im annoyed and a little pedantic so can i just say as a blanket statement
queerbaiting is when the promotion for a FICTIONAL STORY intentionally hints towards two characters having a romantic relationship, without any intention to follow through in the show, in order to get queer people watching without discouraging the homophobic enjoyers of the show
queerbaiting is NOT:
a celebrity who you think is queer because theyre gnc or they have a 'vibe'. that is a real person and they cannot queerbait
two friends of the same gender pretending to flirt with each other for fun. those are real people and they cannot queerbait
a show with two characters of the same gender who are canonically friends that YOU PERSONALLY think would be better in a relationship. that's not bating, that's shipping, and subject to opinion
there are more but those are the main examples of people misunderstanding what queerbaiting is and being mad at something that isn't actually a problem

My local queer bookstore is being threatened with eviction over their free narcan and fentanyl test strips, free store for the unhoused, and free narcan trainings.
Bluestockings is an incredible worker-owned community space that has been apart of the Lower East Side for 25 years. But in the last couple years, they've faced increasing harassment from the wealthier neighbors moving in and complaining about the presence of unhoused people around their store front. Despite all their community work being allowed by their lease, the landlord is pushing for an eviction.
Please help support Bluestockings! Visit them (if you're local), order books online, donate! We need more queer and community-oriented spaces, not another overpriced coffee shop or chain franchise.

Fundraising for transport to Pride Markets
I've got goods, can you help get me there?
Goal is $1000 CAD. Help by supporting my shop?
Please share
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buttons $3 CAD / Toque $35 CAD / Patch $15 CAD
All orders get a numbered bad seal drawing for a short time!!! Limited edition, will be on your order slip!!
I am going to markets in summer to sell my artwork - but also 4 other confirmed artists' artwork at pride festivals. I'm building a queer artist collective and we want to bring queer-created pride merchandise to local markets. We want to directly benefit our local community. I want to provide pride merchandise where the profit goes towards other queer people.
The other artists' work isn't up on our site yet but it will be available at the markets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buttons $3 CAD / Holo sticker $7 CAD
Why:
-I got a microloan for this, but last second my guy had to halve the loan amount. He said he could cover my transport + the requested amount to cover all expenses, but then he had to change it to just the requested amount, last second. I accept the help that was given and am thankful for that. He had other businesses that also needed help.
-My employer ghosted me - long story short. I showed up to work multiple times to find the business closed without any communication whatsoever. BUT they are also a queer small business owner. I will not be seeking anything from them, nor will I go into any more detail about where I was working. Yes it sucks for me and yes it sucks for everyone else affected, but infighting is not worth it, and I want them to do well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Boot patches $25 CAD / Stickers $5 CAD / OG paintings $500 CAD
What is the money going towards?
Gas money. Food money. One more table for the market, button making supplies, trans boot stickers restock. Emergency cash.
Shop link: https://www.queerforqueer.com/
We have 3 events lined up and we're signing up for more.
I will update with progress as we go

The Seven’s sexualities are as followed:
Leo: hot people (pretty much everyone), he definitely had a crush on everyone on Argo 2 like once even if it was for five seconds
Piper: Who Knows At This Point, anyone can be pretty as long as they aren’t jerks
Jason: thought he was straight and is now suffering cause he’s friends with Leo and Piper (not cause he has crushes on them but because they enjoy shattering his world view by asking him if he thinks *insert random person* is hot)
Bonus for Jason: might have a crush on Leo
Percy: Annabeth, not actually but he has her so he doesn’t actually care about finding out.
Annabeth: suffering (refers to the entire paragraph in MOA where Annabeth thinks about her entire love life and the only thing good about it was like three months), but also Percy cause no way he’s ever leaving her
Hazel: a poor oppressed child who didn’t even know Not Being Straight is a thing until now, has a type for the precious ones.
Frank: honestly the straightest one of the group but at this point nobody actually knows

I don't care if somebody was "born a man" or "born a woman"
We were fucking born as babies, I frankly don't care what you were "born to be," so long as you are happy in the here and now. That's what matters more, not this bioessentialist "you're born this way, and nothing you do or say matters more than how you were born"

I’m not sure when exactly this happened, but I think it’s clear that the aro community really is a community, now.
For the longest time I’ve felt like we were still in stasis, not quite there; a proto-community, yes, but not quite a community. But we have more history now to lean back on, more of each other to talk to and laugh with and cry with and learn from. More people that’ll go forward and make a part of modern aro history. More people that believe us, believe in us, will stand with us if we ask them.
I wouldn’t consider myself an aro elder yet, though each year I’m surprised at how long aromanticism has been a part of my life, how long I’ve been free of doubt or insecurity about my aromanticism, how far we’ve come since I was questioning. Then again, when I was questioning, some of the people I looked up to for guidance were probably close to the age I am now, so I might be there sooner than I think.
And, I’m so so hopeful for all aros, young or old, new or not, because we’ve come so far. Day by day, progress is slow (and yes, it’s unfair, it should be so much faster), but looking back it feels fast. We are our own role models, the people we look up to for guidance. We carve our own path through life, making things up as we go. I used to find that terrifying, because I had no idea what the future would bring. But it’s actually amazing, because I can ignore all these silly “rules” and guidelines about what my life should be, and instead ask, “what do I want my life to be?”
Younger me, you have no idea how awesome your future is gonna be. I’m sorry about the pain and hardship you’ll go through first; it won’t be fair and you shouldn’t have to deal with it. But you’ll make it through, and one day you’ll be me. I can’t wait for you to get here.

"Shopping for clothes is already intimidating. There are so many options and styles to consider, as well as factors like sustainability and ethics.
But for people in fat, disabled, or queer and gender-nonconforming bodies, it’s even more arduous.
Nico Herzetty, Emma K. Clark, and Paul Herzetty wondered: What if there was a way people could shop — not necessarily by color or size — but by measurements, materials, and ethics?
So they set off to create their website: Phoria.
Here, shoppers can set up a free profile, add their body measurements (and “typical fit challenges”) and peruse over 270 brands. Once these data points are entered, users can personalize their pages with “saved,” “recommended,” or “hidden” brands.
Pages can be totally private, or shared with the community to connect over styles and brands.
Aside from fit, brands in the Phoria database (which claims to be “the largest database of plus-friendly brands”) can also be filtered as “gender-neutral,” “woman-run,” “small business,” or “natural fibers.” Users can also filter for price, preferred styles, and more.
Tumblr media
Pictured: A screenshot of the "Fit Challenges" feature on a Phoria user's profile.
Some brands include popular names like Athleta, Levi’s, and Patagonia. Others are small businesses, like Beefcake Swimwear, or Hey Peach.
“For so many people, it feels too damn hard to find and keep clothing that fits in all the ways that really matter. So we’re doing something about it,” the Phoria website reads.
“Unlike most online shopping experiences, we center the needs of plus-size women, nonbinary, and trans people, and prioritize supporting clothing brands focused on sustainability, ethics, and inclusion.” ...
That team — made up of Clark, and Nico and Paul Herzetty — calls themselves “fat, disabled, and very, very queer.”
“These are some of the main ways we identify, and they’re qualities that have directly impacted our ability to get dressed every day in a way that feels good,” the Phoria team introduces themselves on the website.
Tumblr media
Pictured: A screenshot of Phoria's plus-size clothing brand database.
In addition to catering the user experience to women, non-binary, and trans people, Phoria is also a benefit corporation, or a B corp.
“We’ve legally required ourselves to consider the interests of all our stakeholders — customers, employees, the planet, and our shareholders,” the Phoria website explains.
“Our specific public benefit purpose is to reduce people’s dependence on buying mass-produced items made in unsustainable ways and to use human-centered business models to boldly challenge economic systems of inequity.”
Right now, in the early stages of the company’s business, it doesn’t make any money.
“We’re focused on building something that genuinely solves plus-size people’s challenges around clothes shopping and supports smaller and more sustainable brands,” Phoria’s website states.
So, spreading the word seems to be of utmost importance...
Additionally, TikTok creators @couplagoofs (a queer couple named Morgan and Phoebe), recently shared a video in which they discovered Phoria. They met the website’s creators at a fat liberation event in their city and were introduced to the tool.
Quickly, commenters responded with gratitude and excitement.
“It is so disappointing to sort through pages of plus size clothes that aren’t even plus size,” a TikTok user commented. “This is gonna be such a good tool!”
Some even shared emotional responses, speaking to the need at the heart of Phoria’s mission.
“I’m… gonna cry,” another commenter wrote. “I’ve needed this my whole life.”"

since i talk about work but don't actually plug my own shit: hi, i work for object lover, a trans owned and operated home decor maker focused on making objects for joyful, colorful living. if you're interested in supporting queer creators, this post is for you!
we have almost universally positive reviews, but struggle w/sales bc of low visibility. our labor is all shared, and for 3 years every employee, incl. the founder & designer ( 11 total at one time or another! ) has been paid equally.
it feels a little bit gauche, in this time of incipient genocide, to say "buy our stuff!" but even just checking out our website or reblogging this post is materially supporting trans women in central texas, & i think if you do you'll fall in love with our work. we make home goods and decor, including side tables—the first 3d printed furniture!—plant stands and planters, and jewelry trays.
here's a couple pics of my favorite items; a link'll follow in the reblogs because i think maybe we're still in the world of tumblr where links in the main post get eaten? reblog that one, please!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
as a side note, we keep our prices as low as we possibly can and still keep the lights on; our margins are very low. but one of our guiding principles is that beautiful, joyous home decor shouldn't be financially out of reach, esp. to queer ppl. we run sales as often as we possibly can, but if our work is still inaccessible to you i'm happy to provide coupon codes to anyone who dms me

YOU DON’T HAVE TO CHOOSE
Reject the binary! You don’t fit into a box and you don’t have to try. As a nonbinary person and artist myself, it means a lot to me to celebrate that I’m neither a man nor a woman. Did a friend have to remind me to make a nonbinary print to accompany my other trans prints? Yes! Does that make it any less cool? No! Shout-out to all of my peers in ambiguity, and especially to Mx. Nyx, THE Stevie Nicks of Colorado and very cool nonbinary person for reminding me we are worth celebrating.
