Putin's Folly
For all his intelligence and military training, Putin has misunderstood his strength. He believed, erroneously, that a small demonstration of violence would convince a free and sovereign nation to submit to his will. He believes himself an exception (an anomaly); that is, he believes he will be the first strongman/dictator in the history of the world to abuse his power freely and not be undone by it.
Everyone has the power to take life; yet no one has the power to give life. It is a lesson every dictator eventually has to learn.
Putin, like many before him (including Hitler), believes he alone can give life to a people zealously loyal to his vision of a free and happy society. He believes he has the answer to the meaning of life - and by it, that he is given the right to tell any other human being how to live his or her life (they/them) purposefully.
He has created so much bad blood, that in his absence (not that many years from now) Russia will fragment itself even more than any other time in history. All his fellow Russian strongmen will feel equally entitled to the throne - many of them will die tragic deaths trying to consolidate power - and none will succeed.
The result will be a full restoration of the Ukrainian territory and Russia partitioned into north and south, east and west.
The world will know yet again, that this story is as old as time - just ask the Romans, the Egyptians, the Persians, the Mayan, the Spanish, the British, etc.

We are getting to that time of year again where we should remember why we're a country...
And if we believe in words like this, we should understand why Ukraine is fighting.

Hatred of the Jews is hatred of the West
The people to whom God spoke at Sinai remain a nuisance to all those who want to sit in the executive chair of existence themselves.

“The years passed, and the fog lifted, and what had been accomplished could be seen clearly. What had looked like chaos, insanity, self-destruction, the concatenation of unfortunate circumstances, the events whose mysterious, tragic meaninglessness had driven people mad, became recognizable step by step as the clear, precise, obvious attributes of the new life.
The fate of the generation of the Revolution was revealed in a new light, logically, without mysticism. Only now did Ivan Grigoryevich begin to grasp that new national destiny which had risen from the bones of the annihilated generation.
That Bolshevik generation of the Civil War period had been formed in the days of the Revolution; where the concept of the "World Commune" held absolute sway; in the midst of the hungry and inspired subbotniki. It took unto itself the heritage of World War and Civil War—destruction, famine, typhus, anarchy, rampant crime. Through Lenin's lips it proclaimed the existence of a Party that could set Russia on a new path. Without hesitation it accepted as its inheritance centuries of Russian tyranny, throughout which generations had been born and had died knowing one right only—"serf right," the right of the master over the serf.
Under Lenin's leadership that Bolshevik generation had taken part in the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly and the destruction of those democratic revolutionary parties which had struggled against Russian absolutism.
That Bolshevik generation of the Civil War did not believe in freedom of the individual, freedom of speech, freedom of the press - not in the context of bourgeois Russia. Like Lenin, it regarded as nonsense, as nothing, those freedoms of which many revolutionary workers and intellectuals had dreamed.
The young state crushed the democratic parties, clearing the path for Soviet construction. And by the end of the twenties, those parties were completely liquidated, and the people imprisoned under the Czar had been returned to prison and sent off to hard labor. And then, in 1930, the ax of the total collectivization of agriculture fell. And soon the ax fell again, this time on the Bolshevik generation of the Civil War. Only a small fraction of it survived—and its soul, at any rate its faith in the "World Commune," its revolutionary, romantic strength, departed with those who perished in 1937. The ones who survived made their adjustment to the new times, to the new people.
And the new people did not believe in the Revolution. They were not children of the Revolution. They were the children of the state the Revolution had created.
The new state did not require holy apostles, fanatic, inspired builders, faithful, devout disciples. The new state did not even require servants—just clerks. One of the state's concerns, in fact, was that its clerks so often turned out to be very petty indeed, and cheating, thieving types to boot.
Terror and dictatorship swallowed up those who had created them. And the state, intended as the means to an end, itself turned out to be the end. The people who created it had conceived of it as a means to the realization of their ideals. But it turned out that their dreams, their ideals, were merely a means, a tool, of the great and dread state. Instead of being a servant, as it was meant to be, the state had become a grim tyrant.
The people weren't the ones who needed the terror of 1919, who destroyed freedom of speech and of the press, who required the death of millions of peasants—for the peasants made up the largest segment of the people. It was not the people who in 1937 needed prisons and camps crammed to overflowing, who needed the ruinous resettlement in the taiga of the Crimean Tatars, the Kalmyks, the Balkars, the Russified Bulgarians and Greeks, the Chechens, and the Volga Germans. Nor were the people the ones who destroyed the freedom to plant and sow as one pleased and the workers' right to strike. Nor was it the people who heaped up all those monstrous taxes and surtaxes and levies on the production cost of consumer goods.
The state had become the master. What had been envisioned as national in form had become national in content; it had become the essence. And the socialist element, which had been envisaged as the content, had been forced out, reduced to mere phraseology, mere external form, a shell. And it was with tragic clarity that the sacred law of all life defined itself: freedom of the individual human being is higher than anything else, and there is no goal, no purpose in the world, for which it may be sacrificed.” - Vasily Grossman, ‘Forever Flowing’ (1972) [p. 191 - 194]

Lady Liberty
Oh, how the grind is slow
Painfully so, we dig
We dig up, up from the underground
Beneath the mountains of your crime
Achingly, we hid
In the catacombs of your mind
Grinding, digging
Filling you with holes
You send your sheep
To stomp us out
But in the dark
She bares the torch.
They rained down upon us
Like moths to her flame
They descended like a flood
But she never waned
So we grind, and we dig
They've never seen something this big
Coming straight up
From the mountains they made.
Wave after wave
Burned in her flame
Like lost hopeless souls
Drawn to her beauty
To fuel her blaze
You tried to bury her
But we will carry her
Come hellfire or barbedwire
Her flame rose higher.
The ire in our eyes
The beating of stone
The mountain trembles
For she's almost home.

This report focused on Civil Rights and freedoms of children. Children’s Civil Rights and freedoms in Russia are restricted no less than Civil Rights and freedoms of people in general, which are now undergoing a systemic crackdown. However, there are specific restrictions aimed only for the children that severely restrict their rights.
For instance, Russian authorities often justify the adoption of repressive legislation by the protection of children — the LGBTQ propaganda law and foreign agent legislation restrictions are among the few examples. Any dissenting views of children are prosecuted both administratively and criminally, as well as political interactions between opposition activists and underage persons. «Foreign agents» organisations are prohibited to carry out educational activities in relation to minors and produce information products for minors. After the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the authorities started to actively use pro-war propaganda among children and prosecute minors for their pacifist position.
Freedom of peaceful assembly in Russia is de-facto non-existent, specifically for minors who are relatively more vulnerable. Even participation in ecological protests or non-political public events leads to detentions, and participation in mass protests — to administrative and criminal prosecution. Since February 24, 2022 only there are 544 minors detained, and at least 4 prosecuted criminally. Facial recognition technologies are used to target and prosecute protesters — including those underaged. Protests participants also face police violence during and after detention despite their age. Parents are prosecuted if their children were involved in protests, and even when parents protest only by themselves, their children are subjected to discrimination and threats.
Russian authorities also make attempts to prevent youngsters' participation in peaceful assemblies via extrajudicial pressure (especially in educational facilities) and propaganda. However, pro-government and pro-war assemblies are not only permitted for minors, but also organized and praised by the government. The right to privacy of children is also not respected, protected or fulfilled.

I cannot fully imagine life under occupation. And life under occupation by russia... It is beyond imagination how people felt during those long months of occupation, how they fought for their freedom.
One can hardly imagine the entire scale of heroism of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the efforts of all the people involved in making our Victory come closer.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!
Слава Україні! Героям Слава! Слава ЗСУ!

@/RachelPAV: I have been in Ukraine for several weeks now meeting with everyone that PAV supports. Since 2022 we have supported several hundred volunteers in Ukraine with flights and equipment, both civilian and military. These are some observations based on what they report: 1. This is an entirely different war than it was in 2022 or 2023. The drone threat has changed everything. EVERYONE has agreed on this. The situation a year ago seems completely inapplicable now. 2. The needs in Ukraine are almost entirely military. The needs for civilians are drastically less than they were just a year ago. There are some small Ukrainian groups doing an excellent job assisting people when necessary and there is only a limited need for foreigners to be involved. 3. Being issued poor quality goods is still a surprisingly common occurrence. There are still fake tournaments out there. Same with fake NVGs, fake ACOGs, etc. 4. The injury rate and death rate for foreign military volunteers is higher than ever before. There are no signs of this changing. 5. The biggest needs continue to be the very non-sexy and non-exciting needs that have always existed. Car repairs, fuel, rent for the team house, ecoflows, and generators are needed by everyone. Most volunteers express the most gratitude that our donors are willing to help cover rent and fuel as without this they cannot do their work.
This checks out with everything I've read from articles too. Foreign soldiers that come over to fight are taken aback by how different the war is from wars they have experienced where they had air superiority. Then there is the amount of drones. Drones, drones, drones.
The last point is especially true. Check out the Donation Guide Master Post if you want to help out with the "non-sexy" and "non-exciting" needs.
Or if you want to help out a big-nonsexy fundraiser but super needed item, Constantine (aka @/Teoyaomiquu on twitter) has one going for excavators that is approved by Liberty Ukraine. You can find the PayPal link HERE or just click on the link to the twitter post.
Constantine writes"
"Why is this so important? Whether it's for offensive or defensive operations, the front lines have become much more dynamic, with the line of contact constantly shifting. This means new fortifications are urgently needed, but digging by hand is too slow, and our troops can’t keep up. Additionally, infantry units need to construct their own fortifications without depending on centralized units that sometimes misplace positions. This is crucial—it saves lives by providing shelter from UMPK bombs, artillery, and FPV drones. In the video, you can see an excavator donated by @/LibertyUkraineF to the 26th brigade, doing incredible work fortifying a Krab position. I spoke with an officer from the brigade, and he told me this machine has been a game-changer. It has significantly improved their security, reduced losses, and saved countless lives along with tens of millions of dollars worth of equipment. Help us continue making a difference."

I have to be completely honest about something: if any of you have read an appreciable number of my fanfics, you may have noticed that a few of them contain anti-Russia themes. The truth is, I didn't write these fics to discriminate against the people of Russia. I'm just so pissed off by Putin and have been pissed off about him even before anything involving Ukraine, so I wanted to do something to denounce unchecked fascism and tyranny in any form.
Actually, while I'm still being honest, I'm very fascinated by the culture of Russia and other Eastern European and Balkan countries, whether or not they were part of the Soviet Union. My first hope is that any Russian servicefolk currently fighting in Ukraine will realize that Ukraine is not their enemy. My second hope is that the people of Russia will find a way to overcome the autocratic rule of Putin and institute a government that truly believes in liberty, peace and love for its people.

Good morning: Recently destroyed Russian T-80BV, T-72B3, and 1 unknown tank; and, in next four pictures - Russian T-80 main battle tank, MT-LBVM/K armoured personnel carrier, another MT-LB and BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicle, Ukraine, July, 2023. Source: Naalsio26
P.S. Photos of recent battles that the pro-Kremlin and "peace-loving" clickbait media will not show you....! The Ukrainian army, using rather limited resources and not the most modern weapons, is successfully waging war against the army of Russian war criminals... The Russians continue to suffer quite significant losses...
