The thing i hate most about this website is the number of preachy vegans who have never studied how nature actually works. We need to bring that shit back to schools. Even your salad was bought with blood and death, just human blood and plant death. But thats okay if the cute animals live 🤦♀️i just can't please learn how nature actually works and leave ndn people and our food alone

Dude tf is up with YouTube comments nowadays. You make one joke and suddenly you're "virtue signaling" and getting comments telling you you're stupid ASF for no reason like homie what. I literally just made a "very demure" joke and suddenly there's racist comments in my replies like what.
#ONE CLIP from a show that i haven't watched#i commented on ONE CLIP because I've watched at least four of them#the clip was of an aggressively racist yelling at a Hispanic cleaning lady because she assumed that the kids in her office belonged to her.#because they were Hispanic.#which is racist.#obviously.#but calling that out and congratulating the dad#who was also the boss#for taking responsibility for his kids#is “virtue signaling”#like what.#just because I'm white doesn't mean i can't fucking spot blatant racism#saying that two girls who are siblings can't possibly be related because one has darker skin than the other IS RACIST#YOU'RE BEING RACIST#LEAVE ME ALONE#LEARN BIOLOGY#DUMMY.

Wordle for Animals
The animal kingdom (Metazoa, in Greek) is full of our distant relatives... some more distant than others! Metazooa is a game that tests how well you can know our extended family tree.
Your goal is to figure out today's Mystery Animal in as few guesses as possible. Wrong guesses will narrow down the answer by taxonomic rank (kingdom, phylum, class, order, etc.) The more your guess has in common with the answer, the more you will learn about the Mystery Animal.

Prompt 41
Hear me out, DP and DC crossover where Scarecrow is cousins with the Fentons.
His mother was siblings with Jack’s father, and both Jazz and Danny met ‘Uncle Jonathan’ during one of the many Fenton-Nightingale family reunions that happens every few years. Honestly, perhaps it’s what gets Jazz interested in psychology, hearing from her ‘uncle’ about fear and its effects.
And honestly once they start having to deal with ghosts and having had to deal with their parents for years it’s not really hard to talk with their uncle. Crane still doesn’t know how he became these kids’ favorite uncle, or even all of the family kids’ favorite uncle-cousin, but that’s just how the family is.
Really he’s not even the only villain of the family, with both Jack and Maddie being close but not quite, even if they’re definitely mad scientists. Their son becoming a local hero, even if they’re not aware of that fact, is just ironic.
John knows. The two kids told him when they found out that Danny may or may not need to feed on fear now that he’s half ghost, and well he’s the specialist about the emotion so…
At least they have someone to stay with when Jazz goes to Gotham university and brings Danny with her, even if the local vigilantes are concerned as to why Scarecrow attacks have suddenly took a nosedive…
#dcxdp#dpxdc#danny fenton#jazz fenton#jonathan crane#scarecrow#Uncle Scarecrow Au#Crane: How the fuck did I end up being the responsible one in this family when I am a wanted man declared insane#Crane looking at the rest of his family and their warrents: Oh... oh no I AM the responsible one#Liminal Crane who is sipping liquid fear toxin like it's coffee while he's sleep deprived/hangry:#His goons: *terrified nervous sweating*#batman au#gotham#ghost biology#liminal biology#Scarecrow deserves to have matching fangs and reflective green eyes like his niblings#Batfam learning about the fact that Scarecrow literally *needs* to eat fear to live:#prompts

women really do need better class consciousness.
before you are religious, before you are a citizen of your nation, before you are anything else; you are a woman. your identity is complex but womahood is one of its first pillars. and womanhood is so important because so strictly tied, during her whole existence, to her implications: the ability to reproduce and the relative independence (ie: not having to desperately find another mate to pass on your genes + developing a physiological selectiveness) coming from it. female objectification, sex work, misogyny, female modesty, FGM, everything that hurts women stems from it. males want to control women sexuality because of it. it is therefore natural that womanhood is ontologically more important than any other label - because if you neglect it, others will surely not.
#evolutionary psychology is bullshit#because it is full of sexist remarks#but you know what isnt sexist? (even though sexists have manipulated that too sometimes)#evolutionary biology#AND ZOOOLOGY ESPECIALLY#girl go learn about ansiogamy and go see the pattern of male and female sexuality#aristotle used to study animals to understand humans and you know what? thats one of the few things he did right#even though it was probably his wife the one who did it lmaooo#also remember that humans are much much more than animals regarding their behaviour#zoology should be used STRICTLY to understand reality not to guide our morality#still a nice read#radblr#radical feminism#radfem#radical feminist community#radical feminist safe#radical feminists do interact#feminism#mental palace

Acclimation is actually an insane thing that our bodies do and its amazing how rapidly we adjust to a new environment.
It's like "Oh you wanna live in a place where the average temperature is literally 10 TIMES hotter than we're used to with almost 100% humidity so sweat isn't as effective? Ok give me a few days to adjust than we're good just some more sweat as we get used to it"
"What the fuck you wanna move to a place that's THOUSANDS OF FEET up in the air? A place without enough OXYGEN for you to function fuck...Ok give me a few days to MAKE MORE BLOOD AND MAKE YOUR HEART BIGGER then you'll be alright."
On a generational basis it's even funnier cause within a few dozen generations we can actually adapt to like any environment. People from Africa and Aboriginals are usually darker because Melanin acts as sunscreen in a place where they get too much sun and during a time where people didn't wear many clothes or have indoor shelters like today.
But as humans migrated north to latitudes where the Sun isn't constantly raining down an endless beam of death and cancer and started to wear more clothes due to it being colder they started lacking in Vitamin D and that leads to a whole HOST of other health issues related to births, cancers and other shit so we started lessening the pigment in our Skin in order to get as much Vitamin D that we can. This happened within a few generations as far as we're aware and like this shit is happening on a SUPER Fast biological scale.
For a kinda poor metaphor, the rate at which humans adapt to massively different environments to best live in is like how Speed runners can complete OOT within like 5 minutes compared to the 27 hours it takes to beat casually Edit:So apparently I am a dumbass when it comes to tempreture as the way we measure tempreture is not in fact liniar and is more logrimtic in nature than I was led to belive by math. There isn't a 10X increase in tempreture. But still you can go from living in Norway in the Winter to the Tropics/Sahara in a short period of time and our bodies adapt concerningly fast

In a groundbreaking discovery, bumblebees have been shown to possess a previously unseen level of cognitive sophistication. A new study, published in Nature, reveals that these fuzzy pollinators can learn complex, multi-step tasks through social interaction, even if they cannot figure them out on their own. This challenges the long-held belief that such advanced social learning is unique to humans, and even hints at the presence of key elements of cumulative culture in these insects. Led by Dr. Alice Bridges and Professor Lars Chittka , the research team designed a two-step puzzle box requiring bumblebees to perform two distinct actions in sequence to access a sweet reward at the end. Training bees to do this was no easy task, and bees had to be helped along by the addition of an extra reward along the way. This temporary reward was eventually taken away, and bees subsequently had to open the whole box before getting their treat.

"The world's coral reefs are close to 25 percent larger than we thought. By using satellite images, machine learning and on-ground knowledge from a global network of people living and working on coral reefs, we found an extra 64,000 square kilometers (24,700 square miles) of coral reefs – an area the size of Ireland.
That brings the total size of the planet's shallow reefs (meaning 0-20 meters deep) to 348,000 square kilometers – the size of Germany. This figure represents whole coral reef ecosystems, ranging from sandy-bottomed lagoons with a little coral, to coral rubble flats, to living walls of coral.
Within this 348,000 km² of coral is 80,000 km² where there's a hard bottom – rocks rather than sand. These areas are likely to be home to significant amounts of coral – the places snorkelers and scuba divers most like to visit.
You might wonder why we're finding this out now. Didn't we already know where the world's reefs are?
Previously, we've had to pull data from many different sources, which made it harder to pin down the extent of coral reefs with certainty. But now we have high resolution satellite data covering the entire world – and are able to see reefs as deep as 30 meters down.
Pictured: Geomorphic mapping (left) compared to new reef extent (red shading, right image) in the northern Great Barrier Reef.
[AKA: All the stuff in red on that map is coral reef we did not realize existed!! Coral reefs cover so much more territory than we thought! And that's just one example. (From northern Queensland)]
We coupled this with direct observations and records of coral reefs from over 400 individuals and organizations in countries with coral reefs from all regions, such as the Maldives, Cuba, and Australia.
To produce the maps, we used machine learning techniques to chew through 100 trillion pixels from the Sentinel-2 and Planet Dove CubeSat satellites to make accurate predictions about where coral is – and is not. The team worked with almost 500 researchers and collaborators to make the maps.
The result: the world's first comprehensive map of coral reefs extent, and their composition, produced through the Allen Coral Atlas. [You can see the interactive maps yourself at the link!]
The maps are already proving their worth. Reef management agencies around the world are using them to plan and assess conservation work and threats to reefs."

Big cat
#ft my poorly drawn monstera leaves for vibe#I was thinking abt shinx and luxray like. I know theyre supposed to be lions but I feel like cheetah or serval would work well too#like with electricity and stuff. wouldnt speed and agility make more sense for an electric type? esp a cat shaped electric type?#maybe it would be ok for luxray to be heavy built because itd be really big by then. but I thought hey it would be cool if its preevolutions#could focus on speed for escaping. escaping and hunting yknow#maybe this is just because I watched a cheetah documentary last night and thought they were cool#I also have a hc that luxray can charge up electricity and make its whole body glow like an x ray#like you can see it’s bones through the blue parts of skin. either as a threat display or courtship#the shinier and bluer the fur is the better you can see the bones. which would mean its feeding itself well#but Im not a biology expert Im just using what I learned from birds LOL#so sososo normal abt luxray line (is my favorite pokemon)#my art#myart#pokemon#illustration#shinx#Luxio#luxray#luxray line

I really love the thought that cyberformed humans still have human biological hangups, so-
Imagine the Autobots panicking over the sparklings "excessive" levels of sleep because humans run on a far shorter time shift (aka 24-hour days). The kids are cranky as hell because they need their Earth daily naps, but the Autobots are poking them awake since the 'bots are still running on Cybertronian time.
No one is surprised by Miko or even Raf biting hands, but it gets to the point where the sparklings start hiding for uninterrupted naptime in tight, dark spaces where 'bots can't easily reach. Like inside a seal vent shaft, behind the shelves of berths, and a really deep, well-dug hole under the main computer.
Unfortunately, that freaks out the Autobots further since that behavior is seen as a bitlet stress response. Made worse since the kids are Seekers or close to it as Miko is a Seeker sparkling, Jack is capable of flight, and there's a theory that modern Seekers are descendants of Predacons. Basically, Seekerkin sparklings have innate drivers to stay with their flocks and units, to consistently touch their guardians/parental bonds, so for the kids to ignore the Autobots can be taken as a major sign of abuse or something really wrong as Seekerkin are a very social frame-types.
Cue Agent Fowler to the rescue as he has to use plain English to explain that the kids just want uninterrupted naps because, well, they're babies. It's good for them. A necessity. No one wants to be sleep-deprived.
Because Agent Fowler has a gut feeling that if June Darby gets a word about this, then she'll raise hell and give Ratchet so much grief as the medic is taking it so personally. She'll move in and become a domestic menace.
