Orion Rummler at The 19th:
In the past year, Florida’s health department has declined to amend gender markers on birth certificates for both transgender adults and minors. Although the agency says it is basing denials on pre-existing state statutes, transgender Floridians had previously been able to update their birth certificates for at least a decade. Now, they face an opaque process that seems designed to reject all applicants.  Transgender Floridians have been denied updated birth certificates even when all of their other government-issued identification reflects their current gender identity. When applicants provided paperwork detailing clinical treatment for their gender transition and their legal name change, they were still denied. This is at odds with how the agency has handled this approval process for years — and is the latest example of Florida’s state agencies enacting anti-LGBTQ+ policies even when anti-LGBTQ+ laws fail to pass.
In 2023 and 2024, trans minors and adults who applied for amended birth certificates received denial letters from the state health agency’s Bureau of Vital Statistics. In those letters, reviewed by The 19th, the bureau says the paperwork that has long been accepted to update gender on birth certificates — like proof of clinical treatment and a legal name change — no longer works.  “Specifically, the documentary evidence does not establish that the sex identifier on the birth record contains a misstatement, error, or omission,” one denial letter from March 2024 reads.  The denial letters also offer conflicting requirements. One, from August 2023, states that for trans minors, “documentary evidence established prior to the child’s seventh birthday is required.” In another letter, the bureau says that trans adults trying to update their birth certificates must provide documentation “established prior to the registrant’s 18th birthday.” Many transgender adults did not know they were trans as children, or did not pursue gender-affirming care as children even if they did realize their identities — rendering either requirement difficult, if not impossible, to navigate.
[...] Republican lawmakers in Florida have repeatedly failed to pass legislation that aims to prevent transgender people from being able to obtain accurate birth certificates. This year, a proposed bill to require that state identification and licenses reflect Floridian’s sex assigned at birth failed to pass. Last year, a bill that would explicitly prohibit gender markers being changed on birth certificates also failed to pass. Despite the lack of legislation, Florida agencies have moved to enforce such restrictions on their own.
In January, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles told local officials that the state would no longer allow transgender people to update their driver’s license with their correct gender. That move was not prompted by any new law, and was simply based on a new agency policy. LGBTQ+ and legal experts believe the rule likely takes Florida out of compliance with federal law, which the state disputes.  Now, Florida’s Bureau of Vital Statistics within its health agency has reversed course on birth certificate updates, arguing that discrepancies between sex at birth and gender identity do not constitute a paperwork error in need of fixing.   Updating all of the necessary identity documents is costly. The name change fee in Florida is $400 and fingerprinting for the background check as part of that name change is $50. The requirement of a doctor’s letter for updating the gender marker on a birth certificate means paying out of pocket for a doctor’s visit or at least a copay. Then, there’s the $20 application fee to amend the birth certificate; applicants may also pay more if they opt for rush service.
Florida is denying its trans residents a chance to update their gender markers on birth certificates without public notice.
This is all part of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R)’s war against LGBTQ+ Floridians.

Howdy!
Ive been on tumblr since 2012 but this is a new blog specifically for my current health journey.
Im honestly not a fan of tumblr much anymore or the internet in general. I really enjoyed going out and doing things in person until my body decided to stop functioning. I’m hoping to revamp my love of tumblr and be able to socialize from my bed.
Here are some things about me:
I am in my mid 20’s but typically get along well with people older than me
im transmasc/ non-binary /who cares? Is femboy a gender?
Im the fruitiest person you will ever meet
Im married but also polyam
Neurodivergent af
I am on EST time
I was raised Jewish and am still vaguely jewish but also kindof witchy. I AM NOT A ZIONIST LET ME MAKE THAT CLEAR. That shit is FUCKED.
I am diagnosed with too many mental health issues to list tbh but most recently i was diagnosed with Depersonalization Disorder which i feel encompasses all my things.
I am diagnosed with gastroparesis but its comorbid to an unknown autoimmune disease that we cant seem to figure out
I was previously living on my own but now live back with my parents which has been ROUGH
I was raised in a conservative family in a semi-rural area where I was one of the only people of color that i knew of so my entire cultural identity has been pretty whitewashed and i hold alot of trauma about it
I was formerly an aspiring art teacher and was teaching as an assistant teacher for kindergartners. It was something I really loved until i had to resign due to my health
Hobbies/interests
ART! what kind of art? ALL OF IT!
crafts ( yes different from art in my head)
Thrifting
I collect y2k nostalgia toys (mostly furbys and carebears but my collection is honestly so huge at this point i have alot)
Cozy video games but only whatever im currently fixated on
Social card games (think CAH except not CAH , i don’t like that one after playing it 5 billion times)
Plushies
Poetry ( pls ask to read them 👉🏻👈🏻)
The Twilight Saga but in a meme way (yes im a TSP ratty🐀 iykyk)
The office
Kirby but also any cute Nintendo character tbh
Things i will be posting
Chronic illness rants and vents
Chronic illness memes
i like to make mood boards alot ( if you send me your diagnosis or any type of theme i will probably say yes)
General inquiries such as “has anyone else had this shit happen?”
Positive updates when i find things that work
Updates on my latest “stuck at home” projects
Original poetry and artwork about chronic illness/pain
Quotes i relate to as a disabled person ( will credit)
Things that will not be happening
I wont be making a DNI list , im a leftist please use common sense
Please no minors, no offence im just old
I DO NOT subscribe to what I like to call “tumblr brain rot” let me explain!
I see alot of division on here that usually comes down to two different groups of people who use identities that aren’t “typical” and people who gatekeep a community and hate anyone who doesn’t align to their way of thinking. I WILL NOT be choosing sides in any of these arguments. I think that people should identify with whatever they want . I do not care how niche it is. HOWEVER, i am horrified by some of the commentary from people with niche identities that expect others to immediately understand that identity without giving anyone a chance to understand. Nobody can ever learn to accept something you wont help them understand. I am also a firm believer that people can change and grow. Canceling someone for unforgivable behavior is one thing. Canceling someone for an honest mistake gives me the ick. Please ask yourself “ is this a pattern of behavior or something they are working on?” before making a call out post. In fact maybe we shouldn’t make call out posts about people unless they are genuinely dangerous. If its discourse exclusive to tumblr please just keep me out of it.
Activism!
Yes! If youve made it this far then you know that beyond tumblr there are BIG problems out there that internet discourse unfortunately will not solve. Im a huge follower of many activist movements but here are the ones i most interact with.
Trans rights , especially the rights of trans children and destroying the stigma around trans people being inherently sexual and dangerous to children. ( as a former trans teacher who has been thoroughly harrassed even though i was excellent at my job i have had a bone to pick with these shitheads)
Queer/POC intersectionality , i often go to panels and discussions on this matter because it is deeply personal to me as a person of color with blue hair and pronouns. I have been made fun of all my life for not conforming to Hispanic stereotypes and doing things people consider “white liberal culture”. Fun fact: not all trans people look the same.
Disability rights but also Autism Acceptance, my wife is autistic and im adhd and also physically disabled. PEOPLE DESERVE ACCOMMODATIONS. Being in a relationship with an autistic person for many years has made me very very pissed on thier behalf and on behalf of anyone who functions differently. News flash: everyone deserves to have thier needs met and that includes needs you dont understand.
I will gladly attend pretty much ANY virtual event/meeting to support these causes. I am always available to speak on my personal experience or assist with public speaking. If its an in-person event please DM me to discuss if it’s possible for me physically and logistically. ( pls note that altho i do not support isreal that the events in Palestine really hit a rough spot for me mentally because my jewish family members gosupersayan if they catch me supporting Palestine. Sometimes im in the headspace for it but other times its really triggering to remember that ive been disowned by most of my family for it)
This is getting really long so im going to stop but im very extroverted so plz ask me things i need social interaction.

F1 teams told they must work to improve governance and transparency
Formula One teams must do more to improve their governance and transparency if they are to embrace a sustainable future, according to new research. The report by the Standard Ethics group has concluded that F1 teams need to make clear their position and goals on environmental, social and governance issues, with only three of the 10 on the grid currently having a publicly stated code of ethics. “There is work to do for the governance side, this is the most important,” said Jacopo Schettini, the director of research at Standard Ethics. “It is very, very important to see a long-term commitment to sustainability. A long-term commitment comes from crucial important documents like a code of ethics or a sustainability plan or policies on specific issues. “There were three teams with a code of ethics – McLaren, Aston Martin and Ferrari. They were talking about all major sustainability issues but I would like to see more from the other teams.” Standard Ethics assesses companies on their performance relating to sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. They were not commissioned to analyse F1 teams but undertook the research independently. In their report, teams were assessed on whether they publish a code of ethics, the quality of reporting of ESG issues, whether they have a human rights policy and whether they disclose environmental targets. They did this by analysing the information each team has published in the public domain. Schettini noted that investigating this way was a vital test of the transparency he believes is key to a positive sustainability policy. “We analysed by what they publish,” he said. “It’s very important, the first part of sustainability is to be transparent, to inform people what you are doing about that. You should publish everything.” Schettini acknowledged that in some areas the teams performed well. Most, the report concluded, were addressing human rights and addressing environmental targets. However outside of the three teams cited the lack of a published code of ethics and of an ESG reporting system meant governance and transparency was lacking. “Sustainability is not just environmental topics, but also gender inequality or risk management, or health and safety. It’s a lot of issues,” Schettini said. “Having an ESG reporting system we can see what they are doing, they have to improve governance and reporting.” Clearly, however, teams are acting positively. Mercedes have committed to fund the MSc motorsport scholarship programme with the Royal Academy of Engineering, aimed at improving diversity among motorsport engineers, part of their Ignite partnership with Lewis Hamilton. Schettini added that some teams may also have a code of ethics and ESG reporting system that was not public, but reiterated that was a part of the problem. “Sustainability needs transparency,” he said. “Transparency and a long-term vision, give us a long-term vision. What you are thinking about sustainability and keep us updated on your goals. If you fail to meet a target we understand, you can postpone a target but it’s very important that you have a target and a roadmap.” The group have since received feedback from several teams looking to improve their performance in future. F1 recently published its latest report into its environmental goal of going carbon neutral by 2030, a target the sport believes it is on course to meet. However, F1’s teams are far from alone in requiring improvement. “We do something like this, even more accurately with most leading European football teams,” said Schettini. “Last year, we discovered more or less the same approach from them, so we have seen some environmental targets but even leading football teams lack transparency.” via Formula One | The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/sport/formulaone

Factors influencing the type of practice established by Canadian plastic surgeon
The Canadian plastic surgery industry has become a booming business in recent years, with more and more people seeking cosmetic procedures to enhance their appearance. With the rise in popularity of non-invasive treatments, such as Botox and fillers, there is also an increase in demand for surgical procedures like breast augmentation, liposuction, and rhinoplasty.
In this article, we will discuss the factors that influence the type of practice established by Canadian plastic surgeons.
Patient Demographics
One of the most significant factors that influence a Canadian plastic surgeon's practice is their patient demographics. This includes age, gender, and socioeconomic status. For example, a plastic surgeon in a city with an aging population may specialize in procedures like facelifts and eyelid surgery. On the other hand, a surgeon practicing in a more affluent neighborhood may have patients seeking more expensive procedures, such as breast augmentation or tummy tucks. Understanding the needs and wants of their patient demographic plays a crucial role in shaping a plastic surgeon's practice.
Location
The location of a plastic surgeon's practice also has a significant impact on the type of procedures they perform. In larger cities like Toronto or Vancouver, there may be a higher demand for non-invasive treatments due to the busy lifestyle of its residents. This can lead to plastic surgeons in these areas focusing more on injectables and less on surgical procedures. In contrast, a plastic surgeon practicing in a smaller town or rural area may have fewer patients seeking cosmetic procedures, resulting in a more diverse practice that includes both non-invasive and surgical treatments.
Training and Experience
A plastic surgeon's training and experience also heavily influence their practice. In Canada, plastic surgeons undergo extensive education and specialization before becoming certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. However, some may choose to specialize further in certain areas, such as facial reconstruction or breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Additionally, a plastic surgeon's experience can also shape their practice. For example, a surgeon who has been in practice for many years may have more expertise and confidence in performing complex procedures that newer surgeons may not feel comfortable doing.
Patient Goals
The goals and expectations of patients seeking cosmetic surgery can also impact a plastic surgeon's practice. Some patients may have specific concerns or desired outcomes that require a surgeon with specialized training or experience. For example, a patient seeking rhinoplasty may prefer to go to a plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in this area, rather than a general plastic surgeon.
Technological Advancements
Advancements in technology also play a significant role in shaping a plastic surgeon's practice. With new technologies emerging in the field of cosmetic and plastic surgery, surgeons must stay updated on the latest techniques and equipment to provide the best possible care for their patients. This can include incorporating minimally invasive procedures, such as laser treatments or injectables, into their practice. Furthermore, technological advancements have also made it possible for plastic surgeons to offer more customizable options for patients. For example, 3D imaging technology allows patients to see potential outcomes of their surgery before it even takes place, giving them a better understanding of the procedure and helping them make more informed decisions.
Ethics and Safety
Plastic surgeons are also guided by ethical principles and safety protocols in their practice. They must ensure that all procedures are performed with the highest standards of safety and care, prioritizing the well-being and health of their patients. In addition, plastic surgeons must also adhere to ethical guidelines set by professional organizations, such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) or the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS).
Continuing Education
To maintain their skills and knowledge, plastic surgeons are also required to participate in continuing education programs. This allows them to stay updated on the latest techniques, technologies, and ethical standards in their field. Continuing education also helps plastic surgeons provide the best possible care for their patients by ensuring they are knowledgeable about new developments in cosmetic and plastic surgery.
Conclusion
In conclusion, cosmetic and plastic surgery continue to evolve in Toronto with advancements in technology, ethical guidelines, and continuing education. The commitment of Toronto plastic surgeons to patient safety, ethics, and continuous learning ensures the delivery of high-quality care. Cosmetic surgery in Toronto offers a wide range of customizable options, enabled by cutting-edge technology such as 3D imaging, to meet the diverse needs and expectations of patients. With these advancements, Toronto continues to be a leading hub for cosmetic and plastic surgery, promising an exciting future in this field. If you are considering a cosmetic or plastic surgery procedure in Toronto, make sure to do thorough research and choose a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon to ensure the best possible results. Remember, your safety and well-being should always be the top priority.  So, don't hesitate to consult with a reputable Toronto plastic surgeon today!

How to Get the Most Out of Multivitamin Supplements in Abu Dhabi | Diettox
Tumblr media
Multivitamin supplements are an excellent way to ensure your body gets the essential nutrients it needs, especially if your diet may not always provide them. If you’re living in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, you’ll find a wide range of multivitamin options available. Here’s a guide on how to get the most out of Multivitamin Supplements in Abu Dhabi and multivitamin supplements in Dubai.
1. Understand Your Nutritional Needs
Before choosing a multivitamin supplement, it’s crucial to understand your specific nutritional needs. Factors such as age, gender, lifestyle, and health conditions can affect your nutrient requirements. Consult with a healthcare provider or a dietitian to identify any deficiencies and to determine the appropriate type of multivitamin for you.
2. Choose Quality Brands
When selecting multivitamin supplements in Dubai or multivitamin supplements in Abu Dhabi, opt for reputable brands known for their quality and safety standards. Look for brands that are transparent about their ingredients and manufacturing processes. Products that have been third-party tested for purity and potency are generally more reliable.
3. Follow the Recommended Dosage
It’s essential to follow the recommended dosage on the multivitamin label or as advised by your healthcare provider. Taking more than the suggested amount can lead to adverse effects or vitamin toxicity. Consistency is key, so make taking your multivitamins part of your daily routine.
4. Pair with a Balanced Diet
While multivitamins can help fill nutritional gaps, they should not replace a balanced diet. Ensure you’re eating a variety of nutrient-rich foods, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. This will help your body absorb the vitamins and minerals from your supplements more effectively.
5. Consider Timing and Pairing
Some vitamins are better absorbed when taken with food, while others may require an empty stomach. For example, fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) should be taken with meals containing healthy fats. On the other hand, certain minerals like iron should be taken on an empty stomach for better absorption. Read the label on your multivitamins and adjust your timing accordingly.
6. Stay Hydrated
Adequate hydration is crucial for the absorption and utilization of vitamins and minerals. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to support your overall health and enhance the effectiveness of your multivitamin supplements.
7. Monitor Your Health
Pay attention to how your body responds after starting a new multivitamin regimen. Keep track of any changes in your energy levels, mood, and overall well-being. If you experience any adverse effects or do not notice any improvements, consult your healthcare provider to reassess your supplement needs.
8. Store Supplements Properly
To maintain the potency and effectiveness of your multivitamin supplements, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing them in humid environments like bathrooms. Check the expiration date regularly and replace them as needed.
9. Be Patient
Nutritional changes and the benefits of multivitamin supplements may take some time to become noticeable. Be patient and give your body a few weeks to adjust and show improvements. Consistency is key to achieving long-term benefits.
10. Stay Informed
Stay informed about the latest research and recommendations regarding multivitamin use. Nutritional science is constantly evolving, and staying updated can help you make informed decisions about your health.
Conclusion:
Getting the most out of your multivitamin supplements in Abu Dhabi and Multivitamin Supplements in Dubai involves understanding your specific nutritional needs, choosing quality products, and integrating them into a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. By following these tips, you can enhance the benefits of your multivitamins and support your overall health and well-being. Remember, always consult with a healthcare provider before making any significant changes to your supplement regimen.

Christine Yu - Journalist and Author of “UP TO SPEED: The Groundbreaking Science of Women Athletes”.
Christine Yu is an award-winning journalist whose work focuses on the intersection of sports science and women athletes. Her writing has appeared in Outside, The Washington Post, Time, Runner’s World, and other publications. She’s a lifelong athlete and yoga teacher who loves running, surfing, and skiing. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
About the book:
“In the past half-century, women have achieved remarkable progress in the realm of athletics. More women are participating in sports and maintaining an active lifestyle throughout their lives. Whether they're elite athletes striving for excellence or passionate amateurs enjoying their athletic pursuits, women deserve a sports culture that empowers them.
This culture should offer training programs and equipment specifically designed to support their unique physiologies, along with nutrition and injury prevention guidelines grounded in scientific research and tailored to their individual experiences.
Unfortunately, women have often received guidance based on research that fails to consider their distinct experiences and physical characteristics. Much of what we've accepted as the standard in exercise and sports science is rooted solely in studies conducted on men.
But the landscape is changing for the better. Researchers are now conducting more inclusive studies to close the gender data gap. They're investigating how women can enhance their athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, and maintain good health.
In 'Up to Speed,' sports and health journalist Christine Yu unravels myths and dissects gender bias in light of real science. She advocates for new approaches that empower female athletes to excel at every life stage, from adolescence through adulthood, encompassing pregnancy, menopause, and beyond.
Christine delves into the latest research findings and shines a light on the researchers, athletes, and advocates challenging the status quo. They are pioneering innovative solutions to enhance the active and athletic lives of women and girls, ushering in a new era of gender equality in sports science and performance.”

WHO Launches New Contraceptive Guidelines
Tumblr media
Advancing Global Contraceptive Practices
The Introduction of Updated WHO Contraceptive Guidelines The World Health Organization (WHO) Department of Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (SRHR) including HRP, announces the formation of the Guideline Development Group (GDG) for the update of the WHO Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive use 6th Edition (MEC) and the Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive use 4th Edition (SPR). This marks a significant step in enhancing the guidance on contraceptive use worldwide.   MEC/SPR GDG: A Diverse Expert Panel The MEC/SPR GDG comprises a team of external experts who will provide WHO with scientific advice on the technical content, organization, and dissemination of these crucial guidelines. Ensuring regional and gender balance, the GDG includes professionals from various fields such as public health, epidemiology, pharmacology, health systems, and more.   Objectives of the MEC/SPR GDG The GDG will convene in July 2024 at WHO’s Headquarters in Geneva with several key objectives: - Appraising evidence on specific Population, Intervention, Comparator, and Outcome (PICO) questions to inform the MEC and SPR updates. - Identifying potential research gaps in contraceptive use. - Addressing implementation considerations for the new editions.   Ensuring Comprehensive and Balanced Guidelines The MEC provides evidence-based guidance on the safety of various contraceptive methods in the context of specific health conditions and characteristics. In contrast, the SPR offers advice on how to use these methods correctly and effectively. The updated editions will be reviewed and validated by the GDG before submission for final approval.   Transparency and Public Engagement In adherence to WHO’s conflict of interest policies, the biographies of GDG members are accessible to the public. Furthermore, this transparency allows for the submission of any concerns regarding individual members’ participation in the guideline development process. Additionally, the GDG's diverse composition of 18 members ensures a wide range of expertise and perspectives.   The Impact of the Updated Guidelines These updates are crucial in providing healthcare professionals and policymakers with the latest, evidence-based information on contraceptive use. Moreover, the guidelines aim to improve the safety and effectiveness of contraceptive practices globally, reflecting the latest research and best practices in the field.   Looking Forward: WHO’s Commitment to Global Health The WHO's initiative to update these guidelines underscores its commitment to advancing global health, particularly in the realm of sexual and reproductive health. As the world awaits the new editions, the WHO continues its mission to provide reliable, research-backed health guidelines that cater to diverse populations worldwide.
In Summary
The WHO's development of the 6th MEC and 4th SPR Editions represents a pivotal moment in global health, particularly in the area of contraception. By bringing together a diverse group of experts and ensuring an open, transparent process, the WHO is set to provide comprehensive, up-to-date guidelines that will significantly impact contraceptive practices around the world. This initiative not only reflects the WHO's dedication to evidence-based health advice but also its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals globally through improved contraceptive use.   Sources: THX News & World Health Organization. Smart Watch Series 7 : A Luxury Brand For All Mankind
Tumblr media
Fortunately for you a new brand has emerged “Address Tech” With Smart wearable Gadgets including Smart Watches at a very competitive prices with only 4,999 INR Giving you complete features and look alike feel of top brands in the industry
This review is focused on Smart Watch Ultra for Men and Women.
Tumblr media
Although the 46mm version is a little bigger, I found it to be pretty comfortable on my wrist, and the advantages are rather clear: A larger screen and a longer battery life are two things that are particularly essential to me. And occasionally, the stainless-steel silver shine still manages to capture my eye. in light of this, regardless of your wrist or gender
Our new Smart Watch Series 7 and Series 8 is all equipped with Latest 1.15GHz Exynos 9110 dual-core processor and 4GB of storage. The noncellular editions, however, have 748MB of RAM while the LTE editions come with 1.5GB.
Main difference between the Smart watch Series 7 New Smart Watch Series 8 series are the new founf GPS Tracking System and Bluetooth Calling Features found in the inside
The Smart Watch for men Series 8 Ultra is waterproof up to 50 meters. This Smart Watch for women is specially designed to be swim-proof, detect their periods including those who love to swim in salt water. Rinse a little your Smart Watch belt or strap and Display after swimming in such conditions.
You will get around four days of battery Life in Series 8 and 3 days of Battery life from Series 7 Smart Watch models. I will provide more details of Smart Watch Series 7 battery life further below.
The fact that former Smart Watch FK88 models now track 39 tracked workouts in total and 21 indoor exercises is a result of significant upgrade in the technology. The Address Tech Smart Watch — Health app is connected to the fitness and sleep tracking functions, and there are also tie-ins to other well-known fitness applications like Under Armour, MayMyRun, Speedo, and others. As promised, Your Smart Watch Amoled Display is Crack Proof and also comes with a stress-management software that I have undoubtedly found helpful when situations call for a few deep breaths.
I’ve used this smart watch for kids at my homes for my offsprings specifically, and over that time I’ve seen the sleep-tracking feature get better thanks to recurring upgrades. When your Smart Watch monito heart rater continually as opposed to the battery-saving once every ten-minute setting, I found it to be more accurate. Although the Smart Watch for men, women and kids performs admirably overall, keep in mind that BoAt and Garmin watches offer less accurate sleep tracking for people for whom this feature is important.
The same caution applies to exercise experts who, for a variety of reasons, strive for perfection in their Smart watch Fitness workout monitoring. All of these watches are undoubtedly a motivational component to meet daily goals for steps taken, activity performed, and calories burned. Additionally, to better understand the relationship between your calorie intake and burns, I advise manually recording your intake of food, water, and coffee. For those Apple Watch devotees, I must say that the step and distance monitoring in Address tech Smart Watch needs no improvement to match that of Apple or Samsung For that matter.
Adequately tracked by Address Tech Smart Watch Workout regime of 3–4 mile runs along with a few simple workouts, especially with its software update improved GPS performance. With a weekly and monthly schedule, I am always motivated to accomplish my daily goals as well as make them better. I do have to admit, though, that the hourly reminders to get up from my desk and move around are far simpler than the 250 steps required by Firebolt.
To those who like to use voice commands, Edith is AddressTechs voice assistant at your service in the New Smart Watch Limited Edition. You can voice various commands such as “Play music” and “Start workout,” and also ask questions such as “What’s the weather?” To the delight of many — especially my neighbor’s kids who like to bug me by answering to text messages on my watch — you can reply to text messages. Search on Google Smart Watch Series 8 Ultra on Flipkart and Amazon with your voice command and Book your colour of choice today.
If you have a Smart Watch Series 7 , you’ll be just fine with a variety of different pairings and apps with your Kids Smart Watch Series 7. The optimization is also good with other Android phones and to some degree with iPhones.
Like me, you could have the impression that the smart watch industry is intensifying its competition with the Apple Watch by introducing a number of mobile brand items to entice consumers to buy their goods in bundles. Apple and Samsung are the market leaders for wearable goods and have achieved extraordinary success in this area. However, Apple and Samsung are both becoming aware that consumers’ attention is turning away from traditional fitness trackers and toward the new Series 7 and Series 8 smartwatches, which offer an all-in-one, variety of everything in a single gadget package.
There are already some areas where the AddressTech Smart Watch outperforms the Apple Watch and still draws buyers. The primary characteristic and distinction between AddressTech watches and Apple watches is their circular faces as opposed to their square counterparts. Simply a question of taste, this is a contentious subject among my friends. Numerous round-table arguments at dinner have really caused some of my friends to stop talking to me for a few days! I’m kidding, but it’s still the subject of a heated discussion.

Orion’s mother left America to study mythology at a British university. It was there she met his father, also studying. The pair hit it off and eventually married, Orion wasn’t far behind.
The night Orion’s mother told his father they were having a baby she took him outside to star gaze, telling him the stories of the ancient Greeks above. He struggled to see what stars she was talking about, except for Orion’s belt - three stars perfectly lined up together. Just as they would be as a family.
When he was born Orion cried like nothing would ever be okay in the world. The nurses and doctors worried, but found nothing medically wrong. It wasn’t until Orion’s father nursed him by the window, pointing out Orion’s belt to the newborn did he seem to finally calm. The new parents felt the name Orion was fitting, as if he picked it out himself.
Life growing up in the UK had its ups and downs. He didn’t look or sound like the rest of the kids around him - his father was first generation Cuban-British, his mother was American. Sometimes there were fights in the school grounds, or out, some days he just skipped class entirely. Sometimes that was to flirt with the local girls school as they walked by his returning from sports at the nearby oval. If anything he would have thought of his childhood relatively normal, expected even. He did well in class despite his absences, he participated in sports and made friends who would invite him over to watch the latest movie on VCR. It was normal, at least in that aspect of life.
Home life was getting more and more destructive as Orion moved into his teen years. His father was becoming known for outbursts, whether anger or from distress. His mother would pretend all was okay; he was just having a ‘tantrum’ or a ‘funny day’. It was normal! Everyone had trouble sometimes. But sometimes when he was alone with his father he could hear him talking to someone, when the room was empty. He would say something to his father and the man would seem to be in another world entirely, not hearing a word that left his mouth.
Things got the worst when Orion was 15. His grandparents, his fathers parents, moved in. They used the excuse they were struggling with money, but they always seemed to have a wallet full of cash ready to go. He was starting to get pushed out of rooms, told to go study or sleep when he heard his father scream. They didn’t want him to see what was happening to the man. He was sick. Doctors were in and out of the house, sometimes they would help - for a few days the house would grow quiet. Then things would get bad again, and every time it seemed to be getting worse.
Orion spent a lot of time out of home, he would sleep at friends houses or wander the streets. It felt for a while there no one cared what happened to him, he was pushed out and forgotten. Most mothers would worry about their son being out all night, his mother didn’t even notice. She had a lot on her hands, he knows this now, but as a teenager sometimes you need that support.
Everything came to a breaking point when one night that he did happen to be home he was awoken by his mothers screams for help. He scrambled out of bed, launched through the house in nothing but his boxers, to find his father welding a knife trying to prove to everyone they were all dead. He doesn’t remember everything that follows, his mind protecting him from as much trauma as they can. All he knows is he put himself between his mother and the knife, tackling the man he had looked up to as a child.
Orion, his mother, and his father all ended up in hospital that night. His grandparents came home after a later dinner party in time before trauma turned to tragedy. Doctors submitted his father into the psych ward as his grip on reality slipped away completely. His mother would come to divorce his father, his grandparents taking care of the man moving him to a care facility where he remains today. His mother would take Orion across the sea to America where her family would welcome him.
Orion would struggle after what he went through, it wasn’t allowed to be talked about - his mother wanting to forget it ever happened. A fresh start, why would they dirty it up with what has been? She would go on to work at Pleasance library whilst Orion finished his education through home schooling. He was of age to get a job so filled his free time working small jobs around town, planning to build enough funds that at age 18 he would return home to England.
Except he never did. Ask him today and Orion will probably shrug as to why not, honestly he doesn’t quite know. There was something about this town, he didn’t really feel like leaving. Ever. Strange, no? In his time in Pleasance Orion has made friends, had good and bad relationships, lived a typical life. He moved into his own flat, even bought himself a cat to keep him company. His mother eventually retired and calls in on him far too often but he humours her, knowing she never meant him harm.
Over the years Orion has received letters from his family in England looking to update him on the state of his father but they go unanswered. Truthfully, he wishes they would stop, but part of him would appreciate that the line of contact always stayed open. It was just more annoying than welcoming when a letter showed up in his mailbox.
The last few years Orion has been working at For Keeps, the antique store. He likes working there because there is always something new in store, something he had never seen before or a story locked away inside. Orion liked to research the history behind them, filling his time with books at the library or fingers tapping away at the keyboard as he looks online for further information. It feeds his curiosity, making it always annoying when he hits a dead end.
Life was normal, well as normal as you can get in this town (it’s always been a bit strange). Except, well, there was the fact he was seeing dead people. Well, Orion isn’t completely sure they’re ghosts. It’s not everywhere nor is it all the time. He first noticed it around five years ago, or maybe it was longer than that. They would just be there, doing their thing, when a figure that didn’t belong would join him. The ‘ghost’s don’t talk to him, not really. Sometimes they utter a word or shake their head but it’s never enough to know what they want from him. Occasionally they move his things, or things around the store, or follow him around as if they were breathing down his neck.
Orion would be more distressed over the idea of ghosts if it wasn’t a more comforting idea than what happened to his father. Ghosts meant he wasn’t insane, just haunted. That he could handle, they didn’t bother him enough for it to disrupt his life and sometimes the company was nice on a slow day. Of course he told literally no one of the things he was seeing, they would call him crazy and break his mothers heart. If she ever found out she would have him hospitalised and possibly end up there herself.
Telling himself it was ghosts felt easier than the fact he was of the same age his father was when he lost touch with reality, that the things his father saw could be appearing in front of his own eyes. To turn into the man he left behind so long ago was his worst nightmare - he may not have an exciting life but he had one he longed to hold on to. So ghosts were easy to handle, for now at least. Trauma from his father? He’ll pass on that one, even if it meant his own health was a risk.
Orion to his friends is just like his cat, he likes to find somewhere warm and settle. If he’s at the bar he’s in the corner booth with his drink, maybe a book in hand until company joins him. He likes to check out sometimes, go out to the lake with some camping gear and forget the worst exists. You’re lucky if he invites you along, he clearly doesn’t want to forget you.
Orion almost always is carrying a packet of cigarettes, a notebook or novel, a packet of gum and spare change. He walks most places so his car is collecting dust in its garage. He likes to cook for people, as long as you’re not a picky eater. He is often scribbling in his notebook, whether reminders or notes on something he’s researching, or poems no one is supposed to ever hear.
To most Orion is known as Ori, his parents are the only one who would call him conejito, which means ‘little bunny’.
OOC:
My name is Jen but for less confusion you can call me J. I’m 27, live in Australia, and have been on Tumblr for like... over 10 years. Love me.
He is open to all kinds of connections, I do not have a specific list so just hit me up to plots.

Surviving the Coronapocalypse: A Masterpost
Living in the current coronavirus capital of the U.S., I’ve been thinking a lot about how woefully unprepared my city was, and how I can help other people who will likely be in the situation we’ve been in within the next few weeks or months. There have been a LOT of posts - from memes to crap advice to solid advice to a misspelled hashtag that somehow blew up without anyone noticing. It’s been all over the place and kind of overwhelming, honestly. So instead of reblogging a million individual posts, I wanted to consolidate some of the most useful information/resources I’ve come across into one handy, update-able reference post. And because this a pop culture blog, there’s gonna be plenty of that sprinkled in. This isn’t going to be an exhaustive list, by any means - that would be impossible, considering how many angles there are to this thing and how quickly it’s evolving. But feel free to use this as a starter, and add to it as you come across other resources worth sharing.
First, protect your health:
1. I can’t believe in the year 2020, 150 years after germs were discovered, that we have to even say this, but: Wash your hands, people. This seems obvious, and we hear it constantly, and yet I keep seeing people use hand sanitizer like it’s the same as hand-washing. Not-so-fun fact: IT ISN’T. Not even close (so double fuck this guy!). First of all, it’s only effective against some types of germs. Secondly, it does NOT kill or remove those germs, it just temporarily neutralizes them, allowing them to resurface later. Hand sanitizer should only be used when hand-washing is not an option. It’s better than nothing, but is not a long-term habit that will save you. If you are going to use hand sanitizer, it needs to contain at least 60% alcohol to be effective. Alcohol, however, dries the fuck out of your hands, and germs love dry skin because they can hide in the cracks. So it’s important to moisturize afterward. But I’ll say it louder for the people in the back (esp. men who still haven’t figured out how bathroom hygiene works and then wonder why they’re dying at much higher rates from this): JUST 👏 WASH 👏 YOUR 👏 DAMN 👏 HANDS! 👏 Scrub for 20-30 seconds, like Kristen Bell told you. There are a million memes for this. Find one that speaks to you, or make your own, and use it.
Tumblr media
2. “Social distancing” - By now we’ve all heard of this, and it’s a good thing for everyone to start doing right about now, regardless of whether or not you are feeling symptoms, because as Idris Elba just reminded us (bless), many people do not show symptoms, for weeks or even ever. So: try to stay six feet away from other people as much as possible. If you can’t avoid getting close to people, just make it quick. The latest info is that it’s not airborne (thank god), but transmitted via droplets (i.e. from coughing), so it really doesn’t matter whether you’re inside or outdoors.
3. And now a word from my infectious disease specialist mom who is working on the front-lines of this: 📣  If you have symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), stay home and take care of yourself like you would if you had the flu. Do not go out in public unless you absolutely have to, (i.e. you are literally dying and require medical attention) and if you do, WEAR A SURGICAL MASK. IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS, YOU DO NOT NEED TO WEAR A MASK – THEY SHOULD ONLY BE WORN BY PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK/COUGHING (to stop those droplets), AND BY HEALTH CARE WORKERS. DO NOT HOARD MASKS FOR PERSONAL USE - THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY USELESS TO YOU AND IT DIVERTS THEM FROM THE DOCTORS AND NURSES WHO ACTUALLY NEED THEM. 📣 Thank you.
4. If you can stay home, stay home. Simple as that. Sure, flights are cheap and we all love a deal but at what cost, Becky?? Just because you can fly (you’re young! you’re healthy! you’re feeling lucky! you *hair flip* just don’t give a fuck!), doesn’t mean you can’t show some goddamn personal restraint and concern for your fellow (elderly, at-risk) human beings. If you won’t listen to me, listen to Wonder Woman. Participate in the #stayhomechallenge and #dontbeaspreader.
Tumblr media
5. Inform yourself. The news is doing a really good job of sowing general panic and not much else. And obviously, the situation is literally changing everyday, but here are the basics you should know, via handy infographics. To keep up with the latest, I recommend this interactive map and Science Vs., an investigative science podcast that is currently doing a series of episodes on the ever-changing COVID-19 situation. It does a really good job of painting a picture of how this virus actually spreads, who is at risk, and what a pandemic would actually look like. The “Pandemic” episode of Explained on Netflix is also proving incredibly prescient right now.
Be a decent human being:
The truth is, if you know the facts, coronavirus isn’t actually that scary. What is scary is uninformed people acting impulsively and selfishly. Like, there is no logical reason for the run on toilet paper (coronavirus doesn’t even make you shit!). The reason there is no toilet paper in your grocery store is because a handful of excitable people panicked and bought up all the Charmin they saw. Then other people panicked when they saw the empty shelf and thought, “I guess I should be stockpiling tp too ??” So they did. Then other people came to the grocery store, saw the empty shelves, and posted pictures of those empty shelves on social media. And now everyone in the entire world is freaking out about toilet paper, for no goddamn reason. This scarcity (of tp, of Purell, etc), is a human-created problem, not an outbreak-created problem. Whereas, if everyone had remained calm and bought only what they needed, we could have avoided this entire headache. But people are gonna people, I guess. (If you’re still freaking out about toilet paper though, you should really just invest in a bidet, which is far more sanitary and better for the environment anyway.)
All this is to say: Think before you act. Stop tweeting pictures of empty shelves - you’re only fueling the fire. And don’t use the climate of fear and uncertainty as an excuse to act like a shitty person. When things return to normal, your actions right now will be remembered by those around you. So:
1. Take a look at this graph. If you’re healthy and young (under 60), don’t be a dick. Before you snatch every last roll of toilet paper or bottle of cold remedy off the shelf, considering leaving some for the grandmother behind you who’s probably terrified and has only just now risked leaving her house for this one grocery run, only to find the shelves bare.
Tumblr media
2. Moreover, instead of getting swept up into the panic-buying and selfish hoarding, consider buying/delivering groceries for the elderly and at-risk, who are unable to leave their homes. Find out what volunteer opportunities have sprung up in your community to specifically address outbreak-related needs.
3. Donate to food banks - People who have been furloughed from their jobs will have an even harder time putting food on the table, and kids that depend on free school meals will still need to eat if their school is closed.
4. Support local businesses. Big businesses will weather this just fine, but your mom-and-pop store down the street? Your local grocer? They’re hurting already and might not be able to survive weeks or months of low sales or even closing down for a period of time. So...
Buy from local stores rather than big chains as much as possible.
If you are eating/ordering out, choose local, and especially Asian restaurants, who are really hurting right now, and because again: YOU CANNOT GET CORONAVIRUS FROM FOOD. YOU’RE JUST BEING RACIST.
If you don’t want to eat out at all right now (probably advisable), buy gift cards to local restaurants for yourself or others – This will support struggling business now when they need it, and then you can cash in on them when things calm down a bit.
Likewise, if you have tickets to a play, show, etc that gets cancelled, consider not asking for a refund and instead making that a donation to your local stage company, independent cinema, arts center, etc.
If you live in a city where a large event with many local vendors gets cancelled, find out if there is an alternative pop-up event to support those vendors, or buy from them on Etsy. Many artists and craftspeople depend on one huge, annual event like a fair or Con for their entire year’s earnings, so having that event postponed or cancelled is a huge financial blow to them. For example, when Emerald City Comic-Con got pushed til August, this lovely Twitter thread popped up to support the artists.
Maintain your sanity:
The other big thing we are starting to realize is that this social distancing is going to cause a loneliness epidemic in countries that are already some of the loneliest in the world. We don’t know how long these measures will be in place, so we need to prepare ourselves, mentally/emotionally:
1. Take a breath - Even worst-case scenario, this isn’t the end of the world. Try to keep perspective. Apps like Happify, Calm, or any of these can help keep obtrusive thoughts at bay, provide guided mindfulness meditations and breathing exercises, and help center you when you feel like the world is spinning out of control. This is likely going to be a marathon, not a sprint, so pace yourself and be proactive about your mental health.
2. Stay connected – We have more ways to keep in touch virtually now than ever before.
FaceTime, Marco Polo, Discord – Use technology to check in with your friends and family.
Podcasts are a great way to feel connected to others right now. Death, Sex, and Money just did a listener call-in episode, which was a good reminder that this outbreak is affecting people differently across city, state, country, race, class, gender, and ability. Another one of my faves that is going to be applicable to more people than ever in these coming months is The Hilarious World of Depression, in which comedians like Rachel Bloom, Solomon Georgio, and Margaret Cho talk about mental illness and comedy. In one especially relevant episode, Mara Wilson talks about how people with anxiety tend to handle crisis much better than neurotypicals (which explains how I’m so zen right now...)
3. Keep busy - Not being able to go out and socialize like we are used to is likely to make a lot of us stir-crazy. But there are a ton of things you can do and see from the comfort of your own home.
Go on a virtual museum tour, or see the Palace of Versailles.
Take a soothing, 8-hour virtual drive through Iceland.
Watch operas at The Met.
Explore NASA’s stunning media library.
Tackle your book list.
Start writing that novel (or finish that fic!)
File your taxes (Get that return!)
Do your spring cleaning.
Plant a victory garden to reduce the strain on producers and avoid crowded stores.
Binge the shows your friends keep telling you about (follow this blog and podcast for recs!)
If you have kids, here’s a list of all the free educational courses being offered right now.
Libraries may be closed, but you can still get free ebooks, music, movies and TV shows on the Hoopla app, and movies on Kanopy for free if you have a library card or are a student or teacher.
Some upcoming theatrical releases have been postponed (No Time to Die, indeed), but others, like Emma and The Invisible Man, will hit streaming platforms immediately, so you can still get your new movie fix.
So many things to do! Try not to see it as being confined, but rather as an opportunity to do all the things you’ve been putting off. If getting shit done makes you feel good, do it! But hey - remember that you really don’t have to be productive right now just because capitalism tells you to. This is also a great time to be still and relish doing absolutely nothing.
Tumblr media
4. Perspective - Remember that this is not the only thing happening in the world right now (psst, the U.S. government is using this distraction to fuck with our privacy, AGAIN.) Also, this is not the first pandemic humanity has endured and it will be nowhere near the worst, so soothe yourself by reading about past pandemics and how we got through them.
Alright. Back to covering pop culture for me (we’re gonna need escapism now more than ever). I’m not gonna even try to update this regularly, that’s just too daunting. But I encourage you to add to this and share as needed in the coming weeks/months.
Stay safe out there, and

RECENT NEWS, RESOURCES & STUDIES, late-January 2020
Tumblr media
Welcome to my latest summary of recent news, resources & studies including search, analytics, content marketing, social media & ecommerce! This covers articles I came across since the mid-January report, although some may be older than that.
Right now I am trying to get at least 2 of these out each month. Is that enough? Too much? Am I missing topics you want to see covered? Please let me know! Comment here, message me through Tumblr, Twitter, or my website.
Also, I am once again working on plans to start an ecommerce business forum, where small business owners can learn and discuss topics like the ones I post about here. If you have any preferences for a suggested platform/forum space, please let me know! I will be running a survey once I narrow down my list.
TOP NEWS & ARTICLES
Etsy introduced alternative shipping for US sellers shipping outside of the US & Canada, run by Asendia. Etsy Labels will no longer offer USPS First Class International for those shipments, but faster levels will still be through USPS. The Help file doesn’t give that much more detail; discussion is here.
Having educational/information pages on ecommerce websites can help product page search rankings. Blog posts, pillar pages and tutorials can all be a good investment.
Excellent article on how to keep your existing buyers (aka customer retention) rather than always going after new ones. It cites decent research in the area, with examples. (As regular readers know, I love Help Scout’s customer service articles!) For example, “When it comes to highly rated customer service, quality and completeness matter more than speed. According to research from Gallup, customers were nine times more likely to be engaged with a brand when they evaluated the service as “courteous, willing, and helpful.” “Speedy” service, on the other hand, only made customers six times more likely to be satisfied.”
ETSY NEWS
More updates to listing categories, including a new Presets & Photo Filters category, and Cribs & Cradles is now called Moses Baskets & Hammocks.
Tips on marketing your Etsy listings for weddings. “Etsy wedding shoppers are often drawn to Etsy because they identify as creative people themselves, an asset you should consider when developing and marketing your products. By offering DIY versions of some of your popular items, you can draw in crafty shoppers, who may end up purchasing a finished handmade item from your shop instead. Offering both options can also be a great way of hitting multiple price points.”
If you sell jewellery and/or accessories, here is Etsy’s advice for marketing in the first half of the year. “While high-end jewelry is often a carefully considered purchase, more affordable everyday items make easy impulse buys and gifts due to their small size and approachable price points.” Also, people are still shopping by gender: “70% YoY increase in Jewelry, Accessories, and Bags category searches containing “him”. “We expect the bags category to grow the most out of these three categories in the next year, led by the increasing popularity of small leather goods such as wallets, dopp kits, and items for travel. A recent increase in average order value within the Bags category suggests buyers are willing to pay more for high-quality materials like leather.” But note that “Buyers tend not to use the term "purse" in their searches.” Finally, “From July through September 2019, over half of Etsy US and global GMS came from purchases that shipped for free.”
In case you missed it, Disney is going after Etsy sellers of Baby Yoda merchandise. Some speculate that they are mostly focusssing on the listings making the most sales. More sarcastic & humorous take here.
Interesting interview (podcast & transcript, including a pdf) with CEO Josh Silverman, on business strategies.  I do like this quote: “When you’re successful, what can be really hard is to tell you’re successful because of some things and in spite of others.” To be very honest, I have this problem a lot, and have seen other business people misjudge their success as well. This is telling, though “And you have until December 31st to ship it.” I have a hunch that is what happened with Etsy Ads and the free shipping tools. So they shipped unfinished tools, and that was bad for the business. Finally, “HOFFMAN: Until this point, Etsy’s focus had been on its sellers. It saw itself as a marketplace for handmade items, and the people who made them. Josh knew he had to change this perspective… SILVERMAN: It was a really big shift in focus. I think Etsy, like many two sided marketplaces, has very deep empathy for sellers, so much so that it can forget to have empathy for buyers. And when you talk to your sellers, they really mostly want three things. They want buyers, they want buyers, and they want buyers – in that order. In order to serve the sellers, you’ve really got to focus on buyers...By the end of my fifth week almost everyone in the company had a new job.”
SEO: GOOGLE & OTHER SEARCH ENGINES
Google confirmed a core search update that started to roll out January 13 and took about 3 days, and showed substantial changes on most tracking tools. Early analysis indicates this has once again affected sites based on trustworthiness, but big winners and losers are still unclear. The take from Moz is that this hit health sites like previous updates, but also hurt diverse sites such as Orbitz, Yellow Pages, Poshmark, USA Today and Forever 21. RankRanger noted that there was more volatility in finance rankings than the December update.
Remember Google’s algorithm change late last year, called BERT? George Mueller offered a bit of advice [text and video] on how to optimize for it: “if ... there’s anything that you can do to kind of optimize for BERT, it’s essentially to make sure that your pages have natural text on them...So instead of stuffing keywords as much as possible, kind of write naturally”
Google is now highlighting some products (clothing & accessories) in organic search results on mobile in the US & India; you have to have a Google Merchant Centre account set up, but you do not need to buy ads to get this organic boost. Here’s the Google help file on how to optimize.
If your website has many related pages on a specific topic, organizing the info on one “content hub” (aka pillar pages, or even category pages in some cases) is an excellent way to get user and search engine attention.
Brief video from Google for SEO beginners: how to optimize images for Google search. They also link to their support file on this question, which has more advanced info. And here is another beginners video on Google SEO considerations for your website. (More links in the video comments.)
Google has a “SafeSearch filter” that removes porn and other mature content from search results, but sometimes it catches innocent sites as well.
Another good article on how internal linking can serve multiple purposes on your website, especially keyword ranking.
Sites that get the “featured snippet” position in Google search results can no longer get organic ranking on the first page. This could change, though.
CONTENT MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA (includes blogging & emails)
Excellent tips & advice on how to make email marketing work for you. Not using emails? You should. “...email has over 3.8 billion daily active users. Take a minute to think about that. Most people who use email probably fall between the ages of 15 and 64, and since there are only about 5 billion people on the planet in that age range, that means email has over 75 percent market penetration.” And “Almost three-fourths of people prefer to hear from businesses via email.”
Do you think that every email campaign needs its own landing page? I’m not sure, but there are some convincing arguments here. And don’t forget to plan to send your emails at the right time for your list subscribers.
Updated for 2020, HubSpot does an excellent holiday calendar that can help you plan social media posts and other content ahead of time, including hashtags where applicable.
Tips on converting your existing content (blog posts etc.) into podcasts. “Podcasts tend to be longer-form content than video or blogs. Many videos that companies produce are relatively short, ~2 minutes. For someone looking to listen to your podcast, this may not be substantial enough in terms of the information covered.”
Here’s a useful list of demographics of social media users - think about which sites would work best for your business based on who is using them.
Reddit is an excellent source of content ideas (video & transcript), as people are usually discussing and upvoting things that interest them, and it is all organized by topic for you.
Instagram is adding direct messaging (DM) access to their website.
Facebook is accused of denying data access to potential competitors.
A surprising number of American adults use LinkedIn, and their numbers are growing faster than expected. “LinkedIn users make up around one-third of all social network users in the U.S.”
ONLINE ADVERTISING (SEARCH ENGINES, SOCIAL MEDIA, & OTHERS)
Another tutorial on setting up a Google Ads account.
Google ads were less evident in organic search results, for about a week. This mirrors the changes on mobile several months ago, & includes favicons next to brand sites. But more people complained about the desktop layout, so they have backed down and will continue to test new versions.
Facebook, Google & Amazon are not the only advertising options out there.

STATS, DATA, OTHER TRACKING
If you haven’t set up Google Search Console for your website or blog, you should. [YouTube Video, from the Beginners series]
A good basic guide to using the Google Keyword Planner, including more tips on how to get in without setting up a paid ad campaign.
Instagram is most useful when you track your stats - use Insights to track your reach, clicks, impressions etc.
ECOMMERCE NEWS, IDEAS, TRENDS
The growth of ecommerce purchases has been detrimental to US retail sales overall, due to brick and mortar store closures, lower b&M profit margins, and fewer jobs. Remember that Amazon now gets around 50% of ecommerce purchases in the US, meaning that the increase of online retail is more consolidated than the lost brick and mortar sales.
Amazon will now be reporting counterfeit goods sold on its site to the authorities: "The hope has been that Amazon’s coveted data will help law enforcement make connections about criminals."
Amazon has started a delivery program in Australia called Amazon Flex. Requiring drivers to sign up for shifts up to 4 hours that they choose, driving their own vehicles, the program is being compared to Uber.
Shopify now has over 1 million merchants, and is growing rapidly. “This past Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend, the company saw $2.9 billion in total sales; during its peak, Shopify software was processing $1.5 million in sales and 16,000 checkouts a minute.”
BUSINESS & CONSUMER STUDIES, STATS & REPORTS; SOCIOLOGY & PSYCHOLOGY, CUSTOMER SERVICE
Smartphone purchases continue to increase: $5.9 billion spent on Black Friday & Cyber Monday, and 48% of online purchases in the US on Christmas Day.
Supposedly, USPS is the most trusted brand in the US, followed by Amazon, Google, and Paypal. Actual quote: “levels of distrust are high in America, but it found that brands can win trust by protecting consumers' data privacy, not hiding important information in fine print and treating employees better than the minimum required by law.” I’m struggling with Amazon & Google in the top in particular, given that quote, but at least Facebook didn’t make the top 25. 😉 Note that age is a differential factor here: “Google is the most trusted brand among Gen Z and millennials, while USPS is the most trusted among older generations like Gen X and baby boomers.” Study details & top 25 list available here. (There is a large difference between the generations, according to this study; it’s worth a scan.)
MISCELLANEOUS
If you are looking for a new search engine, here are 7 that aren’t Google. Some of you  probably hadn’t heard of all of them, because I hadn’t.
Anti-virus software Avast is still selling user data to major companies.

The Cosmic Elementals: The Anti-Miraculous Group
An idea like this has probably been done, nonetheless I still wish to take a stab at it anyway. So the one thing I wish we had in the series is a new Antagonist. I like Hawkmoth but his time has come and should end soon. Latest Season 4 & that’s pushing it.
Now for this group, I made it as literally an Anti-Miraculous Group that is made to specifically combat against specific members of the Miraculous Team.
The Zodiacs: This one is going to be an Obvious Group. Team Miraculous has The Chinese Zodiac so Obviously The Cosmic Elementals will have The Cosmic Zodiacs. From Aquarius to Capricorn, all will have a part that perfectly combat against a specific member on Team Miraculous. I don’t have the layout for their powers as of yet but will develop them in the near future. As for the sprites, I’d keep the animal-like theme. Capricorn will be a Goat, Leo is a Lion, Aquarius will be a Mermaid (like I said Animal-Like), etc.
The 5 Elements: Since the Main 5 are a representation of the Elements from Wu Xings Chinese Elements (except its animals & some slight differences), I am having The Cosmic Elementals represent the theme with actual Elements. This will follow The Actual Chinese Elements of Philisophy: Fire, Air, Water,Wood, & Metal. Just like the 12, these 5 will have a means to Counter one of the 5.
Example #1: Nuuruu & Metal. Nuuruu is used to control others and grants others powers by affecting their will. Metal will be used as a representation of “an Unyeilding Force or Will”, the one weakness of Nuuruu powers. If the Will is too strong, The Butterfly Miraculous is pretty much rendered inert.
So far I only have this one thought up, & like the Zodiacs I will be working on the others. One thing I have decided on is that the Elemental Five will have Sprites/Avatars resembling their element rather then an Animal.
Balance Duo - Ying & Yang: Now in this one, both parties will be very similar yet also different. For example, both sides will embody the Ying & Yang theme though when it comes to The Cosmic Elementals, they represent the real Ying & Yang (Black & White) theme. I decided that the Genders will be flipped in this one where the male is Ying (White) & the Girl is Yang (Black). Ying will be used as the counter to Chat Noir & Yang will be the counter to Ladybug. As for their powers, I’ll have them portray the theme of their element to some degree. The power of Light will illuminate all, including the dark destructive powers of Cataclysm, rendering it ineffective. The powers of Darkness (The Void) will consume and take in all forms of Creation including The Lucky Charm & even The Miraculous Ladybug. In regards to their Costumes, I’m having Ying as The Knight in Shining Armor (cliche but fitting as he is a knight that will keep his Lady safe...yes the two have a thing) & Yang will have a Ninja-like Attire w/ an Oni Mask to fully capture her dedication to The Darkness (plus she was always a fan of ninjas as a child).
This will be a WIP that I plan to update weekly/biweekly (May vary as I go through Chemotheropy & continue to Work 8-10 hrs a day, so it all depends on my Health) as I develop the characters more and more with the exception of the Miraculous (and by extension their counters) we haven’t seen yet. The names of each character (The Cosmic Zodiacs sprites are set but I might give the Elemental 5 sprites unique names) are also in the works. Ying & Yang are not official names but I might make it so. Not sure yet.
I hope you all like this idea & I can’t wait to continue working on the Powers & Characters of The Cosmic Elementals. Once that’s done, I’ll work on setting, motives, the Master Plan, etc. I have some plans and ideas but I’ll keep that secret for later. Also, if you have any ideas at all, please feel free to let me know. Who knows, maybe your idea will make it in the Final Draft. If so, I’ll probably have you tagged as the one(s) who inspired the concept/idea.

via Politics – FiveThirtyEight
The average (non-FiveThirtyEight-reading) American’s main exposure to political campaigns probably comes from TV. Since the days of Dwight Eisenhower, television ads have been a central part of our elections; by 2016, campaigns and organizations were spending $2.4 billion to put a total of 3.3 million broadcast TV ads in front of Americans’ bloodshot eyes. These ads can stir up viewers’ emotions, educate low-information voters, manipulate attitudes on race and gender, and — however modestly — persuade voters and win elections.
In short, they are important enough that — along with national polls, state polls, endorsements and fundraising — FiveThirtyEight is now tracking television advertising data for the 2020 presidential election. Our newest elections tool, which uses data from Kantar Media’s Campaign Media Analysis Group, lets you watch every ad that a 2020 candidate has aired on national cable or in any broadcast media market in the country. For each ad, we also have data on how many times it played, the dates and states where it aired, and how much a campaign or group spent to broadcast it. You can also filter the ads to see only those paid for by a specific candidate, those that aired in a specific state1 or those that deal with a specific issue, such as health care or guns.
Despite the hit our productivity might take if we get sucked into a political-ad-watching black hole, we’re excited about this data’s potential to help us understand the 2020 campaign from yet another angle. Which Democratic primary candidates are going all in on which early states? Now their television ad-buying patterns can give us another clue. What issues are driving the conversation of the campaign? These TV ads will show us not only what candidates are talking about, but also how they are talking about it — what stances they take, what framing they use, and so on.
The ads also tell us something in aggregate, like when individual candidates are making their move and how the campaign overall ebbs and flows.
So far, TV is telling a simple tale. Up until July, the airwaves were pretty quiet. Then philanthropist Tom Steyer jumped into the race. Saying he planned to spend $100 million of his own money on his campaign, he has aired at least 1,000 spots per week ever since, dwarfing the volume put out by other candidates. As of Sept. 26, Steyer had accounted for $12.0 million of the estimated $15.4 million that had been spent on TV ads in the presidential race.
Steyer has been focusing his ads on the first four states to vote in the Democratic primary: He’s aired 15,095 spots in Iowa, 4,588 spots in New Hampshire and Massachusetts (the Boston media market also covers much of New Hampshire), 6,943 spots in Nevada and 10,442 spots in South Carolina.2 And this campaign strategy appears to have paid off, as he does better in early-state polls than he does nationally. For example, according to Morning Consult’s latest weekly tracking poll of the Democratic primary, Steyer has 6 percent support across the four early states but just 1 percent support nationwide. And all seven of his qualifying polls for the October debate (those in which he got 2 percent support or higher) are from early states as well. Arguably, Steyer has his aggressive TV strategy to thank for making the debate stage.
The other candidates have not yet started seriously spending on TV. To date, most candidates have been committed more resources to Facebook and Google ads than to television ads (Pete Buttigieg, for example, has spent $5.3 million on digital vs. just $302,200 on TV). After Steyer, the active candidate who has spent the most on TV is Joe Biden, who has aired 882 spots for an estimated $384,220, almost all of it in Iowa.3
But that’s likely to change. In the 2016 cycle, campaign spending really started to ramp up in fall 2015; the same pattern could emerge this cycle too. Just this week, in fact, Elizabeth Warren announced plans for a $10+ million TV and digital ad blitz in the early states. So keep an eye on our tracker, which is updated every weekday, to see the television primary evolve in real time.

Blazers, Match Jackets,.
Due to the fact that you'll need to handle exercises in three sporting activities, this can easily feel mind-boggling, yet that doesn't must. Here are a handful of recommendations in order to get you began. Biking partakes an interesting, quite gender-neutral position because of how little bit of coverage the sport receives. Production UCAN's website mentions that the provider's two sporting activity drink combines, one created for previously and also during the course of workout as well as yet another that is actually protein-enhanced for after a workout session, are comprised of exactly what they call SuperStarch. Commonly in sports resolution spring seasons for an interest for the sport and the goals our company are seeking. Even with the scorching situations, I powered with for a brand-new individual document of 2:49. However these individuals-- a lot of all of them youthful, in their 20s as well as 30s-- failed to accommodate that description. Apple's lovely Check out agitated the wearable globe when this went on purchase final spring season, completing head-to-head along with models off firms like Garmin, Sunnto, Polar, LG, and also Fitbit. Always remember however, every sport has their own form of footwear and also you have to purchase the shoe for that certain sporting activity - so do not make an effort to manage in biking footwears or even football footwears. While the face of the view is somewhat more thick (easy to understand, offered the add-on from the soul fee surveillance and likely a slightly larger electric battery to support the extra energy needs), the skin equals in size to the FR220/620 (the same display screen protectors I made use of for my FR220 match flawlessly on the FR225) and the weight is actually still remarkably light. . The crew is actually generally arresteded for making sure that you are healthy to continue taking part in the occasion. The various other factor they store up food is actually that they know they cannot find any food items around regardless of whether they made an effort, however I do not possess an analogy for that particular facet from pet actions, so permit's concentrate on sparing power. Getting in http://anokgondolatait.info with someone which is just ending up being a distance runner can help you reconnect along with whatever that helped you love the sporting activity. People carry out crunches and also bench medias without liking all of them, however they do them to keep fit or enhance specific regions. This isn't to mention that I believe we have to leave record as well as modify every little thing concerning the sporting activity from ultrarunning, however without being open to originalities and methods, ultrarunning will definitely almost certainly end up being a gimmick that is generally failed to remember in five or even One Decade by almost every person who has related to the sporting activity in latest opportunities. Management in Europe are actually hard to get away apart from if you possess health care approvement due by cancer or even various other quite negative seeckness like ... United States champion in biking ... I was actually functioning whit a bunch of leading sportsmen in other sport and also never ever, truly never ever observed someone easy and also therefore modest going. Therefore on my test runs along with the soles, usually in my footwears for snowshoe jogging, I discovered an extremely pleasant match the footwear and very little added weight at 1.5 oz (baseding upon Montrail). Yes, my breakfast for my entire adult lifestyle till I was thirty-six years of ages was actually as a lot of favorites as well as cigarettes I might match prior to leaving behind the house. Associates appreciate your countless energy and also vigor, naturally, however you could discover as self-indulgent. You might sort of stroll us via how you fit every thing in there, as well as all at once create this try great. Perhaps this assessment performs a small amount from the lower leg work with you on the moto 360 sporting activity.
I generated a new web page on my blog where I have actually incorporated some of my most well-liked write-ups for various internet sites - you can easily locate that webpage BELOW I'll continuously update that on a month to month manner! That is among the set' slickest styles as well as stays massively preferred with sneakerheads worldwide to today. An assessment will definitely be actually a lot more exciting if you can interweave a little bit of individual in there I prefer to tell individuals how I uncovered a band, or where I took the cd coming from, or exactly what the tracks advise me from. For me, the higher electricity result of races calls for making use of additional traditional fuel than lengthy training runs, even when I am actually consuming Age UCAN's Sports Consume Mix before the race. I have not located a pair from sports colors that I such as hanging around on the bridge from my sweaty nose for hrs at a time, so up until then it's a hat or even a cap. Simple fact 89: One of the most well-liked month for endurance races is actually October (US and also Canada) with 121 planned races in 2012. Tom's reviews in the evaluation concerning the sizing is actually location on. read this article is great for me and also steady along with my other Asics. Right now however, there are many brand-new individuals off so many various histories that belong of the culture that the sporting activity is building so much more from a demand for wide array and also a quicker, extra obvious development in comparison to in the past. Crossing the line in 13th general, Staff U.S.A Minnesota member and also 2016 Olympic Trials competitor Biya Simbassa completed in 48:33 as the top Minnesotan. Raleigh's Nevada Mareno, a Leesville Road elderly which will definitely visit Stanford, gained the Foot Storage locker South in 17:21.7. Mareno additionally succeeded the condition Course 4-A ratty nation championship in Nov at Kernersville's Redmon Athletics Complex, along with Platek having second. Youngsters which focus prematurely on a solitary sport frequently fail to establish general activity skills, or physical education. According to the Shoefitr site, if a consumer decides on the same dimension shoe in a different version he will certainly not receive his preferred match 40% from the time. Federal education privacy legislations enable however carry out certainly not require acknowledgment from punishing info regarding transmission pupils to their brand-new institution. Our experts do certainly not log or even hold any kind of sensitive information including what you actually transmit during the course of the session. I invested practically the whole entire winter logging kilometers on my treadmill in the cellar - futures, periods, paces. The moment his superstar pupil, right now she's a running mate along with Gallant as well as several of his fastest buddies on Saturday long runs at Salem Pond in Winston-Salem, where Crowley right now lives. I received improved on my means to Frankfurt along with the new level beds in United Service, pretty great. Often, the variation comes down to how much the organizations responsible for the sport are capable or even prepared to invest..
