I saw from a post about how many asks you have and I was wondering why not just answer one ask then use that as your daily post? (I'm pretty sure you post daily from my memory)

I'm not a writer so apologies if I sound a bit rude or oblivious. But I think you don't do that because it might get tiring to write an in-character response each day.

I'm actually an Insane Person and ideally would be posting hourly/bi-hourly, if only I ever found enough content to queue up in such a manner,,

But, basically the delays can be summed up in three parts: tired or busy (lumping these together as one problem), no idea how to respond just yet (or respond in a way that satisfies me,) or I have ideas but they're art based and take more time.

I do have some wips for some art answers saved I think, but I've got, like, a single commission remaining on my docket and I refuse to let myself do other art until it's finished (barring one sketch I did for the sake of my sanity.... I cannot stress enough how much of a fight it is to get myself to do full shading and backgrounds 💀 mistakes were made.)

Now, admittedly, it's been a minute since I took a crack at writing out some more thoughtful or lengthy responses for some of the asks I've gotten- so far as I recall, at least- but the dissatisfaction problem is Extremely Real. No joke, I've had an ask sitting in my queue for several months now because I was like "yeah this is good enough," queued it, and then just before it could post I was overcome with an Intense distaste for it. I really liked the question and thought I could do better. (And still clearly have not done better....) Writing Kim honestly comes really naturally to me, and I could never really get tired of it, but sometimes an ask throws a curveball at me in a way that I just really cannot quite wrap my head around responding to. Other times, I get asks that I just can't let myself answer in a subpar manner- either the ask itself or the implications of the answer I concoct end up mattering too much to me, so I get super in my head about finalizing the reply.

And then me being tired is just a skill issue. (I'm joking; this only applies to like the last month or so, but I actually started taking some new medications recently that have been messing with me just a little in this respect. Sometimes I get tired, and when they DO give me the pep to do things, I've admittedly been trying to direct that energy into getting my life together lol)

So Teto, or in this au Queen Chimera, is to be simple the Scarlet of the au. I wanted vbs to be in the Arena and since I don't want wof characters in the au I made Teto Scarlet.

Chimera separates herself from Scarlet by being the mother of Inferno and Smoke, that she wasn't from the royal bloodline, but took over the kingdom when the war began and that she's a pseudo firescale.

Chimera is a chimera (hence the name (also because Teto is a chimera but hdbsk)), she absorbed her twin in the egg and therefore has more fire than the usual skywing. But since her twin was barely developed it's not to the degree of a true firescale.

Besides that? Mostly speculation

I can think of some interesting political issues she would bring in. Being a nonroyal queen she probably used one of the allying Queens to take over the kingdom (likely Rin or Venom in this au) hence their involvement in the war. With that the arena could technically be more of a measure to appease the masses ala panem et circenses. So theoretically I could characterize Chimera differently from Scarlet, by her still being power-hungry but not in a narcissistic way :Vc

I could also think about her position towards Skywing traditions. Skywing culture revolves around proof of strength, so Chimera becoming queen by being cunning has some conflicts I need to explore. Not to mention Smoke and Inferno hatching before her rule causes several issues...oh jeez

There's a lot of spaghetti and sauce when it comes to wof au politics. I wish I could bring up a detailed timeline like the nerd I am but atm it's speculation glued to the wof canon

But here's at least how her design would be. I'm not yet fully a fan of how it looks, but we'll survive

Ok. I have figured it out

I now have 2 tf2 aus, one where the mercs just have different animal traits and never were plain humans. This au has different animals for blu and red, and is largely just an excuse to draw sniper with dog ears

The other au is... darker would be an overstatement I think but a bit more monstery. Instead of just having animal ears and whatnot, a medic experiment goes wrong and the team turn into more monstrous animal human hybrids. Here they have to deal with getting used to their new bodies and there's a bit more of an actual plot line.

Later, Toya entered and sigh whatever, he then explained he's immortally 16 and you're like jeez that sucks but I can't date a 16 yo when I'm entering college soon 🫥 so you decided to break things off on a positive note and enjoying dinner one last day together as a couple. You're sad and he is too, that night he goes to bed with an expression that doesn't fit his youthful face, it's tired, and aged. It tells you he's used to this happening, It pulls your heart strings but what can you do? This circumstance was beyond your control, it's beyond the both of you. "

ssso my good friend pastell @startagainaprologue mentioned it was struggling with making a human design for the guide and i rubbed my hands together evilly and got to work. aaaaa this was super fun to work on!!!!! thankyou again for letting me draw this graaaa. as always my deranged character design ramblings are below the cut 👍

CHARACTER DESIGN BLAST

most of guide’s colors are slightly shifted to be closer to red and more… desaturated? my default bonnie colors clashed with the palette i usually use for guide so they got changed slightly. i did add the blue on the sash as a reference to my nille design however! and i tend to use cooler colors to represent countries outside of vaugarde, so you could interpret it as a link to the island. if you so desire :3

speaking of the sash, just about everything they’re wearing here is based on another character!! in this case, it’s meant to resemble nille’s waist sash! but with a different pattern. something something only having an imitation of what it lost. the stars are meant to represent siffrin and loop, and also just the universe in general. fun stuff!

i mostly just made their shirt longer for the sake of looking Different from normal bonnie? but combined with the sash it has the fun bonus of having a silhouette similar to siffrin’s cloak. not full intentional but hey! i’ll take it!

the gems on its tail are there to represent odile!! as well as referencing the ka buan tradition of compressing ashes into diamonds. you can draw your own conclusions there! and they go ding ding when it walks :3

the hat/halo isss probably self explanatory? it’s a way to fit guide’s Spiky Head into the design. the halo was added pafter pastell drew buns version of the design auau. i like both! so their hat can be whatever shape you please.

okay! nno more talking about clothes i promise. similar to my ghostlight loop design, i gave it spikier hair!! i have to give sponsors spiky hair to resemble their Spiky Heads. it’s the law. their hair was supposed to be shorter but. i’m pretty sure this is the exact same length i usually draw bonnie’s hair. oops? oh well it looks cute. the stars are honestly just there for fun i didn’t have anything specific in mind

in a similar vein, i changed their eye shape to match the eye shape on guide’s ref! perpetually Sad Looking. on the bright side they aren’t constantly crying anymore!

thheir body is. mostly the same? i decided to make their body Red Tinted for the sake of consistency and i removed the separated limbs aaand. that’s basically it? not much to say! i did add the halo bracelet around their wrist as a callback to the separation though. i didn’t do the same for its shoulder because i am Lazy 🩶

aaand i think that’s everything? well it Isn’t but i think everything else is self explanatory and frankly this is long enough as is. here is the """greyscale""" version as compensation 🩶

i wasn’t happy with the ones i did originally & i wanted to change some details, so here’s a newer version that i am much happier with. :3

- leshy: not much changed with his design, just changed some colours. of all the previous refs i did, his was the one i was the least happy with; much happier with this version though. :3👍

- heket: again, not much changed for her design, just changed the colours since the ones before were BLEH (i learned it was something to do with my program settings so i fixed that.!!) with her old ref, she was meant to have a little more chub on her tummy & muscle on her arms, but she had neither of those things so it looked wonky. this version is much more accurate to my original vision for her. :0

- narinder: basically nothing changed cuz he’s perfect already, but i finally figured out how to draw anthro kitties ((sorta)). i also made sure he looked extra fluffy & more like a maine coon, which is the breed of cat i based him on.

- kallamar: i figured out how to draw tentacles & i remembered to add his freckles this time. :D also there is no squidussy. let a man free his tentacles without judgement smh.

- shamura: so their design changed the most; colours changed, their eye colour changed, i added extra bug leggies (like leshy’s lil leg thingies), their head scar is actually visible (still kinda figuring out how their head injury would look after it’s mostly healed, so the scarring might change as i draw them more), & finally!! spider paws. :3 spiders & tarantulas are so freaky looking but they have such adorable lil paws, it confuses me as someone with slight arachnophobia. >.> also, they do have a little spider butt, i just didn’t draw it cuz it wouldn’t have been visible anyway with their clothes & arms in the way. same thing with the lamb & the goat, i didn’t draw their tails cuz it would have barely been visible anyway so. meh.

eventually i plan to draw their other forms & what they looked like when they were itty bitty, same with lamb/goat & the cat boys. but my wrist is killing me & i have other ideas i wanna draw so. it’ll have to wait. >_>

Buggy is someone who needs constant reassurance, and he uses having your phone number as a means to constantly get that from you. But like he's also very dramatic about it.

Zoro is on the opposite end of the spectrum because he doesn't text excessively, but you are lucky to get more than a one word response out of him. You could send him a several paragraph long text spilling your guts to him and all you'll get from him is a "k" or "alright" or "👍". If you send more than two texts in a row, he'll tell you to just call him if you're going to yap that much.

Luffy doesn't text, he sends voice memos. Not only does he send an absurd amount of them, but they're also all stupidly long because he gets distracted and rambles to his heart's content. What was supposed to be a simple voice memo asking if his jacket is at your place comes to you with a 31:46 time on it because he saw a cool looking beetle outside and just had to tell you about it in the memo. Half the time he forgets that he isn't actually on the phone with you and will ask a question several times before he remembers.

Doflamingo sends a lot of texts, but all of them are voice to text and are almost entirely unintelligible. The voice to text function wasn't designed to interpret his weird inflections and maniacal laughter. He also has a tendency to talk to other people in the middle of sending a text to you, so you have a whole ass random conversation smack in the middle of the text. He then has the audacity to have an attitude with you when you didn't catch the important thing he told you.

With Ace, you're going to feel like you're communicating via hieroglyphics because of how many of his messages to you are just memes/reaction images. He won't elaborate and lets you figure out what they mean. Did he just find that meme funny, or is there a hidden message in it? Who knows.

And then you have all of the old men (Sengoku, Garp, Whitebeard, etc) who can't text for shit and will send a series of unintelligible and confused texts before sending a very defeated "please call me"

Jimmy just constantly gets away with it, again and again. Even when he dies it’s a form of getting away with it. That’s what I think is so ironic about his death, he KILLS HIMSELF instead of getting in that cryochamber. He doesn’t get in that cryochamber and if they get saved 20 years down the line, tell those people what actually happened to the tulpar crew.

He just passes off responsibility on to Curly by putting him in that cryochamber who can’t even tell anybody. (Not saying Jimmy should’ve been the one to go in there but whatever I don’t have a better alternative) It lets Curly live with his actions, maybe because he was the one that let this happen but also you can’t blame him for everything and his fate isn’t completely deserved. His fate isn’t a form of karma because we don’t take joy from his suffering !!!

Jimmy just can’t even take responsibility right and turns escaping his actions into some kind of heroic act just like how he twists the image of Curly in his mind to be a bad person to justify his actions. It’s all just a justification sort of thing I think? Correct me if I’m wrong haha

Autistic rizz is low key real

People tend to be baffled and flustered by my high attention to detail from their routines and appearance, and nonchalantly describing it to them cuz I share my thoughts honestly without thinking too much about it

And a lot of people do appreciate just outright honesty in general, even if its negative, because a lot of people actually work to improve and grow themselves. Having someone on hand who is observant and honest is really beneficial!

Being hyper empathetic lets me just connect with people easily and lets them dump emotions and stuff onto me which ofc… people enjoy so!

Sitting and listening to people is downright a hobby for me, I love letting others info dump or just ramble to me (given that they actually acknowledge my own thoughts too!)

I work really hard on appropriate body language, so I have specific “i am listening!” positions, or mirroring their own body language and focusing heavily on their tone and subtext to understand it, making someone feel more paid attention to.

To follow up on the first thing too, I look everywhere but someone’s eyes when talking so I notice things like dimples, hair fluffs, freckles, etc, and ofc point it out because I make random comments like “your face shape is so aesthetically pleasing as an artist” or “you have that adorable hair strand that doesnt sit still”

Theres almost never where something like that is negative and as an artist and writer I find ways to describe stuff that makes people happy-
