Thursday, January 25th, 2024 Sun in Aquarius ♒️💨 Moon in Leo ♌️🔥

The first full moon of the year is here! Buckle up kids, this moon is full of passion and drama. There’s other big energies going on around it heightening the drama so let’s get into it.

The energies of the moon shift from the nurturing Mom feel of Cancer to the fun, creative and childlike Leo energies. As soon as the moon moves into Leo though it opposes Pluto in Aquarius. This gives the mood a sobering feel that pulls the unavoidable truths out for us to face. It sets a tone of transformation and change right before the moon opposes the sun, which is the full moon.

The sun, the seat of our focus and personality heads off with our emotional body. This creates a lot of energy that invites us to connect with our heart and be courageous. We’re getting in touch with our truest self in a most dramatic way. With Pluto along its side, deep truth will be revealed. We will come face to face with our darker side so we can fully learn to accept and love every good bad and ugly part of ourselves.

As if these energies weren’t big enough, the full moon will also square off with the optimistic and expansive energies of Jupiter in Taurus. This is a time for owning who you are and with no apologies, show it off for everyone to see. It’s time to explore the new and unconventional side of ourselves. Try not to go overboard and avoid overindulgence as Jupiter wakes up those desires.

Be bold, be expressive and own who you are under this full moon. Dig deep into the emotions that need to be released because once Uranus goes direct on Saturday, it’s go time. Don’t take all that old emotional baggage weighing you down with you.

A WILD, Disruptive 2025 Leo Full Moon

Anytime planets interact with Uranus, you can expect some disruptions and chaos. When it squares Mercury on Monday? Expect chaotic miscommunications, impulsive ideas, and mental static. When it squares the Sun on Tuesday? Your ego, identity, and self-expression are under electric stress. Then, the Leo Full Moon hits on Wednesday, amplifying the emotional drama and igniting a rebellious urge to burn it all down (or at least make a scene). There are ways you can work with this energy, though.

The Taurus part of your chart (where Uranus is stirring the pot) is the key. This is where something needs a radical shake-up—but instead of clinging to the old, try leaning into the change.

As I began to write about this month’s full Moon in Leo, I had a message from one of my sons – the one with the Sun in Leo. Leo is such a warm sign – the Sun is its ruler after all – so I was instantly cheered by a call from a sunny Leo on a cold, wet day in February. Where I live, we suffer from winter clouds that bring endless days and weeks of leaden skies. I feel in need of the Sun, so will…

According to numerology, the Full Moon on February 12th invites us to focus on nurturing ourselves and others, especially in terms of emotional well-being and relationships.

The Moon represents feminine (Yin) energy and is connected with the Water element. However, during this Full Moon in Leo, we’ll also feel the added influence of the energies of numbers 1, 3, and 5.

The combination of the strong, masculine energy of number 1 (linked with the element of Fire), the nurturing feminine energy of 2 (connected with Water), the creative abundance of 3, and the transformative energy of number 5 (supported by the Air element) will push us to take initiative, express our creativity, share ideas, and embrace joy.
