New Year Spell

It's about to be 2023! Whether you feel the year has went by fast or like it dragged on, I have an easy spell to manifest a good, lucky year. Starting on the 1st, I will be uploading another twelve spells to cover all areas of your life to bring your year to a wonderful start. You can do this combination at any major point of the year, such as your solar return (birthday). If you come across this in a different year, the same applies, it is for any time frame! Do this base spell on NYE or the 1st, it's up to you. We will build from this one!

What you'll need:

• Petition of what you want for 2023 (or the upcoming year)

• Taglock (your hair, saliva, nail clipping, urine, sexual fluids, blood, etc.)

• A tarot card (can be a printout) of what you'd like to represent 2023

• Seven day candle (color of choice)

• Cauldron

• Corresponding anointing oils & herbs (this will all be your decision according to your desires/intentions)

1) Pick a seven-day candle in a color that feels empowering to you for 2023. Whether you choose to anoint & dress this candle or not is up to you. Keep in mind this will be burning for several days so you will need to re-dress here and there. After you have cast your circle/compass (if that's what you do), then light it.

2) Place a tarot card near the candle of what you'd like to have this year. You can use a court card if you are trying to embrace the persona. It could be the 10 of Pentacles to have financial abundance and stability for your family. It could be the 2 of Cups to find love, as some quick examples. You may choose to anoint it with a manifestation oil or draw a sigil on the back of the card.

3) Next, you will be writing your petition in the candlelight. Write out everything you want to happen that is attainable. I recommend doing this in affirmation format. Cover all areas of your life. Sign it however many times you feel drawn to. You may draw a sigil somewhere on the paper to activate it as well. Place your taglock in the center, then start folding in a packet towards you, turning clockwise with each fold.

4) Light the packet on fire from the candle flame. Place in your cauldron, visualizing and/or meditating on these things manifesting for you.

5) Snuff the candle when you are done. You'll be using it throughout the next two weeks. Alongside that, keep the tarot card around. You may wish to display it or leave it charging somewhere to amplify the intent behind it.

Mistakes beginners in tarot make (dont worry, love i did these all aswell)

1. Picking a deck only based on aesthetics

Dont get me wrong some tarot decks are drop dead gorgeous, and its not wrong to begin with those if the feels right to you, if you are just picking your deck because it's pretty there may not be any connection between you and the deck

2. Not bonding with your deck

You gotta think of your deck as a divination tool but also as its own spirit, if that spirit doesnt know you, they wont give you correct readings, ill make a full post as to how to connect w/your deck soon

3. Strictly using guidebooks

Yes, guidebooks are a great tool, hell i still use mine from time to time, however, try to take the images into play, what is the numerology? Whats the theme of the image? How does this card make you feel? Use your intuition before skipping to guidebooks, the tarot cards are the tool, the intuition comes from you

The Fool

The fool is often pictured in peasant clothing carrying a pack tied to a staff. Sometimes there is a small dog or a cliff. The story goes that with all of his possessions in his small pack, he travels with no real destination. The fool has questions and wants to know what's out there as his head is filled with curiosity and excitement for adventure. He's so wrapped up in this feeling that he doesn't notice the chasm in front of him. The small dog tries to warn him but what isn't known is if the fool listens or continues to blunder blindly forward.

With the fool being card 0 of 21 of the major arcana, it's known to be a card of endless possibilities. The pack that he carries symbolizes that he carries all he needs to complete his journey if only he opens the sack and makes use of what's inside. The fool is on his way to a new beginning. Originality and eccentricity also come to mind.

This card can also carry a warning of sorts. While it's good to enjoy all that's around you, you still need to be careful of how and where you step.

When in the upright position, the fool can symbolize beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, and freedom.

When reversed, it can symbolize holding back, recklessness, and risk taking.
