the thing i think a lot of people don't realize is that the usa will always support isreal because it is an allied nation with strategic geography relevance to both the military and the oil industry. <- this is a gross over simplification and a tldr but it's the gist of the matter

the president of the usa has three roles: the person, the party affiliate, and the figurehead. with regard to isreal we have to consider what joe biden believes, what the democratic party believes, and what the the figurehead believes, because all contribute to the policies joe biden makes. and when he speaks or passes a policy we have to ask ourselves which of these three faces are doing it. the figurehead will always support isreal because isreal is an ally that furthers usa interests

in order to change what the president as a figurehead believes (regardless of who is in the role) means changing the zeitgeist of the usa to be either more moderate or more pro-palestine, whatever your personal value is

changing the zeitgeist means enacting grass-root efforts (eg, protests and educating your local community) as well as voting for elected officials who share your values on the matter (in order to influence congress)

additionally, it means supporting the ICC's request for arrest warrants and holding those accused of war crimes accountable. if you live in romania, mexico, or benin you should also see what you can do to sway the opinions of judges iulia motoc, maria del socorro flores liera, and reine alapini-gansou, if anything, as they are reviewing the request

additionally, if you live in usa you should see what if anything you can do to protest sanctions placed against ICC officials

simply pinning the relationship between usa and isreal on biden and using that as a reason not to vote denies the complexity of the situation, shows a surface-level understanding of international relations and domestic policy making, and seeks to reduce your perceived personal agency

Anyways BACKSTORY TIME!

Ivy grew up with a good life until 1st grade, when her mother died things went down hill, her dad went a little bonkers, he was always gone which left Ivy(the youngest) and her siblings Derek(oldest) and Liera(middle) left to fend for themselves until he came back with there step mom, Ivy and her siblings went through abusive and neglect from both of the parents, Ivy never really told anyone and would show up with bruises and scares, Ember(her bff and Gerald older sister(also my sisters oc), asked if Ivy could have a sleep over, her parents didn't care so she did, she usually stays out after dark because of her parents. One day it got bad and she begged Ember if she could live with her(at least for a while) and her family said YES!! oh yeah and when she is in Hey Arnold when she first appears she is in 6th grade(season 1 first appearance, also she is good friends with Arnold and his friends)

Alesseo sets his glass down on the table with such a careful hand that it barely makes a sound. He chooses to stare at the clear liquid inside of it, and the vibrations that carry across the surface of that with every small noise of the room, instead of at the other people at the table.

Though, he can feel their stares on him.

He thinks it was a blessing, in fact, that the original Alesseo’s family was not close to him. That they did not care too much for him to interact overly much. Less interaction means they don’t know him as well as they might even pretend to.

As long as he remains politely distant, it won’t be too difficult to build himself a road of points toward resolving one of the original’s major Regrets.

“You’ll be going back to the university, then?” One of the brothers, the second eldest brother, Dantevius, suddenly asks.

Alesseo blinks and raises his gaze up from the cup. He considers the older man for a moment before dipping his head in a simple nod.

“Yes.” He replies.

“It’s too soon.” Mother immediately intercedes. There is a severe expression on her face that makes her look years older than she actually is. “You just got home from the hospital! You need more time to rest and recover.”

“The exams are coming up soon, so I need to prepare.”

“Mm.” Liera’s lips press even thinner, but she has no way to refute that.

After all, it’s not as if the university will reschedule the annual exams just for one student.

No matter what noble family he hails from.

“Recently, I’ve some investigations that bring me around the university sometimes.” Dantevius continues the conversations amiably, a pleasant expression on his face. Although, he also looks somewhat imploring. “I could…”

There’s a brief moment of silence. Glances are exchanged between family members, but none of them quite look at Alesseo. The youngest looks rather awkward, even.

Dantevius coughs to clear his throat. “I was wondering if it wouldn’t be too rude of me to, ah, stop by?”

Alesseo looks at him, confused.

“And… visit?” Dantevius isn’t looking at him. His gaze is a mask of politeness aimed toward the far wall.

Beside him, the eldest son is looking a little bit annoyed now.

“A few times?”

Alesseo isn’t sure how to respond?

“Ahem. Once?”

“Oh.” Alesseo coughs into his fist, eyes returning to his drink. “I don’t think there’s a rule against that.”

There’s another beat of awkward silence. He glances up. Dantevius is staring at him with a rather intense gaze, sharper at the corners than usual.

Oh! It makes sense, actually.

If Dantevius, who is a rather well-known officer of the knights order’s investigation unit, shows up at the university, it would draw a lot of attention. Too much attention would make trying to investigate whatever case he is on that has to do with the university rather difficult.

However…

If Dantevius, who is an older brother of one of the students of the university, dropped by casually to see his younger sibling for a family visit, then it was much more likely he’d be left alone out of politeness. Which would give him easier access to the university, and thus make the investigation go much smoother.

Alesseo nods decisively. Yes, there definitely is a reason that Dantevius Ardizzone was an up-and-coming super star of the Knights Order investigative unit. It wasn’t just because of his looks, he was actually very smart.

“I’m sorry for not inviting you before now.” He says. “I wasn’t aware that you would want to come. But, I wouldn’t mind if you visited, big brother. Whenever you want.”

Assured that he’s made the correct decision, Alesseo mentally pats himself on the back and finally digs into his meal.

He’s too busy eating to notice the contemplative frown that has made its way onto Dantevius’ face.

Keagan

They're cordial but with a lot of issues neither know how to discuss. Keagan's a bit of a troublemaker, see. He's doing it for attention cause his parents are always too busy for him. While his mother, Eileen, she's the less strict parent. She understands what its like, can empathize with why he's like this. She was a child like him once. Much like her son, Eileen didn't get much attention either. So unfortunately, she doesn't know how to mother. She awkwardly tries to compensate by giving Keagan presents. Thankfully, having alternative parental figures through Shizuke and Fiona's families, his teacher and his uncle and aunt, he's grown to be more understanding of his parents as he grew older. They're both fuck ups but he's come to understand they at least tried. I doubt they'll ever become a close tight knit family, there's just less bad blood than there could've been had he not had competent adults to take care of him.

Fiona

She gets along pretty well with her mother, Bel. Even idolizes her. She was the cool parent who gets it, unlike her uncool glitzy dad. One of the first people she felt she could be open to. Definitely tries to emulate her chill, strong, loyal and the way her mother is often praised by others as a good listener. Definitely more of a momma's girl.

Shizuke

Mild wacky parent - serious child vibes. Shizuke takes after his grandmother the most after all, which includes being far better at house chores than his clumsy mother, Yuriko. She's a cheerful and extroverted person who could get along with pretty much everyone, something Shizuke wishes he was more like. However, for one reason or another, she doesn't get to directly be there for Shizuke in his teen years. In the OG, it's cause she died while in the MLB au, she has to return to Japan for work reasons. He misses her. She's also the reason why Shizuke's drawn to quirky optimistic or overconfident people like Keagan or Blair.

Natalia

Mommy issues, her mother Meryll is the worst. When she got fed up with the role of housewife, she ditches her family, including her three daughters. Very self centered. Yet, a few years later, they meet again and her mother is actually impressed with how talented Natalia is. She takes after her mother after all. Everything exceptional about her, she inherited from her mother. This is why she considered taking back Natalia, though it's only because she sees the girl as an extension of herself. Natalia resents her for only ever putting herself first above her own daughters - she doesn't even care for Natalia's sisters who weren't exceptional enough in her eyes. Natalia has self loathing and abandonment issues because of her mother. It's worse in the OG because she's clearly a sea witch like her mother, unlike her sisters who were more mermaid like their father.

Damien

Granted, I don't really put much emphasis on his mother in particular cause both of his parents are on a similar boat. Vaguely elitist, putting their pride above everything and as their son, it's Damien's duty to uphold their pride. But they'd both drop him like a hot potato when he failed. So he's never close to them. He tries his best to protect his little brother from them.

Zephyr

This one is built on irony. In the OG, Liera is initially presented as some sort of antagonist trying to get her son to sign a magical contract he vehemently refuses to sign, to the point of running away from home. So Keagan and the rest of the group did their best to keep her away from him. Then it turns out the magical contract was for Zephyr to transfer his curse, which was slowly killing him, to her. So she could suffer in his place. It's supposed to be reflective of how Liera isn't the best mom but she is well intended. Liera got Zephyr in her teens, too young to be a mom but she did her best anyway. She resents she couldn't get Zephyr the best life as she and her husband are on the run and could only earn money through theft and cons... Taking the curse for him, she sees it as the least she could do. But Zephyr loves his parents, for better or worse, and wanted to hold out hope he could find a way to break the curse by travelling with the prince. However in the MLB AU, Liera is just terminally ill and Zephyr isn't taking it well to the point of getting constantly akumatized the week he found out.

Blair and Blake

They both consider their mother to be the sun in their lives. A woman who shines as brilliantly as the sun. Bianca is the epitome of their ideals: a strong sense of justice and love for her family. Even moreso in the MLB AU where she's a literal superhero, albeit an unsung one who stayed in the shadows. Blair more openly looks up to her, trying her best to emulate her (however people say in the inside, she's more like her dad). Blake however, is uninentionally more like his mother. As ruthless as the twins have grown ever since their parents died, there will always be a part of them that wishes they could be more like their mother. There's a heavy implication that the twins are attracted to their respective love interests because they see a bit of her in them. Even in death, she has a heavy influence in how the twins are like. Their parents are always at the back of their minds.

I was on vacation with the girls to Ibiza and when we arrived they all had their boyfriends there and on the side there was this guy called Jude, they all kiseed their guys meanwhile me and Jude stood there waving at eachother and that wave changed my life. Jude walked up to me and we talked shit about EVERYONE! Liera took a look at us and the next second everyone was saying how cute we were together and then Freya had the audacity to say "You 2 should date." One second we giggled the next we laughed out loud with everyone confused, Why are you laughing? Toby asked. Bro we just met, Jude replied. I mean Freya is right it's giving lovers. Ican't sleep in the same room as you if you're gonna keep this up, i said acting like Jude wasn't handsome as hell. Well we 4 decided we sleep with our partners cause 2 rooms got 1 bed and 1 room got 2. WE TAKE THE 2 BEDS! We know it ain't like you can survive in the same bed. The last few days me and Jude had a blast, parties for ourselves in our room annoying everyone at the hotel, ignoring our friends. It was perfect. We stod side by side brushing our teth then we went to go change, Jude got done the fastest. When i came out to the room he had put dirty soil on my bed. Sorry dropped a vase with soil on your bed. OMG JUDEEEE what do i do now? I mean we could share a bed, IF you want to ofc. Oh shut up i have no other choice, he giggled and we fell asleep as far away from eachother.

The next morning i felt that my tummy was heavy, i looked down to see Judes arms on them. Hearing deep breaths by my neck Jude rested his head. I didn't wanna wake him up so i just played with his hair till he woke up. Oh sorry, i always end up in this position. Oh so you tell all your bitches that.
