There are valid criticisms of Rick and Morty, but I will NEVER understand why people say the characters don't change, especially Rick. Watch "Final DeSmithation" or "Air Force Wong," then try to tell me he's the same maniac from season three.

when i was in high school i was associating with multiple conservatives/right-wingers/bigots - NOT on purpose, they just all gravitated towards me for some reason and i didn't know about their beliefs until afterwards - and nowadays i fuck with ZERO of them. hell i'm not even comfortable with the people who pull the neutrality card and go "oh well i'm still friends with them because i don't like the idea of cutting people off uwu" like now i'm really only friends with people who 1. aren't complete idiots 2. have spines and i'm genuinely much happier for it

There is not a definite answer to this. I would like to write more, I really enjoyed doing ELYN, the fandom has been great, but I am a very slowwww writer who would like to publish a novel one day so my fic writing time is very limited.

I do have things I would like to write! I have a vague outline for a soulmarks fic, I made the mistake of talking to a friend about werewolves and now there is a werewolf AU starting to take shape in my brain. But at the moment nothing has grabbed me to be like 'write this right now' in the way ELYN did in the weeks after season 2 came out.

...Maybe when season 3 comes out!

(if anyone got excited about a werewolf au and would like to read more longfic by me in general, I have a very long werewolf les mis fic that requires no canon knowledge and shares similar themes to YR in that it is about class differences and overthrowing the system. Also there are werewolves and everything is better with werewolves.)

Ayub freaks out, grabbing Simon’s arm to see it properly. “Oh my god, is that real?” Simon doesn’t need to look. At this point he knows it by heart, has traced lines between the dots so many times he’s almost surprised they're not permanently etched onto his skin. Somewhere out there, someone else is watching the same marks fade away on their own skin, as they drive away from Bjarstad. Again.

I’m writing a scene with Peter into a fanfiction and he’s so dramatic when he talks I feel like his whole voice needs to be in italics. It’s like he’s reveling in every word he says it is so fucking funny. And he’s not like. A rich British guy or something. He’s just full of shit and I can’t help but be amused by him

Tumblr apparently decided that I'm better when I'm absentee because it definitely did not decide to tell me about this ask (or I was in an insomniac fugue and deleted the notification in a half-asleep state but that rarely happens so I'm blaming Tumblr).

ANYWAY! This is totes Peter for me so you are doing him exactly right. He's like if one guy in Clue picked up all the bludgeon-y murder weapons, walked around making sure everyone saw him with them while swinging them around violently, then waited for everyone to suspect him of something nefarious so he could then act the martyr when everyone found out the victim died from arsenic poisoning. Because if it's not about him, he's going to find a way to make it about him.

I've talked a fair amount about how byan has been bullied and hurt by teachers in the past (& how they'd hit their limit and seek drastic revenge, in some cases), but I've never really talked much about how byan has also bullied and outright tormented teachers for themself... like yeah, it's definitely because they don't trust teachers or authority figures in general due to their past experiences, but that doesn't mean that their 9th grade math teacher deserved to feel afraid for his own safety or that their 10th grade biology teacher should have been so stressed that she retired early. byan has been done dirty by a lot of people in their life but they've also been a genuine menace to others who gave them no real reason to be, and they have taken enjoyment in it in a lot of cases.

i learned recently that there's a star trek: voyager mandela effect where many people remember an episode where chakotay got killed off (properly! not an AU or time-travel or whatever!) and then he reappeared a few episodes later and nothing was ever said about it and they'd thought that was odd.

and while i have never experienced that particular mis-remembering my gut reaction is "well voyager's just like that sometimes, i can see why you'd think you hadn't just made something like that up in your own head."
