but i personally wouldn’t fall in love with the person who killed many of my loved ones let alone falling in love with that person within two days that’s just impossible. i understand that he probably still had some lingering feelings for his universe's jinx and that’s why it was so easy for him to fall in love with au powder in just two days but in my opinion it's still too rushed and unrealistic. i couldn’t even begin to imagine myself falling in love with someone who simply talked bad about me behind my back let alone someone who’s killed my loved ones and has tried to kill me too.

i like the IDEA of them like two former childhood friends turned into enemies who are lovers in a different universe and only one of them obtains the knowledge of the fact that they’re lovers in a different life, and so the only one who knows is left yearning for that kind of connection in their current universe as well??? Like that’s such a good trope. normally i’d eat it up, but the way it was portrayed messed it up for me personally, so now i’m left only liking the idea of the ship but not actually fully liking the ship itself, and i don’t think i ever will tbh.

now this is just my personal opinion i didn’t make this post as an opening for people to argue with me or try to change my mind in the comments nor did i make this post to bash anyone who likes the ship since its an overall nice trope and they’re conanly together so i dont see why i’d bash anyone who likes this ship i simply made this post to see if anyone else agrees and to just share my opinion and simply yap on MY blog cause i can do that since its MYYYY blog (saying this for the sensitive people who will try to attack me)

Any tips of all the turtles characterisation? I'm struggling with Raph and Leo, and recently realised how hard it is to write Mikey and make him an actual person. With Donnie, it's a bit easier because he's Donnie- he has got clear character in the show and every one of his actions can be linked to his family, etc.

i just write leo making decisions that make the situation 3000% worse, before immediately locking the fuck in and doing the most emotionally intelligent, competent thing that he possibly can. it actually really aligns with how he operates in the show. he bitches and he fights and he goes down kicking and screaming and then he fixes it perfectly fine. you have to drag him by the ankles into making responsible decisions. usually through the mud. and even then he'll WHINE ABOUT IT the whole time. leo hates being honest and he loves lying. i think it's funny how much he loves lying. this is probably why literally every single time i write him i make someone mad at him. like there's always people yelling about leo being stupid in my comment sections. being clever just does not make him free from his own stupid biases i guess lmao.

when it comes to raph... ive written up a paragraph and deleted it like 5 times i genuinely dont even know how to describe it. but all i can really say is that dont let the maternal figure gentle puppydog endlessly patient raph characterization in the fandom drag you down because i think there's a lot more fun to be had with how testy and impatient he is. he always feels like he's running after them all and he's exhausted with it, especially because he's not good at making decisions on the fly. arguing and shouting is how he handles his stress. i put him in a lot of situations where fear can kind of cancel that out but those are also usually ones where he's not the one taking the lead. i feel like he just clashes so hard with leo because they dont like to listen to each other, and both of them hated being called out for shit they actually do. LIKE WHO TOLD YOU. raph will come to important conclusions on his own but usually if you try to argue with him he'll just double down lmfao. also take your drafts and make raph at least 10% sillier trust me it always helps

detailing what sexuality i think the saiki k characters are for no reason other than its fun

saiki: probably doesnt use labels but if he ever did, biromantic and a-spec. which i honestly think is as "canon" as it could possibly be without directly saying it. hes implied to be feeling SOMETHING towards teruhashi close to the end and is at the very least attracted to her, and he definitely has a crush on satou and outright puts them in a who-likes-who chart. he had no reason to include himself in the love triangle chart if he wasnt involved in it 😭 i dont at all think asou was trying to write a bi-ace character and im aware him liking satou is a gag, but gags are generally canon in saiki k or at least have some lore behind them. i might even say that hes some form of demiromantic ? definitely lines up with his feelings for teruhashi, and i know he doesnt know satou well but hes literally a psychic so "knowing" a person is a lot different for him so i doubt you could describe his sexuality so simply. and these two are the only people he ever shows any romantic interest in AT ALL.

teruhashi: bisexual, also probably as canon as it could be without being canon 😭 she definitely does love saiki towards the end, shown pretty obviously by her expressing she would rather be with him even when hes just sitting there (canonically what he always does) than be with someone rich or talkative. she was also so clearly attracted to aiura, argue with the wall. saiki is her first and only actual crush and before that she literally pictured herself just marrying some rich guy she didnt care about, so i would argue she was probably dealing with some form of comphet although its still mostly because she couldnt picture herself truly opening up to anyone yet

akechi: queer, and i picture him going into long rants about why specific labels dont fit him but he probably knows a lot about them. we get no evidence of his sexuality other than his attraction to teruhashi (which we do know for a fact depends on sexuality because anyone who is canonically or presumably not attracted to girls does not show attraction to her even if they do have a short reaction)

aiura: bi, no gender preference. she was definitely also attracted to teruhashi and does not once point out anything about her gender so im just assuming she doesnt care. also barely reacts when mera implies shes going to have sex with her and just says "looking forward to it"???

kaido: straight but i could see him being flexible, maybe bi with a heavy preference for girls. in canon he obviously sees girls as potential partners and does not see guys as such (see: second half of chapter 232)

yumehara: straight but i can see her being bi with a heavy preference for boys. only attracted to guys in canon but theyre very immature crushes which always start surface level, evidenced by her surface level attraction to takeru dissipating when she got to know him. her crush for kaido is genuine though, it starts out surface level but she clearly sees and likes him for the weirdo he is considering she even adapts some of his chuuni-isms 😭

hairo: probably acearospec and maybe pan ? in canon, hes never felt attraction before or at least isnt aware if he has, but i would argue that what he feels for nendo is the closest thing hes ever had to a crush

kuboyasu: bisexual. we only see him being attracted to teruhashi however his reaction to that makes me think that doesnt happen much?? i know it was because hes used to being good at controlling himself but hes the only character other than imu that is confused by his attraction to teruhashi

toritsuka: straight but would kiss a guy if hes feminine enough, in a not gay but desperate way.

nendo: no label, probably doesnt care very much about gender however he is an enjoyer of tits so...

Like, Ren wouldn’t be put off by someone who is very anti-social and doesn’t want to go anywhere, since he also prefers to just stay in his room, but someone like Kaito, who likes going out places, would probably be disappointed by that.

Haru, being so busy, would likely struggle with a clingy partner (we literally see that be a problem with Towa) while (speak of the devil) Towa would have no issues with that because he’s just as bad, if not worse, when it comes to that.

jin can tolerate someone who is more of a shut in but he cannot tolerate someone who is sneaky or materialistic. i’m sure you can understand why!!

tohma can tolerate someone who is stubborn or angry. he can’t tolerate people who are nosy or ask too many questions.

luca can tolerate a lot of things actually. he’s a very sweet guy. i don’t believe he would tolerate people who constantly lie, or someone manipulative.

kaito can tolerate someone overly jealous (he might find it flattering, a least in the beginning) but he can’t tolerate someone who is overly independent and doesn’t need him around. it’ll drive him crazy!

alan can tolerate someone who has a temper or someone lazy, but definitely not gullible. it’s not even because he hates gullible people, i just feel like that would be a horrible match overall...

sho can tolerate a temper, an attitude, liars, but if you’re an arrogant person who is rude to wait staff he’s not fucking with you at ALL.

leo is easier than i expected. i dont think he likes people who are meek / ignorant, especially if they’re well off and have had things “handed” to them. on the flip side, he admires hard workers and ambitious people, but thats not really a flaw... i dont think he’s be put off by materialistic people or people with a temper.

taiga could handle someone greedy for sure. he might blow you off sometimes but he’ll come through. i think he really admires headstrong people, but he thinks meek people are cute. the only way to piss him off is to be arrogant enough to believe you can outsmart him or something T0T

romeo...he can smooth over any situations you fumble in if you’re awkward, but that might irritate him. pretty sure hes also canonically irritated with mc when she asks for his input in episode 8 without providing her own first so ??? that too??? he’d do well with someone sneaky and crafty though. IMPULSIVE TOO.

ritsu can tolerate the flaw of being meek. he likes taking charge and wearing the pants and being the big man who plans the stuff, so someone who sits back and doesn’t really offer up their opinion could do well with him. also indecisive!! because he’ll just decide for you. as for NOT tolerating, he couldn’t mesh well with someone who blows off their responsibilities and doesn’t take him seriously. they should be a hard worker too.

subaru would be bad with someone judgemental point blank. good with someone argumentative i think. they’d said what he feels he cant and it’d be a relief somehow.

haku would be good with someone who is nonconfrontational because he’ll swoop in and handle Whatever. i would argue he’d be good with spiteful people too, he knows how to calm them down. he’d be bad with someone pushy or nosy though.

zenji would be bad with someone who is pessimistic. i think he’d try his best to be positive but every optimist gets water logged when the pessimist goes too hard. he’d be fine with someone who is just plain odd, though! someone who doesn’t fit it anywhere (not really a flaw? but yk)

edward wouldn’t mind someone who has a temper he’d think its cute if anything T0T super easy to resolve fights with him. i dont think he’d appreciate someone overly arrogant though. like if they got Too comfortable. he’ll remind you that he can kill you.

rui would be a blessing if you were a paranoid or anxious person! he knows just what to say to soothe you and would never get irritated about it. he would not vibe with someone who disregards boundaries or simply just does not listen though.

yuri can’t handle someone argumentative who would butt heads with him about stuff TT0TT a flaw he would be able to handle is someone awkward and oblivious. gullible too. he’ll call people out if they’re messing with you.

jiro could vibe with someone with a fragile ego / who is overly sensitive. most things fly over his head, so if you’re more awkward then he most likely won’t even notice.

I'm so tired of the degree holders that use it to elevate themselves over others. Do they think people without degrees read books and are completely confused at what's going on? Do they think anyone without a degree read acotar and was completely bewildered when Feysand happened? Or thought "damn didn't see that one coming!" when Nessian got their book. "Damn, should've gotten a degree in literature, or... stem (??)... so i could read acotar and actually understand what I'm reading!"

Like, what are they trying to say? If you think you need a degree to understand acotar the only thing you're saying is that your are vastly overthinking things. Even sjm said its obvious. That does not mean "you need a degree in literature to understand where I'm going here". It means "anyone should be able to pick this up because that's what I intended". This isn't high brow literature. Because it's not supposed to be.

Feysand, Nessian and Elriel are all so thematically, narratively and symbolically setup that anyone can read the books and pick up on it if they're not wilfully ignoring or misinterpreting parts of the story. All three, obvious. Without hyperfixated analysis. All three set up over several books and tied to each other and the main plot. Anyone can easily follow the patterns. This fandom is crazy. It has blinded itself to the obvious. If you have to wave your degree around to justify what isn't clear to the average reader, you are vastly overcompensating for something. Might be that lack of canon. But what do I know, I don't actually have a degree (yet). I just read.

I cannot believe there are people out there with degrees in literature that will be surprised when Elain's book is next and when Elriel is endgame. You did that to yourselves. All you and to do was to casually read and it would have been obvious.

Nah because imagine thinking having a degree makes you and your opinion more superior/right then those without degrees. Its rlly a classist, entitled way of thinking. A fandom is made up of a magnitude of people all from different places, backgrounds, ages etc. Some individuals aren’t at a degree level yet, I’ve just finished college and im about to start my degree now in October. It’s literally embarrassing bringing up degrees or linking degrees with certain ships, *cough* making a poll asking people if they have a STEM degree and which ship they ship and showing how the majority ship gwynriel aka indirectly insulting elriels/elriel by indicating “smart” people ship gwynriel, *cough*. ACOTAR is basic fantasy. Thats not an insult towards Mass, its the simple truth. Everything about acotar is predicatable, it literally follows the same generic formula as other series. Love triangle switch. Trials. Fmc who died and comes back alive w powers. The foreshadowing is blatantly obvious, it is the way it is. Its simple and straightforward. Gwynriels and eluciens overcomplicate everything, they think too much about certain scenes whilst ignoring others. Their interpretations are so contradictory and out of place.

One could fairly argue, that those with degrees overthink too much about the series because when you’re studying at higher levels, complex analysis is expected from you because you’re studying in-depth, intricate stories that have layers of meaning. Acotar is not on par with those pieces of literature, no deep analysis is needed. You dont need to think that much about it because Sjm is a simple writer using generic fantasy & romance formulas. So again, degrees are useless in this case, if you need to bring them up as a way to hold yourself higher then everyone else and make your opinion seem more well-rounded and “valid”, or even make your side seem smarter, you’re honestly just embarrassing yourself.

and its going to be even more telling and humiliating when elriel is endgame. That even with your “degree” you failed at connecting simple dots. Leave degrees out of the conversation all together.

Yes! Feysand, Nessian and elriel all follow the same pattern. Mass isnt doing some ground-breaking, complicated foreshadowing trying to trick her readers. She said it was obvious because it is. Anyone familiar with the romance genre can literally see how elriel follow a generic romance recipe. Its so on the nose - something gwynriel and elucien arent, more so gwynriel because that ship has 0 romantic foreshadowing or even base and before each couples’ book, a romantic base was established.

Im with you on the no degree boat yet Im also constantly reading especially romance books so when I first read acotar, everything was obvious and predictable. It all follows the same steps as other series and books. It was genuinely shocking people doubted Elriel because they had the same set up I’ve seen before in books.

Honestly, bringing up degrees - you’re just digging a hole for yourself because when you’re proven wrong….yh. Its going to be humbling, simply put.

why i love the edwin-crystal sibling like relationship from memory and why it makes me love crystal even more

there simply isn't enough online about 1. how awesome crystal is as a character and 2. how awesome her and edwin's relationship is. so imma dump all my thoughts here from pure memory.

ep1: so yeah, they start rough. but when jenny points out to crystal that she's so focused on her own problems that she's ignoring everyone else's, just like how she said the boys did, she resolves to change that. she realized she was being unfair because it was pointed out and she decided to try and be better. when edwin breaks down, she's listening. she's listening and understanding. she tells this boy, who has not been the nicest to her but she's beginning to understand, that she gets it. that she sees him, that his unnoticed death matters to her. she sees the sharp, jagged, raw and emotional parts of a boy that she'd only seen as cold and logical thus far. and when his unusually timid voice asks if they can focus on becky's case, she agrees. in the butcher shop, she offers to once again explain the internet to edwin. implying that she'd already done so. and she says it without any condescendence. when she's knocked to the ground, edwin helps her up and they sort of cling to each other as charles is reckless.

ep2: not as much here from what i remember but there's still some stuff. edwin does actually commend her actions in luring the sprites out, followed by telling her not to do it again. from an emotionally repressed boy from a time when fixing each other's clothes was the most intimate thing you could do in public, thats quite a big step.

ep3: one of my personal faves. crystal is quick to point out that edwin is jealous of her and charles. she does actually assure him that nothing would happen and its just a small show of her care for his feelings. now, in the house, do they bicker and argue? yes they do. but i would argue that most of that is fueled by their anxiety and fear for charles. when crystal points out that charles has issues, he ultimately listens. its shown immediately the next ep when he tries to be better and offer himself as a safe space, something he wouldn't have thought to do without crystal's guidance. when they actually work together, its incredible. crystal literally fights her own personal demon to get back to the boys. edwin is trusting her enough to openly admit that he has no idea how a vhs works and trusts her to put in the work to save his person. when she's in danger, he pulls her out because he cares and she's given him reason to. she doesn't question when she comes out from her own head and edwin immediately asks for help, something he almost never does. when she talks about how she's a bad person, edwin immediately tells her that she isn't. he wastes no time in assuring her that she couldn't be anything but the person she is now. she also points out the moment charles' mask goes right back up and offers a lot of insight to edwin. because edwin hasn't really had a friend before charles and charles was already doing this when they met. he had no reason to think that it wasn't a normal thing. but crystal points it out and he notices, he listens and he learns.

ep4: this is another one i dont particularly remember much of these two from. the ep starts with edwin asking if charles wanted to talk about his father, something he never would have done without crystal's guidance. when edwin tells crystal and charles to go off together, she asks him if he's ok, which in the moment, is said in a somewhat joking tone. but once he's gone, she asks charles about it because she's concerned about him and she knows him well enough to know something's wrong. when she's angry that the washer woman didn't give her an answer, he apologizes genuinely because he does want the best for her.

ep5: this ep starts off with a lot of emotional maturity from crystal. she admits that she isn't in the right space to start a relationship and i'll be honest, i hadn't seen that from a show before. made me love her even more. one of my favorite moments of the show is them haunting twitchy ritchy. when he makes deprecating and homophobic 'jokes', crystal is quick to shut him down. and i would argue that she knew edwin was gay, i'd argue for hours. she notices his distress and immediately shuts the dude down, and hard. in return, when ritchy tries to be intimidating, edwin is the first to step in. he extinguishes the flame with a satisfied lil smirk and crystal didn't even have to look over to know that he would step in. and we don't really see it, but i'd bet watching edwin do childish little haunting things probably made her smile. it's a scene i think about all the time. when edwin shoos them away from the summoning and charles questions his choice, crystal sticks up for the decision. its small and unintentional, but there is an aspect where she admits that he's right. something she wouldn't do if she didn't like him and respect him. and when edwin realizes that marin killed the jocks, he's rushing out behind charles. hell it looks like he's pushing him forward to get them downstairs. crystal emphasizes at the end that she sympathizes with the boys, that it was a shitty thing to have in common that they were all victims. yet she offers her sympathy nonetheless. and when edwin says he's had enough emotion for the day, she isn't offended that he wasn't receptive or anything like that. she just smiles, knowing that he really can't handle a lot of emotions and she knows that he doesn't mean anything negative by it. she shows that she understands him and that she doesn't judge who he is.

ep6: when crystal loses her powers, she's scared to tell edwin. she says that she's afraid that he would consider her useless and toss her aside. but that stems from the fact that she really values him as a friend and is scared of being abandoned by the only people she has. and when edwin finds out, he is shocked sure but he's also concerned. he insists that he wouldn't have left her behind and she tells him that he would. its an emotional moment for her and i wouldn't write off that she's just really defensive in the moment. when she sees the boys in trouble, about to be dead-dead, that's when she regains her abilities because she cares about both of the boys and gods be damned if she's gonna let a witch tear them from her. and as the walk back, she leans into charles because she knows edwin doesn't like touch. but he's still right behind her, still nearby and offering silent support. and he goes the step of naming one of their plans after her, plain and simple. she shows her appreciation in the same slightly sarcastic tone they use with each other all the time.

ep7: so many thoughts. the second she finds out that edwin is in hell, she's already resolved to go get him. she has known the boy for a few weeks at most and she cares so much and is so selfless that she doesn't hesitate to volunteer to go to actual fucking hell. when she's told she can't? she tracks down her abusive demon ex who has literally tormented and plagued her mind nonstop. she walks right into his domain and demands he open her a door to hell. literally demands the person who has ruined her life to let her into hell to rescue her friend. when he refuses? she's ready to throw hands and doesn't hesitate to do so. and when the boys come back? yes, she does hug charles and not edwin, but she knows that isn't his thing. but when it cuts back to the teens after the night nurse speaks, you see her arm falling from edwin's. even though he hates hugs and she knows it, she still reached out and held his arm to show how happy she was that he was there, that he was safe. because even though he doesn't hug, she still needed to show him she was happy he was back. she talks about how she fought david and edwin expresses surprise and concern. her retort? 'it was the funniest thing. my friend got dragged to hell and i just had to try and help him.' she doesn't even think about hiding how much she cares and edwin's little smile just confirms how much it means to him.

ep8: when she's recovering her memories, edwin is there. he's watching over her with charles and that just hits something in me. he must have spent so long in the dollhouse exhausted, hoping someone would watch over him so he could be safe and rest. and when crystal is vulnerable, he's doing it. he watches over her as she calls her parents and the second she says that they didn't care, he is insisting that there must be some kind of explanation. every time she wakes up after eating the memory orbs, he rushing to her right beside charles. and i'd bet my bottom dollar he was stressed the whole time she was out. when crystal leaves, edwin does offer her a handshake. she jokes about how he's changed, how he's gotten friendlier, and he jokes back, even throwing in a reference to hell. it's a sweet little interaction and it shows their friendship and familiarity. esther takes the boys and she doesn't hesitate to work a way to get them back. she goes right to the cat king and argues that edwin is her friend and tck should help them because he has personal interest. she charges right into esther's house and already has a plan in place. she spends a minute on charles because she knows edwin's in danger and his screams are fucking unbearable. she offers herself as a distraction so niko can free edwin. when she's pinned against the wall, she scream-pleads for edwin to hold on and it is full of desperation, because she needs her friend to be okay. that scream haunts my mind because she is scared and she knows he is too, and she needs him to hold on and be okay. and when niko 'dies', they are huddled over her body and mourning together. in the end, edwin gives her a professional offer for her to have a permanent place with the agency. and this girl, so naturally full of love and affection, hugs him with a massive smile on her face. because she's been looking for people to belong with and she's found em and they want her around. and she's gonna do anything she can to hold onto them, come hell, demons or high water.

basically, crystal is beyond amazing and her sibling relationship with edwin is my favorite. if you don't like her, argue with the goddamn wall.

Saw someone say that people who have "limiting beliefs" such as believing race changing and aging yourself down to date minors is wrong will keep you from shifting. Bitch, explain all the other shifters who have shifted (including myself through minishifts) with said "limited beliefs". Actually, explain anti-shifters who got into shifting because they didn't believe it wasn't real until they shifted.

You could literally claim ANYTHING is a "limited belief". Like for example, murder. I along with other shifters believe that murder is wrong. Does it mean I'm not gonna shift because of that? NO. Just because murder drs exist doesn't mean you should go to them just like how people who are not a certain race shouldn't shift to be another. Or like how if you're an adult, you should leave minors ALONE and not shift for them. im just genuinely asking because based on everything i believe you are older than me and im looking for guidance and just...idk im scared. growing up on the internet has made me so scared of making mistakes and doing anything wrong because when it happens to others i look up to, its always treated as something they'll never be able to change or improve. makes me feel like imma just be a horrible person forever because i made mistakes in the past.

This is a really complicated question that multiple answers can validly fit.

I don't think, personally, that anyone is irredeemable. I think everyone is on a journey of forgiveness and some of us may need more grace than others.

This is tw// abuse even more than the current topic, but my mom was incredibly abusive. We lived in a very rural area and she had a lot of undiagnosed problems and trauma of her own that created a pressure pot of issues. After I was born, she suffered through full on post-partum psychosis that nearly ended about as well as that sentence implies it could have. She was incredibly violent, controlling, and cruel for years. My sister went no-contact with her the second she turned 18. A significant event occurred that eventually spurned her into seeking real treatment that lasted for years. It's still ongoing.

My sister is also still no contact and I support her decision 100%. Those are her wounds and what she needed to do to get peace should be respected. I decided I wanted a relationship with the person who came out of all that work and, even then, it's been hard. I don't know if she's redeemed herself, and my god do we still have bumps in the road, but I support her for trying.

With Wilbur, how he responds to this is going to really impact a lot of things. I mean, I know no matter how he responds I won't be going on whatever journey of redemption and healing he has to go through. I'm tired and I feel hurt enough. I would think, if he wanted to show he was sincere, admitting what happened would be a great sense of closure for a lot of people who put time and energy and faith into this guy for years.

Not every person that causes harm is inherently evil, but there has to be some kind of knowledge that you're aware of the harm you've caused. No one is stuck as anything forever, life is constantly moving, and most people aren't saying his life is just over. You can work on yourself. You can change. And I'm saying that specifically to you, anonymous.

(Saying this, actually, there ARE people who would argue once you've done x you're beyond redemption based entirely on their life experiences as a victim, personal histories and many other factors. Kinda like my sister, that's their choice. And you have to accept that sometimes you fuck up so badly that you will permanently lose some people from your life. But your life isn't over.)

But I do think, regardless of what he says or does about this, his time of controlling a large platform is at an end. He can still do a lot of things in his life after he works on himself -- editing, song producing, directing, writing or whatever -- but being in charge of a large impressionable audience that could enable more destructive behaviors is just not it.

rafayel felt an agonizing amount of pain on his left knee, waking him up from his slumber. it wasn't unusual for him to feel discomfort there when walking, but he never had experienced this, it felt foreign.

his brain was spiraling with a million thoughts as he tried to make sense of this, fearing that the cause of this was her.

as quickly as he could, and in a very clumsy matter, he reached for his phone on the nightstand. 12:08, she should be at work. he didn't know if that relieved him or made him worry more.

the pain became stronger, as if needles were constantly stabbing it. moving it didnt seem to make any difference to the amount of pain, not what he usually experienced when he had bad knee days.

a grunt could be heard on the other line

"kinda busy yel!" the familiar sound of her gun shooting was heard in the background

"did you hurt your left knee?!" he said frantically

"thats totally not an oddly specific and not a creepy thing to say out of nowhere" another gunshot "yeah i did- how do you... nevermind, can i call you back?"

"yeah, yeah for sure. just, please, stay safe"

the call disconnected, a deafening silence. rafayel took of his shirt and went to the bathroom mirror, the pain once again didnt seem to react to his movement, just a constant. the image of his reflection confirmed his theory, his bond mark glowing.

"ugh... fuck."

hours later, the sound of his number pad lock being unlocked drew him away from his thoughts, as a very agitated mc entered his home, throwing her bag onto the kitchen counter halfhazardly. he would coo at the domesticity of the action if it wasn't for the situation they were in.

"okay, what kinda lemurian bullshit did you pull?"

taken aback, rafayels eyes widened as he guided mc to the couch, raising her left leg onto the foot rest nearby, "i didnt do anything!"

"it sure felt like i was dying" rafayel muttered, pouting.

"clearly it only bothers me if its a very significant injury, which I really hope you don't get. I wont stop you from doing your job, we'll figure it out as we go, okay?" he geabbed her hands, a reassuring smile on his face. she looked back at him warmly "alright, get me some ice"

hiiii i have some word vomit to do about this so bear with me or stop reading

1- if you dont know what condition raf has, its been said to a lot of time in canon that he has a hard time running, walking, standing, his resting posture even shows that he puts more weight on his right leg. he is also going blind 🤓☝️. i want to explore him losing his senses and abilities due to this undiagnosed issue and starting to feel more from mc from the bond. it is said that his senses are now focused on her, this is probably not what infold meant.

2- lately ive been dealing with my own health issue, to get better i have to do stuff that cause me the same pain that my illness does so i dont take care of my self much which i know is bad in the long run. so yes i am projecting onto yel leave me alone 😔

3- i think this might be a series! i want to explore other senses, not necessarily angsty though!!!!! i love fluff. life is way too dreadful to not have a bit of wimsy writing about two fictional characters
