Tartarus is still a little broken and that's Fun !

#so far playing through all of this i have to say. the no level cap increase makes me feel cheated #with how much questing we're doing and all #iirc they said they wanted to take companion promos seriously but did this whole. Hawkules thing #where you have to get a drop and they eventually needed to increase its rate in this recent update #and if you wanted it without farming you have to pay 10 bucks worth of crowns for it now #you know! to promote a companion! but see you can just BUY a companion in the crownshop using that real money #if you cant tell ive not been a fan of this new promotion method and this is taking it 'seriously'?#granted ive just started tartarus so i kind of want to hold my tongue and see the rest for myself rn #so far these quests are Good and Bad. they definitely went in the right direction but. no level cap kind of hurts.#still feels like we're stuck in one place even though we're moving forward #there's a lot of great concepts and even better dialogue to even out the bad #but at what point do we feel it's worth doing all this effort for. a couple new mid comps and a chance at a main comp promo?#keep in mind all this posting is just my own opinion. i know there's ppl out there that either love or loathe these additions #and i find myself in the middle tbh #i find this story fine and good so far i guess but i don't know if i'm still going to feel this way by the end of it #and yes yes 'be grateful p101 even got updates' while wiz continues to get new worlds and level cap increases. wonderful to be where we are #rambling #vent

hybrids and fantasy races are fun and all that but there is something incredibly potent about the characters who caused some of the vilest things that happened on the server (c!schlatt, c!q, c!wilbur, c!dream...) being plain human

#litchi.txt #hybrid aus are great but I wish there were some that are just... plainly human #granted thatd break the lore in some cases like with cphil or cfoosh or csam #but like.... the crooked mirror it offers the viewer #this is not a 'humans are evil by nature' post btw its just that I am a fan of human monsters #monsters that are just like us but became the way they are because of Reasons #something about them being hybrids often takes the edge off for me #maybe even more so BECAUSE there are magic creatures on the server as well #you have a Literal Demon who did vile things because he got mind controlled #and then theres this Random Guy In Hoodie who did Whatever The Fuck The Plan Was because he just kinda thought it might work #same for wilb like that guy is a rotten human being and I love that about him #its what makes him such an interesting character thru independence and manberg arcs #anyways #dreblr #dsmp

okay, the alcoholism isn’t a skill bit it’s wild he’s an alcoholic in canon. His entire lore is frankly wild, including Rex the Wonder Dog and the fountain of youth plus a court case that examined the implications of him being an animal owning his own business and making contracts. The ape has been in a surprising amount of team ups, from Batman, to the Shadowpact, and is in the regular rotation of Justice League Dark

He owns a magic sword called the Sword of Night, and is sassy with a sort of dry humor. Honestly kind of similar to constantine in some ways.

And Danny should play the Watson to his Sherlock.

I got a government grant from a clean air project for turning in my '97 Corolla for a very hefty chunk of money off of a new (or new-ish) hybrid vehicle from an approved dealership, finally went to purchase my new car today with my dad, and ended up getting a 2025 Toyota Camry SE.

Sorry, Alastor, I think I'm with Vox on the front of technological advancement, ahaha. It's almost a 30 year jump in car technologies and I damn well feel like I've upgraded into the new century (or, well - millennium, technically)! This car does so many things and they all manage to feel like they are actually convenient rather than useless technology bloat. I think this is technically what Nietzsche meant when he said that to live is to suffer, LOL. Can't appreciate the good stuff if you haven't experienced the alternative! Also, y'know. My breaks lost pressure on me in the middle of a winding mountain road with no cell service last month, so. That was the sign to move on.

It's so wild to go from a car that's got a plain metal key, a phone charger operated through the cigarette lighter that only succeeds in making my phone lose charge more slowly, an AC system that would vibrate the whole dashboard alarmingly if it had to work too hard, and music that I played through a casette tape with bluetooth connectivity...to a car where I get in, put my phone down on the wireless charging pad, and watch the touchscreen automatically turn on with my Spotify and Google maps. Never again am I going to accidentally leave my headlights on and drain my car battery, LOL. Thanks, battery-attached jumper cables, you served me well. The car is so damn quiet and smooth, too.

Also, it's a very pretty car! I got it in white. Sorry, "windchill pearl."

Anyway, I'm just experiencing a delightful bit of awe and joy. Happy graduation and early birthday to me! <3

#personal #dear diary #my birthday's tomorrow on the 22nd so the timing on this was great #I was gonna get a corolla hybrid but we straight up could not find one in any of the grant-approved dealerships #and my dad convinced me to go for the camry instead and is helping me pay what the monthly payments are over my planned budget #for the next 3 years until I make attending physician money and can just pay the thing off posthaste #I'm also excited for dynamic cruise control instead of regular basic cruise control #and the safety features have already come in handy for pinging at me when a dude with a moped swerved into my blind spot #getting things squared away at the dealership took many hours so I had no energy to write today but man am I pleased as punch

#a tempest of tea #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #This has a really cool concept and worldbuilding and some fantastic characters!#I like the discussion of immigration and colonialism (I appreciate a story in this niche that’s not so white)#I like arthie and jin’s relationship and Arthie is a great character.#It definitely feels like the first half of a story - like is the arthurian stuff gonna come up more or is it just...#the mc is called arthie and has a gun she pulled out of a stone. Is there more to that lmao. it does end on a cliffhanger too.#The main thing I *didn't* like is that the middle kinda turns into…miscellaneous events purely to facilitate the characters being attracted #to each other. good for them I guess but i don’t care.#(I probably should have expected that based on the author’s other duology so that's on me I guess)#(the romances also feel on the older side of YA)#I also found that the audioboook narrator paused slightly too long between sentences.#I love having author interviews at the end of audiobooks!#which also directly called me out for guessing the obvious twist but not the multiple others directly after #(granted the obvious one I was like... genuinely confused whether it was supposed to be a twist bc I thought we already knew that)#also what's up with the coconut. lol. why that specifically
