👋 hey, I am Looking for LARPers to play Tiktok War of the Gods with me.
Tumblr media
(I’m currently in hospital til IDK when, but this will give you plenty of time to build your character. BTW, the gods used The bible to be born on “Earth” & they have forgotten who they are. So throughout their human life, they are following something blindly in their heart to who they truly are, the gods who complied with enslavement joined the elite. The rich, famous, etc! The gods who do not comply never find work, or struggle throughout their human life to keep a job because it is not satisfying)!
Email your character ideas!💡 [email protected]

tmw you're testing acting concepts for a new larp character for majority of a game, then you're back to talking with your usual character, and start constantly slipping into the different tones for those characters

How high is your bleed threshold?
If you're into roleplaying, you've probably heard about bleed. But do you know what memetic bleed is, or emancipatory bleed? There is a whole network of concepts out there about what spills over between characters and players. And if you've ever wondered why not everyone experiences bleed the same way, you'll love to read about bleed thresholds.

About rpgs that make you break the law as part of gameplay, I have a fun one. A larp I used to play wrote one of its rule books so badly that per rules of the game the organization was required to commit real world tax fraud. Luckily sense prevailed and the game decided to pay its taxes, even if it meant breaking the rules of an rpg, but the fact that it had to be debated at all haunts me.
(With reference to this post here.)
I've had contact with some pretty out there LARPs over the years (the Regina/Saskatoon Mind's Eye Theatre chapters are considered eccentric even by Mind's Eye Theatre standards, and if you know the community you'll understand what this means), but I have to admit LARPing real-life tax evasion is a new one even for me.

My favorite four tools for running a game:
Yes, And: most people are familiar with this. You accept what the player is doing and add to it. "I go to open the door." "You open the door and a large friendly dog jumps out, pinning you to the ground."
No, But: a lot of people know this one, too. You aren't letting the player Do The Thing, BUT something else happens! "I try to stab the shop keep." "The shop keep dodges your attack, but trips and falls to the floor, dropping the key he was palming."
Yes, But: much less used but fun! The player's choice works, technically, but there's Unexpected Consequences! "I go to smash the box." "Your mace falls squarely on the chest but it deforms, absorbing the blow and revealing a massive row of teeth!"
No, And: use with caution, for moments when the Fuck Around has occurred, and now it's Find Out's initiative. "I'm going to try and seduce the guard." "Unbeknownst to you, the guards are all eunuchs under a vow of celebacy and he takes significant affront at your presumption."
I don't use these for everything, but they're great tools for when an action needs a bit of back-and-forth.
Have fun, don't die!

🚯 Litter, Detective! is now available on itch.io! 🚯
Tumblr media
THE OBJECT OF THE CRIME IS THE SUBJECT OF YOUR CASE
A conversation game for woodland walks in which two or more players stretch their legs & imagination while tidying up the trash they find.
Tumblr media
Litter, Detective! includes mobile friendly, plain text & print-ready versions so you can bring a copy on your next walk.
Part larp, part lyric game, ttrpg-adjacent and fully inspired by the bizarre and mundane refuse that haunts my local walking trails.
I wrote this game on a typewriter and presented it using graphics scanned from a 1917 trench newspaper called The Wiper's Times.
Here's one of the articles from Tuesday, April 10th, 1917:

I am so very nervous about making this post but I need community input so here I go-
Hi! My name is Clara and I'm a senior writing my thesis in college. I'm an art history major and my thesis is gonna be about fanart and cosplay (and video games!) and why those are underrated but also super important and valuable in society! (This is a very basic watered down explanation lol)
Since I'll need some examples and sources, I want to reach out to people who do fanart/cosplay (especially since this is the fanart site hehe) to see if you'd be willing to have your art included in my thesis! I'm a nerd about Arcane, Severance, Hades, Baldur's Gate, and a bunch of other stuff, so if you are into any of those fandoms, please especially say hi! (But even if you're not, please drop by anyways! I'll use anything and everything I can get lol)
Any skill level or medium is welcome! Digital (minus AI, since that's not what I'm writing about), traditional, sculpture, embroidery - and if you want to yap about your experiences with making fanart, I'd love to hear it!
Ditto with cosplay - any skill level/focus is welcome! I also would love perspectives from LARPers or people in SCA groups, since I'd like to touch on historybounding at least a little bit. (I do know that SCA is a much different beast than LARP, but what you guys do is also super valuable and interesting to me and I'd welcome any input there as well! I genuinely love learning things so please teach me about what you do!)
It's gonna be seen by my professor and likely not many other people on my campus (it's not getting published anywhere official), but anyone whose art I'd use would get properly cited and whatnot, and if you have any interest in reading it once it's done, I'd consider sharing it directly with those who would want to read it.
I'm a pretty small blog so any reblogs help immensely! And if you have any questions, feel free to DM me, message me in the notes, or stop by my askbox :) I'll try to reach out to individuals as well, but I'd love to get a broader group if I can. The more the merrier. :)
Thank you guys so much!!

I’ve been enjoying thinking of the Life Series as something like an in-universe LARP for Grian to flex his under-used Watcher powers because they were starting to cause him trouble otherwise.
But I realised, that means his win in Third Life was essentially the GMPC beating up all his players …

The tabletop roleplaying community sure loves the idea of 1990s revival, but I won't believe we're actually serious about it until we commit to bringing back LARPs whose rules encourage their participants to commit real-life crimes.

Sorry I’m not replying to messages. I do see them. I’m answering some asks and posting a bit of random thought stuff on twitter but I’m feeling kind of like I’m retreating to my old hermit state of internet usage.
These past few weeks I haven’t had energy to do a lot of stuff. It currently takes a lot out of me to reply individually because I’m trying to secure a job for myself again. So a lot of my energy is put there and worrying about my finances and future…
Thank you for the support as always and I’ll try to respond as soon as I feel I can give a decent response to DMs.
As for art stuff, I thought about starting to post again but due to the recent AI stuff that was released about sketches being converted to lineart easily, I got a bit paranoid again so it might take a while. I’m reading comics between breaks and rediscovering my love for stories so that’s good
