New phone who dis?

No but seriously I just "upgraded" to a hand-me-down phone from my brother, and god it's so EASY now? Just set up an app and it transfers everything, even my layouts and stuff. I've hardly had to do any device clean up, and most of that is cause this phone's a Verizon build and I use AT&T so it keeps yelling at me that my sim card isn't Verizon, lmao.

It even looks to have kept my text suggestions/autocomplete, so when I start typing "lan..." it suggests "lan wangji has golden eyes" which is good because Tumblr is no longer saving ANY tag suggestions for mdzsartreblogs or tgcfartreblogs, so I'm having to type every tag by hand, and if not for text suggestions that'd be a total fucking nightmare.

JC finally gets his act together and gets married? yzh and wwx are being little shits and giving him all sorts of embarrassing advice on being married. they're very proud of him and it shows, but they're going to roast the hell out of him. Jiang-furen shows up at some point and watches with xianxia popcorn.

Lan Wangji is also there with xianxia popcorn (aka, popped lotus seeds fried in oil and spices) to educate Jiang Cheng about remodeling an existing residence to accommodate a wife + children. Along with the popped lotus seeds, he brings the newlyweds a set of before-and-after blueprints of the Jingshi and a book about extending rooms built over water, so that Jiang-furen can pick a layout for Lihua's new bedroom.

thank you, kind anon! I've sat looking at this for a few days, but Jackie just asked me what my favourite set I've made this year was, so I had a dig in my archive and I'll link some here too.

This is my favourite I've made this year. It's my pinned post, so that probably gives it away 😂 but I've giffed these boys so often, I had to put a lot of time and effort into thinking of something different for them. I had a lot of fun trying out different layouts and different information. There's probably half a set worth of scrapped gifs for this somewhere.

The first gif of this came out so well. A lot of masking and fiddling, but it really captured what I wanted to show.

Did I mention I like blending? I do! I love adding layers to scenes this way Blending my beloved.

Much as I love blending, typography is my behated. I am so bad at it. So this one took some work, but I am pretty happy with the results!

I also love making templates - there were some great Netflix ones, but I wanted to have a go at an up to date Netflix UK one. Plus I had fun making up an ongoing storyline.

3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr

i've seen this in both tumblr and fics, but "mama lan was justified because the teacher she killed was totally a child molester and lan wangji should have killed all the elders because they helped cover it up."

tied with it would be some of the utterly bizarre shit i saw in vld fandom like the now-deleted klance blog who said that shipping sheith (a character of korean descent and a character of japanese descent) was xenophobic because they were both asian.

there are probably more, but those two currently stick in my head the most.

4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?

this is a hard one to narrow down... we'll go with tiger and bunny because i can. there was a group of bnfs i already hated for their treatment of nathan and some of their really gross characterizations, but at the time, i was one of those people who felt really rude and petty for blocking over something that small. but when a friend of mine started watching and liveblogging the show, they made a whole-ass group blog just for insulting her, and that was when i finally decided fuck it. been leaning into the petty ever since.

17. there should be more of this type of fic/art

i love, love, love it when people get experimental with comic layout styles or fic formatting, especially when it becomes part of the story. i feel, especially in fan comics, there's so much fun that's not being had.

Gender Headcanon: Male

A ship I have with said character: Jin Guangyao/Lan Xichen/Nie Mingjue. Mostly I'm all about the 3zun as a triad of tragedy and doom.

A BROTP I have with said character: His literal brotp with Lan Wangji.

A NOTP I have with said character: Can't think of any big notp I have for Xichen. Asides from something random like Yanli/Xichen. Actually that could be fun, they would destroy everyone around them with sweet smiles so nevermind. No notp.

A random headcanon: Lan Xichen goes in seclusion not so much to punish himself so much as to concentrate on cultivating to immortality in order to reach an age when he can put his sworn brothers to peace successfully.

General Opinion over said character: I love Lan Xichen. I think he's a very subtle and deep character. I like to consider him as flawed - a little bit selfish and a little bit overconfident - as well as a remarkably kind and righteous person which he also is. He thinks of himself as just the right amount of flexible (compared to LWJ and also LQR) and in the end it's also one of the thing that traps him which is pretty tragic.

Hey wait! Haven't we already reviewed this book?! The answer is yes. However, I have a selection of earlier entries into this blog that were made BEFORE I figured out my current post layout that I want to retouch. The old post can be located here for archival purposes.

Synopsis: Wei Wuxian, a brilliant cultivator who took a dark path, was the supreme evil. It took the culminated forces of the majority of the cultivation world to wipe him and his evil from the earth. At least, that's how the story has always been told. Having just been freshly ripped from the afterlife and bound to a body not his own, WW is in some serious need of answers. Throw a chance encounter with his longtime rival Lan Wangji from his past incarnation into the mix... and well. comedy is bound to ensue. My thoughts: This was my first introduction into danmei! I have a long form review of this volume already completed. I also have a list of in depth trigger warnings written about this book should it catch your fancy. I can't help but to be appreciative of this book, because it blew my expectations away. I got a lot more than what I bargained for, and I can definitely see why it is as popular in niche communities as it is.
